and please make sure you like, subscribe,
and download where you get your show.
How you doing today, Joe?
I'm doing great, my brother, D'Bow.
Another great day.
Lord is made.
Monday night football was able to watch that.
I'm not going to lie to you.
Caught me all the way off guard.
All the way.
All the way to the left.
I'm glad we don't speak about the games before it happened
because I didn't.
Hey, this.
I was like third string quarterback.
Come on, man.
Case Keenum, like, no disrespect.
None.
No disrespect.
But Jaylen Hertz is making $55 million a year.
Franchise quarterback, the starters there, healthy, Sequin Barclay's there.
We got a receipt.
Everybody's hood.
That's why any given Sunday.
Any given Sunday.
Any given Sunday, brother.
You can get it.
And you can go and get it.
Yes.
You got to play the game.
Line it up.
Line it up.
If you don't line it up, you ain't got a chance.
As long as you line it up, Joe, you got a shot.
1,000 percent.
And man, Case Keenham, third string quarterback, brother.
Yes.
And out there and what was it?
24 for 34, 24, 247 yards, two touchdown.
Mm-hmm.
But 110 pass a rating, Joe.
And man, what was it?
They said he was nine of nine for 133 yards against the blitz.
Yes.
Debo, Chase, he was decisive.
He was accurate.
And then when you have Swift and Menungai toting that pill at eight yards of tote every time they get it.
So he just handed it off, boom, boom, three step drops.
They're running slits.
He's getting the ball out of his hands very quickly, accurately.
The offensive play calling, too.
They got the Eagles running around into each other.
People running sky free.
So, like, if you don't know if it's going to be running a pass,
you can start doing these play actions.
And Loveland, the receiver, my man, 14, 10,
these dudes are, he's getting into the playmaker's hands.
They're catching the rock and they're getting up field.
Like, it wasn't too much.
It wasn't gray.
It didn't look like you saw Chase having to think too much.
He looked very relaxed.
He looked very in control because at the day,
where you can hand it off to Swift,
you can hand it off to Minangai.
You start running those play actions, those three-step drops.
He wasn't back there just patting the ball.
He was getting to his back foot and delivering the strike
because he knew his receivers where they needed to be.
Ball was right to him and they were getting up field.
I was like, this is just great offensive play.
This is a great play call.
It's team ball running the ball,
receivers catching the ball, dudes making plays.
Like, it was just great team effort.
Yeah, they said he was getting rid of the ball in 2.25.
seconds, bro.
Yes.
He wasn't holding on to the rock.
That meant the offensive line.
They really didn't even have to block that long, although they did block well.
The run game, they blocked, well, average is still good.
Average is good.
Yeah.
You know, as a total.
Like, that's just really what it, you know, came down to.
And then they had the one where they was a little over eight and a half minute drive.
Yes.
And you can't do that without having a line that's blocking effectively.
1,000 percent.
Winning on first down.
Like, you run a.
for seven, eight yards, it's second and two.
It's not too tough when it's second and two.
Do you know what I'm saying?
And then it just makes the game a whole lot easier.
Yeah, the defense, obviously, they helped a lot of that.
They created, what was it, three turnovers, one fumble, two on.
Ball searching, ball searching, going after getting it, making sure they get it back,
holding on to it and protecting it.
The game was a lot closer, though.
Like the first half, they ended up, what, 10-7 right there?
Yes.
And Sequin, he was 11 for 73 in the first half.
And then I don't know what happens.
Y'all get to the second half and you only get a man ball four times?
Yes, they only gave it to him four times, for sure.
And every time he was when he was getting it, they was hitting him in the backfield, too.
Like he wasn't able to even get going.
Question two, Debo, did you see my man, Sequin?
This has nothing to do with the ball play.
Did you see him with the Bobby Boucher?
Bro, I was trying.
Listen, I wasn't going to say nothing about the neck brace.
brother.
I was like, is that?
I said, hold on.
Does he have on the Bobby Boucher?
Yeah.
He had on the Waterboy.
That dream was crazy.
So, yeah, that's on the side note.
But he was toting the rock in the first half being able to get it.
But defense stepped up for Chicago in the second half for show.
And did you see when my man Jalen hurts?
Get out of bounds, coach.
Get out of bounds.
You, no, no.
Because one of the last.
That's not a late hit, bro.
That's not a late hit.
You have one for the, you're playing.
Stop playing with these people.
The goal that we want to have, we want to put hands on you so bad.
And you're thinking it's all sweet.
You linsening up.
Get out of bounds.
Is that yard worth you getting your cat peeled back?
No.
Like, don't you, it's like quarterbacks are sitting there playing with people because
late slides.
If you want to get out of bounds, you can get out of bounds.
You could have slid before that.
The extra step you're trying to get is it really worth now, me firing off on you.
Because that, when he didn't hit him out of balance, his feet on the white.
He's talking about he's out of bounds.
He's not out of bounds.
Part of his foot is out of bounds, yes.
But at that time that he's going into that hit, he don't know if he's going to fake that
or try and cut up.
Get out of bounds.
You're sitting there trying to play.
Tell your quarterback to protect himself and get his ass down or out of bounds sooner.
1,000 percent.
Debo, they're trying to get the flag.
Like now I'm seeing dudes.
They're flailing.
Like, quarterbacks are trying to like,
They're playing the O'Lay.
I'm like, brother, it's football.
If you want to get out of bounds, you can get out of bounds.
No, because these delinement, they're running after you for their life.
They're getting blocked so long for the chance that you try me on the sideline.
Get out of bounds.
If you get out, lose that yard.
Okay, if you want to take that extra step, I'm going to fire on you.
I'm going to fire off on you.
And now you out the game and y'all got old red rocket in there.
And the first time he threw that rock, he gives it right.
A lollipop.
And my man, and it hurts.
You can't be mad at the protocol.
You should have been in there even longer.
The man set you, you was over there rolling on the ground, laying down like a, you was planking.
So if you planking, go get in the damn tent, check on your extremities.
Don't, yes.
You'd be able to come back.
If you ain't do that and try to sell it.
I'm like, right, if you had stepped out one yard earlier, you would not be in the tent.
And Rocket wouldn't have came out there and threw that lollipop.
No question.
No question at all.
Like, get out, get down faster.
Everything go a little smoother than that.
And I don't really think, and I don't really think, Debo, that it changed it too much.
I mean, obviously, that's changed.
It did, dude.
Like right there.
I'm saying the way that he played, though.
He came back in before the half, drove it down, got it to Devonte.
You know what I'm saying?
They scored with zero seconds before the half.
So I'm like, he came back and drove the ball right now before half and scored.
So I'm like, he looked good right there.
I mean, like, that was instantly
and came back to score.
So I'm like, okay, all right,
we can see.
The second half was a different ball game.
He was throwing it to the other squad.
He must have, after that, the adrenaline must have wore down at halftime,
and he came back out when we started throwing it to the other team.
Because some of those picks do, like, you have the floater.
And he's, guarantee, I'm throwing it to Devante Smith.
You see that.
He's, like, predetermining where he's throwing the ball.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think what was it like?
Like 10 penalties against
against Philly.
Like, I mean, you beating yourself
in the process of them beating you too.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, were they precautions?
When I'm saying the Eagles definitely got
whooped, but the Bears in Case Keenham,
they played great football.
Case Keenham was doing exact,
like he looked comfortable.
He looked decisive.
He looked like he knew where he wanted to go
with the passes.
So it's like I, I've,
credit the officer line.
He did.
He did.
He did.
He damn sure did.
And I'm saying with the play calling, with the offensive line, with the run game, with everything,
it just looked.
It just was flowing.
It was flowing.
They went for it on fourth and goal.
It didn't get that.
But still just understand and feeling like, look, our offense is flowing.
I believe that we're going to be able to get it.
A doonese.
That was a touchdown.
That was a great ball by Case Keenan.
Like, but he tipped it with his fingers and ended up only getting one for then.
I'm like, that's not Case is.
That should have been another tug.
Yeah, he was trying to catch the ball.
And then he thought about, oh, I got to get my feet down.
He lost the controller trying to make sure he caught the ball first.
Yeah, need to snag that.
That was a good ball.
That was a good ball, though.
Yeah, Eagles only had, what was it, seven, eight possessions, one, two, three, four, nine possessions.
First one, five plays, punt, second with two plays a fumble,
12 plays on the one with the interception.
And one where he came back in, the eight plays,
they got a touchdown.
Then it was three plays, punt, three plays, punt, three plays,
point three plays, point five plays interception,
and then six plays on downs.
And that's the whole second half.
After that, eight played TD, when he came back in,
the second half, they did Nathaniel.
So we was talking about with Sequin running it,
off the rip, the first, like his first carries,
he's getting hit in the backfield, minus one yards.
They're trying to do a swing pass to him.
your receiver's not blocking.
Nine.
Zero.
Fired on.
Like, zero.
Yeah, man.
That was that they, the, second half for the Eagles offense, not good.
Yeah.
It wasn't, yeah, it wasn't a good, it wasn't a good display.
But I don't understand why you don't at least keep trying to hand it to Barclay.
It was still, you know, it was still close getting up to, until they,
they went on here and let them do what they want to do in the second half.
They must have adjusted way better than they adjusted when the halftime came.
Yeah, Debo, because you look, when you said when they come out of halftime
and it's three and out, three and out, three and out, that means on your first play,
you can't get a first down.
You can't get the ball.
When you head it off to Sequo on the first time, one-yard game.
You know what I'm saying?
Oh, zero-yard game.
You're starting off at the first player to drive, handed it off to them.
Nothing's going.
So then you're trying to pass it the second play.
check down, dump, miss, and it's just nothing's getting started.
So that whole second drive, if you lose on first down and you're trying to get your run game going
and they're scoring points on the other side.
Now it's like, all right, we can hand it off, but can you get seven?
Are we going to be able to get 12, burst one out so we can now get on the ball, get stuff going?
You don't even get a drive.
You don't get your feet moving because you're always behind the sticks.
You're second and 11.
They're looking at you crazy.
Yeah, it's hard.
It's hard to, you know, be able to open up your playbook when you got.
that's such long, you know, down the distance coming into a second.
That's like, you know, the second down, you're hoping you're getting somewhere,
somewhere between at least that eight to five range on your second down,
you know, second and eight, second and five, something like that, at least positive yards.
Yes.
Like, they weren't even able to do that.
Uh-uh.
It hurts.
He ended 1625, 153 and interception.
Like, that ain't.
It could have been in a couple.
of those picks were dropped. Like, he was throwing it to the lurkers, like, a couple of times.
Like, with the same one that he threw at the end of the game, that one hit the butt, hit buddy
in his face, dropped it. Like, just some of the decision. I'm like, come on, man, it could have
been worse. Could have been way worse, brother. Could have been way worse. Yeah, they go have to,
they got to get that sorted out fixed. That two and old, or that two-on-one record now,
uh, it could, it could be worse. It could be far worse. Like, they, they, they
scrape through a game or two.
I think two of those games, they barely kind of
made it through. So
hopefully they can get it fixed.
No, Debo, this is the thing.
They can get a lot to.
When I be watching these games, dude, I don't,
I just don't want to see.
I don't want to.
I don't like their fans.
I don't want, I don't want, yes.
They do.
Like, I don't use word hate too much, man,
but them dudes, they get close to it, brother.
I take the hate back, but they get close to it, man.
I truly, they, they, it's the fan.
Dude. It's the fans, dude.
Like, you're throwing batteries at the bus and shit.

Y'all been killing, man.
It's crazy.
I never ever thought, y'all too.
Y'all too would get on here and have a podcast.
Talk like y'all do, man.
It's awesome, man.
Congratulations.
Dude.
Yeah, it just, it just fell together, man.
It was, it was God's timing, man.
It was definitely not ours, because we just
ended up shooting the shit for, what was it, the softball game over there?
Yeah, yeah, Cam, said time, boy.
Yeah, I was looking.
I'm like, yo, we, you know, need somebody.
Like, and I'm sitting there, me and Joe,
we just started chopping it up.
Like, we done, you know, known each other for 20 years.
I'm like, you picked money, Joe.
You know that's money, man, Joe now.
Chill, pal.
Hey, hey, listen here, man, matter of fact, man,
let me go back to college, man.
I know Joe, he wasn't that dude that he claimed, you know,
He is right now.
I know he had to be a little wild in college, man.
Look here, man.
Just talk to me, man.
He ain't here, okay?
He knows.
You know what it is.
You know, I love your wife, man.
I love your wife, so I ain't know.
Yes.
Yes.
This, you know, that was back in the day.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I still love him, man.
I don't want to jump on me when I see him.
But, man, Joe was a hell of a player.
I'm talking about one of the best players,
athletes we've ever seen, right?
For him to come in there as quarterback and to him to make a decision to move over a corner
and went over there and ball and was better than everybody else on our defense,
It was unbelievable, right?
So Joe, you know how I feel about you, boy, man.
You're an unbelievable player, man.
Thank you.
Like, you deserve it, bro, because you was that dude, that's for sure.
We got lucky to steal you from Cleveland because when it happened, I never.
Wow, texting Joe.
Instantly.
Yeah, me.
He was the first person to hit me up, Pounce.
Soon as I got released from the Browns, I looked at my phone.
He was like this, yeah, bro, we need you.
Like, get over here.
I'm like, yes.
You already know Coach Tyler was going to sign.
He wanted you, man, you went too high for him.
He never had a seventh overall thing.
Oh, he came a holiday at Pro Day.
He was like, you know, you're going to be off the board before I get there.
100%, bro.
100%.
Debo, how life is, man.
I know everything, I know, but you did acting, man.
You still listening like crazy.
You might well get out there and help us out a little bit.
No, bro.
Listen, man, I went out there and told everything in my body up, man.
Just the thought process of having to adjust to something right now.
Make me feel like my whole ACL, MCL, MCL, L, L.
Everybody going, all the L.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, all the L.
Question, pounds, though.
How is your, how is your, do you ever get the itch to go back out there and play at all?
Or are you, you chilling?
Man, because you look good, my brother.
No, I ain't a lot to you.
The only time I ever do, man, is when I'm running football kid.
Because, you know, Mike, my brother's, my little nephew, his son is a quarterback superstar.
Awesome, man.
We wasn't that good as I look here.
So hopefully he keeps his head on and keeps balling.
But when you can brown them and see how the kids are and, you know, how much they compete now,
them turning 13 years old.
Yeah.
Yeah, it makes you miss that part, man.
You giving back to the youth part.
but then they challenge you too now, right?
So they get out there and show them what it is.
So that part there, but I will say what I do miss more than anything, man,
doing this right here with y'all.
Man, you know, the camaraderie.
Yes, that's what I tell people.
Yeah, people don't understand that part of it, right?
Because when you leave outside the Brotherhood and go to reality, man, life's a shocker, right?
You're trying to sit there.
You're saying, I was sitting at the baseball game and figuring out what's going to be next.
You know, I mean, same thing with everybody who leaves out of it,
no matter how much success you have or money you have.
Man, the thing is a real, real shocker.
There's no one's there walking you to the back door of the office anymore,
the doctors and no one's not to, you know what I mean, your schedule.
Hey, hey.
Your own schedule, you know what I mean?
Yes.
I mean, Debo's probably still good at me.
I ain't go live in Pittsburgh.
He's still in Pittsburgh.
He's still, he's still for silly.
That's why I ain't go nowhere, man.
They're talking about, hey, man, why are you standing in Pittsburgh, man?
What's there?
I say, listen, I'm only an hour and a half from the crib, which means I'm close enough to
get there if I need to, and I'm still close enough for them to get to me.
But you can't just pop up out of nowhere up on me.
No, no, for sure.
top of that, I don't have to wait for much of anything.
No.
The doctor, all that, uh-uh, hey, listen.
Ain't nobody stop you anyway.
When your big ass walk in, I ain't nobody's talking.
You ain't lying.
For real, for real.
Hey, man, look here.
We're not here, Debo, you're right, though, bro.
Having that little distance away from the fan a little bit,
they already got a question, you know,
to get up in the car and got to drive down there
and hang out for three hours a little bit differently for me and Mike.
But we do have a ranch right there in the middle,
so we kind of got our little compound that we can all meet up
had to hang out together. But, man, to have the whole family down here at the football, man,
you get, as long as all us play, y'all understand, man, every single game you have, you know,
30 people at the house. And, you know, at some point, you just want to love peace and privacy.
So I think that's more chase now than anything. But.
Okay. Look here, brother. You came in 2010. That was the year we ended up going to the Super Bowl
in Green Bay. That was basically, you know, the last chance we got of, you know, winning a Super Bowl.
I want you to tell Joe, you know, what it was like coming from a winning college team and then going to a winning NFL franchise.
You know what?
Please, Pounce.
I'm not going to lie to y'all, man.
It was crazy.
Now hop out that bus the first time, you know, to pull up into the locker room and then to see who was all in there.
And I'm like, dang, like, you know, you get drafted their team and you see the roster, man, you know, Dibo's there, Troy Palomalamaloo, you know, Key, Ham, all the boys.
And he's just, you know, all the line.
You know, Matt Starks was there, you know, played at Florida.
before we did, you know, I mean.
And to go there and just in adapt to that environment, it was tough.
And then we went to, at Joe, you know, we was old CBA.
So, you know, them two of their practices.
Yeah.
We only had one year, and Debo probably had, you know, 25 years of it.
I'm just telling you right now, I'm first practicing in the morning.
You know, we were just shells, man.
Hey, no joke.
They don't know what that shell is, man.
Man, boy, the shell is head.
As a helmet, bro, and the bottoms of your shorts.
Like, that's real.
Not going to the, nobody's hitting each other in the legs anyway.
We had it.
Boom.
Come on, bro.
So that's what I'm trying to say.
To go through that, bro, and then, you know, bro,
all of us had a little chip on our shoulder, a little cognizance because, bro, we came
from the University of Florida, right?
Just come from a championship team, you know.
Yes, sir.
You know, we had this prestige behind us, you know, the first round draft pick part.
And I'm just telling you, boy, those first practices were tough.
And I'm out there.
I called Mike Addoer.
I said, boy, I ain't going to lie to you.
We got a lot of free time.
But, boy, every day you got to bring it.
Because it don't matter.
I tell people all the time, like, man, you're looking at the first team guys,
but, man, the second team and the 13 guys, they're still in the NFL.
And them guys could be started, you know what I mean?
I don't get me wrong.
Not all of them, right?
Now, so we're out there whenever a scout team.
We're out there abusing them.
You get what I'm saying?
Yeah.
When them dudes, man, you know that, man, the reason why he's there because his position is money played into it.
So you start to learn that process, but, man, you got to adapt to it.
If you ain't ready as an offensive alignment, defense alignment.
Now, Joe, y'all might have a little bit.
You all that.
Yeah, yeah, trying to, you know, all that.
Man, there's war every day.
And I'm telling you, I used to tell Mike on Wednesday, because we always,
Dibbo is one of them dudes where I looked up to it.
I know he knows it because, man, every time I try to beat him to the weight room every single
time.
I always, like, watched how he, you know, prepared for football, bro.
And he don't get enough credit for it.
And I know he gets a lot of credit for how he handled his body and all that,
took care of the body.
But the real thing was how fear he was and how every single day he had a preparation
plan.
On Wednesdays, it was all bullwrest.
I'm telling you right now, you're going to have a headache.
And I'm telling you it's going to be tough, stopping that thing all the way back to the
quarterback.
on Thursday's arm bar.
I didn't see him do screaming.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, blah.
Yelling to get out that thing.
So he just had a different preparation.
And when you've seen it and watched as a player
that's trying to be great and chase what he had,
man, you just loved it, right?
And he just admired him from a distance
because he didn't talk to a lot of people.
You know them conversations when he did.
Now, that's why I'm saying that why I'm laughing out
because you know, I'm talking about them conversations
in the locker room, but that was probably what, five words,
but you knew it was all love.
He gave you five words, boy, it was all love.
That's for sure.
For sure, for show.
Look here, man.
I don't think people understand, especially when you get into this game and you had a success that you had,
especially getting into the first year and going, you know, going to the Super Bowl.
And in that process, going through the rest of your career, how difficult was that to not get back to that pinnacle and had that opportunity to win another championship?
Because a lot of people don't understand, especially when you come into it like you did, how hard it is to get there.
and you think you're just going to be bright back there next year.
Man, me and Mike have them conversations all the time,
and it's crazy because I used to always call out there,
whenever we made it our rookie year.
I'm just like, man, I don't get it.
Like, this was easy, you know what I mean?
But then when I look back on it and knowing the team that we had,
the players, you know, the timing that we had,
it was the hardest thing.
It hurts inside because you're just like,
you somewhat take advantage of the moment, right?
And you're just like, dang, I'm seeing all y'all boys in there,
you know, crying and not understanding the, you know,
no way to the level of where we're at right now.
and then to never, ever get back to it
and to chase that your whole entire career.
Because all the other accolades, don't get me wrong,
they're cool.
A lot of team success brings individual success,
but, you know, I've always won the championship
on every single level.
That's what I was about to say.
Yeah, so the walk away with it on that part, Joe,
you probably feel the same as that way, you know,
I mean, so it's a weird feeling left inside.
You just, that's why I'm such a big fan, you know,
the Steelers not because, hell, I'm chasing that ring too.
And we win another.
Come on.
I don't get me a ring, Joe.
Okay, no.
You're going to get you a about,
You deserve it.
You did 11 straight.
I ain't going to lie to you.
Hey, man, your last game in, what was that, 2020, you, they got the picture of
you and Ben and y'all, y'all sitting on the bench after the loss in the wildcard game
to the Browns.
And, you know, that's one of the things that fans look at, and they're like, yo, man,
that's just, you know, it's a real touching moment.
And it's kind of heartbreaking for a lot of fans, you know, probably probably made a couple
people cry.
What did you know before that game?
Did you know before that game like already like they do with Aaron Rogers like,
yo, this is going to be his last year?
And, you know, how difficult was that to not be able to get to that, that pinnacle,
that peak and give him that walk off that, you know, you felt like he deserved?
I don't think at the time I knew, but after the game and just a disappointment of it,
you know, for me, and that's why I tell people all the time, like the accolades,
that you know the amount of success that you have none of that matters right you can get all the way to year 11 and everyone's
this perfect player and then you know you know you have a player you know to have a game there where it's just
unacceptable and you're in your view of things like right us as players like there's certain things that you do is
just like that having that snap was unacceptable i've never ever in my life had it you know i mean so like
was it a shocker to me hell yeah but there was so much stuff going on that year with the whole pandemic
and you know us getting tested every day and me being an older player and just it just was so outside of my uh my day-to-to-day
norm, right? And I think you get it as an older player, like as all of us do, you get set in your way sometimes and you get a little stubborn with certain things and you know, you kind of want things to roll your way. And when it doesn't, it just plays his mind boggle with you. So I think more than anything, it was just beat down from that part of it. But the walk off and then, you know, my brother had to go, we found out he had to get full hit replacement. And I'm just like, God, dang, why was all this stuff hitting you right now? You know what I mean? I didn't have been for the year, you know, the pandemic. And I didn't have been for the year, you know, I don't have been from sprints and, you know, I mean, I don't have been from sprints and, you know,
hit the weight room at, you know,
530 in the morning every single morning.
And, you know, go back for, you know,
the second workout and do it all the training and stretching.
I'm just like, boy, this is tough to do alone.
And I'd look back at it too.
And then, you know, y'all all know that I got three daughters.
Yeah.
I'm just like, man, they're all getting old.
They're getting older now.
And I just, you know, you feel like this part where you're missing too much, right?
Especially when I had my youngest daughter very young.
So for her, she's about, you know, she's at doing all this traveling stuff.
And then it just hit me one day because she called me like,
dang, dad, like, I don't want to come to the game.
I'm just like, damn, why?
I mean, like, what the heck?
That's crazy.
This are like, like, you know, a little thing that we always been doing.
And she's like, well, my friends want to hang out this weekend.
I'm just, I sat back and it just hit me.
I'm just like, hang out.
It's that same kid.
Like, you get to the point, like, you know, where life ain't just, don't get me wrong.
It's about, it's always about your parents.
You're their role mom.
Sure.
They're trying to find their lane, right?
They want to make sure that they have their next little error or whatever, you know, outside of being going home every day and seeing their parents.
So once I started to see that part, I'm just like, am I being selfish?
and I, you know, do I appreciate everything that we did and, you know, the path that we've been on.
And then you're looking at that somewhat as you get older, you look at the trajectory of what the team was.
And the team was getting younger and where we really at the point where we can really like go out there and, you know, compete for another championship.
And I know that Ben wanted me to come back and he wanted to, you know, fell rough.
Yeah, did.
Did you think about coming back?
Hell, yeah, I did.
And, you know, that was one of the hardest thing ever to, you know, to answer to that.
Because I think, you know, get to go, Mr. Rooney.
And, you know, they wanted to extend me.
You know, I had one year, like $9 million left on my contract.
And I'm just like to call him and put dead weight on the team and you know all that, you know, I know, I know, being in the NFLPA what the cap and all that stuff means to this.
Yeah.
So the hardest thing whenever I called Mr. Rooney, because that's the first person I called.
And whenever he said, man, Poundst, stop talking.
Like, whatever you want to do, I'm going to support it.
And it's just like all this down, like every, all the weight came on my shoulder.
I'm just like, man, I'm calling everybody at this point.
I can call Ben, you know, I called Ben last because I already knew he was going to be the one person that really tried to be the hardest.
Yeah, right.
Try to try to get you to try to sway you.
Hey, I understand.
Approval for everybody else.
Like, I know this is tough and I hate it, man.
You because trust me, I want to.
But, bro, like, and I told him, I was like, bro, I was a gladiator.
I mean, I just, at a certain point, man, you take too many blade cuts.
You know, no matter of that, we could be Marcus Aurelius, you know, you think you keep doing it.
You just can't.
I mean, so.
And plus, us, all of us being as good as players that we were, you don't never want to go out there
and just leave some film on there that you can't accept.
Now, whatever one is.
A thousand percent.
And now everyone else would be like, oh, he can.
became older player and yeah, I get all that, you know, that you slow down a little bit and, you know, maybe got to, you know, and, you know, re-configure, configure your game out and stuff like that and like, yeah.
The block and all the other stuff, but I couldn't sleep with myself knowing I would go out there and someone could just dominate me.
I just couldn't do it.
I walked away peacefully, you know, right, right, and, you know, just happy whenever, you know, everyone that was in the corner that I thought, you know, would question it was behind me.
Yeah, yeah, I went, I went through that same thing in 2013. I reached.
tired than 13. And then, you know, I was feeling good. I ain't going to even lie to you. I was like,
yo, I'm good. You know, it is what it is. And I was living, I thought I was living pretty good.
I was feeling good. And then I get the call from Keisel, four o'clock in the morning. Like,
what you're doing? I know, you're going to the gym. I'm like, yeah, I'm about to, you know,
I'm about to hit the gym. He's like, no, you got to come back. We need you back. He said,
they're about to call you. I said, bro, I'm not coming back. I said, I'm good. I'm happy where
I'm at I'm at. I'm good, bro. I ain't coming back. Then I got a call from, I got a call from, I got a call from
Troy.
Ooh.
Yeah.
Then I got a call.
Then I got a call from Ike, fresh out of surgery.
Ah, man, not to honk.
I said, I said, hey, I'll talk to my boys.
I said, my boys allow me to come back.
I'll come back.
Talk to my boys.
I'm like, hey, I get a chance to come back and play.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi, we have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi You Wanto.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
I'm not going to get anyone fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business, and I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Liar. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care.

Being in Pittsburgh, you all want me to do it because I wasn't going to let them start playing contact football until I was able to be to
to see to make sure they were being taught correctly.
Yeah.
And they were like, yeah, yeah, we want you to come back.
And I'm like, damn.
You know?
And so I went, right, dude, so I went back, you know.
And then when I went back into it, you know, obviously I fell back in love with
and ended up signing, you know, another few years, you know, after that.
But I understand that process of feeling like you don't want to let your brothers down.
And to be honest with you.
I ain't got a lot to you.
You're such a staple that your timing would have been cut way too short.
or people would have questioned everything
if you were to walk the way.
You had too much in the tank.
I ain't going to lie to you.
Like, just because what you brought to the,
it's crazy because unless you was there,
people don't understand it.
Like, what you brought to the, you know,
Pittsburgh, the defense and what the, you know,
the stigma is still to today.
What you guys did and that, you know,
that, that, that, oh, 8, you know,
championship and what the defense was then,
it would have been crazy for you to walk away.
Like, it would have been like one of them things,
you know, like Andrew,
Andrew Luck walking away, you know,
I mean, for you walk away at football at that time,
it would have been the same.
type of thing for the NFL, man, how can someone so dominant the time?
Because I, here, in 2013, when you're knocking people out, when you're getting
Yes.
Now, you know, you came back, you know, a million dollars in the NFL for hitting people,
so.
No, man, that was, they was finding me sitting 10, 11, 12, 13.
They stopped, I ain't go lie, they stopped finding me in 13.
They stopped finding me in 13.
I think it might have been towards the end of, actually, maybe towards the end of 12.
I'll say this.
I'll say this.
It was a conversation,
and the conversation was along the lines of me
not talking about the commission.
I said, cool.
I say, if he don't, I quote, quote,
I said, if he don't fuck with me, I won't fuck with him.
And I know he didn't.
And I didn't.
And they didn't mess with me, bro.
I ain't going to lie to you.
I had two plays where I'm like,
oh, they're going to get me.
They go get me.
They're going to find me on that.
I went to rip a ball out.
And I missed the ball on the way out, but I caught dude's helmet.
Took the whole helmet off.
Took the whole helmet off.
I ain't, I ain't getting nothing.
You paid him.
No, I didn't get nothing.
I didn't get mail.
I know what's going on right now.
What you paid on it to the table?
You're in the country.
No, I ain't getting mailed or nothing.
That's what it is.
Hey, they're crazy.
Mama Harrison must have called in.
I know it happened.
Somebody made a call.
Yeah, I know it going down.
I just talked to Roger at the draft this year, man.
Me and him cool.
we got along, man.
I've been accepting my lord and saving, man.
My whole mentality going to change, right?
Yeah, man.
I know you've been watching,
you've been watching any of the preseason
with the O-line for the stillers and all that?
Yeah, man, I actually, I like the tradition.
And I hate to say this, man, sometimes.
But, man, I ain't a lot.
You see them boys blocking a big dexter this past weekend?
Yes.
I'm just telling you, like, man,
for them boys to go out there and play that well against,
you know, a player like that in that,
and that just shows you that we're heading the right direction.
Now, are we personally?
That's something I was going to ask you, too,
is like what do you think of that whole turnaround?
Because I know they switched it up on the right side.
Right side of the offensive line,
especially going from what we were in the preseason
to what we ended up showing this past week.
How much of that, I would say,
communication that working with the same guy
that's on your left or right,
how much of that actually affects
what you are able to do on the line.
Man, it's a big time factor in it.
That's why when the kid, Broder,
he just said it for him to switch up
because, I mean, I get you right down
the first player of the game
and, you know, everything's running smoothly,
but the heat of the moment where you're tired,
play nine, you're out there going against one of the best players
and now you have to go to the right side
and now you're thinking of your calls
and your slides and, you know, the potential thing,
man, it's a, I don't care what anyone says
professionally or not, it's hard to do.
It's like, even at your older level
that you're playing and you switching to the other side,
man, you're at some point,
you're going to be like, man, this is a little bit difficult than what I'm normally used to, you know, I mean, what I'm normally
adjustments and everything, the player I'm playing next to, because sometimes the player you're playing next to is the keyest name,
because his communication sometimes a little bit faster, or him saying the double team or him, you know what I mean?
So all that plays a huge huge factor, but I will say, as having a young offensive line, man, they're looking impressive.
For them, you know, I know, I know, I know that one blitz player where Aaron got hit, but, you know,
sometimes that's on the QB as well, and making sure the checks and all the picks up is the right way, you know, I mean,
because with the younger guys, and I got lucky, man.
I came in with Willie Colon, Matt Starks, Kiyatu, you know what I mean?
So for me, I'm the young guy and I'm with all the older veterans.
So whenever, if they messed up, it was a really, really issue.
I mean, if I was the younger guy and did it, you know, I took a little bit of heat,
but it was more on them not, you know, helping the guide part, help me through it, you know.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, our first round draft source, you're talking about Max.
Max?
That's sure.
No, I'm talking about when I was there with Matt and Matt Stark.
So whenever I know.
No, no, no, I'm saying, I'm talking about our first round traffic on that switch on that right side.
And they finally put him in there.
It was a lot of people that was given flack because they selected him in the first round,
you know, picked him as a tackle.
They thought that, you know, we should have did something else.
Looking back on that now, that pick.
And then actually, I think he was the second greatest high pass blocker last week.
For the craziest part of the whole NFL.
You know, you're saying that.
And I'm telling you right not because I wanted that receiver very bad.
You know, obviously because it's time.
We all try to play general manager and owner of the team with the time.
But you're right, man.
I didn't know enough of the kid.
I didn't see him, but, man.
So I was really shocked at the draft day.
But, man, to go watch.
Yeah, see, you probably, you live in Pittsburgh.
Hey, hey, no, listen, listen.
Yeah, he in the bird.
So, Ponzi, um, Hines Ward is a coach over there, Arizona State.
And I talked to Hines.
And I was like, yo, he was like, he was like, he is stiller, dude.
He was like, and he's young.
He's like, dude, he's only been playing football itself.
I think he said four or five years.
Oh, that's amazing.
Like, yeah.
And he's like, he's like, he's like,
He's willing to work.
He can be coached hard.
He wants to be coached hard.
He's like, dude, he's everything that we, and he was like the upside, dude.
It's just unbelievable.
Yeah, he got good being too.
I could tell his past rush, looked amazing.
For him, though, hold his hands like that and not to punch too early.
I've seen some of the people.
I'm like, okay, you know what?
He got to figure it out a little bit.
Young dudes, the first thing they want to do is get their hands out there to try
and keep them away.
Nah, give me that hand because what I'm going to do,
I'm going to catch that wrist and I'm going to turn it.
Oh, start using it against you.
Yes.
You remember what I told?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I talk about it right now.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I go, I slap to rip.
And as I slap to rip, I try and catch that wrist.
So if I could catch that wrist, I now can hook here.
And as I go around the corner to make him turn, I'll twist his wrist like that.
And that's when they start hollering.
Yeah.
Villain a waiver.
I mean, I think he had to get the little elbow surgery right out.
Get the elbow clean up.
Remember you?
I did not do that to him.
Yep, tell him out.
The own teammate.
I did not do that to him, bro.
You did 100%.
And you lifted them up one time and drove them all the way to the ground.
Remember that?
You know, Al would get on here to tell you to him.
Yeah.
No, I told Al.
I told Al.
I said, Al, I'm going to bore rush you every day today.
I said, I'm going to just stop me.
I don't know if you didn't believe it or not.
No, he did.
He didn't.
And he definitely felt it because, boy, you were you was talking about all the time.
at Porch Talk.
And all y'all know what I'm talking about
when we hung out on Thursday.
Yes.
Thank you.
So Pounce, Pounce, as both, being both of our teammates,
you was teammates with me in Florida
and teammates of me in Pittsburgh.
You was teammates with this Wild Man right here.
Which one of us is Wilder?
Me or Debo?
Joe, you, man, I told you I love your wife, man.
Hey, thank you.
Ms. Hayden.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I'm going to go with James Harrison, man.
He'll a little bit more wife.
out of, man.
Oh, my God.
I can't, man.
Joe, I was at the way.
Hey, Joe, Debo, I was in the win, man.
I was in the win, man.
We go way back, pounce.
Day to days, pounce.
You know how we do.
You know, we here with it, pounced.
We locked in.
You know how we're getting out
with the Hayden family.
Yes, sir.
And you know, the craziest part,
everybody always called, you know,
our company's called J.F. Haydens.
Yes.
Everyone's like, man, did y'all name this out of Joe?
And I don't see how you guys.
I say, man, hey, I see why y'all
I think that, but it's the hangar mango.
We're starting to look more and more like, Pounce.
When you got, we lost the weight.
We're looking, but we, we, we, how much you weighing now, brad Pound?
Hey, 220, but I'm hitting like 400.
I know I'm hitting like 400 for sure.
Yeah.
Look at pounds.
You look great, my brother.
I got a question.
Was you keeping on the weight when you was planned because it was mandatory?
Like, you had to eat to stay to keep your weight up?
Bro, do you know, I never made it?
My last four or five years, I was weighing 285.
You know, I weigh in.
And me and Guy had such a great relationship, you know, me in the front office.
Oh, for sure.
And he used to always say something to me, too, like pounds.
I'm like, hey, until that film looked different, we'll hollered each other.
Yeah, what it looked like?
Still, make sure you put on that paper, I'm 305.
Hey, hey, I ain't going to rely to you, bro.
I didn't even have a weight-scale thing that I, they had me at.
And people are scared of you, boy.
Man, they only talk to you.
They only talk back to you when you talk to them, bro, real talk.
Yes, Debo, nobody's going to say anything first.
Joe, Joe, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was to go back and look at that film, too.
I'm going to look at that film and see how big you were.
Good thing you got you played in that game.
It was 302.
For real, bro.
For real, for real, for real.
How everything else been with child boys, man.
Tell me what's new at life, man.
Damn.
I don't get to talk about, man.
When I'm running a, when you run a full-time alcohol company
there's in 28 different states now, bro, I'm so moving.
Yeah, man.
Talk to you about, man.
Tell us about the team.
Tell us about the hate.
How's that going?
How's that going?
So, man, we got very, very luckily and blessed, man.
We started the company during the pandemic.
Obviously, everyone went home, became mixologists and bartenders.
So for us, you know, sales were doing unbelievable.
We had very, very lucky, you know,
just growing out the company.
you know, most people pick, you know, the base spirit side of things, right?
So the vodka, the keel, the run, the gin, we pick the secondary spirit.
So we're the first, you know, I hate to even say these words, you know, celebrity or, you know,
whatever that, fake attitude.
Because, bro, me and might minimize that, right?
Man, we don't care what we made in our life or what we did in our life.
Like, everyone's the exact same.
Don't get me wrong.
Yes.
We might have some cooler stuff.
And, yeah, we got a ranch, is amazing and all those other.
But people are the exact same.
Come on, pal.
Good people are good people.
Heck, yeah, bro.
You get out there and you kind of, and what we learned the most Joe at, at Florida
is us being out how to communicate, right?
Us get out to the football world and, you know,
make sure that you had relationships.
And because sometimes, man,
just calling a football coach and hanging out with the football side of things.
Don't get me wrong.
It's what made us to do what men we are today.
But it doesn't get you to the men, you're an afterlife, right?
The reality side of things.
But what it does get you up to get you in the front door,
you know, to show the people that you're a good person,
you know, the relationship part of things.
But we pick the secondary spirit part of things.
So if y'all know, y'all are probably know like Kululah or Rumchata,
we have that same type of brain, you know,
the cordial side, the liqueur, that's 20% alcohol that you have to mix with, you know,
a base spirit to make a cocktail.
We have espresso lique, a lechia lique, mango lique, a kielan lique, a keelan pie that,
yeah, a couple of, yeah, we also do some cool stuff with artists.
Damn, I'm hungry.
Yeah, right, by our keyline pie, you go anywhere in the keys, you don't have a key lime
margarita, key lime calada, all the type of different drinks.
But for us to be in 28 different states to have the national accounts, we did,
the presence that we have right now, we do have the largest cordial brand in United
States of America right now.
So we take a lot of pride.
Okay.
Come on a pound.
Yeah.
That's what so.
And, bro, and the, be tatted for neck to toe and the walk in, you know.
And then you had to be at some of the tables we're sitting at.
It's a cool little thing to be a part of, right?
They see these bigger companies wanting to partner up with us, you know, do cocktail programs for, you know, bigger, you know, bigger companies around the U.S.
But for our company up, we got brought in by the Hard Rock nationwide, right?
So every single cafe, live, casino and hotel picked up J.F. Hayden's and made it a brand at green.
Yeah.
Yeah.
overnight.
Okay.
But yeah.
Now we probably have
six national partners.
We finished off last year
with our 30,000 cases.
We're on track to do
42,000 cases this year.
Okay.
Cool.
I know y'all got the kids.
So if y'all go to Halloween Horror Nights,
and I know y'all,
the kids can't drink,
but if y'all go there,
we make the can RTVs for Halloween Horror Nights,
both in Orlando and California.
It's called, it used to be called Curse Cranberry
the first two years.
This year is Paniac Mix.
So it's a strawberry blood oners
RTD.
But then we also do the Blachin-fire whiskey
for Harry Potter's world, both in Orlando, California.
So we strategically grew the company the right way,
making sure we're having the right partners.
And you understand that if you get out there, bro,
and just like how we did in football,
if you assert y'all, so just like how well y'all's podcast is doing,
y'all probably spend a lot of time, you know,
thinking of creative things and bringing the people on,
you could be successful.
Now, if you think someone's just going to open up the door
and hand you things, man, you can come.
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Because all of that work you put in to get what you had to get to the league,
it's the same type of thing,
but it's just different avenues, you know what I'm saying?
Don't get me wrong.
Is it hard work, bro?
Is the ups and downs?
Absolutely, man.
But you start to see that, man, the downs, man, help you know, fight for the ups.
You know what I mean?
1,000 percent.
And also the downs, too, bro.
It also shows you, man, that life is reality, right?
You got to learn different ways or, you know, pitching things or innovating that, you know,
things that have people back drinking or, you know, events or what things you don't really
allocate money to or what person you're going to hire because every person that you hire,
you know, brings either a stain to the company or brings you, you know, glory to
the company, so.
Yep.
Every day you're getting better, you're getting worse.
Right.
Not staying the same.
Never.
Never.
You can never stay the same.
That's just running in place.
Don't nobody want to do that right there.
Hey, look here, man.
You, uh, you paying the attention to the, to the, uh, Joey Porter situation.
Oh, man.
No.
Oh, you're talking about, bro.
You're talking about, uh, the junior.
Yes.
Yeah.
Man, you see, you got to say junior.
I thought I thought, I said Joey Porter to my P's.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
way.
Little Peasy.
Man, for me.
Little Peasy.
Little big, I call it
Little Big Peasy.
Yeah, right.
Right.
We're going to talk.
But I will say, man, I'm a little shock.
Honestly, I thought he would get paid.
Whenever you have a generational talent, like how he is,
and the way he, what he brings, not just to himself as a player, but the guys around
them, right?
Man, when you have a player out there that's aggressive with guys making
tackles and blocking, you know, breaking up passes and, you know, get intercepting the ball.
I don't know how to really explain it, but it's like these football
guys, it just makes the other players around you play better. So I will say that I don't know what's
going on internally or why the whole thing didn't happen, but he's one of them players that I would
try my hardest to make sure that you kept around and make sure that, you know, for the next,
for the future. But and I get sometimes, man, things get a little, you know how it is, man,
things get weird, get personal. But sometimes as I got older, things didn't get personal to
me, right? It just, you understand business. And you start to see, like, I explain this all the time
of people because just like with our coach myr at university at florida when i was there that i did i
like them that i respect them that i appreciate who he was hell yeah but when i left out of the
university of florida i fell in love and i just understood that man he was doing stuff to us
to make us men you know i mean to help us grow up faster because he was already at that point he
already seen you know that path before so align yeah so that i i kind of like you know relate things
back to that but man i just sometimes i just now i just wish you know guys like that and
such great players you know sometimes it brings a negative impact to the team when you don't pay him
right away, you know, that now it's just, you know, the outside chatter becomes a conversation
when it, when it shouldn't be.
But, uh-huh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, man, listen, y'all both was drafted in the first round, okay?
I don't know nothing about that being in the first round.
Shit, I don't know nothing about you.
No, no, but, yeah, I don't know about, hey.
I don't know NATO.
NATO, no, NATO, Jenkins.
You know, NATO Jenkins?
No, no.
Oh, I don't know NATO, NATO.
You know, I don't know NATO, NATO.
Look here.
Hey, man, what was that like?
What did y'all do to celebrate, man?
Joe, what did you do?
Joe was in New York.
I was in New York.
I walked across the stage with the family.
After that, hit the 40-40 club with the family.
And then after that, I left the family and went to the greenhouse with, you know what I'm saying?
Me, stand brad for all the boys.
We hit the town.
Not the green house.
We hit the green house.
It was a good time.
He went with all his home boys, too.
Yeah, we did.
Yeah.
And, but for me, I ain't had a luxury as Joe.
I knew I was going to, you know, be drafted high.
But Joe was a top five.
They sent him.
Yeah, he was top five.
So I did my, I chose to do my party at the house in Lakeland.
So ESPN came down there and I had a blog.
I had 350 people out there.
The police came and shut it down.
Okay.
Yeah, you know how we get down in Lakeland, man.
I know how you get down in Lakeland.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Polk County.
I ain't going to say to this.
No, do you get a permit for that?
No.
He was in the city.
Hey, hey, tattered up the way we was.
And at the time, don't get me wrong,
we did some cool stuff back in Lakeland,
but we didn't get back like the way we did now.
I mean, so yeah, Brady Judge said, man,
he's setting the whole army over there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
It's crazy.
Lisa, tell them about our new show.
