Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1, including the astrology of the current grid, the story of the sports most consequential driver strike,
Starting point is 00:00:20 and plenty of other mishaped scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent, dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 10, 10, shots fired in City Hall building. How could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. A shocking public murder. This is one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City politics.
Starting point is 00:00:49 I scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. A tragedy that's now forgotten. End of mystery that may or may not have been political. It may have been about sex. Listen to Rorschach, murder at City Hall on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the On Purpose Podcast. My latest episode is with Noah Kahn, the singer-songwriter behind the multi-platinum global hit Stick Season, and one of the biggest voices in music today. Talking about the mental illness stuff, it used to be this thing that I was ashamed of. Getting to talk about this is not common for me.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Right now, I need it more than ever. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Nora Jones, and my podcast playing along is back with more of my favorite musicians. Check out my newest episode with Josh Grobin. You related to The Phantom at that point. Yeah, I was definitely the Phantom in that. That's so funny. Share each day with me each night each morning.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Listen to Nora Jones is playing along on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins, but the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax. You doctored this particular test twice in so much. I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Alesspian. Michael Ranini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young.
Starting point is 00:02:34 This is Love Trapped. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How do you feel about these off-season programs? So our boy Miles Garrett, they talking about, because my man Lamar Jackson showed up, Shador showed up, Deshaun showed up, Dylan Gabriel showed up. And Miles Garrett didn't show him. Where was that?
Starting point is 00:03:04 Where was that? So he's on track to lose a million dollars in 2016 in the compensation since his contract includes a million dollars in workout bonuses to 2016. On the bonus, he need to be there for 84% of the offseason workouts, OTAs, and, yeah, and report timely for training camp. Listen. What's you thinking? What's you thinking, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:03:25 Miles Garrar's, I don't, Miles can go do whatever he want to do. That's what I'm saying. Miles do what he want to do. So you don't want your top defensive player to be there showing buy-in so everybody else show. Miles Garrett is the most brought-in person in the Cleveland Browns organization. Thank you. Thank you. He the most paid.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Broad-in shows me. Like, like, I want to see you there. Like, you know, I want you to be there. Like, I actually showed up for all, you know, for our stuff, even though I went and trained out in Arizona, I still was there like, yo, this is the part where I need to show that as one of the leaders of this team, I'm buying into this.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So I need other players to see this. So I would show up for things like that. But Miles lead in his own way, right? Yes. Miles is not a big in front of the team. I mean, you got a new head coach. Show me the new head coach. You like him.
Starting point is 00:04:22 By hand, because I'm feeling like this right now. I'm walking with juice right now. My dude, Miles ain't show up. Oh, well, I'm rousing with you right now. I feel like, I feel like, listen, I play with Miles. Miles is not the type of leader to speak up in front of the team. When he do speak in front of the team, he got everybody attention, right?
Starting point is 00:04:44 But he's more of the guy by guy in his room type of leader, right? We know what Miles Garrett is going to bring to the table. I'm sure Miles Garrett had called D. and Jimmy Haslam, called Tom Monkin, welcome him to the team, I talked to him. He didn't talk to him. Juice, he's lying. He didn't talk to him. He didn't talk to him.
Starting point is 00:05:06 He's going to. That's what I'm saying. He'll do shit like that. That's what I'm saying. I believe you too. I was like, damn. He'd do a straight face. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:14 No, I talked to him. No. But I feel like it's communicated. You know, I think, I think to your point, Debo, he could have showed up for the first day, first week, and then been out of there. But if a guy like Miles don't, it's not it's no harm no file i know what i'm going to i mean do we have a new defensive
Starting point is 00:05:35 scheme do we have a new defensive playbook like like like because i'm sure the new d coordinator came in there and he like dude i'm not about to run this dude stuff who just left schwartz and left y'all hanging i'm about to show y'all i could do it better you think they're running the same thing doing the same scheme that's no change of my garrett just go get that quarterback changed what you need to know as far as where you're going to be on the field that's all i'm sure guys that play around him need to be able to get a feel for what he's going to do. Domination. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:06:03 I'm so used to doing things correctly. It's going to be domination. That I don't know how to not have a team effort. So you can get a team Lombardi. Yeah. But when you were there, right, you have personalities, right? Was A.B. Lavion, Bell, was all these guys showing up to OTAs?
Starting point is 00:06:20 Oh, every single one, no. Not any single one, not every single time. Right. So. But they was there? Was they there or not, Joe? I mean That's the truth saying the devil
Starting point is 00:06:31 Was they there? When the OTAs came Mandatory? No, I'm talking about the regular Like any team activities Not mandatory, but it was If it was a team activity, was they there? I got CTE
Starting point is 00:06:46 I don't remember This thing got CTE now I don't remember I would say this You don't talk about Jarvis Go ahead, Jarvis No, I would say this Again, for Miles Garrett, he's not a, he's not a player that I'm going to worry about.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I understand the team aspect of it. He could have showed up maybe for the first week. But again, I'm sure he's going to be that for mandatories. You know, as far as learning the playbook and stuff like that, Debo, like there's only so many tackle-in twists and games that we can run that, that, you know, ain't nobody developing no new game or no new twist. That's the problem. Most of these coaches trying to redevelop the wheel. That's why everything is looking so crazy and defenses don't work and offenses look sloppy. Everybody want to put their own hook on it.
Starting point is 00:07:35 You can't change too much of anything without destroying. So this is what I'm saying. I'm with you. Miles Garrett earlier in the careers and two, like he is, he just haming off 23 sacks. When he walks into the room, everybody's going to know. He's going to be a mandatory minicamp. He's lifting weights elsewhere. When Miles comes, he's going to look ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:07:57 and look like he's ready to go. 100%. So, like, I'm with you a thousand percent on this. It's not as big of a deal. If he was a quarterback, if we need you to be working with your receivers, Miles, when Miles comes,
Starting point is 00:08:08 you pluck him in at defensive end. He's going to be the best in the league to do what he has to do. Like, you can't teach what Miles got. He's a biggest chest piece on the board. Yes. I don't even, man, go do what you've been doing. You're coming off.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Just come back. Just, man. Defensive player of the year. Yes. I get what you're saying. Cleveland ain't got the type of coaches that's going to actually give him any nuggets. Right?
Starting point is 00:08:32 No, but he's going to come get these nuggets? I mean, look. I'm not understanding. It's Cleveland. It's a lot of, yeah. I know 100% mandatory mini camp he'll be there. I just don't think that he's a guy that I know we need to see a lot of doing OTAs and, you know, in just jerseys and shorts.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I'm just saying, you just got a new coach. I know. We're saying it'll definitely be a good look, Steve. You get to start two weeks. I'm just saying, you know what I'm saying? Hey, Miles, but I love it. You do what you want to do, Miles. You're the baddest defensive player in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:09:05 if not the best player in the NFL. Do what you want to do. Go where you want to go. Be where you want to be. You want to go chill with your girl. Go chill with you. You want to go there and take on vacation for OTAs. You do that because you're the man.
Starting point is 00:09:19 And you're going to always be the man. I'm Jarvis Landry and now I approve of that message. It doesn't matter what. Yep. No question. No question. That's an SEC guy. Joe, no, I like to speak the egos.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Joe, know I like to speak the ego. Joe, no, don't go too crazy. Because Miles, he don't speak too many. He's going to come out there, 26 sack. 28. 28. Yeah. How many do you get on the stillers?
Starting point is 00:09:45 I mean, I don't, I don't know. None, Debo, he ain't get nothing. It's a season stat for a reason. It's a season stat. We don't care about what he did to get everybody else. It's black and gold. I mean, 2020, you went on out there.
Starting point is 00:10:01 You got you nine for, you know, what was it, nine for 95, five for 95, something like that. You know what I'm saying? You won a, you won a game against Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah. Oh, to play a playoff game. Oh, no. Joe, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Joe got beat that game. Hey, man, how did that feel? How did that feel? How did you beat Joe? Well, Joe. You played for the Steelers in 2020. I know. You was part of the team, so stop it.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Let him ask you. Man, you know what, bro? I didn't play the playoff game. I don't care. I know I was watching. I watched. I'm talking to, can you let Jarvis answer this? Please, thank you.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Man, you know what, Debo, that year was crazy because we played y'all back to back. It's almost like y'all let us in the playoffs because y'all didn't really play most of y'all starters. And then the next week, we played y'all in the wildcard game. And that shit was so personal to us, bro. and I think y'all I think the Steelers just kind of looked at it like maybe look past us but like it was
Starting point is 00:11:01 that game was so fucking personal bro like we were so hype like I can't even tell you it's like hey there's like we're going to let y'all in and go ahead and slap y'all in the playoffs that's how we felt bro and I'm telling you when we pulled up to the
Starting point is 00:11:17 butt when we pulled up to the stadium bro the energy was crazy bro everybody had the stilly eye look like nobody talking, you know what I'm saying? It wasn't even like nobody had to say anything before the game. At that time, I think who it was, Ju-Jew Smith was doing like the Carvette thing on everybody's go-go and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Bro, I'm telling our mentality going into that game, that's why you see the energy like that. Like when I score, if you go back to my touchdown, I ain't even celebrate. Like, I was just about to run to the steel of the sideline. You're looking angry. Yeah, like it's up. The whole game.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Oh, I wasn't. Y'all low-key lucky that we scored defensive points that, we scored defensive points that game too because it got out of hand early. Well, because the first snap, the ball flipped over this, went over my man's head. Yeah, yeah. That's how you start. We started the game. I'm watching, I had COVID.
Starting point is 00:12:08 So I'm watching from the crib like this. Oh! No, no, no. Like, I thought I was watching the movie. Yeah. First played a game. The ball flipped over my man's head. A horrible movie.
Starting point is 00:12:18 So I'm looking at there, bro. Y'all just, it was, yeah, it was not a good. Look, look. Bro, we, we. Who did y'all play after that, uh, that, man who played Kansas City. Took him down to, took them down to the wire. We had a, we had a bad call, bad call.
Starting point is 00:12:33 One of our guys dozed in for a touchdown. He got hit, ball crossed the line. They said it was a touchback. Listen, that game. Oh, no. One of those? Bro, one of those. That game, Patrick Mahome get hurt in the third quarter.
Starting point is 00:12:46 He's out for the rest of the game. Y'all thought it was over with you. It was like, we got this. Stars are a line. The source are lining. Thibault, like,
Starting point is 00:12:55 I'm looking, like, at first I'm like, okay, listen, we got to be perfect. You know, you play them games
Starting point is 00:13:02 and it's like, yes, we got to be perfect. You're playing against my homes. You're playing against Roderlisberger. Like, you have to be locked in.
Starting point is 00:13:09 My homes went down. We was like, listen, we really, we're good. Like, we good. Man,
Starting point is 00:13:19 Chad Henney, come off the match, bro. And just. Not Henny. Off the Henny. Chad Henny off the Henny. Hennie off the Henny.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Destroyed it, bro. So we ended up losing that game. That same year we had beat Buffalo, right? That same year we had beat Buffalo. So we knew that if we won that game, we were going to probably play Buffalo. And we had beat them already. We already. We didn't look, we wasn't looking passing, but we already knew that like, bro, we could play in the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Like that was a Super Bowl. And that year, we didn't even, that year we lost Odell in, like, game like nine. Game nine or ten, we lost Odell. So we didn't even have Odell back and we were kind of, we made that push to the playoffs. So the next year when we got them back, we thought it would be like, okay, now we finally here, right? Yeah. And then he got traded to the Rams and, you know, the rest is his history. Damn.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Crazy. Crazy turn of events. Crazy turn of events. Chad Henney off the Henney, crazy. Chad Henney off the handy. That end a possible historic run for y'all. It was, man. It ended the team.
Starting point is 00:14:25 In reality, like Joe was talking about, because in reality, O'Dell left, the whole controversy between O'Dell and Baker happened, right? And then O'Dell leaves, we lose. And then that next year, I think I'm released. Like, you know, Baker's gone. I'm released. Sean Watson come in. Like, that's the end of the run.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Yep. We had two years together. That's it. It was one and a half. Matter of fact, speaking of O'Dell, he's trying to go back to the Giants. Where do you think of the possibilities of him being there? You think it's a good idea?
Starting point is 00:14:56 You think Hardball actually make that move on the relationship there. You know what I mean? Like, I think I think for me looking at it and just as a fan and as my brother, I want to see him ball. Yeah. Like, I won't see him. I want to see him go somewhere and they're going to put the ball in his hands too. Like, again, like I understand.
Starting point is 00:15:17 You know what I mean? but like put the ball in his. Do you think New York would be sweet, though? I think because if they got Malik, they got Malik neighbors, and then he could be, if he could still be two, you know what I'm saying? I think he could still be able to get the ball out there. And I think towards you walk,
Starting point is 00:15:33 when you get towards the end of your career being able to. I'm Luke Wilson. Join me each week for Film Never Lies. Since retiring from the NFL, I've had a lot of my mind, and now got my own show. To retire to lazy takes, if you want honest conversations, join us each week. Film Never Lies.
Starting point is 00:15:48 on all TSN platforms in the IHeart Radio app. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than no grip. A new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F-1, including the astrology of the current grid. Lewis Hamilton, Crapicorn Sun, Cancer Moon. Wouldn't you know it?
Starting point is 00:16:10 Michael Schumacher is also a Capricorn Sun, Cancer Moon. The story of the sports most consequential driver strike. We have one man who, upon hearing that he was going to, to be fired, freaked out, and apparently climbed out the window of the bathroom. And was Daniel Ricardo's illustrious F1 career, a success story, a cautionary tale, or some combination of both? He started getting all this attention, and he maybe started to think, I'm bigger than this, I'm better, and plenty of other mishap scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent, dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:16:50 A silver 40-caliber handgun was recovered at the scene. From IHeart podcasts and Best Case Studios. This is Worshack, murder at City Hall. How could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons. And in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Now everybody in the chamber is ducked. A shocking public murder. I scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. Those are shots, get down. A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time. I still have a weapon and I could shoot you.
Starting point is 00:17:47 And an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was a victim of a fly. That may or may not have been political. That may have been about sex. Listen to Roershack, murder at City Hall, on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the On Purpose podcast. My latest episode is with Noah Kahn, the singer-songwriter behind the multi-platinum global hit Stick Season, and one of the biggest voices in music today.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Noah opens up about the pressure that followed his rapid success, his struggles with mental health and body image, and the first. fear of starting again after such a defining moment in his career. It's easy to look at somebody and be like, your life must be so sick. Man, you have no clue. Talking about the mental illness stuff, it used to be this thing that I was ashamed of. I'm just now trying to unwind this idea that I have to be unhealthy physically or in pain in some emotional way in my life to create good music.
Starting point is 00:18:47 If someone says that I did a good job, I'm like, yeah, I'm good. Someone says that I suck. I'm like, I suck. Getting to talk about this. It's not common for me. Right now, I need it more than ever. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing Along is back.
Starting point is 00:19:11 I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Every episode's a little different, but it all involves music and conversation with some of my favorite musicians. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave Grohl, Leveh, Mavis Staples, Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy, really too many to name. And this season, I've sat down with Alessia Cara, Sarah McLaughlin, John Legend, and more. Check out my new episode with Josh Grobin. You related to the Phantom at that point. Yeah, I was definitely the Phantom in that. That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Share each day with me each night. Each morning say you love me. You know. So come hang out with us in the studio and listen to Playing Along on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. With a play where it started and it being like a good situation, they got a young quarterback, they got a scatterboo. They start to look. They don't just look weak. They look like they're trying to do something so he wouldn't just be going.
Starting point is 00:20:16 They got swag. They're about to get beat. Yeah, the quarterback got swag. They got, you know what I'm saying? And that's what, oh, brought to New York. So I think it would be a nice fitting way to, you know what I'm saying? Because I know he still want to play. He's been running around getting right.
Starting point is 00:20:28 So for me, I want to see him ball. And him in the 13 in New York always. It was been legendary. So that would be crazy. Yeah, it'll be crazy, bro. It'll be crazy. And I think they got like the second of the third pick this year too. So from what I've seen, the Jeremiah love kick or potentially, you know, show up there and be a giant.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I think that could be an amazing, amazing fit to add a piece like Odell to that, right? Especially with neighbors coming off the ACL, right? It could be a great, it could be a match meeting having to be able to run the football, play action, fix some stuff. Get Odell in different, you know, that third level, second third level, right? Let Malik neighbors do his thing, ISO and it could be a great fit. Come in, scatibu, come back in and bring some more elements in the red zone. I think it would be awesome. I think it would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:21:19 match made in heaven. And at a fair price. Yeah. Is it going to have to be? I mean, it's going to have to be. But I'm saying that's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it.
Starting point is 00:21:30 We both need to take to the tango. Yeah. No question. No question. I can get you for a little bit, and you're going to give me some, you're going to give me some return. For sure.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Yes, sir. That's not like a great investment. That's not like a great investment in me. New York. Yeah. Let's go on down here to Jacksonville, man. They got Travis Hunter. They're saying he going to be a full-time cornerback.
Starting point is 00:21:54 I guess they're going to give him some gadget plays offense, no longer 50-50 split like he did in Colorado. Do y'all like this move? Do you all like him being more of a cornerback or more of a receiver? Which one do you think? Go ahead and Joe, that one. Oh, for me, I think he can be a Hall of Fame, one of the best to do it at Corner.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I think he's a natural corner. corner. His ball skills and way he can do a wide receiver, putting that at the cornerback position is what makes cornerbacks elite. Being able to track the ball, being able to not get uncomfortable, being able to not panic on the fade, being able to not grab, being able to like, literally, you see the ball, I see the ball, now I'm going to turn the receiver. I'm going to jump over the receiver, catch the ball. And instincts, not being afraid to tackle, not being afraid to hit. He's amazing with the ball in his hands. So when I look at prime time Dionne Sanders, Deion Sanders could have been a wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:22:49 He could have been a receiver in the league and did work at receiver. But I don't think it would have been prime time, the best cornerback, the best receiver to ever play, the way that I look at him as the best cornerback to ever play. And when we say gadget plays, do the same thing as him. You could put him at punt returner. Let him get a couple kickoff returns when you need it. Put him at wide receiver a little bit. Those are the positions where that man's an athlete.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Put him in the punt return, fair catch. But if he catches that punt, he can take that to the crib. Game changer. kickoff with A-hand. When he catches that kickoff with space, you want space in grass, like what Coach T. would say, do you give me ball in green grass? You get that in Travis Hunter's hands, then he's going to be explosive. So on defense, in my opinion, just the footwork, the ball skills, the speed, the not afraid to hit,
Starting point is 00:23:35 all that is what makes him unbelievably elite at corner. Receiver, he can do it too. And I'm not saying he wouldn't be amazing. He could probably go pro bowl. But just from my eyes, I'm like, dude, you. can be one of the best to ever do at that corner from his Colorado take. What do you think? What do you think, Jarvis?
Starting point is 00:23:50 Man, Joe said every point that I would, that I literally would say from being elite to, you know, being a part returner to using this instincts as from taking that receiver instinct to the, to the, to the defense side of the ball. We saw a lot of that at Colorado, you know, before he came out where, you know, he's falling from, he falling off of the under to, to the wheel. Yes. Making, playing off instincts. playing, I think he can play faster that way.
Starting point is 00:24:17 You know what I mean? I think his ability is through the roof of what he could do defensively more than what he can give you as an offensive player. Offensively, there's too many limitations. There's too many other needs for him to be successful. The quarterback has to be perfect. The line has to this. The coverage has to be, you know, there's so many times,
Starting point is 00:24:36 offense coach, draw you up a play and they run the perfect coverage that ball don't go to you. Right. So I want to see Travis Hunter be a. as explosive he can be on every play. And I think being on the defensive side of the ball gives him the chance to do that. Yeah. Helps the football team.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Yeah. Definitely helps the football team a lot more. And then like you said, you can still get him over there every nine and then to see what he could do right there on that one. Because Travis Hunter, you put him on your number one receiver and I'm liking that. Like he's not afraid of nobody. Like nobody's going to out-athlete that man. Right. And
Starting point is 00:25:13 And then he gets to learning, what route is this man going to run? I'm not just going to have to play, man. I'm going to know he's overspit. It's third and three. I'm playing with the quarterback. I'm jumping this hitch. Because when I see him in zone, cover two, he's playing high to low, playing with the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:25:28 He's picking off the low route. When you're supposed to make sure you take away to seven and then you come down and pick the hitch. I'm like, you're supposed to just catch and tackle. You're supposed to make a tackle there. When you pick that off, I'm like this. Okay. And score.
Starting point is 00:25:41 You know what I'm saying? And then you score. You know what I'm saying? You don't even die. And he's diving, catching it. And in one, you're in the league, you can get up and run. Like, his ball skills, his way to catch the ball and all of his smarts. And now being able to let the NFL game slow down and be out there all the time knowing, I'm a corner.
Starting point is 00:25:59 I'm following this dude. I'm going to be able to study him. And now you're going to be able to lock shit down and be able to be one of the best corners instead of, all right, I'm going to do a little bit of defense. Yeah. Then I'm going to go ahead and try to figure out what I got to get into this offensive bag. Like, yeah. He's definitely game change. Change the defense side.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Give me your top five receivers in the league right now. Right now? Right now. Justin Jefferson. Uh-huh. Jamar Chase. C.D. Lamb. I like that.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Jason and St. Brown. Mm-hmm. Give me your five all-time. All-time. Jerry. Yep. Larry. Nice hands.
Starting point is 00:26:45 T.O. Yeah. And I'm going to throw my two dark horses. Mm-hmm. Because it's your top because it's yours. Anquine Bowden and Hines Ward. Ooh. Over Moss?
Starting point is 00:27:07 Listen, that's my two dark horses. I think Moss is obviously Moss is there, but I didn't watch. T.O. is my favorite receiver growing up, right? Okay. Jerry Rice was my, my, my, uncle's favorite receiver. So he was the reason that my brother wore number 80. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:24 And then I wore number 80 from my brother. So I just fell in love with Jerry Rice that way. Okay. Yes. Even though he'd a goat. He'd a goat. Great is of all times. Right?
Starting point is 00:27:36 Heinz Ward. Yes. I remember this dude broke somebody jaw on crack block. Hey. Hey. Listen, I told you, the rules on both sides of the ball, man. That's why they brought that crack back back, man.
Starting point is 00:27:48 You used to be able to go up there and clean somebody up, man. That's the Heinz board rule right here. You got to realize. He broke a river's jaw over there in Cincinnati. I realize what type of player that you're talking to. You running the ball. You're blocking. You're getting gritty with it.
Starting point is 00:28:02 You're trying, you are toting the ball through the paint. 100%. 100%. So I watch a ton of Heinz War. And Heinz War, obviously, toward the end of his career, he got bigger, right? Have more heavy a set, right? But, like, Heinz War is an animal. Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:18 And I hate that people like that get to get to looking crazy. Yeah. Or that people forget. Or that people forget, right? Like, like that, bro, this Hall of Famer. Yes. Like this dude was, this dude was like legit for a long, long, long time. Yes, brother.
Starting point is 00:28:40 And this is it. And that's why people like Heinz going to always be remembered because people like you, they're not going to let them be forgotten. Oh, he can't. He can't. He on my Mount Rushmore. Like, he up there. Like, Debo, I'm telling you all, I'm telling you. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I used to watch this guy highlight tapes. The reason why I blocked, the way I blocked was because of Heinz War. Come on, man. And, you know, also, my knock-a-see-hens award in your game. Man, for sure. My knock was always my speed. So I was always looking at players that was very similar to me to how can I adapt my game. Because if they're playing at that level, I believe that I could play at that level,
Starting point is 00:29:17 not being a speed demon or whatever it is. And back when I came in, that was a big thing, but it wasn't the biggest thing like it is now, right? How fast is this kid, right? Yeah. But it was more about, is he a football player? And I feel like I had game speed. You watch Anquan Bowden.
Starting point is 00:29:32 That's what I was about to say. What about Quon? Bro, a killer. I want to say Anquan Bowling, first touch was a touchdown. If I'm not mistaken, his first touch in the NFL was a touchdown when he was out in Arizona.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Where in number 81? I want to say he was number 81. Yes, yes, yes. Oh, animal. Because my time I remember Anquan was when he played for the Ravens, and he was so strong. And that man, I did not like Anquan because he would block me so hard. I thought he had a problem with me because, like, some dudes, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:03 they might run the receiver off. He's a receiver. If it's a running play, he's going to hat and hands me. And I'm like, bro, soon he grabbed, I'm like, bro, like, I thought he was, I'm like, no, he just not saying nothing to me. Like, no, like, oh, it's. no communication. I'm just about the dog you. I'm like this. Okay. I respect it. Because you playing all within the rules and the whistles, but you really running up on me and
Starting point is 00:30:26 hat and hand to me every time. My all-time favorite, bro. He won't my all-time favorites. And then obviously Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, I got a cut up of when I was in high school Larry Fitzgerald making all his crazy ass catches when he was out in Pittsburgh practicing, you know, Pittsburgh. And I'm like, man, who is this guy? This guy like, Damn, he's catching everything with one hand. He catching behind his back. He diving, all this. And I'm like, for me, he showed me that any time a ball is throwing to a receiver in that catch radius, it's catchable.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Yes. If you touch it. Bro, this man got crazy hands. That man got the best, one of the craziest stats ever. He got more tackles in the NFL than drop passes in his career. Come on, man. Like, when was he tackled? And people don't even mention this man in their top five.
Starting point is 00:31:17 No, no, no, no. Yeah, that. And I'm not talking, D. I ain't talking about flashy. I don't know if that's a good stack. I'm talking about flashy and dancing. No, you're just talking about getting it done. Or something I'm getting done.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Like, and he played on one team. It's a tired career. Stand up. Stand up, dude. You never heard nothing about Larry. Ever. Out the way. Oh, nah.
Starting point is 00:31:36 He on my mountain. Westmore. Yeah. Out there. Way up there. Way up there. Jarvis, you, you, uh, you just started your podcast, I guess a little while ago with, uh, Fourth and South, man.
Starting point is 00:31:49 How that's going, man? What have you learned through this process, bro? It's going well, bro. You know, it's a transition, right? You know? So it's a transition. So, you know, we're still working out the case, man, but, you know, we got great people around us, great team.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Like, you guys got a great team around you. And a lot of that makes it, you know, easier to just come on and talk and do our thing. And it helps having relationships with good people, man. like you guys, you know what I mean, and other people that, you know, we're bringing on the show here and there. Sure. It's amazing, man.
Starting point is 00:32:22 I can't say enough about it. I wouldn't say it's something I saw myself doing. You know what I'm saying? Tell me, for real. I would not say I saw myself doing it, but at the end of the day, man, I do get enjoyed, I do get in joy. I do get enjoy, like feeling that locker room feel again.
Starting point is 00:32:37 You know what I mean? Like, just chopping it up with you off. Like, this would be conversations between practice, somewhere in training camp. But, you know what I mean? We would be having in the locker. So, you know, I do enjoy that a lot. How did it come about with you and Lenny?
Starting point is 00:32:53 Man, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so talking one day on Instagram saying he want to do a podcast and I DMed him right away. I was like, man, if you do a podcast, let me know, man. I love to like, either come on a show or whatever. And he was like, man, you should do it with me. And then from there, it just, it just kind of came to life, man. Oh, that's perfect. Yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Naturally, naturally. Naturally. And, you know, we never played, we never played together either. like you and Debo, right? Yeah, we played. I mean, we ain't played together. When I was there, I was on the same team for you.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Yeah, we were on the same team. You know what I said? Like, me and Joe was kind of the same, well, little, well, yeah, kind of the same thing. Like, actually, you know, I was looking at, you know, doing it, whatever,
Starting point is 00:33:33 and basically, you know, we were looking for someone and me and Joe ended up going to a Cam softball charity game and we just started chopping it up. Like, we had been kicking it for the last 15, 20 years, seeing each other day.
Starting point is 00:33:46 And I'm like, yo, what about Joe? I'm like, yeah, all right. And that's the best way to do it. And that's like, yeah, man, I was thinking about doing one, two, like, I'm in the process. It's like, yo, here.
Starting point is 00:33:57 That's the best way to do it, bro. That's the best way it happened, naturally, authentically, and organic, you know what I mean? That makes it easy. And y'all boys got great chemistry. I'll be checking out the show all the time, bro, so, you know, keep up the great work,
Starting point is 00:34:09 man. Appreciate it, brother. When are y'all on, man? Y'all live, y'all recorded. What times do y'all, So we go, we go Mondays and Thursdays. Okay. And our show normally drops like sometimes it drop on Tuesday,
Starting point is 00:34:24 sometimes drop on Friday. But, you know, for the most part, man, we, we shooting, you know, every week, like last week when, you know, Joe came on. I got on the show. Y'all going to see me on. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:34:37 It's actually releasing today. So it's perfect. You know what I mean? Yes, it's. Check it out. Yeah. And it's, yeah, man. Man, it's great, bro. It's great.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Goodbye. Definitely. We're going to get into the super chats on here, Dibbo? Yeah, we go jump into them super chats right here. We got Liam 9087. Five, I'll appreciate you, Liam. He said, if his press man covers one-on-one, Joe Hayden versus Jarvis, Lamb,
Starting point is 00:35:05 who, beaten, who? Damn. Joe, why they always do this, son? Hey, right, why they got to go like that? You already know. You already know how he's feeling. It's going to be, it, look, it's big. going to be. I'm Luke Wilson. Join me each week for Film Never Lies. Since retiring from the NFL, I've

Starting point is 00:36:17 mishap, scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent gumster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A silver 40 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.
Starting point is 00:36:42 From IHeart Podcasts and Best K Studios. This is Rorschach. Murder at City Hall. How could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons. And in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Now, everybody in the chamber is ducked. A shocking public murder. I scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. Those are shots. Get down. A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I still have a weapon. And I could shoot you. and an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was a victim of flatdown. That may or may not have been political. That may have been about sex. Listen to Rorschach, murder at City Hall, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:37:41 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the On Purpose podcast. My latest episode is with Noah Kahn, the singer-songwriter behind the multi-platinum global hit stick season and one of the biggest voices in music today. Noah opens up about the pressure that followed his rapid success, his struggles with mental health and body image, and the fear of starting again after such a defining moment in his career.
Starting point is 00:38:08 It's easy to look at somebody and be like, your life must be so sick. Man, you have no clue. Talking about the mental illness stuff, it used to be this thing that I was ashamed of. I'm just now trying to unwind this idea that I have to be unhealthy physically or in pain in some emotional way in my life to create good music. If someone says that I did a good job, I'm like, yeah, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:38:29 If someone says that I suck, I'm like, I suck. Getting to talk about this is not common for me. Right now, I need it more than ever. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing Along is back. I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Every episode's a little different, but it all involves music and conversation with some of my favorite musicians. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave Grohl, Leveh, Mavis Staples, Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy, really too many to name.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And this season, I've sat down with Alessia Kara, Sarah McLaughlin, John Legend, and more. Check out my new episode with Josh Grobin. You related to the Phantom at that point. Yeah, I was definitely the Phantom in that. That's so funny. So come out each day with me each night, each morning. Say you love me. You know I...
Starting point is 00:39:39 So come hang out with us in the studio and listen to Playing Along on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. They're going to bed. We're going to win some. I'm going to win some. That's it. Period. You know?
Starting point is 00:39:52 Yeah. Man, they too nice. They too nice. We respect each other, man. And we're honest. Yeah. I know. That's why you got to jump on this net.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Like, bro, you're not about to stop me. I'm going to go ahead and get this seven-yard dig on this third and five and you ain't go do nothing about it. You see it's like it's the game of receiver DB, right? It's like it's not only is it a chess match, right? But it's a little bit of I already know. Oh, that's what I'm saying. I anticipate going 10 for 10, right?
Starting point is 00:40:25 Joe anticipate going 10 for 10. But realistically, I just need one more catch. You just need one more stop. I didn't need one more stop. That's really who went to back. You know what I mean? That's how it goes. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:40:39 Oh, man. That's the best part. It's always big. All right, hold up. I can catch no balls and they scored the touchdown. Hold on. Let me give you some nails. Let me give you scenarios, man.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Let me give you scenario. All right. It's an all-out blitz. Oh, zero coverage. No free. zero coverage. Zero coverage. You need three yards.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Oh, this is what I'm telling you. This what I'm telling you. It just depends. This one I'm telling you. It depends on the route. If he runs a go, he got me. If he runs anything under seven yards, I'm not moving.
Starting point is 00:41:16 So I'm standing feet, planting. There's nothing you can do. I'm breaking the cross on the slant. So he double moves me or something like that, I'm hit. And the D-line, y'all better get it. You ain't playing for the goal. I'm playing for the goal.
Starting point is 00:41:27 It's zero coverage. You said zero. I mean, we out blitzing. We out blitzing. Sluggo touch now. Yeah. But listen. But listen, awesome.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Based on what I think about Depot, based on the situation you just gave, I ain't got no time for no devil move. That's what I'm saying. It's all our blitz. It's all our blitz. You know what I want? You know what I would want in that situation?
Starting point is 00:41:47 What you want? I would want it. Just throw it to me on the line. Give me a little smoke. Let me get that ball in my hand. And then. And then, did I get him on the ground? Now Joe got to tackle me.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Chris, step back. Quick, just quick. I'll even come meet the ball just so I can get a little separation from Joe. Who winning? Who win it? Who win it? Ball in your hand. Joe in front of you.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Oh, I can get three. I can get three yards. It really, it's really going to be, it's really going to be how Joe react. It's really going to be on my reaction. That's what I like. It's really going to be matching. It's going to be matching.
Starting point is 00:42:15 It's going to move backwards. We're going to hit helmets. Yeah. Oh, for show. We're going to bang it out. But if Joe, if Joe, if Joe, if Joe, if Joe don't react forward, when I move backwards to catch the screen. Yes. It's it.
Starting point is 00:42:30 We got a situation here. Yeah. I need to get there. This could go either way. Oh, I'm running up. I'm running up. That's why I said. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:42:36 I can't move. Yeah. It depends on. I wouldn't even run a, I wouldn't run a go on on Joe. And also Joe knows it's an all out bliss. He's too smart to give up a sling. You know what I'm saying? If I ran a goal, you don't cut me off.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Come on what I'm saying. So that ain't, it ain't really a good. The zero, the zero, the zero blitz joint is on a defensive. Yeah. We, that's what we eat. Y'all better get there. That's on y'all, D'Bow. You know the ball coming out quick, acting blocked, looking all crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:01 Hey, sometimes you got to, you got to make an executive decision to fake in coverage and get the pick for the hundred, you know? Oh, that's right. Yes. Yes. Fake, you, but you look, but you engaged. This is true statement. We got boss man, 93. $0.975 said,
Starting point is 00:43:22 Debo, what was Troy like in day-to-day practice? He's my favorite player of all time, and I wish he did more podcast and stuff, but I get why he doesn't. I don't know. Troy was Troy. Like, he chilled. Troy, listen, I ain't gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:43:41 That's my guy. Troy's practice was, you know, Troy practiced like practice. Because he was, man, he knew where he needed to be. He might, don't, you ain't got a show. He's a point. He's a point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:56 He gave you that one now, yeah. You know, Troy, Troy was, you know, he was working through a lot of injuries when he played too. So I was a little different. I'm glad to fire off on you. And, you know. Yeah, no question. Damn, teammate.
Starting point is 00:44:08 If you're running the ball, you get hit. Going to see him, teammate. Oh, no question. Bro, listen, if you're running the rock, you get hit. Now, if it's a pass and you come across the middle. They got a different. I'm going to let you fly. But if you coming around that, you get that curl flat and you go to turn up.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Oh, yeah. I'm going to hit you and I'm going to let you go. Yeah, a little third. You know, I used to like contact. A thousand percent. Damn. That's just the way things. Man, coach, come and get this man.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Look, I'm going to get this man. We ain't going on ones on ones, man. I'm going to go in when the two's going. Hey. But I was a type of person, man, I needed to actually get the feel for it. I need to have the actual play. Like, so me looking at it and just going over and over, it did me no good. Like, I'm like, yo, I need to know, even if it's just the first, you know, five yards,
Starting point is 00:44:58 I got to give it everything that, you know, I got. And in that process, if you were in that five yards, you go get some of the contact. Yeah. That's what I would get into that training camp, but then one-on-ones, all that. I love all that smoke. I love all that smoke because that's when you get better. That's when you really compete, man. Yeah, same.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Yeah, yeah, for sure, brother. We got boss man back again. $2.00. It said, and Joe, any advice for my son playing flag football? He is six. You got any advice for him, Joe? Listen, just work on your flag pulling. Listen to your...
Starting point is 00:45:35 Coach Hay. Work on your flag pulling. Listen to your coach. Hopefully you got a good coach. It's all about... What if his coach is trash? It's all about right now. Honestly, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:45:44 It's all about effort. It's all about effort. All about trying your heart. running into the direction of the other team and's pulling their flags. Literally. Debo is not too much going on out there. We running it's seven people. We got two corners, two safeties,
Starting point is 00:45:59 two backers in the Russia. Smooth. Y'all get the rush? You got to be seven yards off the ball. Juice, you ever play flags? Hey, Jarvis, you want to get into the Flag Olympics because Joe Burrow might be the quarterback if he don't come to Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:46:13 Yeah, definitely. I definitely would be up. All I need, give me good, give me a good little A little monk. A little month. All right. Hey, he's still young. You're still moving around?
Starting point is 00:46:24 You still active? Yeah, yeah, I'm still active. I'll be honest, I don't lift as much anymore. I don't lift really, but I play pickleball a lot. I play pickleball. I'll ride with the pickleball. Hey, this pickleball. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:46:40 That's some cardio. That's a good cardio. It's 70-something-year-old man out there. It's the future, bro. Talking crazy. Pickle ball is the future. The future of. athletes transitioning. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:46:51 When it's overwitting, you can't athlete no more. You got to move. You got to move. You just, you just be, you be dinkin, they call it. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That's it. What's dink? You know, I know. Yeah, we got to get, we got to get, we got to get dbo out there, man. Debo don't even know. Yeah, we got to get dibo out there, man. Expandian horizons.
Starting point is 00:47:10 It made me not, this is the thing. The people that I see, I'm judgmental. Yes, I shouldn't be. but the body, not even the people, the body types that I see talking about people, not look like people that need to be talking about their good. That's the beauty of the game. That's the beauty of it.
Starting point is 00:47:29 And they mess around and be nice. And I'm telling you, you go. That'd be the coldest ones. I'm telling you. Listen, if they beat me, we got to fight. See, you want to see, pickle ball is a frilly sport. There's go. If they beat, we got.
Starting point is 00:47:39 There's frilly sport. I'm fighting a 75-year-old man and they're whooping and pickleball. Whooping your ass and pickleball. That's how I feel about the old-eckers and girls. golf. You got come out of our fight and flight, bro.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Hey. You golfing? Man, I got the, I got all of the utensils. I just don't use them. You got all the utensils. I just don't use them. Ain't nothing wrong with that, Jarvis.
Starting point is 00:48:01 I got the, I ain't even got the utensils, bro. Listen, bro, I went out there and I called myself, you know, driving that thing. When I hit that thing, it boom, but it just shot, it shoots right on the right on.
Starting point is 00:48:12 You slicing it. You slicing it. So I figured if I swam harder, it might go straight. That ain't work. Hey, man, I'm pulling my... Damn. Oh.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Oh, you know. You know. Yeah, I said, I don't know how I did it, but I pulled my dealt somehow, like, swinging the damn golf club. Damn. I don't do nothing but... That's what they say... See, you can't get hurt like that playing pickleball. Let the club do the work.
Starting point is 00:48:35 You can't get hurt like that playing. You're not supposed to be swinging the golf club that hard, though. That's what I'm saying. It was somebody that just passed away playing pickleball, bro. Huh? What? Yes. An older man passed away playing pickleball.
Starting point is 00:48:47 I guess he went to hit something. He fell, hit his head, went, was in a coma, and they ended up pulling the pub. I ain't lying to you. That's real talking. Well, I'm still, that's a freak accident.
Starting point is 00:49:02 That's a freak accident. God rest his soul. For sure. Yeah. God rest his soul. I ain't know. That was strong. You ain't,
Starting point is 00:49:08 what? You had to pull up the man. Bro, I'm just telling you. It's dangerous. Nah, no. You got to wear the helmet now. You're telling me. You're a helmet on.
