Ocho, you're not gonna believe this one.
What, what, what?
Raiders are releasing DT Kristen Wilkins
with the designation of terminated bested veteran.
The reporters, the Raiders reportedly voided the remaining
35.2 million guaranteed money left on Wilkins' contract
last month due to how he treated the rehab
from the foot injury he suffered last season.
Raiders released a statement and it reads as such,
we have decided that it is in the best interest
of the organization to move on from
Christian Wilkins and he has been informed of his relief from the team. This franchise has a
commitment to excellence on and off the field with no clear path or plan for the future return
to play from Christian. This transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move forward and prepare for a new season.
Well, you know what?
That lets me know there's language in the contract somewhere
because they just said they voided keyword guaranteed.
The fact that they can get void guaranteed money
means there's language in the contract somewhere that says,
if you do not do X, Y, and Z,
then legally we can take your money back to you, even though it's
said guaranteed. Check this out. The NFLPA has 50 days to file a grievance on Christian Wilkins behalf
after the Raiders boarded 35.25 million worth of guaranteed money in his contract on June 4th,
8 million for this year, 27.25 for the next year.
The grievance was filed this morning.
A legal battle awaits.
Yeah.
They retired him.
Yeah, what'd he do wrong though, huh?
What'd you think he did wrong?
The same thing.
I guess he wasn't there rehabbing
or they said he wasn't taking the rehab.
Hold on, let me go back and see what they said.
He's been in, hold on.
It said, last month due to how he treated the rehab
from the foot injury he suffered,
remember the Cowboys took 500,000 from Trayvon Diggs.
Why?
Because of how he treated the rehab.
They said he wasn't there enough.
They didn't feel he was taking it serious enough.
Remember, Ocho also, the Milwaukee Bucks,
what did Dane want to do?
He wanted to train in Portland to be close to his family.
They didn't want to jive with that
and they didn't want to get into it.
They said the best thing for us to do
is to just move forward.
Now it seems like the Raiders are trying to extract,
get that, hey, we don't want to pay that.
We ain't trying to pay 35 million.
I see what the teams are doing.
And I understand, I see their side is,
okay, you're hurt, you're injured.
We want to be able to track how far along you are.
We want to see where you are.
To make sure, yep.
Make sure, now listen, they rehabbing no matter what. They gonna do that because we want to see where you make sure you make make sure not listen
They rehab and no matter what they don't do that because they do they want to play football
But they just want to be on top of how it was going
Who's doing it what's being done to make sure that you're doing everything you can to get yourself back on the field in a timely manner
That's the only reason they're doing this only reason Trey bond digs was fine because we can't see it
We don't know exactly what you're doing.
You can say you're doing it, which we know you are,
but it's not to our satisfaction
because it ain't coming from us.
I don't know how y'all do it, but Joe, but you know this.
Okay, I invest some money.
So I got stock in this, this, and this.
You know what some people do, Ocho?
They says, okay, here's your tracker.
You can track it also.
If you just track it and I don't track it,
you can tell me anything, but I can see,
hold on, why you buy some more of that?
Who told you to sell that?
If you're not there, because you got to realize it,
these guys are investments to these teams, Ocho.
Like you think about it.
What was his guarantee?
He got like 80 something million guaranteed, Ocho.
Yes, sir.
You don't think these people gonna watch out
for their investment to make sure they're trying
to get a return on their money?
That's the whole purpose of an investment,
is that I'm trying to get a return on that investment.
Bro, look, like I said, I don't really know.
I mean, look, this is what the Raiders are saying.
I'm sure if you were to talk to Kristen Wilkins
and his representative,
they'll tell you something different.
But I do understand, but these teams,
these teams for, I remember in the Super Bowl,
I tore my MCL and it was a grade two, grade three strain.
Ocho, I stayed, once we got back,
I stayed there for like five weeks after the season.
You don't think I wanted to go home?
Yeah.
But I stayed there, got that thing like 80, 90%.
Greek say, hey they the athletic trainer Steve
Antonopoulos we call him Greek he's a sharper you can go home but I'm gonna
need to see you in a month to make sure this thing is fully healthy you know
problem right no problem and I damn sure what one look here y'all got y'all
guarantee me how much 84 million I'm staying there with you okay that's like
one thousand percent on they down or Hey, you know how them young boys are.
Hey, y'all, I'll get all that.
I'll get all that money.
When the season over,
them boys trying to get up out of there.
Man.
They trying to get up out of there.
I think in Dame's case, though,
with him knowing he gonna miss the whole season,
okay, Ocho?
Yes, yeah.
I think, you know, probably just put him
in a better head space being around his family,
which he absolutely.
I kind of understood.
I don't feel like he's a guy who's gonna shortchange you,
but you know, I get it.
Maybe they want to already get rid of him anyway,
because of the- They did.
You know what I mean?
Because you know what, Joe?
Dane never wanted to be there in the first place.
Dane wanted to, Dane, see, first of all,
Dane let the fans and this ring culture force him out of Portland. He never wanted to be there in the first place. Dane wanted to, Dane, see, first of all, Dane let the fans and this ring culture
force him out of Portland.
He never wanted to leave Portland.
But he felt, he felt in order to appease a lot of people
that kept putting pressure on him,
he needed to go somewhere.
Man, stepped up, played for a championship.
Luca done played for a championship.
This one done played for a championship.
Dane ain't ever been close to playing for a championship.
They got him up out of there, but he went to a place,
that ain't where he wanted to go.
He said he wanted to go to Miami.
Well, Miami didn't offer the package
that Minnesota offered, excuse me, Milwaukee offered.
So they, I'm trying to get the best deal, Ocho.
I understand, you my boy, Ocho,
I'm gonna do everything I possibly can but you know, Ocho
Where you want to go ain't all for me what this place over here?
So you might have to do a kawaii you might have to do a detour
You might have to go somewhere for a year and let them move you right but I got to take the highest price and
for them
Joe, let me know what you think it It seems to me, when somebody take the steps
that Milwaukee took, it seems like to me,
now maybe I'm exaggerating, but I think they were overdain.
They realized that this thing wasn't gonna work.
Oh Joe, that's $111 million, Joe?
It's just, for me, I think they were thinking like,
the injuries, I mean, he's pretty much been injured
over there every year,
so they could never get full potential
into what they could be.
I'm gonna be honest with y'all,
I was excited about him going to Milwaukee.
I know he didn't wanna go there,
but I just thought him and Yannis
would bring a different element to the Eastern Conference
that a lot of these teams wouldn't be able to match.
And the fact that he had to deal with these injuries
the past two years, man, I just feel like they was like,
well, our time is up on that, you know what I mean?
He was injured, Yonis was injured his first year.
Then he got, then he, you know, kind of nicked,
he was licked early, then now, and they say,
you know what, let, instead of trying to let this thing
play out, let's go ahead and cut the cord.
Cause sometimes, Ocho, people like, well,
well, maybe we can salvage it.
Nah, bro, you burnt this.
Let's not peel this burnt edges away and try to eat the insides now bro
Just go ahead throw this whole issue in the trash and move on and let's try to get another dish going
Because that's what happened. They like we're not trying to salvage this. We already know what it is
Yeah, yeah
It's a situation where y'all I'm sure Yannis is frustrated because Yannis said like these superstars,
they keep their foot on these teams neck
because I want to compete for a championship
every single year.
Right.
It's unfortunate.
It's funny how they do it.
They don't see value in you anymore once you get hurt.
Once you get injured, that's it.
You been that?
Well, I don't know if you've ever been that,
but Joe, you been that. I've been injured. They don't even talk's it. You been that? Well, I don't know if you've ever been that, but Joe, you been that.
I've been injured.
They don't even talk to you.
You get hurt, man, they don't even talk to you.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, until you getting close to get back,
you feel it, 84.
You ready?
You ain't scared, are you?
Bro, the last three weeks, you ain't say a damn word to me.
Now all of a sudden, I'm a couple days away from returning,
now you ask me how I'm feeling.
You should have asked me that three weeks ago.
Hey, hey, boy, it's lonely being hurt.
I ain't gonna lie to you.
Yes!
It's lonely being hurt, boy, damn.
Man, man, that's the worst.
Man, I broke my collarbone, man.
I should have had this thing replaced.
I mean, it cut, it almost broke out of the skin.
And so it's like, it's gonna be like,
it's gonna be like, that was week,
that was week before I broke it.
So they say it's gonna be like eight to 10 weeks.
Yeah.
So, oh Joe, you know what I'm saying?
I go and like week six,
I'm, you know, I'm running on the treadmill.
Man, I try to open up, crack,
tore all the scar tissue loose. Now I'm going for the rest of the year.
You got it on there anyway, didn't you?
I tried to rush back out there.
I already know.
Hey, you know I had a thing.
I said, man, you know I feel,
oh Joe, you know I feel pretty good.
You know I'm feeling like that.
I said, let me open this thing. Let me open it up. Joe, I got ge man, you know, I feel, oh Joe, you know, I feel pretty good. You know, I'm feeling like that. I said, let me open this thing.
Let me open it up.
Joe, I got geeks, Joe.
I'm feeling good too.
I'm just running like, I tried.
Damn.
I hit that button.
Then I got down on that, hey.
As a matter of fact,
they knew it was bad, cause they sent me to New York
and saw the Giants team doctor.
He said, yeah, you tore the scar tissue,
the cartilage loose through from there.
He said, that's a six weeks injury.
That's Ralph O. Shannon.
Yeah.
Yeah, I let them gas me up.
They gas me up, though.
Hey, I will come on back.
Yeah, you're trying to get back too fast.
Check this out, Ocho.
There is a video that has surfaced today
of Wilkins dancing in the Raiders facility
to Backstreet Boys just a few days ago.
Check out this video, guys.
Check out Behind the Flow, a podcast documentary series following the launch of San Diego Football
Club.
We go behind the scenes and explore the stories of those involved. San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer
because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team.
We need veteran players and we need young players.
Like, you're building a team from scratch
and so the succession plan of long-term success needs to be defined.
We need to embrace this community.
When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring
rain, just watching the fans jumping up and down.
I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me.
Not only was that going to be my game, but it was going to be my life.
Listen to San Diego FC Behind the Flow, now on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,

Get fired up, y'all.

you can't get back.
Showing up to the locker room every morning
just to talk.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. I don't know if y'all did this, but I can explain something.
A lot of times guys are like, man, I'm hurt.
I'm hurt.
I can't go out there.
And they say, look, we just want you to go out there,
just do a couple of walkthroughs.
They put them pads on, they go out there
and they do the walkthrough.
And when they come back in there,
they get that little tap on the shoulder.
They want to see you upstairs.
They already got you on film.
Oh, okay. They got you on film. Okay. Now I ain't telling you what somebody told you upstairs. They already got your own film. Oh, okay.
They got your own film.
Okay.
Now I ain't telling them what somebody told you,
I'm telling them what I know.
Yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, that's all they want to see.
Hey, you going through the A.
I want to see you upstairs.
Hey, so hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Hold on, camp not started, right?
His, his homie, unknowingly incriminated him
by posting it on Instagram,
not knowing that they going through something already
and they used that video against him
and they got him up out of there.
Wow.
There are reports, this is reports,
we don't know if it's true or not,
saying that Wilkins refused surgery
when the team recommended.
Ocho, you remember the Michael Thomas situation?
He had all off season and this man had surgery in June. Right. The situation with Wilkins and
Vegas has been simmering for months as both sides disagreed on how the foot injury and recovery
should be handled. Kristen Wilkins made 29 million last year
and had already 25.5 million already this year.
That's $50 million, $49.7 million for five games.
Don't know, he trying to get out of there.
He trying to get out of there, Ocho?
He was gonna make seven million, Ocho,
he was gonna make seven million, which, he was gonna make seven million,
which would have pushed the total to 50,
basically about 57 million, with another 27.5 due.
Therefore, it lies 84.5 million guaranteed.
Hey, y'all want me to have surgery?
Okay.
Now when I can't come back and play,
remember y'all recommended this surgery.
Right.
What surgery you supposed to have?
He had, I think he had a leg strength.
I think he had a foot, he had a foot injury.
Oh, okay.
Hey, if you have a leg strength,
do you actually need, do you need surgery or is it optional?
Sometimes they recommend it, but at the end of the look,
Ocho, remember how I told you, if I'm gonna get hurt,
I'm gonna get hurt on team's time.
If I'm gonna have surgery, I'm gonna have it on your time.
So when it goes awry, remember what you said, right?
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Damn.
I mean, he could go, okay, I got a doctor.
Your doctor says this, okay,
let's go get an independent doctor.
Somebody that doesn't,
because my doctor is gonna look out
for the best interest of me.
Your doctor is gonna look out
for the best interest of the team.
Let's go get somebody that ain't got no dog in the fight.
Let's go to Anderson up in Charlotte.
Let's go to get somebody at the
Curling Joe Clinic out here.
Let's go see the Andrew, hey,
ain't no, hey, I got time, I ain't got no time.
I'm gonna go see James Andrews.
I'm gonna go see Stedman Hawkins.
I'm gonna go see Dr. Anderson up in Charlotte.
I'll go see Watkins.
I don't care, I'm gonna go see five or six doctors.
What is the best treatment for this?
Okay, y'all here's the x-rays.
This is what's going on.
What is the best course of action?
Do I let this heal on its own?
Will it heal on its own?
Or do I need to have surgeon have this thing fixed?
What do you guys recommend?
Okay.
I got seven, eight different opinions.
Six of them says have surgery.
Nah, six of them says let it heal to have surgery.
Man, listen, you know, your body, you know, your body and everybody else.
He felt he didn't need surgery obviously, but with training camp start, let me
take that back.
I said, Liz Franks, he has a Jones fracture.
Oh, well that, hey, that needs surgery there, baby.
I think he had already had surgery.
Maybe he needed another surgery.
Hey, hold on, what's the Jones?
What is that?
It's like, hold on.
I'm finna-
Oh, tell you, I gotta break that down for you, boy.
Hey, but listen, don't get me to lying, boy.
I ain't never been hurt, so I know Jones.
A Jones fracture, also known as the fifth metatarsal
fracture, is a break in the bone that connects
the pinky toe to the foot base.
So the pinky toe, the little bone that's right here.
Yeah.
You need that, boy.
Yeah.
Hey, I would, I would, I would, I would.
There it is right there. Oh, can y'all see that? Yeah, I can see it. Yeah. Hold on. Hey, I would, I would, I would, I would. There it is right there.
Oh, can y'all see that?
Yeah, I can see it.
Yeah.
Hey, I would have got that done right away.
Ocho.
Right away.
And that's not a, that's not a small man.
That's a large man.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
That's a large man on that.
He, and he's quick, he's agile.
His whole thing is playing with quickness.
I wonder why he had surgery last October,
but the rehab didn't work
and he needed surgery again per team.
I don't know when he got it.
Yeah.
I don't know when he got that.
He got that surgery, Ocho.
I'm gonna play no game.
Ocho, I got info.
Ocho, Ocho, this is not like I'm in a contract year.
I got 84 million guaranteed.
Yeah.
And I'm in Las Vegas with no state income tax.
Right.
I guarantee you get picked up.
I can tell you where you gonna go to.
Where you going, Ocho?
Over there with the star in the heaven.
Cause it's not a want, it's a need.
Uh-oh. But here's the thing though, Ocho. If he's not on a helmet. Cause it's not, it's not a bonus. A need. Oh, but here's the thing though.
Ocho, if he's not healthy, can he pass a physical?
Oh, I understand the game he playing.
He trying to, he trying to pull the wool over their eyes.
Ocho and listen, man, listen, he, he might,
you never know how a player feels.
If you, if you saying one thing
and they trying to force you
to do something else and it basically got the player feeling
like, well, damn, you really don't care about me.
You just want me to get out there on the field.
Ocho, no, Ocho, they telling him to have surgery.
No, but he's trying to do it his way
without having to have the surgery.
I already, one, I'm not going back under the knife again.
I'm gonna wait till he heal on his own.
Then when I feel I'm healthy enough, I'm gonna get on the surgery. I already, one, I'm not going back under the knife again. I'm gonna wait till the heal on his own. Then when I feel I'm healthy enough,
I'm gonna get on the field. That guy, that's the, that's the only,
that's the only, only, only thing it could be.
But you can't be dancing in the locker room, Ocho.
You can't be dancing in the training room.
That part.
You know, they can't, Ocho, I don't know how Cincinnati do it. Joe,
I don't know how they do it. But in Denver, we had cameras everywhere.
The meeting room, big meeting room,
small meeting rooms, training room, locker room.
Somebody posted that though.
That's a-
But, oh, they got cameras in there too.
But, and again, Ocho, why?
Why are you dancing?
It's like, if you injured,
Oh Joe, you know this, Joe, you know this.
If you injured, if they find, if you injured and you out,
boy, they gonna act like a fool.
They're like, you injured and you out?
Man, you know, hey, bro, you can't,
there's certain things you have to do.
And people that's not in this profession don't understand.
When I got a life outside of this, bro,
they're paying this man $84 million, fully guaranteed.
They pay you X amount of dollars.
Bro, if you injured, you can't be going out to the club.
It's really that simple.
Not in get caught.
It's hard to go out in a city
and with a sports franchise, they gonna know.
Nowadays it's hard to do any damn thing.
Yes.
It used to be, before I got there,
like a couple of years before I got there,
the Broncos used to stay at home the night before the game. But after a couple of years before I got there, the Broncos used to stay at home the night before
the game. But after a couple of DUIs, a couple of, you know, people getting in fights, I
said, no, I'll take y'all ass to the hotel. And so, and now, Ocho, you know, if somebody
is out before the night before the game.
Yeah. Before the game.
The night before the game. Or if you the game? The night before the game.
Or if you injured.
Ocho, let's just say for the sake of argument, Ocho,
you Ocho, you ain't played in three weeks
cause you injured.
Yeah.
But you out.
You know somebody posted that Ocho.
Joe, you know somebody gonna post that.
This is why the Bengals can't win no game.
This is why Ocho can't get back on the field.
Look at him out here at the club.
Yeah.
Now, now Mike Brown go field some type of way.
Yeah.
Hey, hold on though.
Ocho, so on game days, even if you at home,
they still make you actually stay at a hotel.
Yeah, you stay at a hotel night before the game.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
Man, if you didn't, Joe, then Joe gonna be,
man, then Joe gonna go get,
we had guys go get drunk.
Hey.
Hey, okay. I dig it.
Ah, man. Hey, Joe Bad.
Look here, man.
We had some guys come in on Friday, on Saturday morning.
Yeah. Outta. Bro, hit the shower, man. Just go on and get in on Friday, on Saturday morning. Yeah. I don't know.
Hit the shower, man.
Just go on and get in the shower, man.
You gotta sweat some of that.
You gotta get that up out you, man.
Cause I mean, you smell like a liquor still.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, did you like take a bath in vodka, gin,
or some cognac?
I mean, damn.
Hey, hey, when we just check in hotels,
they used to take some of them cast mini bars.
Where they come in, they wouldn't even have liquor
in they mini bars.
I'm serious.
Yeah, people don't get, yeah, I know.
Yeah, hey, look, look.
Cause my teammates will be coming to my room,
hey, let me get something about your mini bar.
Let me get something about your mini bar.
No, because people gonna think,
nah, I'm drinking out the mini bar.
No, hell nah.
And you know they got the mini bars, Nigel,
that if you touch it, if you don't put that thing
back in like 30 seconds, they charge you.
Hey, get out of here.
They gonna get there, yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, I put that little thing on my door,
I open the door right there, hey, what you want?
Come on, Sharp, man. You know, you know they coming to. Hey, what you want? Come on, Sharp, man.
No, come on Sharp.
Ain't no come on Sharp, man.
No.
Yeah.
I hate this situation.
I really do.
Cause I mean, Wilkins is a phenomenal player.
He's gone to the pro bowl quick.
He's agile. He could rush the player. He's gone to the Pro Bowl quick. He's agile
He could rush the passer. He can stop the run. I mean, he's a very very good defensive lineman
Yeah, and for it to cut for it to come like this
But it's hard and see this you see what I'm saying. Oh Joe. This is why they hate to get guaranteed money. You see
Cuz you cut now you get cuz cause now they'll take one situation
like this and try to put it on the other four.
Yeah. And use that as, as, as, as the poster,
poster reason on why we don't do it.
Yeah. But listen, there's more to the story.
Obviously we only, you know, one side,
we don't know his side.
I'm sure his side is, is valid.
He has a reason for doing what he was doing.
And it's unfortunate it's come to this.
He's gonna land somewhere because there's too much of a,
too much of a talent at the position.
And the defensive tackles that can be used
and use his service somewhere.
I'm getting healthy, but I'm gonna get my money back.
I'm gonna get my money back.
You think you're gonna win that grievance?
I don't know.
He might not get it.
I mean, he might, look, without,
I mean, the guarantee is a guarantee.
Right.
And see, that's the problem that you run into, Ocho,
you see?
Now, they ain't just trying to take the guarantee
back this year.
They're trying to take back all the remaining guarantee.
But why he wouldn't just had a surgery though?
And they still was on pain?
Yeah, absolutely.
I don't get it.
He had made just a little less than $50 million
for five games.
So the good chance that he has the surgery again,
he gonna miss this year.
So he had another 27 million this year.
So basically like 30, 37, 34 and a half million dollars on top of the
money that he got.
Matter of fact, not because if you only played five games,
right, and they didn't pay them that much already. And you
ain't had surgery in the whole off season and now be going in
the camp. This season again too,
if you don't get surgery.
Yeah.
Man the hell with this shit.
Right, cause they looked at he had surgery in October.
So they probably saw this thing around,
what say like March, April,
and it wasn't healing properly.
Right.
So they say, hey, let's go ahead and get that.
And he like, nah. Cause remember Michael Thomas had that injury.
And that was my question on Joe.
Bro, you had the whole off season.
So you got done.
So you had in the January, February, March, April, May.
You don't get the surgery till June and you go into camp in July. Right.
And you don't understand why the Saints are upset
Yeah
and
I'm confused
But hey
Hopefully they get it resolved Jayler Hurst was asked if he will open up his play style more now that he's won a Super Bowl
He said no, I went a very long time being told I got to do it a certain type of way.
That didn't get me the win when I did how everyone told me to.
When you put so much energy into personal performance, you kind of lose sight of the
main thing of winning.
Since the loss in 2022, it's been my main motivation to find ways to win.
Regardless of how it looks, I just want to find ways
to win regardless of how it
looks. I just want to find ways
to win and that mentality I
want this team to have I like
it. Perfect answer. I know a
guy who who won a bunch of a
bunch of games a bunch of games
and a bunch of championships
doing it that way Tom Brady. Yeah. But the Tom Brady. Yeah. Yeah. But in
the time Brady and his first
Super Bowl, didn't he throw for
150 yards? Do y'all remember
Tom Brady and the Super Bowl
against the Rams in which uh
the second Super Bowl when they
played in Atlanta? How many
yards did he throw for? You
see winning but now they won't
jail or hurt the god damn be
like Patrick. Oh man, we need
you to throw for 400. No, for 400, we lose, then what are we doing?
Nothing.
It just look good until you look at it,
until you look at the stat line.
The pretty person that get dressed up with nowhere to go.
I almost said it.
Now what good is that, Ocho?
I got on my Sunday best.
I got on some nice boots.
I got on nice suit, got nice outfit.
Oh, I'm dressed to the nine.
Nowhere to go.
I ain't got nowhere to go.
So he throw for all them yards and they lose.
Now what?
The most yards ever thrown for in the Super Bowl game,
Tom Brady has it.
What was the outcome?
Loss.
505. Loss. lost. How come? Lost.
505. Lost. Two games. He threw for one game. He threw for
150. How many yards did he
throw for against the ref the
second time and get in Atlanta?
I think it was 2019.
I'm trying to win. That's it. That's all that matters at the end of the day, no matter what, no matter
what the outsiders say, no matter what the outsiders say, Philadelphia
plays one style of football offensively.
One style. AJ Brown
some days, it's gonna be your day. Devontae Smith
some days, it's gonna be your day. Saquon, some days, it's gonna be your day. Devontae Smith some days, it's gonna be your day.
Saquon some days, some some days, some some days,
it's gonna be your day.
That's it.
Jayler Hurst, when it comes to the passing game,
whatever you give me, that's what I'm taking.
I'm not forcing Nathaniel.
And he showed that formula, it wins you a ring.
Yep.
Man, I'm coming back to play this year, man.
Fuck that shit.
A reporter asked Jalen Hurts why he didn't wear his Super Bowl ring.
His response, I've moved on to a new year.
It's really as simple as that.
Boy, that boy mean business.
Wait, what was his response? I've moved on to the new year.
It's really as simple as that. Yeah, well that's like some like some Kobe Jordan type.
Listen, I know I won, but the job at hand is not finished.
My goodness.
I'm like, my goodness.
Okay, I like that. I like that.
I like that.
Damn.
Oh, I definitely put mine on.
I wore it that night
and then it went in the safety pocket box.
That was it, huh?
That was it.
I don't wear them.
Woo.
You cut hair the thing, the Ocho.
Yeah.
They know you got them. Yeah cuz here's the thing though,
Ocho. Yeah. They know you got
them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They
don't need to have it on, huh?
Yeah. Yeah. I've been out
walking around. like a wind
chime. You know, I like that.
Hey, he's very matter of fact. He's like, hey, I do. Hey, he coach buys dad. He played for coach Sabre. Yeah.
The thing, the main thing is the main thing. And it's on to the next. That was Tom.
What's your favorite Super Bowl ring the next one I get?
I got a question.
Hypothetically speaking, when the Bengals
are the two bowlers, you think they'll get me a ring?
I don't know, they might.
Sometimes that happens.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think, listen, I mean, they gave,
the Ravens gave J-O-1 when they won in 2012.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sometimes, yeah.
Yeah, I think that, so I, yeah,
I'm probably gonna get me a ring
because I know Joe and Chase and Mike Brown,
they gonna, they gonna, hey listen,
I might not be out there in real life.
Hey, you see that stance?
Hey, call it, call it for me,
I'm calling for me, call it for me.
All I know is I saw that man put both hands
in your breastplate.
Come on, sit down in that chair.
Hold on, mom, ball in there, call it, call it.
What you want me to do?
Blue 17, blue 17, say hut. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that. I'm not going't really dance. I got places to be. I got places to be.
Hey, I felt real quick right there.
I felt real quick.
See, that's the thing, see?
That's how you mind play tricks on you.
You see, you felt quick.
That's what happens.
Oh my goodness.
Check out Behind the Flow, a podcast documentary series following the launch of San Diego Football Club.
We go behind the scenes and explore the stories of those involved.
San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team.
We need veteran players and we need young players.
Like, you're building a team from scratch,
and so the succession plan of long-term success
needs to be defined.
We need to embrace this community.
When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier,
and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring rain,
just watching the fans jumping up and down.
I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me.
Not only was that going to be my game,
but it was going to be my life.

Hey, Gallo recently gave away 253 meals while working at KFC for a day
where the fan pulled up wearing a Bucks jersey.
This is the first time Shiloh had seen one.
Check this out, Ocho. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, he got his jersey.
The 28 jersey, the 28 jersey! The 28 jersey! That's the first one I've seen!
That's it! I told you I wrote y'all your jersey! Hold on, I'm about to give you five. I'm about to give you five bags bro.
Take all these bro. Make sure everybody eat bro.
Signed in anything or not? Yes, of course!
I'll take a picture of it. Yeah, take it all, let me get it!
Appreciate you bro. Alright, this is the first Bugs Jersey I ever signed. Oh yeah? The first one.
Where's everybody at? I don't know where you got this from but.
I'm about to order that throwback. I need to see you in that thing. No most definitely.
Appreciate you brother. I'm gonna sign the front too.
Yeah do it. I was thinking that too on the way here.
You don't go by the water's gone. All right, you can check this.
Listen, I left home right here.
But how did you choose that?
What's your name, bro?
Jay.
All right, nice to meet you, bro. Appreciate you, man.
But Ayo, that gotta be a great feeling, huh?
Yeah.
That's gotta be a great feeling.
I wonder if somebody got that number one sign,
because I was number one in the preseason, Ocho.
How you did that?
That thing might be worth some money.
Even back then? Yeah. How did it let you get away with wearing number one side, cause I was number one in the preseason, Ocho. That thing might be worth some money.
Even back then?
Yeah.
How did it let you get away with wearing number one?
In the preseason,
you could wear anything in the preseason.
All the 80s were gone.
Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay.
I ain't know that.
Yeah.
I ain't know that.
Hey, that gotta be a great,
hey, that gotta be one of the best feelings, man,
to see people wearing your jersey, despite-
Oh, for sure.
You know, you finally get drafted,
you finally get drafted to a team and then to come in and that's dope.
That's gotta be a great feeling.
I remember not only getting drafted, my favorite moment that had me like that, how shallow
it wasn't just there, was seeing myself in Madden.
While seeing myself in Madden in 2001, I was going crazy.
My stats was low as hell.
I wasn't tripping, but I would call it on my home.
But I say, well, y'all won't believe it.
I'm in Madden.
I'm mad.
Just being able to play with yourself.
Man, that was awesome.
Even I was-
Hold on, Ocho, hold on.
Rephrase that.
What?
Being able to, oh, pause, pause, pause.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, man. that. I'm gonna praise that.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna
do that. I'm not gonna do that.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not
gonna do that. I'm not gonna do
that. I'm not gonna do that.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not
gonna do that. I'm not gonna do
that. I'm not gonna do that.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not
gonna do that. I'm not gonna do
that. I'm not gonna do that. I'm
not gonna do that. I'm not gonna
do that. I'm not gonna do that.
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not
gonna do that. I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna do Yeah. I get me 20 pieces of honey barbecue. They still sell those at KFC?
Man, I ain't been to KFC.
I ain't been to KFC.
They used to have the 20,
they still serve them honey barbecue wings?
Yeah.
Hey, chat.
Can you still get honey barbecue wings at KFC?
I know y'all know, chat.
You eat KFC? I will. Nahall know, chat. You eat KFC?
I will.
Nah, you trippin', man.
You better go on to churches.
Ain't nothing like churches, boy.
And number three, three legs fries.
Get you a little coleslaw on the side.
You eat coleslaw?
You don't eat coleslaw?
Hell nah. You don't eat coleslaw? Hell no. You don't eat coleslaw? What? Okay,
you know, the way you feel about coleslaw is the way I feel about my grandma okras.
She get them okras from churches. I can't do that. I can't do that. No ma'am. Tell
me, do I want some?
Absolutely not. Absolutely not.
But I will take that cold
slough with that strawberry
soda. Lamar Jackson Lamar Jackson
was asked if 2025 might be the
year to finally win the Super
Bowl. This is what he responded
to. He said to be honest, I
really try not thinking that far because every time we have those discussions, we get to the playoffs, but we don't punch in.
We don't finish. I'm trying to finish camp the right way and then get ready for the bills.
I'm trying not to think about the Super Bowl yet.
I like that. And I hate when reporters ask those questions.
Thinking so far ahead, one game at a time. Every player ahead, in one game at a time.
Every player should be thinking one game at a time.
We already know at the end of the day.
They only ask guys that haven't won the Super Bowl.
You think they asked,
did they ever ask Tom Brady about the Super Bowl?
No.
Did they ask Patrick Mahone about the Super Bowl?
No.
They only ask the quarterbacks,
the great quarterbacks that haven't won it.
Guess what?
Lamar Jackson wins, they'll never ask him about 26.
They won't ask him about 26. They won't ask about 27.
If Joe Burrow, if Josh Allen,
or I guarantee you they don't ask Jalen Hurts
about no Super Bowl in 25.
Right.
Can be done it.
Right, yeah.
You, Ocho, until you do it,
oh he can do that,
but until you show people you can do it.
They gonna be on your head.
I don't think it's a good question to ask.
I mean, you know what it is.
We all in the training camp,
we all have the same goal once we get to camp.
The end goal is to make it to the Super Bowl.
We already know why, we know why we fell short.
Turnovers, we understand that.
We all watch the game.
I mean, a reporter, I know, I understand reporters have a job to do.
Let's talk about this season.
Let's talk about week one.
They go straight to the finish line.
We don't want to go straight to the finish line.
Let's talk about who we got week one and who we're preparing for.
Anthony to hear another.
It's funny that, man, I ain't think about week one.
But see, it was different then, Ocho,
cause we was playing in the preseason.
Right.
So it wasn't no think about no week one.
I'm just trying to get through training camp.
I'm trying to get through these preseason games, help me.
And then when week one rolled around,
I worry about week one.
But I'm trying to stay healthy in training camp.
I ain't trying to get no blisters.
I ain't trying to get no dings.
And I ain't trying to get dinged in preseason game.
Because like I said, Ocho, you know, you got 10 plays in the first game.
You got, you know, probably 15, 20 plays in the second game.
And you played into the third quarter, the third game.
The fourth game you sat out.
Wow, yep. So I wouldn't, you know, now these guys, because Lam game, the fourth game you set out. Wow. Yep.
So I wouldn't, you know, now these guys, because Lamar, there's a good chance Lamar
might not play. If he plays, he'll probably play 10 plays the entire preseason.
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, I thought I thought I could be wrong.
I thought I saw some saying that
that Joe was going to play a little bit more in the in the in the preseason.
Well, he should, because y' start, y'all start slow.
So something has to change, change something up for Joe.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Just, just, just play a few more staff to get more acclimated to the game
scene as opposed to just going in there, you know, week one and, and,
and trying to play catch up where I think every time a season starts,
the defense is always ahead of the curve in front of offenses. Cause all they got to do, the defense is always ahead of the curve
in front of offenses.
Cause all they got to do-
The defense is always going to be ahead of the curve.
Just like when we got the training camp, Ocho.
Because they're reacting.
I'll say it's timing.
It takes time to get timing.
Jalen Ramsey was asked outright if he would play safety.
He said he'd be willing to,
but also included an interesting detail.
I'm not getting paid what I'm getting paid
not to affect the game and be in certain spots.
I like that.
Hey, that's a bar.
That is a bar.
They not paying me this much money
not to be able to affect the game.
And where can a player affect the game?
Best at?
At the corner position.
Well, let you Ed Reed.
Well, ain't gonna be no every foot to me.
It'd be a safety never play.
Yeah, and I played I played I played an arrow with Ronnie.
Yeah, I played with Ed.
I got a year.
Ed got a year Troy different.
I never seen the guys take the ball away like him. He was different. I never seen a guy take the ball away like him.
He was different.
Hey, talk about a true student of the game.
He can tell you what you want before you do it.
Cd lamb needed to get something off his chest today.
Oh Joe.
I feel like it.
I feel like the league knows what happens when I'm healthy
and I have that for a whole season.
But if you don't, I will happily show you what's going to be like this year.
Honestly, I'm a dominant receiver. I don't like to speak highly of myself, but
I can't wait to show you guys. I like CD and George Pickens debuted a new handshake.
Let's take a look at this old Joe. I don't know what they threw up.
Finally we got something to look forward to.
If you're a Cowboys fan, you got something to look forward to.
Listen, it's going to be exciting.
Offensively, it's going to be exciting.
It's going to be fireworks.
Goddamn, George picking his... All right, I almost said elite.
He's good.
Very good.
If he got his head on straight and he keeps the make-up...
I'm glad, Ocho, because we throw around that elite.
We throw around that elite.
I know.
I know.
I almost slipped up. I almost slipped up. Listen, if he keep the main thing, the main thing this season over there in Dallas, not
only is he going to have a great season along with C.D. Lamb and Dak, he's going to have
a nice payday at the end of this season and it won't be where they end up.
It ain't got to be the Cowboys.
They don't need to be there.
They don't need to be there.
He can go somewhere else and be a number one and do what he needs to do.
He done seen everybody else get paid and he was supposed to be right in line next.
So this is your year.
Well, kicking the can down the road ain't going to help that with Micah.
Because how you going to pay Micah?
Because Micah, because see here's the thing.
You signed Micah last year before this 35.
You might can get it for 35.
Now you have to go to 4243.
Yeah, it's unfortunate, man.
It's unfortunate, but.
Hey, all right, don't you know, we're
going to get out of here on this one.
It's time for our final segment of the evening.
It's time for Q and A.
the
yes true and famous Jerry throwing shade at Micah
Micah depressed to cowboy players fighting each other
on the first day of training camp yeah cowboy
disappointment or Joe you you you you ready to go with that
yeah you think the Cowboys gonna have a disappointing season Cowboy disappointment. Ocho, you ready to go with that?
You think the Cowboys are going to have a disappointing season?
No. I don't know what they're going to do on defense.
I can tell you what they're going to do on offense though.
As long as Dak stays upright and healthy,
I can tell you what they're going to do on offense though.
I know what C.D. Lamon is going to do.
I know what George Pickens is going to do.
I know it's going to happen.
I wish they would. I wish they would double CD.
And we got to understand George Pickens is someone
that can go from, he can hit his head off the goal post
from anywhere on the field.
You can, he's special.
Lance, I didn't see him take hitches.
He can go to, he can do it all, man.
He can do it all.
Hopefully he has his head on.
He's in a great situation. Hopefully, he has his head on.
He's in a great situation.
Quarterback that can get him to football.
Yeah.
They wanted him.
And so hopefully, you know, all the bad taste, all the things that happened in Pittsburgh,
he left that there and he comes with a new slate in Dallas.
Dr. Frank L Bellamy, what up, Doc?
Hey fam, just checking in.
I appreciate the love, energy and passion
each of you bring every single night.
Well, we thank you.

and subscribers.
Kempernowa Jr. said, my question is who's on your Mount Rushmore of Atlanta rappers of all time?
Wow.
That's a good one.
Three stacks.
Damn.
Three stacks.
Tip. Jeasy.
Ooh, wee. I'm not going to lie to you. Woo.
My my Rushmore.
So don't be coming to me talking about this.
This is mine. Right. Three stacks.
Luda TIGZ.
Yes, I know Lil Baby in Atlanta. I know Savage. I know Future, but for me,
I ain't leaving three stacks off and Tip, Luda, Jeezy. Nah.
Run tail that. Deshaun Allen say
what's up? Um Ocho. Question.
Who had the best comeback jokes
between Fred Sanford, Estom,
Martin, Pam, or George Jefferson
and Weezy? Who is he? The best?
It gotta be Estom. Fred Sanford
and Estom. Yeah, definitely. Fred, yeah,, Sanford, and Esther. Hey, that's classic.
Classic.
Matter of fact, you know what, can I tell you something?
Yeah.
You know what I love about when we do the show during the week?
Because we're in around 12, 12, 30.
You know what come on at 1 o'clock?
Sanford and Son?
Sanford and Son.
See, I would go Fred, Fred Saffin and Esther,
Martin and Pam, and then Georgia Weezy.
Yeah, absolutely.
Aaron Orr, it's good to see players with short careers
getting to just do like Sterling and Tony Buscelli.
Hopefully Eric Williams is next.
Thank you.
We're very very very excited.
My brother goes into the hall what a week from Saturday. What is that the first?
That's the first week from Saturday the first right.
We're extremely excited. I'm excited.
Hell I ain't heard him
speak in such a long time. He
ain't got before minutes. He
ain't got the kind of time that
I had. It's a get y'all ass up
there. Sit y'all ass down. Yeah.
But it ain't before of them. So,
I mean, they probably let him
go a little longer. But I'm
excited. Pat Dobson, to save your life,
which jersey would you pick between
the Raiders and the Steelers?
The most sought after helmet,
the two most sought after helmets at the Pro Bowl,
Raiders and the Cowboys.
You had to like put a bid in,
like, hey bro, if you make the Pro Bowl bro, hey, can I get that helmet?
Because you got to realize who was going.
You got Troy the quarterback.
Okay, yeah, I love the trading hook quarter.
You got time, you got Mike Irving, you got Emmett.
Those are the skill positions.
And then you had Nate Newton, you had Big Easy,
you had Larry Allen.
Yeah.
And then for the Raiders, you had Tim Brown.
I think one year you had Jerry.
Who else?
You had like T-Mac, Terry McDaniel.
Yeah, but everybody wanted those.
We were, we were Steeler fans growing up.
My mom liked the Steelers.
So I took, I think I took my
first or third grade pitcher in a Steelers jersey. Franco Harris. Never forget. Because you
remember Steelers jersey to have those sleeves Ocho they can't
do three quarter sleeve. The sleeve come to your elbow.
Hot, hot ass jerseys.
Jalen Ivey said better season Ocho 06, Torrey Holt 03.
I don't even remember what I did in 06.
I think Torrey Holt had like 16, I think you have 1600 too, I think Torrey Holt had like 1600.
Because Torrey Holt had like a stretch like five, like four or five straight seasons, he went over 1500.
Hey, man, you see that team,
you see that team he was able to play for?
Tory had 1696, how many touchdowns?
Oh, was that the same year that, what you call them?
Yeah, 1696, 12 touchdowns but I gotta rock with you. Hold on, I have a question. Yeah. Do they understand who he played for,
what team he played for, what era?
The greatest show on turf.
I think, you know what, Ocho, I think what you call him,
well, that was 03.
What you call him was still there, I think, at 03.
Kurt.
Oh, it was Bolger with quarterback.
Because he put up some numbers with Bolger, too. You remember Mark Bolger with quarterback. Cause he put up some numbers with Bolgers too.
You remember Mark Bolger Ocho?
He put up some numbers with him.
Yeah.
And you guys listen, Mark ain't had to do much.
It was Mark Bolger wasn't it?
Yeah.
All that time.
He had all them boys over there on offense, man.
Man, the boys run that, hey, boy they run that speed out. Him, I, Riverdyke, boy they run that speed out on you. man. I'm over there on offense Beyonce said, what's y'all reaction to Dante Jones video? I didn't.
Dante Jones.
He said it was funny.
Okay, it was funny.
I don't know, I ain't see it.
Me neither, what is it?
I don't know.
We'll look at it, we'll try to get to it on,
when we on, tomorrow?
Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
tomorrow.
Hey, I so Joe is back tomorrow. Plus, Kyle Pierce is stopping by. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you guys for joining us for another
episode of Nightcap. Thank our special guest Clarissa Shields.
She fights on Saturday and Rayekwon from Wu Tang.
His new album is out.
What is it?
Hello.
Oh, Emperor's new clothes.
