Starting point is 00:06:20 Thanks to you. Again, none of this is possible without you. The Knicks beat the Cavs. Take a commanding three zero series lead. New York can taste it. It's right there on the cusp to be the first time going to the NBA finals since 1999.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Wow. The highest point differential in a postseason. The Knicks is 2026. are 234 plus 234 in perspective the warriors with Kevin Durant Steph Curry clay and Draymond was only plus 230 the 2014 spurs was 214 that is insane company the last 10 games they've won by 13 16 11 36 39 51 29 29 29 29 29 16 16 16 let that think in only one game has been decided by less than double figure. What happened?
Starting point is 00:07:19 Oh, they don't know that. The average margin of victory, Joe Ocho, 22 and a half points per game. So in the last 10 games, only one team has been able to be within double digits. 13, 16, 11, 30, 14, 6, 39, 51, 29, 21, and 16. Joe, how can the calves get a game, let alone we're not him talking about the series because I think for all intents and purposes, the series are over. How can they get a game when they didn't get into the bonus, Joe, until the last minute of the game?
Starting point is 00:07:57 And that was because Josh Hart, I don't know, for some reason he wanted to challenge a three-point shot. He ended up stepping up under the screws who wasn't able to land. And so that was there. they were going to go an entire quarter Joe and not be in the bonus. I don't know if I've seen that. Maybe I'm sure you have been playing in the NBA
Starting point is 00:08:16 for 17 years, but how does Cleveland summons it up and get a game? I'm not sure they can. Okay, Ocho, I'm going to keep it 100 with y'all tonight. Be very transparent. Listen, I think from game one, it was so demoralizing, bro,
Starting point is 00:08:35 to lose their game being up 22 who was six minutes, seven minutes left on the clock. And then, you know, I kind of gave me the benefit of the doubt. I gave the cast benefit of the doubt. I'm like, well, listen, maybe when they get home, you know, they play with a little more sense of urgency. They'll play a lot harder. They'll feed off their home crowd.
Starting point is 00:08:51 And you've got your role players, the others who we always talk about. You know, they'll come to play. They'll play a lot better. But, man, the lack of energy and effort that I've seen from the calves today, bro. To start the game. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm saying like you want to try to hit first, you know, especially when you're at home, bro, and see if you can break their will.
Starting point is 00:09:12 But man, they just, they have no resistance on none. Like, I agree with you. For you not to get into the penalty, that means you just have a lack of aggressiveness, bro. You're not aggressive. It's not do or die for you. You know what I mean? That's not what they play like to me. I mean, they just had no energy, no effort.
Starting point is 00:09:30 And the Knicks seemed like they were the more desperate team, which I'm sure they are, because they've been in this situation before and knowing that the Knicks are trying to get to the NBA finals, which I think they will do. It's like they understood what was at stake. We got a team down, 02. Let's see if we can put, you know, put them away. And I think they just came in
Starting point is 00:09:49 and they wanted it more than the calves in their own building, bro. It sure seemed that way. I was thinking a lot like you were thinking, I says, okay, that crowd got, they were amped up, you know, Kelts and his fiancé, Taylor Swift was there. The crowd was high. He was getting the crowd hype. But at the end of the day, I mean, you come out and now you're down 9-1, you're down 9-2.
Starting point is 00:10:09 That's not the way you want to start. You want to get the crowd in the game and try to keep them in the game. And it really, I mean, the only time they could get in the game, guys, is when they would mount a comeback to cut the lead to six. Right, right. There was never a situation where they had a league where they're up. They were all ways down. And I'm like, I'm looking at him like, I don't get it. I don't know why he keeps putting Wade in the starting lineup, 17 minutes, no points.
Starting point is 00:10:34 One field goal. I mean, one field goal of Tim. You might as well go and put screws some Maryland in the starting lineup. At least they're a viable option. You need it. They're playing, right now they're playing four on five. You need their threat.
Starting point is 00:10:47 And it's, I don't get it. And, man, I don't know what's going on with Donald Mitchell. I don't. I mean, nine of 21. Yeah, he got 23 points. He had 23 points. What do you expect? Hell, it took him 21 shots to get it.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Yeah. And what? And Joe, help me understand. What's going on with his free throws? I don't know. Two for six. It's so uncareds of risk of him because there's a two guard. He's such a great shooter.
Starting point is 00:11:14 And, I mean, I don't know, man. I don't know. I don't know. But his free throws, his percentage has kind of been going down. Give me what he's shooting in the, in against the Knicks from the free throw line. Ocho, yeah. I mean, you get OG 21. You got Cat, got 13.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Hart got 12. McKell Bridges got 22. McKell Bridges, since those first three games of the Hawks, since the game's four through six, and the next series and what he's done now, he's been playing unbelievable basketball. And this is, this is the Brunson that we expect to see.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah. 10 of 19, 10 of 12, ultra, ultra aggressive, still getting his guys involved, plus 15. Everybody was, you know, plus 15, Josh Hart was plus three.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Carl, Anthony Towns, plus 23, OG plus 11. and Landry Sherman is just coming in just unconscious. He's just unconscious. Man, look, y'all got to give my hawks on credit, man. At least we won two damn games. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:12:15 They swept through Philly and the damn got to sweep through Cleveland, man. Come on, man. Get out of here with all that, bro. Hey, hey, Joe, as much as you want that credit, we're not going to give it to you. You hate her? You a hater? You a hater? I'm not a hater.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I'm not a loser. I'm not a hate it. I'm just saying we're not going to give it to you. I'm not sure what's wrong with the calves, Joe and Unk, especially in the game like this, oh, you're already down too old, right? If anything, you want to come out when it's a fight, and sometimes the person, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:46 you think you can whip you, you always want to throw that first punch. Yeah. You always get that first punch all first. Like, get on. Yeah, you got to get off first just in case you had to get out. That's exactly what this game is. That's exactly what it's serious thing.
Starting point is 00:12:59 It was demoralizing once they were able to come back from down 22 were six minutes left to go. That took everything out to sales. Hey, everything out to sales. But think about it. From a competitor standpoint, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:13:10 you got at least compete, bro. Like, it's just too many, it's just too many empty possessions on the defensive end to where it's just like, oh, yeah, go ahead. Y'all, you get that layup. Yeah, yeah, we ain't tripping.
Starting point is 00:13:21 We ain't tripping. Like, come on, bro. It's the play. Ain't nobody trying to close no door behind them. Ain't nobody closing the door, Joe. They leave the door wide open. Guys get layup OG to the side. McKell Bridges to the side,
Starting point is 00:13:33 Brunson to the side. I'm like, bro, ain't nobody going to close a damn door? Come on, man. Come on, man. Come on, man. That's what I'm saying. Give the Knicks.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Give the Knicks credit. They are playing. The guy, they're making shots. A lot of those shots, I mean, I'm looking at OG, but you can't go out there. If OG had the three point line, you can't go out there with your hand down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:55 They got, I mean, they got, guys can make shots now. Yeah. The likelihood of you putting somebody on the court, There are a few teams that have players that you're not even worried about them making a shot from the three. But the Knicks all five of their guys are alive from the three-point line. You can't walk out there with your damn hand down. Man, listen, I like what Mike Brown has done with the Knicks because he has made it to where a cat is a part of the offense.
Starting point is 00:14:23 He may not take the most damn shots, but he's going to get a lot of touches. And as a big man, as long as they get some touches here and there, bro, you keep them happy. they'll play hard as I don't know what for you. You know what I mean? And I think by him playing through Kett, it turns Brunson into some like an Iverson type. You know what I mean? To where he can come off these downpicks,
Starting point is 00:14:43 then come off the dribble handouts and things. It makes them so much dangerous. And when you got Bridges and O.G. And Josh Hart, Josh won you a game, the last game. Okay, Ocho, scoring 26 points. Yeah, I didn't expect for him to do that again. But if you look at his stat line, bro, 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals,
Starting point is 00:15:06 bro, that's somebody who's playing hard. You know what I mean? Like, he's always going to be able to fake the game, put his stamp on the game, so he's always going to be a plus for them. I just feel like the Knicks have found something. Obviously, that's going to probably more than likely get them to the finals. And by playing through cat, bro, it just makes them so much more of a dangerous team because he spreads the floor.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah, he ain't doing it. whole lot of doggy dirty work down now, but he's playing, he's playing the right way. A high assist game, seven assists. He's been probably leading him in since postseason, if I ain't mistaken. And that makes them just much of a dangerous team. But to Cleveland, come on, man, to be at home. And when you get people to come in your building, bro, Travis Kelsey and his wife, Taylor Swift, like, I don't know about y'all, but when I was playing here in Atlanta or any other place in New York,
Starting point is 00:15:57 like when we get celebs come to the game, it just kind of give you an extra luck off. You know what I mean? Like, yes. You know, you want to put on a great performance. And even if you don't make shots, hell, the least thing you can do is compete at the highest level, bro.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Play hard. That's it. Play hard. They ain't. No, Joe. No, I was saying. They didn't even look like. They, they, they, they, they, they're not being up.
Starting point is 00:16:22 To watch as great as, I mean, this is just my mindset. And I think about some of the narrative that have surrounded Donovan Mitchell, some of the narratives that have surrounded James Hardin in the postseason to come out to a game like this, already down to, oh, there's nowhere in hell. Joe, I'm not all over the place. Man. I'm not all over the place.
Starting point is 00:16:43 It just look as if they didn't want to be out there. I mean, they playing basketball, Joe, but it don't look like they're playing basketball. And I mean that in the most respectful way possible. No resistance. The energy is different. When you're watching both of these teams, here, you're playing home. Hey, you got home quite advantage.
Starting point is 00:17:03 There's no reason it should look the way it looked tonight. No. I think the thing is that they're expecting somebody to come here and lay down and see what happened is in that game seven, you saw what happened with Detroit. Right. The first five minutes the game was over. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:19 That ain't what the Knicks are. The Knicks are going to battle you. One thing about them, they're going to battle you because they got battlers on the court. You look at OG, look at his background. You look at Jop. A guy seemed like that nobody, he's like, man, don't nobody want me. He's found a home to let him do a little bit of everything.
Starting point is 00:17:37 He doesn't have to be great at anything. But he is really, really good at a lot of things. He's going to dive on the floor. He's going to rebound. He can, hey, you put it, hey, they try to run zone. You put it flashing to the top and he'll find the open guy. He can score the points. You say, you know what?
Starting point is 00:17:53 Everybody else can possibly hurt us. You can't. And in game three, in game two, guess what he is? He goes 26 points and has a career high. So he does a lot of little things really, really well. And you don't have to ask him to do that because that's in his DNA. He's going to play hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:11 OG is what OG is. You know he's going to defend. He can rebound. And he can make a. And now he's getting ultra, ultra aggressive. He only took 10 shots. The man took 10 shots and got 21 points. He's been fishing like a mug.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Yes. For the past couple, you know, he didn't play a whole lot in that Philly series, but hell against my hawks, hell. He barely missed. He barely missed. O.G. has been great. I like what they doing with Landry Sherman. You know, when him come on the bench, he's been giving them great minutes.
Starting point is 00:18:40 He's a great complimentary piece to Brunson and towns and bridges and OG them. I just think they kind of got it figured out, fellas. You know, to be honest, I know we talk a lot about my house because we had that bad game six. but ever since then, man, them boys ain't been playing no games, man. It's a team outside of game one from Cleveland, they hadn't been close. Nope.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Games haven't been close. They broke their will, Joe. They did, bro. They broke their will. And if you think about it, Landry Sherman has played so well in game one, normally Jordan Clarkson would get major. Alvarado, they're like, nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Ever since Jordan Clarkston came in there, I mean, excuse me. Shammett came in in that game four and knocked down those three and kind of kept it going in that overtime. He's been coming in and he can't miss. Yeah. Hey.
Starting point is 00:19:33 You get him, he was what, four or five from the three-point line tonight. 14 points. Hey, but there will come a time. The Knicks will need Jordan Clarkson. I just think in this series, Shamay is such a great catch-and-shoot guy. I ain't saying Jordan Clarkson can't catch and shoot,
Starting point is 00:19:50 but he got, he's more a little off the balance. He's more into the ball. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and right now we ain't got time for that. We got a good thing going. We need you to catch a shoot. You know, we need you to catch a shoot. And Sherman is playing great off these guys, bro.
Starting point is 00:20:02 He plays great within himself. Don't do too much. The man went four for five and four for five from three. Like, he is, that's hot. Hell, yeah. And you think about it the other night, well, he was three for three. Yeah. I think the biggest thing is, though, Joe, look at the defense that he's playing.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Landry Sherman is really not known as a defender. But he's played outstanding defense. And when you got a guy that's knocking down, hold on, well, he's known to shoot the ball. Okay, that's a given. But, oh, now he's going to defend. And it's amazing. When guys get a little run, they see a couple of shots go in.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Now all of a sudden, they do that old duke. They hit the flow, like, let's go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you see Landry Shevitt, pick it up James Hardin. You see him pick it up. I'm like, damn, that's you come? Hey. Now, now to the Cavaliers.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Joe, Donovan, James. I mean, I'm just trying to figure out how y'all expect. I mean, you got, they had 16 turnover. This May, IHeart Radio celebrates Asian Heritage Month. Starting point is 00:21:34 And at IHardio.ca. Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, new? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Starting point is 00:21:49 Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how did we... How do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember.
Starting point is 00:22:03 I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title. for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:22:30 But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and friends.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert Lee Boulevard. Get to the grocery store. I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway.
Starting point is 00:23:32 If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akila Hughes. In Rebel Spirit, season two goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky State House that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that? They are just fueling a fire. that is really catching. You'll see what I mean.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jared Adano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet. Help! But there's so much more to me than that.
Starting point is 00:24:19 I'm an actor. I'm a comedian. And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives. Helping people in need with my sage advice. and thoughtful solutions.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Sike! I'm a comedian! I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant, recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man. If I'm calling you,
Starting point is 00:24:46 even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice. One ring is too scary. Oh, cream of chicken suit. Hey, cream, cream a chicken suit. This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice
Starting point is 00:24:59 from the dumbest people you know. Listen to help from a hypocrite, as part of the Mike Coutura Podcast Network available on the I-Fart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah. From three guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Mobley had five. Mitchell had five. Harden had five. So you have 16 turnovers. 15 of them came from three guys. I'm looking at Donald McIntyre. Donald McI got a guy wide open in the corner. Why the hell he tried to thread the ball right there in the middle of the court?
Starting point is 00:25:29 He can't tell. Guess what? Lead to a fast break. And then he looked to the bench. Don't look over here if I was the coach, I'd have to flip them off. Hey, hey. Yo, I'm like, bro, you got a guy wide open on the,
Starting point is 00:25:45 as a matter of fact, it was Mobley. I said, you got Mobley wide open at the three. And you try that, Pat. Hey. I don't know. I just, I don't know where they go, chat. I don't, I don't know where they go from here. because the, they broke, the Knicks broke their spirit.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I still believe, I still believe that he should have called a timeout. He should have called two timeouts to try to break their rhythm, to try to give your guy the chance to regroup. Come to tell them something. Guys, we're two minutes from home. Get us home, two minutes. And, hey, two minutes. And we snatch home court from these guys.
Starting point is 00:26:24 We can do it. We were down, we were down to Detroit. And we came back and won that series. Man, tonight was horrible, especially from behind the three. I mean, it was bad. I mean, listen, you look at New York, bro. They shot 55, 56% from the field. I mean, man, we talked about this all the time.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Okay, Joe, you can't win no damn game, man, letting no team shoot no 56% from the field, bro. Hell no. I'm telling you, listen, you look at the, you look at the San Antonio and Thunder. the series. You see how physical it is and his body's hitting the ground, almost every damn play. And that's how you got to play, bro. Like, you got to let them know you there. You know what I mean? I just fly for Cleveland. Being at home, like, damn, the series could be tied one-one, you know, coming into game three. Like, for me, I just felt that the cast will come out with just a little more sense of urgency, guys. You know what I mean? You have to. I mean, right now, hell, why would
Starting point is 00:27:30 you, if I'm the calves, what you're gonna do game for? No, you ain't trying to go back to New York for no damn five for game five. Man, please. Hey, uh, uh, Josh Hart and what do you call them? Say, man, we can get us a couple of episodes that our podcast tape by they bulljyjave.
Starting point is 00:27:47 We go, hey, oh, Joe and we get a couple of episodes because you know we ain't gonna be able to tape nothing. We get to the NBA finals. So we go ahead and knock this thing out Monday. Yeah. Knowing that, uh, uh, uh, the Spurs and OKC, they got to go and leave.
Starting point is 00:28:03 They got to go back. They got to go back to OKC so we could go ahead and knock out two of the episodes that are holding us over. Hey, they, not only can they knock out
Starting point is 00:28:13 some episodes, but, boy, they better have some security down there in New York if them boys win Monday just to be in the finals. Like the whole,
Starting point is 00:28:20 oh my goodness is crazy. You got to think, you got to think the Timble, I mean, not the Timble, the Thunder and the Spurs, they probably going to go, they probably going to go,
Starting point is 00:28:28 they probably going to go, they might go six, seven, games. So my thing is, am, bro, in the West, they're so beat up. I just seen the day that A.J. Mitchell
Starting point is 00:28:38 going to be out. So it's like the NICs are going, they're going to be well rested, you know, coming into the finals, bro. You know, I just think this is a great opportunity for the NICs, Knicks fans and NICs culture, but they still got a lot of work to do.
Starting point is 00:28:55 I don't know. I mean, Mowbly one for six from three Hardin one from seven from three Mitchell three for ten from three I mean my three best players and then I'm trying to with key They shot five of 23
Starting point is 00:29:12 from the three point line Ooh Donald Mitchell is shooting 69% from the free throw line in this series I don't know what's that about I don't either I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:29:30 And considering that he played so well in the, and he's a, look, that's not to take away from him. That's not to take away. But at some point in time, bro, you, you leaving us, you leaving a lot to be desired. Yeah. Your postseason play based on the regular season resume
Starting point is 00:29:46 that you built for yourself. You know, I'm telling you, nobody, nobody care about that, bro. You're going to have to deliver in the postseason. because all the greats have had to do it. And if you want to be considered one of those great players, you're going to have to have moments in the post season. And right now, far too many times. Now, congratulations, this is your first time getting to a conference finals.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Hey, kudos for that. But, bro, I mean, if you're going to, hey, and I guess that's what Joe and Ocho, you hear people say, man, if I'm going to lose, I'd rather not even go. Yeah. Yeah. You hear that a lot, you know, by the Super Bowl, by the NBA, about the World Series.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Man, if I'm going to lose, I'd rather not even go. Well, if you're going to give us these kind of horse poop performances, might be you go and shut it home. Yeah. You know, when I look at it, I try to sympathize. What's up?
Starting point is 00:30:44 I try to sympathize for Cleveland because they play two game sevens. And if y'all want me to be honest, they do. They look tired, bro. They look exhausted out there. Like, when you can't, when you can't put forth the
Starting point is 00:30:57 effort. You know, I know it's been a long series guys, not moving the same. You know what it is? It's like, it's like James and Donovan, they don't really look like they're having fun. And it's hard to play the game as much as we are professionals and we also know that this is our job.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Bro, you can't take the fun out of the game. I don't give a damn what sport you're playing. You still got to come out. The Knicks beat that out of. They didn't take it out. The mix beat the fun out of. Well, I'm just saying, It's very noticeable when you watch it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:31:29 They all keep these stale facial expressions. And typically, you know, when you got it going or when you're feeling good, bro, you just got a little extra bouncing your step. And I just didn't see that tonight from the calves being that they was at home for game three, bro. It's like they, I feel like they think this is over with. They threw the towel in, Uncle Joe. They threw the towel in.
Starting point is 00:31:52 I mean, you could tell about their play, how inefficient everybody is. some of the things that that they do, Donovan Mitchell, you know, being 69% from the free throw line, it's just, everything is uncharacteristic of what they actually do. The narrative that have always been surrounding James Harden and goddamn Donald Mitchell, you would have hoped this off-season, this playoff series, not just this series, but in general in the playoffs, you know, and you think about them making it to the conference finals, for them, is this a waste of season?
Starting point is 00:32:22 No, I wouldn't say, I wouldn't say it's a waste of season. But Joe, the problem that you're running into, what they're going to run into, is that at what expense do I keep this back court together? Okay, I re-signed Donovan, big buck max dollars. I resigned, let's just say for the sake of argument, and, you know, we're having a healthy discussion here. I resigned James Hart in three years, 30 million.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Bevin Moble is making 35 to 40 million. For what? Oof. They're not better than, I mean, they got past Detroit. but are they better than the Knicks? No, Boston's going to come back next year. Boston's coming back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Orlando will be better next year than they were this year. So now what? What are we doing here? They got to address that small forward position. I thought we got it covered. No, how? With weight? No, but I'm saying, hold on, addressing how?
Starting point is 00:33:28 So you want me to have, you want me to have a $30 million point guard, a $55, $60 million two guard, a $40 million power forward, a $25 million center, and how much you think I should be able to invest a small forward? I don't know, $500? You might have to go into the luxury tax. If you want to win, you say you want to win, don't you? they're going to look boy i wish i might go into luxury tax for that well listen you got to get you a small
Starting point is 00:34:00 forward or somebody who who can compliment these guys bro somebody who can make shots somebody who can you know you bro the east from the first three four teams in the eastern conference i mean i ain't even talking about the calves but i i assume detroit is going to get better like you say boston will be better. We saying the magic will be better. Hell, we've been saying that for the past couple years. But they still got a chance, man. They just, they probably a piece of, they probably a piece of two away from continuing. I don't know if you bring, I don't know what you're going to do, but you got to pay Donovan. You got to pay him max dollars. You can't let him go. But when you think about it, when you really think, when you really break it down, who's been able to compliment
Starting point is 00:34:49 at Donovan. Who's been able to compliment Hardin? When we really look, when we really look at it, I mean, get past it. Who's been able to compliment those guys? He needs the ball. Mitch needs the ball.
Starting point is 00:35:09 It's almost like, okay, okay, my turn. Okay, Joe, your turn. Okay, Ocho, your turn. That's how Mowgli, Mitch, and Harder. That's seemingly how they play. When you watch them, it don't seem to flow. Okay, I got the ball, boodoo, up to. Ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:35:25 A Donald would get the ball. Do, do, do, do. Over. Lay up. Step back three. Every mobile to get the ball. He's going to put it on the floor. Spin over one of the shoulders.
Starting point is 00:35:37 That ain't no offense. It ain't, bro. That's your turn, my turn, my turn. Yeah. They got to figure it out, though, Uncle Ocho. I mean, here, you make it to the Eastern Conference finals. Yeah. I mean, there's some good that can come out of this.
Starting point is 00:35:52 But just being letharian. no energy. I mean, damn, man. I don't know how you compete with that. I don't know how either. I don't know how either. I don't. And it was a pathetic performance today. I'd be interesting to hear what these guys are saying
Starting point is 00:36:12 in the locker room about today's performance. Yeah, we just didn't have the energy, did they have blah, blah, blah. But I ain't trying to hear all that. Man. Guess what? Y'all had the same, y'all had the same 236, our rest period that the Knicks had. Yeah. And they had to travel.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Yeah. Yeah. So we're not going to listen to y'all and talk about, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Everybody, everybody playing every other day now. Every team, Spurs, Thunder, Knicks, calves. Everybody's playing every other day. Yeah. Everybody has a responsibility to do whatever you need to do to get your body ready to perform at a very high level when you take your ass on
Starting point is 00:36:54 that court. Yeah. And right now, my guys, the guys that I'm counting on, ain't giving me a day's work. Maybe that might be exactly what you do hear from them. Obviously, you want everybody, you know, to have some type of truth serum, you know, an opportunity to tell the truth and have accountability, Joe, for the way they played, you know, not just tonight.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Hell, the first game, okay, you was fighting. They came back. Okay, game two. They ain't fight. no fight. Somebody, if you're going to throw the punch, you got to at least land one.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Yeah. Land one. And tonight, this is the biggest fight for y'all all season long. And you only even took the first punch? Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:37:41 So you mean to tell me, after game one, where you squanded away this big-ass lead, 22 points, and you don't take no accountability. You think they can take some accountability out of game three?
Starting point is 00:37:51 Yeah, no. No, that ain't happening, bro. I don't even, see that. I'm just keeping 100. I felt they should have took accountability out the game one. They didn't do it. They're going to come out and say, man, the Knicks were better than us tonight, period, point blank. They ain't, they ain't going to say, oh, man, we should have came out with more energy or we should have done this. They're not going to do that, bro. You're right? They're not going to do that. Two things can be true. You look, they squanded it, but the Knicks
Starting point is 00:38:21 had to be in position because we've seen situations where the game was right. right there for to take it, Ocho and Joe. Yeah. We say the game was right there for the taken. They just didn't take it. Okay, the game was there for the taken and the Knicks took it. Yeah. But bro, you cannot in a playoff game when you got James Hardin is a top 75 player.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Donovan Mitchell is an all NBA. Both of those guys are all NBA. Evan Moble is a defensive player of the year. You cannot be up 22 and lose that game. Yeah. Yeah. You can't, look, if, if one, both two of those, two of those three guys go down, I can say, look, guys, they had to come in, they had to play with their backup.
Starting point is 00:39:01 But with those guys on the court, and it seemed like, like, sometimes you call a time out just, sometimes players want to coach to call a time out just to reassure them that it's okay. Right. You know, like a, like a child, sometimes the child just want to hear the parents say, you okay. You okay. Get up.
Starting point is 00:39:27 And to let that go, and just to let it go, to play through it. See, Phil Jackson started that bull, giant. Let them play through it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Nah, hell, I don't trust y'all. Come here, time of it. Yeah, Phil has some Hall of Famous here. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:39:45 That's the thing. That's the thing. And then everybody tries to adopt that style without having those players. You ain't got Scotty, you ain't got Mike, you ain't got Kobe,
Starting point is 00:39:54 You ain't got Shaq. Nope. So when you don't have that, you can't coach like that. Hell, it's easy for me to sit there on the side ladder. You know? I don't know. Look, hey, I'm giving the Knicks the credit that they deserve, though. Big Body Brunson.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And he's getting what he want out there, bro. He getting what he want. Where? When and what? And that's why. I'm saying. Like, you know Donovan and James, they're not, they're not defenders. But here, at some point, that Wade, that D. Wade, that man, what are he going to do? You know what I mean? Like, so he pretty much had his way in this series. He kind of, he took with the defense game.
Starting point is 00:40:44 They trapped him a couple games. He gave it up high-siss games. But he can score the ball, bro. He can get to his spots and ain't nothing these guys can do. I mean, they, they've been at his mercy. Here, Philly been at his mercy. He had my hawks at his mercy. And, and he's, and I mean, he's doing what he wants with these calves, bro. I'm, uh, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm excited for the Knicks. But the thing is, Joe, is that when you got a Bronson and you don't have no defenders, they don't have any defenders. Right.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Mitch is not a defender. Donovan is not a defender. Wade is not a defender. Mowgli, Mowgli can defend. Jared Allen is more of a help, but they're more help defenders that all, on ball defenders. So they don't really have anybody. And it's not to say you got your hands full
Starting point is 00:41:35 trying to deal with this kid one-on-one anyway. But when you don't got any, first of all, you don't have any defenders and you ain't got nobody willing to step up and take the, and want the opportunity. There you go. There you go. Hey, hey, they quit to be running brussey got the ball.
Starting point is 00:41:52 They point over there, can't get him. They, all you do watch them. No, no, no, no, no, run your ass on. over there. He got something for you. They won't take the challenge. No, I don't want, they don't want that. Joe, oh Joe, they don't want the challenge. You can, hey.
Starting point is 00:42:10 They'll tell you all you need to know right that, Joe. Well, listen, at this point, at this point in the series, you have no choice, man. Listen, what I told y'all, bro, we are, we know all y'all all y'all plays. Y'all know all our damn plays. Amano Amano now, wheel versus will. Man, you got to take the challenge. You have a prime opportunity here.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Donovan and Jane. Donovan, this is his first conference finals. James making it back to the conference finals. Man, to be able to get, just to get a Knicks to run for their damn money. We don't want no damn sweet, man. Hey, Joe, I tell you what I saw. Don't you saw it? Old Mitch came down there.
Starting point is 00:42:48 He weighed, weighed off. He got it. He got Brunster. Brunson hit his ass up. You back on it. I said, well, damn, that was quick. He weighed a man off the first. first time, Bruce to hit his ass up.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Go ahead and get it back. Right, right, right. Hey, but listen, hey, see, my thing is, when you got a guy like that who's had it going this whole entire playouts, he's one of the best closes in this league, he's a hell of a player. He's a all-star. He's probably going to be an all-NBA player.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Yep. Bro, you, some way, somehow, you got to find a way to make that man uncomfortable, bro. And just sitting back on your heels, waiting for him to come. coming to you. Yeah. That shit ain't gonna get it. Catching him ain't it.
Starting point is 00:43:33 You know, no. You gotta pressure him. You gotta have somebody that can, like, like they do, like they do. Like, you look at the Spurs, you look at, okay, see, you look at teams that they pick up and they pound, they hound you from the time you end bound the ball. Yeah. Yeah. They tried to deny you to end bomb.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Yeah. You get in the ball crowds half court with 18 seconds. Yeah. So now, hey, I mean, excuse me, with, you know, six seconds to rent out the clock. So now you got 18 seconds. get your offense and you just cross half court. Yeah. They ain't tried to give you nothing up-tempo.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Hell, how many fast break points? Did the Cleveland have any fast break points? I'm trying to figure that had even for, they might have had the same number of France break points than you and I had, Joe. No, no, no, no. They had four. They had four more to you and I.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Wow. Wow. Wow. Hey, man. That ain't going to. get it. You got, hey, you know what, you got to have a guy. And this is just from my observation throughout this playoffs. You got to have a guy, bro, who can pick up for, and wear a guy down. You know, and I know y'all keep hearing me talk about my hawks, but you look at a Dyson
Starting point is 00:44:49 Daniels, who was a pesty, you know, with Brunson. Outside of that, hell, he went, he ran through the sixers. He ran, he running through these dudes. So it's like, you got to come with some resistance. Now what I will tell you, they make it to these finals, he's going to have plenty of guys who're going to be willing to pick his ass up for a court and make him work. Hey, depending on what team it is, it don't matter what team. It don't matter what team. Yeah, all these guys, all they got, hey, the thing is, the difference is is that the thunder got about four or five guys that'll pick your ass up and how you from start to finish.
Starting point is 00:45:25 Yeah. They go Ludo, they go Caruso, they got Case and Wallace. Jay Doug will see if he's able to go. He might not be able to go. Therefore, Izao in there at your hands. They got four to five guys that will pick you up. And when one get tired, raise your hand. We'll send another one in.
Starting point is 00:45:41 It's like a relay. Yeah. Hey, Dort might take that responsibility. He'll pass that thing off to Caruso. Caruso will pass it off to Case of Wallace. Case of Walton handed off to Isaiah Joe. And guess what? We'll come right back around.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Yeah. Yeah. They weigh you down, bro. They weigh you down. it. So it's going to be interesting. It's going to be interesting. Obviously, you know, the only got to get out of this series against the Spurs. But it's going to be interesting because outside of Brunson,
Starting point is 00:46:09 they don't really have no ball hamlets. Like Josh Hardin Bridges, these guys aren't ball hamlets. They slashes, 3&D guys. You know, they play hard. They compete at the highest level. But, man, if you make somebody else bring this ball up, we don't know what that's going to look like. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:26 I mean, oh. What did you want to? you want to say, Ocho. I can't wait. I mean, this series over, huh? And Joe? It is, bro. Listen, unless the NBA
Starting point is 00:46:36 got to pay bills. Come on now. Come on now. I don't want me to go there, Joe, I'm just telling you, now. You know, sometimes you got to get, let's extend it a little bit,
Starting point is 00:46:44 you know, get some of that sponsorship money, you know, you know, let some of that commercial money here. Oh, Joe, we can extend it if the games were close. If we got a wonderful,
Starting point is 00:46:56 how are we going to extend it again? The game, you see how they beat the hell out of people? Hell, I can't even do anything to help you. Yeah, yeah. It's just tough, bro. It's tough. But to me, it don't, I mean, James had 19, 5 and 5, 6 turnovers. Bro, they just, to me, they just ain't got enough.
Starting point is 00:47:22 When it comes to playing against the upper echelon teams, meaning the Knicks, and hell whoever going to come out of this other series, they ain't got enough to compete. That's why I was so conflicted with the Detroit because I'm like, I want to see Cleveland play the Knicks because they got a little more offensive firepower. But I kind of want Detroit because I know
Starting point is 00:47:43 at least they're going to compete and play hard. They're going to compete to the end. Yeah, yeah, they're going to compete to the end. So to have the calves in this situation, bro, and on the brink of being swept at home, I mean, damn. So, Knicks 121, Cavaliers, 108, the five Nick starters and double figures. Landry Schammett came off the bench and goes four, five from the three point line. He has 14, OG 21, Cat 13, Josh Hart 12, McHale Bridges 22, and Jalen Brunson say, you know what?
Starting point is 00:48:16 You know, I didn't score, I didn't score the ball. Y'all made me into a passer. Now, y'all went back because y'all didn't like the way I got everybody involved, so y'all went back to playing me head up y'all see what i'm capable of y'all know me you y'all haven't seen my work yeah last four last three four years y'all haven't seen my work enough oh we Picasso he exactly yeah yeah man is one funny guy he spoke on when wimby got ejected in the wolf series yeah let's take and listen to what aunt had to say guys i'm luke wilson join me each week for film never lies since retiring from the nfl i've had a lot of my mind and now

Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas,
Starting point is 00:49:22 guys. I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:49:44 And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. He is, make you have a thing, but that like 8,5 when he spread out the rim,
Starting point is 00:52:35 ain't number 10 feet. So you got to put that so high by the room. When he on defense, because that he did talk. He said, forever, I mean, so he did talk. You may go on the fucking this type. He ain't got to go. That feels like a statue.
Starting point is 00:52:50 It's so hard to beat them. when he on the flow just because of his defense. Hey, everybody was like this game. What's all right? Man, I was so happy that guy got kicked down. Hey, listen. Can you get to step in a month? Who played with me?
Starting point is 00:53:03 He looked at Noges. He got that. That one made it mad. When was mad at fuck? He took that person. I hope they suspended. It is. He opened the email that right there.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Hey, man, y'all got to go review buddy, Buddy, they're hilarious. Shout and shout out of the real. Hey, that's exactly what you said. Yeah. Exactly what you said. And if there's any player who are telling it exactly like it is, it's not going to be politically correct,
Starting point is 00:53:37 it's that goddamn amp, boy. Yeah. Yep. That's why you got to love him. Got to love him. You got to love his honesty. Because he only reiterated what we all been talking about, the whole damn playoffs.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Wimby just too damn much. Just by him being out there on defense. Look, and the fact that they are, the spurs are already got guards that sit out in the chair and really guard. Okay, let's say you do give them your best one, two, and you get by them. Hell, look what you're running into. That man letting you know, look, you got to alter all your damn shots
Starting point is 00:54:09 that you normally just, you got to throw that thing way old damn gold now. That's why, look, when we talk about Knows Reed, I said, damn, I seen Knows, I seen Nile through a running damn hook. I ain't never seen that man's getting running. I ain't never seen that man's shit a damn running hook. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:28 He's nine foot tall. He's eight foot tall. No, he's probably about nine and a half feet tall. When he's standing up, up on the rim, and don't let him jump. Yeah. You can't see it. You can't even see the rim.
Starting point is 00:54:41 You have a couple of floaters and stuff like that, but you're not anticipating. Because think about it, you go from a regular guy playing defense, now all of a sudden his ass back there. Yeah, yeah. The shot I just shot the previous time down the court, I can't shoot that same shot now because you're big ass in here.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Right, right. And then Joe, you talking about his defense. Now imagine him giving you 25, 30, 35, 40. With his defense and giving you 40. Then listen, while I was watching the game yesterday, because, you know, Wimby handled a ball a lot. hell, if he out there on the perimeter handling, the other guys are smalls. They're not going to be in the paint.
Starting point is 00:55:23 They had five guys around the perimeter. And Wimby was at the top handling that thing, like going into his bag. Yeah. That's rare. You never, you never see that, bro. It's always at least one guy inside the three. They had five guys outside of three. That's what's making, that's what makes the spirit so much danger.
Starting point is 00:55:43 I mean, hell, we all know. You know, Wimby a cheat cold, bro. But I think they need to, I think they need to start him down lower, Joe. because he said, I got to make my guys better. How can you make the guys better? You ain't got nobody that can post up, but you?
Starting point is 00:55:55 Right. Yeah. I mean, that's not Castle's game. That's not Harper's game. That's not Bissell. That's not Champany's game. So in other words, all y'all got,
Starting point is 00:56:05 they only really got one guy that can post. That's Winby. Yeah. I'm not run no damn place for Luke Connett. Nah. I think. Hornet, hornet, nothing. No.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Yeah. Hey, hey. I think the physicality that Hardinstein is bringing ever since game one, keeping a body on and being physical with him. You know, Wimby is starting to try to offset
Starting point is 00:56:29 by taking him out in the deep waters. You know what I mean? Like, okay, you think you want to play rough inside here? But when I bring your ass out here in the deep water and drown you, there I want to see what you do. You know, now he's out there playing tween the leg
Starting point is 00:56:43 because Hardinstein can't guard that out of the Archeo. Right. You know, now the only thing Hartstein can do is hope that he missed. But if he's making them shots, that's what takes his game to a whole other level. I think the resistance or the physicality that the thumb not bringing, that Hardinstein is bringing, it's starting to kind of wear on him a little bit. That's why he's been out there on the perimeter so damn much.
Starting point is 00:57:04 He's talking about he got to make his guys better. You're right. He's going to have to establish position in the mid-posts, low-posts to where they have to double. Right. And so now I can get guys slashing and dive into the basket. Ain't nobody, man, you out past a three-point line. Ain't nobody diving to no damn basket. You way out there and get them to the ball.
Starting point is 00:57:24 You got to be on the block and have somebody when the double team come. Now you get somebody to dive to the basket. Now you got somebody, okay, you get the ball at the nail, and now you got somebody in the dunker spot. Yeah, yeah. But other than that, no, if all five guys at the three-point line, Joe, I ain't really worried about it. No, sir.
Starting point is 00:57:43 No, sir. I need somebody to put, you need somebody because what, okay-Z? okay C gonna put pressure on that realm. Yeah. She's going to attack edges. He's looking to get on the edge. And if you don't settle, if you don't build a wall, he's going, hey, you better grill it because, hey, he's slippery.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Oh, yeah. Get on an edge. And he's going to, next thing you know, he's going to throw his body. Like, come on, man, that wasn't a foul. What damn it looked like a file. Hey, look. Hey, you can't tell the difference in real time either, Joe. What's that?
Starting point is 00:58:15 I mean, I mean, you know, the. the foul bait, sometimes, you know, in full time and real time, as fast as those players are playing, I think people watching from home, you really don't understand how fast some boys moving. When you watch it from home, you know, they slow it down on TV copy, and you can see the file clear as day. But when they're moving fast as hell, it's, yeah. It's different. Yeah, hey, and I think Wimby, yeah, he has to establish, you know, somewhere down in the low,
Starting point is 00:58:43 close, or the block area and kind of spray out to these guys. so y'all can get second chance opportunities. They don't get no second chance opportunities with him standing his ass out there at the three or playing on the perimeter. You know, because if he's the biggest guy and he got the best handle, he, you know, going into his bag,
Starting point is 00:58:58 once that shot go up, hell, if he don't make it, they don't get no second chance points. You know what I mean? We're off to the races. Because think about it, Joe, plus also, when he's so far out, somebody shoot a shot, they got his, they put a body on him.
Starting point is 00:59:13 He can't get the ball. Yeah, yeah. So the further you're, away from the basket the hard it is for the rebound. Yeah. And he's going to have to, hey, he's going to have to sit that post up.
Starting point is 00:59:27 He's going to have to sit it much closer to the basket, Joe. If I'm okay, too. And guys are going to have to put pressure on the rim. Hey, okay. And the number one thing they need to do, they got to stop turning the damn ball over, Joe.
Starting point is 00:59:43 You ain't got no chance. You're not even coming close. to beating them. You dodged the bullet in game one. You're like, because Castle had what, 9, 10 turnovers in game one. And you won the game.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Did you actually think that's a recipe? He had, oh my bad, he had 11 in game one. Joe, do you really think that is a recipe to beat the thunder? You got so lucky. Winby walked in and hit a Steph Curry shot like he did.
Starting point is 01:00:15 You remember Step Curry walked in there? and he hit that shot and he's going crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He hit one of those shots and it took a lot out of him. But if you think you're going to turn the ball over 18, 20 plus times,
Starting point is 01:00:32 and be okay, see you not because they're going to get some easy buckets on your ass. They thrive. They thrive off them turnovers. Hey, Uncle Joe, another thing too, right? Are you saying, when we need to establish down there in the post? You know that double going to come fast. That's what I won't. Hey, now the onus is on everybody else.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Even with that slashing, maybe they don't get that up easy. You're going to have to be able to hit them shots from outside, too. Yes. Yes. We got to be efficient. I think if you okay, see, you don't double him right away. I wouldn't double him right away. I'm making, he had to make a cup on me,
Starting point is 01:01:09 okay, Ocho, for me to send a double team. Okay, damn, if he'd have made two, three shots, all right, we won't really want him to get him rolling too good. Only catch. Soon as he catch it, let's bring the double. But for the initial, they do a great job, but just physicality, bro, just keeping him off the block. You know, like when BP was on here the other day,
Starting point is 01:01:30 we talk about doing your work early. As soon as he come across half court, if he come inside this three-point line, it's resistance the whole time. So by the time he catch the ball, hell, we didn't took some of his damn legs. He ain't got too much energy and effort to give. Just keeping him 100. You know what I mean? And that's, I think, well, OKC,
Starting point is 01:01:46 that's the game playing. Keep a body on his ass at all time. They are. That's why he only had four rebounds. Now, plus, he ain't, he don't really chase no rebounds. Because if you think about it, there have been times he had the rebound right there
Starting point is 01:01:59 and the guard come take it right out of his hands. He's like, go ahead and get it. I'm like, man, look here, if y'all see me down here, don't y'all come down here and get to golf. Hey, I'm for real. That's how Biggs be, though. Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:10 Hey, hey, look, you'll have Biggs tell you, they'll tell you doing a timeout or a half time out again. Hey, man, stay your old. ass him down here messing my rebounds now. You know, hey, them big, don't be playing about their rebound, but you're right. Wimby ain't got that, like, stinginess to him,
Starting point is 01:02:24 that greediness to him on the defense end of where he want to grab every rebound. That will come, though. That will come. As long as he keep, the longer he keeps playing and he starts to understand, you know, he wants to be an MVP. He's always going to be in the conversation. So to be able to, yeah, to be able
Starting point is 01:02:40 to average 25 plus points to hell, double figures and rebound. You're always, he's going to lead the league in blocks for the next five, seven damn years. So he'll definitely have an opportunity to be an MVP conversation every year. And I think that would definitely be the difference. I also think the thing is, Joe,
Starting point is 01:03:00 the Spurs second unit is going to have to do a better job of keeping the OKC second unit undercontained. They have to do a better job. They can't let Jay Will get that. They can't let McCain get that. They can't let Caruso do. They cannot. You can't get...
