My good friend, legendary philosopher, truth-sayer, and comedian,
Cat Williams returns to Netflix for a live comedy event.
Cat Williams, woke folk, streaming live from Los Angeles as part of Netflix is a Joke Fest
on May 4th, 2024 at 10 PM. Eastern 7 PM Pacific.
It's live and it's cat.
So if it's anything like what happened on club,
Shay,
Shay,
y'all already know what it is.
Cat Williams will debut his new debut,
his new comedy special woke folk,
which will stream live on Netflix from the YouTube theater in Englewood,
California,
as part of Netflix or the joke Fest on May 4th, 2024,
at 7 p.m. Pacific, 10 p.m. Eastern.
This will be Cat Williams' third comedy special with Netflix.
His previous specials include World War III and Great America.
This show is part of the Netflix Is A Joke Comedy Fest,
taking place in Los Angeles from May 2nd through the 12th with comedy marathons all over with over 300 shows across 35 venues.
Well, again, Cat Williams, woke folk live May 4th, 7 p.m.
East, 7 p.m.
Pacific live only on Netflix.
Man, y'all already know he's going to go crazy.
Y'all already know what it is.
Y'all know i can't get
down he has a lot to say he got a lot on his mind and uh you gotta see it you gotta you gotta see
it you just got it because you already know who he is you already know what he is oh joe
yeah most definitely it's gonna be good it's gonna be good matter of fact this is a live
a live event right yes it's streaming live yes but the fact that it's a live event, right? Yes, it's streaming live, yes. The fact that it's a live event
and the fact you didn't invite me or Gil
to come to it and both of y'all in LA
and I have no problem catching a flight
and coming to see you May 4th
so I can be in attendance.
What's the issue?
Well, let me call.
Let me see if I can make a move.
You want to go for real?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
You already know you were going to see us tonight
so the move should have already been made
when you knew he was having a show.
Hold on.
When is May 4th?
Saturday?
When is Saturday?
Friday?
The day is...
No, the day is...
But, hey, May 4th is Saturday.
Matter of fact, let me tell you
how it could have worked out real quick.
Let me tell you how it could have worked out real quick.
Go ahead.
Here, go ahead.
First of all, if you knew
Cat had a live show in L.A.
on Saturday,
which is May 4th,
boom,
you should have ordered in your mind
the computer.
You know that computer
data you got?
Yeah, you know that?
I only plug it in
when it's on.
Don't go on.
Oh, yeah.
It should have went off
and said,
you know what?
You know,
Aguila already in L.A.,
so I'm going to invite Aguila
and I know Ocho
will fly out here.
Boom.
We could have watched
Cat Williams
and then did the show late on that night
after the Canelo-Munguia fight.
Like, we could have knocked out two birds with one stone
and really talked about the Cat show
on the Saturday show and boxing.
But, you know, that's how I think.
But I guess that's how you feel about us.
It's cool.
That's how you think it.
Don't hurt yourself doing that, though.
It ain't too late, though. I'm just saying because
today's only Wednesday.
All right. Hey, again, Cat Williams
has this special Woke Folk
as a part of Netflix
comedy
taking place in Los Angeles
May 2nd through the 12th.
A comedy marathon of over 300 shows
across 35 venues.
But Cat Williams, Woke Folk, live May 4th, 7 p.m. Pacific, 10 p.m. Eastern, live only on Netflix.
It's streaming live.
You know what?
I'm going to call it.
Yeah.
I'm going to call it.
Yeah.
But then that's going to make Nightcap go be a one o'clock edition.
That's fine.
That's fine because you know what?
I remember in the movie
Field of Dreams.
Yes.
And the quote was,
build it and they will come.
True.
Regardless to what time we start,
they will come.
Right.
Because you got to think
the people on the West Coast,
they going to be up.
Right. The people on the East Coast, they're going to be up. Right.
The people on the East Coast, they're going to stay up.
That's what love is about.
Love is about compromise and love is about sacrifice.
They're not missing these stories.
They're not missing the content.
We lost Gil Ocho.
We're going to try to get him back connected.
But we're going to start off the math,
blow out the Clippers.
They take a two,
a three,
two series lead with two playoff games tonight that decided by a total of
64 points.
So your,
your heat are done.
I need a slide.
Run me my money.
Whoa,
whoa,
whoa,
whoa,
whoa,

whoa,
whoa,
whoa,
whoa,
whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Now, we bet on the Heat game. We bet on the Heat game as long as everybody was healthy to play
outside of Chicago.
No, you don't bet like that.
We don't bet like that.
You told me injuries are a part of the game.
Yeah, that's when it comes to football.
So they're not a part of the game in the NBA?
I mean, they are a part of the game,
but situations change drastically
So what about Giannis being injured?
What about Giannis?
Wait, the Heat were at an extreme disadvantage
against the Celtics.
So why would you even want to take that bet?
Matter of fact, why would you even want to take my money
knowing that we didn't really stand a chance?
Why would you bet?
I bet because I thought everybody was playing
except for Jimmy.
No, you didn't. Jimmy Butler had already got hurt.
Ain't nobody else get hurt.
Can I ask you a question?
You really going to take my hard-earned money?
Every last dime of it.
Now run me my money.
Wait, knowing all these kids I got to take care of?
Unfortunately, my kids can't go hungry
so your kids can eat.
If any kids go hungry... Oh, so you're going to let my kids starve so your kids can eat. If any kids gonna go hungry...
Oh, yeah!
Absolutely!
I think the whole chat
is in agreement.
Hey, chat, what y'all think?
Are you letting your kids go hungry
so your best friend kids can eat?
I just want to know. Yes or no?
Hey, we're gonna put that to the poll.
And start a poll, Ash. Would you let your best friend kids can eat. I just want to know. Yes or no? Hey, we're going to put that to the poll and start a poll, Ash.
Would you let your best friend
kids eat and let your kids
go hungry? But that's not fair,
see, because the situation is you already have
money to feed your kids.
You got money to feed yours too?
Why? But if you take my little money
that I bet on the Heat that I thought might have
had a chance to win at least
one more game so they could at least look like they did
game two, it didn't happen.
But you already got money.
Now, so if you take money out of my pocket,
I bet, that means my kids ain't gonna be able to eat.
Hey, who said that?
Man, F them kids.
Hey, you know what,
so let the kids eat cereal.
I mean, hey, so your kids got to eat cereal For a couple of days
It's great, though
You know, it's a good thing
Three-fourths of my kids
Three-fourths of them can fend for themselves
And they can feed themselves
So I ain't tripping
I ain't tripping
It's cool
Yeah, I want to know
I want to know who
I want to know who
Will let their kids go without
So their friend can't eat
That's funny.
Again, Ocho Gil logged in.
He went out.
So we're going to go ahead and start the game.
The Mavs blow out the Clippers, take a 3-2 series lead,
led by Luka Doncic, had 35 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.
He was Luka.
He was sensational tonight, 14 or 26 from the floor.
Kyrie chip.
Then with 14,
uh,
Jones had 12,
uh,
Max Cleaver had 15,
Derek lively.
The second had 12 and Hardy came off the bench and he gave him 14.
Uh,
the game was close at the hat.
Well,
it was a 10 point lead.
If I'm not mistaken at the half.
And then they just took off in the third quarter and didn't let up in the fourth quarter.
And this game really wasn't that close.
We talked about it, Ocho.
In order for the Clippers to win this series without Kawhi,
James Harden is going to have to be the beard.
Paul George is going to have to be playoff feet.
And they've gotten that in two games.
In the two games they won, especially the last game,
both guys had 33. James Harden, I i think had 28 points in the first game paul chipped in um but but in order for them to win this series without kawaii right paul george and paul george and
james harden are gonna have to be what we know them to be what we've seen them be in the regular
season so james harden is gonna have to be the beard and paul george is gonna have to be, what we've seen them be in the regular season. So James Harden is going to have to be the beard,
and Paul George is going to have to be playoff P.
You're back. You're back, Gil.
Hey, check this out.
You watched the game that we started with the Mavericks Clippers.
What's your takeaway from this game?
Because the game, after midway through the third quarter, it wasn't close.
Oh, the Clips got clipped. That's what happened.
They was out of their heart.
They was the old Clippers.
Hey, they just, listen, they just didn't come to play.
With Kawhi being out, right, James Harden had to be James Harden.
Like, you had no other choice.
And the fact that, you know, he only took, what, under 10 shots. He wasn't going to and the fact that you know he only took what under
10 shots he wasn't going to win that game you know him playing like that so yeah um they they
they're about to they're going ahead about to see next week they ain't about to see next week huh
yeah you know what I got I got a question for Gil Gil you you you played at the highest level so
I'm I'm kind of curious when it comes to the game of basketball,
how difficult,
especially during the playoffs, or
just in general, how difficult is
it for players of Paul
George and James Harden caliber
to remain consistent game after game?
Is it that difficult? Because we see them have
two good games, and they win two
games where they scored well, and
they were very efficient
from the field then they have games like tonight where it seems like he wasn't playoff he was paul
george and james harden won the beard he was just james harden how difficult is it to be be complete
i that's the only word i can think of or analogy i can use to say where they just they play like
themselves week in and week out or night in and night out
Okay, so when it's regular season the reason regular season is kind of easier is because you don't get to scout me, right?
I play you today. I'm flying and play another team tomorrow. We didn't do no scouting for each other
So we're out there balling right playoffs, right? We get a
There's a book with everything you want to do all your secondary your first everything you want to do, all your secondary,
your first, everything you want to do as
a player. So, game
to game, there's just little adjustments
on you. So, if you killed me last
game, I have an adjustment for you.
Right? So,
a player has to show
different skills,
different games, different
rounds. And a lot of players
don't have those type of tools.
Right?
They think they can go
into every series
playing the same way.
Some games,
you have to be a decoy.
Right?
Some series,
you have to be a decoy.
Right.
You rely a lot on teamwork.
Right?
So, yeah,
I played great last game.
I might need Terrence Mann today or zubac today
you know because they're they're the opens guys so i might need them to to combine for 30 points
that means the next game frees me back up so dallas will not change what they did today
uh because the other guys didn't kill him right okay. Okay, I got you. I got you.
That's what it comes down to.
Because, Ocho, you know,
when we started,
you want to get to that fourth week
because now we got four game tapes.
We got four games.
Okay, this is what they did
in first and ten,
in second and five,
third and short,
third and long.
Okay, this is what they did in the red zone against this formation.
So the computer is going to spit out all the information.
Right.
What they've done over the last four games.
And as you go further, now you get to the playoffs.
They broken down every game that they played.
Right.
Every first and 10.
Every second and 10.
Every third and 10.
Every first and five.
Every second and five. Right. Every second and long. Every third and short. Every third and long every first and five every second and five right every second
and long every third and short every third and long what they run on fourth down what they run
on the goal line what they read in the red zone what so everything so now you've got a plate of
information and we know categorically now you know they're having a they practice too though
so they know what we're doing also but more times not, teams are going to stick to what they do
because you never want to get beat.
Because how many times have you heard, man, why would he throw that pitch?
He's blowing the fastball by him.
Why are you throwing change up?
Why are you throwing curve?
So, man, y'all know y'all supposed to get Ocho the ball.
Why are you going to the third receiver?
Man, give Ocho a chance.
So the team know they want to give Ocho the ball, why are you going to the third receiver? Man, give Ocho a chance. So the team
know they want to give Ocho the ball on third down
in the fourth quarter, and they're down by
four.
Now, can they stop it?
Because they're going to Ocho.
No. You hear what you just said?
Can they stop it? They can't.
Even with the field study throughout the week, whether it's four weeks,
whether it's eight weeks, whether it's ten weeks, when I think
about basketball, and like Gil said, when it comes to certain players and their skill sets and how many twos they have throughout the week, whether it's four weeks, whether it's eight weeks, whether it's 10 weeks. When I think about basketball and like Gil said,
when it comes to certain players
and their skill sets
and how many tools they have in the bag,
I'm expecting somebody like a Paul George
or somebody like a James Harden
who has a skill set,
who have, you know, tools in a bag,
being able to create space,
being able to create their own shot,
you know, playing off the ball,
pick and roll, all that good stuff.
Like I expect them to look the same night in and night out that all that good stuff like i expect them to
look the same night in and night out because they have the skill set to be able to do all those
things to always be on each night so to see them have a game like they did previously where they
won where they won and then come out tonight and just be this flat because if you're playing
against the same person then that same level of consistency
i think i would i would assume would be there because your skill set doesn't change and the
person that's in front of you if you're playing the same team it doesn't change either and you
know you can beat them whether it be 1v1 or whether it be a team effort as as well so it just
it's confusing to me how it's not i think standpoint, week to week, I know I can be consistent because, okay, even if you do study, even if you do know our tendencies offensively, all right, the coach is going to put me in positions to make plays anyway, regardless.
Which is, I'm sure, the same thing they can do in basketball.
So it's confusing how James Harden and pg can look good great one
night it's like oh my goodness they gonna beat the goddamn they're gonna beat the mavs and then
have a night like tonight and you know what they everybody go to shit no no you're right you're
right ultra but that's when you see consistency from a player you have to understand how great
that player really is thank you right so you can see the difference between, you know, the LeBrons, the Kobe's,
the Jokic, the Murray's.
Right.
The Steph Curry, the KD's.
Because they're beating you different ways each game.
Not the same way Jokic is going to post you up one game.
You take that away.
I'm going to pull out for the middie.
Then I'm going to pull out for the three.
I'm going to, that's what I'm saying.
You got to have different games.
If I know Paul George wants to pop, pop, pop, then shoot his fade away,
he's not going to be able to beat me four games like that.
Right.
I didn't adjust it to that.
So if he doesn't have a backup game, right,
if he doesn't know how to post up,
if he doesn't know how to flares, ducking, if you don't have
part of that to free him up, if you can
just run along, Hail Mary, the whole game,
I'm just going to sit back and
prevent.
You know, I'm not
going to prevent. You ain't coming back there.
Right? So if you don't have your little
five yarders, the slants, and all the
output, if you don't have it in your repertoire,
it's easy to have games like this.
But look what you just said.
Look what you just said.
These are two of the best in the game.
They're not LeBron.
Paul George and James Harden had that in their repertoire.
No, what's the history?
If you look at James Harden's history,
he's come up small in the playoffs.
Look at Paul George's history.
There's one game, Russell Westbrook, when he was in
OKC, Russell scored 45
points. They lost to Utah.
Paul George gave them five.
If you look at James Harden, the most turnovers
in a playoff game in history is James
Harden with 14. So no, that's
not true. Because the difference
is, is that can you take,
if you look at the great players, look at
Jamal Murray's, what he averaged in the regular season,
now go look at what he averaged in the playoffs.
Look at Jokic. Look at
Jordan. Even Jordan averaged 30 points
for a career. He averaged more in the
postseason. LeBron James averaged
more points in the postseason than he does
in the regular season. So does Kevin Durant.
That's the difference.
Guys are able to elevate
their level of play.
That's what greatness, that's when you know a player is truly historically great.
When he can elevate, when he can give you more than what they normally do in the regular season.
And the really, really great players, that's what they do.
And you look at Paul George's history, that's why everybody was shocked when he said
when they got to that press conference, they said,
playoff P. They're like, when did they start calling you that?
I ain't never heard nobody say that.
Who called you that?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, that's what they call you?
You know, I've been a league team. I ain't never heard nobody
call you playoff P. And James
Harden has come up small in
the playoffs. That's been the criticism a guy
averaged 36 35 points won the score how many james harden i think has won the scoring title like
three times won the assist title two or three times right and come playoff time he doesn't play
to the level in the regular season and that's why people criticize him because they bro you had like
35 straight games with 30 points.
He's the first guy to have a 60 point triple-double.
A 60 point triple-double. Let that sink in.
Not only did he go get his,
he helped everybody else
get theirs.
He has become playoff.
Imagine even in football,
if you had to play the same team
a possible seven times
right that first game everybody gonna get off a little bit it starts right up after that so like
like today let's take Kyrie Kyrie wasn't trying to take 24 shots today no the rest of his teammates
was hitting shots so because they were hitting shots he was just going for the win. So now, Ty Lue's
game plan has to change for those
role players, because he don't need the role
players to get off next game.
Kyrie's going to be ultra-aggressive. So it's like
chess moves in the playoffs.
Right? So it's not the best team, it's the smartest.
Right. It's really the smartest.
So right now, Dallas is playing
smart basketball. But you got Jason Kidd
over there too, so that helps a lot. Made for This Mountain is a podcast that exists to empower listeners to

that's anything but ordinary.
We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold,
connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen.
What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core.
It's this idea that there are so many stories out there,
and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content,
the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide.
And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets.

Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask Attorney General...
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra,
you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal
that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago,
but which few of us still remember today.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane,
I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Ocho, take it out, sport.
What do we credit Tom for?
Not for what he did so much in the regular season.
What he did in the postseason. Oh, in the playoffs.
Them come from behind win.
That no lead is safe.
28-3, it didn't matter.
He's the underdog. Two-minute drive.
14-2 set of the Chargers.
They win that game.
That's what elevated Tom.
I mean, look at Terry Bradshaw is 4-0 in the Super Bowl.
Never lost.
But they don't give him the credit or the act or Troy's 3-0.
But it seems like with those, they're like, well, we see Brady.
Brady could come from behind, though, man.
Man, Brady was out.
Man, you remember what he did in the Tuck rule game?
You remember what he did?
He was an underdog at Pittsburgh.
They won his first year starting.
That's what the playoffs.
The regular season will make you great.
Right.
The postseason will make you legendary. Right. Will make you great. The postseason will make you legendary.
Will make you iconic.
And right now,
for the fact that Lucas played, what,
four games and has not been very well,
averaging 29 under.
Come out here and give you 35,
35, 10, and what, seven?
Yes.
Think about what you heard what Gil said.
Lucas averaging 29 points
and he ain't playing well.
And he ain't playing well.
Why didn't you say that
at Ocho?
That makes no sense
because I heard him comment.
I heard the comments
that he made
where he said
he feel like he let
Kyrie down.
How you letting Kyrie down
if you got a stat line
like that?
That made no sense to me.
I'm like,
what did you talk about, buddy?
Because when Lucas playing great like he did tonight, the game no sense to me. I'm like, what did you talk about, buddy? Because when Luka's playing great
like he did tonight,
the game is a lot easier.
See, Luka sometimes
likes to play on a perimeter,
shoot a jumper
because he can shoot it
over everybody.
Tonight, he got inside the lane
realizing the way I play the game,
you can't stop me
from getting here.
Your athleticism means nothing
because I know how to play
smart basketball.
Right.
So it looks like, man, just stay in front of him. He knows how to play smart basketball. Right. So it looks like,
man, just stay in front of him. He knows how to use his body. He knows how to use his pump fakes,
his head. He knows how to use all of that.
So when he plays
inside out,
it helps him out a lot.
Hey, Real!
You ain't talking down. Hey, Real!
Huh?
Oh, Real. Are we good, Real? How you doing't talking now. Hey, Rail. Huh? Oh, Rail.
Are we good, Rail?
How you doing?
Tired.
I've been working hard.
Hey, stand your ground, Rail.
Don't let him run over you
because he's trying
to run over somebody.
Don't let him do it, Rail.
I'm not up.
Mm-hmm.
Nah.
Why you over there
buffing your gum?
In public.
Huh, it's family.
It's just family. It's family.
It's just family.
Ocho,
we got the poll.
Would you let your kids go hungry
so your BFF kids could eat?
Yeah.
Bunk kids will starve,
33%.
Ocho kids will starve,
67%.
Damn.
Damn.
He's trying to take money.
He's trying to take money
out the kids,
money out the kids' mouth.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She say, nah, we can't do that.
Hey, Bray Rhea, put Rhea a little.
Come on, come on, man.
Come here, come here, come here, come here.
Five minutes of fame.
She want her little five minutes of fame.
Let me take a look.
Rhea.
How you doing, huh?
I'm doing good.
You can see Gia right there.
What's up, Gia? Hey, how you doing? What's up, huh? I'm doing good. You can see Gil right there. What's up, Gil?
Hey, how you doing?
What's up, cousin?
Would you take food out your kid's mouth so your best friend kids could eat?
So you let your kids go hungry
and your best friend kids eat?
No, what I would do is
I would split it evenly
so they all can eat.
Ah!
No, I got to have my kids healthy,
plump, belly full. But listen, my best friend kids
are like, they're like family. They're like
my own. They're my nieces and nephews,
so I got to make sure they're good, too.
Ah, you know what? That's so nice,
Rell.
Rell, where you been?
We haven't seen you in a while
I've been working
I have a lot of stuff that's coming up
so okay okay
now what's up
just stay tuned
I mean you gotta break it you gotta break it
on here first I am
you know I am okay okay
all right y'all have a good one
thanks real
you know old short of stay at home father yeah Okay, okay. All right, y'all have a good one. All right, thanks, Real. All right. You know, Old Shorty's
stay-at-home father.
He's stay-at-home father.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Listen, I told you.
I told Edgar, I'm not playing.
You know, I don't mean to be rude.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful,
but I've been afforded
a certain lifestyle,
and I want to make sure
that lifestyle continues,
which is why I'm not signing no papers.
She telling me,
we ain't going,
we ain't walking down the aisle unless I sign papers. Man, shit, the hell I am. I'm with you. I'm not signing no papers. She telling me we ain't going to be walking down the aisle unless I sign
papers. Man, shit, the hell I
am. I ain't signing shit.
I need to protect myself.
Just in case, you know how women are.
Women mind is different.
One day they love you Monday, the next day
she might not want to be with you Thursday.
If you want to leave, I need to protect myself.
Let her leave. She can go as leave, I need to protect myself. Yeah.
Let her leave.
Oh, yeah, she can go.
As long as I can have that money.
As long as I have that money.
Real, don't do it, real.
We won't prenup.
We won't prenup.
Celtics beat the Heat.
Boston Celtics took care of business in a dominant fashion,
crushing the Miami Heat 118-84,
vanquished their playoff nemesis in five games to advance to the second
round. Derrick White continued his
scorching play from game
four. He had 25 points.
Match teammate Jalen Brown's game high total.
Jason Tatum chipped in
with a double-double, 16 points and 12
rebounds.
Yeah, well, look.
Let's not, you know,
string this thing out.
We know, unless the Miami Heat
were going to have another game where they made
23-25, 27-3,
that was their only chance.
Yeah.
The Celtics are the superior
team. Jimmy Butler
is out, so they're vastly undermanned.
And unless they can replicate what they did in game two,
this series is going to end in five.
Yeah, you know, to be honest, this was probably the most embarrassing series
when it comes to losses. I think Miami lost, what,
by 20, by 20,
by 14, and by 34 tonight?
Every loss was
embarrassing.
26.
It was an embarrassing loss.
No, you're right. 30, yeah.
34.
They've gotten
embarrassed on that court.
I think out of all the series,
this is the one that was just so lopsided.
And we gave Miami Heat the benefit of the doubt
because they beat them last year
and they know how to play them well.
But this was an embarrassing series, to be honest.
So, you know, at least they got out of it
with some type of composure with one win.
Well, you know, is it still as embarrassing
as you make it out to be, even with the injuries?
So Jimmy's out.
I mean, there are certain players
that we would actually need to even have a chance,
especially Jimmy, who I consider to be,
you know, the heart of the Heat in general,
with him being out.
I mean, did we really stand a chance?
No.
Well, if you make another 23-24-3, yes.
The three-point shot is the equalizer.
If you can make that,
because remember now,
it took a franchise record,
playoff record.
To win that game.
Right.
But again,
let's think about how impossible that is
based on Gil just explaining to me
how difficult it is to remain consistent night in and night out.
Yes.
Every other night.
Yes.
Oh, hell.
If James Harden, if the beard and Paul George can't do it, then I'm trying to think, who do we have that are offensive juggernauts with the heat that can put up the numbers anyway?
Nobody.
Oh, no.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, y'all don't have any.
I think the more embarrassing part is because it's Miami Heat and we know there is a prideful organization.
Right.
Great and tough.
And the fact that we didn't get to see it because they just didn't have that soul.
You know, Gaia, Jimmy, it's embarrassing just to see.
Right.
How some warriors just couldn't
muster up to get at least double digits.
At least some eights, some nines,
lose by nine.
Let the building get its...
No, it was just...
He just got whooped the whole
four games.
Yeah.
Dang.
Philadelphia 76ers ownership
and fanatic CEO Michael Rubin,
that's my dog,
is joining forces to acquire and distribute 2,000 tickets for Thursday night game showdown with the Knicks.
The game is going to be at Wells Fargo.
This comes after a significant influx of Knicks fans took over Wells Fargo Center during game four
and can be heard chanting MVP for Jalen Brunson during the 76ers loss.
Rubin said, we cannot let Nick's
fans take over our arena again.
You got to spread them out.
Gil, you know how you do it? You put like
200 over here, way at the top.
200 over there, way
at the top. You can't let them pocket.
You can't let them pull
close to the board, Gil.
Yeah, or you can just put a TV screen outside
and say, y'all going to watch from here.
Watch from here.
This is playoffs.
When Jordan was playing,
there was no infantry in that building, right?
No, no.
It's hard.
This looks like when the Clippers and the Lakers play
and it's a Clipper game, Clipper home game.
The Lakers infiltrate that building, right?
The playoffs, and if you know New York is
right down the corner,
sold out. Sorry. It's
sold out. Anybody with a New York jersey
on, sorry, you can't get in the building. Tickets
sold. Whatever ticket you got, you rip it up.
Let them file lawsuits, but they're not
getting in this building.
They're almost filled out.
They do that to black folks all the time at the club.
As soon as you get in there,
ain't nobody in here yet.
Ain't nobody in here.
Or charge you $500
to get in here.
And then you're like, bro,
we played $500 for this?
But it's the playoffs
and I understand.
What happened? Hold on. I can't see. $500 for this? But it's the playoffs and I understand. Oh, shoot.
What happened?
Hold on.
I can't see.
Man,
I got this.
You see I'm standing up.
Everything's over here changing.
Wait, you standing up?
You ain't in no chair?
No, man.
I got the new logo in the back.
I got a new logo.
I got the new logo, man.
I got the claim.
I got to join the botas back here. Oh, man. I got a new logo. Let's have to join the botanists back here.
Oh, man.
They got my dog standing.
Hold on. That's a nightcap
sign or it's on the TV? It's on the TV.
Right?
Look, if I sit down, all you
see is cap like I'm just lying the whole time.
Hey, Gil got that shit rigged up yeah he got he got it ninja rigged
charles oakley once believed joel and b could be an all-time great but whining and losing has
changed his mind oakley said everybody says he's hurt you're hurt, stay home and watch it on TV
like everybody else is doing. I don't want to hear
this. I'm giving him my all. You've seen
seven-footer shooting threes. I mean, you stand
around the three-point line,
what guard's going to do?
So I think
that. You know, they cry too much. All
these guys in the league cry too much.
He's too big to be crying. I'm sorry I said it
about two years ago. He could be the next W Will Chamberlain, but I don't know.
He could be the next Dunkin' Donut or somebody because he just cried.
I mean, listen, I know I don't watch much basketball,
but I do know I watch enough to know that when Charles Oakley played,
the bigs were a little bit different.
The bigs played a little different.
Yeah, for sure.
The game is different.
The game has evolved now.
And Joel Embiid, whether he cries or not or whines a lot, I mean, he does a lot.
He can play down in the post.
He got a mid-range game.
He can go out there from three.
But he can't help it that he's hurt.
Now, I'm sure, you know, back in the day, you know, in the 80s and 90s,
it was all about being tough and playing through injury.
But, dude, he's seven feet, almost 300-something pounds.
So there's a little difference.
You got to give him a little grace.
The mentality Charles Oakley has is that old school mentality.
Get your ass out there.
If your goddamn leg broke, just go out there and get it done.
No matter what.
Don't cry about it.
But times have changed.
Times are different.
I understand where Oak is coming from because that's kind of my era too.
But that's a tough one.
He ain't got to lean on him like that.
He ain't got to lean on him heavy like that.
I mean, it's easy for Oak to say,
go out there and play even though you're hurt.
Because when you went out there injured,
you ain't had to get nothing but two points.
Right?
Oakley wasn't scoring like that
he wasn't like no
he was a rebounder
and an enforcer
also like Dennis
he was like Dennis Rodman
yeah
how he talking crazy like that
he wasn't even no
offensive juggernaut like that
nah because here's the thing
when you're out there on the court
don't nobody know you hurt
all they see is Embiid
on the back of the jersey
we see that all the time
guys go out there hurt and they don't give you production okay this this you know how
this bit you know how professional sports work if you out there all they see is the name on the back
of that jersey right now what do you normally do that's what they expect hurting those hurt
they don't want to hear the a just show just show me the baby. I understand the labor pains
are going to be intense,
but show me the healthy baby.
And so they're saying,
Joel Embiid, look,
that big old,
we know you don't normally
wear a knee brace.
But bro, you can't,
you dropped 50.
Was he hurt when he dropped 50, Gil?
Yeah.
Okay then, that's what's see.
You can't drop 50
and then talk about,
oh man, my knee knee and then when you come
out there and play bad even though you won because he that's Tyrese Maxey won that game the other
night Joel Embiid was really really bad he had a triple double but he was awful I mean he had like
four consecutive turnovers in a row I'm talking about he was throwing the ball. He was spraying the ball all over the feet, all over the court. Yeah, he... It's hard
because even him at
what, 50%,
he's just more...
He's just dominant.
You know, and
this is more of
an NBA thing. I don't know if they have it like this
in football. If all three of us
was playing one-on-one,
Ocho,
we get the foul, Shannon,
as much as we want. They're not going to call
the foul the same.
Him, Jokic,
Giannis,
players like
that, they get
fouled a lot.
They get fouled a lot, but because they're so big, they're fouled a lot. They get fouled a lot, but
because they're so big, they're supposed
to take it.
They do the most crying.
So when you're talking about
if a ref,
think about a ref. They don't want
to give out 30 free throws to a guy
for the game.
So now I have to pick and choose what I'm going
to give andid fouls.
But he's
getting fouled. He can get fouled every
time he touches the ball.
That player is thinking, yo, I need
30 free throws. And they're like,
so I'm going to go give you 10 tonight.
That kind of frustrates players.
With a guard,
Maxie will get more free throws than Joel
Embiid
with the same style
because he's smaller
look at Shaq, Shaq should have been shooting 20 free throws a night
I was following him every time he touched the ball
but I think the most
I think the biggest thing is
yeah Joel Embiid we know he has that knee issue
but the man is playing with
Bell's palsy,
which is kind of like a mild form of a stroke
because you see his eyelid going closed.
Sometimes your mouth gets crooked.
You have loss of some function issues.
So that might be more so than the knee,
is what that debilitating disease does to you.
He's out there playing.
I don't know anybody.
If I'm not mistaken, I think Mark Sloreff had that,
and he missed an entire year.
Yeah, we usually take Pillar Center for stuff like that.
I'm going to just be honest.
Pillar Center ain't going to help that.
What they say, how you get it, boy, you get it from there.
Surprise, I ain't have it yet. Boy from... Surprise, I ain't have it yet.
Boy, I'm surprised
I ain't have it yet.
Nah, nah.
You got that
Forrest Whitaker going on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You got that last
King of Scotland.
Yeah, so I don't know, man.
Listen, listen.
You better stay out
those strip clubs.
I can tell you that, man.
Come on.
It's playoff time, man.
You can't be out there with your eyes twitching.

In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask...
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra,

Mello said he would have been out for blood if anthony ed was treating him the same way he
treated kd let's take a listen to what mellow had to say that little young dude called his shot
before he even started versus legend is that not crazy i love it when i'm sitting at home i would
have been like this thing is buggered i don't want to kill this little nigga i'd have been out for
blood they moving out his way in a competitive way I'd have been out for blood. They moving out his way. In a competitive way, I'd have been out for blood.
Because I'm taking that as, what?
You just called me out in front of Malika?
It's just that it goes back to say, you got to know how to put these pieces together.
And I get what Phoenix did.
They said, we going all in.
We got to go out, Thomas.
Now we got to put all the chips on the table.
We got to go.
These young boys ain't trying to hear that.
None of these young boys in this league is trying to hear that.
What you mean go out for blood?
Ocho, remember we had a conversation the other night?
Yeah.
We all ready to fight.
What you going to do?
Oh, you hit me in my nose?
Right.
That's what you want?
Bro, you in a hoop game.
I understand what you're talking about, though.
In a hoop game, when you ain't saying nothing,
you just out there playing.
Now you got somebody talking trash to you.
Oh, it raises the level of play just a little bit.
That's why when you add trash talking to the game and you're competing,
it forces you or it makes you want to play at a higher level,
even though you're in the middle of a game already.
I think that's where he's coming from.
But that's not Kevin Durant's game.
You just told me when you started talking and somebody started talking back,
they're going to get angry.
They're going to get out of their game because that's not their game.
And now you got him.
I know I got him.
You want Kevin Durant to do something that he doesn't normally do?
No, see, what Melo's saying is the way Melo played and the style Melo played,
if Ant would have been talking to him, Melo, listen, they would have lost the game him, Mello would have lost the game.
They would have
lost that game. Mello would have had about
60 because nobody else is shooting that ball.
Come on down here.
He would have hit him
with all them elbows that
he does to everybody.
He would have put Youngfell in that basket.
He would have jeopardized
that loss to prove a point.
That's what he said.
I ain't trying to. I'll prove a point in the regular season.
I ain't proving no point in the postseason.
I'm trying to advance.
Nah, you got to.
I'm trying to advance.
Listen, with someone like Anthony Edwards and them young boys not caring,
you get.
That's his favorite player.
What he did again.
You see how it carried him over to the next couple of games.
Yeah.
You can't give no inches to a player.
So Mello would have,
Oh,
hold on.
If we want to win a series,
we got to jeopardize this game.
Right.
These straight drops.
Yeah.
These straight drops.
Mello would have hit you with.
Yeah.
You got to stop him.
It's like,
like with your kids.
You can't stop him. First of all,
they gave up all the defenders.
They got no wing defenders.
They gave up their best wing defender in order to get Kevin Durant.
See, that's the risk.
When I tell people, at some point in time,
you got to play some defense.
You got to get a stop.
Look at in clutch situation.
They couldn't stop Anthony Edwards.
He got wherever he wanted to get on the floor he got whatever shot he wanted
to get they didn't bliss him they didn't
trap him they didn't get the ball out of his hand
they let him play one on one you better not
let no great player catch a rhythm and talk about you gonna
play him one on one it's a rap
especially once you catch the rhythm the guys are too
good yeah
you can't play anybody one on one but Anthony
he has
great
role players around him.
When we talk about Michael Jordan, the reason
Michael Jordan get a double, Scottie Pippen,
they were great basketball
players.
Anthony Edwards,
he has smart basketball
players surrounding him, so
it's going to be hard to double him, just like it's hard to double you.
Yes.
They have great players around them.
So you have to play them one-on-one.
And as long as you're playing them one-on-one, get in this basket.
Yeah.
Right.
I kind of understand when Melo say alpha blood, I get it.
And being alpha blood is also a mentality as well.
Like somebody that, matter of fact, somebody doesn't even need to say nothing to you, for you to already be out for blood in general.
Because some people's game just carries that type of style and just the way they are.
I think about, and I like the way you say out for blood.
Like with my kids, when it comes to competing, anything that we do.
Hell, we could be at Dave and Buster's.
Hell, we could be playing Uno.
When it comes to this one in here, when they're making all that noise,
I have to establish dominance at all times, no matter what we're doing.
Always.
You have to lose.
I got to win because the Bills carried them, especially for the kids.
When you do anything competitive with your kids, you got to be out for blood.
So you want to win the battle and lose the war?
I ain't going to never lose the war
because the war don't start.
The war, let me tell you,
I ain't going to never lose no battle,
and I'm not going to lose no war.
You got to establish dominance when they're young.
But no, I'm talking about mellow.
You trying to make it a one-on-one battle.
Oh, I see what you mean.
I see what you mean.
I see what you mean.
You got to set the tone, though. You got to set the tone. This is a seven-on-one battle oh I see what you mean you gotta set the tone though
you gotta set the tone this is a seven game series
I gotta sit down
I ain't 20 no more
you good
hey but here's the
I get it
but you can't get on a one-on-one battle you good? Hey, but here's the, oh, Joe, I get it. I get it. Oh,
I'm going to try to,
you know,
but you can't get on a one-on-one battle because you're trying to win the
game or you're trying to show that you're better than him.
Right.
I get what you're going on.
I get what you're going on.
Listen,
maybe,
maybe a little bit of both.
Maybe have a little balance of both.
Right.
You know,
a guy like Ant,
you ain't doing that.
Cause if you could take his heart,
he wouldn't even talk to you like that.
Come on, man.
There's a reason why he's talking to you like that.
But remember, he was struggling early.
In a couple shots, hit a couple shots,
came down, said something, hit another one.
Kevin Durant came down, said something, right?
He came back, said something.
Now it's over, right?
He in rhythm now.
He in three shots. Now you ain't in rhythm now. He in three shots.
Now you ain't stopping him now.
He in rhythm.
Any great player, let him see the ball go in.
Yep.
Now he really going to start talking.
Yep.
Because I got something to talk about.
It's just like, hey, let me get a couple catches.
You better not let me get a couple.
Let me get three catches in the first quarter, Ocho.
Yeah.
Go for it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Man.
You already know what it
feel like when you touch that ball the first time.
Early. I didn't just give it.
You touch it early? Oh, but you in
there for the rest of the game.
Katie Bardot.
Hey, I'm in your ear.
I'm in the whole game.
That seems like the most frustrating thing
in y'all's sport.
Being a great receiver
and your quarterback
ain't on the same page with you.
Oh my God.
Yeah, that's frustrating.
Yeah.
Hey, Gil, you go into some games
and whoever you're playing,
let's say if we're playing the Ravens
and...
What's the Ravens coach name?
Brian...
Brian Billy.
Man, Brian Billy
coming to the game and say,
I don't care what
the Bengals do today.
Ocho ain't touching the ball.
Man, listen.
They'll walk a Darius Thomas
out from that D and Unk.
Put him right in front of me.
Shade Ed Reed
over to my side.
With the DB off
about seven yards
right behind the Darius.
I'm talking about
it's like that
full quarter straight.
Oh, no.
You got to go
hiking yourself then. Boy. You got to go hiking yourself then.
Boy, that is one of the worst feelings,
even though it's a sign of respect.
It's one of the worst feelings
to go through practice
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
have a walk-through Saturday,
and then go into a game on Sunday
and have the opposing team
play a game style
where you ain't touching the ball.
I get two catches for 20 yards.
I worked all week.
I worked hard all week
to have two catches for 20 goddamn yards.
Yeah.
I can institute a defense that I make it tough on you
that you won't get.
Ocho, what was the book on Randy?
What was the book on T.O.? book on uh uh uh T.O.
frustrate them early yeah make sure hey we're gonna roll coverage yeah we're gonna get them
frustrated early yeah yeah then we got them yeah that's all you gotta do for a wide receiver
hey we're gonna make try let's try to make him go the entire first quarter without having to catch
see yeah yeah see it's hard it's hard like it's hard to do that in the NBA because...
Yeah, for sure.
Because we can go get the ball.
You don't want to...
Like, you don't want to give it to me.
I go get it myself.
Right.
Get it myself.
But see, that's the thing, though.
You can have it.
You can get the ball.
You can dribble the ball.
A receiver plays a dependent position.
Yeah.
He can't get the ball.
You can't.
I can make it tough on you.
Yeah.
Yeah. Boom. Uh-oh, uh- tough on you yeah Tim Hardaway senior says Pat Riley wouldn't welcome
LeBron back to the heat I don't think
LeBron want to go back to the heat but anyway
he said after what happened back then
Pat Riley is not going to
is not going to him
stop playing
stop playing
Tim Hardaway Sr.
Who gave him a microphone?
Was he a scout?
Was he on the team?
Where is he?
What?
You know, he's saying Pat Riley don't want LeBron back after everything played out.
That man gave y'all four years.
Took you to four NBA finals,
won you two championships.
His debt was paid in full.
Yeah, I'm curious.
I'm not sure what Brother Hardaway,
Brother Hardaway Sr. is really talking about.
I think if the opportunity presented itself,
if LeBron was to come to Miami,
I think that makes us somewhat of a contender,
especially what we have now.
And the coaching that Spoh does with less
being able to compete.
Obviously, in the playoffs, we were hurt.
We were hampered, but it would be
dope. It would be awesome. Obviously,
hypothetically speaking, it's not going to happen.
I'm just saying, if it did,
Pat Riley would
absolutely accept LeBron back
with open damn arms, no matter
what happened back then. That's facts.
I mean, after he watched this whooping
that they did this year,
and they haven't got a big free agent since
LeBron's left, if LeBron
wanted to come back, trust me,
Pat is like, come on
in here. Door wide open.
Because he knows LeBron is going to bring another superstar
with him, right? So you're
not going to jeopardize that over whatever happened over some cookies on the plane.
I'm sorry.
Well, I mean, if you don't want LeBron, you better want somebody.
Go back.
As a matter of fact, the way they keep on losing him, they'll take D-Wade back.
And D-Wade, he ain't got nothing for him.
D-Wade walked away.
Listen, he might lose Jimmy. and D-Wade he ain't got nothing for him D-Wade walked away listen you need to be careful
you might lose Jimmy
there's only so much running you can do
when you start getting up in age
like Pat Riley
that system over there is for young boys
that's for like Detroit Pistons
the Washington Wizards
OKC
go and get them boys get them right That's for like Detroit Pistons, right? Washington Wizards. Oh, yeah. OKC?
Yeah, go and get them boys.
Get them right.
Players, superstars, that's not meant for them out there.
He runs their body down.
Yeah.
Yeah, well, I tell you what.
He better hope another LeBron comes along.
Or another D. Come on now.
You know he doesn't like that coming along.
No time. Well, he better hope a D. Wade come along. Or another D. Come on now. You ain't nothing like that coming along. No time.
Well, he better hope
a D. Wade come along.
How about that?
In a shack
that got something to prove.
I like it,
but it ain't happening.
All right.

There are so many stories out

the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
