Oh, I'll go cost you

Why?
Everything costs.
Because you're saying this godforsaken
economy, everything is high. Hey, it is. Okay, God forsaken economy. Everything is high.
Hey, it is. Okay.
Make the money right.
Uh, and the
hoodies, this hoodie, uh, Dr. Frankie
L Bell Bellamy. She was also,
she's been one of our most, uh,
uh, one of our most
faithful and loyal followers.
Yeah. She even came to the live
in Vegas, heard her and her husband so uh
doc we really really appreciate that um hey ocho let's jump right into it if our very first segment
is a news cap
ocho you remember we had the conversation of other day about does Dallas have a winning culture?
Right.
Now, this is what Dalton Schultz said.
He was a former tight end.
He's now a Houston Texan.
This is what he said.
He described the locker room environment to the star.
It's a zoo.
Schultz appeared on the Pat McAfee show on ESPN and talked about the differences between playing for the Texans and playing for the Cowboys.
He said, here, the focus is just football.
You know what I mean?
I'm going back and telling people about being around the Cowboys practice facility in game
day and describing it, some of the interaction and the stuff that you see day-to-day basis.
And it surprises a lot of people.
It's literally a zoo, dude.
There are people tapping on the glass, trying to get your attention while you're doing power cleans or whatever.
It's different. That's the brand that they built.
That's what Jerry likes.
That's just the way they run things. There's
nothing wrong with that. You don't realize
how many eyeballs that you have, and it may
be distracting in the locker room.
Just being in the facility until you go there,
go somewhere else, and you're like, holy
crap, there's none of that. Schultz
spent five years in the Cowboys before signing in 2023.
And I think he just re-signed a three-year deal. So let that sink in, Ocho.
So how is that a winning culture? When you're trying to work out and people
tapping on the glass, trying to get your shit, people walking through the locker room.
Right, right, right.
That's not a museum.
I mean, it's not a museum, but obviously it's a museum. That's why it's called Jerry's World.
So everything that's a part of that star and everything that Jerry has built up to this
point is all about selling. It's all about selling yourself. And that's what he continues to do.
He does it in the off season. He does it in season. And he does it in the most important parts of
the structure practice. When you're working out, when you're training,
listen, it's what it is. It's what it's always been. What I don't like,
I don't like this part. I don't like the fact that Dalton Schultz considered it a distraction.
It is a distraction. Listen, stay with me, baby.
You play in front of 70,000. I don't know how much Jerry Rose holds. I don't know
how much it holds. But when you're locked in in the practice, I don't care if it was a
bunch of strippers walking around. I'm locked into how much it holds. But when you're locked in in the practice, I don't care if it was a bunch of strippers
walking around. I'm locked into what I have to do
at that present time.
But I understand what he's saying, how it can be a distraction.
But like, listen. What about the weight room?
So when you was working out with
Paul Brown, did they have fans coming through?
You know they didn't have that.
You know they didn't have it there. I'm just saying
in general, when you're in the workplace,
nothing else should be
able to distract you i don't care what it is but i understand i understand where he's coming from
oh joe hey i have one more thing one more thing before you go as when you talk about a winning
culture when you talk about a winning culture that is something that the cowboys do have they
have a winning culture when it comes to the regular season a winning record they have a winning record
that ain't no winning culture not okay Okay, I see what you're saying.
I see where you're going.
But as far as the postseason is concerned,
they haven't had that part of success.
And maybe it might be them
needing to pull the reins back
and it all starts with Jerry Jones,
like I've always said.
Ocho, see, you got to look at this differently.
See, I know everything's not a distraction to you
because y'all practice on the underpass.
People can get out and park their car
and watch you guys practice.
So people at home, don't listen to Ocho
because their practice is open to the public anyway
because they practice up on the underpass.
You can park your car on the highway
and get out and watch the Bengals practice.
Yeah, but that's way up yonder, though. That's way up yonder. I'm just speaking on the highway and get out and watch the Bengals practice. Yeah, but that's way up yonder though.
That's way up yonder.
I'm just speaking on the fact,
for me, I can only speak for me specifically,
is when I'm locked in,
just say the weight room.
Just say the weight room.
Now, I've won no SWO.
I'm just saying,
once I am locked in into that space mentally,
I don't give a fuck what's going on.
I'm sorry.
Damn it, I curse.
I don't care what's going on around me. I'm sorry. Damn it. I curse. I don't
care what's going on around me. That that's all. Now other people might feel different and consider
the distraction and they have a right to do so. I'm just telling you how I would be if I was in
that atmosphere, but go ahead. Okay. I agree with John Schultz. Uh, I don't think that's
really the mentality. Uh, I don't think that's conducive. That's probably the only place that
that happens. You think that happens in Kansas. That's probably the only place that that happens.
You think that happens in Kansas City?
Absolutely fucking not.
What about New England?
McChad, please.
You know better than that. Oh, well, you were there, so you would know.
You know better than that.
When I was in Denver, that damn sure didn't happen.
Now, there might be people come around on the off day, on a Tuesday.
Sponsors and advertisers, they would come through the locker room on situation, but that's the off day on a Tuesday sponsors and advertisers they would come through the locker
room on situation but that's an off day on Monday Wednesday Friday Thursday oh hell no now now I will
say fast Friday press fast Friday that's when some people would be able to come out and watch
the shorter practice that we have you know family yeah. Yeah, exactly. Y'all had that too?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's the only time I saw anybody.
Only time I saw anybody.
But everybody, hold on.
That wasn't for everybody.
Everybody couldn't just have their family show up.
That was a John Elway, a Terrell Davis, a Shannon Sharp.
That was for a very select few.
Everybody just couldn't have you, the 46th guy on the roster.
You ain't finna have your family standing there watching.
Mike Shanahan wasn't playing that bull job.
Right, right, right.
So you understand.
Did I have a couple of my homeboys come?
Absolutely.
And the first thing, Mike, who was that?
Oh, that's 84 people.
Okay.
Right.
So you understood.
Now, I didn't.
They weren't out there every practice.
But my homeboys would come probably once or twice a year.
And then,
you know,
when they come to the game,
I get them on the sideline,
but sideline passes weren't for everybody.
No,
no,
that's,
that's for immediate,
immediate.
No,
that's for soup.
That's for the star star.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Got a sideline passes and got that,
got their homeboys on the sideline.
Right.
But you know,
my,
my,
you know, my, uh, you know, obviously, my sister,
my mom, they wanted to be sitting down. My mom was too old to be standing on the sideline anyway.
But when I was in Baltimore, I had
a suite. Me and Ray split a suite.
And so my family was in the suite.
But in Denver,
nah, Mike wasn't playing
that. I mean, Mike was,
man, look here.
Mike better not catch you looking dazin'.
Mike like, hey, what'd you do last night that you can't focus on practice?
Right.
Hey, man, Mike ran a tight ship.
He ran a very tight ship, and I appreciate that.
Check this out, Ocho.
Parsons, the Cowboys are going to pick up Micah's fifth year option.
The surprise is, however, Dallas is conducting said business.
Parsons will receive the option as a defensive end, not a linebacker.
By doing so, the Cowboys will save roughly $3 million.
Micah will make $21.32 million as a defensive end.
Had he played up under the Cow cowboy out of the linebacker tag
he would have gotten 24 million
but he look this is just not checkers he's looking at he's looking at miles garrett he's looking at
joy bosa's numbers those are the guysez Sweat just got a monster deal.
So he's looking
at the defensive ends.
The linebackers,
I think T.J. Watt
might be the highest
paid linebacker.
He's like,
I don't want T.J. Watt money.
I want that 100 mil.
That 150 million
for six years.
I want 30,
I want 100 million guaranteed.
That's what he's looking at.
Now,
what do you think
the chances of him
getting that is, especially with the fact that they have to do DAC, they definitely have to do
CD. Is there enough cap room? Is there a way to manipulate the numbers where Micah can get what
he deserves as well? I play football. That's not my job to worry about. You worry about that. I
want my money. Right. Ain't that what they tell us? They tell us you
play football and don't worry about
business. So when you come to me
and ask for a discount for cap purposes,
I play football. That's not my
responsibility. You handle the cap.
Right. So that's why I'm asking you, do you think
they would be able to get on with that?
But here's the thing that you have to give up, Ojo.
If you get an extension,
you've got to sacrifice because the only way you know your true value is that you become a free agent.
That's the only way.
Now, you know they're not going to allow Micah Parsons to become a free agent.
Come on now.
But I'm saying.
This is the generational talent we're talking about.
I'm willing.
You know what, Ocho?
Yes, sir.
I'm willing to give up a little money
to get the security right now right so instead of maybe get instead of maybe getting 100 million
fully guaranteed i'll take 90 so i gave you 10 million because you got to understand there's no
state taxes so i just saved myself somewhere between nine and twelve million dollars right so what
can't you what can't you buy we're not what can you buy we're not well with 100 million that you
can't buy with 90 you're right you're right and plus he and plus he's michael parkinson he's a
man if they if they were to ever win oh if they were to win a Super Bowl, that would be the mayor of Dallas.
They'd have to put a statue out front.
They got to put a statue out front while he's still playing.
Absolutely.
Cowboy, man, Texas, they love them cowboys.
And this is what I don't understand.
I don't think Jerry actually understands the fact that if you were to change
the way you maneuver just a little bit,
just a tad bit, scale it back,
pull the reins back a little bit,
settle back in the background.
Look at all the owners that have won a Super Bowl.
Look at all the current owners that have won a Super Bowl.
Nobody's at the forefront of anything.
Nobody's selling the product of the team
because they don't have to.
Think about what the Cowboys are worth right now.
Nine billion, 9.2. At what point, maybe someone could tell Jerry, or maybe Jerry might see this.
Think about if you won a Superbowl, if you worked 9.2 billion now, what do you think you'd be worth
if you won? What do you think you'd be worth if you won? Like just change things up a little bit.
Maybe the outcome will be different.
Maybe, maybe not. I'm just saying you've been doing it one way for so long and it hasn't worked
and got you where you want to get to. If you're serious about obviously winning culture and
bringing another Lombardi, which you haven't had since what, 95? Yep. Since 95, change the way you
do things. Change the way you do things. Maybe the results will be different. You know what?
In my experience, I'm just speaking through my experience.
What I've been able to deduce is that people would rather lose their way than win someone else's way.
Think about what I said, Ocho.
I would rather lose my way than win someone else's way.
It seems to me Jerry weather do the same thing
what he's been doing but he's not losing what's the you said what's the most valuable franchise
in all of pro sports yeah the cowboy cowboy right okay he who makes more money than any other pro
sport team the cowboy so what has he actually lost?
Nothing.
But listen, Jerry's a smart businessman.
Jerry loves it.
Jerry's always about that bottom line.
Jerry's always about the dollar.
But the bottom line is up here.
I know, he's already up there.
But how do we even climb that ladder a little higher?
How do we double your net worth?
How do we double the revenue
that the cowboys already bring in how do we set ourself apart even further apart from all the
other sports teams how do we do that by winning maybe changing your ways and your approach to the
game that you choose not to can do just that as a businessman but But see, now there goes to my theory.
Somebody else going to get the credit.
See what you did, Ocho?
You took the credit from me.
No, I can't let you do that, Ocho.
I can't let you do that, Ocho.
There's no way.
There's no way you really think Jerry
is really worried about the credit.
When you think about the Cowboys,
the first thing you think of is Jerry Jones.
He fired Jimmy Johnson after back-to-back Super Bowls.
Now you tell me what he's thinking.
That might've been something personal
between those two that we don't even know about.
What do you think?
So in other words, you think for the last two decades,
Mr. Kraft and Bill Belichick saw eye to eye on everything.
No.
You see the difference?
Yes, sir.
One guy didn't care about who got the credit.
Because guess what?
He was going to be the first guy to touch the Lombardi anyway.
Anyway.
Paul Tagliabue, Roger Goodell would say,
hey, they talked to Mr. Crabb first, handed him the trophy.
He passes it on to Bill Belichick.
He passes it on to Tom Brady.
You see what happens?
Yeah.
Boom.
Now.
Think about this.
Have you ever heard in pro sports history,
somebody winning back-to-back championships
and your best players are all under the age of 27, 28?
Michael, Emmitt, and Troy.
Right.
Where they do that at?
That's crazy.
That would have been the equivalent of them
firing, after Phil Jackson won those
first two titles, they fired Phil Jackson.
Scotty, Michael.
Whoa, you firing Phil?
Right.
Now you see how asinine it actually sounds when you think about it.
And the funny thing about it, since Jerry loved to talk so much, since he's always in front of the camera, obviously you would remember better than I do during that time.
What was the reasoning behind the firing?
Did Jerry come out and say something or now he didn't like
he didn't like because he got his indoctrination of being an owner from al davis right al davis
was very hands-on al davis was in the front and everybody was okay with that jimmy if you know
jimmy jimmy is jimmy jimmy run jimmy run the tight ship jimmy is Jimmy is Jimmy. Jimmy runs a tight ship.
When you say tight ship, you mean like Tom Coughlin tight?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I speak to the team.
The owner doesn't speak to the team.
The first word that they hear is my voice.
The last word they hear is my voice. The last word they hear is my voice.
Jimmy kept him at a distance.
Jerry Seed.
Did you hear what you
just said? Jimmy kept him at
a distance.
You just
answered it. Jimmy kept him at a
distance and what did they do when Jimmy kept him at a distance?
They won how many Super Bowls?
They won two.
Goddamn.
But then what did I tell you?
They was winning, but Jerry didn't get their credit.
Thank you.
That's what I've been telling you.
Okay.
Then you know what?
He don't want it as bad as he say he does then.

I'm going to ask Attorney General...

Unc sends Ocho his fan mail.
Y'all got that wrong.
I'm going to keep this one.
You going to keep it for real?
Yeah.
You know my address, though.
I ain't never seen it. What's the call again? Funco. You gonna keep it for real? Yeah. You know my address, though. Mm-mm.
I ain't never see.
What's the call again?
Fun Co.
Chad Johnson, number 85.
He got a little scully on.
He got some glasses.
He got a cheeseburger in his hand.
And he got a soccer ball.
What? With a microphone with a soccer ball at the top of it.
You serious?
Can you see it?
Yeah, I can see it.
But because it's in the plastic, it's hard to get a... Hold on. I at the top of it. You serious? Can you see it? Yeah, I can see it, but because it's in the
plastic, it's hard to get a...
Hold on, I'm finna Google it.
I'm finna Google it real quick.
It's custom made. This is
one-on-one. This is you. This is a one-on-one.
Wait, that's a one? How you gonna
keep my one-on-one? Easy.
Let me show how I do keep your one-on-one.
Watch this.
See what I did right there with you?
That's how I kept it.
Wait.
You're going to put me in the back?
Yeah.
You say I'm going to keep it.
I'm going to keep it right there.
You got to send me that, huh?
You got to send me that.
Hey, he got a cheeseburger in there for real?
Yeah, he got a cheeseburger in your right hand.
You got a microphone with a soccer ball on the left hand.
You got your beanie on and you got your sunglasses.
Hey, that's me.
That's me because I got it.
Hey, send me that.
Send me that.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to do that.
They say the U.S. Postal Service is down for the next six months.
Oh, Amazon works just fine. Who is Amazon? The Ripper? going to be able to do that. They say the U.S. Postal Service is down for the next six months.
Amazon worked just fine. Who is Amazon?
The River?
I'm talking about my homeboy Jeff.
Yeah, my homeboy Jeff.
No. Hey,
you see us in the background, Ocho?
Oh, wait till you see mine.
Wait till you see mine. I got
two more weeks before
I'm in the new place. Hey, can you hear the echo in here?
Yeah. Ain't no, ain't no furniture. I mean, everything already gone and I'm, I'm, I'm moving in two more weeks.
Oh, so you have a nightcap sign too? Hey, listen, I ain't going to say it. Because when we do the show, not next week, week after next,
there's a whole new game room, everything set up, my nightcap sign,
my posters, my jerseys.
Yeah, you're going to like it.
Ocho, the Chiefs have dethroned the Cowboys as the most hated team in the NFL, data shows.
The Cowboys, you're no longer the NFL's most hated team.
According to new data, Kansas City Chiefs have drawn our as the most hated NFL team, according to fans.
Keep in mind, this data was also before the Super Bowl.
So guess what happened, Ocho?
The gap's going to get even larger.
Yeah.
The Chiefs have been to the past six AFC championship games and have played in four of the past and for the past five Super Bowl winning three of them.
Same thing happened to the Patriots. Yeah. Yeah. It comes with the territory.
It comes with the territory, any sport, any individual. When you win consistently, they get tired of seeing you.
Yeah. They get tired of seeing you. And there's really it's not a bad thing. That's just the nature of the business.
It's the nature of life in general.
When you're winning at something,
when you're winning at something,
there are people that despise you
for no reason.
For no reason at all.
Because the point of doing anything in life
is to succeed at it.
Yes.
To be the best at it.
Yes.
And that is what the Chiefs continue to do.
Should you be commended?
Oh, man.
Ocho. Man, you see Ocho. He came out of Liberty City. Yeah Yes. And that is what the Chiefs continue to do. Should you be commended? Oh, man. Ocho.
Man, you see Ocho.
He came out of Liberty City.
Yeah.
Oh, Blond stayed with his grandma.
His mom was dealing with some alcohol issues.
And you know what?
He made it out.
Went to Juco.
Went to Oregon State.
Made it to the NFL.
Took care of his family.
Now he's a media sensation.
That should be commended.
Yes. I know somebody know what you're talking about firsthand yeah oh you know that guy ocho yeah i know him
i know hey i know they used to look ain't nobody had a bad thing to say about your boy the favorite
at all at all remember you and i talked about that i said oh joe remember when complex named me
most uh what most entertaining sports uh personality yes sir that's why we're down here
we're down here from there listen and they'll never be able to take that away from you because
it's only up from here it's only up from here so if they if they if they mad now tell them to get
a nice seat tell them to get a nice seat they Tell them to get a nice seat if they're mad now because they ain't seen nothing yet.
They ain't seen nothing yet.
You know what, Ocho? I was talking to my sister today
and she
crystallized it for me. She made me
see things clear.
I'm talking about crystal clear.
I'm talking about abundantly clear.
She said, Shannon,
do you think
you could have be as successful as you are?
Be on ESPN first take in the ratings, do what they do when you're on the show.
Have two podcasts.
That's typically in the top five in both Apple and Spotify podcast.
Do what you do.
If you had more haters than supporters
come on your cognac is sharing your cognac is sold out because every time look i don't need
to order any of it but every time i try to go they said it's sold out yeah so sold out cognac
two podcasts that's in the top five nobody else else can say customarily, but one of them always is in the top five.
Right.
ESPN first take.
Do you think if your haters outnumbered your supporters, that could be possible?
No.
I like that.
I'm driving to go do a shoot a taping.
And I was like, Buck, you're right.
She said, so don't worry about it.
Right.
Like I said, when I go out and I do these bottle signings at Total Wines, Tower, all those, man, the love.
Yeah.
I mean, Ocho, you think about gifts.
Hey, I brought you this shirt.
Man, I bought you this.
I bought you that.
I bought you some candles.
I bought you this. man i bought you this i bought you that i bought you some candles i bought you this oh i appreciate what you do but i needed her to you know you feel like
damn but they but they at my neck no yeah like but shannon look at the success that you're having
right right that's not possible with more haters than supporters And this is the funny thing about it is when things hit social media, right?
Yes.
It's somewhat of the real world,
but it's a very small percentage.
It is.
A very small percentage.
Yeah.
And when you get out into the real world
and you get to experience that real love,
everywhere you go,
it gives you a better understanding.
Right.
It gives you clarity
on how many people support
and love what you're doing.
They got to. It will always be like that that that's why i say outside of social media you got to be able to get out because your flowers gonna come from everywhere no matter where you go yeah no matter where you go
and it's a great feeling man it's a beautiful feeling and uh uh and then once somebody sees
something that goes viral then everybody will start piggybacking that.
But I know total wines.
Hey,
I need somebody else to go in front of total wines and put on that green outfit.
Yeah.
Because they just ordered 2000 more cases.
So go,
Hey,
I need everybody.
Hey,
y'all,
y'all,
y'all that did it.
I need y'all.
I need y'all some more people to go do it because total wine just order 2000 more cases.
So I appreciate that.
Hey, chestnut checkers. Hey, y'all some more people to go do it because Total Wine just ordered 2,000 more cases. So I appreciate that.
Hey,
chestnut checkers, huh? Hey, as a matter of fact,
I need somebody to go in front of Tower.
Tower Liquors right there. Hey, y'all go in front of them too. So they can put a
P.O. in for 2,000
cases. I don't think people understand.
You have many out here that are trying to
be funny, but behind the scenes, not
understanding the due diligence that they're doing for you.
Because you walk and you want straight to the bank with it.
All right.
Straight, straight.
Listen, straight to the bank with it.
So you get to get your ass off.
But on the back end, it ain't nothing but a blessing on you coming, coming your way.
And, you know, we talked about this.
Oh, sure.
Everybody was talking about, well, how much money I made during the Cat Williams interview.
Whatever you think, I just got the check.
So whatever you think I made, three exit.
Let me see.
So if you think I made $500,000, three exit.
If you think I made a million, three exit.
If you think I made $2 million, three exit.
Let me see it.
Let me see it.
I got me a little Saturday day with Ocho.
Look at that, Ocho.
Oh.
I got a little John Mayer.
Hey, hold on.
Hold on.
What's that?
That's the John Mayer.
Discontinue.
Hold on.
John Mayer.
Wait, the guitar player?
Your body's a wonderland.
You know what I'm saying?
That's what I be saying, Ocho.
I got gravity.
Yeah.
You know, I be talking. My pockets is a wonderland. You know what I'm saying'll be saying i got gravity yeah you know i'll be i'll be talking my pockets
is a wonderland hey hey john mayer who he partnered with on on that watch no a lot of times like
that's what they call it because he wore it and it caught fire yeah it caught fire because they
saw him have it on and so they they dubbed it the John Mayer.
John Mayer.
Oh, but who's the maker?
Rolex.
Rolex.
I'm going to get that John Mayer on these pussy.
Yeah, I did.
Yeah, I did.
Yeah, I did.
I did.
I did.
So I ain't going to start jockeying and jockeying and jockeying to be a G.
I see.
I got my Rolex on tonight tonight, too, though.
Oh, yeah.
You got that sub.
You got that sub.
You got that sub, man.
The gold majority.
The gold majority.
So that's the way.
Hey, look here.
Because guess what happened, Ocho?
Man, Total Wines hit a sub that said, well, hold on.
Yes, sir.
We want some of that.
So thanks to y'all, I'm about to be in California and said, well, hold on. Yes, sir. We want some of that. So thanks to y'all.
I'm about to be in California, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Baltimore.
So keep on doing it.
I need y'all to keep on doing it.
Hey, don't you stop now.
Don't y'all hate and mofo.
Stop.
Yeah.
Take y'all ass, raggedy ass, right back in front of the Total Wines and do it all over again.
Because thanks to y'all, you boy.
Hey, that's a blessing, man.
That's a blessing.
That's dope.
That's live.
That's live.
That's live.
That's live.
They try to be cute.
They're going to retire for O'Shea before he want to retire.
Y'all, that's live, man.
That ain't nothing but a blessing.
Oh, man.
Hey, you see how God work?
Yeah.
You see how God work? You. You see how God works?
You know what she told me?
She said, Shannon, let it roll off.
She said, sometimes you can fall out of God's favor by your actions and your words.
I'm done with it.
I'm done with it, old child.
I will get this paper.
I will get this paper.
So whatever y'all think I made.
So I know this is going to go viral, man.
Three exits.
Yes.
Yes.
Put it like this here.
I made more money on cat weaves alone than I made in any year that I played the NFL.
Ooh.
Boy, you better talk.
Boy.
Hey, do me a favor.
That's that old cat. Yay yay they didn't believe in me
cat did
I got a question for you
throw something on the floor for me
I'm going to pick it up
I ain't even
going to hesitate
oh man
oh I can't cover it
oh
this thing about to oh they see the
shit they see the shit listen you ain't got you ain't got to tell me you ain't got to tell me
twice you ain't got to tell me twice because i ain't gonna listen to you on the third time
i already know what time it is boy i should appreciate it i'm gonna say man but here's
the thing my sister don't really have social media
right so you know like if i send her something now she got to go download the app then she get it
and then guess what as soon as she read what she gonna read she delete it i said why don't you just
leave it up you don't have to go to it she said because i don't i don't need to see that foolishness
that man and so she saw all the stuff and people were saying it to you. See what they say about your brother.
And, you know, obviously I'm a baby brother.
Yeah.
So obviously she's going to feel some type of weight.
So this was early this morning because, you know, she's back on the East Coast.
I'm on the West Coast.
So when I wake up and turn over to my phone book, I call a book.
I'm like, dang.
So, you know, anytime I see a message from it, it's early in the morning because i get up around six o'clock to take the dog for a walk she done left me a text
message so i'm always gonna check it because it might be something hey somebody might left a
message from her phone hey your sister blah blah blah did i got to make it happen right and so when
she left me that i was like damn i I'll hit her when I get back.
So I had a couple of meetings today that ran long and I'm driving.
And she's like, I called her.
She said, you get my, I said, I said, Buck, you know, I got the check.
She said, okay, you, so what you, I said, I'm good.
I said, I'm good.
I said, I'm good.
I'm real good.
God is good.
Nah, God ain't good.
God great.
Yeah. Yeah. God is great. All, God ain't good. God great. Yeah.
Yeah. God is great.
All the time.
Oh man.
Oh,
Joe,
did you hear what I said?
I said the cat Williams interview,
that one interview,
I made more money on that one interview than I,
than I did at any one year of my NFL career.
Now y'all go look up my NFL career and see what my highest earning year was. And Cat
did that. Cat did.
Thank you, Cat.
Oh yeah, for sure. Thank you, Cat.
And then followed up with Monique.
Oh, Monique hit it out there.
Y'all sleep now. She about
14 mil.
Shit.
Shit. And I get 3% too? shit shit
and I get
and I get
and I get
and I get 3% too
hey
hey
and check this out
what you call them
uh uh uh
and then uh
Country Wayne
and see
them three majors
they adds up too
yeah
hold on
listen
all that add up
oh it all
it all add up
ain't nothing I know what I do I don't know I know what I'ma do now you know what I'm going to do now.
You know what, I might go ahead.
You know, I might go.
I'm going on vacation.
Now you say we ain't taking no vacation.
I'm not until June.
OK, put your hands out.
And I'm over here.
So I yeah, I did not put your hands down.
We go.
You got you got you got four week.
And you go get another four weeks. You got eight weeks.
So enjoy. Don't call me either.
Tell me I got an idea.
I got to sleep.
And the first thing I get a message,
I thought you had to sleep, but I had this idea.
So when you
on vacation, I want no ideas.
Sit on them.
I like it.
I'm Michael Kasson, founder
and CEO of 3C Ventures and
your guide on Good Company, the podcast
where I sit down with the boldest innovators
shaping what's next.
In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali
Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation
that's anything but ordinary.
We dive into the competitive world of streaming,
how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold,
connecting audiences with stories
that truly make them feel seen.
What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core.
It's this idea that there's so many stories out there,
and if you can find a way to curate
and help the right person discover the right content,
the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide.
And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the
most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In the fall of 1986,
Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal
that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second.
I'm going to ask...
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra,
you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal
that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago,
but which few of us still remember today.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane,
I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Coach, yo, check this out. NFL.com ranks Russell Wilson the fifth best free agent quarterback
behind Baker and Tannehill.
Kirk Cousins is ranked number one.
Jacoby Brissett is number two.
Baker Mayfield is number three.
Ryan Tannehill is number four.
Jameis Winston is number six.
Russell is five, obviously.
And Gardner Minshew is number seven.
I'm not taking Jacoby Brissette or Ryan Tannehill over us.
I'm sorry.
I'm not.
I have a question.
When they do these numbers on who's the best free agent quarterback available,
what are they basing it off of?
Because when you look at resume,
when you look at the resume of the people that are available this offseason, one resume stands out above all the rest.
Yeah.
Based on accomplishments and what they've done in the past.
But it's not even close.
It's not even close.
So I'm trying to get a better understanding.
Are they basing it off the previous season?
Because when Russell Wilson played for the Broncos the first year, it was bad.
Last year, it wasn't that goddamn bad. It wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be. season because when Russell Wilson played for the Broncos the first year it was bad last year it
wasn't that goddamn bad it wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be well Kirk Cousins didn't
play he played a couple of games he tore his Achilles now he's coming off an Achilles injury
injury yeah and he ranked number one Jacoby Brissett really oh Jacoby Brissett yeah really
yeah yeah I mean y'all say okay get it. Russ didn't play well.
If you look at the totality of it,
Rose rep,
Russ didn't play well,
but Russ has never had a year worse than what Jacoby percent.
Jacoby percent is not even,
it's a,
why is this even,
why is this even a discussion?
And Ryan Tannehill better than Russ.
I think Baker,
Baker had a better year last year.
He was a stable system. Matter of fact, I hope he goes back to Tampa. It was Baker. It was Baker's best better year last year. He was a stable system.
I hope he goes back to Tampa.
It was Baker's best year statistically as a quarterback.
So I'm assuming they're not going to make a mistake over there.
I hope not.
You got to sign him back.
You got to sign him back and keep that momentum going
and the chemistry between him and Mike Evans.
If I'm not mistaken, Mike Evans just signed back two years.
He just re-signed two years, I think, $54, $56 million.
Got 35 guaranteed.
That's great money for him.
No state taxes.
He just, I don't think, a lot of times,
guys don't really want to leave.
But if you don't want me,
I'm going to go somewhere where I want it.
Now, I'm not so sure he would have given somebody else
this discount
because to get me to leave my home, uproot my family. And I think, don't quote me on this,
but I think he got kids and he's probably got kids that's in school, probably first grade,
kindergarten, first grade, something like that to uproot his family and go somewhere else.
You got to play a premium. And you got to understand, speaking of premium, do you understand the kind of money that Mike Evans would have commanded
if he was a hit that damn market?
I don't care if the 50 would have paid more than that for him.
Man, what?
Do you understand the command that he would be able to generate
based on his success in previous seasons and consistency year in and year out?
Shit.
Boy, that would have been beautiful for Mike.
But they did right by him, though.
They did.
And Ochoa, I don't think Mike Evans
really wanted to leave.
I mean, you spend 10 years in a location.
Yeah, it was, you know, hey.
He did what he was supposed to do.
They didn't believe in it,
but God did.
And you see the numbers that he put up.
Come on now.
So,
okay.
What y'all gonna do?
I don't want to leave,
but I will.
Right.
They came through with a clutch two years.
Hey,
he gets to stay in a place that he's comfortable with.
Stay in Tampa.
He's set roots up in the community.
Wife is happy.
Kid's happy.
He's happy.
I love this situation for Mike Evans.
I love Mike.
Mike Evans has had enough.
Mike Evans has had maybe one of the most underrated career for receiver in
the last 30 years.
Mike Evans got damn near a hundred touchdowns.
Hey,
10,000,
10 years
thousand yard receiving
every year. No receiver's ever done that.
Every year.
Consistency, reliable.
Yeah, almost 12,000
yards. I mean, he's on, I mean, Mike Evans
has had
up until this point an unbelievable
career. Yep. And I believe
it's going to continue.
Yeah, most definitely most definitely oh joe the bills pay the price for going all in and still failing bills file it hey you remember
the housing crisis in 2008 when everybody got those those interest-only loans but it was going
to have a balloon payment so you're going to be able to live in that house paying nothing but the interest on it.
But you better hope somebody come along and buy that house
and get you up out of it. Because
when that balloon payment come due,
okay, the balloon payment came
due on the Buffalo Bills. Six
players in total were cut with
two more restructuring their contract.
Tredavious White,
gone. Jordan Poirier, gone.
Mitch Morris, gone. Sirion Neal, gone. De Poirier, gone. Mitch Morris, gone. Siriann Neal, gone.
Deontay Hardy, gone. Naheem Hines, gone. You see, when you go all in like that, Ocho, you got to get
one because you're going to, just like the Rams. Remember the Rams won the Super Bowl? They tried
to bring it back and when they could, what'd they do? They broke it up. They broke it up. Yeah,
every time. I think, so if they were to try to to keep Hoyer, Hines, and some of the other young fellas, would it have been a salary cap casualty?
Was anybody's salary that, was that crazy where they couldn't run it back one more time?
There's a small window of opportunity that you have where you got to get it, like you just said.
Has that window passed?
The question is, they're probably going to lose
Floyd,
one of the outstanding
linebackers. Vaughn, what are
you going to do with him?
Vaughn restructured to come back.
Okay.
The middle linebacker.
Milano.
Milano. He comes back
from an injury.
And he nice.
Yeah.
Okay.
Micah Hyde is gone.
Poirier is gone.
Tredavious White is gone.
So three-fourths of your secondary
is going to be elsewhere next year.
Leonard Floyd is gone.
Right.
So that's the problem.
You got to have some type of veteran presence
back there somewhere.
Well, I think the thing is, Ocho, you like, you hope the,
because think about what Kansas City did.
Look at, Kansas City's done an outstanding job.
They was young, man.
They young.
Look at that secondary.
But look who they have at the defensive coordinator.
Yeah, Spag get them right.
Spag gets you right.
I'm not sure who the defensive coordinator is in Buffalo,
but does he have
the same type? Sean McDermott was
Leslie Frazier.
Leslie Frazier, no,
Leslie left because Sean McDermott
wanted to take over the play calling.
And so Leslie was like, well, nah, bro,
because if you take over the play calling, I'm never
going to get a head coaching job.
So he left.
Sean took over.
And, well, we saw what happened.
Yeah.
Gabe Davis is probably going to leave.
They're going to probably look to do something.
And the question, I love that the tight ends are good.
Kincaid is really good.
I like Kincaid.
Kincaid is nice.
The question is, Diggs,
where is his head at, Ocho?
On the field?
It's on the field?
It's on the
field. When it's time to play
ball, it's on the field.
If you look at the targets that
he got for the production that he gave
you, it didn't match, Ocho.
I'm just keeping the stack with you.
It didn't match.
As far as the – I don't have the numbers in front of me.
I don't have the numbers in front of me.
And, obviously, to me, Diggs is the top five receiver in this NFL.
Top five?
Yeah.
Wait.
Okay, CD.
You taking Diggs over CD?
Tyreek.
That's two right there.
Okay.
Keep going.
Okay.
So where are we going to start?
Let's start.
Okay.
Wait.
I'm trying to understand.
When was Diggs not a top five receiver in this NFL?
I don't think he was a top five last year.
Has he been a top five yet?
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.... think he was a top five last year okay okay okay okay okay okay oh wow i was gonna say hold on now
this is because we talk about the same digs yeah this is stephan dig the elite route runner
stephan digs yes because you do what we ask you to do in the nfl we ask you to update that resume
you don't get to stay in the top five just because you've been in the top five hey but guess what
can i tell you something yeah like it's only one way it's only one way to start stay in the top
five you know those opportunities have to come those those
opportunities have to continue to come look at his targets and look at his catches put you know
what give me his targets that's all we gotta do we gotta put these targets up yeah yes sir yes sir
i don't i wish i had it in front of you i need that i need that concoction that you got will you
that you have on the side where you can pull everything up like that.
You got to tell me
what that is
so I can get me one.
No.
I don't want you to get one.
I want to be able
to step ahead of you.
We'll get you to it.
We'll have the,
what you call them,
we'll have the volume
and get you out one.
I appreciate it.
I like that.
As you're looking for it,
look.
I just,
I,
I,
when it comes to playing, when it comes to playing receiver and understanding that sometimes you have down years, there are many factors that come into play when those years aren't as efficient as you'd like, especially when numbers are down.
Numbers are down usually for a specific reason.
It's because the targets and opportunities aren't as often as they used to be.
Check this out. talk to me now josh allen will see a massive jump in his base salary he goes from 1.8 1.08 so he made 1 million 8 000 now he goes to 23.5 million oh that's why
they're getting rid of everybody delphi digs goes from 1.16 million to 18.5
million.
Oh, now I get it.
Okay, now that gives me a better understanding.
That's a big jump. Big jump.
Well, those two
ain't going nowhere. Right.
Those two ain't going nowhere, but now I get a better
understanding on why the safeties
are being let go the way they have. And this
wasn't just the Buffalo Bills.
No, you got to do that.
They did the same thing in Denver, too.
Yes.
But look here, the thing is, and I know people have thought,
but Sean Payton kept the New Orleans Saints in salary cap hell.
Go back and look at his track record.
Right, right, right.
I'm not breaking news.
You know, I'm not interrupting your normally scheduled program
in to break this to you.
Go back and look at the New Orleans Saints.
Sean Payton kept them in salary cap here.
He was constantly
robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Hey,
say that again. You were what?
He was constantly robbing Peter to pay
Paul. Well, you've been in your Bible, boy.
Yeah. You've been in your Bible.
It is what it is.
You know, hey, y'all know what I think about the Broncos,
but they don't get to, just because I played for you for 12 years
and you've been great to me, you don't get to get exempt, escape criticism.
Wrong is wrong, right is right.
Speaking of, since you just mentioned the Broncos,
could you please explain to me how serious they are about winning and how are they going to win without anybody at the helm to run the show?
Look, I've only been around the Bronco ownership, the Walton Pinner delegation once.
I've been, well, that Saturday night, that Friday night, that Saturday night.
Right.
They're very serious about winning.
Yes.
Okay.
Because you have to understand.
Yes, sir.
All they've done is win.
Then Walmart.
They don't lose.
I'm so glad you said that.
I'm so glad you said it.
It's why I fucking love you.
They've always won in business.
They've always won in business.
So how do you win in business?
By using your money, using your money, but you can't throw money around in a game of football.
You have to understand, you have to have patience. You have to have patience because
on the side of business, when it comes to Walmart and the other ventures that they're into,
when you put money into it, you have instant success and instant turnaround. It doesn't
work like that in football. it doesn't work like that
in football it doesn't work like that and i think they need to understand that because they don't
have a football background they think well if you throw a lot of money at it all of a sudden
they're gonna turn around and we're gonna win that's not how it works right and uh and those
receivers i didn't put justin jefferson and jamar chase in that group that was just i just named
four but i know we don't need to go we don't need to go no further. We're going to leave that alone.
I got you.
I got you.
Yeah, you're absolutely right, Ocho.
And so that's what happened.
You,
Diggs was sixth in targets.
He had 160 targets.
Yes, sir.
He was seventh in reception,
407.
But what was his touchdown?
But it was like,
he went like,
he went like the last six or seven weeks and we didn't have a hundred yard
game because he started out like gangbusters.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh,
I watched those games.
I watched,
I watched those games.
Now for me,
again,
I always say when you want to get an individual to ball,
they can get you to ball.
No matter what digs plays all over the place.
He plays all over the place.
So again, I always go back to what
Hukunukul was able to do with the Rams.
Yeah.
And there should be no excuse.
If you're serious about winning
and understanding the player that you have in Diggs,
there should be no reason
why you can't manipulate the offense
and find ways to get him the ball
because of the type of player he is.
He's special.
He's special.
But again, what do they do?
They allow the teams that they played
to dictate where the ball goes.
They allow the teams that they played
to dictate where the
ball goes.
I watched the games on the
back end of the season. I'm saying, what are we doing?
Why are we not getting Diggs involved in
some of these games, knowing what he can do?
But I'm with you
when you're right.
I think they. Diggs,
I think they said
Diggs had 107 receptions
for 1,183 yards
and eight touchdowns.
Right.
He had five 100-yard games,
but I don't think
when the last one.
He had 500-yard games
in the first six weeks.
So the last 11 weeks
of the season,
he didn't post 100 yard game they
plan around no no disrespect they they plan around they plan around and you know you know
what's gonna happen you said he had 160 targets right yes sometimes those targets sometimes those
targets not even catchable sometimes those targets right or out of bounds but as long as the ball is
coming your way i would love to know exactly out of those
160 targets how many of those balls were catchable well we know that we we saw we saw two or three of
them against the kansas city chief that was catchable and he didn't catch him you remember
that i i remember one just the one uh the one that was a hard catch the over the over there
ain't no hard catch that's a that's a the shot. You just told me the man top five.
He is.
And I could name something in the top five that are the top five right now.
I've also dropped balls, too.
But I ain't going to go there.
It ain't when they drop.
It's not if you drop them.
It's when you drop them.
When you drop them.
That's a good one.
Hey, listen.
Come on now.
You got my back against the wall now.
I'm throwing as many punches as I can.
NFL's making it clear safeties are no longer worth the money.
It's not a team that released.
It's not often that teams release four-time all-pro safeties coming off another all-pro season.
Never did that to Justin Simmons.
Man, who else?
Xavier McKinney got released.
Quandre Diggs got released.
Jordan Poirier got released.
Rashard Jenkins got released Jordan Poirier got released Rashard Jenkins got released that Rashard Jenkins
Justin Simmons was a top three safety for me
yeah got range great
tackle tackler great
hands
I mean I mean
bro y'all made that
investment in Russ 85 million
and you decided to move on
right wait hold on
that's what that's
what's difficult is when you make decisions like that man other other people other players have to
bear a couple you know take the brunt of that because you got 85 million in dead cap space
that you got to spread out over two years so basically you're gonna have 42.5 million and that you can't use
for the next two years so what what is what is the end goal what's the end goal why are they doing
this i guess they're gonna break it down and try to build it back up that's what that's what i deduce
because you get rid of russ you get justin sim, you get Justin Simmons, who's been a captain,
who's been great in the community.
Not just great in the community.
He's been great in the locker room. He's been a great
player for the Broncos.
And so you move on from two
of your captains, Russ and him.
He was the captain of the defense.
He was a great player. You might lose Jewel,
who's one of the top tacklers
in the NFL.
Like I said said they do have a first round pick they gave up an awful lot to get russ
and it didn't materialize in the way that they'd hope well i mean again it didn't materialize in
the way that they hope but this is football this is not business this is not the corporate world
where you throw money at some in
order for and you think you want your investment to turn around and you may and it shows in the
corporate world they do the same thing ocho they call a write down they'll write that down put it
in this year as a loss boom get the tax write off and they keep it moving and keep it moving
unfortunately the nfl doesn't work like that you take a hit for it yeah you can't i mean i guess
they do write it off but i'm saying for salary cap purposes it goes as dead money that you can't use
against your cap yeah well listen it's gonna be a rude awakening it's gonna be oh yeah it's gonna
be it's gonna be a rude awakening but one you got to find you somebody special you got to find you
somebody special at the quarterback position because if you don't find anybody special at the quarterback position, it's going to be a rude awakening.
A long, long season.
They had a chance to draft Josh Allen.
That might have helped.
But it doesn't matter who you draft.
If you don't know how to use him, you're wasting his time.
You're wasting his time and you're wasting your time yeah but hey i sure missed those days with payton with that we
had four great we had some years with payton that's all i can right now bronco country that's
all we got right now that's all we can hold our hat on is that the night has happened long long
time ago and you had Payton for what?
Three years,
12,
13,
14,
15,
four years,
four years.
He got a Superbowl out of there.
Got a Superbowl out of it.
Yeah.
So,
um,
Justin Simmons played his,
but plays his best games against Patrick Mahomes.
I think he has,
he has more interceptions against Mahomes
than any other player.
He has five career interceptions.
No other player has more than two.
So I wish Justin Simmons the best.
He and his wife, they were great in the community.
They were great for the Broncos.
So I want to personally wish him all the best moving
forward, but he won't be on the market very
long because he's still very, very talented.
I have one question.
Before we move on to the next topic,
do you think safeties
are now becoming
not as valued
similar to the running back position?
Or not that bad?
I don't think it's that bad.
Okay.
Let me ask you a question. If you had a back like Barry Sanders, you think they'd pay him? I don't think it's that bad okay okay because if you but the question
let me ask you a question
if you had a bag
if you had a bag
like Barry Sanders
you think they'd pay him
like Barry yeah
if you had a bag
like Emile Smith
you think they'd pay him
oh yeah
so basically
basically what you're saying
if you're a safety
out there right now
and you're not
if you're Ed Reed
or Troy Polamalu
you think you'd get
shit man
you're breaking
the goddamn bank you hear me you're breaking if you add read a troy palomaro you think you get shit man you breaking the goddamn bank you hear me you bring you you breaking the bank breaking the bank you can do so much you can
do so much more defensively when you have that kind of player that kind of player you can do so
much earl thomas when earl was with uh beato oh man listen you can do so much
so much more your playbook
opens up exponentially
uh oh I almost said that wrong exponentially
exponentially yes
exponentially defensively your coordinator
as a coordinator you can do so much more when you have
special players
that was a big word for me too

In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
