Starting point is 00:01:10 with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents. Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations. We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation-building. In Carlos de Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Delci Rodriguez. Starting point is 00:01:30 on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back to Debo and Joe. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison, and I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Please make sure you guys like and subscribe. You don't want to miss nothing. How you doing today, Joe?
Starting point is 00:01:52 Debo, another great day, another beautiful day to be on the pod, talking to my good man. Yes, sir, yes, sir, Joe. I'm feeling real good, man. You know, I still got me a little cigar, you know, still. I see you still ringed up. I'm still talking with my hands, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:02:08 We don't play till Monday, so we get an extra day. This is what I'm doing on my extra day, you know what I'm saying? I'm taking this celebrating a little bit longer, you know, enjoying myself, you know? So that's what you do. That's what you do when you went, when you get, when you get hats and T-shirts. Victory Tuesday, now, baby, you know what I'm saying? had some t-shirts. That's what it goes, oh, man, I got, I have my hat for you.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I have my hat for you next time we get back on. Okay, okay. I have my hat for y'all next time I get back on here. Oh, but, uh, I'm coming to the game, too. I'm gonna be there Monday. Okay, okay. Let's go. I'm in a bill.
Starting point is 00:02:43 In matter of fact, why you go be there, you know what else? We're going to have two sets, two tickets to the playoff game. See, as we go and slap around the Houston, Texans. But this is what I want you all to understand is that. You know, when you're in a position that we're in, you get a lot of hate. And, you know, when you're kings of the north, yes, you don't listen to the peasants, you know, when you are your majesty, Joseph Waterhaden, the third. Yes, full government.
Starting point is 00:03:25 And I am, your majesty, James Henry Harrison, Come on. That sounds like, that sounds like you need a crowd. You don't, you don't listen to the opinions of peasants such as this gentleman, butter. Butter has something to say, man. Butter has something to say, man. Look at that. We got the clip.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Look at it. Look at it. Hey, what that boy name is over there, he always running to my water. Butter. Hey, butter. What you are in, butter? Look here, man. If you ain't come here to talk still a football, if you come here to complain and do all that,
Starting point is 00:03:56 look here, baby. It's a thin lie. Between love and baby. I really believe that I think that Ravens is one of the few birds that you can shoot all year ago. I could be wrong, but when you are still a, that's all we do. We hungry. I watched brothers this morning. I know he was sick.
Starting point is 00:04:15 His reaction, he didn't even say anything. He said nothing. Hey, buddy, you don't need to say nothing, baby. Okay. Get it, listen, listen, listen, listen. Listen, listen. Listen, listen. Listen, listen, listen.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Listen, me. Get it out why you can. Why you can't, listen, I don't can't, you got one more week. Y'all got one more week, bro. I'm not even, we're not even about to go on vacation yet. We can wait for y'all. We'll wait for your news, and then we go gas up the pace and come pick y'all up. Texas, let's get the state, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Let's not even play with them. You see, because I can't, I can't get, I ain't got time to hear this all, you don't say, all the playoffs in the season. I ain't got trying to hear all this. So, see, T. Strong, let's lock it in. Somebody get me sketched So I got to talk the sketch so he can ride the troops I got the game plan
Starting point is 00:05:06 I never did go do they go hand the ball off They go through a screen They go throw that join up the seat to the tiny end They go they can come back They ain't going to use decay right They ain't go use decay as a decoy Throw that bit up to Austin for the deep ball I tell you
Starting point is 00:05:24 Texas I can't listen I ain't got the capacity It did with this right here Gremont Cookies! Yeah Y'all didn't put out there at a coat or something I know that I know them like the back of my hand bro I locked for you before I lot to you
Starting point is 00:05:41 Dibbo and Joey y'all know damn well you should not be in that playoff spot y'all knew that All right wait till next year wait till next year Make sure you're here next year Grow on Cookin'it's it because of things that we got to do when the awesome are about to be astronomical
Starting point is 00:06:02 Yep In Cancun. Yo. Yo, I ain't go, listen, listen, I ain't go lie to you, Joe. I was actually kind of, I was actually kind of worried about him because I, like you, I saw the video and I didn't see no reaction, you know. And I ain't want him, you know, to go and do nothing foolish in the time that, you know, he was, he was grieving and mourning. Yes, yes, yes. over the loss of his football team, you know what I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:06:35 for a game that he already knew the ratbirds was go lose. He knew the result, but I love his passion. Man, look here, man. I just got tired of hearing and seeing, you know, he had all this little disciples, little ratbird fans running over to my page, you know, putting things on there, running their mouth being real, Disrespectful. And when you're disrespectful, this is what you get.
Starting point is 00:07:05 You get taught respect. You get dealt with. Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, what is Lamar's record now against the Pittsburgh Steelers? I mean, it's not too successful. What is it? What is it, three in Shab now? Three and Nate, something like that. That's the regular season.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Who? He got an ex-win. Listen, that's last year we're talking about right now. You understand? But here to go to. crazy thing, man. What's a crazy thing? How of a sudden he doesn't turn it to like,
Starting point is 00:07:35 he's sounding like he a Houston Texan fan right now? Let me tell you, look, Dibo, he's a legitimate, that's the thing. He's a legit Ravens fan, and that's why I rock with him. He ain't a Ravens fan, he is still a hater, and it's a bunch of them out here. The enemy and my enemy is my friend. Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Yes. Yes. We lose, Joe. We lose. I'm hoping don't nobody win the show. Don't nobody else win. I'm hoping they have a tie for the next nine months straight while the season rolling around and they got to stop and start over.
Starting point is 00:08:06 For sure. But yes, yes, yes. But if the rat birds was in it, you wouldn't want them to lose? It ain't about wanting them to lose. I know they go lose. They is what they is. They always have been and they always will be. The big games come and they drop a knee.
Starting point is 00:08:26 They cop a squat, lay an egg. It's been years and years. He knows this. Why is he sitting here doing this? And then you got some unknown, random NFL exec talking about T.J., Cam, and Rogers, they just about shot. Anonymous exec told the athletic, he said, Rogers at 42, Cam Hayward at 36, and T.J. Harley, hardly making plays except when the ball lands in his belly like he did Sunday. these three guys are just about shot. I think Houston chokes them out.
Starting point is 00:09:04 That's a hater. That's a hater. Put your name on it, NFL exact. Anonymous, bro. Anonymous. That's what anonymous people do. They're just going to say, you can say whatever,
Starting point is 00:09:14 because then you can hide behind anonymous. I just threw it out there. You're going to tell me, Cam Hayward at 36, I don't care what you're talking about. He looked like the best he tackled in the league. He looked like he was 26 years old. Prime Cam.
Starting point is 00:09:27 What are we talking about? about. You know what I'm saying? T.J. came back. Pick. You know what I'm saying? He's got sacks. He's got a punctured lungs still out there hooping. Running plays down. That's a hater in my eyes. A.Raw throwing them dots. That's a hater in my eyes, Debo. It's true. Dude, it's a 100% hater. That's all it is. That's all it's ever go be. Now, look here, I played the game. You played the game. We know. Yes. Father time catches up to all of us. Nobody can be undeniable. Aaron and Cam, of course, they're getting close to the end.
Starting point is 00:10:02 And yes, they're getting older. But as you get older, you get wiser into the season. You realize what you need to do to make sure that that end of the season, you're feeling as fresh as you do at the beginning of the season. So that your body is right. You reload each week. And that's what you're seeing right now with Aaron Rogers and Cam. the more time Aaron Rogers gets to teach and build rapport with that offense and his receivers,
Starting point is 00:10:34 the better they are getting. They spend time at this man's house doing film study on the off day, which is the game. That's the most time I've ever seen. Okay. And a couple other times during the week that they are there after practice getting it together. Mm-hmm. You think Cam is not reload. You know cams reloading.
Starting point is 00:10:58 That dude takes everything. Every week trying to make sure and making sure he's doing it. You see it with the performance. He's reloading. You see that? Ravens down. Down goes, down goes Ravens. Dude, when I play, when I play, bro, I did my recovery for my body, especially.
Starting point is 00:11:22 It doubled, triple. Like, hell, on a normal week, when the season would first start, dude, I see my chiropractor maybe once or twice a week. You know, I'm a doctor twice. Oh. Get a massage twice, acupuncture, once a week, and then, you know, dry needle and whatever I needed it. Yeah. When I got into the later seasons, that would increase, especially as I got older. My last year, 2017, well, 2016, that's the last year I really played and I didn't really play in 17.
Starting point is 00:11:57 But dude, I was seeing my chiropractor three times a week. I was seeing my doctor four times a week. Then I had massage four days a week, acupuncture twice a week and dry needling every week. I was getting treatment five out of six days sometimes during the week. And some days I was getting treatment as I was leading. the hotel to go to the game. Yeah. So whoever, you have to.
Starting point is 00:12:26 So whoever this is, like, that's saying this, yo, old and slow, all that other stuff, yo, you're tripping, bro. That's hate. That's hate. And you know what's so crazy is, would let me know what was hate. He's talking about the choke you out. That's hate, choke you out. And y'all want to talk about TJ.
Starting point is 00:12:49 T.J. ain't got nothing left. Dude, that's crazy. Again, people, he don't have the numbers. I see that. But what you don't realize is that he is impacting the game just by being on the field. When you go back, dude, and you look at his numbers. Like, he was hurting, what, 22? He got hurting 22. 23, he came back and did it. 24, he was still doing it. Now, in 24, he was getting double-team. I think pro football focus had it at like 14%, right? Yeah. But they added a new stat that was there, and it was called a chip rate or something like that. He was being chipped at the third highest percentage in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:13:34 And with that happening, he still came away with 11.5. Now, you forward to this year, early in the year, they had him at a 66% double team rate. Okay? And when you do that, it allows your other rushers one-on-one opportunities to go in there and make the plays. Yes. So you can say all that you want to say, all you got to do is look and see how much more effort they've been putting into trying to stop one man. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:14:01 The tape don't lie. Coach, I'm hating. See, that's all it is, Debo. And I just am not a fan of the, when NFL execs, they hide behind. If you're an NFL executive and you're going to put something out there, this is like... Right. I want to be anonymous. I want to put it out there.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I want to put my name on it. Put your name on it. That's probably why you shouldn't even be an exec. There, because you're weak. You don't... Yeah, I don't get it. I don't like that. Weirdos.
Starting point is 00:14:28 NFL exec. If that's the case, you want to put your name on it, don't say nothing. Mm-hmm. I understand. Hell, Butter put his name on all this. That's what I love, and that's why he's getting all the smoke. He'll get all this. smoke.
Starting point is 00:14:44 All the smoke. Yo, I ain't gonna like you, though. I guess, I feel I feel so good, you know? It's just I, man,
Starting point is 00:14:59 come on, whoa, you know what it is? It's that playoff vibes. Is that what it is, right? That's exactly what it is. And we're about to call. Yes, brother. Yes. It's that.
Starting point is 00:15:09 We be in the building. I'm going to do the same. Debo, I ain't going to. a lot to you. I'm getting tired of you. You keep on giving stuff away and I'm normally the one of them to get stuff. I'm going to give away two tickets to the game to the playoff game on the moment. Okay. So we got three sets of two tickets. We got three sets of two tickets that's going to be jumping. So it's going to be jumping. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I need to go ahead and get involved. I need to go ahead. Listen, you all know what you all, y'all know what you got to do, man.
Starting point is 00:15:36 You know what you got to do. Follow Joe, myself, Devo and Joe. Debo and Joe. We will put that up probably tomorrow, well, Friday and let you, or sometime later during the show and let y'all know exactly where to go. I believe you go to the Debo and Joe Instagram. You can sign up there.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Make sure you get all the information in there you need so you can be one of the lucky three to go see us get our first playoff win. Come on, man. 2016. On top of that, they are like, yo, let's put this on. Monday night. You know why they put this on Monday
Starting point is 00:16:13 night, Joe. Because you know, because that's, we don't, we don't, we do very well on Monday nights. We do very well on Monday night. And now for me to sit here and I'm like, yo, the NFL, this is, they want to see us win. They want us to succeed, huh? They want us to succeed, huh? Football at home, at home where we are 23 game winning streak strong, Joe.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Uh-huh. Joe, like I told you before, Joe, the last time we lost the game on Monday night at home, Joe, you was sitting down shitting in your diapers, man. You know? How long ago was it? 1991. Oh, my goodness. I was putting it on myself.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Yes, you was, Joe. Listen. Oh, you. No, that's wicked. Oh, yeah. I was almost a grown man in 91. How old were you in 91? I was all, I had three kids.
Starting point is 00:17:21 No, you did not have three kids in 91, Debo. I was, I'm just trying to get you to understand. I had a lot of, I had a lot more responsibilities than you. No, for sure. I was too. I was trying to get, I was just on both feet. I was trying to figure it out. And, you know, it's, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:17:40 let's get it though. That's all. You know, when Coach T on the Monday night, when are we going to be in the building? It got to get turned. Yeah, listen, man. It's the reason they called me Mr. Monday night, man. That was my tag.
Starting point is 00:17:52 That's why they called me Mr. Monday night, because they know at home, when the lights is on, it's Monday night. They ain't even called me, Dibault. They said, that's, he said, it's Mr. Monday night. That's all they said. No, you got a hoot.
Starting point is 00:18:08 They lay it with it. The best nicknames you get is the ones you get from everybody else. I ain't never have one nickname that I made up, you feel? You ain't give yourself that nickname. You know? You earned that. I earned it, man. You know what, man, it's really surprising to see that this is what the NFL wants.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Man, they want us to go out here and win this. I can see because they put this there. You know, they put this there. 23 straight, baby. They want to see 24. We're going to keep... Hold up. I'm tripping.
Starting point is 00:18:42 I'm tripping. They could be hating. They could be hoping that this is the downfall. Debo, don't do that. Don't listen. This is what they hope. I want to let them know that they ain't putting us on there because they like us. I already know.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Roger hate to steal us. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's time. And maybe... Nope. This is an opportunity they think that they have to go ahead and be like, well, we're going to go and put them on time. No.
Starting point is 00:19:17 No, no. They're praying for our downfall so they can see the record broken. So that they can see that the NFL players was showing. Debo, you need to use. No, you go get to see history made again. We need to use the reverse psychology, Dibbo. If that's the case, they tried to put us on the last game last night to not make the playoffs. Got them out the way.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Get out of our business. They thought, oh, they got them all. Derek Henry, they're going to run over you the whole game. Y'all are going to lose. Got two for a loop. Okay? And now, Houston, Texas, they got the craziest defense. Now, no disrespect.
Starting point is 00:19:57 That's what I'm not going to do on this cast. It's respect that D-line. So what we need to do is head swivel. You know what I'm saying? We're going to come in there with respect. We're going to get to that, man. We're going to get it. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Right. You know what they're doing? They're trying to play the ears against the middle. No, no. We're going to do them again. We're going to show them again. We're going to show them again in front of everybody. And you know what, when I think about it.
Starting point is 00:20:18 So, think, you don't know. Go back. I'm going to go back. I'm going to go back. I'm going to tell a little story. So when I was getting fine, when we was all getting fined over there in 2019, 2009, when they started that player initiative thing, that safety thing, they said it was the safety thing. A new year doesn't mean erasing who you were.
Starting point is 00:20:36 It means audits. honoring what you've survived and choosing how you want to grow. It means giving ourselves permission to feel what we've been holding and knowing that it's okay to ask for help. I'm Mike Dolorotcha, host of sacred lessons. This podcast is a space for men to talk openly about mental health, grief, relationships, and the patterns we inherit, but don't have to repeat. Here, we slow down.

We talk about all the ways to keep your body in mind, inside and out, healthy. We human beings, all we want is connection. We just want to connect with each other. Health stuff is about learning, laughing, and feeling a little less alone. Listen on the I-Heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, I'm Jorge Ramos. This week, on the moment, we take a look at Venezuela's on certain future in a conversation with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents. Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations.
Starting point is 00:22:45 We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation building. In Carlos D.Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Del Cid Rodriguez. Listen to the moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. We were playing the game. And early in the game, dude, we had got it. like files called that wasn't files like hits that wasn't you know wasn't illegal hits okay so it was like right after like a commercial break or something i don't remember what it was going on but one of the
Starting point is 00:23:20 players that was playing for us i'm not going to say who it is okay he's on a sideline and you know how the refs stand on the sideline over there so the ref is standing there so he called a ref he was like yo man come on man that wasn't a foul the ref turns in the says, we're told to call everything that's even questionable on the Stillers. And he realized he said the quiet part out loud and just walked away. It was crazy. And he was like, whoa, whoa, hey, what, what? And he just walked away.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Yes, you know, they're humans. I hope that's not the case. We haven't been doing anything crazy on defense this year. So they don't know. No, no, I'm just saying. I'm just trying to get you to understand. understand the same man in a position that was starting at an instanti trying to make a, trying to make a example, trying to make me to post a board for a later,
Starting point is 00:24:15 no, yeah, hits and everything else. You are right? You are the same person in position right now that made this game where it's at. You all right. Okay. All right. You all right? Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:26 We're going to keep an eye out. Definitely got to keep an eye out. We make sure that Houston don't try to, you know what I'm saying? I ain't worried about Houston, man. I ain't worried. We'll get to that, man. That'll be what it's going to be, man. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:24:39 You know, we do what need to do. It's go, it's going to pan itself out. I ain't worried about it, man. We're where we need to be. We're at where we need to be. And all these other people that are sitting on the sideline, wishing and hoping and praying on the downfall and want us to go to Cancun with them and all that.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Y'all going to have to wait. Y'all going to have to wait. Season ain't over with. Yeah. We get done in San Francisco. See, look, whole time, we got people. Look, buddy, he worried about us. He's done.
Starting point is 00:25:06 delaying his flight. Go to Cancun. What's you sitting at the career? Yeah. What's waiting for? You're off. You can go chill. You could be watching and sad
Starting point is 00:25:15 every time we win from some good weather. Mm-hmm. You know? You know? Not a bad place to watch playoff games in Cancun. Not going on.
Starting point is 00:25:23 And now you think about, they're talking about they're going to do something astronomical in the off season, all this. I don't know, is your coach still go even want to coach there after
Starting point is 00:25:31 which all done did doing? Is you go even have Lamar. Lamar is a hard, hard cap hit. come next year. Oh, but see, Deepa, I hate what you don't. So that's your astronomical may be that you lose you. When we start talking about Debo, don't, you funny, don't say cap hit when we talk about Lamar Jackson.
Starting point is 00:25:51 75, 25%, that's all irrelevant. We could change that number, make it guarantee, make it a sign of bonus, get that man his money now. Like, that still go hit the cap. Oh, my God. What they go do? What they go do? It's going to be fine.
Starting point is 00:26:06 They need help over there. Them boys can't sack nobody to say their life. Butter said himself, he could drop down there and go out there and get one. No, for sure. But the offensive players, they're not bad. I'm not rude for them. I hope, Debo, I hope they don't figure it out. I hope they get rid of John Harbow and give them to the land.
Starting point is 00:26:27 I'd be happy. I'd be geeked. Set him free. Set him free. Let him fly. Let him have his way. Then they will be, then they'll be really bad. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:26:36 that won't be good. Yeah, yeah. Speaking of setting free, the Browns GM, Andrew Barry, I guess y'all boys, after y'all fired, Stefanski,
Starting point is 00:26:47 let old Stefanski go. Barry said, when I asked about who is starting quarterback would be, he said, we're going to do, we're going to do our work
Starting point is 00:26:57 on the quarterback market. It is too important a position and it's something that has to be solidified. I can't sit here and tell you today rather to, starter in 2026 is internal or external, something that we're going to work through over the next
Starting point is 00:27:12 several weeks. Quite honestly, the new coach will also have a lot of input into that as well. How do you feel about him not saying Shador is the starter? I respect it. As a GM, at least he came out and said something. The one thing I do like is my man, Andrew Barry, he likes Shador Sanders. He really wanted him to be there. You can see, like, even in the preseason when he talks to him, he wants Shador to be successful,
Starting point is 00:27:41 and I think that he knows Shador can be successful. So I'm excited about that. Having the new coach that comes in, I want him to also be in on, in on Shador and on when he was looking for, we don't know that he's the main thing. So you always have your eyes open. You're always trying to figure out if you can get the franchise. If Joe Burroughs looking crazy over there, we can get a franchise quarterback in Cleveland, that would be great.
Starting point is 00:28:05 having Deshawn Watson in the locker room that he's guaranteed. He's making $46 million a year next year fully guaranteed. This is going to be his last year on this guaranteed money. Have him, you have Shador, you have Dillon Gabriel. You have two quarterbacks that are making peanuts that are on their rookie contracts that are going to be there. I think Shadour is going to be the backup or the starter. But having Watkins there that you're paying $46 million regardless.
Starting point is 00:28:30 You're not going to get rid of him. You can't trade him. He's been injured. Now he's had a whole offseason. to get healthy. This is going to be his last year there. You have Shador. So now the quarterback position, I think, is more filled. When you're looking at him always trying to figure out the next, what's the best thing? It's not answered yet. So him saying this is a thousand percent. I love it. But I do like that. I know that he likes Shador and the next quarterback, I mean,
Starting point is 00:28:54 the next coach that comes in needs to be a Shador fan and kind of believe in him and want to be able to work with him and not be like, no, I'm, I'm out. I'm out. So I think that him saying that is good. With Andrew Barry, I like him as a GM because I think his last draft class was good. The Brown's team isn't a bad team overall. Defense, solid.
Starting point is 00:29:17 We have some players like Devin Bush. You know what I'm saying? We need to resign him. Us getting Tyson Campbell in the trade for Newsom. I love Newsom, that's my man. Tyson Gamble's a baller. That was a great pick. We have Denzel Ward. We have Ebersen Griffin coming back. He got
Starting point is 00:29:32 hurt early on in the in the season before the year started. So we got a lot of great defensive players. We need to re-sign some offense alignment. We need to figure out what's going on with my good man, Hall of Famer, Joe Pantoneo, and then Wyatt Teller, we need to figure out with him. So offensive line, receivers, bond is good.
Starting point is 00:29:52 You know what I'm saying? So we need that. And then looking at our draft picks, we have 10 draft picks, two in the first round. We need to get offensive line and wide receiver. You know what I'm saying? If it doesn't work out, we can go get quarter picks. quarterback later on figure something next year because I think this year with those three that we have
Starting point is 00:30:09 we look solid. So I like Andrew Barry. I think we have a lot of picks. We got a lot of stuff that we can work on. And I think with him going into the draft and being able to finagle the salary cap, he's a good way in of giving dudes guaranteed money. A lot of restructures are going to need to be done to the people that are going to be able to stay there so we can get somebody else. But I think he's a good GM. I think he's going to be able to get talent there. And I think that's going to help us out, bro. Yeah, yeah. I don't, I don't disagree with it, you know, what he said, you know, especially because I don't, I don't think he did, you know, anything that would have solidified his position as being the starting quarterback, especially when you look at it comparatively to, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:50 what the quarterbacks, you know, did that he took over for. So I'm not upset with it. I'm cool with it. He's not making a predetermined decision. And like you said, they got a lot of money over there in the quarterback room and it's on a person I only got a one deal you one deal one year deal left so my thing is though what if they go they give him the chance he win it and now he go out there watch he go out there and he actually ball out now do you pay again no okay I mean I I I thought four thousand he got He got, he got, he got, he got 35, he got 35, 40 touchdown, five, six picks. This one I'm telling you, it's still, it's not, it's not going to be another 230.
Starting point is 00:31:45 You know what I'm saying? Like, we're going to have to definitely give me something because we, I don't know, it's going to be, it's not going to be another crazy astronomical deal like that if he goes and balls out, knowing. You're saying you owe back pay? Oh, for show. For sure. I'm the Browns.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I get you two 30 to the good. And I didn't get, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, the. The ROI is not looking like what it's supposed to be. No question. You know what I'm saying? So that's a heck no. Yeah. Speaking of that, I guess the quarterback over there at Texas Techs,
Starting point is 00:32:17 I guess he signed reportedly a $5 million deal with the Red Raiders in the transfer portal. They said, Washer Door is set to make $4.6 million across his rookie deal. You find a problem with that? I don't find a problem. with fit. I think if you go, if they can pay them that money, I can't be mad at the young boy being able to make that money. You know what I'm saying? Like the NFL, they started to change like the rookie, the rookie scales. If you were the first round pick, the federal won overall, my man,
Starting point is 00:32:53 Ward is making four years, 48 million, fully guaranteed. You know what I'm saying? $12 million a year coming out of college. So the number one, if you're that guy and your thing is you want to get to the league, Ward is making $12 million a year, four years fully guaranteed. And if you want to be that real guy, your job is to get that second contract. Like, you're going to be in college making that, it's great three for 15 at the most. Not saying that's not no money. But when we're saying if you want to be a professional and this is what you're going to do for your livelihood, we got Tua made a five-year, $230 million contract.
Starting point is 00:33:27 You know what I'm saying? So he got 167 guarantee. So when we're talking about making it to the league switching, if you're. If you can make that in college, make it. I'm not, I can't be mad at you at all. Do it. But long term, if you want to be great, like, don't just, like, if you're in a comfortable position where they're giving you $4 million a year, I don't know if you want to switch
Starting point is 00:33:45 your whole team and do that stuff because when you get to leave, you get comfortable, you start. You want to be the best you can be. Obviously, optimize making your money. But getting, being in this position where you're making a good amount of money, comfortable, balling, and then, like, hopping around, is it really worth it? So making the money, I'm never against them making as much money as they can. But just my picture is when you're doing it in college hopping around, I understand it's bread.
Starting point is 00:34:11 When you get to the league, you're going to get your rookie deal. You're trying to, when you're trying to be the best you can be, like, it's, I don't even know how to really explain. Like, what is enough? Like, you're going to be good regardless. I ain't tripping, bro. Being in the situation. The door was in a position that he was in last year or whatever it was in Colorado, okay? I ain't mad
Starting point is 00:34:32 and nobody making money I ain't mad I ain't tricking on the quarterback having more money I'm not tricking on none of that I would do the same thing
Starting point is 00:34:41 Oh Cedora got to do the same thing when he was in Colorado If you want to look at something Look at the NFL And the collecting bargaining agreement That the NFLPA puts in place And see
Starting point is 00:34:54 why they allow What they allow Like You are a guy like this right here and you're getting that money like what's go motivate me to go to the next level if I know I ain't going to be the first pick on the first day like yeah I'm going to stay in college a little longer I could get this bread you know what I'm saying like you may or we may miss out on the opportunity as an NFL on a player that could have came and did something great but
Starting point is 00:35:27 say they end up staying too long get hurt whatever it may be and you know, not get that opportunity to come in at full speed because they're like, yo, I'm going to be able to make more sitting right here than I am going and signing a, you know, a rookie deal as a third, you know, third, fourth round pick. Uh-huh. No, I, I hear you, a thousand percent. It's just to, like, are they, I mean, if you, if you, if your NFL is making so much paper right now, Drew, you've got to buy up almost $1,000
Starting point is 00:35:57 in subscriptions to see every NFL game this year. Yeah, for sure. They're streaming. They got every service like thought of that it's a game here, a game there. And they're selling out to the highest bidder. Whoever get the highest, you get this. If you want the whole lump sum, it's $50 billion.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Ain't nobody got it. So they keep taking a B from here, a couple Bs from there, some bees from here, some bees from there. Next thing you know, they probably got 15, 20 Bs sitting there every year. You know? So. It's the same. Like, when you look at it, too, when you look at college football,
Starting point is 00:36:30 When you look at these players, like, how many dudes on that team are making this much money? You got probably two, like, a quarterback is making $5 million. But, like, that's on the NFL team. You got one dude making, quarterbacks making $50 million. Right, but they also have to stay under a cap. Yeah. That's the NFL bargains with the collective bargaining agreement, with the CBA, with the NFLPA. Like, the NFLPA need to fight for more.
Starting point is 00:36:53 Like, baseball has, I don't know, 50 billion games, dude. And the NFL, like, still make. They don't make, yes, they're on cap. And the NFL, like, still, like, they got 100 games, basketball, got 90-something games. Like, dude, and we, the NFL supposedly still makes more than any two of those combined. Like, you're telling me you ain't got no money to spread? No, no, no, for sure. But then that goes to the only two.
Starting point is 00:37:18 The NFLPA is fell into players. They have been. They are. Especially for the last 10, 12 years, whatever that 15-year time frame is, since D. Smith got in place and what. was out. Like, they need to get this together before this next CBA or else it's not going to look good as far as the potential of getting, you know, players to come out at the opportune time
Starting point is 00:37:42 because it ain't no rules over there right now, college football, man. You got some roster's got 20, 25 million on the board. And this is for a university that, what, ain't they tax free or sir, tax exempt or something? Like, I don't know what's going on. Oh, no, man. The NFL got a whole bunch of money. they sit in there holding on to that they could they could spread a lot a lot more out and be able to give these guys better pay especially like they make it money hand over fist you know
Starting point is 00:38:11 for show for show now let's hit uh let's hit uh over there with the ravens man you think you think you think john hardball he come back because this is going to be his opportunity this could be his choice i don't think they fire him i don't see them ever firing him especially no What do you think? I think he got two years left on his deal, and I don't think they should fire him. I think that would be a bad idea. Just his long, him not being able to win the big game at the end, you know what I'm saying? Like, obviously you want to win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Every year teams come into the lead, they want to win the Super Bowl. But who are you going to get for him? Like, I like what he's been doing there, and I don't think that they have really, I mean, him and Lamar Jackson, I think Lamar Jackson, if he still wants them there too, I don't see them being LaVreal, like, I don't see them not getting along. So I think that they'll be cool. Yeah, I don't think you're going to where.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I don't think they should move anywhere either. I mean, you was right there. You just had to face us at the end. And I mean, that's the donnie task for anybody to have to deal with, you know, especially the ratbirds, you know. And end of the day, bro, we laughing at them so much. but they were a missed 44-yard field-goat attempt from being in the joint. So it's like...
Starting point is 00:39:34 Joe, I don't care about that. I told you already. I told you, you seen God is a still a fan, man. And I told you that you seen the water spread off. Did you see the John 316 in the end zone? Went off. You understand? Y'all believe that it...
Starting point is 00:39:54 Listen, I'm just telling you, that's what I'm feeling in my heart. So I'm feeling in my heart, man. Now that boy, too, over there, he said he opened to a fresh start. He said it would be dope. He said, I would be good with it. That would be dope. I would be good with it, he said. Yo.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Yes. He said that. He said that to people. Like, that would be dope. That would be, a fresh start would be dope. Yes, of course he was going to say that. Debo, what you think? Yes, it would be dope.
Starting point is 00:40:22 You just got benched from your squad. You know what I'm saying? They still only, money though. You know wherever you go, whatever what happens, you're going to get guaranteed. You got bread owed to you. No matter what, 67. So you got like 50 this year and 17 next, no matter what. So fresh start. Going somewhere
Starting point is 00:40:40 wherever I go. I'm going to get this dough. So yes, I'm saying the same exact thing. And I was benched here. But who's going to take it? I don't know. But if I'm too, I'm saying the same damn thing. First start, yep. Wherever y'all want, whatever, wherever. Whatever. wherever, wherever. And I'm going wherever. He wants to be a starter,
Starting point is 00:40:59 whatever. But if he goes to a team that already has a quarterback, you're on a bench making your bread until they figure it out. So if I'm Tua, I'm saying exactly what he said. Yep, I'm down for a fresh start. Y'all keep me here. What are you going to do? My stuff is guaranteed. I got 67
Starting point is 00:41:15 coming to me. They must have mismanaged him. For sure. Like, you got to, like, right now he has all the cards. Tua sitting there like, you said, who's going to take him? I don't know. That's on the Dolphins to find out. They got to figure out somebody to take me for this breed.
Starting point is 00:41:29 You really believe they mismanaging? No, mismanage him? No. I think they, I think if you're going to have... Think he could have been better than what he was, is what you're saying. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Okay. I'm just checking out of him.
Starting point is 00:41:42 No, no, no, no. I'm saying putting him in the position to where he's sitting there with $67 million and he can do whatever he wants, that's where I'm saying, that's mismanage. They mismanaged. Yeah, I got to. I got you now. Okay. On that part.
Starting point is 00:41:57 That's what I'm saying. I see what we did. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Boom. Two is up. So that's mismanaged.
Starting point is 00:42:02 However you want to look at it. He did good for them. They got the best out of him. But now he's sitting there 0.67 million. Mis-managed. Ain't nobody picking that up. Come on, brother. Ain't nobody picking that up.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Y'all might as well go on head and get ready to add that to the cap. The dead money. Y'all stuck, man. This, this worse than marriage. You know what I'm saying? All stuck. Hey, ain't there's no worse than that, baby. Look here.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Come on. Y'all go on here. You got to hold on to that boy. I don't know if it's the starter or not, but he'll have to be there because I just can't let you go away and just let you go. That's what I said. Hey, when they say it's cheaper to keeper, hey, this is one opportunity. Come on, man. And this is the part two.
Starting point is 00:42:48 If he's going out there and working hard, doing his job, not being an irritating person, not trying to mess up the locker room, not trying to be a problem. A new year doesn't mean erasing who you were. It means honoring what you've survived and choosing how you want to grow. Starting point is 00:44:56 This week, on the moment, we take a look at Venezuela's uncertain future in a conversation with two people who have directly advised U.S. presidents. Juan Gonzalez, during the Obama and Biden administrations. We're really good at invading countries. We're very bad at nation building. In Carlos de Rosillo, during Trump's, two terms. I can guarantee you that nobody in the Trump administration likes Del Cirodi. Listen to the moment with Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos
Starting point is 00:45:21 on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know what I'm saying? Then, you know, keep him there. He's doing what he's got to do. But like Deshaun Watson, he's there. He's not being a problem. He's trying to get better.
Starting point is 00:45:33 He hurt himself. You know what I'm saying? Oh, the bread. He's not a lot of... Yeah, but why would you say that would be dope if they let me go? A fresh start would be great. Like, you're saying, oh, I don't want to be here.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Like, because they benched you, that's what they come down to. They said in the last three games. Because they benched them. And then I first start, because obviously right now, I was a starter. I guess, you know what? I wasn't thinking about the guarantee. Yeah, I'm going to say what I want to.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Debo. Yeah, I need a fresh start for sure. Debo, no matter what. So now it was a matter what. And I could double up if I get you to hold on. See, I'm going to get you to hold on to me to the season start doing. Then I'm going to try and double up after. You know?
Starting point is 00:46:10 Yeah. And then your boy over there, I don't know why to hear a coach still there, man. I listen to this press conference. I just get confused. Yeah, I think he's... Like, maybe that's the first start of need because I was listening to him, I don't know what he'd be talking about.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Like, huh? He goes from one subject to the next and I don't know what he'd be talking about. Like, it don't be a break. It's like I was brushing my teeth ate salad last night to the store. What? It's real, it's a little jumpy, man.
Starting point is 00:46:40 It's a little jumpy. A little jumpy, a little all over the place. Yo. Do you coach like that? He never coached me. He was the offense. He was the wide receiver coach when I was in Cleveland. So I ain't never had.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Who was your receivers? How was they performing? Was they confused? Man, we had, that was when John Johnny was out there, the quarterback. We had Miles Austin. It was a little, I mean, yeah, it was a little confusing. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Now look, look. That's my man, Miles. It might have been, yeah. Come on. Come on. You got Russ and though. Russ got something out there Pop that up. Can y'all throw that up there?
Starting point is 00:47:19 Let's see what Russ said, man. Russ got something on his heart? Russ got, well, he ended up, I guess, saying, he said the Giants, he said, not the Giants fought. They didn't know because I didn't tell him. I didn't tell anyone because of the circumstances. I just had to play through it and try and go out there and ball. Thought we were going to win that wild crazy game.
Starting point is 00:47:42 I guess he's referring to a game that he went out there. and played with a grade two and didn't and didn't tell anybody how you how you feel about that Joe about him saying that or or how do you feel about a guy doing that how do you feel debo so for me yes I so the big thing they're trying to get into though is they're talking about you know the giants did something wrong he's like no they didn't do nothing wrong because I didn't tell him about it okay and I think that's cool because the Giants didn't know and he just said they didn't no, so there's no rules or anything broke there. And I don't think what the NFL understands is that depending on your circumstance,
Starting point is 00:48:29 as he said, you may or may not, you know, try and battle through it and not tell no one. Because as sometimes in the situations where you have the option to not play and not playing is better. for you because right now the position you're in versus you plain hurt and not telling anyone you know it could cause your situation to change because they're thinking you're a hundred but you're not so they're judging you without a curve and now like maybe that puts you in jeopardy
Starting point is 00:49:14 later you know what I'm saying but if you're in a position that you can still tell them I'm hurt and go play. Like, yeah, go ahead and do it because you're secure at whatever position that is. I know when I played, I tried to keep any injury nagging little injury thing that would, anything that would cause me to be on the injury report. Like, I don't care what it is. I'm not missing practice because I don't want the opposite opponent knowing, like,
Starting point is 00:49:47 I got this issue and them trying to go after it. So for any reason, like, I don't care what it is. I'm trying to practice. I don't want to go on the report as did not practice, blah, blah, blah, because of this injury and that injury. So my injury that I have does not totally stop me from being able to practice. I'm not telling you. Yeah. I'm going to take care of it.
Starting point is 00:50:11 I'm going to get it treated. I'm going to do all that. But I ain't letting you. What are you icing for, recovery? Yeah. you know? No, no, for sure. I feel this one.
Starting point is 00:50:24 I think something, when I was looking at it, was he, you think he's trying to protect, is he trying to just not let the team know that he has an injury because he's just going to handle it and he's going to still go out there and perform? I think this ended up having to come out because the Giants, I guess, somehow the NFL found out that this has happened.
Starting point is 00:50:44 So he had to publicly basically come out and be like, no, they didn't do anything illegal. go they didn't know. Okay, okay. I didn't tell them. Okay. So that's how all this ended up, you know, coming out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Yeah. I think so, like you said, it's different situations. I know some players, like, depending on their contract status. Like, they made to be like, man, look, if I let them know that I'm hurt, they might not play me. They try to think I'm hurting. I might get waived. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:51:11 Like, no, I'm going to ham-this myself. I'm going to go out there. I'm perfectly fine. And chance it to be out there like, no, I'm going to go out to join. And if they know, if they know, that you hurt a little bit. Sometimes, like, if you're a player, I mean, get out there on the injury, and it's not great on the curve because when you're out there, they're expecting you to play. Right. They're expecting you to play. But at the same time, if you don't play to that level
Starting point is 00:51:30 that you know and they're used to seeing you play, they're like, okay, he played good, but he played like he played, well, they know this. You know what I'm saying? Like I said, depending on your situation, whether that is, I got somebody behind me, I ain't playing well, I'm on the last year. I'm on year two, I'm on year one, whatever that is, you're going to take the chance of either not telling or you're going to tell and play. That was the same thing like old school back in the day. Dude was get to get them concussions and just get back up like, no, I'm good. I didn't feel nothing because they're like, no, I don't want to lose my spot. Somebody else would come in there.
Starting point is 00:52:07 I'm straight. But when you could still be out there legitimately loopy. Right, right. But even back then, though, they weren't really looking for that, dude. But I went to sleep in my rookie year, boy, on a, I smacked me a tight end on the crosser. I thought I laid him down. They come out there like, hey, you good with something? Like, what are you doing out here?
Starting point is 00:52:26 I'm good. Lay yourself down. Yeah. Man, listen, back in the game, the next, the next, like, it was, what, three or four plays later? Hey, what's the day? Sunday. You know what it is. Like, I'm a win.
Starting point is 00:52:41 If I say Sunday, I got a good chance. I got a good chance. Now you. Oh, now you might. tossing up in the air. Now you talk about Sunday. They got a Thursday, a Saturday, or Monday. You know, like, hell.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Yeah, it could be any day right now the way they're looking at it, bro. Back in the day, anytime you woke up, Sunday. Sunday. Yes. Good, Sunday. Good, good, real good, real good. Joe. You know what time it is?
Starting point is 00:53:09 Yes, up. It's time for play or fade presented by prize. All right, Joe. So we're going to do our player fade a little different today. All right. I don't watch much college football because, you know, Ken State. It's not like I had a lot to. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:38 To the four and the playoffs. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Oh, my bad. That's aggressive. That was aggressive. Oh, that's real aggressive, bro. Gate is not in the playoffs season. Gates is not in the playoffs season.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Yeah, I mean, we was like, we went, what, six games over the last three seasons. bro, and five of those games was last year, bro. I mean, you know, at least we headed in the right direction, though. You know what I'm saying? Okay, no, I can respect it. And on top of that, we beat, we beat Akron. Now, you know, that's our rival. So we took the wagon wheel back.
Starting point is 00:54:09 They know what it is. Okay, okay. So this is what we got, man. The staff, dude, they made a lineup for both of us to either play or fade, okay? Okay. All right. You know better than I do, but let's see, let's see what they. what they pick, man.
Starting point is 00:54:27 So right here, they got your boy. My aunt running back. Like him to school. Yes. You like it? I like him. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, Fletcher.
Starting point is 00:54:37 You got Mark Fletcher? Yes, I got Fletcher. Okay. You got Trinidad. What is it? Chamblis. Yes, man. You got Trinidad.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Hey, bro, he came from the dirt, too. Yes. He's going to get it to. He came from the dirt. He going to get it too. Okay. But I see, okay. Now, we got, we got Charlie Becker.
Starting point is 00:55:00 I'm not too hip to Charlie Becker. Hey, man, Indiana been doing real big thing. The quarterback is the one that's supposed to be going number one, the Heisman trophy, buddy. Who you think throwing to him? It got to be, it got to him. Charlie, who you think he's throwing it to Charles? You got to be more.
Starting point is 00:55:22 This college ball. They're going up against Oregon. too, man. Okay. I know. Okay. Oregon quarterback. See, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I need to. What about, what about Dante? What you got on more? That's what I'm trying to see. More or less? You got more or less on more. I'm thinking, I'm thinking more. That's Oregon.
Starting point is 00:55:49 That's what I was thinking. That's all right. I don't know. That's Oregon. I'm thinking he's going more. Hey. And they're moving fast. It's a lot of plays.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Hey, hey, look. This is a staff pick, but I don't know. Right now, right now I'm feeling fatable a little bit. That's what I'm saying. It's college. I'm feeling real fatable. I'm feeling real fatable. Yeah, you know what, man, because I want to start getting my wins all the way up,
Starting point is 00:56:19 so I'm going to have to fade this one, man, because I don't know, man. Indiana, they broke something off. Wasn't that old state? They broke off like that. For a show, 38 to 3. I'm, this one I'm telling you. I'm mad at none of this. I'm going down.
Starting point is 00:56:34 You're going to play? Okay, I got to play that one. Okay. I got to play that made me nervous. I just thought about that. Just what I'm saying. That made me nervous. If you're going to play it, I'm not going to let you play it by yourself and you'd be
Starting point is 00:56:44 hitting me talking about something. Look, Joe, I don't told you and that you won. So I'm going to play it too. What is that, Elijah Surret? Elijah Surrette. Yep. Serret, Sarat, something like that. I believe in anybody on this thing that has an over on
Starting point is 00:56:59 Indiana. Okay. If it says up and it says Indiana, I'm winning. More. More. More. More. More. You more on that. I'm more. I'm more. More. More on Indiana. So all you got to do is score one touch. I don't even know what a half of a touchdown is. That means he has to score one. Because if you score a gun, what if he's running and he do a lateral to somebody, do they get a half? Nope. They get three quarter. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. No. Yeah, man. Anything on them boys over there in Indiana's scope. I got to I gotta go Mo. I got to go Mo.
Starting point is 00:57:33 I got to go Mo. Like, so let's just. And listen, I ain't going to lie to you. What's up? On the Dante Moore, I'm kind of,
Starting point is 00:57:40 I'm kind of going with it just because. Indiana defense, they striped O State crazy. When I think about the O'Hustate only had three points. So that, I'm over here talking about, like,
Starting point is 00:57:52 they could know something. Yeah. Yeah. Turn to that, he got to get him one. It's all making sense. It's all making sense. Gotta get him one.
Starting point is 00:58:02 We got running the rock over there in Miami. So, he got to get him one. Yes. And the Ole Miss Quarter. Listen here, man, we go play what y'all got right here, man. Please. Like, we ain't, you know, we ain't tripping because after we sit back and we really think about it, hey. We play all that.

Starting point is 00:58:43 Let's go. Come on. We ain't got no snaps. We ain't got nobody to talk to over there. We got no super. Man, we ain't got no super chat. They ain't even help your boy out on here. That's all right, though.
Starting point is 00:58:58 They're in the chat. chat. I can see them in the chat. Where they at? Where they have? We got one. We got Mackell Randall, $10. Mm-hmm. What's good? McCall? He says, Debo, can you keep it real? What do you think about these disrespectful Raven fans? That is a good question. Do you know what I think? What do you think, Debo? And keep it real. I think jealousy and if he run deep. Run deep. When they want what they can't have, when they want what you got, they're doing anything to steal it and steal your joy over it.
