Ocho, we knew this thing was going to be
a very daunting task
without Tyrese Halliburton, who is the
all-NBA
player, the all-star,
and the Pacers
led the game until the very end,
but the Celtics and
Drew Holiday gets a three-point play
on one end to give him a one-point lead,
strips the ball from Nembhard on the other end,
and hits two free throws.
And so they end up winning the game 114-111.
The Boston Celtics trailed much of the entirety of the game.
The last time they led until they took the lead for good,
they led 32-31.
I don't really know what else the Pacers can do, Ocho, because they can the lead for good. They led 32-31. I don't really know
what else the Pacers can do, Ocho,
because they can't play any better. Pascal
Siakam had 22 points.
Miles Turner
had 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Nemhard,
he had 32 points.
TJ McConnell came off the bench.
He gave you 23 points.
They had four guys with 20-plus points.
They shot 50% from the floor, but Boston wins the three-point line again.
Boston wins the free-throw line again, and that's the difference in the ballgame.
And plus, the Pacers had some untimely turnovers.
When you're playing a team that's better than you, there's nowhere around it.
Their five is better than your five you can dig back into the game when you bring your bench in because we know
the type of bench that the uh pacers possess right but the starting five from this for the celtics
are better than the starting five for the uh indiana pacers and you can't turn the ball over
oh joe yeah uh miles turner had five turnovers. If you look at the points off
a turnover, let me go to the team stats right quick.
I'll give you that. I'm going to let you chime in
and tell me what you thought.
Points
off turnover. Boston
had 20.
You're
going to give them 20 points off your turnovers.
You're going to lose the three-point line.
You lost. They got plus 33 from the three-point line. You lost.
They got their plus 33 from the three-point line.
They're plus, they shot, what, 12 more free throws.
They made six more free throws.
So that's 39 points.
They're better than you.
Well, when you throw in and you got 13 off their turnover, so seven.
So that's 46 points yeah that
you gave up paces so i i think it's going to be a sweep ocho i think this series is over yeah monday
and boston is going to have a a rest uh for an extended period of time for an opportunity to get
uh christoph brazingas back healthy what'd you take from the game tonight ocho i mean listen
first off the paces love run up and down, up and down,
up and down, up and down, up and down the court.
Yes, they only had five threes
tonight. Normally, you know,
I forgot, you might know the quote a little
better than me. You cut the head off a snake,
the rest of the body dies. Yes.
So I'm thinking, well,
they showed other than that
tonight. No
Halliburton tonight.
But again, everybody else stepped up
and played superior ball.
Like you said, they led most of the game
and the turnovers is what killed them.
The turnover, man, goddamn Nimhard,
man, was phenomenal.
Miles Turner was phenomenal.
Siakam was phenomenal.
The turnovers hurt. Yep. The turnovers hurt. But it was a good game. I was phenomenal. Siakam was phenomenal. The turnovers hurt.
Yep.
The turnovers hurt.
But it was a good game.
I was hoping.
I was hoping they could have held on
and won tonight's game.
But obviously, I think the Celtics were a little bit,
just a little bit too much.
And, I mean, their starting five is better.
They're better.
Than the Pacers' starting five.
And with the Athens, Tyler Halliburton with the Athens, the Tyler Halliburton.
Tyrese.
Tyrese Halliburton.
It makes it that much
more difficult,
but they played with
some heart tonight, man,
and showed that they could
almost get it done,
but it's just not enough.
I'm sure Pacer fans believe
they should be up 2-1.
They were in a very similar
situation in game one, had the
game one, and they smashed defeat
from the jaws of victory. And the
Knights game, they're up
eight points late in the fourth.
They're up as many as 18.
They're up by
eight in the fourth quarter. And the
turnovers and the mistakes
and the defensive assignments
leaving guys
you leave Al Horford for
a wide open three. You see he has
the three ball. Yes, he has the three ball
going. You can't continuously make
those mistakes.
It's the mistakes at the most
inopportune times because you can't
say all mistakes are not created equal.
If I turn the
ball over in the first quarter or if I throw a pick in the first quarter i could that's not the same as a pick to end the
game that's not the same as a pick late in the ball game that's not the same even though it's
still an interception and it goes on your it goes on you uh against you yeah but they're not the
same turnovers missed defensive assignments they don't weigh the same
they weigh more according to where we are in the course of the ball game right and that's uh when
i look at it and watch this game very very closely that was the difference in the ball game jason
tatum had it going tonight uh he had 36 12 or 23 5 or 10 he didn't shoot the free throws very well
i know he's very disappointed about that.
But he had an outstanding game.
He was 36, 10, and 8 with a steal and two blocks.
He must have watched the show.
He must have watched the show because we just talked about Jason Tatum
not showing up and Jalen Brown being the better player throughout,
not just this series, but the playoffs in general.
And all of a sudden, Jason Tatum said, hold my beer.
Yeah.
And came out and showed the hell out tonight.
Yeah.
J.P. didn't play bad.
He ain't going to have to play like that consistently.
Yeah.
Especially once you get to this next, once you get to this damn finals.
Yes.
Jalen Brown had 24 points.
He was 10 of 18, 1 of 5.
Derek White was 3 of 11, 2 of of eight five or six for the free throw line
holiday was four of ten he didn't shoot the three ball well he was perfect from the foul line played
outstanding defense when he absolutely needed to al horford was the difference in the ball game
because time after time he made timely three after timely three after timely three he's seven
of 12 from the three he had 23 23 points. And Jason Tatum has
36, 10, and 8. Almost a triple
double. But the difference in the ball game
and you look at the Pacers' bench,
you got 23 from McConnell.
You got a deuce from us. So you got
23, 25, 27.
You got 31 points from your
bench. You outscored them from the bench points.
31-4.
And that's how Pacers beat you.
They're able to bring guys off the bench.
I love T.J. McConnell's game.
He's tough. He can make
big-time shots. He's going to play outstanding
defense. Yes, he's undersized.
What he lacks and what
your physical traits, he more than
makes up with heart and desire
and determination. But I
thought the Pacers had this game i thought
they could make this a series uh i don't think there's anybody out there with the exception of
boston fans that don't think the pacers should be up to one right now boston fans like nah nah
blah you know but i believe they should be up to one uh and i the thing the thing is ojo when you
look at it people are saying rick car Rick Harlock should have called a timeout.
When they got that rebound,
he should have called a timeout. But I understand
why he didn't, because he didn't want
Boston to set up their defense.
A lot of times when you call a timeout,
you're going to allow a team to set a defense to you.
You let them regroup.
Everybody's helter-skelter. They're all
over the place. But give Holiday
credit. He's a strong guy.
And once he feels you can make contact with his lower body,
he's going to reach in with the poke.
And he got it out.
He made an outstanding play.
And so give him credit for that.
I don't have a problem with Carlisle not calling a timeout.
Maybe Nembhard needed to slow it down.
But I understand he's like, well, they're Helter Skelter.
They're dispersed. See, but I understand. He's like, well, they helped the skelter. They dispersed.
See, that clock running, you know,
how many times has Nimhard been in that situation
where the clock is going down?
Normally, the ball in that situation would be in someone else's hands.
Yeah, you hope it would have been in Halliburton's hand.
Halliburton's hand, yeah.
But think about it.
Nimhard knows that the clock, he's under the gun from the clock.
Guess who else knows that?
Holiday.
Holiday.
He knows he's got to do something suddenly also.
So now he gets to play like, oh, you got to make a move here.
And once you go behind your back, well, I know you want to go in that direction.
That's the reason you put the ball behind your back.
You no longer want to go in the direction with your left hand.
You put it behind your back and try to get to your shooting hand.
He knows that.
He reaches in.
He gets the poke out, and he made an outstanding play.
Like I said, I don't know if the Pacers can play any better
than what they played tonight.
I don't see it, Ocho.
I don't see it.
You got four guys with at least 20-plus points.
You shoot almost 51% from the floor.
The only thing is the three ball is killing you.
You're 5-22.
They're 23% from the three.
The Celtics are 35%, but they're 16-46.
So that's a plus 33 from the three-point line and they're plus six as far as
makes from the free throw line plus the 20 points that you get plus uh your minus seven you were
down in the uh uh points off turnover i just don't see how they play any better than what they played
tonight i mean the only thing they can do is get those four individuals that played very well tonight.
They keep that same momentum going to the next game.
And then be able to hit the threes and eliminate the turnovers.
And then they'll be fine.
Well, Boston State, what happens when we make our threes?
We're only 35%.
We take more, make more than anybody in the NBA this year.
Yeah, it's tough
it's tough um you lose hallie who's you know the heartbeat of your team he's the guy that gets it
all going he's supposed to calm you down but we saw what happened to him in game one because what
we laud him for during the regular season he had a couple of gaffes in late in game one that ended
up costing them the game and in this game here they had a couple of miscues uh blown defensive
assignment um turnovers late that ended up costing them the game as well but give the celtics credit
the credit celtics go on the road in a very hostile environment and find a way to claw the
victory 114 to 111 and they're one win away from going to the NBA Finals
to face the winner of the Mavericks and the Timberwolves series.
So give those guys credit.
Give Boston credit.
There's a reason why they won as many games as they did.
There's a reason why they're the number one overall seed.
They have two guys that made the All-Starstar game they have a first team all nba
selection and jason tatum uh derrick white is an outstanding because they can switch everything
they have out derrick white is an outstanding defensive guard so is holiday a big al can play
defense we know jt and and jb can switch everything so congratulations to them on a very hard-fought victory.
They go up 3-0 with a chance to close this thing out on Memorial Day.
Last night, the Mavs and the Wolves, Luka Magic.
I keep telling, I've been telling people,
I've been helping Luka for a minute.
The Mavs overcame an 18-point deficit.
Luka sealed the victory with a game-winning step-back,
three-pointer over the defensive player
of the year,
Rudy Gobert.
Luka finished the game
with another triple-double,
another 30-point triple-double also.
32 points,
13 assists,
10 rebounds.
Kyrie Irving,
20 points,
six assists,
four rebounds.
Kyrie had, what,
14 points in the third quarter.
Naz Reed,
the sixth man of the year,
led the Timberwolves with a career high.
23 points, 7 of 9 for 3.
Nobody's going to remember that
because he missed the last one
and it looked good from where I was sitting.
But where I was sitting, Ocho,
it looked good.
Again, Anthony Edwards and Carl Anthony Towns
struggled.
They scored 36 points on 33 shots.
Towns didn't play much in the fourth quarter. He was subbed
out and he didn't come back in.
During that time, Ant-Man checked
out of the game, 7-53.
He came back with the
5-51 mark. He was in
the tunnel, receiving oxygen.
Yeah, yeah. Maddow had to get some oxygen
in there. That's it. He had to get some oxygen.
Well, he said he wanted Kyrie.
Yeah, and you know what happened when you got to get Kyrie.
And you got to lock up
and try to play defense on
arguably the best,
one of, if not the best, handlers of the
ball that has ever played this game.
So it's been a tall task.
It's been a very tall feat
for Ant-Man. And because he's had to cover
Kyrie and has chosen to take on that task,
it's affected him offensively
on the offensive end of the game.
And shit, he's 22 and he's tired.
So what did that tell you?
Would it take to cover him?
You can't get tired at 22.
Shit.
Yeah, all right.
Hold on.
Was Kobe tired at 22?
Yeah.
Was Jordan tired at 22?
Yeah. Was LeBron tired at 22? was Jordan tied at 22? was LeBron tied at 22?
they took the best
for the most part
there was no Kyrie Irving back then
and that's no disrespect to anybody else
they had guys that could go get buckets
did they have guys that could go get buckets?
see you can't look at somebody
just handling the ball
you always had that
so you got to
try to neutralize him on one end
while still giving... But see,
that's what makes the guys great.
Yeah, so. When LeBron was in his prime,
he could take a Kevin Durant,
try to hold him under what he would normally
get while still giving you what
I'd normally give you on the other end.
And Michael, and Kobe, and the big
guys. When you saw David Robinson have to go up against Olajuwon,
Olajuwon have to go up against Shaq,
Shaq have to go up against other centers.
You still got to try to neutralize them.
I got to try to shut you down,
keep you under what you normally do.
Because if you allow a guy to get what he normally does,
you ain't did nothing.
I mean, Ocho, if you play a DB,
and then, okay, you average, let's just say for the sake of argument you're averaging five six catches a game for like
85 90 yards he lets you get those numbers well what the hell have you done your job is to keep
ocho under that 85 90 yards i don't care about the catches i want you to keep them out of the yard i want you to keep them out of the end zone so yeah it's tough and if you go back and look the last three games ant
man hadn't shot the ball well why he had to guard jamal murray takes a lot out of your legs yeah he
had to guard kairi both games takes a lot out of your legs yeah if i'm them i put him on somebody
else that's not gonna to... Because I need
him on the other end, Ocho. Yeah, you do.
I need him on the other end. Especially when
Cat's not playing well.
Cat wasn't playing well.
I mean, Rudy Gobert.
Rudy Gobert. How do you say
his last name the right way? I don't want to say it wrong.
Gobert. Rudy Gobert.
Yes. Gobert. He's not an offensive
threat, obviously. If he's under the rim, if he's by the rim, if he's in the post, he is.
You know, J. McDaniels.
Yeah, young bull only had two points.
Huh?
Young bull only had two points.
Man, that man dealing with Luka.
How many points you thought he'll give you?
I mean, come on.
Come on, man.
You know, so, I mean, it's difficult. And I think they need to make some adjustments,
some tactical, schematical adjustments,
going to the next game against the Mavs,
because we need Ant-Man to be Ant-Man.
And it's hard for Ant-Man to be Ant-Man
and give us what we want from the offensive standpoint
when he's having to chase Kyrie around.
That's unfair.
Even if he did call for it.
It's unfair.
No, but see, normally, what your best player does is he takes probably the weakest offensive player on the other end.
So, therefore, he can rest.
Therefore, he can rest.
Right.
And not exert so much energy.
I mean, look, it's a special type of person.
We've seen Kobe does it.
Kobe wanted that assignment.
But if you go back and look at Jordan, when they played Magic in 91,
Jordan took Magic.
Magic had a triple-double, and the Lakers won the game.
The game, games two through five, the Bulls won the next four games.
Yeah.
Scottie Pippen took Magic.
Ah.
So, bingo.
The proof is in the pudding.
Get your best player off of Kyrie.
It was mainly because of the size differential.
Magic is 6'9 and a half.
Jordan is 6'6.
So, Magic just going to back it.
Magic to post. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah6. So Magic just going to back it. Magic
composed. Yeah.
So Magic just going to back it out and shoot over the top
of you. But they put Scottie Pippen
on him. Scottie pick him up
94 feet. Let's try to wear him down.
But you look at Kobe.
Kobe always...
Kobe ain't know any better. Kobe always
wanted...
If a guard is your best player,
Colby want that assignment.
Yeah.
I mean, LeBron used to have to take,
you know,
you go back and look at LeBron
when they played the Bulls
the year that Derrick Rose won the MVP.
Yeah.
LeBron took D. Rose.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Before post, before the injury rose?
Post, yeah.
That explosion?
LeBron took it.
Go back and look at the San Antonio Spurs.
Tony Parker.
They lost the first game.
LeBron took Tony Parker.
Basically, especially in the fourth quarter,
he locked him down the rest of the game.
Wait, I want to know what the results of the LeBron
and Derrick Rose when he was in his prime.
4-1.
4-1?
Yeah, I think they went 4-1.
Because the Bulls that year had the best record.
Right.
I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on good company.
The podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next.
In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary.
We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold,
connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen.
What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there's so many stories out
there. And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content,
the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology,
entertainment, and sports collide.
And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space
and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets.
Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second.
I'm going to ask...
I'm Leon Nafak, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran-Contra,
you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal
that captivated the nation
nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran-Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And still, you have to, like I said, when you're the offensive guy, you try to like, you're like Bird, they're like, okay, Bird,
we're going to give you the worst defensive guy
because we need your offense.
Right.
It don't do me no good.
You shut that guy down and Bird give you eight points.
Bird need to give you them 25, 10, and 10.
That's what he needs to do.
Your offensive guys who you're counting on,
because you're going to the game.
I'm looking at, okay, I need JT to give me his average.
I need Jalen Brown to give me his average.
I need Derek White to give me his average. I need Jalen Brown to give me his average. I need Derek White to give me his average.
Now, Derek White knows that sometimes his offense is going to suffer
because he has to guard Tyrese Halliburton.
He has to guard one of the better players on the offensive end,
especially when it's a guard.
So he understands that.
That's why you have JT.
That's why you have JB that can pick up the slack.
But when you have guys,
if Cat is not picking up the slack,
where are you going to get it?
You can't count.
I ain't counting on Rudy Gobert
to ever give me 20 points
in the playoffs.
So I'd be foolish to think that.
So you're saying Cat,
you're saying Ant,
if you take Kyrie
and you can somewhat neutralize him,
we know that's going to take
some sap out of your legs.
And Kat, I need you to give me about 30.
Yeah.
That's what it comes down to.
And see, that's what makes them so unique
is that you got Luka and you got Kyrie.
And you see what they did.
The last two shots, Kyrie hit a corner three.
They made it a two-point game.
They get a rebound,
they call a timeout, and now Lucas
says, may I have this
dance, Mr. Gobert? Listen, I'm
tripping. Why would Rudy Gobert even be out there
in a situation like
that? I know he's
the defensive player of the year. Now, the defensive
player of the year, he's great at being
when he's down in the post.
Yes, he's a rim protector. he's down in the post. Yes, he's a rim protector.
Not out there by the three. They need
somebody with a little bit better lateral
movement and quickness.
That should have been Cat. I'm not saying
he wouldn't have done Cat like that because Lugo
would probably do 98% of the NBA
players like that. Whoever bring him
out there by the three.
But just someone that
would give him a better chance.
Once he created that separation with that step back,
it was a wrap.
It was a wrap.
Ocho, they're down two points.
Why do you care if Luka gets the layup?
Now we're tied and we get the ball back.
Yeah.
And then now you got the last shot.
So if anything, I would... We're going to overtime. Yeah. And then now you got the last shot. So if anything,
I would...
We're going to overtime.
Exactly.
I would apply pressure.
Don't even worry about the three.
Don't even worry about the three.
Pressing.
Pressing.
Either make him...
Let's...
You know, in that situation...
I'm going to get the ball
out of his hand, Ocho.
Get the ball...
I was just getting ready to say that.
Let somebody else beat you in that situation.
Other than Kyrie and Luka are not shooting that last shot.
If P.J. Washington want to take that shot,
if Derrick Jones want to take that shot,
if anybody else wants to take that last shot,
I'm going to live with that.
But Kyrie and Luka, I'm going to blitz Kyrie.
Excuse me.
I'm going to blitz Luka
I'm going to trap him
I got to make him give it up
so can we blame the coach on that
as soon as the pick
as soon as the pick happened
as soon as they did the pick
and the switch happened
and god damn Rudy
ended up on Luka
somebody else should have trapped
right away
right away
so that's the coach's fault
it's the coach's fault
that's why the Wolves lost
that's why I'm blaming
or you gotta say
Jay no
under no circumstances
are you
are you giving up on
don't switch it
oh don't
no hell nah
don't switch it
because once you switch
they gotta communicate that
because here's the thing though Ocho
once you switch it
now Rudy Gobert's on Luka
so you tell him
don't switch
nope
if anything say hey when they come with that let's bless him let's trap him Now Rudy Gobert's on Luka. So you tell him don't switch. Nope.
If anything, say, hey, when they come with that, let's bless him.
Let's trap him.
Rudy, you come with the trap.
Hey, Jaden, we're going to trap him.
We're going to make him give the ball up.
Damn, man.
And then I'm trying to figure out why the hell Rudy Gobert's on the court for the last shot.
What the hell he going to do?
You're not going to throw it to him.
Dang.
It's only three seconds.
Why was Cat on the bench?
Help me understand.
I asked that.
I'm sure he's not happy.
I think he'd have been
he'd have been happy
had they won
even though it's difficult
because it's like
I'm one of their best
I'm one of the two best players
on the team.
Right.
Offensively.
Offensively at that.
Period.
And I'm not in the game
in the fourth quarter
because I think he checked out
with 840 to go in the game
and he didn't check back in. game in the fourth quarter. Because I think he checked out with 840 to go in the game.
And he didn't check back in.
Even on the last shot.
Whose decision is that?
Is that the coach?
Is that him?
Or is there an injury that we don't know about?
No, it's not an injury.
But I think the thing is that Naz Reed, that checked in.
If I'm not mistaken, I think Naz Reed checked in for it.
And in the process of that, Naz was playing playing well so I can't sub him back out
and you want to keep Rudy on the court
for defensive purposes
so now
it's nip tuck ball game
and so I can
see both sides of the coin
I got it I got it now
stick with the hot hand
Naz ended up
with 23 points.
Yeah.
You know?
And he had a great look at that three.
I mean, from where I was sitting, I'm like, damn.
Derrick Jones, what are you thinking?
Why are you coming?
Why would you come?
Why would you come to double Ant?
Ant's struggling shooting the ball.
Right.
And give Naz Reed, who's stroking it from the three,
a wide open look at it.
He did everything but put it down.
Because it looked good.
You see that?
Yeah.
Went right in and came back at.
But, yeah, it's tough.
It's tough on Rudy.
Because when people look at the defensive player of the year,
they're like, well, damn,
why everybody don't want to get
the switch on you?
Why everybody want to pick on you?
Because he's a rim protector.
He's not a perimeter defender.
And he does, I mean, bro,
how much lateral quickness
you think you're going to have
at seven foot three?
At seven foot.
Not much,
unless you got damn Wim Wim Yama.
No, yes.
That's it.
And so when you look at it
and you look at it and that
he's not like an
athletic Akeem
Olajuwon. He's not an athletic
David Robinson. Guys that had
great lateral movement, had tremendous
change of direction. But I'm not so sure.
But when Luka start dancing like that,
you at his mercy. You hope.
You're like, Lord, please don't let this ball
go in. Please. Because he's going to get the shot
off. You're not stopping
it. Unless you
understand, but you're
not thinking in that moment.
I don't care if he beat me to the basket.
Now we're tied. The only
way I can lose this game is if I
let Luka hit a three.
That's the only way we can lose. We can't lose
this game in regulation if Luka lays this ball up and he hits only way we can lose. We can't lose this game in regulation
if Luka lays this ball up
and he hits the two-point shot
because we're two
and we got, what,
three seconds left in the ball game
and we got the ball at our end of the court
because we called timeout.
The only way we lose
if I let him get off a three.
So once Luka starts dancing
and I got him out of position,
now it just all depends.
Well, if I got a fish, the one thing, Ocho,
you don't say you don't like the fish,
but the one thing us fishermen know,
once we get a big one on the line, we can't let him off.
We got to bring him in.
So once you get the fish, I got to take it to the market.
Or else what?
How many times you heard somebody say,
man, I had one today, but that joker got back.
Lucas said, I can't let you get back, Rudy.
So he started dancing on it.
Oh, no, I'm back.
Oh, you right there?
Well, here, take this with you.
Hold that.
And hit it, too.
That's the thing.
Once you get the big one, Ocho, you got to keep it.
You can't give it.
Hey, you can't hold it too tight because he'll snap your line.
You can't give him too much because he'll spin you out.
Hey, I got a big one, don't you?
I got a big one.
Hold him.
Hold him right there.
Don't let him go.
Man, that's crazy, man.
I'm mad because, listen,
with confidence,
listen, I said with confidence
before this series even started,
oh, man, the Wolves got this.
I said the Wolves got this.
I said, ain't no way in hell ain't losing this series. You know, I'm thinking, shit, I got the Wolves got this. I said the Wolves got this. I said, ain't no way in hell
ain't losing this series.
You know, I'm thinking,
shit, I got the Wolves in the finals.
Shoot, I said the Wolves in seven.
And right now we down 0-2.
0-2.
And the thing is,
but see those two-
Wait, where the next game at?
Where the next game at?
In Dallas.
Next two in Dallas.
Oh, hell no.
And, oh, Joe, the thing that concerned me most is that those two guards where man I said bro ain't nobody stopping Luka Luka
led the league in scoring yeah you don't you're not you just hope Luka missed he gonna get whatever
shot he wants whenever he wants unless you take the ball out of his hand.
If you trap him, you'll give it up.
You'll make the right play.
Right.
But if you let him play one-on-one, he's going to cook your ass.
Yeah.
Kyrie's another one.
You let Kyrie play one-on-one, you're okay.
Yeah.
He too good.
Yeah.
He too good.
The guys are too good.
And now you see Gafford playing unbelievable.
Derek Lively II playing unbelievable. PJ now you see Gafford playing unbelievable. Derek Lively, the second
playing unbelievable. PJ is
knocking down timely threes.
Bro,
watching Dallas,
the best move was Nico Harris
when he traded for Daniel Gafford
when he got PJ Washington.
Now that made them a big, formidable
team. They can play defense.
They'll challenge you at the rim.
Look, Luka and Kyrie are not really known as defenders,
but they're trying their asses off now.
And you can tell it's close to the NBA finals,
and they can taste it.
We're two games away.
Those guys are digging in now.
They're digging in.
Ain't no, you know, Luka normally,
you get ahead of him, Luka just lets you go ahead.
Luka's like, uh-uh.
Nah, nah, nah, nah.
He's never going to be no great on-ball defender.
Right.
His defense is busting your ass on the other end on the offensive end.
That's his defense.
Right, right.
Because he tires you out, so you won't be able to do anything against him
when it's his turn to guard you.
But Minnesota got their work cut out for them. Because
unlike
Denver that relied so much on
Jokic when Murray struggled,
they still got Kyrie.
And Kyrie, if any point in time,
can go nuclear. He can go
get you 20 points in the quarter. He can go
get you 40.
And he pick
and choose when he want to turn it on.
That's the crazy thing about it.
Him and Luka took the game over in the fourth quarter.
They took it over. They're more
than capable of doing that. They got two outstanding
ball handlers on the court.
If one of them goes out,
either guy can handle the ball. Kyrie's
been amazing.
Luka's Luka.
What do you say? He's Luka. He's been in. Luka. Luka's Luka. I mean, what do you say? He's Luka.
Yeah.
He's been in the league six years.
He's a five-time All-NBA selection.
So I don't really know what else to say about it.
He's gotten five All-Star games, five first-team All-NBA selections.
So I don't really know what else you want me to say about it.
Yeah.
Everybody knows what he is.
Oh, that's crazy.
And he said, I might have something to say about that face of the NBA. Oh, that's crazy. And he, hey, he said,
I might have something to say
about that face of the NBA.
Let me get this title.
I don't know about that.
He don't have that personality.
He don't have that personality
or that charisma,
that aura.
Ant-Man got it.
That's why.
You know what?
Matter of fact,
I'm doubling down, man.
Wolves coming back.
Wolves coming back.
We're going to win. We're going to win two in Dallas. Then we're coming back homeves coming back We gonna win
We gonna win
Two in Dallas
Then we coming back home
And we gonna
We gonna steal
We gonna steal the show
Okay
We gonna steal the show
And I know you gonna see this
I know you gonna see this
Let's go boy
Let's go
Alright
Uh
Boston's up 3-0
Dallas up 2-0 Going home We'll see tomorrow Can they make it 3-0 Dallas up 2-0
going home
we'll see tomorrow can they make it 3-0

keeps players from being wealthy after their careers.
Draymond, Draymond Green, on the Shaq podcast,
the big podcast, the fines, to me, don't make sense.
When you talk about how hard as we work to accumulate wealth,
coming from situations most people never make it out of,
and then you get fined, the way we get fined, it's actually not set up for us to be wealthy
after we're done playing.
If I do something wrong, I lose $100,000, man.
And it takes my mom four years when I was growing up to make $100,000.
And if I lose that in a night because of what?
The referee got mad at me or he didn't like what I said.
So I lose $5,000 like that on a tech.
Draymond's techs and fives
have run around $900,000.
Suspension have cost him $3 million.
And Draymond has made
$153 million in his career.
So that's around 4% of his career
post-tax earnings
that have gone to the league.
I like what he's talking about.
I like what he's talking about.
I like the message
is just the wrong messenger. Yeah. I like the message is just the wrong messenger.
Yeah.
I love the message
is just the wrong messenger.
And the fact that the matter is
the fine system
and the structure that they have
with the fines,
that's not what make you go broke.
It's the lifestyle
that the athletes are living
outside of the game of basketball.
Yeah.
The multiple cars,
the multiple houses,
the jewelry,
the clothes.
Obviously now, you know, everybody is a fashionista.
Yeah.
And we're not going to talk about it.
We're going to talk about the multiple women.
You know, and y'all don't deal with just anybody.
Y'all deal with the cream of the crop, the cream of the crop that they're only dealing with you because you got money anyway.
And you got to understand that you sit in them $20,000, $30,000, you buy them houses, you buy them cars.
Yeah, you get the LLF.
Huh? Back in the day, you get the
nails done. You get the hair.
You get the nose, the fingernails,
and the hair. You get that
done, you were straight. Now they want
LLCs.
The basketball players, boy,
they are dealing with the finest
of the finest.
They deal with multiple of them at once.
And that in itself is an excessive bill to deal with the finest that there are.
You always notice, you ever scroll through Instagram and see all these fine women always dressed in jeans.
They got Birkin bags.
They got G-wagons.
And it ain't a dude in sight?
Who you think supplying?
Man, don't get me started.
That ain't none of my business.
Let's not put that business
out there in the street.
No, we ain't.
We ain't calling no name.
We ain't calling no name,
but they know, yeah.
Yeah, there's only a select fuel
on this planet
that can maintain that,
which is one of the reasons
why 90%
of them as well, when they done playing, go broke as well.
Now, say, with Draymond, now what NBA players need to do, you want to learn how to save
your money?
You want to set yourself up?
Listen, the NBA, they don't need to set nothing up for you guys so you're wealthy after you
done playing.
Come on and holler at your boy.
No. I got a five-year plan that'll get you right. I got a five-year plan that'll get you right.
I got a 10-year plan that'll get you right.
And I'll tell you what to do with your money after football.
How about this here?
I mean, basketball.
Basketball.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
How about this here?
How about stop kicking people in the private?
How about stop choking people?
Who did that?
How about stop punching your teammates? did that at what point you talk about
draymond oh yeah i forgot about that i thought that's what we were talking about yeah oh i was
oh i was talking about the the fine stuff and and them not the nba not having stuff set up for the
players to have money at the end well listen getting listen, getting fined is one thing.
That is, I've said it all the time, NFL has fines, the NBA has fines.
To me, fining you, fining you is the whip.
You get where I'm going with this?
Yes.
Okay, how do we keep these motherfuckers in line?
You take their money because how you keep them in line, what they think they value most if you don't value the money
you play for the love of the game
you're going to continue to do what you always do
and I think Draymond
is one of those individuals
he's going to always stay true to himself
and I think
if you take away that edge
that he has
that Dennis Rodman-like type, not persona, he's not that extreme with it.
But if you take away that edge that he has, I think it changes him as a player.
Does that make sense?
You understand what I'm saying?
Oh, Joe, you got to have rules and regulations. There's a reason
why we have speed limits.
My grandparents always say, boy, give them
a choice to do right or wrong. And there's
no one there to hold you accountable for the wrong.
More times than not, people would do
wrong. And I'm not just talking about the
malicious and the malice things.
So if there were no rules
in the NBA, how hard would you think
somebody would file? What do you think somebody would fight?
What do you think people would do?
You've got to have rules.
It's just like the NFL.
If the NFL didn't have a dress code, I guarantee you, y'all would come out there with your shirt cut off.
Pretty soon, guys would be calling DoorDash and ordering food on the sideline.
You know that I know that.
That's how we are.
And you're going to come out there like an all-tournament team.
One guy, you'll have have on the home jersey.
The other, TJ, was going to come out there with the visitor's jersey.
We've got to have rules.
Right, right.
Yeah, yeah.
So what are we going to do about Draymond going upside Nurkic's head?
So what are we going to do about that?
So Adam Silver was supposed to say, you know what?
Back in the 80s, they played like that.
It's not the 80s.
Right.
I understand.
We saw all the big hits.
I played in the era where the big hit was applauded.
They put out, at the end of the year, they used to have what was called VHSs.
And then they had DVDs in which you could buy big hits jacked up
you can't play like that anymore
yeah you right
so if you don't want
all I had to do if I didn't want them to take my
$5,000 all I had to do
was tuck my jersey in all I had to do
was pull my socks up
I can't get mad because I'm
and I get it
I would say the same thing.
What does my socks have to do with anything, Commish?
Nothing.
What does my jersey?
I said, I'm playing the game.
So you want me, I get tackled.
So instead of me focused on the game,
all right, I got to make the next play,
what it was going to call.
You want me to reach down, pull my socks up,
tuck my jersey back in?
Come on, man.
And now you see why I ain't following them damn
rules? Now you see why sometimes
you know what? I was about fashion.
I'm not about fashion
in the street, but when it came to football, I'm trying
to look good. Why do you think I had an orange chin strap?
Why do you think sometimes I had a
black chin strap? I'm going to take that fine
every time. I'm going to take it every time
and I kept doing it to let them know
listen, I play this game like a little kid because I love it. When I played it in high school,
when I played in a little league, I wasn't making no money. The fact that you paying me
millions of dollars to play a child's game doesn't mean I'm going to change because you
have rules set in place that make no sense when I'm hurting nobody. And there's no malice intent behind it outside of a fashion statement.
Right.
Celebrating.
I saw the vision.
I saw the vision years ago.
I understood the entertainment value of it.
Yes.
I was the villain.
All the celebrating
that you were fighting me for,
now it's okay.
Now it's welcome.
Now somebody,
all of a sudden,
oh, now the NFL league office.
Now they get it.
Matter of fact,
I need to file a grievance
for all my damn
fine money back
for every celebration
that I had.
Well, I tell you what,
you let me know
if you get it back
because I damn sure
going to be right behind you
to file a paper work
and get all mine
for my socks
and my jersey being out.
But I just say the thing, Ochoa,
it's like, look,
we know this.
If you do not set rules and regulations,
it's just like work.
If you don't have a dress code at work,
man, Joe gonna come out there
with shorts on.
Somebody gonna come out there
with some Timbs
and a working body.
That's why, hey,
what's the dress code?
We establish the dress code and then we work it accordingly. Because if you don why, hey, what's the dress code? We'll establish the dress code
and then we work it accordingly.
Because if you don't,
look, I remember now,
look at the way they go to church.
Now, you know,
they say God say,
except anyway,
man, come on now.
Yeah.
Come on now.
Depending on what church you go to,
boy, it's a fashion show, boy.
Boy, it is a fashion show.
Man, they coming up there
with leggings.
Come on now. God ain't trying to see that but i am
come on with it oh come on come on but i but i get it but draymond look i understand draymond
i mean some sometimes i think draymond thinks they're picking on him. But Draymond, look at what you're doing, bro. Yeah.
Look at what you're doing. You can't
keep kicking people, hitting people,
and then when they find you, you're talking about, well,
they're not setting me up. No, you're
not setting yourself up.
Because if you didn't do
those things... Yeah, Draymond
is the enforcer, man. Like
on the hockey team, Draymond
the enforcer.
But here's the thing, though.
The NBA don't need
to enforce it right now
because if you enforce it,
they're going to take
$3 million.
His suspensions have cost him
$3 million.
Yeah.
He's going to make it back up.
He's going to make it back up.
So, I get it.
I get it.
It's frustrating.
Bro, you done made $153 million. So, guess what? You know what? I ain't finna get the NBA no more with my money. I get it. It's frustrating, bro. You done made 153 million.
So guess what?
You know what?
I ain't going to get the NBA no more.
My money.
Hey,
ride it out.
You got probably five,
another five years,
make another hundred plus million dollars.
Get,
get,
get as close as you can to 300 million.
Sell off in the sunset.
Go sit at the desk at,
well,
I don't know. I think NBC has it now, go sit at the desk at, well, I don't know,
I think NBC has it now.
If Charles gonna keep
the TNT crew together,
if he gonna keep that together,
but y'all,
you work great there.
I mean, you're unbelievable.
I mean, he's great at his job.
I mean, he's great at it.
Oh, yeah.
But you can't,
you can't have
that kind of behavior.
And then when you get fired,
talk about, well,
they ain't trying to let me be wealthy
after I'm done.
No, after you done
is while you're playing.
That's why you're playing.
That's how you set yourself up
for while you're done.
Exactly.
So I understand,
but like you said,
Draymond might be the wrong messenger to deliver this message. Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream
gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen.
What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core.
It's this idea that there are so many stories out there.
And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content,
the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide.
And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the
most crowded of
markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts.
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Rich Paul says the focus should be on AD, not LeBron at this point.
In a Friday interview with Chris Haynes, Rich said LeBron has not involved himself
in the team's ongoing search for a new head coach.
He added, in his opinion, the Lakers should probably more focused on Anthony Davis than LeBron at this point.
Do you agree?
I mean, yeah, most definitely.
LeBron said it last year before the season started.
Out of his own mouth, this is AD's team.
LeBron is older now, even though he's still efficient in all that he does,
offensively and defensively for the Lakers, but it's AD's team.
So from this point on, Lakers front office, GM, Mr. Buss, Mr. Palenka,
should focus on AD being the focal point.
Right.
That's pretty much it.
I'm not sure if LeBron is going to be there.
Obviously, it's... He ain't going nowhere.
You don't think so? Hell no.
Who built
a $100 million house and didn't leave?
If you built a $20 million
in Miami, where you moving to, Ocho?
He's
building a $100 million house.
Right. I have a question.
Sure. I have a question. He's building a $100 million house, Right. I have a question. Sure. I have a question.
He's building a $100 million house, right?
Yeah.
In LA.
Yeah.
But when it comes to someone like that,
with that kind of money,
that don't really mean nothing.
Honestly.
No.
I'm just saying.
We talk about LeBron.
We talk about LeBron James.
Now, if my cheap ass is building a $100 million anything, I'm for the. We talk about LeBron. We talk about LeBron James. Now, if my cheap ass is billing $100 million anything,
I'm for the uproot, not.
Chance Star, that's exactly where I'm going.
Well, you and I both know we ain't billing $100 million nothing.
Me and you together can't bill $100 million nothing.
Hey, you right about that.
But I'm just hypothetical speaking as if we had that kind of money.
We do 10%.
We can do 10% of that, Ochoa,
but we can't do the whole thing.
No, no, no.
We can't do the whole thing.
Listen.
Show came.
I don't even know for me.
Now, I probably like,
if I had like good money,
I'd probably spend,
I'd probably spend 15, 20.
If I had a couple of hundred million dollars.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
If I got a couple of hundred million dollars,
three, four hundred million dollars. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If I got a couple hundred million dollars, three, four hundred million dollars,
yeah, yeah, I'll buy a $20 million house.
But I mean, to buy a $100 million house,
you got to have a bill, a billy or something.
Yeah, you got to be moving.
And then you got to know you got
20, 30 million coming in every year.
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
And that's what I tell people.
Imagine what the upkeep in the taxes is
on something like that.
Hold on, especially in LA.A. of all places.
Yeah.
If you notice, a lot of people, a lot of people that have a lot of money, they live in Florida.
They have Vegas.
They have places that have no or low state taxes.
State taxes.
They spend half of their time where there's not a whole lot of taxes.
Because you figure you make that kind of money. Because I saw somebody
they put up what Jalen Brunson
makes and what
by the time he paid federal
and state and FICA and
all the taxes,
man, they take over half. They take 14
million of it's 26. God
damn. That's what I said.
I don't mind
paying my fair share, but damn, I think I don't mind paying my fair share but damn I think I'm paying
somebody else's fair share
that's what I be thinking I be like oh wait
whoa
14
14
but listen and that's
another thing I don't mean to jump
to piggyback back on what
Draymond was talking about.
But, you know,
the numbers that go across
that tick at the bottom,
boy, it's different now.
That shit go fast now.
Well, you all imagine,
whatever you see,
take 50% off that.
Yeah, right away.
Okay, 50% off that.
Okay, your agency,
that's another 5%.
Three, three or four.
Three to five.
Now, if you're in Hollywood,
they take 10 to 20%.
So now,
a $20 million
is down to 10.
The agency get that cut.
That's probably 1 to 2.
So now you're down to 8.
8.
Well,
if you're in Hollywood,
you're living a life now.
Oh, yeah.
You ain't living in no one bedroom,
you know.
You want to go get a big house.
Well, I ain't not getting $3,000 of money anyway.
Anything like that, $45,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 a month,
you probably spending some good money.
It doesn't take money long to go.
Oh, no.
And it goes fast.
It don't take money long to go.
It goes fast.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I just to the point now Ojo I say you know what
and I just
had a meeting with my financial guy
he's like Shannon you're at the point
now
you probably should enjoy yourself a little more
hmm
he's like if you see something you're like get it
yeah
he said you know I'll
keep like I don't think that's a good purchase
but at what point in time do you stop doing for everybody else and do one thing for yourself
come on man but marvin my thing is i love like being able to do things for my brother for my
sister to go get them a car or to have my sister like, okay, you take care of LA.
I just, what I need you to do,
you're going to make this amount.
Hey, I got to go out of town.
I need you to come watch the dogs for two weeks.
My kids to be able to help them.
But they do a great job.
I can honestly say my kids,
they don't really bother me about money
because they already know, Ocho.
I've told them, I'm last option.
I'm not first choice.
They've done a great job. So I know when they option. I'm not first choice. Yeah.
They've done a great job.
So I know when they call.
Oh, it's serious.
But I already know.
I know how the conversation go.
Hey, dad, what's up?
Yeah, I'm good.
What's going on?
No, I just called to see how you was doing.
I'm good.
And normally when they really want to do something, it's their FaceTime.
They always do. Normally my kids, they don't don't FaceTime my daughter she's always FaceTiming
but the other two if they need
something
hey dad how you doing I'm good man good
yeah I watched
the pod that was a good one there I liked that one
so okay
bro stop short talking
to me man what you need how much youing me, man. What you need?
How much you need?
I know it's something.
You need something.
My daughter the same way.
So I already know, Ocho.
But that's my thing.
I love working and helping other people.
Because the people that help me, you know, my mom, take care of my mom.
I'm able to take care of my mom. My brother and sister like i said they kind of like raised me because you
know my grandfather and my grandfather my grandfather was like had gotten up and he
wasn't really old but he had had a heart attack he'd had a stroke so he wasn't the same and then
once my grandfather died you know so my brother and sister kind of raised me. Yeah. And so, me, that's
my thing, and I look at what,
how God has blessed me,
so I'm just
like, man,
but I don't really want anything,
Ocho, I don't. Well,
you know what?
When I think about my situation,
I like,
obviously, I like working, but I don't even call it work, but the situation. I like, obviously, I like working,
but I don't even call it work.
But the thing I got,
listen, I got 38 jobs.
Well, 39.
I got 39.
And none of it feels like work
because it's all things that I enjoy doing.
It's all things that I enjoy doing.
And again, I never buy nothing for myself either.
I'm always about blessing.
Going to restaurants, tipping,
making sure rail is good,
making sure my kids are good. Those I have kids from, making sure rail is good, making sure my kids are good.
Those I have kids from making sure they're good.
That's it.
My mom and my grandma gone, huh?
Yeah.
I have no, that's all I have.
I have nothing else to live for outside of obviously my kids, the missus, and making sure those I have kids from are good as well.
Outside of that, what am I doing?
What am I going buying high-end shit for?
What am I driving a goddamn Ferrari
or Lamborghini for?
I'm done with the sports car.
I'm on cruise control.
I'm on old school.
I'm on cruise control right now.
Dude, I just
want to keep
having fun. I'm going to keep i just want to keep having fun i'm going to
keep working doing stuff here and there that i enjoy doing well i can i can't sleep because
somebody be calling me who you're laughing in the background ash yeah i had an idea we were uh
she like you know what?
I say,
no,
I don't want to know.
You got another idea.
You got another idea.
Yeah.
But that's,
that's me,
Ocho.
I do.
I mean, I love that.
I love being able to tell my brother.
And he's like,
man,
hey,
bro,
you've been so good to me.
I'm good,
bro.
No.
Yeah.
You're going to go get this.
I've already told,
I've already called the people.
Yeah.
Shelly's already taken care of it.
Go there, drop your truck off, get whatever've already called the people. Yeah. Shelly's already taking care of it. Go there,
drop your truck off, get whatever you want on the lot, and drive
it home. That's what I'm talking about.
I'm going to try that.
I'm going to try that.
He's like, hey.
But you know, I'm saying this like, and my
sister, my sister is
nothing, you know, because I've always like,
you know, like I said, my brother doesn't work anymore.
So I took over all the responsibility. I said,
whatever bill that comes to that house,
don't call him and bother him.
He got other stuff to worry about.
And so, same
thing with my sister. My mom, hey,
whatever she need, don't.
My mom, see, everybody, they don't really call.
My brother called me if he needs something.
But most of the time, they go through, the kids
normally call Shelly first.
But so I know if they call
me,
I know they kind of like really need it.
Because they don't call her for, you know, little stuff,
$2,500, $5,000.
They'll call her for that. If they call me,
I already know it's going to hurt.
I already know it's going to hurt I already know it's going to hurt
yeah
it's going to be like I'm like whoa whoa
what we need that for
I'm like whoa damn
y'all might need to still come
start working for me tell my daddy you hired us
oh hell no
y'all ain't been to work for me
I got a
camp full of
I ain't, listen, you know, I got a, I got a, I got a camp full of them.
I ain't,
I ain't,
but that,
that ain't no sir.
25,
5,000 who?
American dollars?
Oh yeah,
yeah.
I already,
like I said,
I already know
when they,
when they really,
when they call me,
I already know
it's going to hurt
a little bit.
Yeah.
So,
but that,
at this point in time,
Mocho,
it used to be like,
at this, like, like whatcho, it used to be like, at this,
like,
like what?
I don't really buy anything.
And so,
I said like,
you know what?
I'm saving all this money
and I do save.
I save a lot of my money.
Yeah.
It's going to go to them anyway
and they not going to be,
they probably not going to be
as meticulous
as I am.
I'm trying to set up about
three generations i told him i got three generations i got y'all i got the grandkids
if i'm fortunate enough to be around my grandson kid yeah after that y'all got it now y'all can
blow it if you want to and go back to where you were but yeah that's on y'all. Because, you know, tough times make tough men.
Tough men create easy times.
Easy time create weak people.
Yeah.
Yeah. My kids won't be what I was because the times was completely different.
Completely. So private school
and indoor plumbing
and everything taken care of.
You have people coming in
and cooking for you.
You go into the best restaurants.
You order $30 and $40 steaks
and you're 10, 11 years old.
It's different than when I came up.
So I view things
through a different prism than what they do.
But I just hope they appreciate it once I'm gone.
I mean, it's hard to appreciate something like when it's here.
But I just hope when I'm gone, they appreciate what I did and how I tried to set them up so they can pass it on down the line.
Because I don't ever want my family that sharp name to ever be what it was
was right that's my whole goal
is to like set them up
and hopefully they appreciate that
and they set their kids up and
the other kids and so forth and so on so that's
my goal
I like it during last night's multicast
he mistakenly said Rich Paul said
LeBron James would decline his player option
and become a free agent, which is no surprise
because
he wants to keep the pressure on him. He wants them to know
he wants them to know that, hey,
I got options,
so don't get carried away.
That's why he normally signs
two years plus an option
because he's always going to give himself an out.
He always wants to keep the organization feet to the fire
as far as, are you doing everything you possibly can
to win a championship?
Because if you're not, I'm going to go somewhere
where they are.
Ooh, that's a good one.
That's tough. Listen, everything Lebron and his team have done has
always been strategic yeah there's always a method behind their madness which i which is why they're
so successful not only on the court but off the court so exactly what they're doing i have no idea
you know you know they i'm not sure who the brains behind, who's the mastermind behind everything that they've done to this point.
The Lakers or LeBron?
LeBron.
Oh, well, you know, Maverick.
Maverick handles TV and the movie aspect of it.
Randy is the chief of staff.
Anything that moves, cars, flights,
going to hotels, He handles all that.
And then Rich is
the on-field,
the on-court.
LeBron is surrounded by a great
team. Maverick does what he
does. Randy does what he does.
Rich does what he does.
Savannah does what she does.
Which allows him
his mind to stay free and just play basketball.
Damn.
And it's like,
nobody really knows what's going to happen because unless LeBron says it,
Rich can come out and talk,
Rich can come out and say things.
He can,
he can say certain things that put pressure on the Lakers to make them
think he's going to leave or make them think he's going to do something. Obviously this tactic to put pressure on the Lakers to make them think he's going to leave or make them think he's going
to do something. Obviously, this tactic to put
pressure on him
and bring in
another piece in, which is
what I think they would need.
Yeah.
Man, I was on the plane. I was just on the plane Friday. Uh, uh, man,
I was on the plane.
I was just on the plane.
Uh,
Friday,
Rich Paul,
this joker and comfort plus Betty.
Talk about man.
Hey,
I,
Hey,
I will 145 pounds.
I don't need no big old comfy seat.
Right.
You'll get your ass out of that little ass seat
any by the window.
I say, Rich, you need to stop being cheap.
Yeah, there you go.
Donald, I don't like where I need to aisle.
Yeah, because you want to sleep.
Your head against the window.
Instead of laying your head on somebody's shoulder.
What?
You'll get your damn head off me
until you're sleeping.
See, that's what happens when you find out.
Somebody probably be sleeping with their head
on your shoulder.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Nah.
Mind fall over?
No.
I told you,
I always get the same seat every time.
I never have any issues.
Is there a seat next to you?
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah, but the person next to me doesn't bother me.
They sleep on your shoulder.
No, they don't sleep on my shoulder
because people that fly with me,
when I do fly Spirit,
I'm always in the same seat.
Seat 13A or 13E.
I talk the whole flight.
So I've tweeted multiple times
I get upset when people get on a flight
with me and put their fucking headphones
on. If you get on a flight
next to me and you sit next to me, do
not put your headphones on and be rude.
I like to talk. So the flights that I do
take, nothing is over two hours.
I pay to sit back and relax and be
comfortable. No, no, no, no, no,
no, no. That's not happening
If I ever sat next to you on a flight
I'm going to talk your head off
Matter of fact
You ain't going to talk to me
When we go to the south of France
I'm flying with you
We're going to talk the whole six, seven hours
Nah, it's longer than six or seven hours
But you ain't going to be sitting next to me
Don't worry about it
Don't worry about it
I'm talking to you the whole flight
You got rail, talk to rail I'm sure to you the whole night. You got real.
Talk to real.
I'm sure real love be talking.
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Because I'm going to be sleeping.
I got to deal with her every day in this house.
I got a busy schedule.
So I'm going to get my sleep on the way over there.
Yeah, no, we're going to talk.
We're going to converse about the schedule.
Talk about what?
The schedule.
We're going to talk about nightcap.
We're going to have a briefing on what we're going to talk about?
I'll make sure Ash have you on itinerary.
She'll ship it to Doug. Y'all can go.
You go with it.
No, I want to engage. I want
authentic. I want you to run
down that chamber like a meat.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to do that.
Okay? Thank you. I'm glad you understand.

In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do.
