Starting point is 00:04:25 Huh? I'm just getting my gloves on. I'm just locking in. Did you watch... Debo, how you doing, my brother? How you doing? How you doing? Because you know how I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Yeah, we play to win the game, Debo. All right, yeah, I was there and I rushed back. I had a flight six o'clock this morning to make sure I made it back to my home to sit here and have this conversation with you about that game that I was in person for. Joe, Joe, please, please make sure you guys. Please make sure you keep this same energy for the rest of the duration of your life. Oh, huh?
Starting point is 00:05:15 No, no. For my life. Don't you. Never in your life again, throw on black and gold. Huh? And call yourself a stiller. Or call yourself anything that is related to that. Listen, I already told you what it is now.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I'm tired of this. my heart and soul is with the Cleveland Browns. I told you that. Whenever the Steelers don't play the Browns, I'm rocking with them. But they guess who they played Thursday night? They played the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. And I was there with the land.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Turned. It was loud in there. Okay? So, you know, in the next week, the Steelers, we got the Colts. I'm going to be there with you. We're going to be rooting on our boys, figuring it out. But as of right now, Debo, you already know what time it is.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yo. What's up? Fidel going to the middle metal. Look here, man. Let's go ahead, jump into this. Let's get into it. Browns found a way to beat distillers, which I'm kind of not surprised because it's a Thursday night game. And it's kind of at your place.
Starting point is 00:06:29 So, you know, when it come down to it. You didn't know the history? I didn't know that the Browns won the last four. versus distillers on Thursday night? So, you know, this is just, it's, you know, it is what it is. But Brown start off at the ball. Okay. Watson going out there, he hit Boston for a hot little five.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Nice catch, nice tackle. Yes. Store it up. Second down, we stop your boy for about two. Yes. Third down, you know, Watson, he goes to bond. And again. Great tackle.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Great tackle. Right dare. Right there, playing with a broke wrist, all that right on top of it. Yes, he will. We stopped y'all short. You got to punt the rock over. Yes. Okay?
Starting point is 00:07:12 You punt the rock over and we get the bell. Yeah. You know what happened. Warren. Hey, four yards real quick. Yes. In completion on the next one. Ain't really tripping on it.
Starting point is 00:07:22 All right. Then we get a false start. That move us to third and 11. Yeah. But when he tripping because with D.K. D.K. he out there. He went and got us a good 15 in the first time. Out there, Tom.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Mm. What it is what it is. Yeah, yeah. All right. We get to that second and nine, and Rogers goes to Washington. He makes it a hot little third and three. Okay. And then right there, Rogers to D.K.,
Starting point is 00:07:47 he pick up a salmon in the first along the way. Yes. That's when the penalty come in for the taunton. Yeah. Okay. Uh-huh. The next one, what was it? An illegal contact by your boy Ward over there?
Starting point is 00:08:01 The other ward. Yes. He gets nervous and scared and all that. And then 10, Rodgers going to head, dump it to Jalen. Jalen, go ahead, aha, give you 11 and a first down. Mm-hmm. Okay? Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Let me get into the neutral zone and fraction because your boy, hey, y'all, we was getting, a lot of, look, we had a lot of penalties. That move was to a first and five. They get that ball to one. He picked up a high six on y'all. Yep. Yeah, second to nine. You know, Roger, he gets sack and making it.
Starting point is 00:08:32 like third and 16, something like that. And Roger hits Bidman for a hot, hot little nine. But, but y'all had like two, three, four, five, six penalties on there. We could have called a rough in the past. Yes. Unnecessary roughness. Yeah, it didn't matter.
Starting point is 00:08:49 No, it was a, yeah. It didn't matter. First down. Uh-huh. We get to second and ten. Hey, Warren say, B'Bah, get a hot two. And then Homer come in there and pick it up on the first down and next play.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Yep. we get dropped for a three yard lost in. It's fine. I ain't tripping. It's second and gold from the 12 because, you know, it happens. And I think somebody got a 12, 12 yard. A little jet sweet.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Hey, listen. Here you go, Wilson. Good blocking. Good blocking on that edge. Great blocking on the perimeter. Great drive. A yard touchdown, 7-0. 7-0.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Clearly get back out there. Here, Watson gone ahead. He hit your boy Casey for a hot 21. I don't know what's going on there. Yes, sir. That was a dot. I mean, things happen. Sometimes, you know, hey, sunshine all every dog's ass once in a while.
Starting point is 00:09:40 You are right. You know what I'm saying? Next play, Watson goes to Boston. Uh-huh. And the plea. Get that. Uh-uh. Uh-uh.
Starting point is 00:09:49 That's good. That's good. Second down, we stopped your boy Junction again. Uh-huh. Ain't getting nothing but a yard. Ain't getting nothing but a yard. Third down to nine. Watson goes back to your boy, Boston.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Incomplete. That was passing the parents. That was not a PI because I did not see a flag called, Joe. In the back of his thing. How is going to be a PI, Joe? If the flag wasn't called. If the flag ain't called. Debo, okay, we're not going to have an honest conversation here.
Starting point is 00:10:20 I can see where you're going with it. Okay, for sure. It was a PI, you know it. But he didn't throw the flag. So it's not, we didn't get the arts. That wasn't miss call, though. Can you say it was a miscall? Damn right.
Starting point is 00:10:32 It was a miscar. Okay. All right. That's all I needed. That's all I needed. But it wasn't a flag. So we got to live with it. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Got to live with. You got to go on here and do what, Joe? We got to punt. You got to punt that ball, though. We got to punt, for sure. You got to punt that ball, Joe. Mm-hmm. Then y'all go down there.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And I swear, I could have swore that man, that man right foot stepped on that line. Man, I promise you that pinky toe was on that line, but, you know, look. If you touch the line, yes. On the line, that's past line. If you touch the line, it's out. You're on the line.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Yeah. So, yeah, I'm with you with that, D. But I can be honest. I thought this told us on the line. But you know what? Beggis can't be chooses. They gave it to us. Anyway, your boy, your boy, verse over there, he wanted to help us out.
Starting point is 00:11:17 He went on ahead, gave us that good fight. Y'all has a breathing room for that encroachment. Okay? Yes. Warren, get out there, go on ahead. Give it to him on that first and five. He'd get eight. Good, Ron.
Starting point is 00:11:28 You're the first dime. Okay. And then Roger, hey, he go to Warren. He gets another eight. Get, boom. And it's ready to give it to him again. He gets six for the first. Ah.
Starting point is 00:11:41 We're out there working. Yep. First down again. Now what we got on this first down. Yeah. You over there talking about the war. Interception. Hey, listen.
Starting point is 00:11:51 The man arm, elbow got hitting all that. Because he was about the way your boy undercut that. If he had, if he ain't touch his elbow, that was the position. Top of his head. The position that Denzel Ward was in, it didn't matter if he threw a back shoulder, he threw a front shoulder. He was going to throw it. He was going to go to catch it.
Starting point is 00:12:10 That boy, Denzel Ward was in perfect position. With his head around, made the play on the ball. Baller. Yeah. Give me that. Yeah. Get you that. Y'all get the ball back.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Uh-huh. This is where the defense just started doing some crazy stuff right here, man. Yeah. Yeah. No plays less than two minutes, bro. We let these boys go 56 yards and score a touchdown. Yes. First down was just a run for three.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Okay, cool. Second down. Wide open in the flat. What? Wide out. Why not? Why are, we just, we don't know a lot of zones. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:12:48 We weren't a lot of, we're in a lot of zones. And nobody's getting today's zones. You got to get to your zone drops. Get your eyes on the quarterback, but get to yours drops. Dude, I don't know what you know. I'm telling you. It's just looking, and you keep seeing it every single week. I'm like, bro, what are y'all standing there looking at?
Starting point is 00:13:06 It's zone drops. Get to your spaces. You got your cornerbacks looking nuts when they're in those zones because you're not playing, man. You're trying to keep dudes from looking crazy, pressing people up. But get to your zone drops. Right. It's first down now.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Watson dumps it off to Junkins. He goes 12. I don't know who messed up here. Like, like, like, like, like, no. No, no, that's the one where Queen missed the whole tackle. Yes, yes. He just, he just, he just missed the whole. It, it didn't even matter.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Like, I don't, it didn't. Brough. Yeah. Next play, what was it? Almost 30? About 28. TD. Dude.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Yeah. 28 TD, cutting through everything. Like four, four players diving around trying to get there. Huh. Cutting back. I'm like, that's just bad tackling. Brough, I don't know what. And this world is going on.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Like somebody ain't doing something right. I don't, I don't know if we even have enough guys to, I don't know, bro. Like our reaction time is horrible. We're not getting up to the thing. And I can't really tell. Like, is he supposed to spill that? And the queen can shoot down, get down there. But then we so wide on the edge, like, I don't know who's supposed to come in.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Like, we got these corners coming in here trying to play linebacker, man. We got a dude over here brisker, he got on two arm braces. Man, two shoulder joints. Like, because, like, we got a V-D us. He's playing lineback. He's firing off on people, though. I ain't going to lie. He's the answer trying to.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Like, I don't, like, 33 drop down there. I'm thinking he's supposed to spill. He's spilling. If he's spill it, Queen, got to shoot down. He got to shoot down and get down there right now. And then on top of that, you letting KC block you? Oh, he's, yeah. You letting KC block you.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Queen, come on, bro. Yeah. We got 20 missed tack, 40 minutes. I don't know what's going on. That was a lot. Yes. Fire off on. him, bro. He's right. Fire off
Starting point is 00:15:02 on him. Yep. It's a receiver. He's standing there. Look, he's victim weight. Casey Concepcion, he under 200. This man got one carry all night. McLaughlin, 28 yards for a touchdown. Boom.
Starting point is 00:15:19 It's 7-7. Now. Yes, it is. And we go out there. What y'all going to do? Three and out. Yep. Hey, they try to get the Mount Washington earlier. Fum, bum, bum, bum. That's how you tackle. You got the shoot. It took the whole defense. You got, that's when it took 11.
Starting point is 00:15:35 You better get to the ball. All right. We put the ball back over. And what do we immediately do? We say, Boom! Another full plays. Boy.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Another full plays. Just over two minutes. Y'all, it was the first, it was the, 75 yards. Boy, first play. Blue. And you know what that is, Debo? First play, that's 60 yards, bro. 60.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Bro. Give me 60. Bro. What are you doing? Can I tell you something? That right there is Terrible communication. You got your safety. Terrible communication.
Starting point is 00:16:11 No, Debo, Debo, I'm trying to tell you, no, it's covered two. You had your corner playing squat. Everett's over there playing squat. His half field was rolled over next to the other half field. So we had two safety standing next to each other playing the same half. As soon as he realized, oh, I rolled to the wrong side, he took off, running back over to where he was supposed to be. So that's on the safety. That has nothing to do with Ever.
Starting point is 00:16:34 I understand what you're saying, but he ain't got no threat there. I understand. You got to keep widening. You got to go. But God, dang, your whole safety is not there at all. Like, nobody's there. That's what I'm saying. He's in cover two.
Starting point is 00:16:48 He's in squat. So at the same time, he should be a little bit under him. He needs to carry it if nothing's in your flat. But you don't have a top safety. You have no half-field player. That's crazy. You're a cloud corner. bruh that yeah it's blues that's how you get blues like 60 yards brus 60 yards one play and now we down here tell what was it the next play it was a uh what they ended up getting to like a what was a first and five or something yeah we got a boot to k c conception right there case he caught five right there yeah case he caught five right there and then so
Starting point is 00:17:30 second down. Don't know. The junk is he trying to get to the, he got to the two. We can't make a tackle to save our life. Watson was evading. Like, everybody,
Starting point is 00:17:42 like I thought he got out of a couple of troublesome situations, my brother. Next play, two yards, Junkins, 14-7, brother. Yes. Points all turnovers.
Starting point is 00:17:57 We get back out there. Rogers to Fronkins to, to fry before a high nine. Then warm, he picks up the first down with six on the next play. And then I think he ends up taking it like 24. Y'all's still a problem's over there on that run. No, no, no, no, for sure. There were 24 y'all run was wicked.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Okay. Yeah. We get an end completion. Second down, Roger's to Pitman, for a high little six, put us to like a third and three. And then we get sacked. We get knocked. Back to, make it a little bit, back to 48 yards.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Right. We try for the 48 yard field, though. And Bob's misses. All right. Bank roll. The music you love. Your favorite radio stations. Everywhere you go.

So we met with a lot of larger farmers, went from Bahia to Tokatines to Madagroso. And he brought a team of executives. They were going to help the country get in on a gold rush. Carbon and its derivatives are going to be really the next great commodity that the globe's going to trade. But back home in Iowa, trouble was brewing.
Starting point is 00:19:41 If you live in Iowa, your land, your water, and your voice could all be at risk thanks to a man named Bruce Rastetter. Now, people are questioning if his climate solutions have anything to do with climate at all. You got to give Bruce and the guy's credit. They're Republican. They don't give a lot. On this season of drilled, Carbon Cowboys, the story of how the ethanol kingpin of Iowa became the king of corn in Brazil, and what it tells us about the limits of technology and markets to solve the climate crisis. Listen on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The WNBA playoffs are about to begin. The talent is insane and the personalities are giving main character energy.
Starting point is 00:20:24 And of course, the fans love it. But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story. I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up. But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The comments were to real deal. I mean, come on. The Liberty never gave up.
Starting point is 00:20:47 They never stopped fighting. I knew that rivalry was going to be amazing from the beginning. I'm Kerry Champion, and this is biggest rivalries of all time. Season two, the New York Liberty versus the Houston Commons, the very first rivalry of the WNBA. They picked us to finish last, and they picked them to finish first. That's all you need to know.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I remember looking around thinking, this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. Listen to biggest rivalries of all time on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is there bad blood between you and the
Starting point is 00:21:26 comments as you guys meet again in the championship. Oh, we're coming back to win. Hi, I'm Bob Pipman, chairman and CEO of IHeartMedia and host of the podcast, Math and Magic, stories from the Frontiers of Marketing. I have some new exciting interviews coming to the Math and Magic feed this fall. IHeart's own Hoda Kotbe is joining me to talk about her new business venture and podcast, Joy 101. Your timeline is not anybody else's. stay in the game and let them find you.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I'm also talking to Capital One's Mark Mentry. Be there in the key moments to build relationships. Because then when things go well, you can say, congratulations, guys. We do it at the end of I Heart Festival and Jingleball. And marketing executive Diego Scottie. The fourth stakeholder that to me is critical is society as a whole. That purpose-driven marketing should be part of your mainstream marketing, not just something that you do on the side.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Listen to math and magic stories from the frontiers of marketing on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi guys, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. If you know me, you know, I'm always searching for inspiration and useful tools so that we can maximize joy. This podcast lets us uncover those things together through meaningful conversations with fascinating people. Like my longtime friend Seth Myers opened up about.
Starting point is 00:22:56 how his road to success included some difficult detours. We would do a table read on Wednesday, and I would often go back to my office and be like, you're not as funny as they are. And the most haunting thing about that is you can't outwork talent. And comedian Hassan Minaj shared where he met his now wife. I was like, was our experience like a frat? It's like, no.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Because in frats, like, everyone is having sex, but no one is in love. But on the, like, competitive Bollywood dance team, everyone's in love, but no one's having sex. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Got to be more careful. And then the defense gets right back out there. Yep.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Watson to Casey for seven. Mm-hmm. And then, what was it? Second down, Junkins, he gets, what, a hot little two. He gets third one. We heard myself. We all start. All these penalties.
Starting point is 00:23:55 These self-inflicted wound. Yeah, and then, you know, y'all make a play. Y'all get one to Boston. It's a good play, good coverage. You're right there in the top of the ball. You know, that's what happens. That's what it should look like. Like, we should have more plays that look like that.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Catch tackle, get the ball down. Yeah, like get the runner down. Mm-hmm. You know, like it was better coverage, whatever. Right. That's just, okay, anyway. Mm-hmm. Y'all end up getting to like a, what was it, a second in 10?
Starting point is 00:24:26 Yes, and then we get the juke in and get it to Casey Concepcion to start making people miss. Bro, we get the hell blocked out of us on that play. Y'all dare you do. It's like everybody doesn't forgot how to get off a block. Like, we don't, we don't know how to disengage, how to get ourselves free. One for one, you're going one for one. Can't go one for one. We can't go one for one.
Starting point is 00:24:53 It's not a such thing as going one for one. I know, I know. I know. It's second down to nine. They're going to head. Watson again, he's going to your boy junk. The Junkins. Making you miss.
Starting point is 00:25:06 We got a tackle. Junkins. He? If we can make a tackle, bro. Just hold on, do something. Like, I don't even know what to do no more. Like, because I'm just, I'm just yelling at myself. But I know I've been seeing it like the whole time.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Like, I've been seeing it. Like this, first down junkies, get a half four. And then it's a whole known queen. It would have been, it's first down anyway. So it didn't really matter. Now y'all was a goal, first goal, five or something like that. Yes. We miss a sack.
Starting point is 00:25:45 What? I thought he's on the ground. He's escaping. He's looking way more athletic, Debo, than I was expecting. I'm like, you know, some of them, though, they have some of the fight. Yeah, he's a battle. We're not playing good ball.
Starting point is 00:25:58 We ain't playing. We're not even making a place. It takes two to the setup, man. I'll take two to the set up, man. Like, I... Yeah. I don't know what, bro. We're calling...
Starting point is 00:26:16 We're calling shit defenses, too, on, on, like, like, for whatever it is that's out there. And then when we do get the defense that's all good, we don't make. the damn player or to tackle. Yes. This is the defense. They're not tackling well. When you're in the secondary, the coaches are trying to, you don't have the corners to play man to man.
Starting point is 00:26:38 So they're trying to protect the corners from playing man. So they're putting you in zone. And then when you have, when the corners are playing zone, that puts the linebackers in coverage. And you're not finding your zone drops. You don't know concepts of passing. So everything's looking a little off.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Because if you can play man to man and they can lock them dudes up, then it did. it opens up a lot of things. When you start going zone, everybody got to drop back, eyes on the quarterback. That's all good. But when you could play some man to man, like Denzel, like Denzel Ward and Campbell over there, they was locking up. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:27:08 You know what I'm saying? Okay, go ahead. Burn go, Watson goes to fan and he gets the two-yard touchdown, brother. Yep. That was, you know. That was good, tight. It was a decent, it was a decent throw. Good ball.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Jay Lamarrant right there. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it happens. It happens. We get the ball back. We only got like a minute. 22 left right there. Second down, Roger goes
Starting point is 00:27:30 to Wilson for 49. Shoot, that was a dot. And that's when we playing man to man and go to the matchups. That's when we started attacking my man 26 a little bit. It's not a man hard. Yeah, then y'all get a hold
Starting point is 00:27:46 followed by some legal hands to the face. Yes, that was legit. Uh-huh. Took away aside. Anyway, having to settle for a 31-yard field goal because we can't get through. Yep.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Better than nothing. 21 to 10, half time. We go get the ball back to start the third quarter. Ain't tripping. Yes. 21, 10-and-a-half, you feeling good? I wasn't feeling good. Hell no.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Why would I feel good as 21 to 10? No, I mean that you're going to be able to come back, though. You think I was feeling good about we was able to come back and we just gave up three third times in the second quarter? Hell no. Damn. Okay, okay. Okay, that was a dumb question.
Starting point is 00:28:34 That was a dumb question. You're asking stupid questions, man. Take that punk-ass brown hat on. No, no. No, you're going to keep on. We get out there, man. We go three and out. Didn't we almost get picked on the first play on that one?
Starting point is 00:28:48 I don't, yeah. Is that that that one? I don't know, man. It didn't matter, man. No, that wasn't the one. We go, we go three and out. First down, y'all get the first down. Offsides, like second or four.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Yeah. We get, what was it? Like, swing past year five. We started carrying people. He got hit with two yards and then started carrying dragging for the last spot for the last three. We can't tackle. We can't get nobody down.
Starting point is 00:29:16 To hell, even when we on them, we can, we're getting drug. We getting drugs. Y'all end up getting us out of there, though. Third night, that's because, false. Start. Yeah. Self and flicking. And then T.J. makes a hell of a play.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Yeah. Huh? Yeah. What do you talk about? Yeah. Y'all got to punt the ball. T.J. made a hell of a play with that spin where he came back. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:29:43 That's not. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Stop playing with me, man. We get the rock back. Yeah. Y'all do. Three and out. We get a sack, man. We get a sack, man. We get a sack.
Starting point is 00:29:59 We're going to say we're going to be all right, though. I feel like we're going to be all right in office. I feel like we're going to be all right. I'll tell you why at the end. Okay. Okay, okay. Cleland get back out there. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:30:10 First down, I think it's Watson, what was it, seven or something like that? Yep. Okay. And then Junkins he goes for nine. Yep. And then Sanders goes to six. And then Junkins goes for another nine. They're running a train on us.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Yeah. Yep. Everybody getting turned around, turned back, pushed back. Everybody getting turned around. Dang, Devo. Yeah. We was belting. We was belting.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Y'all wasn't belting. You know Harmon got hurt, so that's a big thing. Y'all, y'all started moving the ball a whole lot more after Huffman got hurt. So I don't need to try that. Came back out with the boot. You're right. You came back out with the boot. You're right.
Starting point is 00:30:59 It's getting. so bad that Watson doesn't hit Judy. He doesn't got nine yards in the first down on second and six. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. Judy. I didn't know he was still there. I did.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I did. Yep. Like, what's going? What's up? Everybody eating. Everybody eat. Everybody's eating. Everybody's eating.
Starting point is 00:31:21 But guess what? It's free. You want to run the ball just line up in the back field. You're correct. You are correct? At this moment, we were toting that pill. But SWAT came through. He came through.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Y'all thought y'all was going to do that. He did it fake like he was going to go go for the dive and then came through, blop, blop, get him up. Yep. Give it up. Yep. Then let's recover. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:31:44 First down. That's good. Great play. To that boy Scaroni for a hot shab. Mm-hmm. Then Warren takes it 15 for a first. We fall start. Yep.
Starting point is 00:31:57 My good man, Max. And Rogers get sacked for a 10-yard loss. We get knocked out of field goal range, and now we got a punt. Burn ball. Yep. Yep, yep, yep. Y'all get the rock back.
Starting point is 00:32:14 It's Jenkins, Jenkins, Jenkins, five, three, seven, first down. Luckily, luckily, the ball gets tipped. No, man, ain't no tip, man. That was, because if it wasn't the tip, I don't care what you say, man. I don't care what you say, man. Debo.
Starting point is 00:32:32 If that ball wasn't tipped, my man ever pulled my man by the shoulders. Listen, brother, it would have been over with. Come on. It'd been over with. Come on, man. It didn't matter what happened. If that ball hadn't been tipped, we would have been in big trouble because they had a ball right there.
Starting point is 00:32:46 1,000 percent. Thank you. But you know what? His fingertip hit that ball. His fingertip hit the ball. None of that matters. None of that matters. In aception.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Mm-hmm. Correct. And we get back out there. First down, Warren, for a seven. Yep. Legal shift, Michael Pippman. Legal shift. We got a second and a, you know.
Starting point is 00:33:07 But Rogers hit that man, D.K., we got a receiver too. That was a good catch. That was a really good catch. Hands, boom, didn't let it touch the ground. Great catch, D.K. Stop playing. Great catch, great catch. And then we get a second.
Starting point is 00:33:21 Yep. But you know what? What's up? We got somebody over there named Jalen Warren. Roger's going to have dumped it to him. And he say, I'm going to take it. I'm going to take it 13 with a name. nice um i don't care where you put it i'm gonna put my hands on he put us to that third one and then on
Starting point is 00:33:37 the next play he pick up that two for the first dime yep okay then rogers hit that man washington that's a good that's a good ball that's a good ball back shoulder my man dinsel ward tried to dive in there and knock it out that's a good pass nice try wrong guy nice try wrong guy we go for the two point for inversion which was a good thing to do we don't make it it's 20s max um Okay Brown's ball Got smack boom 21 16
Starting point is 00:34:09 21 16 we get up out there And first down We sack your boy Swat Yes sir Good word Swat Second down you hit Junkers for 10 And put you out to like a third
Starting point is 00:34:25 Three third and four something like that Yep And then Third and four We allow this man Did I just not, I told you the man was used. The man was using his legs for 21 yards. Hey, hey, hey, Briscoe was right there with the option of one-on-one.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Open field, one-on-one, me and you. Just get a hold of him. Wrap his leg, grab it, row. One-on-one. We won that. Get a roll. That's a-old. Do something.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Come on. We're able to hold. Not really, y'all just start tricking it off, really. Oh, my goodness. down to. Man, we almost, Deshawn done running around, got it stripped and it bounced right back into our arms. Right there, Devo, I was old, oh, oh. Come on.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Oh, goodness. Relax now. We fell on the ball. Got us a nice little field goal. Yeah, y'all got a field goal. It's 24 to 16 now. We get the ball. Get back out there.
Starting point is 00:35:26 And this is where we almost get picked on the first one. Because it go over his head. Yes. Yes. Yes. We got lucky on that. Yes. We go three and out.
Starting point is 00:35:39 We got to punt the ball back over. That was quick. Second and nine, your boy, Watson, he hit Boston for a hot little 15. Uh-huh. And then, like, that first, Watson just missed fanning totally. Wide. Open on that third and eight. Yeah, he just missed him totally on that third.
Starting point is 00:36:01 That's just, he's wide open. You got to, hey, all right. Y'all got to punt the ball over. That, that's, okay, yes. And we get the ball. Three minutes, 32 seconds left. We get the ball, and that man, Rogers, go on here and hit Wilson for 12. And then he going to head to D.K. for 22.
Starting point is 00:36:22 That was nice. That was nice. What you go do? Yep. Second and four, Roger will hit D.K. again for 28. That's two fade balls, one-on-one versus Campbell. Those are good passes, good catches, D.K. Great job.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Yes, sir. Coming back around. he coming back around just the time out of the first quarter of season. You understand, Joe? I'm listening. I'm hearing you. I'm at the, I'm spooked at this point because I'm sitting there thinking of.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Listen, listen, listen. We got to go for it on four for ten. But I'm going to tell you right now, it should have been a PI on that second down plate with Washington. He was all over the man. No, no, no. That was deep. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:37:04 God, you're starting to turn into one of the, you know, matter, Joe. You don't matter because the next play, Rogers is going ahead to fry move on that third down, touchdown. Mm-hmm. Touchdown, and we go for two and put it on you.
Starting point is 00:37:19 It's 24, 24. No. All we got to do is stand up now. We held it ourselves because we jumped off sides to make it go to the one-yard line. Y'all was going to pass the ball. Jerry first, stay on sides to make them run a pass play.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Aaron Roder just snuck it in from the one. Like, that was self-inflicted wounds again. Just penalties. I don't want to hear nothing about that. 24 24. Let's tell you anyway. Stand up. Stand up.
Starting point is 00:37:47 What's the score? 2424. Uh-huh. And here comes this bum. Judy, I ain't never heard. A minute, 36 seconds. Deshawn Watson hits Jeremy Judy with a dot dig right through the. That was a fire catch.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Come on. on Judy. That's, hey, look, all that, you know. What, what two, two doing there then? What's 22 doing there? What's 22 doing there? What's 22 doing there? What was he doing there? What was he doing there? I don't know. I, I wasn't watching him. I was watching, I was watching Jerry Judy that time. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All I know is that man ran that dig. caught it. Bam! In the middle of traffic. There will be no Jerry Judy slander. All right. Start help us out a little bit. Yeah, a little bit.
Starting point is 00:38:40 10 second runoff. Look, run all the clock off. I don't want no more time on it. Yep, go ahead. Brough? Yes, sir. We go ahead and let this man. He's any.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Widen. For 12. You want to play Z. I'm going to play Z. I'm going to buy Judy for 10. Wyden. Judy, cross route. He's sack Watson.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And then again, Watson just misses on the third down. Yeah. I see. Like, we, we ain't want to win. We ain't deserved to win. We shouldn't have won. We didn't win. Everything got it that we got had coming to us.
Starting point is 00:39:27 We got it. Mm-hmm. 56-yard field goal. This man makes it. Bound. Yes, he does. And we get out there on the first play and we throw interception. Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Eight, nine seconds left, whatever it was. Yeah, you could have did. Yeah. Yeah. I'm different here or there. It just really didn't matter. Games on work. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Games over with. Dang. Hey. Look here. This is what I'm going to say. Go ahead, Devo. What you got, man? I'm going to say this.
Starting point is 00:39:58 I'm going to say the offense did enough. I'm going to say the offense did enough. They did enough. We could always do better, of course. So we met with a lot of larger farmers, went from Bahia to Tokatines to Matagroso. And he brought a team of executives.
Starting point is 00:40:48 They were going to help the country get in on a gold rush. Carbon and its derivatives are going to be really the next great commodity that the globe's going to trade. But back home in Iowa, trouble was brewing. If you live in Iowa, your land, your water, and your voice could all be at risk thanks to a man named Bruce Rastetter. Now people are questioning if his climate solutions have anything to do with climate at all. You got to give Bruce and the guy's credit. They're Republican kids. They don't give him.

And of course, the fans love it. But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story. I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up.
Starting point is 00:41:56 But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The comments were the real deal. I mean, come on. The Liberty never gave up. They never stopped fighting. I knew that rivalry was going to be amazing from the beginning. I'm Kerry Champion, and this is biggest rivalries of all time. Season two, the New York Liberty versus the Houston Commons, the very first rivalry of the WNBA.
Starting point is 00:42:21 They picked us to finish last, and they picked them to finish first. That's all you need to know. I remember looking around thinking, this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. This podcast lets us uncover those things together through meaningful conversations with fascinating people. Like my longtime friend Seth Myers opened up about how his road to success included some difficult detours. We would do a Taylor Read on Wednesday, and I would often go back to my office and be like, you're not as funny as they are. And the most haunting thing about that is you can't outwork talent. And comedian Hassan Minaj shared where he met his now wife. I was like, was our experience like a frat? It's like, no.
Starting point is 00:44:36 Because in frats, like everyone is having sex, but no one is in love. but on the competitive Bollywood dance team everyone's in love but no one's having sex listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app
Starting point is 00:44:49 Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts all right and I'm like I said the offensive line this is what I'm going to say about the offense line we got to build together
Starting point is 00:45:03 we got to communicate together yes a lot of the stuff that was going on it's just games and that's something that's going to help or something that we we go get better with in time. All right. So I'm not,
Starting point is 00:45:13 I'm not really, I'm not really too, um, concerned about the offense at this point. Cause, you know, some of them are getting beat, but most of it's just like the game.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Like you, you, you, one-on-one is games. You got to realize what you're doing, who you're working with, how you got to do things, so,
Starting point is 00:45:33 and so forth. And that's just where it's going to be. Because you're young, you ain't worked together. It's only your second time working together, cool. But we still gave up five sacks. Yes.
Starting point is 00:45:44 That's the, we can't do that. We had two interceptions. Roger still had almost 300 yards, 299, three touchdowns, but the interception, the one interception cost is big. And then the one at the end of the game, it was just over with it. I mean, it's really not much that you could do.
Starting point is 00:45:59 But like, dude, like we was getting pressured. We getting pressured. Warren Ball, the man has 17 carries for 93 yards. D.K. finally came through for us. He's starting to move it up. Hopefully this is something that's going to keep inclining and getting better. Five for 115. It's if, how do I say that?
Starting point is 00:46:27 If we're going to have any success this year, any success this year, the defense, point blank, period, you're going to have to figure out what's going on. The offensive side of the ball, I'm not worried about right now. I'm looking and I'm looking at the defense and each week we are not getting any better. We're staying the same.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So that's the worst that you do is get worse, but that's worse because you ain't learning from your mistakes. You're staying the same. What? Like, that's not going to help us. I know, I know, I know. They can't give up 21 points in a quarter
Starting point is 00:47:10 and expect to win a game. No. Like, again, bro, we're in our past defense, period. Just past defense, period. Rather it's the rush or the coverage. One or the other is flipping out and not doing their job.
Starting point is 00:47:29 We only had two, well, we had two sets. I won't say only two sets. Two sex is good because normally it's supposed to get three. Okay. As far as with the protocol that we had as goals for Dick LeBowell when he came in, you had to have three. But the big thing, we ain't get no pressure. We only pressure this man on 21% of his passes.
Starting point is 00:47:48 That's how you go 24 for 33, 268 yards. Against Watson, I don't know how many tackles we miss. We have an inability to tackle people right now. Yes. I don't know what's going on. Our linebackers can't get all blocks. We got receivers fucking blocking us. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:09 add that to the cause that we're getting put out there at the times that we're out there don't it's not conducive to us being successful I don't know what I don't know what's going on okay in the secondary oh I don't even know why Jenkinson was out there why was he out there because Eli is hurt and that's what we got that's what we got they don't matter Joe you don't put him out there you had to pull him anyway
Starting point is 00:48:39 you had to put in Jennings he should have been out there to begin with yeah Devo I can tell you this the secondary now it just goes to me of like when we're looking at it
Starting point is 00:48:58 communication communication the back end is non-existent and that's what I'm saying and that's why when we're continuing we're playing zone coverages and you got safety's basic things
Starting point is 00:49:10 of going to your safeties you're supposed to split the field you got two two dudes going this way. The same side of the field. I'm like, oh, my God, that's junior varsity. You know what I'm saying? That's junior varsity, bro.
Starting point is 00:49:23 I need you to be great at the things that take no talent. And that's communication and knowing what the fuck you doing. Yeah. Yeah. I have, Gibo, you're saying the right things, brother. I mean, it's just when I'm looking, we're looking at the tape. But right now, they got rid of them. And I'm saying this as this.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Why would you get rid of now, Joey Porter, Jr.? Because now, Sean Dean is here. We got the young bulls. He's needed. He's needed, brother. And like, when you start watching, I thought, oh, no, is it worth it at the end of the day? This is why you don't sit there and twirl your thumbs and play with your ass when it come time to get the man a deal and don't even offer him nothing. Joe, what did we ain't going to say what was going to say?
Starting point is 00:50:09 But let's just say that did you hear and I hear from the horse's mouth that if somebody had just offered him a deal, he would have been. practicing the whole time. Come on. Come on. They're playing that old school way. Some of this stuff is not going. You got to keep the players that you, you got to do what you got to do to keep talent
Starting point is 00:50:29 in your, on your team. You want to win or you want to stick to something that's just the way it is. No, it's not. The way it is we won a playoff game in 10 years. Yep. That's what the way it is. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:50:42 It's still away now. It's 500. It's still away now. It's maybe drag your, ask to the playoffs and get kicked out. Yeah. No. Yep.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Yep. I mean, because that's what we say any given Sunday. Because I don't go, we're going to keep talking about the Steelers. We don't keep talking about the Steelers. I don't want to get you hot, Devo. I don't want to keep getting you.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I don't want to get you too hot. We got Jalen Ramsey out here, man, playing with a broke wrist. Yes. D-line was average at best, especially after Hartman went out. We was done. Second quarter showed us that, 21.
Starting point is 00:51:23 The run wasn't bad. The run of self wasn't bad, but you gave a man a 28-yard touchdown and you gave Watson 21 on the scramble. Yeah. Youngers was only 17 for 53. Yeah, 17 for just over three yards of rest. That's not bad.
Starting point is 00:51:38 It's not bad. But you can't take away the stuff that they did. You can't take away to 21. You can't take away to 21. You can't take away the 21 in the second quarter. Mm-hmm. No, the defense, the way we're expecting them to be one of the highest, one of the top five defenses, because they have. The highest paid defense, not top five, highest pay.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Highest paid defense. Highest paid defense. And then that's when we're saying the defense, that's D-Line. And the linebackers, and now we got Jalen Ramsey is a high-paid safety. But when you talk about our corners, we got Asante Samuel Jr. starting, no disrespect. Sean Dean, and we got Everett. And when we look at this Cleveland Browns, they got Campbell and they have Denzel Ward.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Those are man-press corners. And they're paying them like such. So that's why the Browns defense is able to do what they do. A lot of times we're sitting in zone because of protecting our cornerbacks. Because if you put them in man-to-man, it's going to be... Protecting our corners and we don't know what the hell or other safety you're going to do. I don't. That's Debo, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:52:45 But that's zone, that's limiting our whole situation because we can, we have to run zones because they're not trying to leave the corners to be exposed and man-to-man press coverages. We have to get more consistent on pressuring the quarterback, getting through the quarterback, and the back-end, our back-end, we have to be tighter in coverage. If we don't do that, we're going to get cooked. We have to get cooked every week.
Starting point is 00:53:19 We have to be tighter in coverage because if this thing, if we're playing, we're not. calling a lot of man. When we're man to man, get your man, and then we'll be good. But when we're playing these zones, you got to know where the hell you're dropping. Like all of these, we're leaving these dudes in the flat, wide open, and they catch it and run up 13 yards because your corner has deep third. You're punching hook player.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Hook, get out. Good out. Why are you stopping? You keep watching. You keep doing the same thing over and over again. It's like, we're not, we're in zone. You got to understand where your landmarks are in the zone. Get to it.
Starting point is 00:53:53 These things keep happening. Get to it and relate to who is in. We're late. You getting the digs coming behind you. You see something short, just back up because you know something's coming out. You know, it's cheese. We're going to see. Don't bite the cheese.
Starting point is 00:54:05 We need to see checkdowns every time when you come up and you make the tackle for four instead of the dig behind your head for 12 every time. So it's like corners, safeties, linebackers, the communication, the knowing your drops. Like we say, this is basic stuff that we're talking about. We're not saying the exit. If you're lying up on somebody and they're just dog walking you. You got man to man and he's just rotting your ass up.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Okay, then you, that's a skill thing. If you're not dropping to your zone drop, that's a fucking mental thing. It's like, dude, what are we doing? Get him out of here. He's not good enough. Like, dude, what do you keep messing up? When in your life have you ever seen TJ grab the headsets to talk to the D.C.? And I was like, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:54:53 Help me. Yeah. Yeah. And you, Cam, TJ, and that's the quasi part. That's the wild part. You're not saying nothing that they don't expect from that. They know that's terrible. Everything that they're putting out, all these explosive runs.
Starting point is 00:55:13 Cam on the sideline screaming. TJ on the sideline screaming. Because they know what they're doing. This is not right. Y'all are in wrong positions. Y'all are not executing. You all are professionals. You're all of the highest paid people
Starting point is 00:55:25 because you do it at such a high level. This just doesn't look. You're not even in the right positions. We got to do something with this line up, bro. Like, I don't know what's good. Something got to be done. I don't, something got to be. We got to do something.
Starting point is 00:55:44 I don't know what the hell it is. I don't even know we got the people on the team to do it. I don't know more, bro, bro. I'm with you, too, because When you have basic things where you can't have both your safeties go to separate sides of half the field. We don't know what half. What is that? That's what I'm trying to tell you.
Starting point is 00:56:05 It's only two of them. I seen both, they're standing right next to each other on the half of the, I'm like this. Oh, my goodness. This looks crazy. Because when I first looked at it, I thought Everett. I'm like, you need to be covered three. You might have got the wrong call. It must be one high safety.
Starting point is 00:56:20 And you just rolled up. And you rolled up and messed up. I look back. And both of the safeties are going the other way. I said, oh, no, you just need to go this way. And then he's going to be over the top. On both sides, we'd be good. Both of them took off the other side.
Starting point is 00:56:33 I said, oh, my goodness, that's not you, two, three. But definitely you got to sink if nothing's there. But you need to have a legitimate safety. That's go pit that. That's regular. That's nothing. I can't, like, your coach, like, all right, we got covered two kids. And I got both my safeties go to one side.
Starting point is 00:56:48 I'm like, oh, no, we can't do. How do we start? How do we start worrying about the other little stuff? stuff and we can't go to cover two. I don't even know what to say no more, bro. I don't even know what to say no more, bro. I'm so, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, dip, dip, yep, yep, that's all.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Listen, listen, it be like that sometimes when you're at a loss for words when you just don't know what to say. I'm not trying to want to stress my dog out, but then on, on, on a serious, on we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, we let, out here and do this, bro. Hey, it wasn't even, it was, it was, it was, it was the, it was a little bit of everything, man. It was a little bit of that running, that burning, that burning, too, Debo, like, we was, we was, we were, we were talking that field. You're talking that field.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Y'all ran the ball. This is true. Explosive plays is what got you. Yes. The bus. 100%. Boom. Not tackling is what's killed.
Starting point is 00:57:46 Tackling. Well, we can, yeah. And I'm going to call that tackling and I'm going to call that making a miss. That's a little bit of both. Making a miss, bro. We got dude falling off. It's falling off the bone like it just got smoke for 12 hours, 15 hours. That shit just, you pick it up and fall off the bone.
Starting point is 00:58:04 Falling off, Braves rib. That boy's falling off, okay. Yeah. The Browns, though, bro, we was out there. Defense, did you, but that's what I'm saying. We were playing a lot of man to man. A lot of man, Debo. And some of those sacks too, Aaron Rock, no, a lot of, some of those sacks, those sacks,
Starting point is 00:58:25 Duse wasn't getting open. They was in man to man. Right. He had some time. He was standing back there for a little minute a couple of times and then we'll get sacked up. We got to get open. We got a, man, we're lucky we get one play a game where it was a coverage, a sack. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Stop. No, no, for sure. Because we're sitting in zones. They're going to find a hole. If you're in man to man, there ain't no holes. We got a body on the body. Now what you're going to do, you got to find tight windows. You got to put the ball in tight space.
Starting point is 00:58:54 We can't separate. For some reason, we obviously having a problem separating on the back end, getting off the man coverage, and breaking ourselves free. For sure.
