I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls.
We spend our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kids' brain,

Your child is not doing this on purpose.
That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists and psychiatrists

But what I want to get to is a little something with your starting quarterback Deshawn Watson here.
Brown's quarterback Deshaun Watson was sighted going 86 miles an hour in a 60 mile per hour zone.
on I-480.
Outside of Cleveland.
On 826,
Watson was pulled over
the day before the Brown's
final season,
final preseason game.
According to WKY,
body camera footage
from the traffic stop show Watson
complying with the trooper's request,
providing his identification
in all requested information.
Watson pled not guilty
to the citation,
and in his next quarter appearance,
his next quarter appearance is September 23rd.
Joe, why is your boy over here flying around
like he ain't got no good sense, Joe?
Nope, this is a non-story.
It's on I-4-80.
I be on I-4-80.
He's flying, Joe?
No, he's not.
86-99.
I'm never telling my man to go over this.
be limit. That is not. Debo, don't even sit here and act like this is any type
craziness news. Obviously, slow down. I don't even know my car. It's 480 for 80. For sure.
Dbo, I'm telling you right now, don't be sitting here looking here lying. I've been in the car
with you. Hey, Joe, I'm going to keep. I'm going to keep it a bug. Joe, I'm going to say. You
weren't driving 86, but you were driving faster than the 61.
Yo, I'll keep it a bug with you, man. This, this speed, this is speeding. I'm
I understand that you are.
This is definitely easy.
It's going against the law.
This is going too fast.
You don't need to be driving as fast.
But what they don't understand, 480?
Joe, 480, traffic be moving.
Traffic be moving.
You be going 80 on there because that's how fast traffic is moving.
So you may go 86 just to pass on the left, you know?
On the left.
Because if I'm rolling with traffic and, you know, I got to pass somebody because, you know,
I don't like rolling with traffic for some reason.
I like to be moving through traffic a little.
bit. So I'm going to hit the left lane and I'm going to pass through. Plus, my dude, he pled not
guilty to it. Okay. So the radar might have hit the wrong car, like something like that.
It ain't like the man was doing a buck something. No, not a buck. 86 is fast, but he's not
fast and furious. And here's the crazy thing, bro. This happened almost a month ago, bro. Why is y'all
bringing this out over the last couple days? What's your report is doing over there? What's your
reporters doing over there, man.
They only want to report nothing positive.
That man, listen, man, that man.
I'm here to stand for Deshaun for this one to be like, look, brother, it's all good, man.
You just got to slow this.
You know how people can slow down.
We got games to play.
We got to beat Jacksonville.
That's my man's goal.
It's probably trying to get home.
It was after the preseason game.
He was getting home to study.
Ain't that the last game where they were talking,
Grewford, and is that the game?
I don't think that was the game, though, Joe.
That was the game before that.
because he didn't play in the last one, Joe.
So would he speed and fault?
Let me stop, Joe.
I'm just tripping.
I'm just tripping.
I don't know why I just can't.
You know what I'm saying?
I have a hard time giving something, you know,
I'm like they reporters over there in Cleveland.
I'm looking for the worst.
I'm trying to make everything bad.
Go on.
Come on, man.
That's why I can't wait for the games to start.
So we can actually start talking about what's going on in the field.
So then we had even for landfill.
It matters because we play to win the game.
We was talking about the Rams.
they were supposed to be, I was expecting to be nice.
Listen, smack up.
You got to fight that ticket all day.
He's right, though.
Even if they didn't hit the wrong card, you still got to fight that ticket.
Because you're talking about 26 over.
That's recid soap.
You can't sign to that.
You can't, you go to court, you plea that down.
You go ahead, get a lesser, you know, thing.
And then you go ahead and pay the fine.
You don't never jump in that thing and pay nothing like that
because that's so many points on your license.
This is going to be ridiculous.
I'm going to make you have to prove that every piece of equal.
equipment you had on that stop is perfectly measured out, calibrated.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yes.
I know, you know, because you had, you had to do, you had it sound like you know from experience.
What are you talking about, Joe?
What that mean?
Hey, Joe, I ain't never got.
I ain't, I, I know.
Hey, man, the Browns, uh, defense event, Jared verse, sports.
spoke to the media about Cleveland being counted out against the Jags.
We got some video here, Joseph.
I don't really care about the motivation.
I don't really care too much about what other people think.
My main focus is the Browns fans and the Browns organization.
Respect is the thing that you can't just get.
No one just hands you respect.
You have to earn that every week.
You can't get it just by, you know, what you do on the practice field,
what you do that every Sunday is, you know, the biggest thing.
And going out of this game one and O, that will give us the most of my respect we can possibly get.
Hey, Joe, I like it.
I ain't gonna lie to you, man.
I know you do.
I know you do.
I know you do.
I would say different.
I know you do.
I would put ownership before the fans.
Because if it was for the fans,
you wouldn't even be there, bro.
But that might be a happy, good thing for you
because you still be back there in L.A.
But not right now it wouldn't be a good thing
because y'all would have got dog walk.
You know what I'm saying?
They ain't got dog walk.
It don't matter.
And now, you know, looking at, you know,
the decision of sending him over there,
you know what I'm saying?
sending Miles over there that Barry made.
Now, I don't know what he did.
Was he looking into the future?
I don't know.
We go find out after, you know, a few more games.
But, you know what I'm saying?
Like, they got memes up there where, you know,
Aaron Rogers on the corner rushing the quarterback.
They're talking about it was Miles Garrett.
I tell you this.
That man, Jared Verne was watching that game.
Smiling ear to ear.
Ear to ear.
I tell you what thing.
He's looking at it now like this.
Okay.
Crown him.
Why don't you?
Crown them, why don't you?
The games are played.
The game is meant to be played.
The game has to be played.
So now, end of the day with Jerryverse,
I love what he's saying,
because guess what?
You do play for the Cleveland Browns.
Everybody does keep talking.
The only way you can change what they say
is if you win the game.
When you win games,
then they can start, like,
whatever they told me, it doesn't matter
because you're winning games.
You're figuring out a way
to leave the stadium with a win.
So with him,
what I'm rocking with,
Jerryverse is, you're a thousand percent right.
Don't matter what anybody else.
If they think you're going to win, like the Rams, you go out there and get smacked.
They think you're going to lose.
You can go out there and dog walk them.
It doesn't matter what people think.
It doesn't matter what we say.
It matters when you go out there and play this game.
And it matters if you're quarterbacks, it matters if your offensive line, if your
defense's the line, if everybody's coordinated, if y'all are missing,
and people are just running Scott free down the lines.
So it matters about you can control the narrative.
Only thing we're doing is reporting the news.
So if you come in there and ball out and you beat Jacksonville and dog walk him 27 to 7,
then you'll start gaining respect because there's nothing you can go say right now,
playing for the Browns knowing we won four games last year that make people be like this.
Oh, yeah, I believe, I believe, because you're going to look stupid because we believe, believe, believe,
and you go out there and lose.
So until when you start winning games, that's when people will be like this, okay, bet,
there's something to what you're saying.
Oh, no, I'm saying.
are actually going up there putting in worse.
So I'm rocking with everything
that Jerry versus said. And like you said, he
over there watching that game.
Man, he's watching that game sitting over
there just happy as he
want to be, man. She's
in and smiling, Joe. Cheezing and
smiling. Once you get rid of me,
Joe, my homeboys on that
team is my homeboys. Listen,
I hope y'all play great.
I hope you play well. I hope you all play great.
I don't want you to lose every game
as a team.
No.
harm of danger. I want you to go, you go for a hundred. Go for a hundred. Go on.
Every game as a team. And then at the last second, somebody tripped and fall and they scored.
Yo, when I was sitting there. But you balled out though. You can still go to the Pro Bowl. I want you to go all pro.
Go on. No question. I love you. No question. But your team, y'all are going to lose everything.
I want you to go over there in Cincinnati, Joe. I'm like, oh, yeah. I want you to get me.
Oh, yeah. I'm sitting over and like, oh, yeah. And we made the playoffs. They didn't make the playoffs.
I'm like, oh.
Yeah.
And we won the North, took JFC North.
You want to get rid of me?
Okay.
You want to do this to me?
You want to do this to me?
You'll do this to me.
You'll do us.
Man.
Come on, verse.
Because I'm telling you that's the only way that you can get something going is winning games.
So I'm loving Jerry versus energy, Debo.
I'm loving this juice.
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
That's what we need.
Now, look here, man.
We had talked about this.
This is before, brother.
Like, hey, y'all need to pay the man because he's worth it.
If you look at it.
Now, the Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield have agreed to a three-year, $165 million extension.
The extension includes $110 million in new guarantees on top of the 40 million guarantee that Baker was scheduled to make in 2026.
The Bucks originally offered Baker a two-year 50 million, but Mayfield,
And his agent, Tom Mills, felt the deal was too light.
Yeah, it's too light.
You need to add some more time on there with some more money, okay?
The New Deal averages 55 per season tied for third highest in the league, Joe.
Now, some people say that might be too big of a bag for Baker.
Joe, you tell me what you think because I know you got a personal relationship with the man.
You don't play with the man.
You've seen what the man can do.
And we've seen what the man can do.
We've seen the numbers that the man put up.
Joe, go ahead and take off.
It goes from, yes, Debo, we spoke on this, and we said that the market is the market.
When you have new quarterbacks that come in like Trevor Lawrence,
when Trevor Lawrence signed his bag, he's making $55 million a year, nobody's worried about it.
You have Jordan Love.
He comes in and he signs his contract.
And for the last three years, Baker Mayfield has played better than Jordan Love.
He's played better than obviously Daniel Jones.
He's played better than Justin Herbert when we talk about the numbers.
His stats, he's in passing touchdowns in the last three seasons over everybody.
He's second in NFL.
In passing yards, he's third in NFL.
And in passion completion, he's second in the NFL.
So when you say, like, that's Josh Allen's in the NFL, Lamar Jackson's in NFL,
Joe Burroughs in the NFL, Justin Herbert's in the NFL.
So when you start talking about people that when you talk about stats versus people in your contemporaries,
It's like the numbers are the numbers.
My agent is here to show me what I've done.
When I ended up getting that one year, prove it one for four,
and then I signed a three for 33.
Basically like Sam Darno did, $35 million a year,
he signed for $33 when the dudes are making $50.
Okay, I understand.
Now you got dudes making $60 million a year.
I'm not trying to, 65, I'm not trying to reset the market,
but you can't tell me that Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence
have better stats to me in these last three seasons that I've played in the NFL.
So it's a short-term deal.
It's all good.
Now these dudes, they're getting five-year extensions.
Baker-Mayfield is saying, I can get the same for three,
and it'll be two years of guaranteed money,
and then y'all can let me go after one.
So basically it's a two-year deal that y'all signed me for.
I think I'm worth $100 million in these next two years.
$50 million.
You owe me.
From his stats and what he's done,
that you're paying from him for the three seats,
during the last three years,
he's number two in touchdowns.
He's number three in yards and two incompletions.
It's like the numbers are the numbers.
So it don't matter if you like Baker Mayfield,
if you don't, his stats versus the contemporaries of people that are making that money,
he has every right to ask for that money because that's what the market represents.
So when he gets this money, I'm like this, you know what, Baker?
You deserve it because now you've got to continue the ball because after these two years
of that $50 million, you're up.
You're back to the table quick.
So you have to continue to perform because people are looking at you now like, yes,
you're making this money.
You have to be able to ball because if not, you're going to go to the tour.
You're going to turn it to the contract.
No, not that.
Not like that.
Sean, no, listen, listen.
Tua, Watson, aware, instantly you have to start proving yourself again.
They're not going to make, they're not going to start giving you just 50, 60 million dollars a year.
It's just because he's doing this and he barely, he had to fight for the 50.
Yeah.
Had to fight for his life to get to 50.
That man can't.
Fight for his life.
Up and down.
You can't, you fight and you're fighting for 50 and your number say you should get 60.
That's crazy.
You can't.
Yes.
But Baker and Mayfield knows what it is.
He knows how the league is.
He knows he's getting a little bit up there in the league in gear.
So when the younger dudes like love and Trevor Lawrence, they're like, this is in their first contract.
Baker Mayfield, this is going in his ninth year in the league.
They're trying to like, they're still making them work for it.
Like, okay, no, you're in there, okay?
But you have to still perform at second in the league in passing touchdowns.
Second in the league in yards.
You better continue to ball because you're not resetting the market, but you're going to get, okay, now, okay, you're a franchise quarterback.
You better continue to play like it.
Or we're at your neck.
No question.
You know what I'm saying?
Like he, there's no, there's no up for Baker Mayfield.
You better keep playing, and they're going to give you what they feel like you need to get, like right there.
Yeah.
And I hear, I mean, I've never played with him, but I hear he's, he's, you know, one of those teammates that you want to play with.
He's there.
He's present.
He's a dude that's a great leader.
I mean, you play with him.
So, I don't, you know, I don't know those things, but I haven't heard a bad word about him.
Yeah.
So, I'm happy for him.
I'm glad you got that 5-5, man.
Well-deserved.
You probably could have stuck them up for a little bit more.
I don't know.

Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in.
I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for Black Girls.
We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run,
bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now.
So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all of the same time.
We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust.
There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
and then there's fitting in.
Spitting in says, I have to change who I am
in order to avoid rejection.
Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers,
sitting down with therapists,
Keer Gaines on Black fatherhood
and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage.
You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips,
you have on the dress, so you can't cross your legs.
That's the range of this run,

You have to get off her device,
but the reality is there's a lot of life out there

No, I think the biggest thing he was doing, he was trying to fight for that third year.
Yes.
They gave him the two-year $100 million with $50 million guaranteed.
So that's the one-year contract.
Did you give him that this contract is a two-year-old.
year and you get that third if you're still doing your thing.
You get that third if you still hooping, but I know no matter what, after the first,
I still got the other 55 coming.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, just for security.
No question.
The Giants, new head coach, John Harbaugh, is letting the New York media know early.
He isn't saying nothing about, nothing he don't want to say nothing about.
Check it out.
I mean, we said you took some contact
Is you can't.
I just say this right now.
We've just stopped all these questions
because I'm not going to tell you
who's playing in the game.
I'm not going to tell you who's starting.
I'm not going to tell you what package we have in.
I'm not going to tell you what plays we're running.
I'm not going to tell you any of that.
So we can make it great
and have a great press conference
or we can make it uncomfortable.
But I'm not going to tell you
because when you know, the Cowboys know,
or every other team we play knows.
And that's not the competitive interests of our football teams.
Does that make sense?
So I think you can respond.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, they ain't hear that.
Run that back one more time for me, please.
Run that back for me, one more time for me, please.
Let me hear that one more time.
I just say this, I can just say this right now.
We've put it stopped all these questions because I'm not going to tell you who's playing in the game.
I'm not going to tell you who's starting.
I'm not going to tell you what package we have in.
I'm not going to tell you what plays we're running.
I'm not going to tell you.
tell you any of that. You can ask it. So we can make it great and have a great press conference.
We can make this great. Or we can make it uncomfortable. But I'm not going to tell you because
when you know, the Cowboys know or every other team we play knows. And that's not the competitive
interest of our football teams. Does that make sense? So I think you can respect that.
Listen, they go have to respect that. And that makes sense to me, Joe. You know why it makes
sense to me? It's because what a lot of these media people don't understand and realize is that
Just because you ask the question don't mean I have to answer it.
I think a lot of players should take that advice.
Just because they ask the question don't mean you have to answer it.
They ask you an uncomfortable question.
You don't have to answer it.
The only thing you've got to do is be available to take questions.
They cannot force you to give a question.
That's like saying you have to answer this question.
You have to answer it truthful.
Like you're under oath on the jury stand.
No, that's not what it is.
Media availability is what you have to give them.
If you don't want to talk and answer that question,
you don't have to talk.
You actually don't have to talk.
That's the crazy thing.
You just got to be available, bro.
Like, listen, start following this, okay?
Especially for you dudes in Cleveland, man,
stop letting them try to set you up for the tricky dicky.
Okay.
Go and answer what you want to answer
and everything else.
Just be like, you know what?
I was walking my dog today now that I think about it.
Go on something totally different.
That'll let them know I'm not going to answer your question.
Uh-huh.
So are you with how he answered,
how he did this interview just now?
I'm all with it.
Because why wouldn't I go sit there?
there and I don't told y'all I'm not answering these questions. He doesn't actually gave y'all
a frame of the questions that he's not going to answer. So with that being the case, why continue
to try and ask a different question geared a different way that is going to be rounded to him
giving the same answer? No, he's not going to do it. So if y'all want to make this a good interview,
we can make this a good interview, get off of these questions and get on to something else. Or we can
make this real uncomfortable.
And you can sit here
and it could be one of those
where it's like, hey, hey,
your coach over there in
Cleveland,
dude, he needs to take some of this advice.
You ain't got to answer them questions they ask you,
bro. Like, you don't have to answer it.
I know it would be messed up,
not to answer it or however it may look,
especially if it's a question about, you know,
starting this and that. But a lot of the answers,
he over there, Monkin, given, bro,
they cause more hurt than good.
No, for sure.
I feel you, Debo.
I think one of the main thing is controlling the interview.
You are in full control of what you say.
You don't have to say certain things.
You don't have to answer certain questions.
You don't have to answer any questions.
You don't have to answer anything.
No, for sure.
And when you were saying, like, you can say anything,
spinning it to, like, do things about when I walked my dog the other day.
Like, I think that was, you know what I'm saying?
the weather was nice.
When you're giving yourself, all you have to do is be available,
when coach is saying, I really don't have to say nothing to you guys.
So if you keep on trying to dig, I can make this interview really awkward.
Like, I don't really want to have to answer anything.
Because if it's play-related, if it's certain things like you said that he said that he doesn't
want to talk about, starting lineups, schemes, all that.
He's like, no.
Like, I'm going to leave that for the imagination.
I'm going to make them plan for everything so then I can come in with what we got
going on because I've been working on this scheme and I don't want them. Any advantage is something.
Everybody's paying attention to what we got going on. You're going to report it. You're giving
them information on the team. I can completely understand that. So I'm with you. You can control
the interview. If they're continuing to ask questions about lineups, about just certain things,
I told you guys. I'm not going to answer it. So if you're going to keep asking me that,
it can be real awkward in here. I can just start talking about walking my dog or I just won't
say anything because you're like, you don't have to respond. So you'd be sitting there looking at you,
hit you with I'm here so I won't get fined any way to just be like media just notice I don't have to
give you anything so when I'm asking you about just certain questions I'm definitely not going to
knock into please stay away from those so we can have a cool interview I don't want it to be awkward but
I'm not going to give you information on the squad that's just not how I'm something that these
older more experienced reporters do if they try and get a hold of them rookies and be like yo
you know especially if there's some guy that you know he may be getting a lot of playing time
Hey, man, what do they have in there?
How are they going to use you?
I know they're going to do something with you, man.
Like, what is it that's going on, man?
Did you hear what he said about it?
Dude, decided.
He like, did he just put a whole thing in for me, bro?
Actually, no.
Yeah.
Actually, when they go 22 person.
Yeah, I'm going to be over here right here.
And then we got this, they got any trick plays or anything.
Yeah, we got one in there.
I can't tell y'all what it is, but it's one in there.
You just told him to got a trick play.
Be looking for a trick play.
Let me be like you're talking to.
You're saying to.
In the end of the game, be looking for the trick play, because he already told him that they got one lined up in this coming.
Like, no, y'all go ahead.
Y'all sit down, y'all chill, y'all have a good time, y'all ask reasonable questions that are things that coaches and players can answer without giving up a competitive advantage, then you'll get the answers that you're looking for.
If not, our ball said, you go get this right here.
is what it is Joseph.
That's exactly what it is.
Because, I mean, he controlled the interview.
They ain't got to say nothing.
Bill Belichick does different interviews
than a lot of other coaches.
Like, Bill, what you thought
was going to get out of Bill?
You thought Bill was going to tell you
anything about schematics?
You better go in there and ask some questions
that you expect that you're going to get an answer out of him.
Yeah, bro.
They come into something there with Bill.
He'd been like, yeah.
No.
No, you're saying, you know.
I understand.
I understand that New York media is different than the Baltimore media.
Bigger market, all that good stuff.
But what they need to understand is hardball ain't changing.
So y'all going to have to adjust.
It sucks when y'all got to adjust.
Always going to get awkward in there.
You know what I'm saying?
That's like the person that come in with the question of, hey, how do you feel?
I hit him real quick.
Good.
Good.
Next question.
Straight up.
Straight up.
Especially when I was, I was skittish
a given interview.
Yeah, good.
Feel good.
Oh, yeah.
How do you think you played?
I did all right.
Now, see, I was, I was, I was, I tried to keep a nice relationship with the media, man.
I was talking, but I didn't want to give away nothing.
Joe, you chatty.
You like to talk.
You talk to anybody, Joe.
I'm just, you just, you're just, you.
You know what, the aqua part is because I'm not trying to be mean, but then it's just I'm not trying to be mean, Joe, but I'm not going to go outside of my personality just to make you feel comfortable.
But this, see, that's my personality.
I know, you're chatty.
I'm just, you're going to talk to the wall if it, if it mess around and give you some noise.
I mean, no, no, man, I'm going to give everybody a chance.
I'm going to be chatty at first and then.
And if I don't, I'm not rocking with DeVib.
I don't talk to everybody.
You talk to anybody to talk to you?
I'm going to give them a chance, for sure.
I'm not going to turn down talking to anybody.
I'm going to talk to anybody.
Joe, I'm not not talking to you and ask you, bro.
This is what I tell you for sure.
I'm not talking to everybody twice.
That's for sure.
I'm going to give everybody a chance, Debo.
I'm going to talk to every single person.
Joe, you've given them a whole chance to somebody.
They come up to you.
Yeah, they come up to you with the,
hey, Joe, I feel to be in the NFL,
bro.
I'm like, all right.
All right.
I'm walking away.
You go sit there and chat.
You're going to let him ask three, four other goofy questions.
You know what I'm saying?
That's like, that's like my, my sons.
The question my sons hate, they hate this question, bro.
What is it like James Harrison being your dad?
They like, it's my dad.
I don't know him as anybody else but my dad.
Like, what is you talking about?
Yeah, that's the weird.
questions. I know, I know. Ask my son.
You know, your dad, Joe, you know, your dad's your dad.
Prepare for that, Joe. That you wanted to be normal.
Prepare for that, Joe. I know.
Prepare your kids for that, man. Let your kids know that it's going to be some people that's
go want to be around them just because they are your son.
And it's going to be some people that's going to hate them just because they are your son.
And all of the, all of the good and bad is going to be mixed in there.
You know what I'm saying?
So they got to have some discernment
and be able to see who is trying to get in
because they want to know them.
Who is trying to get in
because they want to know you.
The real from the faith?
The real from the fake.
They're going to have to have a high level of discernment, Joe.
Mm-hmm.
No, for sure.
Yes, sir.
That's what I'd be on, man,
making sure my kids know what's up.
Let's go on ahead and jump into these super chats.
Covenant Life is back.
$5.
She said, my grandson,
Kairn starts at safety.
Cameron, sorry, starts at safety tonight with the Central Lions.
What's your hype words to get my Joe?
What's your hype words to him, my Joe?
I'm reading off, freaked up.
Getting fired up, Debo.
He's number 14.
I'm not a hype.
Go ahead, Joe.
I'm not a hype guy, too, but I'm going to tell you what he needs to do.
What he needs to do?
Safety, communicate.
Communicate, communicate, communicate.
Make sure alignment, assignment, technique.
Every single play, be aligned, know your assignment, know your technique, and then you're going to be able to ball.
Execute.
You got to execute.
You got to execute.
You got to execute.
If you're in alignment, you know your assignment, and then you know your technique,
then you're going to be able to execute.
a better position to execute your, execute your stuff.
No question.
Make the plays you're supposed to make.
Come on.
And then every now and then, go on head and flash on.
Show him something they wasn't expecting.
You know what I understand?
Company life back in.
It's all covered in a climate.
Cutting life back again.
Poverty life is $20.
She said, he said the Rams looked like trash.
95 stopped by Trent and ate too much canker through me.
Bro.
Do they serve kangaroo meat?
I hope not.
In Australia, I mean, that's what the kangaroo is at.
I don't know for sure.
Ain't that like eating the dog?
Wow.
I don't know.
You can't even know kangaroo.
Anyway, I have made that flight.
I have made that flight and it's hard to move really after two days to a scare team because he
don't want these stiller issues.
Joe, explain your fit.
See?
First, Rams did look trash, and because you wasn't able to move for two days, you know why.
They was swollen.
They were swollen.
They were swollen.
They were over the, they couldn't even, their ankles were still swollen.
Cleats wasn't even fitting right.
So, you know, this is a fish in a barrel.
This is one out of a million.
This ain't going to happen another time like that.
That was, they look crazy.
What else we got?
She said.
Toa, to a scared.
Toa, I don't know.
From that, to it.
I just, I hope two is going to be okay,
but from his obliques and him just not,
it's not looking too good for two.
He's, she asks you, he's scared.
He's scared.
He don't want him stealing issues.
Is he scared?
You really think he's, I don't think he's scared.
Y'all are funny thinking, he's, he's in the NFL.
Like, are you really, I don't know, he's not scared.
He's not scared.
And the fit, we go on Lake Erie Monsters again,
cover the life.
You want Lake Gary Monsters, Hockey, Jersey.
You know what I'm saying?
Cleveland all the way.
Is that hockey?
Lake Erie monsters.
Is that hockey?
That's hockey.
That's hockey.
That's hockey.
You know how we do.
That minor league?
Yeah, man.
Okay.
That's something you wanted to try out.
Okay.

She likes to control everyone and tell everyone what to do.
Control is a harsh word.
I would say that's a harsh word.
I am more outspoken.
Growing up a lot of the times because she was so quiet.
I would speak for like the both of us.
Now I'm working on like thinking a moment,
reeling it in, thinking before I speak.
And Joey King.
You know if you're like,
mom is yelling at your sibling
and even if you're annoyed with your sibling,
you just like won't let that slide.
It's like only you can yell at your sibling.
I'm like, you can't do that here.
That is, you want to talk about her like that.
Only I talk about her like that.
Plus, we've been taking your calls,
listening to your voicemails and giving advice.
Or at least trying to.
So if you've got catching up to do,
now is the perfect time.

I don't know.
Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah.
It's reading.
It's called reading.
You're so we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wonderland bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore, though.
Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of you.
Yesterday.

And we do a little Halloween sometimes.

He winks on Halloween.
It's right up next to the microphone.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality.
of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus

I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero,

where I can say yes
without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita,
trading the pity for possibility.
Every time I tried to be alone,
I kept meeting people,
and they were like,
you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around.
here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're

Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in.
I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls.
We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run,
bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist
who's raising two black girls of his own
to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now.
So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all this end up.
We got into group chats and gaming,
friendships and bullying,
and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring
and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust.
There's belonging.
You could think of belonging as,
I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
And then there's fitting in.
Spitting in says I have to change who I am
in order to avoid rejection.
Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers,
sitting down with therapist Keer Gaines on Black fatherhood
and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage.
You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips,
you have on the dressy, up across your legs.
That's the range of this run.
From screen time to identity to the forefair.
father's doing the work at home.
We have to get off her device.
But the reality is there's a lot of life out there
that we don't want you as your adults in their life
to miss out on.
This has been our surviving middle school run.
Brought to you by the people who spend their careers
thinking about exactly this.
I'm Dr. Joy.
Listen to therapy for black girls on the Iheart radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm just making sure you ain't want to go out there and do nothing else to mess with your
leg.
Anything for the leg.
You out there trying to play basketball.
So that's all I was saying, Joe.
The key man, one, two, three, $10,
said, hey, Debo and Joe, y'all going to the Tennessee,
y'all going up to Tennessee for the Steelers Titans in January.
You going up, Joe?
I had a lot of plans to go up.
I have it in the books.
Also, how good do you think Rogers does this season?
And do you think we get 12 wins in a playoff?
win go stillers. Facts.
We get 12 wins and a
playoff win. I think we go
worst case, I think we go 13
and 4. That's
that's my thing. I think
we go 13 and 4. Best case
we run the board.
I ain't about to
if it's 17
games to be played, best case is
we win all 17. Ain't that the best
case, Joe? That
is the best case. All 17.
straight through the playoffs.
We go twanky and old.
First team to ever two is what, the 72 Dolphins.
Man, they did 13 and 4 is what you're saying.
Worst case.
What you're saying, Joe?
Oh, no, I'm saying we're going definitely go 13 and four.
And playoffs, we're going to win a playoff.
Obviously, we're going to win a playoff game.
Okay.
And then, yeah, it was.
The same thing I said, it's health, and we just got to stay healthy.
And we're going to see what our defense looks like in our offensive line.
Oh, Lord, man, I forgot about it.
Don't forget, because that's what I'm focused.
I've got to make sure because I got two offensive lines.
And they got Cook out there starting at that right town.
Offensive line.
Hey, Cook, I'm watching you, brough.
I am watching you.
Y'all tell him I'm watching.
Yeah, I'm watching.
You got eyes on them?
I'm watching him like a hawk.
I am not, I am not even close to, to, to, to, to, uh, pleased with the performance in the preseason.
That goes for the whole, uh, combination of the offensive line, but him personally, most definitely.
Okay.
Most definitely.
And you know what?
You know, we got eyes on.
No.
You know, I got eyes on.
my dog queen
okay okay
for show for show
my dog queen
listen bro
I got eyes on queen
and I got eyes on P Dug
mm-hmm
no it's it's the tandem
I think they
obviously
are defense
obviously
obviously that goes without being said
because I need T.J
I need Hossmith
I need Herbert
to do
to all and be
I need all pro pro pro bowl
performance
from all of them, talking about double-digit sacks.
And then, that just goes without being said.
But then from the lineback and crew, bro, I just need us to be filling, filling, filling, filling,
the gaps.
I don't need, I need us to be able to stop two-yard games, one-yard games, meet them at the
line of scrimmage, some of those.
Secondary, communication, Debo.
That's all I ask, because we got the skills, we got the players.
if you're if a body on the body and they're making plays on you okay all right a couple like you know
I'm saying everybody's getting paid but you should never have somebody running sky free do our defense
people looking around like they don't the hell hands up in the air you should already there should be
so much talking because the communication is everybody's on the same page so then if we get beat
okay now we can deal with it but I just don't need to see us busting in the secondary yeah definitely
brother. We got
Nick Breeding $9.2.285.
He said, when are you and Joe
going to play Danny Ball? Or is he
two victim weight?
What is Danny Ball? Oh, you don't want
none of that.
Joe. What is Danny Ball? I'm going to show you,
I'm going to show you a video with Danny Ball. So basically
what you do is you're playing volleyball. You're playing
volleyball with a 10-pound medicine ball. Oh, with
the medicine ball? Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
And, you know, you got to do something with your hip, you know what I'm saying?
You got to get into the depths of your squat to get it back over, over that line.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, for guys that is like you that are that victim weight, it's a struggle.
You know?
It's not even about my weight.
It's about my hip.
You play hoop, though.
You're running on hard wood.
It's played insane.
No, for sure.
How much, how much, how much, how much, how much, how much, how much, how much, how much, how much?
Oh.
Hey, Joe, I tell you what we'll do, man.
We'll just go out there.
We'll just go out there and toss it around a little bit.
I tossed the ball to you a little bit.
We'll let you let you get a feel for, you know what I'm saying?
Let you get to understand that of the forces that come on two.
It's two on two.
It's two on two.
It's no steps.
You know what?
Catch the ball unless it's in the process of catching the ball, then you can continue
through the motion.
Otherwise, where you catch it is where you throw it.
You know what?
I found my partner.
You.
The hell.
You ain't about to have me out there working like a broke dick, y'all.
You understand?
Uh-uh.
I'm going to be over there trying to catch up for you and take up for you.
They'll be hitting blind spots on me and everything.
No.
No, Debo, I'm telling you.
Look here, man.
I need you on my team for motivation.
Listen, hey.
I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a play on your team.
But I'm going to make sure.
we get some newbies at least one.
We got to play against somebody that's 185.
Yeah, we got to get paid.
We got to put the weight classes on this.
We got to level up the weight classes.
We got to put weight classes in this, man.
Yep.
We got to, yeah, we got to add our weights and combine it.
And then Lisa Lynch, 191, $20, thank you.
She said, blessings to you and your family.
Stillers going to the Super Bowl.
Amen.
Hey, look here, man.
You heard what she said.
Hey, listen to you, Debo, you know.
Hey, listen, you heard.
Listen.
Hey, I'm telling you, worst case scenario, AFC championship, man.
Worst case.
Worst case.
Worst case in there.
I'm looking, I'm looking for a.m.
That's the best thing about football.
At the beginning of the season, everybody's zero and zero.
And then you look at that.
And that offensive line, man.
I keep thinking about that, man.
Listen, man.
I hear you.
That's what I'm saying, Dibo.
You're going to think about that one.
Listen here.
Remember you just said, we're going 13 and 3 and 17 to those.
Hey.
So.
Yes, sir.
Mike, Mike, $100, $5.
Football, finally back.
Going to be a lot of teams looking for this week.
Hey, back.
Mike and Mike, I promise you that's some of the realest.
Everybody's about, yeah, my team.
team going 17 and oh.
Everybody right now, team is going to win.
Hey, that's why I said,
is it going to be a win or a loss?
For real, because it don't matter.
However you think it's going to go down,
we're going to have some funny
con, some funny talks on Monday.
Yeah.
Funny, funny, funny.
Listen, as of today.
It's going to be some funny.
It's going to be some glad.
Still, it's winning the Super Bowl.
and the Rams going 0 and 17.
Hey, bro.
After Monday morning quarterbacks, bro, are the funniest.
Because something you, next thing you know, every time, every week,
you feel like something completely changed.
Yeah.
So right now, though, we got the Steelers going to the Super Bowl, Debo.
We got the offensive line.
They haven't gave up a sack.
Right now, you know what I'm saying?
Matter of fact, Monday morning, we might have a Monday morning quarterback for show.
We, y'all got to come back and see.
Y'all might have to come back at Z.
Oh.
You understand?
I ain't going to lie to you, brother.
They're going to have to come back to see.
I ain't going to lie to you, brother.
I cannot wait to come on this journey on my day.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
I can't wait either, brother.
I cannot wait either, brother.
It's going to be.
We got some underscore one's
underscore problem.
$5.
Said Rogers.
Rogers is going to cr.
Let's see.
Hey, man, who the hell is this, bro?
Yeah.
Who ups here running up.
That's what I'm saying.
He must be a Ravens fan or something.
He said, everybody guys is going to cramp up week five from old age,
still in this playoffs because they are trash.
You trash.
Your profile picture looked like a Raven jersey.
Your little kid got a Raven jersey on.
He got a little bit on top of this profile with Sadd
I ain't got no problem going after your kid on this show.
Oh, dang, Dibo.
You're going to come on to Dibbo.
That boy, he like 11 years old.
Your son, two foot three and the 18 years old.
See, there you go.
When I was going at the kid,
when I was going at the kid messing with me
for not having a ring, you thought it was messed up.
Get him.
Get him.
Hey, man, who is this, bro?
Hey, put your face in the, put your name in the chat so everybody know.
Someone's problem.
You go come on here on Debo and show.
You're going to come on our show and run your mouth.
Talking about the steel of the trash.
He went smack.
He went smack.
Still is his trash.
And A-Rah is about to cramp because of old age, not dehydration.
How you just cramp because you old?
That's crazy.
I said, oh, this little man, tripping.
how you go, how you go just spike up?
He'll cramp up just out of nowhere.
Lock up because he just because he's over.
Man, look here.
That's wild, man.
I want to know who this is, who this is.
Who this bum is?
You're going to come over here.
Oh, he's a rat bird.
He got to be a rat bird.
Who y'all play?
You see it?
Y'all play at the coach and y'all about to lose.
Y'all play at the coach and you're about to lose.
Y'all go get dog walk.
Jonathan Taylor is going to run the rock all over y'all.
You can't stop it.
And all they go do is put Lamar in position to have to throw the rock.
They're going to make sure they can't run.
They're going to put nine in the box and then just go man up and safety over the top.
It's over with it.
Coach defense is about to be your problem, someone's problem.
That's what about to be your problem.
Because y'all trash.
You understand that?
Trash.
Don't see.
I can't wait.
Man.
But my Browns got Jacksonville.
Browns got Jacksonville and they're about to get popped to.
Because they trash.
I'm going to watch a see.
Oh, you go watch a see.
That's crazy.
You didn't even defend them.
Look at that.
That's how much confidence Joe has in your Browns.
That's how much confidence he has in the Browns.
I'm not trying to do it.
It's going to be a competitive game.
Jacksonville is a good team.
I didn't even had him on my initial list of teams
that we was going to be able to get the easy dub.
Remember, I told you, our first easy dub
was going to be the Panthers, I thought.
Panthers, then Jets, then Titans.
So this one, Jacksonville, I would give them to respect.
So when I named out our eight wins,
I didn't even put them in.
Oh, but then you're going to say that you're going to win now
because why?
What changed?
I said, this was guaranteed.
This was what I wrote was guarantee.
Oh, okay.
So you're saying this is a fight.
Now, this one is going to be, it's going to be a fight.
It's a fight.
It's a fight.
It's two.
You got to win the fight.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
First game of the season, you never know.
The first game, overreaction, people be acting like, oh, my God, what happened?
You know, people think, too.
Oh, okay.
So you're setting up the excuse already, first game.
No, no, no, no, no.
Hey, it's the first game.
Just in case, because we started off slow.
But if we start off fast, then we can start off fast.
You know you're saying the quiet thing out loud, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
Joe's saying the quiet thing out loud.
Joe ain't even listening to his own advice.
We just talked, you ain't got to answer the question, Joe.
But you got to answer the question, Joe.
Because we ain't in the media, Joe.
We ain't got to say, Joe.
And they know that you are not going to be out of here line.
You're a fake friend.
You're a true life Browns fan, but you got reality of being over there and getting your
case kicked in for your whole.
What reading Browns fan and a dot and I love and the Steelers, huge Steelers fan, humongous.
Okay.

Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the
microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet
as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to Artists on Artists on Artists every Thursday

we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can
wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility.

I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls.
We spend our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kids' brain,
the group chats, and their friendships, and what you can do about it.
Your child is not doing this on purpose.
That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists
and psychiatrists who studied this for a living.
