People don't normally have birthday parties on a weekday. Normally, I say normally. Hey, you know, it's spring break. but go ahead.

playing. We've been having some mislapses. We probably got to play like a perfect game, but I think everybody on my team is ready to go. We're not scared. Our non-conference kind of prepared us for this moment. We played a lot of big teams doing our non-conference. I mean, in the end of the sport didn't look. but doing them games was right there with him. So we know we were going up against.

That's what's up, bro. Dante, you know the biggest thing is weathering the storm early. You know they're going to try to swim. You mentioned the size disparities that they have in their favor. So you know they're going to try to pressure. You try to speed your front and turn you over and try to get out to the big lead. And then, you know, hey, say, well, we're going to save our legs. If you can weather the storm early, make them get late into the ball game

and you're still hanging around. Now the pressure shifts to on them. They're supposed to get you guys out of there. They're probably a 40, 50 point favorite, but you have other plans. Yes, sir. That's true. That's definitely true.

So what kind of expect, welcome do you expect to get back when you go back to prayer? The Miami of Ohio Red Hawks beat the SMU Mustang by the score of 89 to 79. Remember, they started their tournament. They're the only team that hadn't lost the regular season game. And then they get into the tournament and they lose right away. And they were on the cusp. I mean, many didn't think they were going to get in, but they get in in the playing tournament. And they beat SMU by the score of 89 to 79 to 79.

They put four players in double figures, and they basically led from start to finish, and they win this ballgame, 89, 79. Ocho, are you surprised that even at what? They were 30, I think there were 30 and O going into the tournament. And they were all basically had to get into the play in order to get to the Final 64. Are you surprised with a record that they had in the regular season? They still needed to be in the playing just.

I mean, obviously I'm not sure how that really works, especially with a team that played as well as them and had to be in the goddamn playing. But obviously, they made their statement and they made their presence felt the night. That goddamn Alma, boy, he was phenomenal. Obviously, he played 24 minutes. He had 23 points.

Man, man, from three point, he was, wait, we were 8, 11? Six and nine? No, he was six and nine from three. Man, hell, goddamn. How do you say that? Skyjack? Is it a Skyjack?

Skyjack? He had 17. Byers had 19. Man, them boys was bawling. And the fact that they had the plan to play in, And I really don't understand why they had to play from the plan based on what I saw tonight and watching them play. They played really good basketball from start to goddamn finish. Obviously, SMU closed the gap a little bit.

I think it might have been the third quarter. But, listen, after that, I mean, talking about third quarter. In the second half, man, young bull started hitting them threes back-to-back, Joe. Man, it wasn't done doing, boy. Man, listen. Oh, Joe, the Miami of Ohio playing in that. at mid-American conference. Yeah, yes.

And SMU playing in the ACCC. They've been tried and tested, playing against some of the top teams in the nation. And I don't think Miami of Ohio has been tested. Now, I think the best thing for them was them losing coming into this game. Okay, Ocho, because I'm sure they probably wanted the undefeated season,

but they came into this game, already coming off a loss. You know, I knew they were trying to bounce back some way somehow to prove that they're still one of the top teams in the NCAA tournament. So kudos to Miami of Ohio, bro. They came out and played well. And, hey, hey, the white boys, they got ain't no punks over there.

Yeah. Hey, hey, they buckled down. They made shots. They played hard. They competed, bro. They competed. It was a fun game to watch. Hey, hey, Joe, you know, Joe, son, played with SMU.

Yeah, I seen him out there. Jay-O. J-O. I seen him out there. Jay-O-Neal. Oh, yeah. He didn't get but a few minutes, but you look at Boobie Miller, the guy from SMU, that's their best player.

He had such an off night. He had an injury to that team, bro. You know, if he's playing well going, got it going, then they front run and they're playing well. But he struggled. He struggled tonight. But that's the thing, Joe, you know, like in the NCAA tournament, it's hard to overcome if your best player. Because most teams are so dependent on their best player. It's not like, you know, like in the NBA, all those guys are really, really good.

But normally, you've got one or two guys that's head and shoulders above everybody else on the team. And if one of those guys have an off night, very, very real, it could happen, but it happens rarely in college that your best player is off and you're able to over combat. Yeah, yeah. And that's why, you know, that's what happens. And if you are a junior senior-laden team, that's why Yukon has been able to win those back-to-back titles because if you look at those guys,

those are older guys. Yeah. It's hard to put you asking 17, 18-year-olds who's been the number one guy on their team for as long as they can remember. Now he's playing with three, four, five other five-star guys. We got to share the ball. Yeah.

It's hard to blend that. That's why you see it so infrequently that as talented as Duke has been, they don't win when they got seven, eight, five-star guys. Right, right. Kentucky, when they had buggy cousins and John Wall and all those guys, they didn't win year after year, after year after year, because it's hard to get 17-year-olds

to play together when they've been, man, now give me 20 shots a night, and now all of a sudden you've got to take that down. Yeah, maybe 18 shots tonight. And Joe, the funny is all about it, to is when you go for playing where you demand and then you go to obviously the next level, obviously college where everyone is somewhat just as good, your shot selection actually decreased,

but you actually have to pick the right shots and then you have to be goddamn efficient. So you can't have off nights. Like, you know, Brother Miller had the night as great as he is. Everything runs through him. Or if you have to have, when you come to tournaments like this, this is when you really don't want to have off nights. You want to be as efficient as possible. If you're not efficient,

the other foe, I need you to make up for what I can't do tonight. Yeah, yeah. Experience matters in college basketball now. This is why when it does. You're recruiting Uncle Ocho, they no longer really recruiting guys straight out of high school unless you're a phenom. You're a five-star. You're a coup of flag.

You want to know a Cameron Boozer. Absolutely. Because college basketball is a business now. It's a professional sport. And they want guys who. proven or who has the talent to be able to compete. That's why in the portal, that's why in college basketball now in the portal, you have to re-recruit your own guys just to see if they're going to come back.

Like, it's crazy now, bro, but everybody wants experience. You have to be, that's why you can go to junior college for two years and still have four years of eligibility at a pile five. But they're doing that in football, Ocho. You know now, unless you, that dog, they're going to get somebody out of the portal. Yeah. They're going to get somebody else quarterback. They're going to get somebody else running back on wide receivers.

Yeah. So that, and Joe is absolutely right. I've got you on contract. And they're like, well, I got to, hey, I got to entice you to stay. So I got to give you an extra hundred, a quarter of a million. I got to buy you a Lambo or Ferrari just to get you to stay. And you are already on my campus. Because, you see what they did.
