if they can't survive in our government,
then what does it say about us?

The game that you just watched was different than the NBA,
the Western Conference finals.
The Thunder beat the Spurs by the score of 116 to 104.
Winby had a really tough night shooting the basketball tonight.
One of 13 from the floor or four from the three point line.
Four turnovers.
was Shay, he's a two-time league MVP for a reason.
32 points, two steals, two blocks,
passes Charles Barkley in all-time 30-point games.
Joe, I thought this game made it could have been differently,
had Winby had given them anything.
Look, he had, I think he had like 13 points, 13 rebounds, you know, six blocks.
But obviously, he just didn't get it going tonight.
And it don't matter what, I think the thunder might be a little better, Joe,
because with Kaysen Wallace,
he gives them a little bit more offensively,
but he also can turn up the defensive end.
So now he's going to give you points.
Lou Dort was never going to give you the kind of production offensively
that Kaysson Wallace can.
What did you like about what you saw from the Thunder?
And are they now the team that you think
that's going to come out of the Western Conference?
I like the fact that the Thunder came out
and tried to set a statement early on the Ocho.
Listen, they had this marked on their calendar, bro.
You know, considering the first,
fact, look, y'all, y'all caught us, me and the thunder, the thunder was saying,
look, y'all caught us when we weren't healthy.
J. Dub wasn't J. Dub. You feel what I'm saying?
Check had some growing pains he had to go through.
You know, hey, they came back stronger, Shay Ben, Shay Butter.
And he cold, um, I think, I think, okay, see if they can stay healthy.
I love the addition of Mara and how he plays.
I don't know if it.
Wimby, hey, hey, hell, he ain't too much shorter than Wimby, though.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
He ain't too much shorter than Wimby.
So he gives Wimmy some challenges, bro, because he's a very intelligent player.
He's a winner.
He comes from Michigan.
He won the national championship.
So he understands the game, bro, at a very high level.
He can play.
They can play through him.
He's very intelligent.
I love the fact that they sat Hardinstein quite a big Uncle Ocho.
I don't know if y'all really paid attention to it because Wimby, when Hardinstein is out there,
when we can kind of play free safety to the point to where look I ain't really got a guard
hardinstein for real so I can help all these other different positions but if you play
the big jalen Williams uh yeah you know what I mean he's just right the floor floor he's a
threat you have to honor that bro they have worked they out work they are work the spurs today man
okay see a much better team when they helped you they showed it tonight yeah I agree with
you I agree with uh uh Joe but you know when she's doing what he's done he's done he's
He's the master of the mid-range.
And I think last year they did an outstanding job.
He had some nights where he shot the ball.
He scored 30, but it took him how many shots did he take him to get those
three points?
When he's efficient like he was tonight and you get those surrounding,
Jared McCain was big because we've seen this before.
He did this against the Lakers, remember?
Every time they make a run and every time they get closer,
they take a lead, Jared McCain would hit a big shot.
The same thing tonight, a career high, a tie to career high, six made threes.
When he's shooting the ball like this,
and you got Shay doing what he done,
Jay Dub is not going to struggle from the floor like he did tonight.
He's going to get better.
But they are so deep with AJ Mitchell and Casey Wallace
and you got Caruso playing outstanding defense.
Now they have three bigs that they can really,
they really got 18 files that they can go against Winby Winby.
You got Marr, you got Hartstein, you got Chet.
But at the end of the day, the head of this snake is Shane.
And when he's playing like what he played tonight,
they're a very difficult team to beat.
You know, matter of fact, too, Uncle Joe, I really enjoyed this game tonight.
And what else will we expect from the Thunder?
Obviously, they've won the championship already.
They're a championship caliber team and they have chemistry because they all been playing together for some time now.
She is going to always be Shea.
His ability to create, be able to get to his spots and to be able to open things up for everybody else.
I like that shit.
I like that Shet.
Is it Shet?
Shet, Shet.
Yeah.
Shet.
Yeah.
The fact that he showed up tonight and showed that.
he has grown and matured a little bit.
And on the offensive and defensive end,
he was really nice tonight.
Jay Will,
I mean,
he only had 12,
he was 5 or 16,
but he won't always look like this.
He always won't have games like this.
But they made a very good statement,
played very well in transition,
offensively.
They are what they are,
and they play defense.
That's second quarter,
and they outscored the Spurs,
32, I think 32 to 16,
something like that.
The game was over there.
Obviously, in the fourth quarter,
actually was the third quarter.
actually was the third quarter
Spurs tried to make a comeback
but that got a young boy
Mr. McCain
man uh-uh
let me let me stretch this out a little bit more
let me stretch this out a little more
now it's a little teaser
throw a little teaser
we're gonna let y'all come back
and we'll have McCain go ahead
and hit a few more threes
to make sure we're gonna make a statement
a night
and let y'all know
we are the favor to come out of the West
why?
Because the goddamn bench is so damn deep.
Ooh, the boy.
A bench is deep, Joe and all?
Hey.
Hey, uh-o-o, I like the fact, I ain't even mad that Jay Wood didn't shoot great.
I like the fact that he put pressure on the rim.
Yes, sir.
You know what I mean?
He gets to the paint.
He can get to the cup.
Hey, listen, and now that, he ain't no dude you can go at.
He's defending out there too, bro.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
He played both ways.
I just think they really missed his presence in the playoffs this past season.
And it kind of showed today, bro.
Because they made it, they made a hell on the spurs today.
You know what I mean?
Hey, hey, them boys showed up and showed out today, man.
That's what you want to say.
Good competitive basketball.
Hey, the thunderback, bro.
If they stay healthy, I think we all know, man.
They're going to be tough to be.
And Shay going to get him.
You know, he got 30.
You can mark him down for 30 at night.
Put him down for 30.
Yeah.
Hey.
Go ahead, Ocho.
No, I was going to say, obviously, they play in the Spurs,
but you all have to remember, the Spurs will always look like this.
Vesel's not going to have a night.
We only have seven points.
He's not going to go two for eight.
Wimbi Yama's not going to have 12 points.
He's not going to be one.
one for 13 and 0 for 4 from 3.
So obviously they,
as a team collectively, they have to play
much better.
I got a question.
Go ahead.
What, uh, did you like the changes that San Antonio made
and St. Antonia Harper? Remember, we talked about
it was going to be hard to keep him coming off the bench.
He wasn't coming off the bench no more. That was,
that's a no-go.
Hey, he just saw, hold on.
He just saw, uh, the guy from Charlotte.
Yeah.
Five for 209.
Oh, Brandon Miller.
I'm not coming up to a bench.
Yeah, bro, bro.
I'm not coming off no bench.
No, I'm not coming up to bench.
Because guess what?
Next year, that's going to be five for 220.
So I'm not coming off the bench.
So I don't, I don't really think he had a choice.
I really don't.
This is the first year on Fox, his max contract.
It's the first year of that.
And they didn't want to get off him because they feel like, look, he was hurt.
And maybe he was hurt more than what we know the outside.
world new.
Right, right.
Because there are some plays that he made that like, bro, I'm like, bro, you got the game
one. All you got to do is pull the ball out.
You try to get a layup, OG blocks it, and we already know what happens.
They got the ring ceremony.
We'll talk about the Knicks and a bit.
But yeah, I think the thing is I don't think they have a choice.
Now, it does leave them a little undersized.
And rebounding was a thing.
Because you remember there was a stretch in the third quarter where they got like three
or four offensive rebounds in the road.
And Shay was able to connect.
You saw women, the women's like, come on, guys, we got to get a rebound.
Come on, damn.
Yeah.
And that's what happens when you have those guards.
They're extremely athletic, absolutely they're athletic, but you are a little undersized
and rebounding could be an issue.
We talked about this when we see the Dallas wings and the dub because they start three guards.
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
And teams get them on the glass because you're a little undersized there.
Yeah, but I don't think they really had a choice.
I don't think Coach Mr. Johnson had a choice but to start him this year, Joe.
Yeah, yeah.
You can see it, man.
I mean, he's another creator.
He just, he's just a tough, man, he a tough shot maker, tough shot taker.
And in transition, Uncle Ocho, he just, he held a deal with, bro.
He, you know, and to the pivot to the thunder, the thing that I love about the thunder,
with the exception of their bigs, every guy can put pressure on the realm.
You look at, you look at Shay, you look at Jay Dubb, you look at McCain, you look at Wallace.
Yes, you look at all of them.
of their guys can put pressure on the rim.
And for the most part,
Dube plays defense.
Wallace plays defense.
Chet plays defense.
Marr is a real protective because you see they had the lob
and he blocked the lob dunk that Wembe was about to get.
Caruso, we know he plays defense.
And so at any given time,
they're going to have three guys of their five
that are outstanding defenders,
own ball defenders.
Now, if you keep Chet and you keep Marr in the game,
Now you got outstanding rim protectors.
Yeah, yeah.
And then you got an ultimate hustle guy in Hardenstein.
I love what they've done.
They're going to be there at the end.
This left the sour tape because I know they wanted to be back-to-back champs.
They wanted at least an opportunity to compete for it
because they know that's what makes you special.
They've been a lot of NBA teams.
There have been a lot of teams in professional sports to win run in a row.
People don't look at you as special if you only win one in a row.
Right.
When you start repeating and obviously,
it puts you in mythical category if you can three beat.
Yeah.
Because it's been so few.
But no, I think this is going to be a great matchup.
And this is going to be a matchup.
We're going to see for the foreseeable future because they're all f-in young.
Yeah.
Yeah.
These two, OKC, San Antonio, in Minnesota.
Yeah.
And I never count them out because they run like a well-or engine.
And you know what you're going to get from them.
so it wouldn't surprise me to see them
in the Western Conference finals.
But these two teams, they're gonna be fighting, bro.
They know it.
They're gonna be, hey, you see it get a little spice out there
that in your Ocho.
Oh yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
A little tussling, a little pushing, a little tussling.
Just let you know him out here.
Just let you know him out here.
Yeah, hey, listen, listen, we remember what happened,
you know, a few months ago.
We back now, partner, healthy, ready to go.
Yeah.
Hey, see that what you try to get you a little quick,
hey, back up off.
Yeah, you're trying to get you a little quick boat.
Hey, you all right?
Enjoy a little something.
Yeah.
But hey, look at around where that comes from.
Hey, get up off and now, hey, I ain't the one.
I ain't the one.
But no, I was surprised.
I thought Wendy would play a little bit better.
I thought he'd be a little bit more aggressive.
Sometimes what irks me about him is sometimes that he settled for that damn three.
And sometimes I hate when big guys make the three, Joe, because they settle.
And we see that sometimes from Joel and B.
We see that from a lot of Bs.
The only big that won't settle from the three.
is yoke yeah he can make that three but he gonna put pressure on the damn real now you give it to
him you dare him to shoot it he'll shoot it he's gonna shoot i don't be i don't be like you know guys
bro put that ball up for and get to the hey come on wimby they can't guard you down there
get your big ass down there hey hold on oh go ahead go ahead oh hey hey aunt that was the same
issue you had with him last year yeah it is hey he fell in love with the three that's something
that he should have worked on in the all season listen i'm not going to fall in love with a three
I'm going to establish dominance.
I'm a set of precedent now, you know,
and letting people know,
I'm going to put the ball on the flow.
I'm going to get to my spot.
You know, I worked on my lower extremities.
I got a little bit stronger,
and I'm going to leave out there.
You know, I'm going to leave the three alone.
I'm going to go down here and bang pause in the post.
No, no, no.
We're going back to the basket.
I'm going to ask for the ball.
Yeah, hey, come on, Joe.
Nah, let me tell you some.
And I'm going to ask for the ball in the low block.
Nah, let me tell you something.
This is why Hardenstein.
is there. This is why they got Hardinstein.
Oh Joe. He is there to beat him up them for that first quarter.
He had Hartside that'll beat him up.
I'm gonna be him out.
Yeah, where my heart's that had like two files, Joe, like the first two minutes.
That's what I'm trying to say.
That's his job.
His job is the frustrating, you know what I mean?
And then make him want to settle for those jump shots, bro.
Yeah, you're going to have to live with him.
I don't know if he's going to go OFA like he did, but here, you know, I think O KC got a nice remedy for him.
You know, because they mix up different matchups, different players.
And I think it kind of has them a little flustered out there, honestly,
because all of their bigs are so different.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
From Mara, he's a little different from the Big J. Williams,
because Big J. Williams, he got that split guy.
You don't get out there, he's shooting their thing.
You know what I?
All he's looking to do is pick and pop.
He's going to sit the high screen and pop behind the three-point line.
He ain't diving.
So now if that's Chad or if that's Hardenstein,
you can look at them.
Check and pick and pop, but he can also dive.
Hartstein is looking to get that little push shot.
That's all he doing.
He ain't picking and popping.
He's picking and pushing and pushing.
And that ain't, and see, with Hardinstein, if you're the Spurs,
that's what you won't, Ocho, because that ain't going to beat you.
Them little point, little chippy points at Hardinstein get around the real.
Pat him on his back going down the other way.
That ain't going to beat us, bro.
Trust me.
You know what I think?
He can't make one or two of them, but hell.
If he's shooting, he can't make enough.
I'm not worried about Hardinstein having 20 and 12.
There you go.
There you go.
I'm not worried about that.
So that's the last thing.
on my mind. So I'll concede. I can see the little eight, 10 points. Okay, fine.
But I think the thing is Joe is that Wimby needs to understand. The three ball will
always be always be there because if I'll, we'll concede you that. Yeah.
We just don't want just eight foot ass around it, 12, 10, 12 feet from the basket. Yeah.
That's what we don't want. Yeah. Because now you got us in a pickle because we're going
to probably have to come double you and now you got guys that can shoot the three ball.
I like the way Castle played tonight. I like the way Diller Harper was on attack tonight. Uh,
As you mentioned, Vassell and Champagne is not going to play as bad.
I think Fox will be a little bit.
Fox Fox is going to be Fox.
Fox can get, they can't keep him out of the pain.
No, they can't keep Fox from the basket.
What did Fox have about it?
He had 14, 69.
I like to see him a little bit more aggressive.
I've seen him more aggressive.
And when he's aggressive, Joe, they can't keep Fox away from the rim.
Oh, no.
You know what?
When his mind is made up, Uncle Ocho, whether he's going to get to the basket
or shoot his little mini or shoot his little floater.
He good, bro. Confidence is everything, man. It's the swag that you play with.
It's how you run that pick and roll. It's how you manipulate that defense and get them to do what you want to do.
You know what I mean? Then boys go under. You stop right behind that pick.
Oh, Cho, shoot that three in their mouth.
Tell him, hold that, run down court. You hear me? You know what I mean?
I just feel like Fox has a tendency. If he missed a shot or two, he started to get a little reluctant.
You know, he's not as, you know, demonstrative as far as getting to the basket.
you know what I mean he's starting to kind of defer a little bit and they still need him to kind of keep going so I kind of agree with that point on but man listen okay see man hey look they ain't trying to hear none of that guess what we're gonna scratch y'all off the list who's next yeah yeah yeah yeah I did look this is gonna be a battle this is going to be the battle for the foresee over future I don't think there's a whole lot of love loss between these two teams especially two bigs uh Shay is like whatever the way in the blow she don't really have no he don't have no animosity
towards anybody he's like I'm gonna get to I'm gonna get to my spot man that
joke a hey uh uh uh I think he walked on one of them though but that joke hey I was
talking about when he turned into the ballerina yeah no on the baseline Joe remember he had one on
the baseline yeah yeah yeah yeah but then he had one on the right side he's spinning and ran
to the car and ran to the I'm like what damn he go he go I mean that that's it's look that
His midi is as good as we've ever seen.
I mean, look, we know Jordan and Kobe had a nice middy,
Kauai got a nice midi, but the, oh boy, here,
from 18 and Ian,
might as well count it.
Hey, hey, Uncle Ocho, they may live in the gym, bro.
You can tell when somebody is shooting that shot, Uncle Ocho,
until they can shoot it with their damn eyes closed.
You hear me?
Yeah.
Hey, hey, you give me an open look, nine times
or time I'm gonna make this.
And that's how she feels, bro.
He understands that.
He's going to get to his spots.
Yeah.
He's going to get to a spot.
You ain't going to be able to stop him.
Man, the young man look good today.
I like how they went in San Antonio as a group.
I'm talking about just because they, they went on runs when Shay wasn't in the game.
You know what I mean?
That's what makes them so unique.
Yeah.
Is that a lot of times when your start to go out, with your key starter goes out,
teams are able to claw back up the lead if they have it.
What they can do, if they don't have a lead, they can get you a lead.
Yeah.
And if the, guess what?
If the game, if you, if the other team has a lead, they can claw back to leave.
Yeah.
They, they, look, this team is put together.
Sam Presti has done an unbelievable job.
And he, he just seems like he knows when to bring somebody in, when to let somebody go.
He's like, look, we can't pay everybody, but let's keep the core guys together.
Hey, Shay is the most important.
And then we'll facilitate all that around him.
Look, we need J-Dub, we need Chet because those are some anchors.
young guys, but Kason Wallace, they could, they could not let, I think Isaiah Joe got out of there,
Ludoic got out of there, but he realized, you know what, let's save, let's save a couple of hundred,
a hundred million dollars, 150 million dollars.
Instead of going to second April, we can do this and build from there.
I think they're going to be, when it's all said and done, I understand Minnesota with LeMello,
they're feeling good about themselves.
I understand San Antonio feel like they let something slip away last year because they led every
single game and even led about 16 in one of those games.
They let something slip away.
I get all that.
And we know what Yoke and Murray and Gordon.
If Gordon can stay healthy, if Murray can stay healthy, we know what they represent.
But boy, this young team, this young Thunder team, they don't take a backseat for nobody.
And it's just plug and play it.
Okay, Ocho, it's like whoever they draft, whoever they bring in, they fit in so seamlessly.
You know what I mean?
Look at McCain out there, bro.
McCain, look, I'm talking about, I'm like, this dude.
just he come in he he he gonna leave an imprint on the game bro he play hard he played the right way
and they got guys who ain't never gonna go road on you you know what i mean yeah they always gonna be
solid ain't never gonna do nothing to hurt you and i think okay c and sam pressing them bro they do the
best job and bringing guys in to fit their system to where they can dominate look you think about
san antonio uncle they can't survive the non wimby minutes no they can't survive the non-wimbing
And that's going to be, that's going to be huge, Joe, Joe.
You have, you have to be able to survive in order to win a championship.
And that hurt, I think that hurt, like when LeBron, because when LeBron would lead to court
in the playoffs, they would, whatever lead they had, the team was going to claw it back.
He couldn't get no rest.
Yeah.
We can, we know we can rest shape, we can rest shape for five minutes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There were times LeBron could rest in 32 seconds.
What the hell of you go, what kind of rest you get with that?
So you're absolutely right, Joe, and this is what make them so unique.
It's kind of like Kansas City, a lot of times you see these teams or the Patriots,
no matter who they drafted, the guys come in and they would play to what they were supposed to do.
Never asked, but I think the biggest thing to help McCain,
he comes in from the rip and let threes go.
And there ain't nobody looking at any sideways.
You know what it is?
He got lead guard mentality, meaning, like, look, I really could be starting on another team
in the league, but I'm in this role right here.
Guess what?
I'm going to be a star in this role that I'm in,
Okay, Ocho, and I'm going to perform at the best of my ability.
Look, I'm going to come off the bench playing against these other team's second
units.
Yes.
I'm going to get into the money.
Joe, you remember how well he was playing for Philly before he got hurt?
Yeah, yeah.
He was playing really well for the 76ers before he got injured.
Yeah.
I was surprised that I understand they had BJ Etcum and Edgham is an explosion.
guy, defender can score.
I don't think he's the score that McCain is.
Yeah.
But he can score, he can defend.
But I was surprised that they basically just let him go.
Just basically gave him away.
They was going to have that problem, Uncle Joe.
They was going to have to pay him at some point.
And hell, you got Max that he's making 200, almost 300 million.
You know what I mean?
And you got Joe L and B.
You got Joe L and B.
You just, you weren't going to be able to, really, it was going to be hard for you to
find minutes for him and you weren't going to pay him.
You know what I mean? Plus, he had created so much great value for himself.
Hell, you can get something good for him, which what they get for him?
Draft picks?
42 packs of Gatorade and some pre-rass.
Remember you coming up that injury, Joe?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, but they got them one.

They got one.
The 76ers for the first time, LeBron James actually won a game in which, you know,
opening night because normally he went to the heat, they lost.
They go back to Cleveland, they lose.
He goes to the Lakers, they lose.
But guess what?
They won tonight.
The Sixers' sport of the Lakers, excuse me, the Knicks ring ceremony, getting a win,
106 to 100.
Everybody wondered how the stars would lie.
Guess what?
shots tonight. Maxie had 19. Embeddead had 15. Jalen Brown had 14. LeBron had 13.
BJ had 10. Maxie. All things being said, Maxie was the best play on the floor tonight.
I don't know. The only thing that concerned me, Joe, and I've noticed this, sometimes they take ill-advised three.
They quit. I saw Embry come not just jack it up. I saw Maxie jack-o.
Anthony Simons.
Yeah.
Yeah, bro, y'all don't need that.
Yeah. Go ahead, Joe. What did you like about what you saw from the 76th to the like?
And it's this foreshadowing of things to come. I know it's one game. They got 81 more games to go.
Yeah. Did you like what you saw? I love what I seen tonight, Uncle Ocho, from the Sixers.
First off, they spoiled a Knicks ring ceremony. I love that. Hey, it ain't nothing better than somebody getting their der ring.
You kick and you kick their butt on their home court. Ain't nothing better than that.
another part, I just thought Philly in all phases, bro.
They were great in transition.
Defensively, they were talking.
Okay, Ocho, I don't know if y'all seen it, but halftime, they put LeBrun on cat.
They put LeBron on cat.
They kind of take, so, so, so M.B.
can kind of roam and Brun stay connected to the shooter, so they weren't giving up, you know, them, them threes.
I know you made a couple, but I think Philly has a remedy.
They got Jalen Brown, who.
who played excellent defense on Brunson.
You know what I mean?
I think he's going to always give him fit.
Oh, he can,
he can borrow them because he's six foot seven.
Yeah.
It's hard.
Look, I got the length and the range to deal with you
because we saw what he did to Luca.
Now Brunson is a little bit quicker to Luca.
They're a different type of guard.
One of the righty, one of the lefty, one is a bigger.
So Jalen matches up really well with either guy.
Yeah.
Because he's not, because Luca, normally a lot of guards,
if you try to guard Luca, he's bigger than they are.
So teams have to put bigger players on it,
and he's able to get by him.
Well, J.B. has the foot speed to stay connected with him,
challenge any shot that you put up, recover.
And Brunson, he's so much taller than Brunson.
Yep.
With the height, now I can bother you.
Yeah.
Go ahead, go ahead, Joe.
And, and them little bumps when Brunson get into the paint,
he tried to bump you and shoot his face.
Yeah, man, he's all on that.
Jaylon Brown all on that.
Yeah.
Man, this is going to be a great series,
but this is what I expected from Philly, Uncan Ocho.
Yeah, Edgecombe probably, you know,
offensively didn't give you the productivity
that he probably would have liked,
but you're going to have nice like this
because I thought everybody played pretty well.
You know what I mean?
Defensively, you hold the Knicks to 100 points in today's game.
You know what I mean?
That's great defense, Uncoo.
You know what I mean?
When you look at it,
they had almost seven guys with double figures.
LeBron James had 14 and B had 13,
JB 19, Maxi had 28.
You had Carlwell, Pope off the bench, gave you 10, Anthony Simons gave you 13,
Etcham gave you nine.
You almost had, you almost had, you know how the fact, you had, what,
six guys, almost had seven guys with double figures.
Hey, hey, I can live with that.
Hey, hey, Joe, and I saw the game a little different.
Now, I know, I know Philly won, right?
But to me, it seemed like the Knicks were dominating from the start.
The first quarter, it just seemed like in transition,
the Knicks were getting more points.
André Drummond, I'm not sure.
Hey, listen, I thought when Mitchell Robinson left,
it would leave an empty space in a sense
and there would be nobody to replace him
and what he brought to the team.
Andreudan was an animal.
He was an animal.
Listen, he was crashing the board.
They were having second chance points
and he put nose into.
And the fact that I'm thinking I'm watching,
I'm like, man, it was like at the second quarter,
maybe nine minutes in the second quarter,
the nick was up by 10.
I was like, man, Philly ain't what they thought.
thought they was. They just got a bunch of all-stars on a roster that aren't really playing well.
The chemistry wasn't there. I mean, that's what it looked like to me, Joe.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was for a minute. Yeah. And then obviously, the game of
basketball, it's always about runs. It's always about runs. And all of a sudden, I look up the goddamn,
the goddamn, the goddamn skull tied. Because you know what happened? The first half, they were trying to
find rhythm in chemistry, Ocho. You know what I mean? It took them a little while. Yeah.
But after halftime, when LeBron went to the bench, after halftime, Ankenocho, they went on that run.
Simon's hit about three threes.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
J.B. started to get into his bag.
Make sure you know, they were about like 15 points, you know, going to the fourth, 13 or something like that.
You know, they had made a little run.
So they got guys who are going to score.
And look how LeBron was great tonight.
Yeah.
He was great tonight.
Uncanocho.
What he had?
14. 14.
14.
19 and 7.
Huh?
14, 9 and 7.
Yeah.
Hey, listen, all you want him to do is be able to facilitate key things under control.
He was making the right reeds every time.
And then, look, once Maxie got going, Uncle Ocho, now you got to double that pick and roll.
Now you just hit Embed, long as MB make the right play like he was doing,
man, it's going to be tough to be, bro, because Maxie, you can't let him play.
You can't let him play.
Yeah.
Hey, it's almost unfair, Uncle Joe.
When you think about it, obviously, you know LeBron goes to the 76es and everybody crowns him champions.
Oh, they're going to win the NBA.
they're going to win the NBA finals this year.
And you're watching play in the first half.
And I'm thinking to myself,
nah, something don't look right.
Yeah.
Something don't look right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They went on that run in that third quarter,
in that fourth quarter.
Yeah.
And you look at LeBron,
and LeBron not even inserting himself into the game,
but he's beating him up here.
He beating everybody upstairs,
making all the right passes.
And Maxie doing what Maxie does.
And then everyone else contributing
and doing what they normally do,
listen, it's going to get scary,
probably as long as they stay injury free.
The Sixes are the team that come out east outside of the heat.
You see the way they're staggering their minutes is that they're trying to keep everybody minutes low.
The young legs, Maxey played 39 minutes.
Esch can play 45 minutes.
They played the bulk of your minutes.
But LeBron, 34.
You got a B played 33.
You got J.B. played 35.
The younger guys, hey, Joel and B, we're going to do everything we possibly can to keep your minutes under 35.
Because we need you at the back end of the season, going into the playoffs.
We need you as health.
We need you healthy.
We need you like new slippers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Other guy, a young guy's Maxie.
Bro, you getting 38, 39 minutes tonight.
Escham.
What?
You're 21 years old.
You're lucky you don't be playing 40 damn minutes.
Yeah, yeah.
People don't realize Joe, and you know this being a basketball player, it's not easy to blend
guys that's been all NBA, to spend all.
All-Stars to blend them in.
Because like you said, we gave you the shots.
Guys looking to get as many shots as they won't.
Joy and B, we've seen Joy and B.
take 30-plus shots.
We've seen J.B. take 30-plus shots.
In order for them to be successful, that's not the type of basketball they can play.
They can't.
And you know what, too?
I like that you just said that.
A lot of people have to understand, the players have, they can't be selfish.
And everybody got a sacrifice.
Everybody has a sacrifice because every night, they're going to be your night.
And LeBron, to me, LeBron is going to be the one
that's going to have to sacrifice the most.
He can have to sacrifice the most.
Even though he's 41, 42, he can go in the year 24,
he understands, like he did,
we was able to take a back seat and be the third option
when he was the L.A.?
Yeah, yeah.
He has to understand.
Well, now he's going to have to understand.
He probably knows his role on his team.
When you need me, when you need me, I can turn it on.
Yeah.
But I don't have to.
I don't have to.
I can go on cruise control and facilitate the whole game
and just make the right decisions
and later everybody else take over.
And when I need to take a game over, you know, I can still do it.
It wouldn't need me.
Yeah.
When you say, Ocho, you say something very interested in Joe, you know this.
Like sacrifice.
That means I got to give up something now for get something later.
Later.
You're giving up shots now and points now in order to get to the playoffs and play well down the stretch.
That's what sacrifice means.
I give up something that I want for something that I really need.
Yeah.
And that's what you have to have.
And guys have to be unselfish.
Everybody, everybody talks about, well, you know, what are you willing to give up?
Yeah.
You say you want to win a championship.
What are you willing to give up to get that championship?
What are you willing to do to get that?
Because everybody talks about sacrifice until it actually comes time when you actually have to sacrifice.
Absolutely.
Man, man, I'm trying to get my, man.
I'm trying to get me another contract, Joe.
Yeah, man, I'm trying to be all-MBA.
I'm trying to get to an all-star game.
Everybody is talking about what they want to do.
And then you look up at like, well, we had a great opportunity.
Oh, Joe, you remember the Philadelphia Eagles?
Oh, we got a job.
dream team. They had Vince Young and they had Michael Vick and had all these.
Yeah. Hey, they were loaded, boy. It's only one ball. It's only one. And so somebody's going
to have to say be okay with not being what they once were when they weren't this collection of
superstars on the team. It's not easy. It's not easy. And a lot of times it would destroy a team
if guys aren't strong enough to control it. Yeah. Because once I start having a little success,
success is a drug.
Yes, uh.
You want more of it.
Yes, uh.
Yes, uh.
Hey, man, I saw my name in the paper the first time.
I was like, huh?
Hey, you said, I saw your name in the paper.
Hey, Joe.
Hey, the first time I seen me on Madden.
Yeah.
I'm only at 76.
I ain't tripping, but I'm on there, though.
Hey, well, I'm on there.
Hey, Joe, I see by there, I have to, hold on a shot up.
That's me.
Yeah.
That's me.
That's a shatter.
Yeah.
Oh, well, let me.
Hey, y'all got a couple of little things about, you know, Shadden Sharp,
the Seventh-Rodd draft pick out of Savannah State.
Well, let me see if I give me a full paragraph next time.
Hello.
I'm a dark dude.
Yeah.
Hello.
Y'all bitching my name.
I'm a seventh-rider.
Let's see them put some stats behind that.
But I think I love what I saw today.
I love what I saw.
And I do think, I think, look, everybody knows if guys are sacrificing and everybody
seen, and Joe L.N. B said it.
And LeBron says, look, I felt I could help Joe Lilley because he's won.
He's been an all NBA.
He's been an MVP.
the only thing that's lacking on his resume,
he has a gold medal is an NBA championship.
And Joel N. B.
say, for the man to say, he wants to help me get that,
I think Joel N.B.
understand, and he'll be willing to sacrifice.
Tyreeze Max is going to be.
Tyreez, do what you do.
Yeah.
Do your thing, Tyree.
Yeah.
We're going to turn.
We're going to turn.
You lose.
Everybody else, we got to play with, I'm sorry,
we got to play with a struck.
Hey, listen, you know, they say trust the process,
but the process hasn't worked out for a very long time.
But I bet-
The process, we're over.
We're done now, Ocho.
The process-old.
Yeah, damn that process.
Hey, I tell you one thing.
I bet I bet in B believe in the night.
Boy, you see how small and B is, boy?
Yeah, he looks good.
Hey, boy, and B-low.
Hey, Joe, and B about my size right now, right?
Yeah, hey, eh, eh.
Hey, hey, hey.
He by, by my size.
Yeah, I know, but that's where Joe, Joel,
might have been on that zip.
You might have been on that zip.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hold on,
hold on, oh, you got a chew.
You see how long his arms.
I did.
I did.
Listen, hey, look, I ain't gonna say I wasn't thinking that because look, even though he's small, Uncle Ocho, he ain't really got no explosion no more.
You know what I mean?
No, no, no, no.
If you lose a little bit of that weight, I'm thinking he's going to be a little more explosive.
He ain't really, you know what I mean?
He just out there playing the right way, bro.
He out there playing the right way.
He's trying to get it done.
Joe, I think the thing is that those injuries, his back, his knees, his ankles, I think that's robbed him a lot of his explosion.
he's just so big, he's so skilled, he still can, hey,
he's going to still give somebody a 35 and 15 night.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's still going to help somebody up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But yeah, I understand what you're saying, Joe,
but you got to understand, Joe, he, he's 30 now with that injury history.
He's not 25, unenjured.
And so, yeah, he's going to have a lot, he's not going to play above the room.
Shack wasn't above the rim player.
Yeah.
And Shaq size, Shaq stay dunking on people's head.
That's not what Joel and B is anymore.
No, he's not what he'll.
But he's still, hey, he's still a dynamic player.
Now, don't, yeah, yeah, he's a great fit for what they do because think about it,
when they started trapping him today, Uncle Ocho, he's making the right play.
Yeah, we're getting wide open shots.
We're getting backdo lobs.
So that team is built for success as long as everybody comes.
compromise, you know, and play together.
Yes.
They look like that today.
And for me, it seems like they hang in a head on defense, bro.
Look, we're going to have to guard.
If we want to be a championship caliber team, we're going to have to play defense.
And this team, this New York Nick team, they held Brunson to what?
He was six for 19.
He only had 21 points.
Yeah, hey, Ocho, I don't know.
Hey, if I look in the stats sheet and the man I would guard and was six for 19 at
Twitter, I've done a hell of a job that night, partner.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
O.G.
O.G. was up the night. As great
as he been playing hell for the past.
Three or 12. One or nine from the three.
Ten points. Hey, that's the worst game. He'd
had held in the past six months. That boy
don't know nothing about no bad game. You know what I mean?
Bill Bridgill was only two or eight.
Two or eight over two from three.
He's known for having the game like this. He'll come back
that game and have 25, 10 for 12
from the field. You know what I'm just saying?
And five or six from the three point
line. You're damn right. You know what I mean?
Josh Hart is really the only
one that's consistent. He's going to give you
consistent, hard level play.
You know what I mean?
He may only score two or four points
for some nights, but he'll be going to have about 14 rebounds.
He's going to always kind of balance out his stats.
Yeah, I love watching play.
But they compete.
I loved it for New York the way they celebrated,
you know, with the ceremony and hanging the rafters.
That was cool to see.
But I just love, man, when a team like Philly comes in
and understands the moment, the environment,
Uncle Ocho, and they say, look,
we're going to disrupt everything.
ain't y'all got going tonight.
We're going to keep the garden real quiet.
They ain't going to be able to do a whole lot of cheering.
Yeah.

If you don't win, you have no power.
It's real.
Those are the very people who I always say vote against their own economic interests, and they complain about the very thing they're seeing.
It's raw.

Yeah, we're going to get up out of here with a win.
But those rings look unbelievable.
The diagram and the way they did it, that you could lift the ring up and it looked like Madison Square Garden.
Hey, that's crazy.
Hey, hey, boy, you see how big, you saw the lady on TV, was holding the ring.
Either her hands is that small or the ring that damn big.
Oh, Cho, they're getting bigger and bigger.
Because, you know, the thing is, I got to be.
the ring got to be bigger than last years.
Right.
So pretty soon,
the ring will be big as your fears.
Hey, that's great.
Hey, Jason and Beverly Hills make the NBA rings too?
Oh, yeah.
And the NFL, yeah.
He's kind of corner the market because before it used to be
Balfour or Jostens, the same one
that made the high school class rings and things.
Right, right.
Yeah, that used to make the championship ring.
Right.
But he's kind of cornered the market because he does.
I know Jason personally.
Me too.
He does an unbelievable job.
He doesn't unbelievable.
I'm like, damn.
Hey, bro, I'm like, hey, can you make me a ring, take my design right here and make me.
Hey, hey, hey, I didn't got a few pieces from Jay when I was playing too, now.
I did too, Ocho.
Oh, yeah, for real?
Boy, I got, boy, that he got so much money from me here.
Yeah, hey, that's a good friend, good friend of mine.
The nail, I got this nail.
I got these nails from him.
But then the thing is like, now it makes me one like, man, I need to go back.
I need to win me a championship, so I get Jake the rim.
Hey, it getting better and better, ain't it?
Yes, they are.
Hell, yeah.
Hey, we might have to win a award
and have Jason, hey, make us a ring us a ring us a ring
for the award that we want.
Hey, I like that.
I like that.
Hey, we can have, hey, we can have him like,
make us a plaque and outlining the diamonds real clean.
Yeah, but we got to be able to wear it, don't you?
Okay, okay, okay, I like that.
I want them to put on the wall, people can't see it in my house.
I want something they can see on my hand.
Matter of fact, you know what we should do?
What is that with that?
like some nightcap chains.
Come on what it is.
I'm down.
I'm talking about something clean,
something clean, sophisticated.
You know, I need to get me a chain
and have my beard and have my head.
How what?
Like my head, have a chain with my head
and have my beard and everything.
Hey, hey, Joe, remember Rick Ross,
when Rick Ross had that chain a while ago?
Yep, yep.
It was just the head with his beard.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't give me water bill.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But no, can you imagine where that atmosphere was like?
It was probably with electric.
Yeah.
Oh, did they, did the Knicks put that NBA cup up also?
I know they spoke on it when they was hanging the banner,
but I don't know if they put the NBA.
I don't know if they put that up there.
Hold on.
Let's see what they.
That boy balling day.
Hold on.
The New York Knicks quietly.
raised 2025 NBA Cup champions banner to the Raptors in Madison Square Garden on October 20th.
Now I want to know because you remember they criticized the Lakers Joe.
Yeah.
You did October they beat them up.
Yeah.
Now I need everybody that said the Lakers, what are you put?
You're the champion.
You don't put battles up like that.
I'm going to see what's going to be said tomorrow and the days moving forward.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I, but you notice.
LeBron didn't have nothing to do it.
So they ain't going to say nothing, Joe.
They ain't going to say nothing.
They ain't going to say nothing.
They ain't going to say something about it.
They're going to say something about that.
You think so?
By them hanging their World Cup, they're going to say something about that.
They go think so, Joe?
Yeah.
These folks going to talk about that, man.
Them jokes, they did this on, on night when they got everybody's attention.
Hello.
Yeah.
I thought, I thought that I'm, hey, because you know what they say.
man, Joy wouldn't even let them raise no banner like that.
Kobe wouldn't let them raise no banners like that.
Oh, they wouldn't have put that banner up
had they not won the NBA championship.
I guarantee you that.
Why you put it up?
Why you put it up to what you call them?
You got the NBA championship, so why you need to put that up tonight, Joe?
Because we won both of them and we won't y'all don't know that year, 25.
But I thought NBA Cup don't mean,
Yeah, it do mean something. We want them all there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we want them all there.
Yeah. It means something to those that's on the court playing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. If we got trophies and MVP awards, didn't we?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When you come to my house, you're going to see it hanging up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. And plus, what I want, I want half a million for winning too. And I bought me some real nice with it.
Hello. Everybody get half a million? Yeah.
NBA, the NBA Cup, yeah.
Ooh.
Hey, that's a nice little, look, you know, get that.
Oh, yeah, for a little in-season tournament.
Yeah, they probably wouldn't put half that on a foreign or something somewhere.
You know how I'm going to do it, man.
Well, you better go put half on the foreign because the other half going to Uncle Sam.
So you, you ain't getting the whole 500.
You better go put, you better go put, hey, man, let me give you something that cost me too,
because I do $250 going, especially New York.
Yeah.
New York, and Jersey, taxes, Joe.
Hey, that got to be the worst.
Is it worse to L.A. though?
No, hell no.
Damn.
Yeah, I heard.
L.A., I mean, basically, you get 50%.
Whatever you make, if you make that kind of money in L.A.,
Uncle Sam, hey, by the time you pay federal, which is 36,
and you pay the 14%, that's 50%.
They get 50, you get 50.
Oh, yeah.
They're coming out.
It's coming out of the check.
They got to get their money.
But no, I thought, I thought the, I thought the 76s look really.
well tonight. It's one game.
And I don't want to get too far
out. As Ocho will say, I don't,
I don't want to put the horse in front of the cart.
Even though that's where he's supposed.
Even though Joe, that's where he's supposed to be.
But I think this is foreshadowing.
I think they're going to get, I think they're going to give this kind of effort
on a nightly basis because that's no, they know what it takes.
Look, I've definitely got to get, you see LeBron got that patch.
I definitely got to get one of them Jersey is not at 24.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He ain't gonna be worth something too.
Anybody who are going to get 25.
That thing ain't gonna be,
anything gonna be worth something too, uh.
Yeah.
Oh,
can you imagine that first one?
Cause he probably had wore a couple of them because you saw that,
I think Jordan just had a jersey itself for like 14 million.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was with,
I was with a guy.
I was at an event one time.
And I was with the guy that I think he paid $8 million for a jersey,
uh,
Jordan Jersey.
Yeah.
Oh, hold on.
We talk about game worn.
Yes.
Okay, okay, that's understandable.
I thought you just need to hear.
Well, I was saying that's understandable?
Yeah.
8 million for Jersey?
Michael Jordan, the game worn jersey?
If for $8, $14 million, I need Jesus cloak.
Hey, hey, you don't understand.
Listen, hey, hey, hey, Joe, let me, let me tell you something about,
about my billiard.
Now, I don't really collect nothing.
I don't keep it.
I do have a great understanding
with a player of that magnitude,
a cultural changer that anyone that has anything
that Michael Jordan wore when he was playing,
I understand the value of what it is now.
Oh, yeah.
Even I understand that.
So hearing 14 million,
hit $8 million for a game more than anything,
I get it.
I definitely get it, especially for him.
Because the cards, I mean, the Jordan card,
the show air tonny card, the Brady cards,
man, they're going three, four, five, six,
million dollars.
Hey, if you got a,
if you got,
Hey, Joe,
if anybody got like a rookie Brady,
a rookie Brady or maybe a rookie LeBron,
a one-a-one's cars like that
that are still in great condition,
man, listen,
you find what in them,
or you get one of them?
You can retire, boy.
Oh, yeah.
You can retire.
Or if you got,
what if you got a LeBron,
Kobe, and Jordan card?
You think they got one of them out there, Joe?
You mean, all three of them on one car?
All three of you all there.
I mean, what if it's,
hey, what if you got a sign,
though?
man listen you y'all know like man we'd be going these hotels okay oh cho i'm talking it don't
matter if we get in there three in the morning or three in the evening bro it's gonna be packed
outside the hotel people got you signing all type of stuff you know i mean hey bro this every every
hotel you go to so it's so much stuff right there these dudes out here selling bro yeah yeah uh hey joe
yeah there's a car it is it sign uh uh
Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, 2007, 8, Upper Deck, Special.
Yep.
Damn.
Kobe signed it.
Braun signed it.
Jordan signed it.
What's it worth?
I know they got the numbers.
They didn't say it's, and it's graded at a 10.
Oh, that, that, is it one of one or do they have multiple of them?
They got a couple of, they got a 2004 SP signature triple edition.
You can't buy it?
Who, by, what?
how much?
I know the chat, no.
How much would that car be worth?
The one with Jordan, Kobe, and all LeBron with signs.
I know they know how much is worth.
Ooh.
Hey, a pretty pill.
Because I think one of LeBron, Carl went for like $3, $5 million.
And he said, I got a couple of those.
I'm just, you know, in case something ever happened, you know,
I'm a break it out.
Emergency.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I think I did hear him say that, but I'm going to tell you out something.
I love MJ, bro.
I'm talking about Hugh.
And when hell, I'm paying that type of money for no damn car.
Oh, no.
No, no, no.
Hey.
To do what with it, Joe?
Do you hanging on your wall?
I mean, first of all, you can't even hang in your wall.
You got to put it in the ball.
Somebody steal that.
Oh, yeah.
Because I sent you that thing, Joe, remember I sent you that thing?
They got the comic books that's like a $30 million comic book, a $12 million
dollar baseball card.
Oh, timeout, time out, a $30 million comic book.
Oh, yeah.
That's Superman, Superman.
addition to first-ed-olding superman way way back oh okay okay okay okay okay okay because I
had what I was growing up guy kids used to collect comic books yeah and I had a buddy
of mine he got head-bad so many comic books I don't know if he got anything of value
but I he probably had 200 300 back then and yeah because comic books were cheap
back then comedy books yeah 40 50 cents now I'm thinking you're good yeah
Oh, yeah.
Hey, that's crazy.
Uh, the, uh, the rings, uh, the championship rings by the, uh, uh,
net designed by Jason of Beverly Hills, totaling 22 carers feature first of its kind,
a mechanism that raises a miniature Madison Square garden.
It even twisted open to reveals the, uh, the, uh, inside of the yard.
Guard, it's hard, bro.
I ain't going to even like to see.
They killed it with that one, boy.
Mm-hmm.
A, hey, did they, uh, did they look out for the old school cast,
unco?
Like the Pat Ewing's name.
Did any of them get you?
They probably will.
They probably will.
They probably will.
Yeah.
That was a move.
Probably, uh, uh, uh, starts, those guys.
They probably will.
They still, they got to reach out to O, too, man.
They got to, they got to reach out.
No, no, that didn't happen to Joe.
They got to reach out.
I wish you would, but that ain't happening.
Not only did the,
Knicks hang their NBA Cup banner.
They are the first NBA team to hang
a single season banner.
The Lakers and the bugs both designed
theirs to be added on
to. Hey man,
the Knicks proud of what they're done. They should
be. You should be. Yeah.
At the 53 years?
Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. That's a long
time. Everything we won there. Yeah,
we're putting up there. Yeah.
Hey, if the six of what you think, it's been 43
years since the sixers, they hadn't one since
83. It ain't like the six and
been rolling in championships the last four decades, they haven't.
And that's why Brown went there to bring them a championship
because he knows what he's going to do for him.
Yeah, I already know, I already know the play.
I've seen the play coming a long time ago, yeah.
Hey, Ocho, you might be honest.
We might need to give him some nightcap, some nightcap up in.
Hey, listen, listen, and what I'm talking about,
I'm talking about something sophisticated.
I'm not like we rappers, you know, something that represents us in the right way.
I think it'd be dope.
Yeah.
I mean, not too Godi, not too crazy.
You'd be like to spend money on jewelry.
You'd be like to spend money, Joe.
I said understated.
I'm like, I think about going to, you know,
going to the mall and have them design me something.
The mall?
Yeah, hey, you're a little booth in the ball, Joe?
They got the chains on the spoons.
While I was in high school, Uncle Ocho,
boy, I went to the middle of the mall,
Park Plaza Mall, and Little Rock.
They had the dime.
They had the little chain.
rope chain with the basketball who you know what I'm saying the ball was diamonds I mean
hell y'all know one real diamonds but I say there's some money boy to go to the middle of
mall and buy that chain you're me get one of them thing Joe boy what okay I'm not to see y'all
a picture man I'd send that picture so y'all can see it yeah yeah I like yeah oh Joe you try to go
out there you try to spend I know you what you say understated you ain't nothing about you
understated nah I'm the cheapest athlete of all time now you know that we don't say I don't
I don't saw that big old Cuban League.
I don't know, he wants them CZs.
He wanted them big boys on the,
Unk.
Hey, no, no, no, no.
You got, hey, that Cuban link stuff,
that's from high school.
That's old.
Hey, anybody had no damn Cuban for doing that in high school.
You know, you, you need no Cuban sandwich in high school.
You're talking about he got a Cuban.
Uncle, I'm from Miami.
Nobody had, hey, in the 90s,
they had them big, they had them big Cubans in the 90s like that.
They had them big, hey.
And the eight, they had them on Buckey roads
like LL KooJ and in Rio.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So Cuban links started out here.
We still wear them things, you know, especially where I'm from.
Hey, I don't want to talk about the past and how we used to get our Cuban links.
It wasn't nothing bad in just those folks that's in the street.
You know how, you know how much they, how serious they take football and sports.
And, well, if you do this, if you score this, if you catch this amount of touchdown, I get you.
Get you, get them saying?
Yeah.
That's how I got my first Cuban link with St. Lazarus on there.
Oh, yeah.
Hey.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, they had, I remember the big old, now, the biggest cube that I've seen is, uh, uh, Slick Rick.
Slick Rick got one of what you call them Buster.
You seen Buster?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Buster's, oh, yeah.
Yeah, Buster is different.
Bust is different.
Hey, them boys over there compete, though.
Yeah, yeah, Bust is different.
Hey, man, Bust.
Hey, that thing, too big, boy.
Yeah, but look, I don't have it.
Look, if I work hard to accomplish something just because you don't value it.
Because I think everybody wants to value.
Well, if this guy didn't value, you shouldn't value.
No.
Maybe it doesn't mean anything to him.
But when I put my hardworking to something and I'm able to accomplish it, it means something to me.
Hello.
And just because it doesn't mean something to you or means something to them, that doesn't mean I shouldn't cherish what I've been able to copy.
Man, man, you only went to, you only went to like two Pro Bowl.
That's two more, bro.
Two more than a lot of people went to.
Hello.
Yeah.
Hello.
I don't base my success
of what somebody else did.
Did I maximize my ability?
Did I get the most out of what that Shannon Sharp could do?
Yeah, there are a lot of guys
that are probably going to more pro bowl.
Gonzo,
Whitten,
Kelsey,
okay,
I'm cool with that.
Yeah.
But that,
don't,
don't try,
hey, man,
you ain't going to know
those little old eight.
Okay,
they're little to you.
They're little to you.
But they made a hell of a lot.
to be yeah right but now I thought look the the night of the electric I can just imagine
having gone through those ceremonies and have the banners drop you know you you play the next
season and then the first game they drop that batter you know you see Super Bowl champ yeah
man it's an unbelievable feeling the crowd is the collection going crazy I think as a player I think as a
player uncle Ocho I don't even really think it hit hit the players yet I don't really think
that's something you can really quite understand
until like so much time has passed by.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like it just seems so surreal, bro.
Like, I mean, New York is the mecca basketball.
You know what I mean?
And for the Knicks to be the champions, bro,
that means a lot for the game.
You know what I mean?
It helps the game, actually.
So kudos to those guys, bro.
See, the thing is with the Knicks in basketball,
you don't get them until open the night.
See, we get hours in like June.
Oh.
We went it in January, you know, January, February,
now it's February.
In June, late, late June, we have the ceremony, the players,
coaches and family, the immediate, everybody that's immediately involved with the team,
get their rings.
But bad, I can just imagine what, you know, Brunson's seeing that,
and cat and all those guys, all the, the hard work that you put in,
and now you achieve this.
This is the ultimate.
Yeah.
This is why you play.
Yeah, you want to make a lot of money.
Money and memories.
Yeah.
And you try to collect as many as both as you possibly came.
Yeah.
Hello.
Hello.
This is a memory that you can't even put a price on it.
You and they'll never forget this.
They'll never forget this.
Even when they sit on it and they got half a billion,
there's something about that championship ring because that's why you play.
And when you achieve that, that puts you in a very, very, very, very
elite company.
Oh yeah.
Oh, yeah.
The Pistons beat the Celtics, 121, the,
113. Detroit went on an insane 23-0 run in the fourth quarter to stun the Celtics.
They pulled off the largest comeback on the first day of the NBA season in the play-by-play era since
1997-98. Joe, what happened? What changed that it clicked for the pistons,
but all of a sudden, the Celtics couldn't do anything right.
man
uh-o-o we've seen the pistons fight back from being down all postseason this past
postseason you know what I mean this is an MO they'll get down by a lot but they
they're going to claw and scratch back in the game they're going to find a way they're
going to hang their head on defense they're going to start to get stops because Paul
George here he he's had he had a flashback tonight Paul George had he go away
hey I don't know who that was uh that was Paul George back in in Indie
Indiana what that that's that's playoff that
That's the way.
Hey, that's playoffee.
Hey, they just couldn't, they really, honestly, they couldn't get nothing from JT, bro.
Six for 20.
What's wrong with him, Joe?
Ocho, now, he's coming, he's still coming back from on Achilles now.
You know he-
No, no, no, no, we can't use that Achilles issue.
Hold up, hold up, Ocho.
Last year, he looked just fine when he came back last year now.
He stopped, remember he didn't play in the game seven against,
who was that, on, Philly?
Was that Philly?
Yes, yes.
Yeah, he didn't play in that game seven.
because of complications.
Today, he looked like,
he looked at a step slower.
He looked at a rhythm to me.
I ain't going to lie to you.
You know what I mean?
I thought, you know, he took a lot of tough shots, bro.
Yeah, he's not to me.
You're right.
He took a lot of tough shots.
Yeah, he took a lot of tough shots.
And look, it's a lot on the shoulders.
Okay, Ocho.
It's a lot on the shoulders, bro.
But he got plenty of help today.
They just, I mean, he just couldn't give him that.
Hey, hey, Joe.
He got a lot on the shoulders.
shoulder, but that's what he wanted, huh?
I mean, behind closed doors, that's what he wanted.
I mean, I'm, listen, I'm not, I'm not the one to be the bearer of bad news,
but if, if you, you got to carry the ship, man.
Hey, can I tell you y'all something though for real?
Take, take your time.
Take your time.
Mitchell Robinson ain't that guy.
Okay, Ocho.
Not to start, not to be your starting center.
He's great energy effort, guy off the bench, but to have to depend on him as a starting
center.
You're paying for something that he never was.
What you want him to be, he's never been that, Joe.
Right.
He's never been that.
And I think, look, I believe the Knicks, he's a better defender than Drummond.
But Drummond will give you more offensively.
Drummond's going to give you all those second chance.
Think about Drummond.
Drummond had a double double in the first half.
Drummond will upgrade, bro.
He'll upgrade.
Yes.
He'll upgrade.
But to ask Mitchell Robinson, I don't know what they're asking him.
They say, can you give us 10 and 12?
Because normally, because normally, yeah, because normally, because look, rubber needs to meet the role.
I'm filing him.
He's not playable in the fourth quarter.
He's not playable late in the ball game because I'm just going to file him
and send his answer to the free throw line.
18 minutes, 4.3 rebounds.
He did have two blocks.
He had two blocks in there.
But man, for your starting center, Boston going to struggle.
They need way more.
If they can't get more than that.
And I thought the thing if I thought JT forced some shots too.
Yeah, he going to have to look, his his, his offensive productivity.
If he don't give it, this one this was going to happen night in and night out.
He has to play well.
You remember how Kay had to play well last year in order for the defense is the win?
Yeah.
JT has the same thing now.
If he don't play well, it's going to be hard for Boston to win, bro.
But, but Joe, I thought tonight a lot of times Kay has to force shots because he wasn't
getting anything from other guys in the playoffs.
Right.
Paul George had it going tonight.
Yeah.
That's what you say, you know what,
hey, I don't have it going,
but my counterpart does.
Yeah.
Paul George, Paul George probably should have
about 40, 5, 50.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He had it going.
That boy was cooking, you're me?
You know, the good thing, no.
That man had 38 points on 20, on 21 shots.
And on the night, like tonight,
like tonight,
You gotta get 30 shots up, bro.
And you gotta have your teammates see that,
that you got, that you cooking,
that you got a good milk, man, oh man,
Paul George got some risuto going, man,
oh, he got steaks on the grill,
he got some scrimps, yeah, man.
Man, he got them Joe Stone Crabbs,
and them big old big cluster Joe.
He got them up, yeah, yeah.
You, you can't, man,
I got oatmeal over here, man, I'm cooking too.
Nah, bro, you messing it up.
Yeah.
I think, you know, the funny thing about it, though.
What's that?
When Jason Tatum does have games like this,
and he's shooting bad, six to 23, only having 13 points,
I think Derek White would be able to save him.
Ain't going to be no saving him.
I'm telling you, Pritchard to be able to save him.
Paul George will be able to save him.
I mean, not really save him in that sense,
but always keep them in the game.
Always give them the game.
Look, I love Jordan Walsh.
He's an ex-raiserback.
but when you got two guys in your lineup who ain't going to give you no offense no productivity
in today's game ohcho you're going to get your ass beat you're going to get beat you're going to get
beat bro yeah you need guys who can get you a bucket man hey jordan walsh that's the he'll small four he's about
six six six seven he he's playing the four yeah he can play every position you know he a hard
worker uh uh he a three and d guy yeah you know what i mean but here he ain't gonna get many opportunities
playing with these dudes paying pritchie you know payton gonna get his up he coming in cooking right
away huh yeah yeah yeah he ain't he ain't playing boston got cooked on the glass yeah yeah but the the probably
and you're right joe when you got two guys and you're starting line up and they give you
a combined full points you start from behind the thing but the celtics what they built this thing in
their mind, they got to get these threes up.
Yep.
That's not changing them, huh?
We talked about that last year.
We talked about it the year before that.
That's just the way they play.
That's their identity.
They won that battle tonight, but hell, you still lose the game.
You know what I mean?
Because sometimes, Joe, I think they force three.
I think they just get them up like, we got to get a quota in.
It's like, sometimes it's like, in parry, y'all know what I'm talking about.
They're like the police who say, well, they got a quarter, they got to get.
They just dropping everybody.
Oh, yeah.
All yeah.
You, I'm like, bro, you just because, this ain't a good shot.
Right.
I understand it's three, you make the shot, you get three points,
you make a shot closer, it's two points.
I get all of that.
I do get the numbers behind it, but that's not a good shot.
No, it's not a good shot.
When you come down to court and you one pass and the shot go right up here,
we ain't, we ain't eat none of the shot clock or nothing.
Those are tough.
shots. Now if you make them coach, hey, good job. But hell, if you're missing, but hey,
we're in trouble because a lot of times it's starting to run out the other way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
So you're right. But they live and die. They live and die with their three-point shot.
You know, it's hurt them too. It's hurt them. And you know who I paid it into tonight.
Since we talked about it, you know, we were complaining. You know, I wouldn't, I wouldn't
complaining just the conversation and dialogue about him complaining about the 200 million i watched
jalen during the night jaylon jaylan jane during during yeah during yeah yeah a young bull nice joe yeah
and he real aggressive down there down in that post in that low block man he gonna get to it now oh joe
i like we never questioned his 20 and 10 in the regular season only in the moments in the playoff
moments bro when they needed him the most yeah yeah that's the only thing we can that's
only thing we question you know what I mean yeah we expect this from him during the regular
season see in the regular season yeah we know our opponents we game playing for you but it ain't
like in extensive the game don't slow down they up and down in the regular season you know what
I'm saying yeah post season it's a half-court game there you go and I mean and I guess what I got you
for I got you for seven games if necessary yeah yeah I know what you're going to do you know by the
second game I already know what you do I know all your sets you know all my sense now
Now it comes down to X.
Who's better?
Right.
That's what I want to know.
Who's better?
And your will against my will.
Period.
Point blank.
But yeah, he's a hell of a player, bro.
I ain't never taken that from him.
You know, I know we criticize his contract.
And, you know, he was probably trying to get 250 or 270,
whatever the case may be.
278, 278.
But man, young man, he did the right thing.
He signed that contract.
He's going to be right back up.
He keep putting up numbers like this, 99.
Three years.
right back at the table, Ocho, for 300.
Ew.
And that money guaranteed.
Yeah, it is.
PG 38 points, five rebounds, five steals, 12 or 21 from the field,
seven of eight from the free throw line, seven or 12 from the three point line.
Jason Tatum was held only 13 points on six of 23, shooting O of seven from the three.
After the game, head coach J.B. Bickerstap credited Assore Thompson for slowing down JT.
Assore Thompson, that's simple.
You get him in a one-on-one situation,
and it's going to be for a long night,
no matter who you are.
Hey, that boy, nice, boy.
They paid him.
They paid him $150.
What do he got, $150 something?
His brother got $200 and something, right?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Thompson, nice.
They're going to do everything, man.
You're going to do all that dirty work.
All I've said is, hey, if I'm him,
not saying it doesn't work, but he's such a,
it just seemed like it comes natural to him.
that he can slide, that he can get a position.
He has really active hands.
Joe, I'm working on my shot.
I ain't going to lie to you.
I'm working on my shot.
Because, boy, if he ever develop a shot,
because guess what,
oh, you, hey, not only if he developed one,
but he need to develop one,
because guess what, in the playoffs,
that ball going to find him.
It's going to find him.
Yeah.
If I'm not opposing teams.
Yeah, because if I'm the opposing team,
that's the one guy, I'm going to leave out there,
and I'm going to make him shoot.
And guess what, Ocho,
until he make at least two.
them, hell, we're going to let him keep shooting, okay?
Yeah. Yeah. And he ain't got no confidence shooting, but listen,
defensively, if he can take the other team's best player out the game like he did
JT tonight, yeah. Damn, that offense you got going, son.
Hey, listen, he can't, hey, God, God ain't give him everything, huh?
Hey, hey, hey, you put him on, you put him on your best officer player, he going to shut him
down. There's a reason why JT looked the way he looked tonight. If he can do that to every
team best player.
I really ain't worried about him being able to shoot.
I get them points elsewhere.
And, hey, that young up, I almost said, excuse me, I'm sorry.
But brother Duncan Robinson, ooh.
Got a clip, don't it?
Hey, Joe, swing that thing, Joe.
Swing that thing.
Where that Duncan Robinson can shoot, what?
Hey, Ojo.
Y'all, hey, the thing is, would he get hot or he's hot?
But when that joke was cold, you got to take him out the game.
You got to take his hand out the game.
You got to because he can't play D.
He can't guard.
He can't defeat.
The only way I can play him is if he's making shots.
That's it.
Because the guy that he's guarding, going to cook on the other end.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got, hey, listen, his offense, his shot making is his defense.
If he's cooking like today, yeah, you want him in.
Because guess what?
He's going to keep the floor space for K's so he'll be able to operate and work.
Yep.
And create offense for himself and those other guys.
but, boy, if he ain't making shots,
you got to take him out.
He got to come out the game, Mojo.
He can't play.
Yeah.
Yeah, Cade had 22 and 4 and 8.
Seward was 11 and 11.
Jalen Durran, he only took 13 shots.
He had 22 and 9.
They crushed the Celtics on the board.
That's what they're going to do, though.
Got great production up the bench.
They got 25, 28, 36.
They got 39 from the bench.
Mm-hmm.
I can live with that.
Oh, yeah.
that Devante Green kid came in.
He didn't even play in the first half on Canocho.
He came in and got 19 points in the second half.
Yeah.
Detroit said they ready, man.
Detroit said they ready to get back to the, you know,
everybody in the council in the mouth talking about the eastern got thick
and, yeah, I don't think we're going to be at the top of the east no more.
They said they got something for y'all.
Hey, well, listen, we talk about all these teams coming out of the East.
We talk about the Celtics.
You know, we talk about the Pistons.
Yeah.
Y'all tripping.
We talk about Philly.
We talk about the Knicks, huh?
The best team in the East play tomorrow, boy.
What are we talking about?
Matter of fact, hey, we need to have another show tomorrow.
I don't want the day off.
Hey, you hear me?
Hey, I don't want the day off.
Hey, Joe, hey, I'm going to the game.
I got my feet on the wood.
Yeah.
Hey, you know, I had my guy to get my tickets, right?
Yeah.
I got my corset right next to the bench.
But not court, baseline where the bench is right there and I can talk trash.
Huh?
Yeah.
I want the emergency show tomorrow after the heat dismantled the wolves.
I'm going to the, I'm going to game three tomorrow.
The dream versus Valkyries.
Oh, that's going to be a good one.
The final, yeah.
That's going to be a good one.
That's going to be a good one.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.

Michael Lewis here to tell you about my new book, Blockers, which gives you an inside look at the
Trump administration and the public servants who stood in its way. These were people who were
securing our most sensitive data, keeping the public safety.
from all sorts of threats and engaged in life-saving scientific research,
until they were told they no longer belonged.
And the question to me is,
if they can't survive in our government,
then what does it say about us?
