Starting point is 00:06:31 Hey, hey, hey, hey, that thing was jumping off the wall. But, uh, Ocho bogus is hell for what he doing. Oh, damn, Joe. God, damn there, damn now, Ocho. Come on with it, Joe. Oh, hey, hey, hey, Joe, go ahead. You bogus is a male, oh, Joe, look, look, look, look, I understand.
Starting point is 00:06:48 I understand your baby girl, you know, her birthday for hell. You knew a birthday was a month ago when you started hollering this shit. Tell him my son. Hey, man, let go to Magic City. Joe, I'm going to come down the ladder. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get him, go. Mind you, mind you, mind you.
Starting point is 00:07:05 We was all on nightcap the night before the game. I'm like, oh, so I'll come swoop you up from the airport, bro. You're throwing this out there because if you want a flake, I'm giving you some opportunities to flake. You know what he said in hollip? I'm going to be there. I'm going to be there. I'm going to get my workout. I'm going to go eat my breakfast.
Starting point is 00:07:23 I'm going to go do soccer at 9 o'clock. And then I'm going to head to there for a day before the 5 minutes to an hour. So boom, look, all I got is this word. That's all I got. That's all you got, Joe. All I got is worried. So boom, the next day come, I set it up, you know, the game is seven. So I set it up for 5 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Mego'll get me a little chump, you know, get me a little haircut. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, hey, hey, Ocho say, if his feet ain't on the wood, the tickets ain't no good. So I'm making so. You, yep. I'm making sure he good. So I'm like, let me get a little cut
Starting point is 00:07:54 because they're probably going to have us on the big, Yeah, they're going to be close up, close up. Yeah, I mean. Camera right down on you, Joe. Yeah, yeah. You know, they got T.I. and they'll perform.
Starting point is 00:08:02 You know what I'm going to be? Hey, mind you, the house on a nine game winning street. Nine, okay. I'm like, boy, look, hey, this is going to be a good game. And, and, and the Orlando Magic's was on a winter street, too.
Starting point is 00:08:19 They had won like six or six or something. seven in a row. They did. Oh, yeah, this is going to be a good game. Boy, me and Ocho picked a hell of a game to come through. I'm getting my hair cut. It's 5.30. My barber say, shout out to my boy, Marry.
Starting point is 00:08:31 My barber say, hey, man, you think Ocho come? I said, yeah, last night he said he's coming. But it's 5.30. I ain't heard from Ocho all day. Hold on, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Joe. Joe, before you go into forever, you mean to tell me the game is that seven.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yeah. It's 530 you getting the cut, and you have not heard from Ocho, because that's not kind of the message that he relayed. Oh, but go ahead. Joe, Titty.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So, boom. My bad. My barber would say, man, you think, Ocho coming? I said, he said he comes. He told me last night. He come.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I just asked for him. No, I said, yeah, boom. I say, you know what? Let me hit him. I'm going to tell him, I can send him his ticket electronically.
Starting point is 00:09:07 That way, when he gets to go to the game. He could go straight to the game. Just come on in there. I'd be already sitting down. I'd like to get there early. You know, I can go in the back, holl at the players. I'll let Dominique for about 10, 15 minutes.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Yeah, I like to walk around. Man, Ocho hit me back. He said, something about his producer say he got something. I stopped reading the message. I said, oh, this nigga here. No, because Joe, you stopped. You didn't read the message all the way through, Joe? He flaked on me so bad.
Starting point is 00:09:36 It's 5.30. Look, now I'm on my way headed to the arena. My barber, he ain't never even been to an NBA game, so I could have took him with me. Oh, you know what I mean? Wow. He could have sat on the road. He could have sat on the arena.
Starting point is 00:09:49 the flow with me we could have been you know what i said damn i thought about that the whole and i said dang hey that's how hey that's hey so uh-oh whoa jo before you go any further before you tell any more of the story so you got an unused ticket that you had to pay a considerable amount now i call i got a buddy that worked in the hawks and those tickets when they run so listen so typically normally when i go to house games you know sometimes they'll hit me onk they'd be like Oh, we got some floor seats. You know, they'll give them to me. I typically don't have to pay for them.
Starting point is 00:10:23 But for tonight, the Magic City night, it's a hot commodity. Everybody trying to come down. Everybody wants to go. So it was hard to get the tickets. So I had to jump through a few hoops. You hear me? Yeah, you did. How many hoops you had to jump through, Joe?
Starting point is 00:10:36 You know, more than one. Let me know how many hoops you had to jump through. I could make it right. And now, we ain't, well, that's beside the point, Ocho. You got to be, all you had to do it, hey, look, look, look, the next day when you got to do it, You got up, you could hit me in like, hey, Jay, I ain't going to. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Joe, before you tell any more of the story, you mean to tell me the next day, the man ain't hit you still?
Starting point is 00:10:57 Now, I had to hit him at 5.30, man. I hit him 530. He didn't get him in game and same day. No, I'm so let me ask you question. Did he, so he sent you a text. He didn't actually talk to you, right? Now, I text him. I'm like, hold on, you had to call him?
Starting point is 00:11:15 Yeah, it's 530. Game and self. I ain't heard from him all day. Hey. Hold on. Let me make sure I'm getting this right because maybe something got lost in translation. You remember that movie Lost in Translation?
Starting point is 00:11:26 So maybe I'm revisiting that. It's nostalgic. I'm having a nostalgic breakdown. Yeah. You mean to tell me a man that put in a request for floor seats in a month in advance. You and Joe Johnson and the Hawks love you like the Broncos. Like the Bengals love Ocho.
Starting point is 00:11:43 You normally sometimes they call to, Hey, Joe, would you like to come to the game? We got some seats available. Boom. But in this situation, it's a hot ticket. Everybody wants to come to Magic City because no matter what the NBA and other think, Magic City is an iconic. It's historic when it comes to Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:12:01 So you had to do a little bit extra in order to get these, even though you are ISO and you are a Atlanta Hulk legend. So you mean to tell me the game's at 7, 530 you haven't heard, you call him. Yeah. He did, hold on, did you, so he, so he picked up the phone. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Hey, Ocho, what's going on? We're going to the game. I got the tickets. So this, so I'm Ocho, you Joe. Hey, what's up, Ocho? What's going on? Hey, hey, you want me to be me? Yeah, I want you to be you.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Hey, hey, I got these tickets, bro. The game started at seven. It's 5.30. I can see it. Man, my producer, man, my producer told me, that I got something, that I got to go out of time for tomorrow, Joe. So Joe, I ain't going to be able to make it. Joe, I'm sorry, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Yeah, yeah, too, that's how he went. I like that. Hey, I like that story, hey, hey, hey, hey, whoa, whoa, hold on, Joe, Joe, Joe, hold up before you go. Did he mention anything about a birthday party? No, now, he didn't say no about no birthday. Oh, Lord, have mercy. Chad, did you get that?
Starting point is 00:13:11 This? I'm gonna let Joe. I'm gonna let him. I'm gonna let him. Chad. Did you hear that? I'm here. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Hold on. Wait a minute. Joe, I want you to go no further. Because I got to set this up for the chat because they were all on me because he said it was his daughter's birthday. Right. Now, his daughter plays tennis. Yeah. His daughter's been playing tennis for a number of years.
Starting point is 00:13:31 She's in a tournament. Now, last I checked, Joe, they just don't spring tournaments up. Hey, we got a tennis tournament happening this weekend. Anybody wants to play tennis? They're welcome to come. Right. Also, his daughter's 11, 12 years old. She's been having the same birthday for 11, 12 years.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Yeah. So a tennis tournament, which you knew you were going to have a birthday, the tennis tournament weekend, normally the people have it the week before. Normally people, sometimes there's anomalies. People normally have birthday parties on the weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, because you can get more people to come. People don't normally have birthday parties on a weekday. Normally, I say normally. Hey, you know, it's spring break. but go ahead.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Keep the quote. I can't hear you. I can't hear you. We can't see you. We can hear you. So, but Chad, he told us that he told you it was his daughter's birthday and he was going to be unable to attend because the party got moved up because there was a tennis tournament that this weekend.
Starting point is 00:14:34 All right. I'm looking at the test message. I'm looking at the text message right now. Joe, hey, Joe. Hey, go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, we got to fix the camera. We got to fix the camera because the people want to see you. People want to see you. People want to see you.
Starting point is 00:14:46 So, hold on, Joe. So you call him at 5.30. Yeah. The game. So unless he's at the airport driving, because it's going to take him, it's going to take him at least an hour just to get to the arena from the airport and get through that traffic and get there you go.
Starting point is 00:15:03 So by the time he sit down, they'd probably throwing the ball up. Hello. Hello. Probably throwing the ball up. Hello, look. But go ahead, Joe. I'm sitting. I'm sitting in the chair.
Starting point is 00:15:13 He's about to get it. He's about to get ready to take the cape up off me as I'm sitting there and got me a fresh look cut. You hear me? Oh, I don't think. I said, man, let me make sure this joker, you know. Come on, y'all, y'all done? I said, damn. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:15:26 No, no, that what we're not done. We would like for you to turn the camera back on. That's what we'd like to do. Oh, shit. I didn't even know my camera went off. Yeah, you know your camera went off. You absolutely knew your camera went off because we missed it. I'm sitting here, talk.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I'm sitting here. I'm sitting here listening to y'all. Hey, hey, hey, look, at the end of the day, bro, Just have accountability, man. You know what I mean? That's it, bro. Hey, y'all. Hey, let me, let me know what y'all done.
Starting point is 00:15:53 You heard me? Hey, I ain't got nothing to do with it. Hey. Let me know what y'all done. Hey, I ain't got to do with it. My name, my name's Shay. And I ain't got, I ain't came to play. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:16:03 So if the floor is your own, don't, hold on. Let me, let me get to this real quick. Hold on. Let me get you all together real quick. Don't, don't be calling you, baby, mom. No, no, no, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't gonna do that. I'm gonna do that.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Yeah, don't call the co-parent. We don't, there are certain terms, Joe, that we try to stay away from because they're not politically correct. And we don't want people talking about Uncle Ocho and Joe, they use in turmoil night camp, talking about baby mamas. It's co-parent.
Starting point is 00:16:35 So you don't have to call your co-parent. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Yeah, let me get you all together real quick, but we're gonna have a good one tonight, boy. Yeah, we're gonna have a good night. It's starting off great. Yeah, you know, I like it. I'm gonna let you all.
Starting point is 00:16:53 I had you a little fun. Come check this. IHeart and TikTok have come together to create something new. I love it. Where the world of TikTok meets your playlist. Three words that will change your life. IHeart TikTok Radio. The biggest hits across IHeart Radio.
Starting point is 00:17:09 What's trending for you on TikTok? Tell me a sound that's better than this. IHart TikTok Radio. Plus TikTok's most influential creators all in one place. Search for IHard TikTok Radio. Make it a preset and stay connected. all day. What's up?
Starting point is 00:17:26 I'm Miles Turner. And I'm Brianna Stewart. And our podcast, Game Recognized Game, has never been done before. Two active players giving you a real look at our lives and what we actually think,
Starting point is 00:17:36 on and off the court. Nothing's off limits. We talk trade requests. What's the vibe of that when it's like your star player is like, well, I want to leave and then actually now I'm going to stay. We talk tanking.
Starting point is 00:17:49 I mean, honestly, like, I might get in trouble for this answer, but I think it's like definitely happening in the WBA. And yeah, we talk about our mistakes too. They pulled me to the side and was like, hey, man, we got a call last night, man. You can't be rolling around the city like this tonight before games, no, you know, doing this, doing whatever.
Starting point is 00:18:07 And of course, family stories. They'll be like, Mommy, why did you miss that? Mommy, do you play basketball? Check out Game Recognized game with Stuy and Miles on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Wilmer Valderrama. And this is Freddie Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Welcome back to Dos Amigos. Dos Amigos season two, baby. This time, we're going even deeper into our careers, our lives, our art, and everything in between. Each episode emanates from our very own speakeasy where we swap stories about the moments that really shaped us
Starting point is 00:18:44 on and off camera. What do we invest in right now? What is the immediate advice you give people right now? It's to value time. to be cognizant of time and how important time is because once the time is up it's up and then that's it in the relationships collaborations and even the failures that push us to grow and the common denominator is that we have the same people with us since like 30 40 years ago right like we have a lot of the same homies that stuck around plus the door always stays open for a third amigo to pull up a chair listen to dos amigos as part of the my culture podcast network available on the iHeart radio app apple or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:19:25 I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old.
Starting point is 00:19:42 I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Us, soccer. Football. Is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Daniel Jeremiah. And I'm Greg Rosenthal. And this is 40s and free agents.
Starting point is 00:20:32 The games may be over, but the NFL never stopped. This is my favorite part of the calendar. Yeah, mine too, Greg. Free agency, the Combine, the NFL draft Pro Days, trades. This is where teams reshape their future. This is where Daniel Jeremiah makes his money. On 40s and free agents, we break down every move that actually matters. From my draft evaluations, mock drafts,
Starting point is 00:20:53 and team fits to my top 101 free agents and how real rosters are built, cap space, contracts, and all the tough decisions included. You got quarterbacks on the move. We got teams rebuilding. It's hope season. Yeah, absolutely. It's hope season. We'll tell you what's real, what's noise, and what it means for your favorite team.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Smart analysis, real conversations every week. I don't know about the smart, but definitely analysis. Listen to 40s and free agents on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever. you get your podcast. Hold on. I'll tell you before you go, we got a very special guest joining us. He led to Prayer View.
Starting point is 00:21:37 A&M. Panthers, you know a little something about Prayer View. They beat... Huh? He's on the plane right now. They beat Lehi to advance to take on number one seed Florida. Panthers earned their first NCAA
Starting point is 00:21:49 tournament victory in program here. Dante Horn joined the program tonight. Dante, how you doing, bro? I'm doing good. How you doing? I'm doing amazing man thanks for joining us I'm on you got Ocho and you got
Starting point is 00:22:01 ISO joining us tonight I'm not so sure I'm not so sure outside of you guys in that building the coach and people at prayer view believe this to be possible how were you able to pull this off to me just believing in God and trust in our system
Starting point is 00:22:17 on defense like I said I have wonderful teammates that don't mind getting dirty on the defensive side and they just translate to our offense that's what's up Hey, what's up, bro? What's up? This is Joe.
Starting point is 00:22:30 I know who you are. What's up, hey, look, y'all about to get ready to play Florida now, right? Well, I need y'all to go and get them off out of there. That's the goal. Look, we ain't going to go on there. I need y'all to get them up out of them. Hey, I need y'all to get them boys.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Hey, it's going to be tough. Hey, what do you think? What do you think is going to be the biggest thing you guys going to have to work on to continue to advance, you know, in this tournament against Florida? Is that the biggest thing? Yeah, well, what, what do you think the most important? important thing y'all going to have to work on as a team to continue to advance? I feel like Florida being a big team, we got to do way better defense than we have been
Starting point is 00:23:07 playing. We've been having some mislapses. We probably got to play like a perfect game, but I think everybody on my team is ready to go. We're not scared. So we're not going to Florida just to say, hey, we play Florida. We're going to Florida just like the dragon. Right. Yeah. Right. That's what so, bro. Ad, you had a great game tonight, man. You were 11 for 22. You know, you had 25 points, but understanding, knowing that you're playing a team like Florida, you're going to have to come in to lead that pack. You're going to have an out-of-body experience, man, and pretending you like you're goddamn Superman,
Starting point is 00:23:37 along with your other team, being able to get them involved as well. How confident are you that you guys can pull this off and shock the goddamn world? You know, we're real confident. Our non-conference kind of prepared us for this moment. We played a lot of big teams doing our non-conference. I mean, in the end of the sport didn't look. but doing them games was right there with him. So we know we were going up against.
Starting point is 00:24:00 That's what's up, bro. Dante, you know the biggest thing is weathering the storm early. You know they're going to try to swim. You mentioned the size disparities that they have in their favor. So you know they're going to try to pressure. You try to speed your front and turn you over and try to get out to the big lead. And then, you know, hey, say, well, we're going to save our legs. If you can weather the storm early, make them get late into the ball game
Starting point is 00:24:23 and you're still hanging around. Now the pressure shifts to on them. They're supposed to get you guys out of there. They're probably a 40, 50 point favorite, but you have other plans. Yes, sir. That's true. That's definitely true.
Starting point is 00:24:39 So what kind of expect, welcome do you expect to get back when you go back to prayer? Because I'm not so sure, you know, you guys believe because sometimes everybody says, yeah, we're going to win, we're going to win, but they don't really believe. But you guys had to believe or this moment isn't even possible. Man, we had to, you know, I feel like when we get, hey, so many, this is going to be crazy. We think we'll be here.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yeah, I think it's camera. I think he. Oh. You got us? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we got your. Yeah, I was saying, I feel like it's going to be crazy because a lot of people didn't think we'll make it here, but we did. So, PV going to be jumping when we get back.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Hey, hey, the part. You're going to be short-lived because of what you guys play Friday night? Yes, sir. So by the time you get back, basically it's time for you guys to pack and change and get ready to hit the road again. Huh? That's what I'm saying, but the prayer abuse is in Texas.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Oh, hold on. You're going straight to tap them from where you. Right now. Oh, so y'all not going back to preview. We're going right now. Oh, okay. Well, you're straight. Hey, you're good.
Starting point is 00:25:55 You're good then. We're wasting no time. Yeah, that's the best thing. Keep them boys locked in. Hey, listen. Hey, Dante. you know, you know now, Florida got them big boys in the paint, man. You need to tell you, you need to tell your big man,
Starting point is 00:26:09 they need to be carrying their lunch bill because, boy, they got some work to do. I know it. We know it. We know we got, hey, it's about who wanted more. It's about who wanted more at the end of the day. Hey, Dante, you know if you get a chance. They got that dude that's like six, that's seven and nine. You got the punch on it.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Hey, back at their chance, hey, look, I'm going to kind of. You're working. I need all them pictures. Don't post them so fast. That's unbelievable bag. Congratulations on a big win tonight. Airbride at PV is excited. They're celebrating for you.
Starting point is 00:26:46 We at Nightcap and our listeners and subscribers, we're excited for you. We couldn't be more proud of the job that you guys did tonight. Dante Horn led Prayer View to their very first NCAA tournament victory. They earn a right to go take on the Gators at Florida. Dante led to weigh 25 points on 11 or 22 shooting. He played the entire game. So did three of his other starting teammates played the entire ballgame.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Dante, congratulations. Tell the team, congratulations. And nightcap, we promise. Hey, I just want to say thank you. I just want to say thank you. And me and my pops are super Bronco fans. So it's an honor to be on this. Thank you, man.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Appreciate it, Dante. Take care, right, bro. Hey, what's our fellas? That's what's up. That's what's up, man. Congratulations to the prayer of you. Oh, man. Hey, that's what's up, bro.
Starting point is 00:27:44 P.B. They beat Leigh. Well, I don't know. Y'all got to change your name to Lee Lou. You know, because y'all wasn't high tonight. Hey, Joe, but okay, so Joe, you get your hair cut. Yeah. Take the K-pop.
Starting point is 00:28:02 You headed to the game. You're like, yeah, oh, the game, be an Ocho gonna be in the same. I'm looking flying, looking dabbing there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Y'all finish? Yeah, yeah. Man, let you tell the story of Ocho, man, damn.
Starting point is 00:28:17 You didn't tell you three times already. You keep going back, you keep going in surface. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We listened to you tell your story the other night. You told your story four times. I told it one time. Uh-uh, you kept telling it. Hey, hey, everybody else told you to you.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Hey, but Ocho, did you take accountability, though, I did. Like, okay, that's it. Hey, look, look, look. Hey, look, look. Because if you didn't take a, hey, because if you didn't take a caliber, I don't say, I can't hang with you, bro. For real. I can't, I can't be rolling.
Starting point is 00:28:42 That's fine. That's fine. I hang by myself anyway. I'm good. That's fine. Hey, Joe. Joe, your boy coming down there, we good. We're going.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Alright, bet. Let me know, man. Let me know. You already, you are already. You are already. Hey, Joe, I've been trying to talk to Joe already. I told, Joe, you get on me, you get on me, you know. Yeah, listen.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Listen, listen, listen, listen to me real quick. Listen, my baby, when you hit me, why with my baby all day? Now listen, I told, um, trick me out, right? I told, um, I say, man, listen, what would BM say? Boy, listen, I need you to readjust what you got going on. The baby has a tournament coming up. Not only does the baby have a tournament coming up the weekend,
Starting point is 00:29:23 it's the Miami Open, so I'm going to be taking my baby to the Miami Open. So you need to adjust what you got to do, because I need you this day. So what's the Miami Open? Hold on. Was she playing in the tournament? No, no, she played in the tournament in the tournament in the morning,
Starting point is 00:29:37 and then they go from the tournament they play in to the Miami Open to meet the players. They cheated the same yet. Oh. So let me ask you a question. When did you realize that she had a tennis tournament? Are you not listening to the tournament on the weekend? But she moved what she wanted to do with the baby with me on Monday. She moved.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Right. And I didn't know. She didn't tell me ahead of time. And the fact that it made it inconvenience, well, actually, because it's the baby, it's not an inconvenience. So whatever we have to do, I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't do it.
Starting point is 00:30:09 That ain't going to see an argument. So you didn't realize that you had made place. So you didn't call, you couldn't call Joe that morning. So when did you find out that she needed you to make the rearrange your kids? Early in the morning, by 8 o'clock, 8 o'clock call, right? At a clock, listen, we come, we're coming down. I need you. Boom, we went to the nail place.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Boom, we were going to ride. I had to go ride horses. By that time, we'd, We locked in having a good time. We're Dave Busters. Like, God damn, I ain't going to, it's kind of messed up. And then when Joe hit me, right? Boom.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Doug and Ryan hit me too. Hey, listen, we need you to get on the flight. Tuesday morning next 6 o'clock, right? Hey, Joe, you know I got my soccer podcast, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We got an opportunity to meet with the MLS commissioner so you can sit down and talk to him about X, Y, and Z, how he got the job, blah, whatever.
Starting point is 00:30:58 So that's why I'm in New York now. Boom. That, I had to do that Tuesday morning. My flight was the 8 o'clock of the morning. I ain't leave here to two because all the flight. I don't know what's going on with flights and airports right now, but I had like a seven-hour delay. Boom.
Starting point is 00:31:14 So it was a rough two days for me. Now, y'all are jumping on me, getting on me. Joe, man, I'm snapping on me. And then I got, hold on. No, no. Hey, no, don't talk about it. Hey, Joe, but I'm looking at the Miami Open Schedule. they've played the Miami.
Starting point is 00:31:31 They've been playing the Miami Open for it. It's been on the schedule for at least two years. If this is what their website is saying. Now, if that's a lie, the website is. What does it have to do anything? We do the same routine every Miami Open. Exactly. So you knew the Miami Open that you were going to have to,
Starting point is 00:31:49 you knew your daughter was going to be going to the Miami Open before you made the trip. The plans were going to have to do what I'm talking about. And her movie. Because you made it seem like the Miami Open just, Just, right, I'm like you're doing at this tournament. We normally have the party on the weekends, right? Are you listening to me or not?
Starting point is 00:32:06 But there's a tournament this time this weekend. I'm trying to. But the tournament, the Miami Open is always around your daughter's birthday on the weekend. On the fucking weekends. This time, because she had their tournament to play, are you listening? She has a tournament to play this time on the weekend. He moved it up on Tuesday because the kids are in spring break. So it was different this year.
Starting point is 00:32:33 So when did you realize that your daughter's birthday wasn't going to be on the weekend? It was going to be on a weekday. She told me we were moving everything on Monday morning when I woke up. What was the problem? Is there a problem with that? Now, do you and Joe? It's not because me and Jordan talked about it. You keep instigating it.
Starting point is 00:32:48 We just tried to get clarification. Oh, Joe. I don't talk to Joe already. Now what's going to happen is. Where you talk to Joe? What do you mean? I talked to Joe today. two and yesterday twice you know I say Joe listen listen if you need anything let me

Starting point is 00:34:01 It ain't even take that long for what I got to do with you. It ain't going to be no three minutes, Joe. It's going to be about one minute, boy. You hear me? It's going to be, I'm going to jump on your ass like a chicken on the June bug, Joe. You're going to, the problem. The problem is you're going to have to take water to these just that you get up here and want to put you to sleep.
Starting point is 00:34:20 That ain't going to be enough. That ain't going to be a joke. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, you're talking about Carissa, Jake Paul, Logan Powell, damn them, you got ISO. Okay, three minute. Hey, it's gonna be longer than three, boy. You hear me? Well, hey, I'm gonna take, hey.

Starting point is 00:35:20 All I want this man to do is accept accountability. Is it? You realize that early that morning that your girl, that you are. Co-parent had called you and said that there's been a change of schedule. You should have cut the next call you should have made. Hey, Joe, check this out. My baby, my co-parent called me.
Starting point is 00:35:36 My baby's birthday, normally we celebrated on the weekend. He didn't have to do all that. He ain't had to say all that. All he had to do is say he can't make it. Hey, Joe. Just leave it alone. You are all ready for to catch your ass with my hand. And I ain't, I wasn't, that ain't, I wasn't, what I was trying to do.

Starting point is 00:37:40 You ain't going to be seeing these hands. Three minutes. I'm just keeping you around so the people can have a little fun. Why? Hey, hey, you remember with Flood and fight that YouTube with the arena that's, hey. Yeah, yeah. You're a pop-pop.
Starting point is 00:37:51 . Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, did y'all see the thing? Did you see the fight today the guy? I guess he's with his girl and the brother has slapped him in front of his girl. He sent his girl home.
Starting point is 00:38:06 He came back. He said, catch this. He lumped over up. Called his girl FaceTime. He said, look at him, baby. He's leaking. Hey, when I seen that, I sent it to you, Ocho. I said it to you.
Starting point is 00:38:18 I straight up thought about Ocho. Soon as I seen him, I said, man. Who came back standing on me? Oh, okay. Hey, Ocho, dude was a little bigger than he came back. He said, no, I want to fail on me. They got to tell him, oh, they got the tusses. He said, ooh, I like you even more now.
Starting point is 00:38:33 What, what, what, what, what? I'm talking about little. Hey, he said, I ain't got no blood. I ain't got no knife. He said, bro, I ain't on no Jackie Chan. I ain't on, I ain't got none of that. He said, I'm going to throw these hands on. Hey, Joe, that's what's going to happen to you right there, Joe.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Well, I shall thought about you when I see and I said, ooh, I'm going to hear, I'm going to hit Ocho just like this here. here. I mean, you got a joke, Ocho, do you know how, how far you got to go to get Joe out of character? Do you know how long it took us
Starting point is 00:39:05 to get Joe to open up? Hey, oh, oh, no. When Joe around me, he's going to open up anyway. It's me. You know, it don't matter how shy you are, I don't know how much you don't talk. I'm going to get it out of you. Just like I make his ass.
Starting point is 00:39:19 You got the man want to put hands on you. Oh, Cho. That man want to put a hand on you. Joe playing, what? It's a no, Joe. Hey, hey, hey, Joe. Hey, how are you going to get up in? How are you going to get up in here?

Starting point is 00:39:47 And that what I'm saying. You're going to eat one or two or to eat one. I'm going to put your sleep. How you're going to eat one? I'm going to eat, how I'm eating them if I'm blocking everything, Joe? You ain't me blocking nothing, yeah. All right. Matter of fact, Joe, hey, I'm going to be out there in the palace at your front of those, man.

Starting point is 00:40:18 This is. Can we hold each other accountable? Not only that. Hey, let me. Hold on, not only that. But can't nothing else out there touch this? Not even close. You're not, you're not.
Starting point is 00:40:28 You know, you're not, you're not understanding. You hear me? We ain't got to talk about nobody. We ain't got to create no controversy. We're going to be on, hey, Joe, we're going to be okay. We're going to, hey, oh, Joe. Then you bought on going to the game, man. We should be a row.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What game are you going to? No, we ain't telling you. We ain't telling you. We ain't telling you. I'm going to probably be at the cigar ball anyway. It's cool. Yeah, you see.

Hey, Joe, I'm like, you trying to get me indoors. I ain't really been in before, huh? Yeah, that's all I'm saying, man. Hey, it's $2,000.26.
Starting point is 00:41:22 All that flies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We ain't doing accountability in 2026. Hey, hey, you know I'm about that. Hey, Joe, make sure you account for these fucking hands then, Joe. Make sure you account for these hands you're about to get. I'm three minutes, bro. And that's just to keep you around so, so chat can, you know, they can have a little

This time, we're going even deeper into our careers, our lives, our art, and everything in between. Each episode emanates from our very own speakeasy, where we swap stories about the moments that really shaped us on and off camera. What do we invest in right now?
Starting point is 00:44:40 What is the immediate advice you give people right now? It's to value time to be cognizant of time and how important time is. because once the time is up, it's up, and then that's it. And the relationships, collaborations, and even the failures that push us to grow. And the common denominator is that we have the same people with us since like 30, 40 years ago, right? Like, we have a lot of the same homies that stuck around.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Plus, the door always stays open for a third Amigo to pull up a chair. Listen to Dos Amigos as part of the My Cultura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist,
Starting point is 00:45:30 and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a...
Starting point is 00:45:46 The story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, it's hope, it's heartbreak, and above all, its beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Auerrecon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get. at your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:46:20 I'm Daniel Jeremiah. And I'm Greg Rosenthal. And this is 40s and free agents. The games may be over, but the NFL never stopped. This is my favorite part of the calendar. Starting point is 00:46:40 On 40s and free agents, we break down every move that actually matters. From my draft evaluations, mock drafts, and team fits, to my top. Top 101 free agents and how real rosters are built. Cap space, contracts, and all the tough decisions included. You got quarterbacks on the move. We got teams rebuilding. It's hope season. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:47:01 It's hope season. We'll tell you what's real, what's noise, and what it means for your favorite team. Smart analysis, real conversations every week. I don't know about the smart, but definitely analysis. Listen to 40s and free agents on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm flying up. They don't see it. They're going to see it.
Starting point is 00:47:23 The Miami of Ohio Red Hawks beat the SMU Mustang by the score of 89 to 79. Remember, they started their tournament. They're the only team that hadn't lost the regular season game. And then they get into the tournament and they lose right away. And they were on the cusp. I mean, many didn't think they were going to get in, but they get in in the playing tournament. And they beat SMU by the score of 89 to 79 to 79.
Starting point is 00:47:49 They put four players in double figures, and they basically led from start to finish, and they win this ballgame, 89, 79. Ocho, are you surprised that even at what? They were 30, I think there were 30 and O going into the tournament. And they were all basically had to get into the play in order to get to the Final 64. Are you surprised with a record that they had in the regular season? They still needed to be in the playing just.
Starting point is 00:48:15 I mean, obviously I'm not sure how that really works, especially with a team that played as well as them and had to be in the goddamn playing. But obviously, they made their statement and they made their presence felt the night. That goddamn Alma, boy, he was phenomenal. Obviously, he played 24 minutes. He had 23 points.
Starting point is 00:48:30 Man, man, from three point, he was, wait, we were 8, 11? Six and nine? No, he was six and nine from three. Man, hell, goddamn. How do you say that? Skyjack? Is it a Skyjack?
Starting point is 00:48:41 Skyjack? He had 17. Byers had 19. Man, them boys was bawling. And the fact that they had the plan to play in, And I really don't understand why they had to play from the plan based on what I saw tonight and watching them play. They played really good basketball from start to goddamn finish. Obviously, SMU closed the gap a little bit.
Starting point is 00:48:59 I think it might have been the third quarter. But, listen, after that, I mean, talking about third quarter. In the second half, man, young bull started hitting them threes back-to-back, Joe. Man, it wasn't done doing, boy. Man, listen. Oh, Joe, the Miami of Ohio playing in that. at mid-American conference. Yeah, yes.
Starting point is 00:49:20 And SMU playing in the ACCC. They've been tried and tested, playing against some of the top teams in the nation. And I don't think Miami of Ohio has been tested. Now, I think the best thing for them was them losing coming into this game. Okay, Ocho, because I'm sure they probably wanted the undefeated season,
Starting point is 00:49:39 but they came into this game, already coming off a loss. You know, I knew they were trying to bounce back some way somehow to prove that they're still one of the top teams in the NCAA tournament. So kudos to Miami of Ohio, bro. They came out and played well. And, hey, hey, the white boys, they got ain't no punks over there.
Starting point is 00:49:58 Yeah. Hey, hey, they buckled down. They made shots. They played hard. They competed, bro. They competed. It was a fun game to watch. Hey, hey, Joe, you know, Joe, son, played with SMU.
Starting point is 00:50:09 Yeah, I seen him out there. Jay-O. J-O. I seen him out there. Jay-O-Neal. Oh, yeah. He didn't get but a few minutes, but you look at Boobie Miller, the guy from SMU, that's their best player.
Starting point is 00:50:23 He had such an off night. He had an injury to that team, bro. You know, if he's playing well going, got it going, then they front run and they're playing well. But he struggled. He struggled tonight. But that's the thing, Joe, you know, like in the NCAA tournament, it's hard to overcome if your best player. Because most teams are so dependent on their best player. It's not like, you know, like in the NBA, all those guys are really, really good.
Starting point is 00:50:50 But normally, you've got one or two guys that's head and shoulders above everybody else on the team. And if one of those guys have an off night, very, very real, it could happen, but it happens rarely in college that your best player is off and you're able to over combat. Yeah, yeah. And that's why, you know, that's what happens. And if you are a junior senior-laden team, that's why Yukon has been able to win those back-to-back titles because if you look at those guys,
Starting point is 00:51:20 those are older guys. Yeah. It's hard to put you asking 17, 18-year-olds who's been the number one guy on their team for as long as they can remember. Now he's playing with three, four, five other five-star guys. We got to share the ball. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:36 It's hard to blend that. That's why you see it so infrequently that as talented as Duke has been, they don't win when they got seven, eight, five-star guys. Right, right. Kentucky, when they had buggy cousins and John Wall and all those guys, they didn't win year after year, after year after year, because it's hard to get 17-year-olds
Starting point is 00:51:58 to play together when they've been, man, now give me 20 shots a night, and now all of a sudden you've got to take that down. Yeah, maybe 18 shots tonight. And Joe, the funny is all about it, to is when you go for playing where you demand and then you go to obviously the next level, obviously college where everyone is somewhat just as good, your shot selection actually decreased,
Starting point is 00:52:22 but you actually have to pick the right shots and then you have to be goddamn efficient. So you can't have off nights. Like, you know, Brother Miller had the night as great as he is. Everything runs through him. Or if you have to have, when you come to tournaments like this, this is when you really don't want to have off nights. You want to be as efficient as possible. If you're not efficient,
Starting point is 00:52:39 the other foe, I need you to make up for what I can't do tonight. Yeah, yeah. Experience matters in college basketball now. This is why when it does. You're recruiting Uncle Ocho, they no longer really recruiting guys straight out of high school unless you're a phenom. You're a five-star. You're a coup of flag.
Starting point is 00:52:59 You want to know a Cameron Boozer. Absolutely. Because college basketball is a business now. It's a professional sport. And they want guys who. proven or who has the talent to be able to compete. That's why in the portal, that's why in college basketball now in the portal, you have to re-recruit your own guys just to see if they're going to come back.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Like, it's crazy now, bro, but everybody wants experience. You have to be, that's why you can go to junior college for two years and still have four years of eligibility at a pile five. But they're doing that in football, Ocho. You know now, unless you, that dog, they're going to get somebody out of the portal. Yeah. They're going to get somebody else quarterback. They're going to get somebody else running back on wide receivers.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Yeah. So that, and Joe is absolutely right. I've got you on contract. And they're like, well, I got to, hey, I got to entice you to stay. So I got to give you an extra hundred, a quarter of a million. I got to buy you a Lambo or Ferrari just to get you to stay. And you are already on my campus. Because, you see what they did.
Starting point is 00:54:02 If it's what's reporting is true, you see what they did from Malacantone? Yeah. He gets sweet ticket to all. all the Dolphins home game. He gets used to a boosters yacht. He gets X, Y, and Z. And he gets an extra $500,000 for every year that he stayed there. Hey, listen, when you come from them big cities like that
Starting point is 00:54:21 and they got the money to pay it, why not, man? Put it in your contract. Put it in your contract. Hey, hey, hey. Oh, Joe, hey, all I know is my grandma wasn't going to be hungry. We weren't going to be no spam no more. We weren't going to be going to buying the sausages. I can't teach you that.
Starting point is 00:54:37 If Sheldish, if they had NIL, back then. Somebody paying premium. Absolutely. Hey, hey, hey, look, Uncle Ocho, my mom would have been living in Fayetteville,
Starting point is 00:54:50 Arkansas with me if I was getting in. If I was playing in this area, in this era, man, listen, hey, see, when I went to college, Uncle Ocho,
Starting point is 00:54:59 I came with a plan. I said, I can't stay no longer than two years. Because in basketball, if you stayed more than two years, they thought something was like, what's wrong with you? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:55:06 Unless you were ashamed of, Batti, who was in my draft, and you had been at Duke for four years, probably than one of your two championships, you know. But outside of that, anything over two years, bro, they thought what's wrong with you? So I knew. Because remember how they were looking at Blake Griffin? They looked at Tyler Hance, bro. They're like, bro.
Starting point is 00:55:22 If you'd add, why are you not one and done? Man, what you're talking about? Yeah. Tala Hens, that's when they look at Tyler. Bro, you at North Carolina. You're ACC player of the year. You're national player of the year. And you're a senior?
Starting point is 00:55:35 They look at you crazy. Because if you're that dude, you got to be, you got to be one and done. You got to be a KD. You got to be those guys. So you think it's a bad thing, Uncle Joe? When it's a player understands maybe I'm not developed enough to be able to go to the next level. Now you lead too early and you get your ass exposed at the next level. Then what?
Starting point is 00:55:57 Well, get me exposed because I want to be as close to that $200 million contract that coming in three years. I'm about to be, think about it, Ocho. If I leave, let's just say for the sake of argument, I leave. 19. By the time I'm 22, 23, they're going to put 200 million in front of me. The only, all I do by staying in college is delayed at now that's 24, not as 25. I'm trying to get to the bag as soon as possible. That's why these kids, but the NIL money, that N I, bro, NIL money, they didn't give you no 40 million. Mendoza's contract is about to be guaranteed, fully guaranteed 45 million.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Hey, I think the only problem with that, though, is, you know, you, you, you, you, you, you, get cats uh uh they may not stay they they may not stay as long or you saying i'm saying they want to you saying they want to get they trying to get to the pros fast try to get to the bag absolutely what if they're not good enough joe that's what i'm going to say uh it's only one it's only they're not going to select if you select me if you select me the number one pick you select me in the lottery you think i'm good enough yeah yeah no no no no just that you select me and i don't turn out to me right You thought I was good enough. I thought you just meant players in general.
Starting point is 00:57:11 No, no, no, no, no, no, no. My thing is, my thing, Uncle's talking about the 1%. It's only, you know, yeah. Talk about all these guys going pro, but guys, there's only 400 dudes in the NBA every year. I was talking about this year and just next year, like every year.
Starting point is 00:57:26 So that means if it's 50 coming in, it's got to be 50 going out. You know what I mean? So we're talking about DeBonza. We're talking about Cameron Boozer. Yeah. We're talking about A-Cuff. We're talking about that Peterson.
Starting point is 00:57:36 We're talking about guys like that. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's what we're talking about. You're talking about April. You're talking about these guys in Ohio State that tested well, and you see all these guys running forward forward jumping out of the building. Yeah. Go back to college for what?
Starting point is 00:57:50 Right, right. Because here is the thing. This is what I tell people all the time. What you go to college to do? Well, I'm going to college to get a degree, and you hope that agree do what? Help you make what? Money.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Somebody is going to move that up. So instead of you being 23, in making money. Hey, how about we do this at 19? How about we do this at 20? Yeah. And everybody, but turn it. I want to know the medical student.
Starting point is 00:58:17 And you can't do that. But I guarantee you if Goldman Sachs or J.P. Morgan, if somebody offered a financial student, $2 million a year, they leave it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I work, guess what? I work night, I work night and go online and I'll get my degree.
Starting point is 00:58:33 But I'm going to get this bag. Yeah. Yeah. You're a lifetime. I ain't promised tomorrow. If somebody's about to give me a check today, I'm taking the check today and not worry about tomorrow or tomorrow. Hello.
Starting point is 00:58:44 That's what I would do. I'm never going to tell somebody to stay in school because you go to school to get a degree so you can go apply it to make money. Hey. Okay, Ojo, they told me, they say, hey, son, you're going to be a lottery pick. You're going to be a top 10 pick.
Starting point is 00:59:02 When they told me that, say less. I'm gone. I'm gone. Hey, he got a lottery ticket that he even played a lottery. He got a lottery ticket. Hey, hip-about, his mom and dad sitting on a lottery ticket. So, whatever you do, don't get hurt. Don't do nothing crazy.
Starting point is 00:59:17 You don't need to get no motorcycle. You don't need to get no dune buggy. You don't need to do no ski, no jet ski. Son, just get to the NBA. Man, I won, I won 10 pick. Yeah, I won 10. They told me I wouldn't go past 10. And Boston had the 10 pick.
Starting point is 00:59:31 That was my best workout. I probably missed two shots. The whole workout. I ain't going to the whole workout, Ocho. You know, like when you're going to the workout, boy, I used to be so locked in. So this a dream come true. I'm going to be living an American dream.
Starting point is 00:59:44 This is something I dreamed about as a kid. Like a lot of times, a lot of times, Ocho, my rookie year, bro, I would just go to the gym at night. I just sit there and be in, oh, after a workout. Like, I can't believe I'm playing in the league, bro. Like, you know, like, that was a big accomplishment, man. Like, shh. Game been good to you, boy.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I'm going to be, hey, I'm going to be good to you. But it's been good to you, Joe. It's been good to you. Yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, you know, my bad, my bad, Joe. You know what? Joe, you know, we're talking about this offline.
Starting point is 01:00:15 We don't need to mention this. Hey, no-mo. Yeah, I mean, I mean, hey, listen, I'm saying, but he's steady talking, bro. I'm, I'm going to get you three minutes, man. You ain't got to say too much more about it, man. I don't really do a lot of drug wrestling. I do a lot of talking, Joe. That's part of my game, Joe.
Starting point is 01:00:30 I'm letting you know, but I'm going to be on your ass, like, right on right. it's not, Joe. All right? Okay. Because I showed my remorse. I took my accountability and you kept talking, Joe. All right, well, let it go. Let it go to him. It's on. A, A, oh? Well, your Lakers won tonight, right?
Starting point is 01:00:46 Yeah, they do. We're free to talk about them. The Lakers beat the Miami, the Houston Rocket for the second time in three days by the score of 124 to 116. Luca Donchett came a rebound short of a triple double. He ended with 40 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists, But the night, goat James in 34 minutes, he had 30 points, Joe, from 13 to 14 shooting. Two or two from the three point line.
Starting point is 01:01:12 He had 35 and two. He was sensational. He's dunking a, I think he leads the NBA in transition points. He's one of the few guys that's averaging 20, shooting 50% from the floor with five rebounds and five assists. If I'm not mistaken, I think he and Nicola Yolkich are the only two players that's averaging 25 and 5 while shooting better than 50%. Going 13 or 14 from the line,
Starting point is 01:01:37 definitely is going to help that 50%. But when Lucas playing like this and don't look now, but I think they've won like seven straight games. Yeah. And they've now beat the Knicks because they ain't beat nobody. Are the Knicks any good? Are the Timberwolves any good? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Or the Nuggets any good. Right. Or the Rockets any good. But you know what? They're going to find a way to try to diminish it because old Gold James played well. So they're going to try to back. But, Joe, what did you like about what you saw from the Lakers tonight?
Starting point is 01:02:04 Man, I thought Luca, you know, obviously doing Luca things, getting off to a great start, making it tough for everybody defensively. I thought what helps with LeBron is that he'd get a couple easy ones. You know, he made his first few shots. It's a rap. Once he gets the feeling good, he gets the backpedaling on you. You know, he get that little back pedal he got going. Oh, it's a rap then because now he got it going.
Starting point is 01:02:26 He made, I think he went like nine for nine or ten for ten. Nine for nine, yes. Oh, yeah, he was in the groove. It's going to be hard to beat him like that. But they game playing defensively, Uncle, against KD. They're trapping. KD don't understand how to get out of that trap without turning the ball over. For whatever reason, KD is having a problem with them trapping.
Starting point is 01:02:45 See, they ain't just trapping their form to give it up. They're being aggressive with they traps. You know, they can steal off their traps, which are leading to easy basket for the Lakers. Because I thought I was tripping the night when I was looking at the game. I said, hold on, just the same game from another night. because I ain't know they played them back to back. Yeah. But, yeah, the Lakers got Houston number right now.
Starting point is 01:03:04 They got a nice little game playing for them. Hey, hey, hey, I was to get rid of the action too long and Joe, right? I mean, I'm watching the game. Obviously, y'all have a better understanding of the game than I do. And I'm seeing that KD had, but damn, two points at the half. How can he have two points at the half? I don't understand, especially a prolific score, maybe one of the greatest scores of all time in being history.
Starting point is 01:03:22 How does he have two points at the half? Obviously, he started to get going after the half. In the third quarter. and he started, you know, his shot started falling, but trapping him and catching him at half court. Soon as he crossed half court, they trap him every time he got the ball in his hands. I mean, as soon as you see the double team coming,
Starting point is 01:03:40 why just get that thing out your hands right away? Well, he's been talking about how, you know, teams have just been doubling him and making other guys beat him. So if you're playing a Houston Rockets, you want KD to get the ball out of his hand because he's such a prolific score. Like, I don't want him making too many decisions, And more importantly, Uncle Ocho, I don't want him comfortable, period, point blank.
Starting point is 01:04:03 So I'm in this jock. I'm in the whole time, Ocho, look, and he catch it. We bringing the double team. Our double team ain't soft. It's going to be a tough double team to where we put these hands on you, you know, borderline filing to some degree, making it tough. And then the back line is like a DB. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:04:21 You may have two guys for a split second. You feel what I'm saying? And they playing it to the tee, bro. They trapped him. They trapped KD. and they trapped Singoon like that all night. Singoon kind of had it going, but they just wanted to get KD out the game,
Starting point is 01:04:34 and I thought he said came to the pressure, Arka-Ocho, meaning he came out looking to be, to facilitate. Yeah, to pass the ball. Versus, man, you KD, bro, just be aggressive, get to your spots. Some dudes can't, you got to go quick when you get it because you know the double coming. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:04:53 And I just thought he just kind of settled for it a little bit tonight. If you notice a lot of the double, they put Aiton at the top. Yeah. Now you got seven foot with his hands up and you bring in a double. Here come Austin Reeves. Here come Marcus Mark.
Starting point is 01:05:07 Here come Luke Canard. They're bringing it because the one thing I don't want him to do, I don't want him to go left because if he dribbles left, he's going to pull up. You already know it. So now if you notice
Starting point is 01:05:16 the double teams comes from the left, they keep him from going left. We pin him, we get him pinned, we get him trapped up at the line. We got him. We got to make him give it up. Now, the last thing that you want to do is try to trap LeBron a Yokic that high out. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Because they're going to be able to swing the ball all the way across court. Yeah. Yeah. If you see they trap Yokic, what do Yokic do? He found a Hardaway Jr. way in the off corner for a knockdown three. That's what KD is a score. Yeah. I want to make him do something that he's not comfortable to do.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Can he? Yes. But that's not where he's most comfortable. He's most comfortable. One dribble, pull up. Yeah, two, three dribbles, pull up. Yeah. One, two, or I'm getting to the, that's what he wants to do.
Starting point is 01:06:01 He does not want to, like, dribble, dribble, and try to scan and like, okay, where are they coming from? That's not what he wants to do. Right. He wants to one dribble pull up, one, two, pull up, one, two, three pull up. Yeah. And if you can keep him from doing that, it's a lot easier said than done because he still can shoot over the top of you. But once I make him pick that dribble up, I got it. Yeah, because the thing, Joe, he's, you know, he's an aggressive score, but he's a,
Starting point is 01:06:26 He's a rhythm guy. Katie, he's a rhythm guy. So if I can disrupt that rhythm, because when he catch it on the ISO, you know he want to hit you with that hang, dribble left and shoot his pull-up. He wants to catch the rhythm. So if I'm the opposite,
Starting point is 01:06:39 if I'm the defensive team, soon as he tried to get into his bag, I'm bringing the double team, that's going to knock him off rhythm. Now he doesn't know if you really want to shoot it or if he got to get out for it. So then if I get you to start second-guessing yourself, you ain't even thinking about going into your bag no more.
Starting point is 01:06:53 You're thinking about this dude who's coming to double. Now, I just need to make sure I get it to Jabari Smith or Shepard or the Thompson kid. You know what I mean? Versus continue to be aggressive to be able to make plays, but he going to have to figure that part out. And this is how you know he wasn't aggressive. He only had 11 shot attempts. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:07:11 Jabari Smith Jr. had 15. Tari Eason had 13. Shingoon 15. I'm in Thompson. 19. Reed Shepard had more shot attempts than KD. As long as I keep him down here in these numbers like this here,
Starting point is 01:07:27 he's not in that 19, 20, 22. I'm good. We got a great job. I'm good. What? I'm good. Hey, Andy only shot three free throws. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:37 So now he's not aggressive looking for his shot. And he's not putting pressure on the defense. Yeah, trying to get to the basket and getting files. We're cool. I'm good with that. Yeah, I'm living with that all day long. Great game playing. I thought the Lakers ran into the T to past couple of games.
Starting point is 01:07:52 I'm talking about, man, And they had him so flustered out there. I could see the frustration on his face. Hey, Joe, you see he kept looking at a coach in a South loud. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They need a point guard. They don't have a point guard. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:08:08 Ammon Thompson is not a point guard. That would be a much better team. I don't know what it looked. Chris Paul, he's done, he retired. That's long gone. And so I don't want to eat that more. But when Van Fleet got hurt, I mean, man, he told his ACL, Ocho, what, eight, nine months ago.
Starting point is 01:08:24 I mean, yeah, he's done for the year. He's done. I mean, I can't see him coming back being this year and being effective. Like, I think they're going to kind of have to roll with what they got. I mean, I don't know if they can sign anybody. No, ain't nobody that can help him. And the problem that they ran into, Ocho and Joe, is that they signed KD and then Van Fleet did that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:44 I don't, I don't know if they signed him if Van Fleet's out. Right. Because you're counting on him, you have somebody that can run an office that can get him to ball in his spots. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't mind. I don't mind Shingoon.
Starting point is 01:08:58 I don't mind Armin Thompson taking those shots. Because I'd rather they take those shots than Kevin Durant taking those shots. There you go. There you go. I can live with them. There you go. I can live with them. So, but they look, the Lakers look good.
Starting point is 01:09:10 They're playing really well. Luca's going to be Luca. Lucas is going to get off to a hot start. He's leading the NBA of almost about 12 points in the first quarter, which would be, I think the most in a shot clock era, if he were to average that in any quarter. He's going to finish. So he gets off to that hot start.
Starting point is 01:09:26 And once he gets it going, it's a rap. I mean, if he ever, if he hits, he knocks down those first threes, you can kiss it goodbye. Now he's going to put,
Starting point is 01:09:38 he's going to push you, you're going to try to hug up on him. Now he's going to get by, you get you on his back. He's going to stop. You're going to jump into him and he's going to get an M one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:47 If you lay back on, you try to lay back, okay, he's going, hey, he going to snatch it. Pull up. Step behind the line and shoot the three. He controlled the game, bro. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:56 He controls the game. He can foul bait you. Then once he go to file bait you, you don't even want to file, so now he know he can shoot that step back with no distance. He knows you ain't really going to contest. Now he got you at his mercy. You know what I mean? You did, but you see, and you try to bring a Kogi in to try to pick him up full court.
Starting point is 01:10:15 They're like, okay, come on. That's what you want to do? Brow! He's going to get you in file trouble. So that's the thing. You've got to be able to throw a lot of different bodies. And the thing is, that's what OKC. That's what San Antonio can do.
Starting point is 01:10:32 They can throw a lot of different people at him. They're not a whole lot of teams that have the bodies that can throw at Luca that can bother him. Right, right. But when you got, you got dork that you can throw at him, you got Wallace and you can throw at him, you got Casey you can throw at him, you got Caruso, that you can throw at him.
Starting point is 01:10:49 You can throw so many different guys at it. And obviously with San Antonio, with those guys, Champany, and you got Castle. Castle needs to be first team all defense. I don't care what you all. I agree. They built the way you down.
Starting point is 01:11:03 Listen, I know you love your Lakers. You know, Lakers and Five, all that, Joe. Yes. And, you know, we talked about, now we talk about regular season. Now, we talk about postseason. Now, do you all still have the faith in the Lakers to be able to win a series?
Starting point is 01:11:17 even in the first round. Yes, it ought to pay them to who they get in the first round. It's going to be very difficult for them to. But look, when you got a guy like Luca, Luca, Luca can get 40. Yeah. LeBron, see, LeBron is playing the perfect role. This role for LeBron is the third option.
Starting point is 01:11:34 It only works if Austin Reed's going to give you what he's normally been giving you. Now, he's kind of been off. But if Austin Reed's going to give you his typical 25 points, well, it's no big deal for LeBron to play that third option. LeBron don't even really be looking for his shot. If you look at it, he gets like eight points on runout dunks. He'll get one where they throw it to him down.
Starting point is 01:11:55 He got the guy pinned on his back. He'll lay it up. He'll hit a three. And then other than that, but he's not really looking for his shot anymore. And think about he got 14, he got 14 shots up tonight. May 13 of him. Hey, man. LeBron is that aware where I don't need to be the aggressor anymore?
Starting point is 01:12:14 I don't have to be the ones. to leave because Lucas is doing what he's doing? Yes. Hey, oh Joe. He's taking a career low shot at him. This is a career low for him. You see how hard.
Starting point is 01:12:26 You see how hard Kevin Durant got to work. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And they wearing him down. Brun don't want to be like that, bro. You know, beat that Swiss Army knife. Yeah, I'm going to come out and get you 20 to 30 points a night. Tonight he was feeling good, getting the rhythm. He's going to be hard to stop his understanding of the game,
Starting point is 01:12:45 knowing how not to get in the way of Luca and AR and just play his game, he's going to be perfect for him, bro. I think, Uncle Ocho, I don't want to see them match up against the Timberwolves because the Timberwolves swept them. Maybe they want some get back, but it's just matchups, man, in their friends. Oh, we've been putting that fag. We got, we got the number now. Because, look, the thing is, Joe.
Starting point is 01:13:12 What's up? Rudy Goberra ain't going to go ain't going to have a 27-20 game He might have one All he needs is to have one No The problem The problem is Ant-Man having two 40-point games
Starting point is 01:13:25 That's the problem And McDaniel Aunt Man gonna have a couple 40-point games I can promise you that The thing is Is that I think now the bitch
Starting point is 01:13:35 You know And I keep beating on this And Chad I don't want to beat a dead horse But Luke Kinnard When he comes in the game. He used to be a spot up. Luke Kinnard is looking to put the ball on the floor.
Starting point is 01:13:48 He's looking to threaten the defense, and I love that. Yes, he can shoot the three. But, hey, run him off the line and see when he put it on the floor and get to the rim. He helping them win games. Absolutely. In this win streak that they got, he is definitely helping them win games. He has been a great piece.
Starting point is 01:14:03 He was just out here in Atlanta playing with the Hawks. Yeah, we appreciate that. He gets to L.A. He out there bawling like a dog. Yes, I appreciate that. And you see a LeBron, hey, getting to the rim, two-plus, passing the A-A. Ain't-A-A-A-A-A.
Starting point is 01:14:19 I ain't on line. Pull up Aitin chat. And pull up Aiton. Able said what I've been saying all alone. Aitin said that ain't me. You got it. Well, Aitin looked good. Yeah, put his whole quote up.
Starting point is 01:14:34 Yeah. DeAndre Aitin says he noticed how locked in, Luca and LeBron are and said he's tired of being the odd man out. Aiton is also relearning how to make an impact without being the focus of an offense. He was like, we're going to pull his quotes up. because he said like, bro, this ain't in. This ain't it. Well, hell, he showed it tonight.
Starting point is 01:14:54 He was eight for 10 with 16 on, was 16? Yeah. Well, he probably, he probably, he probably had different expectations coming into this season, probably thinking they was going to play through them and things like that. But they need them to be high energy, pick and roll, get slabs, catch it in a little dunkle spot, make your little jump hooks, your little floaters right down the paint.
Starting point is 01:15:16 Be a big presence defensively. You know, yeah, you may not block a lot of shots, but we need you to alter a few down here. You know what I mean? And let's start the break and get going. And if he didn't figure that out, Lakers might be on or something. Y'all might be all right.
Starting point is 01:15:35 I think the thing is, Joe, look, out of 30 teams, there ain't a whole lot of bigs getting the offense run through them. Yoke and Bid when he's fully healthy. That's about it. Yeah. Ain't no other big.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Get no offense. run through them. No, sir. Yokic and Embed, when Embedd is healthy. Absolutely. Other than that, get it out the real. Hold on. What about young boy down there in San Antonio? Oh, he only at the four? But he don't, he don't play no pose. He don't play no weird. He's more like a stretch. Yeah, don't he'll, he'll five, but he's a stretch. Yeah. He's shooting threes. He out there, he's, he's shooting middies. Okay. Uh, he's just what DeAndre said. I just started looking in the mirror and said, yo, bro, you're not that guy. You don't need
Starting point is 01:16:26 to be this on this team, do it, uh, that and all. This team, you come in here to be an effort guy and to close out possessions, rebound, run the down floor hard as hell, make bigs work, make superstars work. And I'm having fun with it. I'm not going to lie. I'm telling you, I'm telling you once I sit that long, that's usually it. It's like, you're out of the game for a reason. Go think about it. But lately, he's been DA. Nah, D-A. You good.
Starting point is 01:16:55 And I've completely bought in. Completely like 100%. I hope you see the work. Oh, Joe, what I'm saying. I like it. Yeah, you've been saying it for a minute. But listen, we talk about one game, right? And most of the time when it comes to players, Joe, and all, you know,
Starting point is 01:17:11 if it's either in you or it's not. You know, you say the right things, but it all comes down to your play. If you ain't been that type of player your whole career, all of a sudden you ain't going to magically turn into somebody else. All of a sudden, could you see what other players are doing on the court?
Starting point is 01:17:26 You should already be locked in. But here's the thing, you should be motivated on the spot. He's never been around two. There you go. He's never been around two players like Luca and LeBron. There you go.
Starting point is 01:17:35 Book is good. But he ain't LeBron and Luca. Chris Paul is good. And if you go back in Portland, yeah, but those guys are different animals. And he see how they approach it. It's hard when you watch LeBron, by the time you get there, he's already got a shoot around, he's already got a lift in,
Starting point is 01:17:57 and he's just waiting on practice to start. So he's already done all. You see that. You see Luca in every game. He's trying to literally kill somebody. And he said, all I got to do is run the damn flow. Think about how many lobs he get from Luca. How many lobs he get from LeBron?
Starting point is 01:18:15 How many lobs he get from AR? Hey, hey, hey, hey, he got 16 points. Hey, Uncle Ocho, man, and ain't nothing wrong with that, bro. They play a lot of money for guys to do that. Yes! The rim run, block-should rebound, have high-high energy, you know. Act like you care when you act. Man, they pay a lot of money for that, bro.
Starting point is 01:18:37 Joe, you play the game, right? Like, at what point does it get like that to a point where it takes you being and playing with certain individuals for you to play a certain way, when it should already be in you? It should already be in you. Yeah, how are you going to tell you? me, oh, because now I'm playing with the Lakers. Oh, now I need to be a different player.
Starting point is 01:18:53 Oh, now I need to be motivated and inspired because of the way they play. You should have been that animal long ago. That's all I'm saying. Hey, when it comes to you, when you play tight in, you ain't had to play with the greats in order for you to be great. Then you lock in. That's already in you. You can't teach that either you got it or you don't.
Starting point is 01:19:14 So there you go, Ocho. When you, you don't know until you get around some much better players and then you're like, hold on. Okay, dude a little different. Or, you know, he trained a little different. Or he always locked in. You know what I mean? Like, you got some cats, they wait. Okay, game at 7 o'clock. They wait to 5 o'clock to focus and lock in. But then you got some cats, Ocho, they naturally just locked in from the night before. Like, they sleep, they sleep about it. They dream about it. This is, they love the game that much. You know what I mean? Some, some cats just don't move like that. Here's the biggest thing. Ocho,
Starting point is 01:19:49 the number one pick in the draft. The number one picking the draft, get the offense run through them. He's supposed to be the guy. He's supposed to be Yokic. He's supposed to be in V. You dump the ball down to me. You clear out so the double can't come
Starting point is 01:20:02 and let me go to work. So in his mind, as the number one overall pick, that is his expectation. The number one overall pick, I get the ball. I handle the ball. As the number one option,
Starting point is 01:20:14 I get whatever I want to get. If I want to shoot 25 times, I shoot 25 times. Right. But you run, but that's not on this team. He's never going to be number one. So if he could get easy buckets, all he has to do is run the floor.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Like Joe say, run to the front of the rim. Man. Put pressure on the defense. Either they're going to come take Luca and he going to lob it up and you're going to get easy dunk. Or they're going to come get LeBron or AR. They bounce it to you and do you dunk at home? And when they go to the rim, follow them.
Starting point is 01:20:45 Yeah. Because somebody going to try to block the shot and that's an easy putback for you. Yeah, and that's the bonus you get for playing with guys with high IQs like LeBron. Yes. Because not only can they score the ball at a high-efficient rate, they're so great and they have such a great feel for the game that they understand, okay, boom, Aiden ain't had one.
Starting point is 01:21:05 Let's get them an easy one. You know what I mean? Let's talk about me. Yes. Let's get them a touch of two because we know if we give you a lob dunk or some easy buckets, we know how hard you're going to play on the other end. You know what I mean? So we got to keep feeding you every night and then.
Starting point is 01:21:19 So all you got to do, you set them picks, rim run, get them dudes open. Lakers might have a chance to do a little something. Look at, look at, look at when Luca was in Dallas. Look at lively. Look at, look at, look at Daniel Gafford. Yeah. When LeBron played with Tristan Thompson.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Got Tristan Thompson, 80 million. He couldn't shoot a 15 footer. Nothing. I'm serious, bro. You didn't know if he was left-handed the right-handed, but hey, the checks every two, once in the first of the 15th the check was the direct deposit.
Starting point is 01:21:51 Hey, you knew you were going to get all out hustle from him. He was going to outwork his man. He was going to rebound and rim run. That's all he did, bro. That's all. We're not asking you to be Yokic. We don't need you to be Joel and B.
Starting point is 01:22:05 All we need for you to give us consistent effort. That's it. We don't need. Ocho, it would be great if he gave us 15 and 10 on a nightly basis. But we understand, night it might be eight and 12. Yeah. All we want
Starting point is 01:22:21 is consistent effort. And if you look at the last four to five games, that's what he's giving you. That's what they need from him. They got enough scoring. You got Luca, and you got AR, you got LeBron. Rui going to hit you some big shots. Marcus Smart is playing extremely well. I like
Starting point is 01:22:37 the way Markets Smart is playing. He's a defensive round. Drawing charges, taking the ball away. I love the way he plays. Huge pickup. Huge pickup for the Lakers to get him. But I'll kind of piggyback what you said. I think Aiden has realized what just wants to continue. He wants to continue to do it at a high efficient rate,
Starting point is 01:23:00 which is why he's acknowledging, you know, and we got a chance to really be a pretty good team. If I just do my part, Brun do his part, Luca do his part, AR do his part, collectively as a team, we might can come out of hand squeeze us around a two. Uh-huh. Hey. And guess what?
Starting point is 01:23:17 Hey, guess what, Joe? What's up? Man, I'm messing around the average 12 and 12 in the postseason. Somebody might write me a check for 200. Wait. Beep. Beep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:28 Man, what? Wait. Because guess what, Joe? Like 25, 26? Yeah. He probably about, no, he's about 27. I think he's about 27. I think he's going to have to really do something in the postseason
Starting point is 01:23:43 to get 200, but it can happen. Yeah. Yes. He's 27. So you know them postseason runs, Joe, they go a long way. Yeah, yeah. I remember your postseason run, they're feeding it. Got you.
Starting point is 01:23:56 You know what I said? I saw that, Joe. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, no. Hey, Joe would give the bucket. Hey, hey, hey, oh, Joe, I had my money made when I broke my orbital bone. I ain't even had to come back, but I came back anyway. You know what I mean? It gave me and put work on them.
Starting point is 01:24:12 Oh, man, we're supposed to have got us one, bro. Hey, hey, well, we're only getting it. another one year, man. I got the chance to play with Nash one year. Obviously, Amari, Sean Marion, and Quentin Richardson, I only got to play for one year. Man, them dudes like my brothers, man. I promise y'all. All we needed with three years, we at least got one. We've got one. But I think that's the thing, is that need consistent effort. And he's giving them consistent effort. The numbers are going to be what they be. Some days, he might give you 20 and 10. Some days,
Starting point is 01:24:44 it might be 10 and 12. Some days it might be a 16. four and two games. Yeah. But all they need is the consistent effort. If he gives them consistent effort, I can live with anything else. Ocho, what they tell us, Ocho? Just play fast.
Starting point is 01:24:57 If you make a mistake, make it full speed. We'll coach you up. We'll coach, son, I coach you up. But I just want you, if you make a mistake, make it full speed. Just don't have fast. Right, right. Go, son, go, go.
Starting point is 01:25:13 What are you waiting on? Not there thinking. Go full speed. Yeah. Hey, that's one thing about Sharp. He might not know what the hell he's doing, but he's going there in a hurry. Yep. I'm going to push.
