Ochoa, let's take a listen to what Mike T had to say. All right. He's a free agent.
Starting point is 00:04:21 As you guys know, he came to visit last Friday. We had a really productive day. He's been in this thing a long time. He's been in this thing a long time. I've been in this thing a long time. But it's no substitute for, you know, intimacy and spending time together and getting to know one another in a non-competitive environment.
Starting point is 00:04:36 And so that was really good. But I don't have any new updates in terms of where the process is. We'll see where it leads us. No, certainly isn't, or isn't. It's a nice to ask when we're in this situation. I'm really comfortable
Starting point is 00:04:48 with being unsettled this time of year, to be quite honest with you. It's about talent acquisition. We got two main means of acquiring talent, free agency and the draft. We multitask. We do both. Those needs
Starting point is 00:05:04 that we fulfill in free agency, we do so there, and when we don needs that we fulfill in free agency we do so there and when we don't we fulfill it in the draft I just learned over the years that this time of year although day to day can be somewhat uncomfortable it is a process hey
Starting point is 00:05:18 sound like a politician don't he you see how he's sweating he's like we ain't got no quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. Everything he said, it sounds good. It sounds beautiful. But in order to compete in this league,
Starting point is 00:05:36 regardless of what team you are, it's 32 of them, you need a quarterback. Absolutely. There's a reason why they make and command the salary that they do. There's nothing you can do without a quarterback. There's a reason why they make and command the salary that they do. There's nothing you can do without a quarterback. And ever since Ben Roethlisberger's been gone, even on the tail end of his career, where things
Starting point is 00:05:53 weren't really that good. Being down the vine. Yeah. There was signs that there was slippage and they didn't want to see it. Right. Well, no.
Starting point is 00:06:07 I think they saw it, but they didn't want to upset him, similar to how they upset Aaron Rodgers, similar to how they upset Brett Favre. Guess what? They didn't want to do that. In the process of upsetting him, guess what you had? You had another 10 years or 12 years of prosperity being able to be competitive. Right. The same thing with Aaron Rodgers. You got Jordan Love, and then boom. And being able to be competitive. The same thing with Aaron Rodgers. You got Jordan
Starting point is 00:06:26 Love and then boom. And you ain't gonna be competitive. You've got to, especially when you see the slippage. Now, I don't agree with what Coach Belichick did with Tom Brady. That's a totally different incident. Because Tom Brady was still going to Super Bowl. They were still playing in the L.T. Championship game.
Starting point is 00:06:41 But in this situation, it's totally different. And Mike Thomas says he's comfortable with Mason Rudolph being the team's starting quarterback next season.
Starting point is 00:06:52 That's why we brought him back. I'm comfortable with that. We've been there before. He's very capable. If you... Think about what he said. What did he say, Ocho? We brought him back.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Why the hell you let him go? Yeah. Listen. He's the head coach. You did he say, Ocho? We brought him back. Why the hell you let him go? Yeah. Listen, he's a head coach. You got to say all the right things. You have to say all the right things. Remember, we just talked about it. You like when people tell you the truth. Now, this man, hold on.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Hold on. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What did Ocho say last night? You ain't even let me finish. I was just getting ready to give you that example of what Mr. Hadlam just said in telling the truth, saying
Starting point is 00:07:30 that we missed. And now we got, on the next hand, we got Mike Tomlin giving us a lie. Don't tell me the beautiful lie. Tell me the truth. We don't have a quarterback right now. We don't. I shouldn't be unsettled. You't have a quarterback right now. We don't.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I shouldn't be unsettled. You shouldn't be comfortable right now. Because you haven't had a quarterback in a while. And in order to compete in the AFC North, and to get back to the historic run that the Steelers are known for, winning championships, you need a goddamn quarterback. That's it. That's why I say You sound like a politician What do politicians do most
Starting point is 00:08:09 The best What are they best at Lying to the people Getting you to believe In what they're saying Knowing it's not the truth And I'm a fan of the Steelers Cause I love them
Starting point is 00:08:21 The Steelers fans love me And I love the playoffs But you need a quarterback in order to compete. That's it. Man, he sweat. Mike Thomas sweat like somebody on the Maura Poe show. You are the father. Got him by the dog.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Look. I get it. look I get it but if Mason Rudolph was the guy they would have never let him left the building name a quarterback that they left lead the building and he's supposed to be the guy he's capable
Starting point is 00:08:58 why they do that though Joe you know what this tells you this tells you how hard it is to come by they do that at Ocho. And you know what this tells you? Do you know what this tells you? This tells you how hard it is to come by good quarterbacks. Good. So, let me ask you. Good.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Wait, Rex Grossman got the Bears to the Super Bowl. Yeah. We just need somebody good. Yeah, I don't think you can do that now. Don't turn the ball over and make the play.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Just defensively. They'll make the... I don't think you can do that now. Don't turn the buckle over and make the play. Just defensively. They'll make done. I don't think that... We talk about the Steelers, what is the identity for the Steelers? They're what? Defense. I'm not saying they're the steel goddamn curtain, but they're known for their defense. If you don't have a
Starting point is 00:09:39 quarterback and no defense to compete week in and week out, your defense has to play up the par. But I'm just trying to... Ain't no quarterback walking through that room, your defense has to play up the par. But I'm just trying to... Ain't no quarterback walking through that room right now that's going to change the franchise. Ain't no Joe Burrow, ain't no Lamar Jackson. You have a 41, 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers that might be your quarterback
Starting point is 00:09:55 and you don't know what you're going to get from him week to week. You don't even know if he's going to show up to minicamp. He said good quarterbacks. What good quarterbacks you know teams let walk out? I mean, you let Russ lead the building, you let Justin Fields lead the building,
Starting point is 00:10:13 for Mason Ruda? Justin Fields, Russ, are no longer there. And you said the best option for the Steelers moving forward was Mason Rudolph? Absolutely not. That's why I say
Starting point is 00:10:30 you're lying like a politician. You're lying like the president. They promise you everything. And when it's time to show up and get it done, it's crickets. Now you're putting all that pressure on Mason Rudolph
Starting point is 00:10:41 and Aaron Rodgers doesn't come. Oh, you stuck. Not only are you stuck, now you put the onus on Mason Rudolph to back up everything you said. Man, ain't nobody holding Mike Tomlin to that because everybody done saw... We done saw a large enough sample
Starting point is 00:10:57 size for Mason Rudolph. We know what he is. Right. We know what he is. All of a sudden, he ain't finna turn into no... He ain't finna have no season like uh anybody i shouldn't say he's not because hell nobody thought sam donald was gonna have the season that he had so oh who didn't who man the pope man listen i'm listen the pope man listen I'm not listen the pope rest his soul could have been the quarterback
Starting point is 00:11:27 for the Minnesota Vikings and did what Sam Darnold did last year with Jordan Addison and Harkison and God damn Justin
Starting point is 00:11:33 yeah I would have said that had I not seen Sam Darnold had I not seen Sam Darnold I might have believed you
Starting point is 00:11:41 I tell you what quarterback is only good as a supporting cad I might have believed you. Oh, we talking about obviously. I tell you what, quarterback is only good if he's an important cat. Huh? It takes a village. And when a village is good, it can hide a lot of your weaknesses. True.
Starting point is 00:12:03 But guess what? Last two games of the season, he reverted back. Those same guys to throw to. How he look? Expectations change. Yo, Cho, when you ain't got no expectations, it's kind of like, hey, you start seeing this girl, she starts seeing this guy, and y'all ain't got no expectation.
Starting point is 00:12:23 You doing you, you doing, she doing her. Now all of a sudden y'all come together, and now you have expectations. Oh. Where you being at? See, if you ain't got no expectations, don't nobody ask where you being at. You call it, oh, it is what it is, hey.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Yeah. Hey. We call it complications. Let me say it I'm one of them guys You know love is like an eclair Once it goes cold It can't be reheated Man wait a
Starting point is 00:12:59 Man I just Well you think you slick what go on go ahead give that to me again I'm gonna use
Starting point is 00:13:12 I'm gonna use a hotel pen and paper you know what it is love is like an eclair once it goes cold it can't be reheated woo woo
Starting point is 00:13:20 oh that's a good one that's a good one. That's a good one. There's are. Hey, I got it. I got it. Here's the thing. Hold your. See if it's like this here.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I mean, even like this. So I'm going to sleep in through that crack. But just imagine. And the separation gets this gets further and further apart. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I'm just saying, don't you?
Starting point is 00:13:55 I'm just saying. Listen, you ain't got to tell me. I done had it. You know, we take a break, okay? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:01 I'm not responsible for whatever happens on this break yes sir yes sir that's right that's why i don't take breaks man don't try i had one i was like hold on took a break you know i'm doing me it's doing you right talk to me now come on now she got mad because i was saying i was on, we're not together. But I thought you was going to. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So you thought I was going to wait while you do you? Wait, wait, wait what? Wait who? Shit. Hey, wait. Hey. Taxi. I was flagging them down.
Starting point is 00:14:42 I ain't waiting on nothing. Hey, I called Uber. I called Uber and catch a ride. That's how quick I was trying to get to where I was going, them down. I ain't waiting on nothing. Hey, I called Uber and catch a ride. That's how quick I was trying to get to where I was going, Ochoa. You ain't faster than me. Huh? Wait for who? Wait for what?
Starting point is 00:14:59 You know how long we've been in the game, huh? I'm out the game. Oh, I'm out the game? I'm out the game. Oh, I'm out the game too? I'm out with you. I don't know what you're waiting for. Man, you laughing, eh? I ain't got time to play. What did I tell you about that mountain?
Starting point is 00:15:14 20s? Wasted them. 30s? Wasted them. 40s? Wait. Boy, I'm about to go on the other side of the mountain. You think I'm finna play?
Starting point is 00:15:23 Well, what I told you about choosing who choose you. You're right about that now. Come on now. I ain't got time to play. What I told you, 2026, I'm going to be what? Married. Man, you'll be a fool if you think I'm not. You see what happened to everybody else that has gotten married?
Starting point is 00:15:41 Do you see the blessings that have been bestowed upon these individuals that are getting married? I bet you do that then? I see what happened to LeBron and Kobe Redfield. He got married. Jordan got married. Josh. Let me go to, what's them dating sites? What's them dating sites?
Starting point is 00:16:03 You don't need no dating sites. You don't need no dating sites. You don't need no dating sites. You see? Huh? Hey, you see, you see, I done put my band back on
Starting point is 00:16:11 and I'm practicing. Oh, you're practicing? I'm practicing. I'm practicing. I'm practicing. I'm thinking about popping a, you know, popping a question maybe about,
Starting point is 00:16:22 maybe in the summertime, in the summertime. In the summertime. The only question I'm asking is how much y'all paying me? That's the only question I'm asking. I don't know what you're talking about. No, no. Wait, who gonna pay you?
Starting point is 00:16:37 I don't know. I'm gonna get me a job. Hell, I gotta get some jobs like you. Oh, yeah, I got 50 lemma. Also, Tyreek Hill and Miami Dolphins seemingly patched things up after a rough end to the season, but he posted some cryptic emojis in
Starting point is 00:16:51 response to trade speculation. Reek posted a handful of cryptic posts responding to trade speculation. Peace sign. Why doesn't he just officially ask for trade you think tyreek is happy in miami i mean i i would think so i think he's happy with the weather i think he's happy with no taxes i don't think he's quite happy with his quarterback situation yeah man that that's a tough one that's a tough one because didn't tyreek just leave in the NFL, what, not just what, two years ago? Yeah, not just past year, but years before he led the league in receiving.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Yeah, with the same quarterback, right? Yes. Same quarterback, so it shouldn't be an issue. It shouldn't be an issue. And what's been the issue with the quarterback? Oh, he's been injured. Oh, okay, okay. I see what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:17:46 That's tough. That's tough. I'm not sure how Tyreek is feeling I've talked to him on numerous occasions But I like to stay away from stuff like that Especially seeing dudes In the offseason I know they don't want to talk about no football They got to do it all the goddamn time So
Starting point is 00:18:02 I think for me The situation is good. I would love to be in Miami. I would love to be in Miami and hope that Tua can stay upright, you know, this upcoming year. He can stay healthy. And we know what Tua can do with Tyreek and Waddle if he's upright and healthy.
Starting point is 00:18:25 And that's been the main issue. It's hard, Ocho, when the quarterback is injured frequently and getting timing with a quarterback. You got one week. So I got three weeks with Tyreek. I got three weeks with Tua. Then I got a week, maybe two weeks with another guy. Then I got seven weeks with Tua.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Then I got another two, three weeks. Ocho, i got seven weeks with tour then i got another two three weeks oh so it's hard you know it's hard to build chemistry with you know think about what it took for you to get on the same page with carson carson yeah i don't care you're not gonna get on that same page because you and carson y'all there was a look that you could give carson the carson and we and we and we knew what to do we know what to do. We know what to do. Yeah. That came from years and years. Years, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Practice, being in the game. He understand that you run certain route, the way you, oh, he about to break. I'm going to throw it. But I know he about to break.
Starting point is 00:19:19 I know he about to snap this off. Oh, oh, I see it. He about to come, he about to put that foot in the dirt. He about to come right back to me. There's a certain thing and you know, oh, he about to throw this. Oh, this cover. Oh, oh, I see it. He about to come, he about to put that foot in the dirt. He about to come right back to me. There's a certain thing,
Starting point is 00:19:26 and you know, oh, he finna throw this ball. Oh, this coming? Oh yeah, I'm getting this one. You already,
Starting point is 00:19:31 oh, I'm getting this one. I don't care what it was called. I'm getting this ball. I'm getting this ball. Oh, he throwing to me. Made for This Mountain

We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream
Starting point is 00:21:02 gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. Starting point is 00:22:00 Muhammad Ali was never afraid to express himself loudly and boldly and stays true to form in Ali and Me, an eight-part Audible original. Guided by his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction. Those convictions never wavered. Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's
Starting point is 00:22:38 extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common, Will Smith, and Bob Costas. It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime. Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran-Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. During the period on Built for More podcast, Brock Purdy said he thought fatigue played a big role in the 49ers drop to 6-11 last season. Last year, man, guys were tired. That season is no joke. And when you go from July to training camp and everything and all the way to the end of February, and then you really get five weeks off,
Starting point is 00:24:31 so until you've got the report back, and then you're going at it again, guys are tired. They're still beat up. They're bodies. Is that a valid excuse, though, Joe? Nah, they weren't tired. They weren't tired they weren't tired but I can tell you
Starting point is 00:24:50 why their record was what it was because of injuries I can tell you that that's why it looked the way it did last year it had nothing to do with being tired well Chiefs will be exhausted I don't even know how to Chiefs holding up
Starting point is 00:25:04 because they've been in five Super Bowls he'll be exhausted. I don't even know how to cheat. I don't even know how to cheat holding up. Because they've been in five Super Bowls in the last six years. They've gone to the NFC Championship game every year. Every year. So, if y'all are tired from that, I don't even know how to cheat holding up, Ojo.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I don't. Honestly, I don't. I mean, I mean I understand what Brock is saying but no everybody's tired at that point especially depending on how far
Starting point is 00:25:31 you make it into the postseason everybody's tired everybody's injured I don't like Ocho let's just say for the sake of argument
Starting point is 00:25:43 you and I we're arguing Uh huh Why would you even say that? What? Do guys understand How that When they say things
Starting point is 00:25:54 That seems like You're making excuses Oh Do they understand How people look at it Like you're making excuses Right But also
Starting point is 00:26:03 See this is what I talked about too also on you want players telling the truth now remember i said that yes i wish players would be more honest on how they truly feel instead of always being goddamn politically correct now we're getting players that are telling the truth on how they truly feel and we're chastising them for it for not being robots and being politically correct so you like mcmillan saying that he don't like watching film and he doesn't study oh no no no no no i know that's what you just said you said you won't play of telling the truth yeah you can't have it both ways you just said you like players telling the truth mcmillan told the truth he doesn't like studying film he doesn't watch film alone right because he watches it as a group at practice.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Right. So you okay with that? No, I'm not. Why not? He told the truth. You asked me a question. I answered the question. I want people to be a little bit more honest sometimes.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Okay, he was honest. But you're not okay with that honesty? I ain't like that honesty. No, I ain't like that one. Oh, Lord. You got to pick and choose what you're saying, man. That's my pocho. You just made my point.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Pick and choose. In this situation, why would you make an excuse? Hey, it didn't work. We didn't play our best football. That's on me. I've got to play better. Guys around me got to play better. Even when guys get injured, we lost some key players.
Starting point is 00:27:26 But guys that come in, we're plenty good enough with the guys that we had to replace. Even if you don't believe that. Because there ain't no making up for Christian McCaffrey. You ain't got nobody. That guy's an offensive player of the year. Yeah. He was in the MVP discussion. See?
Starting point is 00:27:40 Hey, big trick. But hey, guys have to come in and do their job when the starters go down. That's why you're in that position. Bro, don't give me that, we were tired. What the hell you think Kansas City was? Kansas City had gone, they went back-to-back Super Bowls and went to the third Super Bowl. So they should have been exhausted.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Yeah. And remember, Ocho, the year before they went to the championship game and the year before that they went to the Super Bowl. And you know what though? Man, I don't know. Just everybody sound like some damn robots.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Everybody would sound like some robots I mean that's That's basically what the NFL Sounds like in general You listen to quarterbacks talk You listen to certain players talk Everything is The same It's the same thing
Starting point is 00:28:36 Same story Same answer Same Same everything So you like the excuse making Nah I didn't Nah I'm just saying I'm just saying
Starting point is 00:28:44 So what was that So tell me what that was Oh that was the excuse about being tired oh yeah i don't get to i don't listen no that's what he said so you okay with the excuse making well that's that's how he felt i didn't mean i'm just damn he's telling the truth on how he felt okay i felt we went 6 11 or whatever it may have been because we were tired. Well, to me, based on what I saw, it had nothing to do with me being tired. I saw half your goddamn team depleted. IU, out.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Trent Williams, out. Christian McCaffrey, out. Okay, there you go. Three goddamn stars out. That's why you're at 6-11. I can tell you that I don't I just don't get these guys man Everything
Starting point is 00:29:34 Everything Shouldn't You don't have to say everything Yeah Hey Sometimes you gotta be real up man Oh my goodness Hey Sometimes you got to be real up, man. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Hey, Brock said we was tired. Oh. Hey, listen. I used to go to school, man. You want to know what tired is, huh? I used to walk 12 miles uphill both ways to go to school. Now I was tired. Somebody was tired, man.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Shoot. But football is recreation. That's fun. May I just look there? There are ways that you can say things. And to get your point across. And. With these guys now. But look, see, I can tell the people in the chat, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:30:34 that's never been a part of a team, because they want to say anything, because they don't care. Because at the end of the day, when you're a part of a team, you just can't say anything. You just can't do anything, because it's for the betterment of the team. When you're an individual of a team, you just can't say anything. Okay. You just can't do anything. Right. Because it's for the betterment of the team. When you're an individual, now Serena, we want to say she was tired. Okay, that's Serena.
Starting point is 00:30:50 She ain't got nobody to fill in for. Right. Tiger Woods wanted to say he was tired. Well, that's fine. But when you are a part of a team, you understand. Right. And a lot of times, people have never been a part of a team or a part of a winning team. There's a difference between the two.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Yeah. Go back and difference between the two. Yeah. Go back and study my track record. Talk to him, huh? I know. Curve Asian Doll. I know that's why I'm single. I'm okay with being single. It seems like you're not okay with being single.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Hold on. What was that name? Hold on. It seemed like Elcho. You know what it seemed like? Yeah. It seemed like everybody got a not okay with being single. Hold on. What was that name? Hold on. It seems like Elcho. You know what it seems like? It seems like everybody got a problem with me being single but me. And who said I was single? You got you somebody?
Starting point is 00:31:35 I don't remember saying anything. Hold on. You got you somebody and ain't tell nobody? I've never told anybody anything. I don't say yay or nay. Okay. I just let people talk. Oh, let me know. It's better that way. Because I like when people
Starting point is 00:31:52 say, well, I thought this was this. Okay. Right. Man, I ain't know you. I didn't know I was supposed to make an announcement. I just try to figure out, so, was I supposed to tell people to make an announcement? I mean, I would. Listen, I've been trying to hook you what I'm supposed to tell people. I mean, I would.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Listen, I've been trying to hook you up with somebody for damn near three years now. I ain't got no flat tire while you're trying to hook me up. You a tow truck? Yeah. Hey, boy, hey. Hey, you saw what I sent you earlier today? I saw that. Man, boy, hey. Hey, you saw what I sent you earlier today?
Starting point is 00:32:26 I saw that. Man, boy, listen. You know, I don't go nowhere. But I told you 2020. I told you 2025. I'm not playing. I'm going out. I'm stepping out.
Starting point is 00:32:36 You need to get back. You need to get. You need to get back. You need to get your ass back inside. Why? What happened? You just need to be inside. No, we still got
Starting point is 00:32:46 how many more months we got before 2025 is up nine so we got nine more months of me being outside and nine more months
Starting point is 00:32:53 of me putting on clothes but listen let me finish go ahead I went out Saturday I went to a little place a nice little lounge
Starting point is 00:33:02 you know I don't really go nowhere so I'm excited I'm like a little kid a a nice little lounge. You know, I don't really go nowhere, so I'm excited. I'm like, yeah, a little lounge in Broward called Seashore. It was very nice.
Starting point is 00:33:12 You know, they play some good music, good oldies too. Good oldies, 80s, 90s. I like that. Hey, they play Men Condition.
Starting point is 00:33:18 I ain't heard this song from Men Condition since 1994. Please tell me, remember the song So Fine. So Fine. Oh, I was so rude, I told the DJ
Starting point is 00:33:31 I had him running back three times. Damn. I had him running back three times. I ain't heard it in so long, and it sounded so good. Then the day, the day I went to something in Broward called bb sundays oh they was in there cutting up you hear me what yeah oh yeah they was in there
Starting point is 00:33:52 huh you need me to come down there make a guest appearance man they told me man they though they told me to ask you slim cat i know you're gonna see this oh he told me to ask you, Slimcat, I know you're going to see this. He told me, man, come on down here. Because what I sent you is like all over. It should look just like that. Oh, so I'm trying to be good. Oh, so I'm just trying to, I'm trying to look. Hey, you got to, hey,
Starting point is 00:34:18 you got to come to Miami. Let the people in Miami see you. Yeah, it's okay. You ain't got to. Come on. Hey, I could take you to tootsies you hear me no i could take i don't want to go no place like that well i could say okay let me take you to booby trap well what are you gonna cut it by a booty trap no booby trap booty yeah that's where you get it from you go to booby trap you get the booty nah nah i'm done with you man man the jets g we believe justin is the starter we believe in justin we believe we can win with
Starting point is 00:34:57 justin we're excited about justin's potential fields 26 will follow aaron rogers who went 6 and 12 in two years as the starter. Fields went 4-2 in his six starts last season, throwing five touchdowns within interception. The Jets signed Fields to a two-year deal, hoping he can prove their long-term starter. You like with the GM? You like the GM showing confidence? I love that he came out and said this. Justin has had to deal with enough.
Starting point is 00:35:25 He had to deal with enough when he was in Chicago. Them letting him go. Not believing in him. Him going to the Steelers. Him getting the job because Russell got injured. Right. Then when Russell gets back, the job is taken away from him. So to hear the GM over the Jets say,
Starting point is 00:35:46 you are our starter, and now you have nothing to worry about. You don't have to look over your shoulder, so you can just go play football. Agree. The main thing is the main thing now. The ball is in your court. You have a chance to solidify yourself
Starting point is 00:36:01 as a starting quarterback for the New York Jets based on your play and if it doesn't work out the way it should it's nobody else's fault except your own yeah I don't know who the OC is
Starting point is 00:36:15 Ocho I think the thing is people looking at the Jets like look at the team look at the players that have left the Jets and the success they've had look at Geno
Starting point is 00:36:23 look at Sam Darnold. Now, the difference is, look at what Geno was throwing to in Seattle. Right. Look at what Sam Darnold was throwing to. Now, are y'all going to give Justin Fields those type of weapons? I mean, they need one more if they want to add one. Because you already have one in Garrett Wilson who was able to win. He had a hell of a, hell of a goddamn rookie season,
Starting point is 00:36:45 and things kind of tapered off after that. But we know what he can do if you're able to give him the ball and you put him in positions to make some of the plays that other players are getting the opportunities to make around the league. You know what you can do with that. So we had the draft coming up. I mean, I think all offseason acquisitions or moves have been made to date so far.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Brock Purdy says he's about 40% of the time he's not able to see his intended target on throws downfield due to the size of the lineman in front of him. He talked about how important it is knowing coverage's scheme and knowing where his receivers are supposed to be. How common is this? Is this typical for quarterbacks who aren't very tall? Yeah. Yeah. All the time. Huh? all the time drew breeze baby made russell wilson russell wilson um you have to throw between the linemen you have to find through that's what they call it throwing lanes yeah and you got it and you have to anticipate as well yes i mean it's been remember remember Doug Flutie, when Doug Flutie played.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Yes. Well, I'm trying to, what do you think, what do you think Kyler Murray sees? Man, what,
Starting point is 00:37:53 that's, I couldn't, I couldn't think of it. Kyler Murray. Hell, half the time, he probably looking at his line with an ass.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Who else is short, huh? Who else? I know, everybody. Kyler, uh, Kyler, uh, Drew was short, Baker Mayfield is short who else I know everybody Kyler Drew was short Baker Mayfield is short
Starting point is 00:38:09 short Russell Wilson yeah I said Russ trying to think who else Tua oh yeah Tua is not
Starting point is 00:38:20 not that tall Bryce Young okay Bryce Bryce is short yeah Bryce Bryce is in that boat too Not that tall. Uh-uh. Bryce Young? Okay, Bryce is short. Yeah, Bryce is in that boat too. But you know what, Ocho? I'd have said that if I got 50 million. Yeah, I wouldn't have said it before.
Starting point is 00:38:37 I ain't been nothing. But anyway, listen. The fact that he did say it, he's still in a good position anyway because he's already put in the small sample size of work. Well, he's going to get his money anyway regardless. But the put in the small sample size of work well he don't get his money anyway regardless but the fact that you've been able to do what you've done even though you couldn't see 40% of the
Starting point is 00:38:52 time I mean it can work in your favor too yeah yeah I mean look Mike Vick wasn't the tallest Johnny Manziel wasn't tall no not at all not at all it's how tall is hertz it's not like hertz six five wait he's probably average height probably six one yeah jay jay got jay got a little height one though how tall is dad jay daniels jayton tall he about six three yeah but ocho but he's six one his offensive line is six six at Jayden Daniels. Jayden tall. He about 6'3". Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:25 But Ocho, but he's 6'1". His offensive line is 6'6". Yeah. Who can see it over? Yeah, you right. But you know, once you drop back... Everybody gonna be Josh Allen.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Yeah. Everybody gonna be... You gotta think, also in today's game, especially with the offense that we're seeing now, most of the time, quarterback's in the gun. Yeah, for sure. most of the time, quarterback's in the gun.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Yeah, for sure. Most of the time, quarterback's in the gun. So you're already at an advantage if you are a short quarterback anyway. Then that all comes down to you processing and having anticipatory skills and when to get the ball out and hoping your receivers get open. Ali was never afraid to express himself loudly and boldly and stays true to form in Ali and Me, an eight-part Audible original. Guided by his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction, those convictions never wavered.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common, Will Smith, and Bob Costas. It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity.
Starting point is 00:43:21 There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime. Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran-Contra,
Starting point is 00:43:59 you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Russell Wilson is coming to the Giants with the expectation that he'll be the starting quarterback. In his presser, Ocho, he said, yeah, I expect to be the starter to come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day. I think this team is really looking for somebody
Starting point is 00:44:48 to lead them every way. Is this a match made in heaven for the Giants, Ocho? I mean, listen, anywhere. Remember now, Ocho, before you go. Come on. They signed, they gave Jameis two years, eight million. Russ basically is a one-year deal
Starting point is 00:45:04 for 10 and a half million. That's guaranteed. He can make up to 21 million, but he got to win like what? He gets X amount of dollars per win or something like that. But anyway, do you see them taking a quarterback?
Starting point is 00:45:18 With the third? Yeah. I think the third pick. Yeah. Listen, I don't care if they had 30. Third. Go ahead, Ocho. Listen, I don't care if they had 37 quarterbacks on their roster right now.
Starting point is 00:45:33 They're taking a quarterback come draft time because there's still no quarterback of the future. Now, whoever they draft at quarterback, they have somebody they can learn from and learn behind for a year before they're put into that offense. And depending on how the play from whoever starts, whether it's DeVito, whether it's James Winston, whether it's Russell Wilson.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Man, DeVito, stop. DeVito ain't starting. You know damn well DeVito ain't starting. Stop with that. I'm just calling the names of the people on the roster, baby. Let me get my point across. But either way, it could be Shador or it could be Cam Ward. They might even surprise us and and pick somebody else you you never know you know how the draft works right sometime when it comes to their decision making but either way i think russell wasn't probably going to be the starter everywhere he goes he's the ultimate not only competitor but
Starting point is 00:46:21 his approach to the game and willingness to learn the offense and obviously be a team player and all that good stuff. He says all the right stuff. So there's a reason why the Giants wanted to extend that grace to him, allow him another year, and I'm excited. I mean, Russell Wilson, Malik Nabors, they still need to do something with the effing offensive line and get another, no disrespect to brother Slayton.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Very nice receiver. You got Malik Navas, but you still need another playmaker. Did they bring Slayton back? Isn't he back? Yeah, he's back. That's what I just said. They still need another playmaker. They just played Slayton.
Starting point is 00:47:00 But they still need another playmaker outside of them. You know, to go with Malik Navas and Slade. That offensive line, boy, is abysmal. It's abysmal. You're going to have Russell running for his life. Outside of that, there's so many things they need to address
Starting point is 00:47:17 offensively to actually be competitive week in and week out. Especially when you're bringing in a quarterback. You're definitely drafting a quarterback. I don't know who it's going to be. Whether it be Shador, whether it be Cam Ward, or maybe surprise to pick somebody else you might like that you've seen.
Starting point is 00:47:35 But there are other issues that need to be fixed. And to me, I would start with that offensive line. If I told you five years ago this would Russell Wilson's career, would you have believed it? Bouncing around like this, Ocho? You wouldn't have. No, probably not.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Probably not. Because even me as a lover and an enthusiast of the game and understanding of it, the trajectory in which he was going was always, to me, he was viewed as the top, the cream of the top. One of the elites. Because he was consistent year in and year out.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Year in and year out. He was consistent year in and year out. Year in and year out. He was consistent. He was a place of comfortability where he knew a system, and you just go in there and do what you need to do year in and year out. Now, on the back end, things change. I wish Pete Carroll hadn't made that call. You already know what I'm talking about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:43 And you would have had two rings under your belt yeah but I think man Seattle saw something they saw slippage Ocho ah ah
Starting point is 00:48:54 okay Ocho he's been on his third team in 33 years yeah ain't no well-rounded ain't no let's not sugarcoat it
Starting point is 00:49:04 he's on his at 13 in 3 years right it's tough because you know you had you learned the Broncos system. You were there for two years. You go to Pittsburgh, you learn that system.
Starting point is 00:49:28 It's harder and harder to keep. I mean, you think about it. It gets harder and harder to learn a system. Yeah. Even though, because look at Baker.
Starting point is 00:49:36 Once he got, look, okay, he went to Carolina. He was in the Rams. Well, we, everybody knew he wasn't going to stay very long with the Rams. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Except the fact they had Matthew Stafford. But look at him now. He's thriving. But he got great complimentary players around him. He got Mike Evans. He got Chris Garvin. He got a nice running back. They did a great job. Bucky Irvin. They did a great job in the draft with the running back position.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Mike Evans is Mr. Consistency. Chris Garvin went down, but hey hey he's back back yeah that's why i think your support cast matters huh that's why i say it all the time yeah yeah yes yes and for a quarterback for a quarterback that may be on the decline where he's not the same as he once was if you're a quarterback you're not in a position and you need those players around you to make you quarterback and you're not in a position and you need those players around you to make you better, when you're not the caliber
Starting point is 00:50:28 of player anymore to make them actually better, you have to be in the right system. Yeah. The right supporting cast and everything will take off. It's hard to hide your weaknesses when those around you
Starting point is 00:50:42 ain't that good. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's very hard to hide your weaknesses. Yeah, you ain't that good. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's very hard to hide your weaknesses. Yeah, because I'm going to make you play to it. Yeah. Hey. Yeah, but, man. See, that's what makes the Eagles so difficult.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Yeah. Because if you take Saquon away, you got two guys outside that can make you pay. You got to deal with, yeah. Mm-hmm. So now, what do they do? It's like, we just go play zone because you can't run the football with what you got behind you patrick mahomes you can't run the football right right so now they say you know what hey uh kansas city say nah saquon we ain't gonna let you do we ain't gonna let you
Starting point is 00:51:16 run outside the building right and her says okay i'll throw you out the building oh hold this that's the thing it's it. It's not that complicated. It's really not. You try to take away what the strength is, and if somebody beat you, this is okay. You just give them credit. I mean, if I'm Kansas City, you go to the middle of the field and say, hey, man, Jalen, congrats, man.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Good game. You got to live with that. You got to live with it. Because if Saquon didn't run everybody else out of the building, he didn't run you out of the building, he didn't run you out of the building. Jalen Harris did what he needed to do.
Starting point is 00:51:49 He didn't throw for 300 yards, but he was accurate and he made you pay. Every time. Oh, Joe, the Patriots signed Stephon Diggs
Starting point is 00:51:57 three years. Contract worth up to 69 million. Diggs is 31 years of age, working his way back from a torn ACL. Yeah. Mike Vrabble is all in
Starting point is 00:52:05 on dig saying yeah just trying to make sure we're supporting drake and supporting the football team and again this is a highly competitive company receiver that's produced throughout his career and in multiple ways play and style yeah he's got a play strength to him and he sees that he can play physical you know route craft good run out the catch and it's good in the red zone and there's a play a play style to him that's always appreciated and that's what we want to continue to enhance and make sure that he's doing things to help us i like are you surprised that he got that length of deal that kind of deal coming up no absolutely not no because no I wasn't surprised
Starting point is 00:52:45 because they were in need of a playmaker of this magnitude. Even with Stephon Diggs coming off ACL, I understand. Raybo understands.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Robert Kraft understands. And I tweeted it out. I'm not sure if people in the chat can pull up a tweet that I said right before he even got signed. When he went on the visit,
Starting point is 00:53:03 I said something to the likes of one leg, two legs, no legs at all. Make sure he leaves that building with a deal. Not only I'm talking about the competitor that he is, and the ability for him to be able to get open and manipulate defenses, even if he doesn't play on the outside, even if he plays on the inside. That's a target that Drake May needs that he can be relying on
Starting point is 00:53:29 during football season. There's enough time from now with him rehabbing because I've already seen some drills with Stephon out there working already, and I'm seeing how far he's come so far. I saw him squatting, but I was surprised. I thought somebody would make a proven deal. One year. Okay, okay. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? Ocho, one year okay okay yeah you know one you know
Starting point is 00:53:45 i'm saying don't show one year 15 million dollars with a chance to make 20 25 million right but who knows we haven't seen the intricacies of this deal it might be a one-year deal right disguised as a three-year deal right because we saw t higgins deals and basically it's a one-year deal okay yeah so yeah uh i like it though i like especially oh yeah yeah yeah yeah for sure a veteran receiver uh good to me to me some people would probably won't like it i think a good locker room presence especially for the receivers for drake may he may being able to converse and learn from Diggs on some of the things when it comes to the route running and processing information and understanding what he sees and what he may see and how things, you know.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Yeah, back to the ATV, Rodney Rogers got paralyzed. You remember Rodney Rogers, the Wake Forest, great talented player, Denver Nuggets. He got paralyzed. I think he was at Phoenix at the time, but he ended up getting paralyzed on one. He was a hell of a player, Ocho. Rodney Rodgers left-handed went to Wake Forest.
Starting point is 00:54:50 He might have been player of the year in the ACC. Look that up, Ash. He was a hit. Ocho. I'm talking about Kajunk. I mean, he was,
Starting point is 00:54:56 I'm talking about, he was built like a football player. Y'all remember Rodney Rodgers? He looked like Larry Johnson, basically. Oh, he was thinking, he was, oh no, Ocho. I'm talking about grandma, I'm talking about grandma. He looked like Larry Johnson, basically. Oh, he was thinking, he was, oh no, Ocho. I'm talking about grandma, I'm talking about grandma.
Starting point is 00:55:08 He looked like a taffel. He was that big? Yes, he was ACC player of the year, Ocho. Went to ACC, went to Carolina, and they were loaded back then. Yeah. What? Yeah, he was, there was another one guy uh williams the boxer he ended up talking about paul paul williams yeah paul told paul told about paul threw about 2 000 punches around man paul was enjoying the watch paul he was cute he was a big ass well. Paul, he was huge. He was a big-ass world to wait. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Oh, yeah. Big, big, big, big. Hey, yeah. I like Paul. I just wish you guys, like, yeah, yeah. Just, guys, just be careful. That's all I'm saying, Ocho, because I don't want to see guys mess up their careers. Look, have fun.
Starting point is 00:56:01 My mindset was just different. Once I got that money, I said, you know what? I'm going to make this money as long as I can. Now, once my career's over, because your career's going to be over in the mid-30s anyway. I can hop on a motorcycle, a dirt bike, but I ain't finna mess no money up. None.
