Starting point is 00:05:08 but hey, still had a strong rookie campaign. Let's welcome Buffalo Bills rookie, Keon Coleman. Keon, what it do? How y'all doing? Yo, what's up, boy? Where you at, baby? What's up?
Starting point is 00:05:22 I'm in Texas right now. Oh, man, listen, I'm going to be there tomorrow. Man, we going to slide. We going to slide man, listen, I'm going to be there tomorrow, man. We're going to slide to, um, to what's it McCarlett? Wait, you in Dallas or Houston? I'm in Houston. Boy, hey, boy. Boy, you in Houston?
Starting point is 00:05:35 Boy, what you doing out there? You good? You're not married, are you? Nah, nah. Okay, you good, you good. You good. You going to put some pictures on the wall anytime soon? Nah, this is just a room, man. This is just a room. This is an office space. nah you good you good you gonna put some pictures on the wall anytime soon nah this is this is just a room man
Starting point is 00:05:48 this is just a room this is an office I mean you know they hang pictures on the office in the office not yet I need some more I need some more pictures
Starting point is 00:05:56 like in the end zone you know some crazy put up there okay you come out obviously you know
Starting point is 00:06:03 second round draft pick your rookie season what can you take from this season and how do you build on that going into season number two uh really just stay hungry i think that's really the thing i came with you know come out of the season with stay hungry uh unfortunately injuries and stuff like that so just continue to take care of your body uh and then you know the own the field that. So just continue to take care of your body. And then, you know, the on the field stuff, you know, just continue to be where you're supposed to be at. And, you know, the play is going to happen. You know, the playmakers
Starting point is 00:06:32 are going to make the plays, you know. So all that's going to fall in line. Just continue to work harder. Yeah. Hey, listen, you had a good rookie season, 29 catches, 556 yards, four TDs. It was a good showing. How's your confidence going in year two?
Starting point is 00:06:46 And what do you think the difference is from playing in college and the transition into the NFL? Was it difficult? Most of the time for players,
Starting point is 00:06:55 there's a learning curve. Normally, you don't arrive, as we call it, to year three. What do you think you need to improve on going into year two?
Starting point is 00:07:03 So the game slows down for you. When the game slows down for you, that's when you think you need to improve on going into year two so the game slows down for you? When the game slows down for you, that's when you know you arrived. For one, the confidence. Confidence is always on the gun. Standing at 1,000 at this point, so I'm real confident going into the next season. My connection with Josh and all that, let's continue to turn in the right direction.
Starting point is 00:07:23 So confidence is real high. I've been getting after this off-season training and stuff, and all that, let's continue to turn it in the right direction. So, confidence real high. You know, been getting after this off-season training and stuff, but the biggest difference college to the NFL just got to be more
Starting point is 00:07:32 technical sound, bro. Everybody's, you know, that much better, you know, and we're making it even worse, the D-line, that much faster, so that's all it is.
Starting point is 00:07:40 They get back there faster, the ball gonna come out faster and then understanding that you're not always playing against a guy across from you. You're really playing a guy that's got that head is they get back there fast, so the ball gonna come out faster. And then understanding that you're not always playing against a guy across from you. You're really playing a guy that's got that head start on
Starting point is 00:07:49 calling the defense a play. So you're really playing against the B.C. So understanding their tendencies and what they like to do, what they like to take away from certain guys, that's really, you know, who you really be going against.
Starting point is 00:08:01 So once you master that, then, you know, you'll be all right. Keon, there was a report that came out that some team, I mean, you don't have to name the team if you master that, then, you know, you'll be all right. I like that. Keon, there was a report that came out that some team, I mean, you don't have to name the team if you don't want to, got upset with you from eating fruit snacks in the meeting. Can you elaborate what was said and what made you feel like they got upset with you
Starting point is 00:08:17 for eating fruit snacks? I mean, if they wouldn't have, the fact that they even mentioned it, it was like, you know, because it was like, it was a certain look, man. You know that look when you're in the meetings full of people. And it's just one of those looks in and out that it was like, well, I think they stopped the meeting. It was like, you know, just please, you know, just wait till afterwards to eat the snacks. I'm like, I ain't really tripping.
Starting point is 00:08:40 You could have waited till after to say that. You didn't have to interrupt the meeting for that. Do you feel me? But I'm like, cool. Like, you know how you get all them formal meetings at the kind of point. I had like 15 of them in one day. This was like number 15. It was all great business.
Starting point is 00:08:55 But I was over it, bro. I ain't going to name the team. No, it ain't that serious. You went viral for a lot of your comments that you made during the draft process at the combine were you surprised by how much attention your your your your answers uh the questions that were being asked are you surprised at how viral those moments went i mean with social media nowadays bro everybody kind of just looking for a clip or something that's just different and it's rare guys just be themselves in those type of situations. They're more tense or
Starting point is 00:09:27 get a robot answer. I'm just me, bro. Stuff is just going to be said. I'm going to be myself 100% of the time. They didn't blow up, but I couldn't say I didn't expect it. It kind of just happened. It ain't like I was planning for it. It just kind of was conversation here and
Starting point is 00:09:44 there. And I give you my response and what I think I should say. And you just go from there. I think that's what, that's why so many fans, including myself, I talked about it too, about some of the things that you say, the way you carry yourself. You authentic, you organic, you're not, you're not politically correct. You're not a robot, which most of the time the NFL wants you to be. Obviously you, you understand there's a fine line you don't want to cross,
Starting point is 00:10:05 but you're able to be yourself. And what makes it good for you, why I know you're going to be a superstar, because when you have that organic mentality and you're authentic the way you are and real and a lot of people can relate to you and you can play on the field as well, that takes you to a whole different level. So you've got that it factor that you can't even teach. So you're ahead of the curve anyway. So my next thing I want to ask you is how do you approach,
Starting point is 00:10:29 how did you approach learning the playbook as a rookie? Because I'm thinking about my rookie year when I got to Cincinnati. Boy, I struggled, boy. I struggled and I really couldn't touch the field the way I wanted to. How did that go for you, your rookie year? Oh, I mean, it wasn't like, it wasn't, I wouldn't say it was hard for me. Like the plays, the playbook, the formation, none of that really was hard. It made even more sense from the college playbook.
Starting point is 00:10:54 You know, I played in a pro-style system at Michigan State, then got to Florida State. It was a number system. So just a combination of both and putting myself to the task. If I got to Florida State to learn it that fast, it helped. Because I got two different systems to combine and learn these one system. So it was pretty normal. Yeah, it wasn't that simple for me, Keon. I ain't going to lie to you.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Because the number system, like most people learn the number system, 2, 4, 6, 8 is to your right. 1, 3, 5 is to the left. Well, Tom Landry, it was a defensive coordinator. So when he got to be a head coach and he started calling plays, it was reversed.
Starting point is 00:11:33 So 1-3-5 is to your right. 2-4-6-8 is to your left. So I hear something with an odd, with an even number, I'm all-in to the right. I got this one. Hey, Sean, where you going? Nah.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Sean, where you going? 2-4-6-8 is to the right. I got this one. Sean, where you going? 2-4-6-8 is to the right. Oh, damn. So I stayed. Yeah, it was tough. But I'm glad you were able to pick up because, as Ocho said earlier, the quicker you can pick it up, the quicker you can let your ability take over and you're not thinking.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Oh, yeah. And you're like, damn, am I running the right route? And you're going. Like you said, everything is sped up. And you hesitate. You beat in this league because everybody's good. Yeah. Yeah. Let me ask you this.
Starting point is 00:12:19 How did you get used to playing into the cold? Because, look, you got cold in Michigan, but Buffalo is a different animal. I mean, they'll throw three feet, four feet of snow on you overnight. I mean, once it's below, like, 32, technically the cold is cold. You just got to, you know, you got the whole thing. Yeah, like, you should be more excited for the game than you is to think about the cold. Because if you're cold all week anyway, so, like, the game come, you know, you might not always practice in the cold, but it's like, you can make it a few hours in the cold. Like, this is, this is your profession, right?
Starting point is 00:13:00 But if you go, you go through a little routine. My best advice, I take a shower before even hot games. But if you're in cold through a little routine My best advice I take a shower Before even hot games But if you're in cold games Take you a shower If you're a Vaseline guy Vaseline that body down Close them pores If you're a Tiger Balm guy
Starting point is 00:13:13 Whatever you use Use that Once you hop out that shower Them pores is open Use that Vaseline Get right Get your feet Get your hands and your feet
Starting point is 00:13:21 That's the main thing Get cold Yeah It's a wrap Oh yeah I gotta keep Them toes Gotta keep them toes warm Them toes Them toes Get your feet. Get your hands and your feet. That's the main thing. Your feet get cold. It's a wrap. Oh, yeah. I got to keep them toes warm. And your toes. And your toes. And your fingertips.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Once them two get cold, them fingers get cold, y'all got to catch them like this. You ain't trying to hit y'all. Hit your body. It'll show the pads already. Brick. Like, this cold is frozen.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Yeah, dick. You got to hold that baby. You got to hold that baby is frozen you gotta hold that baby you gotta hold that baby Keon you'll figure
Starting point is 00:13:48 it out but the cold really fun though because nobody on the defensive side really be trying to
Starting point is 00:13:52 hit because they hurt but they just trying to push me out of bonds and stuff so you can't
Starting point is 00:13:58 just be off to the rest hey listen I know you're not a scout I know you're not a GM I know you're
Starting point is 00:14:03 not in the front office you were rookie last year. But based on how well you guys played offensively, obviously having Josh Allen, and you know your defense, if you were a GM, if you were in the Bills front office, in the war room draft day, what do you think your team needs to improve
Starting point is 00:14:21 if any area needs improving? I think it's always room for improvement. Yeah, always. to improve if any area needs improving? Hmm. I think there's always room for improvement. Yeah, always. But, we did deal with quite a bit of injuries,
Starting point is 00:14:31 you know, but on the defensive side of the ball, I'll go D-line and corner. Okay. And probably look for another guy at safety
Starting point is 00:14:40 that can play that hybrid safety position. So, up and down, in the box, and... Okay, okay. I'll go D-line. Anywhere on that D-line,
Starting point is 00:14:50 I'll go one or two D-linemen. Give me a corner. Actually, I get two corners. You always need that right there. They can have that. So I'll give me two corners. And then I'm going to give me another receiver that can play different positions like that.
Starting point is 00:15:03 What do you think? I saw reports, and it might be possible. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but maybe Stephon Diggs reuniting, coming back to Buffalo? I don't know. My ear gonna be in that door. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:15:18 If he come back, I'll be happy to have him as another guy in the room to learn from. Listen, for me, the outside looking in, add another weapon like Stephon that knows the offense, that knows Josh Allen. Most of the pressure wouldn't be on him just being
Starting point is 00:15:34 there to contribute in a way. Obviously, being a veteran presence for some of the young guys, I think it would be a good look for you guys. Hell, I mean, I like it. I like it. I like it. And you don't mind leaving, like I said.
Starting point is 00:15:49 I don't know. My ears will be in that window. I don't be hearing that about that. Let me ask you this. We have Josh Allen. What's it been like? Because you go to a team and you got one of the better quarterbacks in the National Football League.
Starting point is 00:16:01 It ain't no, oh, man, I don't know. I sure hope we can win today. You got this guy. There's an expectation to win. There's not a hope. You don't hope to win. Sometimes you have quarterbacks. Man, if the defense can hold them to 17,
Starting point is 00:16:15 if we can get a couple of big plays, create turnovers in special teams, we can win. You go out there every week with 17 as your quarterback expecting to win. What is it meant like playing and having 17 calling plays in the huddle? I mean, it's real fun. You know, we have a lot of fun even throughout the game. We be joking around.
Starting point is 00:16:37 You know, it's a place where we all can be loose and still be professional and get our job done. But with him back there, bro, it's like it's a blessing. I say it's a blessing to be able to be blessed with a quarterback of that talent. As a rookie, as a younger guy, most guys come in and be great, but struggle because the quarterback is not up to par.
Starting point is 00:16:53 But my quarterback demands greatness, and he demands you to be where you need to be, and that ball will come on down. Even if you didn't expect it, it's still there. It's always going to be a catchable ball. It's not easy playing with a guy like that because you have to stay active. You might think he's going to be on one side and like, damn, how you get way over there and your ball coming out? It's like, it's not easy.
Starting point is 00:17:15 You ain't got time to say damn. Run. Take off. Take off. Hey, when you hear the crowd go, ah, you start looking. Find it. You got to take off. You better go meet him on you start looking, find it. You got to take it up. You better go meet them on the other side of the field.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You want that right. That got to be an awesome feeling, being able to play with somebody that's elite, one of the best in the game. Listen, probably top three, top four in the NFL that can extend plays and play off script. So regardless of when the play breaks down, you still know you have an opportunity to get a ball. That has to be a great thing.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I got one question that really had nothing to do with football. I think, if I'm not mistaken, Buffalo is known for its wings, yes? Yeah, they got some problems. If there was a wing spot, I know you've only been there a year, if there was a wing spot and you had to choose where to go to get wings, where would you go? Barbelle? Oh, they got this place called
Starting point is 00:18:08 it's Love something. I don't know the name of it. I just know where it's at. It's downtown in Buffalo. But either there or Barbelle. And y'all got baby. I need them to add that honey lemon pepper and that hot lemon pepper. I need both of those flavors on all
Starting point is 00:18:23 the menus. That's the only flavor they missing for me. Hot Lemon Purple and Honey Lemon Purple. I need both of those. They ain't got no wing stuff out there in Buffalo, huh?
Starting point is 00:18:36 Nah. We ain't got that. Wow. I don't think so. I ain't seen one. Well, you all, I mean, you ride across the, you ride across the bridge
Starting point is 00:18:42 from Toronto. You, you, you, you travel across the bridge? Hey, I, ooh. That ain't no, that ain't right across the bridge from Toronto. You travel across the bridge? Hey, ooh. That ain't right across the bridge. That's an hour and a half. Man, Toronto ain't no hour and a half. Man, how you going to tell me?
Starting point is 00:18:53 It's an hour and a half. Because when I came to Buffalo, I went across the bridge. And that traffic ridiculous. And you heard what she said, huh? What'd you say? What'd you say, Kia? That traffic ridiculous. Oh, my.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Soon as you cross the border and you get down to Toronto, traffic ridiculous. Oh, that ain't no change, because when we went across there, it wasn't no hour, because you know we, hey, you know we land, hey, drop them bags off. Where y'all was standing at, dude? Where y'all was standing at? Y'all was in the city of Buffalo? No.
Starting point is 00:19:23 I don't think so because, man. Y'all had to be. We was like a 20-minute cab ride. From where? From Toronto. No, you must be talking about from the border. Once you cross the border, that ain't Toronto. You got to drive to Toronto.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Hey, I don't know, but they tell us we was in Toronto, so I took their word for it. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on, Keon. I'm trying in Toronto, so I took their word for it. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on, Keon. I'm trying to figure out, if you flew in for a game and y'all playing the Bills, what you were doing in Toronto? Oh, my bad.
Starting point is 00:19:52 My bad. My bad. Hey, my bad. That's what I said. There you are. There you are, Keon. My bad. My bad.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Hey, that was a long time ago. I don't remember. I know. What's the name of the spot you went to? I don't remember. Yeah, you remember. You remember? I might even go there.
Starting point is 00:20:10 That was before you were born, Key. I can't even remember that, Key. I ain't going to hold you. You just remember Gold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything was a blur. Let me ask you this. You're Seminoles.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Are you more Florida State or are you more Michigan State? Because your Seminoles fell on hard times this year, Keith. Man, I can't even answer that question. I spent more years at Michigan State than I did at Florida State.
Starting point is 00:20:43 But Florida State was a real iconic seven, eight months that I was there. So I'm both. But Michigan State, you know, got a whole new culture to have come from the West Coast. So it's a different program than when I was there. But, you know, some of my same guys still there in the weight room and stuff like that. So I'm both sides. I'll be watching somewhat. But, you know, most of the guys that I was like, my younger guys when I was there at different schools. So I'm full-sized. I'll be watching somewhat, but you know, most of the guys that I was like,
Starting point is 00:21:05 my younger guys when I was there at different schools, so I watched different teams. Okay. You still, you still think
Starting point is 00:21:10 and you still like, you supporting them? Yeah, I support players more so, because teams change. University, coach,
Starting point is 00:21:18 all that change. I mean, that's like my favorite player was Kobe. If Kobe would have ever left, forget the Leaping, you know?
Starting point is 00:21:24 So that's just me. I root for my young guys that was under me and that I played with. And, you know, I got a guy out of Alabama that I watch battle games. Now, I ain't never really watched no battle games. But he there. And you got different guys in different areas. I watch their games to support them. Hey, sometimes you wear two mouthpieces, right?
Starting point is 00:21:42 I know I'm not sure. What's that about? Where does that come from? Is that from Little League? Is that something you've always done? I remember seeing you do it in Florida State.
Starting point is 00:21:49 If I'm not mistaken, you did in the league too, right? I did in a few games, but man, by the time you forget, I don't even wear a mouthpiece in the game. So I just have them.
Starting point is 00:21:59 And if I didn't put them on there before the game, then they probably wouldn't have been put on. But at Florida State, I used to wear to Apple Watch. Whatever Apple Watch band, they used to send me
Starting point is 00:22:08 the bad colors. But the team, and I just to wear it, like I just to be trolling, wearing the team colors. It was fine at first when I did it. But now,
Starting point is 00:22:17 everybody's just throwing like random colors. It don't hit the thing. Okay, okay, okay. When it's the opposing team colors, it look fine. Okay. I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Are you a talker? Do you talk trash during the game? Do you like, hey, bro, hey. You about to find yourself on the waiver while DeMar is trying to deal with me. Nah, I'll be chilling, bro. But if they say something to me, then it's zero to a minute.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Oh, yeah. I just be vibing. I come there to do my job. I'm like, ooh, ooh, ooh. But the moment you say something, it can be something nice. I don't want to hear it. Just don't talk to me. Right, right, right. I come there to do my job. But the moment you say something, it can be something nice. I don't want to hear it. Just don't talk to me.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Right, right, right. We're going to be good. So you had you. But somebody said something, then I'm on 10. Now, do you have any issues with any DBs this year
Starting point is 00:22:54 that really talk trash to you? Or was everybody kind of straight? No, only, only, only, only, only person said something.
Starting point is 00:23:03 And we can't, I don't want to end it, but, I mean, shit, that was the only person that really told me something all year. Okay, only, uh, Willard, Willard, only person said so. And we can't hide out or end it, but, I mean, shit, that was the only person really, really told me something all year. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Keon, man, thanks for joining us tonight, bro. We really appreciate it. Continued success. Hey, build on that rookie season.
Starting point is 00:23:15 You got your sophomore season. Your quarterback's back in the fold. It's time to take that next step, bro. It's time to be, hey, when we talk about these top receivers, it's time to make sure Uncle Nocho have your name in that discussion. Yes, sir. I will, man. Trust me. All right. Congratulations on your rookie season.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Congratulations on your rookie season. We'll see you down the road, man. Take care. Hey, if you need a DB for some one-on-ones, let me know. I'll lock you up. Oh, my God. Bring your cleats and bring them down. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Bring my cleats and bring your belt. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Bring my cleats and belt.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Bring your cleats and belt. We ain't going to run for it. I take what you do. You might as well wire that 10 to me. Because if you ain't never seen my DB skills, you ain't catching nothing. And make sure Josh Allen there. Because I don't want no excuse to say I ain't have my quarterback.
Starting point is 00:24:04 My sister can throw a little B that open. It don't matter. It don't want no excuse to say I ain't have my quarterback. My sister can throw a little V-day open. It don't matter. It don't matter who. You. Man, boy, you done bumped your head. Boy, I'm a child of God. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:24:13 You're coming out here soon, right? What size you up? I wear 11. All right, I got some police for you. I'll bring you your own. You training in Houston? I'll be everywhere, wherever you need me.
Starting point is 00:24:24 No, I'll come there. I'll come there. I don be everywhere, whatever you mean. I'll come there. I'll come there. I don't want to hit those. I don't like Miami. I'm not coming down there. You got to come see me in Texas. I come to Texas.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Who's the quarterback? I don't want no excuse me. It don't matter. It don't matter. All right. A blind man can throw it. I'm that old. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:41 All right. Say less. I'm going to see you in a minute. All right, bro. Congratulations again. See you down the right, bro. Congratulations again. See you down the road, bro. A lot of times the big economic forces we hear about on the news show up in our lives in small ways. Three or four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding, but the price has gone up, so now I only buy one. The demand curve in action. And that's just one of the things we'll be covering on Everybody's Business from Bloomberg Businessweek. I'm Max Chavkin. And I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith. Every Friday, we will be diving into the biggest stories in business,
Starting point is 00:26:18 taking a look at what's going on, why it matters, and how it shows up in our everyday lives. With guests like Businessweek editor Brad Stone, sports reporter Randall Williams, and consumer spending expert Amanda Mull will take you inside the boardrooms, the backrooms, even the signal chats that make our economy tick. Hey, I want to learn about VeChain. I want to buy some blockchain or whatever it is that they're doing. So listen to Everybody's Business on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on Good Company, the podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's
Starting point is 00:26:57 next. In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there's so many stories out there, And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No.
Starting point is 00:28:14 It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us
Starting point is 00:28:38 still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. oh cho miles garrett explained his change of heart he had a john q moment a change of heart and explained why he's staying in cleveland i think some i think i had some frustration and i feel like that helped us grow it and have a conversation where difficult difficult but needed
Starting point is 00:29:22 to be had that created a little more discourse, helped build some relationships and reaffirmed them. Now I feel like we're in a better place. Now we can move on and grow from there. Despite Garrett's explanation, the perception surrounding his decision to stay remains he was prioritizing money over winning. And NFL Network Kyle Brandt said Garrett should have been more straightforward
Starting point is 00:29:45 about role money played instead with the Browns. It was about money. And the money said we want to win and we want to do it now. Eli, I ain't got no problem with that. I have no problem, Ocho, with him getting that kind of money. But he know, how you going to win now
Starting point is 00:30:02 you ain't got no quarterback? You in the same position. The only difference that Miles Garrett is in now is that he got $123 million guaranteed. $100 million over the first three years. That is the only thing that has changed.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Nothing has changed towards him winning. Who they going to win with, Ocho? I have a question. Yes. You know, you understand, you know why you wanted to leave. You understand why you wanted to leave. You understood also when you asked to talk to management, they told you we're not talking. We don't want to talk to you and we're not training you.
Starting point is 00:30:40 No, the owner didn't want to have the conversation. He said talk to Andrew Barry, who's the general manager, who's running it. He wasn't going to have the conversation. He said, talk to Andrew Barry, who's the general manager who's running it. He wasn't finna have no conversation either because you know what we finna do? We know how to get you to want to be here. We gonna pay you. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:55 We gonna pay you. He had no more guaranteed money. All the guaranteed money that he had signed that big contract that made him the highest paid defender at one point in time was gone. Now, instead of pretending like I'm looking greedy and asking for a contract, you know what? I want to win.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I ain't got no problem. Look, and I don't want anybody to take this the wrong way. I really don't have a problem with that. Right. But everybody that's looking at this objectively and realistically knows that Miles Garrett is in no better situation today. The only better situation is financially.
Starting point is 00:31:29 He's in no better situation. They're not even close to winning. Also, you got to think about it. Him wanting to trade and saying, I don't want to be here, they wouldn't let him go anyway. They wouldn't let him go.
Starting point is 00:31:40 So, I mean, you stuck between a rock and a hard place because he knew that. We're not trading place because we're upset. He knew that. We're not trading you. Ocho, he knew it. Listen, even when they want to trade, when players want to get traded, sometimes they'll come to him and offer money.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Hey, and guess what? Carson Palmer. Carson Palmer really wanted to be out of there. Since they couldn't offer him enough money, couldn't they, Ocho? No, he refused to come. Remember, he said at home. That's when you want to get up out of there. Right. Yeah. Miles, he refused to come. Maybe he said at home. That's when you want to get up out of there. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Yeah. Miles, it was always about money. Miles wanted more guaranteed money. Miles wanted to be the highest paid defender. I got no problem whatsoever. But I want people to objectively say, you tell me that Miles Garrett is in a better situation and is in a situation
Starting point is 00:32:24 that's more conducive to winning today than he was a month ago. Right. No. I mean, we all understand that. That's all. Get your money. Get your money.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Also, management doesn't want to lose that centerpiece of that defense. Management doesn't want to lose the identity to that defense. You know, that defense, it was good. It was good. I'm the identity to that defense. That defense, it was good. It was good. I'm not sure what the numbers were last night, but if you look at them across the board, they are good. Denzel Ward, Miles Garrett, along with the rest of the support
Starting point is 00:32:55 camps. They can be as good as they want to. If your offense ain't no good, you ain't going nowhere. What are they going to do with the quarterback position? We'll find out. Listen, we'll find out in April. We're going to find out. We're going to find out in April. You bring somebody young.
Starting point is 00:33:09 You get a veteran presence in there to probably start this year. They at least give you a chance. Maybe Kirk Cousins. I'm not sure what's going to happen. You know? So, listen, I'm just excited for every goddamn body. People getting their money. I ain't got no problem with that money.
Starting point is 00:33:24 Yeah, I don money yeah i don't i don't but but my thing is now unless you get one of these rookies and he's like jayden daniels you really not going now look it was reported that russell wilson was scheduled to visit i saw it last week so i don't know if that business happened thursday right he was last week first oh it was last week i think i think so uh chad yall can correct Ochoa and I if we're wrong, but I think I read it last week that he was supposed to have a visit to Cleveland and the Giants, and I don't know which day each visit was scheduled, but that's what I read.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Now, the situation, it's also being reported, I don't know if there's any truth to this, that in the process of getting his money, he wanted him to work something out with Nick Chubb. Right. I don't know. You know any truth to this, that in the process of getting his money, he wanted him to work something out with Nick Chubb. Right. I don't know. You know, you read, I read. I don't know what's true.
Starting point is 00:34:11 All I'm just saying is what I read. And I hate that I brought that up because that was in the paper, and we don't really know if that's true. And if it is, that was a very noble and honorable thing to do. Yes. One of the guys that's been there as long as you had, I think he came, I think he came a year before. I mean, no,
Starting point is 00:34:30 he came a year after because I think he came with Baker. I think Chubb was the second round pick with Baker Mayfield. I'm almost, I'm almost sure of that, but he's been one of the leaders in the locker room. He's been one of the leaders in the locker room. And, and, and miles felt that he would he wanted if they're gonna win i want i won't i won't chill to be a part of it yeah i i like it
Starting point is 00:34:56 i like it uh chubb coming off of his second year after acl tear i'm sure you're gonna have a better season this year if we can get we can get back to the show, we're used to seeing regards to who's at the quarterback position. I think that makes things a little easier for them in that area, simply because it's, to me, it's almost a comparison. I'm not saying Derek Henry,
Starting point is 00:35:17 but he ain't too goddamn far off. If you watch, if you watch Nick Chubb play, play over the years, he ain't, he ain't that far off on. You know what, Ocho? I just don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:28 I mean, that was a serious injury that he's coming back from. Yeah, man. And he had an injury in college. So the determination, I just hope he can get some resemblance of being the back that he once was. Most times we don't see power backs.
Starting point is 00:35:47 We don't see power backs. It's been very few power backs have the longevity of Adrian Peterson, of Derrick Henry. We're talking about not contact, collision backs. Run to collision. They'll run you over. They're not really trying to run nobody. They're trying to punish you and make you turn it down
Starting point is 00:36:08 because that tackle that you make in the first and second quarter, you're going to be a little bit more apprehensive in the third and the fourth quarter. And if you notice, as the game progresses, those guys get stronger. Yeah. Yeah. Bro, you ain't got to run on me but one time with a bus. I will dodge that bus the next time I see that mofo coming. Every time. Every time.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I've never seen a running back. There have been many of them. I've never seen a running back run as violently as violently as all day. Adrian Peterson. I ain't never seen. Adrian Peterson, Mary Ann Barber
Starting point is 00:36:44 didn't have the same type of success or acceleration or. Didn't have the longevity. The longevity. But something about Adrian Peterson, he played. What did they do wrong to you for you to run the ball like that? Angry. Beast mode ran like that. Oh, my goodness. Beast Mode had a long Beast Mode had a long career
Starting point is 00:37:08 but if you go back and look at the guy that comes to the top of my head and I don't know how many people in the chat old enough to remember was Earl Campbell Earl was like that but Earl only lasted like 7-8 years and I don't know if y'all have seen Earl, Earl has been in a wheelchair for the last 20-25 years
Starting point is 00:37:24 yeah yeah And I don't know if y'all have seen Earl. Earl has been in a wheelchair for the last 20, 25 years. For real? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So now Earl has done great off the field. He got a meatpacking, hot links, and stuff like that, sausages, stuff like that. So he's done really well. But Earl ran to contact. He was a collision back, not a contact, because contact and collision are two different things.
Starting point is 00:37:47 And normally those guys that run to have collisions, they don't have a longevity. Adrian Peterson played, what, 12, 13 years. You see D. Henry play the number of years he's playing. I mean, he went for 2,000. He was on a pace to have another 2,000 yards. He got hurt at rushing for about 1,100 with eight games to go.
Starting point is 00:38:08 So he was on pace to get another. He had a knee injury. Bounces back from that. Go get 1,500. Comes to the Ravens. Goes and gets 1,900. That's crazy. I've never seen anything like Derrick Henry. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like Derrick Henry.
Starting point is 00:38:24 A guy runs like that that goes over 2,000, and then comes within 80 yards from having 2,000 again? Right. That's crazy. It absolutely is. But hopefully Chubb can get some of what he lost, Ocho, from that injury. Because you know every time, Ocho, them injuries, they take a little bit out of you every time. It does. Take a little bit out of you every time.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Yeah. Yeah, it does. But listen, even as a Bengal fan, I would love the Browns at full strength. And whatever decisions they do make, whether it be in offseason acquisitions, whether it be through the draft, I would love them at full strength when they do play my Bengals
Starting point is 00:39:08 so there are no excuses about, oh, we didn't have a quarterback or our running back was hurt. I want to make sure Miles Garrett is there when we put up 50 points. I want them at full strength.
Starting point is 00:39:19 I'm sure we have people in the chat that are Browns fans. I love you. I love you dearly. I love you dearly. I love you dearly. But come this season, we know who's running the AFC North.
Starting point is 00:39:30 I know we have Ravens fans. Who? Ravens. I know we have Ravens fans in the chat. And you know how I feel about you. And I tell you this, I've been telling you this since 2001. I love every last one of you. Huh? Every last one of you. Huh?
Starting point is 00:39:46 Every last one of you. Oh, so y'all ain't won but a handful of games? Damn! Let me finish my speech. We know this year, 2025, the AFC North is coming through the 5-1-3. Now, if you need me to come sit with y'all at M&T Bank, what's it called, M&T Bank?
Starting point is 00:40:04 Yeah. Yeah. What's the area code of&T Bank? Yeah. Yeah. What's the area code of Raven? 443? Anybody from BMO in the chat? What is it? 443? I know we got Raven fans in the chat.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Definitely. Definitely. I love every last one. First of all, we already know Cincinnati don't run nothing, but they rock. Y'all don't run nothing but they rock, Miles. Y'all don't run nothing. Ain't nothing coming through no Cincinnati. Stop that. One thing that you can learn about my organization that you can see
Starting point is 00:40:33 that we proved, we've done something historical that we've never done before that was out of character. 4-10. That's right. 4-10. What's that? Baltimore. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Oh, it is 4-4-3. I10. What's that? Baltimore. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Okay. Okay. Oh, it is 443. I remember. Yeah. I used to have a, I ain't never had no Ravens. I think I had a landline.
Starting point is 00:40:55 I did have a landline, but that was 20 years. Man, hold up. First of all, Ocho, you make me say I had a landline yesterday. Hell, that was 20 years ago when I was in Baltimore. But the way you said it, like it was yesterday. So you don I had a landline yesterday. Had I was 20 years ago when I was in Baltimore. But the way you said it, like it was yesterday.
Starting point is 00:41:08 So you don't have a landline in your house right now? No. Why not? Who going to call me on the landline? People call you on your cell phone. Oh, yeah, I was just asking. I was just asking, when the last time you seen a pay phone? Let me tell you what I did.
Starting point is 00:41:31 Y'all been with this right here? I can't see it. That's a no-key. That's a no-key? That's a no-key. That's B and O. Oh, who? Hello?
Starting point is 00:41:46 Yeah. Yeah. Baby. Yeah, yeah. It's about carbon. Tall, big booty. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it. Yeah. I saw her. I saw her. I saw her. She got like two kids. Not bad, yeah. She still look good.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Yeah, all right. Mm-mm. Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me call you back. This is my brother calling. Let me call you back. Hey, Joe, let me get that right there. Hey, that just had a conversation be going, too, huh?
Starting point is 00:42:24 Yeah. Oh, Joe. Look what I did. Look at it. Look at it to be going to, huh? Yeah. Oh, Joe. Look what I did. Look at it right here. Look at it right here. Who that again, Joe? That's us? Hey, that's us? Yeah, that's y'all.
Starting point is 00:42:38 And guess what? In the end zone, I win. What? What number is that Bengal jersey? I don't know. We call it rerun. hands on, I win. What? What number is that? What number is that? That Bengal jersey? I don't know. We call it rerun. You remember how rerun was chasing that truck on What's Happening? Right. That's him.
Starting point is 00:42:54 That's him. That's my rookie year, ain't it? Uh, I don't think you were there yet, Ocho. Okay. October 7, 2001. That is you. That's your rookie year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was there yet, Ocho. Okay. That is October 7, 2001. That is you. That's your real name.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was there. I'm trying. I wonder what Darnay and P-Dub did that game. Nothing. Nothing. Not a damn thing. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:43:17 I don't know about that. I know. I don't know about that. Nothing. They didn't do nothing. Who won the game? I lost one game in 14 years to the Bengals. Did I score?
Starting point is 00:43:32 I don't think so. Y'all beat, y'all beat. When we came to y'all, y'all beat us. I think y'all beat us by like three points. Yeah, that was me. That was me. That was me. Hey.
Starting point is 00:43:43 No, that wasn't you. That wasn't you. No. But, that wasn't you. That wasn't you. Nah. But, uh, nah, look, I don't want people
Starting point is 00:43:49 to think I got a problem. I don't got no problem with Miles Garrett. I just think the thing was that was his play all along. He played it perfectly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:56 He played it. He played it perfectly. Right. He did. Yeah. Right, he did. Look at that right here, Ocho. What's that? I know that's not a camcorder. Hey, you better know it.
Starting point is 00:44:18 Hey, you know as soon as I seen the bag, I knew what it was, huh? Hey, I know you got, you you got, you went to free me. Hey, hey, be like Spike Lee, do the right thing. So you was there? You, you was there? You... Huh?
Starting point is 00:44:47 You was there? Was I? I wanna see the footage. No, you can't do this, Ocho. No? Mm-mm. All things will stop. Everything.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Hey, boy, I could imagine, boy. This going right back to the vault. I could imagine. You still got a VCR? Nah. I bet you ain't got no CD player. Nah, but I got a bunch of cell phones upstairs. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:45:17 A bunch of them. I'm talking about, I got to keep all my cell phones. I bet you ain't got no sidekick. Nah, I wasn't in the sidekick, so I ain't going to lie to you. You had a Beaver, a Pager? Nope. I bet you ain't got the Motorola Block phone. I do got, it's in Glenville.
Starting point is 00:45:33 I got the big one. Yeah, the big one. Okay, okay. I got the StarTAC. I got a bunch of phones upstairs. Okay, okay, okay. Hold on just a second. Keep on talking. Let me go upstairs right quick.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Hold on. All right, chat. Listen, chat, while he goes upstairs and rummages through all the stuff from the 80s, I want to talk about my Bengals. I want to talk about my Bengals, and I want to tell you what's going to happen this year. Now, I've always been right when it comes to predicting stuff, and I'm rarely wrong. I'm rarely wrong. Now, I think about last year, I was wrong twice in a 17-18 game season, including the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:46:07 I guessed the playoffs all the way right. I said the Eagles are probably going to win the Super Bowl. Again, they were going to play the Chiefs. Boom. I was right. So this year, the AFC North is going to go through Cincinnati. It's going to go through Cincinnati. So what's going to happen, the way it's going to play out is we're probably going to score
Starting point is 00:46:24 40 to 50 points a game. 40 to 50 points a game and our defense is going to be adequate and just good enough to stop teams, maybe allow maybe 17 to 20 points a game. That's how it's going to go. I'm not telling you what I heard. I'm telling you what I know because it's the way the game goes and just the way things are flowing in general. For us as an organization to do something that's never been done before, that's out of character for us as a team and organization, it's going to reward ourselves. The football gods are going to reward us simply because we did something that we've never done before and we made history okay i think i think now i don't have the numbers in front of me it's possible that we can sign trey hendrickson i think it's possible and so we're going to do that now that's one staple you know that's one staple that we can have that's part of the ecosystem defensively if we can get that back uh you know
Starting point is 00:47:25 i i'm not sure um secondary we got some good dudes out there on on the corner safety i'm not sure what's going on with vaughn and in some of the safeties or whatnot but outside of that if you're a gambler man if there any gambler women in the chat i'm telling you now put your money put your money on the bangles. We're going to be in San Francisco and I'm going to meet you all there sometime in February. And that's it. Outside of that, I hope you all had a good Monday. I had a great Monday.
Starting point is 00:47:55 You see my jacket. This is a leopard or cheetah. I'm not sure. They all look the same. Hello. I love you all. I don't know. They all look the same. Hello. I love y'all. I don't know what else to say right now. Oh, Joe, this is the only one I can fire at.
Starting point is 00:48:11 You remember this one? That's a Razor. That's a Razor. A StarTag. StarTag, right? See, I knew it. It was either Razor or StarTag. One or the other.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Chad, y'all got this. The antenna come up, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember them. I remember them. I remember that. I remember that. We, yeah, yeah. I remember them. I remember them. I remember that. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Yeah. Where your beeper at? I ain't have no beeper. Oh, yeah. I still got it. But I got to get Shelly. I'm with you. I have them, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:48:35 Because I know Shelly put them somewhere. But I got about, I think, Ocho. Ocho. Same one up Shelly put them somewhere but I got like 17 I got the original iPod

Starting point is 00:50:00 I want everything I told you, Ocho. Yeah. I would need a crane in my casket. To carry my casket, six can't do it. Too many skeletons. Too many secrets, Ocho. Too many secrets. I got you.

Starting point is 00:50:46 You got tackled on that play. That was my first year in Baltimore I caught a touchdown. Look at 2000, Ash. I thought I caught a touchdown on them. Travis Taylor had four for 66. I had three for 32. Kadri had three for 31. Brandon Stokely had one for 23. Todd Heap had four for 66. I had three for 32. Uh, Kadri had three for 31. Starting point is 00:51:07 Todd Heap had one for 18. Todd Williams had two for five. Yeah. Ocho, you're having 10 yards of catch. Yeah. Nine, 9.3.
Starting point is 00:51:20 Y'all had 153 yards. What, offense? Yeah, uh, passing. Oh, that's bad. Yep. y'all had 153 yards what offense yeah pass it oh that's bad yep TJ led y'all with 63 you was next with 28
Starting point is 00:51:33 that's me that's me that's me I would I would get John this guy had one for 20 Danny Farmer had two for 16 Corey had two for 12
Starting point is 00:51:41 Peter Wark had one for seven Ron Duggins had one for four and Lorenzoarnk had one for seven. Ron Duggins had one for four. And Lorenzo Neal had one for three. Hey, Zo. What's Zo? As a matter of fact, I just saw him at the Super Bowl, Ocho. Zo? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Yeah, that's my guy, man. Lorenzo a funny boy. Oh, yeah. Hey, yeah, in 2000, I scored. Had five for 40 on the tub. That wasn't me. Well, only we won the game, though. Y'all didn't win no...
Starting point is 00:52:11 Y'all actually... Hold on. Pull up, Ash. Pull up Cincinnati's totals. I guarantee you won that game. Pull up their totals. I don't think y'all... Y'all might have not scored.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Don't do that. I definitely... Boy, they not... Go back and look at that game. Pull up that total. I don't think y'all, y'all might have not scored. Don't do that. I definitely. Boy, we not, boy, they not. Go back and look at that film and watch Ron Burnett. If y'all see the highlights, go back and look at that here. In 2000, Ron Burnett put on a Keely Smith. He might have not played no more that year. Well, he must have caught him from the blast side, huh?
Starting point is 00:52:43 Boy, hey, caught him. Hey, he was looking just like this. No, he was like this. And Ron Burnett, he put his helmet right up on his chin. A lot of times the big economic forces we hear about on the news show up in our lives in small ways. Three or four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding, but the price has gone up, so now I only buy one. The demand curve in action, and that's just one of the things we'll be covering on Everybody's Business
Starting point is 00:54:13 from Bloomberg Businessweek. I'm Max Chavkin. And I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith. Every Friday, we will be diving into the biggest stories in business, taking a look at what's going on, why it matters, and how it shows up in our everyday lives.
Starting point is 00:54:27 But guests like Business Week editor Brad Stone, sports reporter Randall Williams, and consumer spending expert Amanda Mull will take you inside the boardrooms, the backrooms, even the signal chats that make our economy tick. Hey, I want to learn about VeChain. I want to buy some blockchain or whatever it is that they're doing. So listen to Everybody's Business on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:54:52 I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on good company, the podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there. And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide.
Starting point is 00:55:43 And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second.
Starting point is 00:56:24 I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do.
Starting point is 00:56:55 To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Breaking news. Bengals Jamar Chase and T. Higgins exclusively tell me they've agreed to a contract extension with the team. Jamar gets four years, $161 million with $112 million guaranteed, making him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Tee Higgins gets four years, $115 million with the first two years guaranteed, making him the highest paid wide receiver two in NFL history. Wow. Congratulations, brother Jamar Chase,
Starting point is 00:57:42 brother Tee Higgins they got that deal done Joe Burrow I know Joe is happy very happy to keep that keep that unit together obviously me I didn't think
Starting point is 00:57:53 it would be possible I didn't think it would be possible obviously I can't break down the numbers right now in front of me but the fact
Starting point is 00:57:59 that Joe was able to keep the two main targets yeah keep the two main guys. Yeah, they keep the two main guys together. Man, it's a really good thing. And that's
Starting point is 00:58:10 a step in the right direction for us. And finishing what we need to to get back to the promised land at the end of the season. So I'm happy for them. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:58:26 And kudos to the Blackburn family, to Mike Brown, in getting that done. And let's get some work on that defense in now. Yeah, I don't see how they pay Trey Henderson.
Starting point is 00:58:42 He wants north of $30 million. Right. Yeah. I don't see how. Trey Henderson, he wants north of $30 million. Right. Yeah. I don't see how. I'm not saying it can't be done. I just don't see how. Do you think it's possible
Starting point is 00:58:52 to still pay Trey? What do you think? I mean, that's tying all the money up and just in... Yes! He don't want north of $30. Right. A man has 35 sacks in two years.
Starting point is 00:59:07 Nobody has that many sacks in the past two years. Right. He's been a Pro Bowler both years. I just don't... Like I said, could it happen? Yes. And the question is that you have to ask yourself, is the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl, potentially win it over the next two years,
Starting point is 00:59:23 is that worth potentially being a salary cap to go to the Super Bowl, potentially win it over the next two years, is that worth potentially being a salary cap held in 27, 28? Right. Well,
Starting point is 00:59:34 this is about 25, 26, this is what this is about. Right. Well, you know, listen,
Starting point is 00:59:41 there's a way you can get out of salary cap held is by continuing to restructure those that have large contracts. Yeah. But all you're doing is kicking it down the road. You're not doing anything. You're kicking it down the road because that balloon baby is going to come due now. Oh, at some point.
Starting point is 00:59:58 At some point. But hey, congratulations. I know all, listen, I know my Bengal fans. I know you'reall happy, man. Zim Houdet, I love you. The deal has gotten done. I'm excited. I'm happy.
Starting point is 01:00:12 I'm happy for both of them. I just want to make sure we do what we need to do on the defense end of the ball. We had our problems, our issues offensively and just start late. Just start late in the beginning of the season. We need to fix that, fix that. I think we're going to be all right. But we need to work on that defensive side of the ball and get some off-season acquisitions in,
Starting point is 01:00:35 you know, some help on defense. And I think we're going to be all right. All right. Yeah. Who they? O.J. Brooks, breaking news. Higgins and Chase are back. I mean, let's see.
Starting point is 01:00:49 41, that's 71, Joe Burrow. So that's $126 million annually tied up for three players. That's a lot. How much is that tied between two, huh? $55 million for Joe, $41 for Chase, $30 for Higgins. Okay. That's good, too. That's $126 million.
Starting point is 01:01:15 I like that. That means if you sign Hendrickson, that would be over $150 million. So you'll have half your cap, over half your cap in four players. Woo. I just don't see how they do it. We'll see how they do it. Hold on. I think it's going to pay off.
Starting point is 01:01:41 Have the Bengals ever rolled the dice like this before? No. Has Mike Bryant ever rolled the dice like this before? No. Has Mike Brown ever rolled the dice? No. If it won't change, sometimes you have to do things different.
Starting point is 01:01:50 The definition of insanity and doing the same thing over and over and over and over and getting the same results and expecting something to change, the fact that he's willing to change,
Starting point is 01:02:00 the fact that the Blackburn family and the Mike Brown family are willing to do something different, it lets you know, all right, you know what? We are intent on winning. We're intent on winning and doing what's necessary to make sure we do. For one, to contend in the AFC North and then further ourselves in the playoffs when the time comes. I like it. I like it. I'm excited. I'm excited. I saw T. Higgins just tweeted,
Starting point is 01:02:29 T. Higgins just tweeted the handshake, handshake emoji. That's dope. That's tight. That's tight. I'm happy. I'm excited. Yeah, so when we win the AFC North,
Starting point is 01:02:40 you know why. It happened. Did the Ravens trade L. Jack? Hold on, hold on, hold on. This is not what we're going to do. This is not what we're going to do. The AFC North this year, I'm not talking about
Starting point is 01:02:55 what's happened in the past. I'm talking about this year. It's running through Cincinnati. It's running through 5-1-3. I'm just letting you know ahead of time. No one has ever said the road to the Super Bowl goes through Cincinnati. It's running through 5-1-3. I'm just letting you know ahead of time. No one has ever said the road to the Super Bowl goes through Cincinnati. You know what? And you know
Starting point is 01:03:11 what happened? No one has ever seen Mike Brown and Troy and Katie do what they've done today. Okay. Okay. Alright. Ocho, there has reportedly been quite the vibe shift for wide receiver Garrett Wilson after the New York Jets moved on from Aaron Rodgers and added Justin Fields this offseason.
Starting point is 01:03:32 Yeah. Wilson has told friends he's thrilled with the addition of Fields. ESPN's Rich Cimini wrote Sunday, It's no secret that he and Rodgers didn't see eye to eye last season, but now he has a quarterback he knows and respects. They've maintained a good relationship, another reason Wilson said to be excited about 2025. In December, the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported,
Starting point is 01:03:57 all is not well with Rodgers and Wilson, and added that privately there have been questions regarding whether Rodgers or Wilson can find common ground since they had a blow up during training camp, which I tried to tell Ocho. Ocho said, don't worry about that. I didn't think it would be anything bad because I've had those same
Starting point is 01:04:16 kind of talks with John Kidd and I've had those same talks with Carson Palmer. But not every day? Oh, not every day. I thought it was just that one clip. No, you saw them talking every day. Yeah. Most of the time, I think they weren't able to get just that one clip. No, you saw them talking every day. Yeah. Most of the time, I think they weren't able to get on the same page. Aaron Rodgers wanted things done a certain way,
Starting point is 01:04:31 and Garrett Wilson was kind of complaining. Whatever it may have been, it didn't work out. I like the fact that he had Justin Fields, and I know one thing, goddamn Fields going to give that ball to Brother Wilson. He going to feed it to him, and they going to find ways to get him back where he was his rookie season. Yeah. Where he's very productive.
Starting point is 01:04:52 To that decision. Hey, they got to come see five with that bag now. Yeah. They got to come see five with that bag. He's the top ten receiver in the NFL right now. He didn't look like it from a productive standpoint last year because the offense was in disarray, but he's
Starting point is 01:05:07 going to get back to that. This is Justin Fields' year, too. Justin Fields can make himself some good money. You know if he have a good season, huh? If he have himself a good season and they be like, you know what? This is the quarterback of the future for us.
Starting point is 01:05:23 And he play how I think he should play. Now that you have nothing to worry about behind you, you ain't got to worry about nobody taking your spot. All you have to do is just play football freely and just focus. This is your team. This could be your team. They can hand you the keys.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Coach O, I just found it odd that Garrett Wilson was Offensive Rookie of the Year and looked better with Zach Wilson and those guys than he did with Aaron Rodgers. Yeah. I just found it odd. With who? What quarterback? Zach Wilson.
Starting point is 01:05:59 I think he had Joe Flacco, Mike White. I think he had a couple of different quarterbacks. And the guy was offensive rookie of the year, Ocho. Zach Wilson. That was the guy. Yeah. Okay. So, look.
Starting point is 01:06:12 And sometimes, like you said, Rodgers was used to doing things a certain way. And that way, you know, at the end of the day, we got to get a week. Look, if we're trying to do the same thing, there has to be a give and take. Right. Okay. I understand that you are, but I can't do the same thing. They have to be a give and take. Right. Okay. I understand that you, but I can't do everything that you want. I need you to meet me.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Can we, can we meet in the middle? Somewhere halfway. You gotta be, can we meet in the middle? You gotta be on the same page. Yeah. You gotta be.
Starting point is 01:06:36 I'm not saying, look, I'm not saying I can't, I'm not saying that we can't go to brunch, but can we not? Do we have to go to brunch every Sunday? Of every month? Of every week?
Starting point is 01:06:49 Can we, like, just stay home and can I watch the games? Yeah. I mean, there has to be a happy medium somewhere, Ojo. I understand who you are, but understand that, look, am I as accomplished as you? No. But don't think I'm not fair to cheat.
Starting point is 01:07:05 I'm not fair to cheat around this much. Come on now. Yeah, you're right. You're right. You got to be on the same page. The volume. The Made for This Mountain podcast exists to empower listeners
