Starting point is 00:04:12 Brother Debo, I'm doing great. I'm doing good. You know, I'm still out with Myrtle Beach. You know what I'm saying? I gave you a little bit more to visual so you ain't think I was in jail. You know what I'm saying? You got a little birds.
Starting point is 00:04:25 You got a little birds, you know what I'm saying, little beach vibes? What are those called? What kind of birds are those? I have no idea. I have no idea. No idea. Just little regular, little chill birds.
Starting point is 00:04:36 It looks like goals to me, Joe. Goals. Okay. Not sea goals. They're not called seagulls anymore. They're just called goals. Okay. I wanted to let the crowd.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I wanted to let, thank you, Dibov, but I want to let the people know I'm not normally used to just admitting defeat. We had a little contest going on. You was going to wear hats. I was going to wear jerseys. And you have gave me belt. You have been rocking a different hat. Every single.
Starting point is 00:05:02 show. And I wanted to give you kudos, my brother, because I'm out here in Myrtle. I didn't bring another jersey. It's been a lot of episodes. But you know what? It's not here nor there. It is here to tell you. I'm here to tell you. You've been rocking fire hats for the last, I don't know, 70 shows in a row. And I just wanted to let you know, I see you, my brother. And you're here with another one. You hear with another. I appreciate you, baby. I appreciate you for that. You know what I'm saying? I got another, I got another, maybe, you know, 10 or 12 ago, you know what I'm saying? I got to find some Motto, you know what I'm saying? I might have to go on ahead and get some.
Starting point is 00:05:32 something made up myself, you know, making my eyes. I don't know. You know, I just don't know. I can't stop. Can't stop. I can't stop. I can't stop. Dbo was Joe shirt looking fresh too.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Dibo and Joe shirt looking clean. Come on. Can it clean? Come on. Come on, man. I'm going to get my jerseys back ready for when the season starts. Okay. I'm going to start back up with a whole new rotation.
Starting point is 00:05:52 New rotation. It's been a lot of episodes. So now I'm recycling gear. So I got, I got, I'm going to have to recycle here probably in about about another, you know, about another maybe eight to 10, maybe 12. I'm about to go on head back, you know what I'm saying? You have not done it once yet, though. So I just want to let you know.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I see you, Coach. Not yet. I know what they ain't done yet, neither, man, is they ain't paid my God, my nephew, that's what Joey Porter, Jr. He still remains unsigned this year. Joe, what they're doing? What's they doing? What's going on?
Starting point is 00:06:29 What's the whole thing? I hope it's the same way when I was. was there and they kept on talking about TJ wasn't going to get paid. They were so far a way. They're so far apart. And at the end of the day, it is what it is. You know he's done everything he needed to do to be on the team. The numbers are the numbers. They start seeing Witherspoon signed for $132 million. And at the end of the day, Wetherspoon has two interceptions in his career. Not knocking. He's been the three po-bos. He's an amazing corner, top flight. But at the same time, Joey Porter has three picks.
Starting point is 00:07:01 And the one thing I'm saying about a little bit of holding earlier in his career, it's gone down every single year. And like now I feel like that that's not something that we've been talking about. He's been limiting. When you have number one receivers, he's been following them for the last two years. And they're not giving up any touchdowns. That's something that he's actually done. So for me, I'm looking at it like, it's not, if it's not if it's but when.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I hope it's in the TJ situation where, oh, man, And nobody's talking with looking at tea like, man, I'm like, T.J., it's just too obvious. You're not going to go anywhere. They're going to give you the bag. It's going to, when the seasons are, like, it's going to end up meeting. So I'm hoping that that's the case, but they're giving away, like you said, all of his classmates is getting the bag. And you always are telling me, Dibot, where it's going to come from? I'm always the one that's thinking like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:07:49 If it's going to happen, it's going to be a way. They're going to find some bag for Joey Porter. They're going to guarantee some stuff, move some things around because he's in the future. So when you're saying you're making it good points, Darnell Washington got his 42. My man, Nick Herbick, deserving got his 100. You know what I'm saying? And then Benton got 70, got 80, what is it?
Starting point is 00:08:07 7 to 18 a year. So it's like, they're giving out good bag to people that are deserving, but they're not in the starting role that Joey Porter's in. They're not the number one corner on the squad. We got backup, not backup, but Herbick is going to be a great lineback, a great outside linebacker. It's just he hasn't been able to play as much, but that's 25 a year right there.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And what have you done for me? He got 25. I thought he got like maybe 18 or something. 25 for in the curb because four years, $100 million, $25 per. Are you serious? Yes, sir, Debo. I don't think that was it. I thought it was an extension. Debo, trust me, coach.
Starting point is 00:08:43 I thought it was five. It ended up being a five for the four hundred. Five, four, was a year? The total was five for one hundred. Okay. Total five, 400, which is 20 million a year there. So I think it, I thought it was a four year extension for 100, which was 25, five, four hundred, 20, however you want.
Starting point is 00:09:00 want to put it tomato tomorrow that that's that dough that's not going to make it right it was for for it's four it's four it's four it's four four hundred yeah it's four four hundred yes sir so i know that's what i'm saying because the market 42 guarantees yep because the defense of the other ends you got dudes making 40 tj you got uh miles garrett and then we got my man from uh plunter from out in texans making like 42 a year so when you get those numbers it's like okay he her big a 25 for sure, it's a good number right now. Same way I'm looking at Joey Porter, Jr. 30 is going to look good because in two years when the next,
Starting point is 00:09:36 the next corners are coming up, they're going to beat out Witherspoons. Because Willispoons numbers are solid. Two picks, you know what I'm saying? They know he has a future. He's three pro bowls. He's locking up for sure. But there's going to be the next corner is coming up. It's going to be they're going to $13.
Starting point is 00:09:51 So I'm like, I'm hoping that Omar and them are understanding. They get it. They know what the hell is going on. They know what the market is. They know what people are getting paid out here. So the same way I'm looking at it When TJ was there and we're like Oh they're so far apart they're not talking about
Starting point is 00:10:05 Nothing like I'm like When you's till it gets to the season It doesn't make sense for you not to be there You've done everything right You know what I'm saying You are a stealer You want to be here So like it looks crazy
Starting point is 00:10:16 But I hope it gets done Yeah I'm with you Yeah that was I mean you got 70 Well they just gave Bent in 72 Four years since 72 Nick already Herbic already had the 4400
Starting point is 00:10:29 And then Washington got the four for 42. So I really don't know. I can't, I don't know what they're waiting on. That makes me go to, it makes me start thinking, Joe. I know, I know. And you know when you start thinking. Joe, when I start thinking it, I got, I got a thing. And to give clarity in my thoughts, I got to look at it from all positions.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I don't look from all sides, though. You have to because when you start, like, when we talked to Andrew Barry yesterday, when we talk about the GMs and how they're just from the top, always trying to look about how they're going to be able to make the team better. Is this dollar going to Assate Samuel Jr. is bawling.
Starting point is 00:11:14 He was a first round pick. And with his spinal stuff, is looking right. You got a corner that he's going to be one to get the bag to plan for $4 million. Deservingly so can be a starting quarterback in this league. You got Sean Dean making 12. a half a year right now. So it's like, if you,
Starting point is 00:11:31 I don't want to start thinking about that either. Because when you start talking about the GMs, they're like this, okay, what is he doing right here? Okay, maybe we can make something shake. I don't know. I don't want that to be the possibility. I want us to have Asante Samuel. I want us to have Dean.
Starting point is 00:11:45 And I want us to have Joey Porter Jr. And then we could figure it out how the season goes with them as our corners. But I don't want you to start thinking, D'Bow, because I know what you're talking about. Listen here, man. If they ain't getting in the bag, then here's the problem. What's up?
Starting point is 00:12:05 I'm putting my GM hat on. And I'm going to go through the best case scenario for me as a GM and the worst case scenario for me as a GM. Okay. What's your best case scenario? The best case scenario for me if I'm nephew and the worst case scenario for me if I'm nephew. So if I'm sitting here and I'm going to put my GM hat on and I ain't gave this, I ain't gave this man a deal yet. I'm thinking, best case scenario, we get to the season, and he says, you know what, I'm going to play this year out and finish this one year of this contract. And that's my best hope as a GM.
Starting point is 00:12:44 That would be perfect, right? I ain't got to do nothing. I can wait. I ain't got to worry about a cap thing or nothing like that, right? Yeah. Well, what's nephew's best hope? His best hope, done past already. It's gone.
Starting point is 00:12:56 And that was to get a contract before OTAs was done or OTAs. No, no, no, for sure, for sure. So he got to go to worst case for him. It's still best case. It's like, all right, what's the first case is before the first, before the season starts? Before first game. We still got until game. And I'm still telling you, that's not a worst case scenario, Joe.
Starting point is 00:13:16 His best case was I wanted it before OTAs. Yes, yes. That was the hope. It was never said, but that was the hope. Yes. So now you got to go with worst case. What's the worst case? Worst case is he doesn't get a deal and he ends up getting traded.
Starting point is 00:13:38 That's the worst case for him. But he still goes, it gets his money somewhere else. So right now, if I'm him, it ain't no way on God's green earth. You go get me to practice one snap, let alone playing a game before you give me a long-term contract, I'm not going to go out there and take a chance of popping something, tearing something, all that.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Because if I do, you damn sure ain't going to get a man a contract. Then you just put that when you didn't even give the tackle his option. We know that. That's business. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Now, that's nephew. That's his worst case. Obviously, that must be where he's like, okay, I can take that worst case. So now I've got to flip back to the Steelers. and I put my GM hat back on. What's my worst case as a GM? My worst case scenario as a GM is he doesn't play.
Starting point is 00:14:36 That's my worst case scenario. He don't play. And I have to trade him sometime before the deadline because he doesn't even dress or play for the season. And I got to get some kind of value from him. Okay? That's the worst case scenario. As a GM and you have,
Starting point is 00:14:56 either accepted that or you're saying I'm going to get something done in the 12th hour. Otherwise, you're out here playing Russian roulette and hoping that the bullet don't go off when you pull the trigger. Because like behind every night spent making the kids lunches, there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pesto survive the first bite? Starting point is 00:16:16 fill the space with you. You have something in your guts. You go with it. And Sean Johnson recalled the moment she realized her now husband, Andrew, was the one. He was just so unapologetically himself and knew nothing of Hollywood. He hadn't been on a plane before without his family. It was so pure. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything.
Starting point is 00:16:53 What happens when a quiet Tennessee town? becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America. Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment.
Starting point is 00:17:24 God need men to rule. Great. and decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull-h-h-h-hick. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you?
Starting point is 00:17:44 Listen to Our Town on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes-Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook. Every episode we're trying to help our guests improve their careers by mainly focusing on how they can help us improve our careers. The show is famously super accessible so you can easily jump into any of our 650 episodes and understand what's going on. We recommend some of our recent episodes with Ben Stiller. The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere too, right?
Starting point is 00:18:15 What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride. He loves Nova. Oh, that's fantastic. Can you make it on, you make your own? That's great. I call him Terro Reed.
Starting point is 00:18:32 It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Yeah, I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobieski. Yet I don't think she was an American Pie, but I still like that. Haven't looked it up. She was prominent around the same time. Then Mary Steenbergh. Why are you guys talking to me?
Starting point is 00:18:51 I'm worried. Why are you talking so down to me that you think I don't understand. understand your little play game. I just really, I get it. I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nick Totoro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, the longest yard, or Spike Lease Black Klansman.
Starting point is 00:19:13 But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Totoro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street pizza to a new guest. Are you delivering pizza now? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone from Seth Rollins. What are you doing my belt? To Alex Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Titoro. It's called Happiness, Delivering Happiness. Mariano Rivera. Oh my God. And many, many more.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Open your free high-heart radio app. Search Delivering Happen is with Nick Detourl. And listen now. You said, they done gave Benton. They just gave Benton his deal. Before that, they gave Washington his and Herbert his. Now, Withersmoan, he done inflated the market so crazy. It's 33 now.
Starting point is 00:20:14 So, like, what we were talking before, 25, something like, no, it's like 28, 29 now. Like, if you're lucky. and that's just just hoping that I don't know though like like like like it like like it like it would work out so but again I'm looking at it I'm looking at the same thing bro like okay like if he won't 30 they're saying he want 30 so I started looking like okay where is it at you know
Starting point is 00:20:43 where to say he won't 30 at brough it was a rumor from a unknown GM a former GM I take that back it was a former GM that said it was reported that contract the contract
Starting point is 00:21:01 got a harsh pushback I guess from a former from a former NFL GM not our gym not nobody else from nobody connected to the stillers
Starting point is 00:21:13 and that was where the 30 came from where they said he wanted to be a 30 this is not even confirmed from anywhere so I started looking I'm like yo where didn't nephew or his agent say they want 30, bro. Like, where is it that they said they want 30 at? Everything points right back to this rumor from this
Starting point is 00:21:28 former GM. Like, I'm like, dude, like, what is going on? Like, all this stuff is from a rumor mill. So I'm like, you know what, man, what about the 25 and all the other stuff? You know, what happened to the 25 he was supposed to get in all that? Like, what, ain't no, wasn't no offer for no 25. That's a rumor, too. And it wasn't no thing for no 30.
Starting point is 00:21:50 everything points back to this former GM who made up a rumor or said it was something that that happened that nobody has actual factual information on. Distillers don't have nothing that came out and said they offered this or they offered that. The story don't have nothing and his people don't have nothing that came out and said, we want this and we want that. What is going on? Like, I don't understand what's going on here and we still ain't got a deal done and we got what six, five million dollars left on cap. So if I'm looking at it through the eyes of nephew, I'm like, okay, I see you move. Cool. I would love to be here, but I understand it's business.
Starting point is 00:22:34 And I may have to go somewhere else to get that paper. Right. Debo, I hear you. I hear you 1,000 percent. I'm just trying to stay on the, what, everything you're saying makes complete sense. But the only reason why I'm looking at it like this is trying to stay as positive is because of who Joe who Joey Porter Jr. is and what he can mean
Starting point is 00:22:55 and what he means to the team. I think he's going to be a legit top five corner in the league for the future. He's not doing nothing but getting better. All he's done in this. Understand that, bro, but look how much he doesn't miss. Look how much time he doesn't miss. Like, I understand.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Get back into it and all that other stuff, dude. We got a new staff. We got a new scheme. We got a lot of stuff going on here. Like, but at the same time when you're seeing a bunch of people, like, and the cap number, the cap number. where the money go come from?
Starting point is 00:23:22 Say, okay, say we plan the 12 hour and we go ahead and lacing right before. Where the money at, Joe? Look, I'm going to tell you, I'm going to have it on Friday, exactly how we could be able to get Joey Porter the money and whose money would be able to get moved around and where we have to put it to.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Because I know it's possible. I know it's possible. That's why I'm looking at it. Just with, when T.Ce was supposed to, when anybody was supposed to get the bag in life, How? There's no money. They're going to be able to make money for certain players because he's going to be there for me and the future.
Starting point is 00:24:01 The only thing that makes me question it very like a whole lot is that the money, I'm not seeing the money. I'm not seeing where it's coming from, bro. And you don't pay three other people, you know, dropped off. What is that? $21,000, $14 million. Only reason why I'm saying that, because it's like you said, I mean, Joey Porter, Jr., I don't think this is not coming from him, this is coming strictly to me.
Starting point is 00:24:28 I'm not seeing for him to go in there and play this, for $4 million. Are you? You're telling him to do what? I said, I'm not seeing him in the first season before he was going and playing this year for $4 million. Listen, listen, that's blood to me. Nephew, I'm sorry. I love the Steelers. No, definitely.
Starting point is 00:24:52 are mine, you are family, you are blood, that, listen, no. Take care of home. No, for sure. I can't have you out there running around, taking a chance on, no, no, a thousand percent, but that's what I want you to go ahead and say that? Because, like, what are we talking about? I can't, I'll be, I'll be, I'll be, now if I'm the GM, I might be telling you a little bit of any and everything to get you to do something.
Starting point is 00:25:15 I ain't going to lie to you. Yeah. But as, hey, now, If you, man, hell, his daddy, I bet you his daddy ain't telling him nothing about step on nephew. Man, hey, no. I do not, do not. No. I'm for the stills, but I am not at the expense of my family losing any possibility.
Starting point is 00:25:39 He did it for the three years. That was the play. That was he passed what you got. He got paid that $9 million from when he did at Penn State. The last three years is what he's getting this next contract for. So it's like that's why I'm feeling with him. You don't have to go onto the field because now you outplayed this contract that we are talking about right now, that rookie deal. That thing is basically shredded up because it's for, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:26:03 Like it, where are you sitting with the team? What do you want him to do? He improved every year. He improved every year. Ain't gave up a tutty. Locked it down. What you want him to do, bro? What else?
Starting point is 00:26:18 You want him to start like just maintaining the field or something? I don't know. That's where I believe. that oh I think I'm I'm I'm believing in the stillers because they drafted him he's homegrown and it's going to be a way to figure it out debo I'm going to come with a little with a with a with a way with how I think they could finagle it but I know it's possible bro it can't it's can't not me okay hopefully man hope maybe maybe I don't like I said I'm I'm the numbers that I don't see the I don't see the numbers that's that's the only thing I'm more worried about than anything else is I don't see where the
Starting point is 00:26:52 numbers coming, man. So, you know, Mike McCarthy says as soon as he breaks camp that he, he was, he was meeting with Will Howard and Drew Allen. I mean, sorry, Wilhard and Drew Allen. They have an actual little tweet here, but this is what I did, Joe. What did you do? I had to go and look at it because it was from his, the tweet is in reference to his, his press conference. Okay. yesterday. So, you know, you get a little better understanding than the tweet, you got to go listen to the actual press conference.
Starting point is 00:27:24 So he's just saying, you know, he got two fine young quarterbacks there. And I think they broke camp early too. So. Okay. And he just probably meeting with him to, I don't know, when do you think he meeting with him for, Joe? I think he's meeting with his two young quarterback joke. What he got going on? You know, just motivating them, telling him.
Starting point is 00:27:47 that you know that he likes what he's seen keep it going keep fighting we got dan rages obviously you're not going to be this is just learn do what you got to do and be able to be ready when your number is called because we don't know if anything happens y'all can be right up next so i think he just you know just a good coach hauling at his quarterback and with jew aller and with will howard i can tell just from where everybody's been talking about with Penn state his footwork his mechanics just from the last thing he just looks more comfortable he's He looks like he's been working with somebody that's been helping him with his footwork, helping him with the mechanics, helping him to develop as a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:28:24 So if we got Mike McCarthy, he knows he at A-Rod. He's been kicking him for a long time. The thing is, if you got an offense running and you see these two young quarterbacks that you see some potential in, giving him a little pat on the back, let him know, like, boom, that's good. It's good to let him know when I see you, you know what I'm saying? But there's definitely work to be done. But always, like, it's cool to have that, I think. So I think Martin McCarthy is doing a good job because he's a quarterback guy.
Starting point is 00:28:48 The offense has been looking pretty good, and that's just what he does. I would be, if he didn't talk to the quarterbacks, it's cool. But your coach hauling at the quarterback, your young dudes that we see potential in, yes, coach, that's good. That's good, all good signs. Yeah, I ain't tripping on it. Everybody, you know, you got some people thinking that they're trying to, they're trying to see who they're going to keep and release. They just broke him. he going back
Starting point is 00:29:14 asking a question like why are they why did he even say it because you were talking about his quarterback that's why he said like he was like hey yeah
Starting point is 00:29:21 I'm actually going to meet with both those guys you know actually giving you all a little bit actually trying to be cool let you all know what's up
Starting point is 00:29:27 yeah yeah so nah it ain't it ain't it ain't it ain't like that
Starting point is 00:29:32 get over to that ain't that ain't it no no man keep them both who gonna be
Starting point is 00:29:39 you're gonna be number two man you worry about the wrong thing We got the... Man broke camp early because the weather was having the issue.
Starting point is 00:29:46 They know they got the indoor facility. They get down there and get some more work in. They can make it up. Instead of sitting there waiting, doing all the other stuff, you can get to a real indoor
Starting point is 00:29:54 and get that indoor over there wasn't... Man. It's a walk-through indoor. It's a walk-through indoor. Yes. Yes. Definitely,
Starting point is 00:30:03 definitely walk-through indoor. Speaking of on, indoor... Oh! Browns... New Domem Stadium Revealed in close up photos and video.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. You can't even hate. Oh, I can hate. I know you're going to find a way to hate. I know you're going to find a bunch of ways. You're saying I can hate.
Starting point is 00:30:32 You're about to fire my dome? You about to fire my dome up? You about to fire the dome up? Hey, I'm about, listen, Joe. What's up? Tell me what your thoughts is on the new stadium. Then I'm going to tell you what my thought is. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:30:44 No, no, no, I want to hear you first, people. No, no. Go ahead. Go ahead. Talk about our stadium. Joe, JoJo, Joe. Joe, you tell me. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Pop-O. What you don't like about it? Hey, hey, Joe, you want to know what I don't like about? Yeah, please, come on. The new. We got time. Listen, listen, listen. The new Huntington Bank Field.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Yes. It's going to be 67,000 plus square, sorry, 67,000 plus seats. Yes, okay. It's set to open was the 2029, okay? And it's currently 2.60 billion. Yes. Okay? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:23 They are already talking about Cleveland now can have major events, this and that. Final four, major concert, Super Bowl. We can have everything. Yep. You're playing on turf. Anyway. But. I got that one.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Listen, listen, that's a closed. It's a closed. If we were in a closed-in space when we lost to you guys when it was real cold up there in Cleveland, you're losing that homeowner advantage that you have. So remember when Miami would come up and y'all would be like, they go over there shaking cold. Y'all go lose that. Because if y'all had a dome when we was up there because we was cold, we were the one.
Starting point is 00:32:12 But we was too cold to be able to focus. Y'all was just so hyped that y'all actually had a chance to win that y'all, y'all just, y'all couldn't feel the cold. You were just out there just, just blind. Like, you know, the stadium, brough, it's, it's, it's cool. It's fine. I mean, it's cool. I mean, I looked at the, the master plan that they got there and the designs, all that stuff. And, you know, like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Joe, yes. It's five, you both. I know. I might, hey, listen, I might be going to the Steelers game when they play the Browns and Cleveland. For sure. Joe, Joe, it's a whole thing, Joe, they got like, they got like 1,5008 units of presidential living over there, Joe. They got 300,000 square feet of retail restaurant and entertainment. And listen, 500 and 52.
Starting point is 00:33:14 hotel rooms, bro. Hey, this ain't just a stadium, bro. This is a whole thing, brother. This is a real development. Hey, listen. I'm just trying to tell you, it's a little town. It's a little town they named Brownstown.
Starting point is 00:33:29 It's not just the stadium. You might have to go and just have me a little, just little park up there and rent it just for the two games, the game, the one game we come up there and, you know, just going to slap you all around. That way I can get, do what I do. You know what I'm saying? I can get, you know.
Starting point is 00:33:43 This is the thing. This is the thing. The stadium ain't going to be here for two more years. And that's just right enough time for our team to be right where we need to be. Like we said, I heard Andrew Berry, the young people are getting away. We're getting the draft picks. Boom, we're going to be solid. By that time, and now we're going to be able to host the Super Bowl there.
Starting point is 00:34:04 We're going to be able to host the Final Fours there. And when we have the Super Bowl team, we're going to be able to play in our stadium in Browns Town. they built right there. So look at you. You already want to pull up. You already want to come to Cleveland now. So we just going to have so many more people, so many more eyeballs, watching us when we're turning up and spanking people all over the stadium.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Because look, the Vegas Raiders Stadium, all these new stadiums are unbelievable. Old school stadiums. Banking who? Who are they? It's so nice. Look, they need all in metal seats, all that bowl, all that. Oh, it's old school football. I don't want to hear none of that.
Starting point is 00:34:45 I'm boozy now. We're going to these nice stadiums. It's going to be good weather, and we're going to watch these people play on the best conditions. Moving around. Full speed, best on best, good on good. Right here, and we're going to be putting belt
Starting point is 00:35:00 to tushy in that new stadium. Do you hear me? Where by that time, Harold... Listen, man, now I don't even play football outside no more, man. When the next time we go build a stadium, they ain't got a roof on it, man? No. I'm going to tell you right now,
Starting point is 00:35:13 Now, whenever the Steelers get a new stadium, if it's a dome, we're done. We cooked. No. It's still a weather out. The weather is going to give it advantage. Okay, I respect it, for sure. The weather is, okay, an advantage. But if you're going to have best on best, if this is just, meet me on an even territory,
Starting point is 00:35:32 and I feel like, no footing, it's not no slipping. No, if you beat me on this fade ball, it's because you're better than me. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's why I can, like, when you rock with the Super Bowl being on. I understand what you're saying. Lining up, fool, I'm in your chest. I'm not slipping on no, I ain't got these long cleats on now looking crazy. Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, get a super.
Starting point is 00:35:54 And now you're coming. Now we're going to be in Cleveland. So you're saying we got to get a dome now. We got to get a dome now. No, no, you don't got to get a dome. We got to get a dome. Now, we want to, we want a Super Bowl too. If y'all want to host the Super Bowl, you want a Super Bowl, too.
Starting point is 00:36:07 We ain't going to spend that much on our dome, though. We probably go make sure that ours is twice as good as y'all's. We got to leave drop five point. I'm going to say this stuff, Bibo. Bill. Billion. You had one point good. I would have preferred us to have grass, obviously.
Starting point is 00:36:24 But. Can't have grass, Joe. Why not? Because it's easy to move turf than it is. Grass got to be a whole slab. You got to roll the thing in and out like they do with AZ. Like Arizona. Like the carcans do it.
Starting point is 00:36:36 The car do it. They did it lines. Yeah, but see, they got that good weather outside all the time. You're going to pull that grass out there. Put that grass outside. To put that weather. You got the winter popping over there, and they got to be out there. They're in there for a whole weekend and y'all got a game on.
Starting point is 00:36:49 It's over. The grass dead. We need a dome just to hold the grass. Now y'all tricking. That's crazy. Yep. Yep. That's why he did turf.
Starting point is 00:36:59 That's true. That's why he did turf. So they don't have to do that. You got to do nothing. Like, you do whatever you want to do. I don't tell you the bodies, though, man. It's a yes. It's a little bit.
Starting point is 00:37:12 It's a little bit. It's a little bit. It's a little bit. A little bit. What was your favorite stadiums to play in? What was your, you have any? I ain't really had now. I ain't going to lie to you.
Starting point is 00:37:23 I ain't going to lie to you. I love playing in the Brown Stadium. It just sounds crazy. I did. Our grass was great. I loved playing in the Stiller Stadium. I did. It was hype.
Starting point is 00:37:34 I did. Those are my two, those are my two favorite stadiums, honestly. Oh, if you're talking about atmosphere, then I would have to say, I would have to say home, of course, and then when we would play the Ravens.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Yeah, I was about to say that was my third. Baltimore was lit. Baltimore was lit. Child, you ain't lied. Baltimore was definitely lit. I'm trying to tell you. Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches,
Starting point is 00:38:05 there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pesto survive the first bite? Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full? or come home at all. But to the people who grew up here, it's everything.
Starting point is 00:39:39 What happens when a quiet Tennessee town, becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America.

Starting point is 00:41:01 What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride. He loves Nova. Oh, that's fantastic. And you make it on, you make your own. own. That's great. I call him Terro Reed.
Starting point is 00:41:18 It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Yeah. Oh, gotcha. I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachy Sobieski. Yeah, I don't think she was an American pie, but I still like that. Haven't looked it up. She was prominent around the same time.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Yeah. Then Mary Steenbergin. Why are you guys talking to me? I'm worried. Why are you talking so down to me that you think I don't understand your little play game. I just really I get it.
Starting point is 00:41:46 I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nick Totoro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue,

Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am.

Starting point is 00:42:42 And listen now. It was our division. The division that lit. Divisional games, listen, man. Like, we used to, we used to sit over there and wait. Like, hey, man, they about to introduce Ray. Watch Ray. Watch Ray.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Watch Ray. When you come out. Listen, bro. Ray come out there. They on turf. Ray come out to three songs. First song Ray come out too. It's like,
Starting point is 00:43:06 dun, and then they pop to the other song. When they pop to the other song, they don't put a piece of real grass down there for him. He reached down in the box, grab the grass, and they hit the other song then before when he go to grab the grass. And then before he go and hit the dance,
Starting point is 00:43:26 they pop it to another one, then he hit that. Oh, they're working. He's working with the DJ. Bro, we'd be over there so hype, bro. Bro, we'd be over there at hype. Like, hype. I know I got to see that part. The boys found that out.
Starting point is 00:43:39 I told you before the boys found that out. after the 2008 Super Bowl that we won, man, I don't think we heard the defense brought out again when we played them up there. It might have been one time, bro. No, for sure, because you were just watching, but he would get me, he would get us hyped up. There's no fear.
Starting point is 00:44:02 It's like it's okay. Oh, it's a real live game, man. Real, listen, I'm like, hey, we used to tell the rook, watch it, watch when Ray come out. Then they stop in their dozens. And we're like, man, Come on, what they doing? We ended up talking to Ed Reed and the sizzle.
Starting point is 00:44:16 They was like, yeah, they stopped that, man. They ain't letting y'all get that. Mm-hmm. Oh, man. Before the games, bro, that national anthem, before that thing started, I used to have my little moment every game. That's when I was just really getting myself together,
Starting point is 00:44:30 like the respect of, damn, I'm in the league. That would happen every single national anthem. When I'm standing, I'm like this, okay? I would have my little, my moment, bro. Literally, D.bo, I was like, getting myself right together. Just the humbling, like, I made it. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:44:44 I feel like every time that would happen, it's not just the natural anthem. It's just like standing there looking across, like, it's a whole other squad. We're in the league. I'm like, that never got. You was crying, Joe? I ain't going on, sometimes, yeah, I'll quit, a quick joint.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I ain't, I ain't go lie to you. I ain't did that one. I did. I do. I'm thinking about, see, I'm on, I'm on, I'm on, I was, I usually. You're on, you're on straight demon time. But I was on demon time. I'm trying to see who I can sleep on the first kickoff.
Starting point is 00:45:10 I'm trying to see who I can sleep. See, you ready to get, yep, yep, yep, yep. Yes. Yep. I'm ready to go ahead. No question. I was too, but when I stood on the line, then I was like, okay, yep, it's game time. And then I got back right.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Oh, man, listen. The Brown's rookie wide receiver, Casey Concepcion, he said he'd take a little pride and not being tackled by cornerbacks. Joe, listen. Oh. A little, Jess, sweet. My dog, Ty, you know, he had a, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:52 a, you know, a big block for me. He set an edge, you know. I take, I take pride in, and never being tackled by, and never being tackled by, by a quarterback. So, you know, I saw the edge, you know, I fought to tackle.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I care my balance. They don't even score. Hey. Hey. Hey, Joe, I got to ask you this question. What's up, man? How do you feel about that as a cornerback, okay, that played in the league or as playing in the league? and how do you feel about that as a as a as a as a as a as a as a browns fan because i'm i'm going to i'm
Starting point is 00:46:47 going to assume they might be a little different as a brown's fame this is exactly what i need to hear the mentality the dog the like feeling like the dbs can't hold you they're small they're not trying to tackle this is how you're going to treat them so as a brown fan i'm loving the mentality. Like, keep that going. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's going to be your edge. You know what I love it. Because when you got that pump return, you are looking like, you're looking real like you just need the ball in your hands and you're going to make something happen. Exactly like I expected. You're catching the ball with your hands going across the middle. You don't look scared of nothing. And that was super athletic. But to bend the corner, put your
Starting point is 00:47:30 hands down on the ground and get in the end zone. My man Casey has looked like he played basketball. He looks athletic. He's done some stuff before. So as a Browns fan, Thank you, Casey Concepcion. This is the type of energy we need and continue to produce, continue to do that. I love his energy. I love his mindset. As a D.B. Oh, you got me messed up, coach.
Starting point is 00:47:52 As a cornerback, how do you feel? As a cornerback, you gotten messed up. Because for me, he's basically saying, I'm going to, you're too little for me. Like, it needs to be at least a linebacker or safety, somebody that's over victim weight. Like, if you're under 200, basically what he's saying is you're not going to be able to tackle me. So I'm loving his mindset, Casey, but for sure, as a DV as a corner, if you're a, if you're a hitter, if you're not scared to turn down some,
Starting point is 00:48:19 if you're not scared of the dirty part of your job, oh, you want all the smoke. So that's how I feel as a DV, but as a receiver, that mentality, that dog, that Debo Samuel, that you're not going to be able to take me down because you're smaller, I can respect it. I like it. But just know, for me, I'm going to have to take you down, coach. I'm glad to say you nothing and I'm not low and low
Starting point is 00:48:40 because we're the same size and we're the same size I'm hitting you up top pork chop up top pole chop Joe Joe
Starting point is 00:48:49 but I like all that I like all that Casey I like I like I like all that I'm letting every cornerback know in the NFL that he just said can't none of y'all tackle him
Starting point is 00:48:59 he's like putting y'all to shame he like putting y'all all to shame he then said this after one preseason game chill out big bell that's what he's going to say it You don't say that, hey, any corner, any corner in the NFL, Browns, the Browns rookie Casey Concepcion said he'll take pride
Starting point is 00:49:17 and running your boys over and making sure you can't tag him because you feel. Don't put words in his mouth. He takes pride. I'm reading in between the lines. Bye. You let me do my job. You understand? You let me do my job.
Starting point is 00:49:35 This is what I do. Yeah, you definitely. Your Browns, hold up. What's up? Your D-N? Jerry Verst? Hey, you know what? What's up? You know what he said about the fight with your boy?
Starting point is 00:49:51 What is it, Fanny? Yeah, what do you say? Go ahead. Play the sound. I don't think it goes over the edge at all. I think fighting is necessary when you get to football. You have to have that, you know, that edge. I talk crazy.
Starting point is 00:50:01 I'm very disrespectful when it comes to the way I compete, especially, you know, when I try to drive my teammates to another level. So I wouldn't expect him any less than to retaliate because that type of player is. He's a very magnificent player. And to go on against him, he's gotten so much better. And he's past couple of weeks. It's been a month on, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:17 can't spend running it all along. But, you know, in the time we've been together, he's gotten so much better. And, you know, because he's getting better, he's getting to the point where I'm starting to learn things from him. I'm starting to learn a little bit about my tendencies and what he's picking up on. So it's making me a better player as well.
Starting point is 00:50:29 That boy got hard. I mean, a lot of rookies with going to a situation, you know, against me, against, you know, top of edges in the league and stuff and kind of back down, kind of like, you know, being a little nervous, a little bit timid. but, no, he has never, he's never shown that. Hey, Joe.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Hey, Joe, hey Joe. He said, he said, you know, that's, you know, that's what you need to do, all that, this stuff. Boo, boob, you know, he wouldn't expect nothing less. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold on, Joe. Don't just, don't just, magnificent player, blah, blah, blah. Joe, you tell me, what do you think? What do you think?
Starting point is 00:51:00 Who, you, you, just, you like this, Joe? I don't like this. I love this. You love this. I love this. Do you know why? Because Real recognized real. And it don't take long for you to know if you got a dog on the offensive line or you got a puppy on the offensive line.
Starting point is 00:51:19 And other Jerry Verst, he knows because he's been in the league long enough to go against real, real tackles, real dudes. He's been able to try to bully people. You heard the way he said, I talk crazy to people. I talk disrespectful. I'm like this, okay, you got that dog. I've known a lot of players that go out there and just talk ridiculous. You know what I'm saying? But you got to be able to back it up.
Starting point is 00:51:41 Don't you be out there talking and getting thrown around. You look crazy. Jerevers, you're not getting thrown around. You talk as much trash as you want. That's how you play your game, and I love it. Bring that energy to the field, sacks, strip sacks, all that. So when he's going smack at Harold Fenton, when he's going smack at Fannie, he's going to see, like, oh, no, he's not backing down.
Starting point is 00:51:59 He's not no sucker. And he's coming back. I would expect nothing less from a dog. And now he's like, oh, he's learning on my tendencies because he's saying, if you're playing against a tackle that's now you're going back out and you're going hard you're giving them your best stuff and he's now learning a little bit he's a he's a first round pick for a reason he's going to be he's going to be our starting tackle and he's saying that oh he's got some stuff to where he's learning how i'm moving so i mean he's learning so that's that's the iron sharp and the iron when you were going
Starting point is 00:52:25 to get some receiver i don't care if he's a rookie or if he's seven years in if he's running some stuff he's like i just now i seen this when you when you shoot your hand like that i'm like okay bet if you can start giving them a little game, that's real game. It don't matter how long you've been in the league. If you come in there respectfully doing your job, when other vets see that you're good, you're doing a good job, you're actually like, you know what you're doing, you're out here handling your business, they respond differently.
Starting point is 00:52:51 So I love this because it's, I don't know how you need good on good. Your best players are going to fight the other best players because it's offense versus defense at this point. We're going at each other. We're not really friends. We don't have the other team to be our competition. So you know how that gets the good. Your best players go fight each other.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Your best players go fight each other, Joe. I mean, look. You know what's so crazy about that, Joe. But you know what I'm saying? You know how it gets. I understand what you're saying, Joe. But Joe, he said retaliate. He said the man had to retaliate.
Starting point is 00:53:26 He understood. He said, I can understand that. Yeah. But. What I can't Ah, you got to change his talk. But what I can't understand is why he would do something that he would have to retaliate against him for. You know, so you're telling me that you did something to your own teammate that required that response.
Starting point is 00:54:01 because it's the only logical response that would happen, especially in our business for whatever it is that he did. So what he did, don't sound like it was football. That's what it sounds like to me, because if it's football, you play, you hit, you go, you win, you lose, you turn around for the next play. So this don't sound smart to me. Joe, as a leader of this team that you would purposely cause a dangerous situation to unfold
Starting point is 00:54:43 that could possibly get him and the other player or one of his other teammates hurt in the process because you're doing something like fighting, an act that would get you suspect. spend it in a game. Yep. I don't know, Joe. That sounds brownish to me. What do you think? You're acting like you didn't see
Starting point is 00:55:10 distillers doing training camp, fist the cuffs. You're acting like you don't see everybody. You do, Debo. Now you're lying through your teeth. Now you're lying through your teeth. Sometimes now, Titchers to flare and at the end of a couple.
Starting point is 00:55:27 You're a liar. We don't do that. You're a lying. through your team right now to me. And I can't believe it because you know, you know that boy out there throwing them hands at the stillest training camp. The same way.
Starting point is 00:55:41 You saw the eyes. I'm looking you in your eyes, Joe. Tell me now that you're not seeing. I'm looking you in your eyes, Joe. You're lying. You're lying. I'm looking right at you, Joe. I'm just go, okay.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Yeah. So this, you know that. So sometimes it takes a little, and you know, he's not fighting. in the game. He knows, he know that you're going to get kicked out. You know, you're going to get suspended. You know, and that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Coach is going to break it up. It's going to be what it is. You can do this. I'm just saying, Joe, we don't, we didn't do that, Joe. We didn't, we didn't do that. We didn't do that a stiller. You're a liar, depot. I was there.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Who fought? The cuffs. Who was fighting? I don't even know. I'm not snitching like that. I'm just telling you it was happening. You can't say no names. You can say you're, no.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Hey, no. You, you go say and tell me I'm lying, though? I ain't seen no fighting. They was inside most time. We were there. I ain't seen nothing. Okay. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:56:35 I'm not talking about this camp. I'm talking about when I was there. I'm talking about when I was playing. When you was playing. Yeah. I don't know about that. But I will say this. That was the last year that I was there.
Starting point is 00:56:50 So I don't really. Okay. All right, Ebo. I'm not going to incriminate you. And I'm not trying to incriminate myself. But I'm just saying, I was saying, I would know that pays in the lead.
Starting point is 00:56:59 That box, that people box sometimes at training camp. Hey, I plead a little. And it's not even a real box. It's a fake joint because people got their helmets on and they could literally hurt themselves. They look kind of nuts, but it's not really even a boxing match. You know. Why are you punching a helmet? That's the craziest thing in the world.
Starting point is 00:57:15 They look crazy, Debo. But so you know, so I'm telling you know. I'm telling you know. Are y'all crazy? Like, that don't, you don't lost your, you don't lost your scruples. You're going to punch a helmet, Joe. Summer Blockbusters are back. The Odyssey and Spider-Man.
