thank you enough for your patience so thank you very much ocho let's get right into it ryan garcia
pulls off a huge upset over the wbc super lightweight champion devin haney knocked him
down three times when haney had never touched had never touched the canvas and won the victory by a
majority decision garcia was ineligible to win the title for missing weight.
He was three pounds over the 140 limit,
which is a light hip, which is a lightweight.
And Garcia really should have ended the fight in the first round.
Ocho.
Yeah.
If Garcia took this thing serious,
because you can tell he doesn't take it serious.
He came in overweight.
He drank at the weigh-in. If he doesn't take it serious. He came in overweight. He drank at the weigh-in.
If he were to take it serious, I think he has the tools to be really, I'm talking about special.
He's good.
I think he already is special.
But he could be special.
But there's something about Garcia that you can't teach, and that's speed.
That's quickness.
There's something that he has in his hands that he relates to power because
he's so quick obviously catching yeah catching catching hanging a few times and knocking him
down and we know what i think ryan garcia did i think he fooled everybody i think what he did
all the antics all the what i identify as and you know the protesting and the speaking out and what was going on instead of
actually poking folks just
to not only sell the fight
but get people thinking that he wasn't taking
the fight serious because the first thing you said
I
he came in overweight
he couldn't win the title
what you mean you make people think he wasn't taking
it serious once you saw him step his ass
on the scale you knew he didn't take it serious.
What he said about not making weight is he was happy to be fighting at his natural weight as opposed to dehydrating and being weaker going into the fight.
Yes, sir.
Let me ask you a question.
At lightweight, what's the weight?
They didn't agree to fight at a catch weight they agreed to fight at the light weight the limit is 140 143 yeah okay he came in three pounds overweight so
so how are we supposed to say he took the fight serious yeah he's drinking beer
and i'm not saying i'm not saying i i saying, I don't know how to put it on.
I don't know how to put it.
But what I witnessed tonight was, I think, someone that was fooling us with all the antics he was doing.
Now, coming in overweight, that you can say, you know what, you're not taking this fight serious because you came in three pounds overweight.
And now you don't have a shot at winning a belt or the title. But then when you see him get in the ring and perform the way he performed the night.
That's that's taking it serious because I'm not trying to be funny.
I'm not trying to be funny. People in the chat might agree with me. Some of them might not.
They are familiar with each other because they fought in the amateurs.
So they know each other very well obviously throughout the years everyone has has developed
skill have gotten much better at their craft as far as the beauty as far as the sweet science
is concerned but tonight it felt like i'm not saying devin haney was this this unbelievable
boxer that's out this world he was undefeated he was good at what he did but when i saw him when i
saw him go down that first time, it didn't look right.
It didn't look right.
It just didn't feel right. I'm not saying
he's Mike Tyson, but when Buster Douglas
knocked Mike Tyson down,
you know
I'm trying to say, just the feeling. It didn't
look right because I've never seen
it before. When Antonio Tarver
knocked Roy Jones down or knocked
him out, it just didn't look right
because we're not used to seeing those individuals in those type of circumstances if that makes sense
oh Joe but you don't you look at Devin Haney like an elite level like I don't I don't seem like that
but he's undefeated unc he's undefeated at what he at every he's he's not look at the people he's for look at the people he's for I don't I'm that's why I was scared to say this I'm not saying he's Uncomfortable. for what he's done to this point in his career. That's all. That's all I'm saying. So it just looked weird seeing him go down.
You can
respect
the fighter for his resume
and still say there's
questions. I still have questions.
You had no questions about Roy Jones.
You had no questions about Mike Tyson.
You had no questions about Shane
Mosley before he lost to Vernon Forrest.
You had no questions about these guys that had unblemished records.
Right.
So when I look at Devin Haney, I see a guy with a suspect chin.
He doesn't have power.
So now, because you see Garcia, that fight should have been over.
If that's anybody else, that fight's over.
But also, you got to be careful.
I think Garcia didn't want to punch himself out.
You don't want to punch yourself out
in the first round.
But he already did punch himself.
You know why?
Because he's not...
How you punch yourself?
Brought you 143.
That's what heavyweights do.
They measure their punches.
A lot of...
Oh, yeah.
If that had been Pacquiao,
he'd have been out of there.
Also, you're going to say,
if that had been Mayweather,
he'd have been out of there.
Is a volume puncher.
Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia aren't volume punchers.
They're not used to throwing that many punches around.
So you do have to gauge yourself a little bit based on what your true fighting style is, if that makes sense.
Remember Paul Williams?
Remember Paul Williams?
Guess what?
Paul Williams is a volume puncher. remember paul williams yes paul williams guess what man paul wait now yeah
man it's only a few it's only a few there's only a few fighters that could do that yeah tall six
four yeah you got but you gotta you gotta condition yourself to do it yeah conditioning
right now.
As you go up and wait,
guys don't really throw punches like that because it takes a lot more oxygen
to be able to put those heavyweights throw 20 punches around and stuff.
And most of their punches are measured,
but the lower guys,
because you know,
they,
they throw in 115,
they throw,
you know,
they throw in 70,
80,
a hundred punches in a round because
their condition and it doesn't right it doesn't take as much much oxygen to fuel their body but
if ryan garcia yeah oh you had a chance to win it coming in with the right weight you could have
left with the bell yeah yes and you had to give up a 1.5 million because you had to pay 500,000 for every pound you're
overweight so that cuts into your purse all i'm saying is that if you're going to take the craft
serious take it serious you want to say you want to be a champion right you want to be thought of
as these great mexican fighters de la joya de la joya is the golden boy for a reason he won gold
in barcelona in the 92 o. He's from East Los Angeles.
When you think of Mexican fighters,
you think of tough, you think of condition.
That's not Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia's not
conditioned.
You've got to take this crowd serious.
Or, if you can't make
way to 140, take care of the 147.
But they got the real thumpers up there.
We don't want to do that. They got the real thumpers up there. We don't want to do that.
They got the real thumpers up there.
Yeah, I mean, 147.
I mean, it would be very dangerous, very, very dangerous for Ryan.
But obviously, at 140, would he display the night, man, with that jab, with that left hook, that magical.
Oh, man.
That's his punt.
Ocho. What's your favorite route oh joe if i know oh your favorite route is a shake or a stutter go i'm gonna go out again you know his budget
but you can't you can't see it you can't see speed that's like that's like wait hold on you
know what that's like tyree killer's plan right And you know he about to go deep as a DB.
You already know he going deep.
And every time they hike the ball, what Tua do?
Hit Tyreek deep.
And you knew it was coming.
Some things you just can't stop.
Randy Moss, he line up.
The DB 10 yards off.
The DB coach tell the DB, you know what?
Go ahead and go back a little bit.
You know he going deep. Randy come off the ball slow as hell he throw his hand up at five yards you still got a five
yard cushion they let the ball go randy still randy still go even if you know what's coming
he's still catching me with it that means that left hand and that left hook is magical it's
special and there's something in
boxing there's something every sport you can't teach you can't teach speed and you can't you
can't teach quickness you can't that's that's god given okay i might okay let's just say for
the sake of argument ocho it's 30 seconds in the clock. We up by six. And Randy Moss,
are you getting beat deep?
No. Nothing cheap, nothing
deep. We understand
early. But you know that
in boxing, it's a little different than getting beat deep
because you know he's a one. He's done
Deontay Wilder. Why can't Deontay
Wilder win fights anymore? Because everybody
knows he's trying to load up for that one punch
the right hand. Once they neutralize the right
hand, he's fighting one hand behind his back
because he's really not doing anything else.
He's not shooting the jab
to sit up to the right hand. He's just
looking. He's just circling. Look at the right
one big punch. He's not
Lennox Lewis. He's
not Vladimir Kilichko. He's not
one of these Ernie Shavers guys. Larry
Holmes, who used the jab.
Boom. Boom.
They're using it
to do this.
Yes! So that's all I'm saying.
Listen, give Ryan
Garcia credit.
But, bro, you overweight.
You overweight.
You overweight.
Now, I understand when you fall fall drink take head of this contract
bring your ass in the weight and you not and you not gonna rehydrate up to 150
but ryan won the fight but what are we supposed to do are we supposed to say oh ryan won the fight
yeah he won the fight he came in in overweight. I still don't believe
he took it serious because his conditioning.
A guy that size shouldn't have to fight
in spurts. How is Ryan Garcia?
In his early 20s?
Yeah, I mean, I think
Marshall being cautious,
being cautious,
understanding what happened last time when he fought.
Listen,
listen to what happened when he fought Tank.
Going in there, rushing in there, being aggressive,
and he was susceptible to the counter.
And he got countered and couldn't get back up.
So I think your approach is probably a little different.
I'm going to take it a little cautious.
I'm going to pick and choose when to take my shots.
Yeah.
Like Duran, when Duran beat Sugar Ray, we was in shock we were in shock i remember that fight we
were in shock when guys like when we look at when we look at fighters like a tyson like like all
like some of the guys that have lost obviously mayweather never lost but when we look at roy
jones when uh uh um antonio tarver caught. And we look at when Vernon Forrest
not beat Shane once,
beat him twice. We like,
God dang!
I'm not
surprised.
Are you surprised?
I'm going to be honest with you.
I really thought
Haney was going to win the fight.
I really thought. I'm not going to say a lie to you. win the fight. I really thought.
I'm not going to say a lot to you.
I thought, forget the weight.
I wasn't even worried about Ryan missing weight.
I was thinking about all the antics he was pulling leading up to the fight.
Like, are you in camp?
Are you really training?
All the stuff on camera.
And I identify as a woman.
What?
Yeah.
I thought he was just trying to sell the fight. I? Yeah. I thought he was just
trying to sell the fight.
I thought it was going
to be a close fight.
And then let me tell you
what swung me to Haney
is that when he showed up
overweight.
I was like, man,
he ain't taking it serious.
That's what swung me
towards really like,
I was like, man,
this thing can go 50-50.
I'm like, uh.
Now, it wasn't like
when he fought Tank. I was like, hey, nah, it wasn't like when he fought Tank.
I'm like,
hey,
if I'm betting on this fight,
I'm putting all my money on Tank.
But in Devin Haney,
I'm looking at like,
I just saw Haney as,
to me,
as a better,
purer boxer.
Obviously,
you know,
he's sharp,
even though a lot of people say
he doesn't have power,
he's sharp.
He counters very well.
His ring IQ is solid. Right. It's nice. Even though a lot of people say he doesn't have power, he's sharp. He counters very well. His ring IQ is solid.
It's nice.
And, you know, I'm not going to call him a one-trick pony, but Ryan Garcia just has, obviously, the quickness and the speed.
And that got him.
That got him.
He got great hand speed.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
That got him.
And he set it up.
So he caught him with the jab and blinded him and came right back with it.
And he didn't even see it coming.
But if you look at the first time, what did he do?
If you remember the fight with Masvidal and Usman.
Usman had his hand.
Usman, boom.
Ryan Garcia did the same thing.
Tap over the top of it.
What he should have done.
Because you remember that
Brian Garcia started turning his back
and ducking.
Now you got to step around.
Stop hitting me in the back.
Step around and come with your hook.
Brian Garcia trying to do the Philly Shell.
It ain't look right.
It don't look right.
He's not doing it the right way.
No, no, no, no, no.
You got, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No, yeah.
Ain't a whole lot of fighters
with the first guy he was nice with it listen sweet p whittaker look did the philly shell to
perfection obviously mayweather does the philly shell to perfection and drawn in is when he wants
to go in the shell and fight and fight off of that defensively or offensively but i mean three
that mean others can do it i mean accepts you well and understanding you're doing it for a specific reason ryan was just doing it just to
do it and really not really not throwing back right no no no the difference between the guys
that you mentioned they didn't have the offensive arsenal that floyd has floyd can be a defensive
fighter bam and at the same time, pull, bam.
Everything you throw, he can
count over the top. His reflexes,
his eyes,
his ability to see punches.
Anticipate what's coming every time.
It's second to none.
Oh, you throw the hook?
Well, you're going to miss me with your hook and I'm going to catch you with mine.
Oh, you're going to throw
the right? I'm going to pull and I'm going to boom. I'm going gonna catch you with mine oh you're gonna throw you're gonna throw it right yeah i'm a i you i'm a pool and i'm a boom i'm gonna catch you with mine his ability
to see the punches are unbelievable but ryan garcia pulls off the huge upset he had he made
weight he's been the new wbc super lightweight champion he beat devin haney i want to hear the
scorecards because you know normally they read you the scorecards on a majority
decision. That means somebody
somebody. That's impossible. That's
impossible. I mean, you
have to be a blind man to say anything
because Devin Haney has to get knocked
down three times. Hold on.
It's only three judges.
For you to have a majority decision
and not a unanimous decision.
That means somebody or it was a draw.
You know what's funny?
Don't you still want to know the story?
Don't you want to know the story?
Looking at the ref, I was a little perplexed looking at the ref.
It looked like the ref was trying to help Haney out a little bit.
Now, I might be wrong.
I might be tripping.
But there were three knockdowns.
To me, it might have been four or five.
I don't know what the rep was
doing i don't know what he was looking at his leg i mean hey hey look when he clip hating first of
all it takes a special type of person to get clipped and still come forward and he came
take a minute to get yourself together too so you gotta you gotta hold on yeah
but here's the thing to ocho he felt that power yeah he never felt power like that before
so now all of a sudden i got a tread very cautious now it's preventing me from in between my punches because he might catch me slipping yeah but see the problem that he had is that he kept slipping and dodging the same thing
yeah and at some point in time they're gonna time you up you mean uh uh marco antonio barrera
no that was who he thought and pacquiao kept ducking low when he fought Pacquiao Pacquiao
if you notice
every time Pacquiao
he like to do
same rhythm
he catch the rhythm
he catch the rhythm
of your movement
yeah
yes
yes
yes
another guy
Shane Mosley
Shane Mosley does his hands
like this before he throws a punch
if you watch him
he always does this
timing these let me look here and so like to a natural person like this before he throws a punch. If you watch him, he always does this.
Timing.
Look here. And so, like, to a natural person, unless you, like,
you be around fighters
and you be around trainers
and they talk you through
what he's doing and why
he's doing it. You have a better
appreciation. Listen, the little small nuances
that the average person
can't see, that high the average person can see, that
high ring IQ
fighters can see, dude,
that is nothing but a chess match. I'm sure
casual fans think, oh, they just
in their thorn punch.
They done pulled their hand back. By the time you see it,
don't show your hand. It's different.
It's a different ballgame in there.
People think, oh, they just in their thorn punches.
Everything is calculated.
Everything is calculated. Everything is calculated.
Everything.
Everything.
Oh, yeah.
Now, sometimes they gather
the information.
They want to see
what you want to do.
They gather information.
Floyd make with me.
Yeah.
Floyd said he doesn't
watch his opponent.
He trusts his trainers
to watch the fighters
and give him info, give him feedback. He said he don't watch his opponent. He trusts his trainers to watch the fighters and give him info, give him feedback.
He said he don't watch the fights.
So now, but give Ryan Garcia credit, but I wish he took it serious.
I wish he take it serious.
Get the belts.
Because, look, you need belts.
Because, I mean, what are you fighting for?
You want a legacy.
You can't have no legacy without no belts, Hocho. I don't give a damn. Oh, he don't want no belts. Bullseye. Why are you fighting for? You want a legacy. You can't have no legacy without no belts. So I'll give a damn.
Oh, he don't want no belts.
Bull John, why are you getting this?
Why you if you do this, if you're a boxer, if you're an MMA, it's all about the titles.
Yes, you want to win.
But the titles give you more money. That's what, that's,
you gotta,
you get more money
when you have a title
or when you have titles.
You think Floyd Mayweather
would be thought of
if Floyd didn't have no belts.
We would look at Floyd
the same way.
We would look at Sugar Ray.
We would look at Duran.
We would look at Roy Jones.
We'd look at any of the greats
if they ain't got no belts.
I mean,
the belts, obviously, is what commands the money. Come on, they ain't got no belts. The belt's obviously what commands
the money.
Come on, man.
It's what commands the money.
But I mean, they got to fight.
And now, you got to fight on that.
Now, you fight on my terms.
Mayweather said, no, I ain't going nowhere.
If you want to fight me, you come into Vegas.
I ain't getting on no plane. Think about it.
If I'm not mistaken, I think once he fought
Arturo Gatti in Atlanta. I don't getting on no plane. Think about it. If I'm not mistaken, I think once he fought Arturo Gatti
in Atlanta City,
I don't think he left.
I don't think he left Vegas after that.
Roy Jones.
I remember Roy Jones.
I was talking to Roy
and Roy had like six or seven belts.
And I think somebody with a Calzaghe
had one belt.
Somebody had like one belt,
but he wanted him to take his six or seven belts and come overseas to fight him for the one belt. Somebody had like one belt, but he wanted him to take his six or seven belt and come overseas
to fight him for the one belt.
What the hell?
Oh, no. So y'all get me over there
and pin whip me? Oh, absolutely.
I mean, obviously they have a rematch coming, right?
Absolutely not.
I mean,
do you really want to see a rematch, Ocho?
We got to give him a rematch.
I mean, Ocho, sometimes.
Ocho.
I know Ryan Garcia.
Ocho, sometimes somebody whip you.
He going to say,
no, I don't want to fight Devin Haney.
I want,
I want a rematch with Tank.
Oh, that's right.
Tank at 135.
He don't want to go down to 135.
But I don't believe he can beat Tank at one point
who's next for
Garcia to fight then
Shakur
Shakur
what
I don't think he don't want none of that
that's a different ball game
he does not want to fight Shakur that's a different ball game. Yeah. He does not want to fight Shakur.
That's a different ball game.
But because here's the thing.
And when we talk,
remember we talked about this the other night with Mayweather.
Mayweather really never had to lose,
but like walk around.
He's walking around weight.
Right.
Yeah. He's like 152 walk around so he go down to
147 he's great
he fighting at 154
he's at 152 so he's
having to eat a lot of calories
just to get to the 54 at what middle
junior middleweight
so
but when you want to eat big guys
and you got to come all the way down you walking around at 165
and got to come down to one to 140 yeah you're gonna be drained and if they put a clause in there
that won't let you uh uh over refuel yeah you're gonna be depleted oh that was good tonight man
it was just weird seeing haney go down, man.
It was weird seeing him go down.
And I hate the comparison.
I know people are going to make fun of me saying,
why are you comparing him to Mike Tyson?
Why are you comparing him to Roy?
I'm just saying the moment,
the moment of just seeing him go down
after never seeing him to go down like that
and actually get hit like that.
I've never seen him take that kind of punishment.
It just looked weird.
Right.
Yeah.
Hold on.
112, okay. 112.
One judge had it a draw.
112, 112.
Yeah. Because that's how you get a...
That's the only way you can get a majority decision.
Or else it would have been UD. It would have been
a unanimous decision. So because it was
unanimous, I knew somebody either had it a draw or had.
You see, you see how he win it.
That's the only way you get a majority decision.
Now I see why the ref was doing what he was doing.
I mean, I'm going to help you out.
I'm going to help you out as much as possible.
There was only so much he could do, though.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
One judge had to fight 112-112.
But Ryan Garcia beats Devin Haney.
He does not get the belt because he didn't make weight.
He ends up having to give Devin Haney $1.5 million because he bet that every pound he was overweight, he'd give him $500,000.
I don't know if that was just gamesmanship or what.
He ain't giving up.
No, you don't want my ass. Pay me my moneymanship or what? He ain't giving up. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Time out, time out, time out.
Speaking of paying money.
Right.
You owe me $500 now.
I ain't know what happened.
What happened?
Hey, listen, money out of psych can cause a fight.
Now, you made a bet.
Chat, please remind him about his bet.
You said the Bulls was going to beat the Heat.
Go get... Yeah. Go get...
Yeah.
Go get your money from Zach Wilson.
What happened?
Yeah, the what I mean.
I don't understand what you mean.
You...
I don't know what...
You don't speak English, huh?
You don't...
You don't speak English. You don't speak English, huh? You don't speak English.
You don't speak Ebonics.
You don't speak slang.
You don't speak hood. What does that person have to do with the bet that we just made last weekend?
And you said the Bulls is going to be the Heat.
The money that we bet.
Zach Wilson not turning the ball over.
Zach Wilson doing this.
I don't know.
Chad, pull it up.
Oh, now you were
niggering on your best.
OK, OK.
No, I don't really know.
We get it back.
I get it back.
You even though
even though you
pay me my money.
I don't remember how much
was it?
I'm just saying
I'm sure it was a hundred dollars.
We'll pull it. We'll find it. $100 we'll find it hey Chad find it
you sure I bet on Zach Wilson
that's my guy
I don't recall making any bets during football season
yeah
yeah
oh and that Kadarius Tony
remember Kadarius Tony wasn't going to have no more drops?
Oh, I bet he won't. Not only did he have a drop, next game.
No, we didn't. We didn't bet on it. I just said.
Oh, yes, we battled that. Oh, absolutely. Oh, absolutely. Oh, absolutely.
Kadarius Tony from Florida. You see, that's how I get you. I know you're going to bet all things, Florida.
Nah, I don't.
You can't help it.
Nah, I don't.
I'm just being honest.
Yeah.
Chad, y'all better tell it.
Huh?
It was 200 for Tony.
How much for Zach Wilson?
I think it was another 200.
I need that 100.
There you go, 400.
So I owe you 100.
Huh. I'll tell you what I'm going to do. There you go, $400. So I owe you $100. Huh.
I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
How about this, Ocho?
Can you put that $100 on a running account?
If I don't run up and pay you, don't you run your ass up and ask me for it.
Hell no.
Hey, that's a good one.
That's a good one.

Alright, Uncle Joe, check this out.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers 114-103.
The Lakers three-point shooting tonight.
LeBron James was three of five, 60%.
The rest of the team was five of 24, 20%.
Woo, Nikola Jokic was Nikola Jokic,
and he's going to show you why he's going to be the MVP.
32 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists,
zero turnovers on 15 of 23 shooting,
and it's the Nuggets' fifth straight win over the Lakers.
Playoff win over the Lakers.
Jokic and Murray combined for 17 assists and no turnovers.
Jamal Murray has the highest increase in points per game all time in the regular season the post
season a plus seven and a half yo uh Jamal Murray he at his career average is 17.5 in the post
season is 25 Nikola Jokic normally averages 20.9 but he averages 27.5 in the regular season yes sir
oh so I'm watching this game and the game to the half, and you can go check my tweet.
I knew the Lakers were in trouble because Anthony Davis and LeBron James
are having the game of their lives.
They're 14-21 at the half, combined shooting.
LeBron is 3-3 from the three-point line.
Oh, yeah.
And they're up three points.
Yeah.
So your big guns are going up.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Yeah.
And you're up three.
They can't play
any better.
And Gil and I was on.
We got to make it a three on three.
You got to make it a D-low,
a Rui, and an
Austin Reeves versus Aaron Gordon.
Yeah.
Uh,
Michael Porter,
Jr.
And KCP.
If you go look at the box score tonight,
there are three.
We need outplayed out three.
And that's,
that's the only way because LeBron James and ad got a cancel.
My ad had,
I think ad had what?
34,
15 and like six or seven assists
let me pull up
right here
because AD
held it on I was very
very excited
watching AD play he played
extremely well I don't like look
I understand the Lakers like hey
we don't want AD. We need AD.
But at some point in time,
you can't give Yoke
the exact same look all the time
and have Rui on him.
AD had...
AD was 32-14-5
with four blocks.
LeBron was 27-8
with one block, one steal,
and six rebounds. So one block, one steal, and 6 rebounds.
So 27 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds.
He was really, really careless with the basketball.
He had 7 of their 12 turnovers.
So Yoke had 32 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists,
and Jamar Murray had 22 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds.
So the big two for both teams, they
canceled each other out. Let's just say they canceled
each other out. But
Austin Reeves had 13. D-Lo
had 13, but he was one for nine.
He was shooting bad from three.
He was shooting bad.
He had 13 points on 20 shots.
Rui didn't play bad. Rui just didn't get enough shots. Rui, Rui, Rui didn't play bad.
Rui just didn't get enough shots.
Rui got to shoot the ball more.
He had four shots.
Four shot attempts.
And you got KCP had 12 points.
You got Aaron Gordon had 12 points
with 11 rebounds.
And you had Michael Porter Jr.
I think D'Angelo probably won't have
another game like that.
I think as a shooter,
you keep on shooting, but obviously you
have to know when to stop.
If you want for nine from
three and it's not falling, then obviously you
need to change to the mid-range game and start
trying to drive to the basket and create fouls
and maybe get to the line a little bit and get your points
that way and try to find yourself
in a rhythm as far as shooting the ball
is concerned. When I think about it, Austin Reeves has to has to play better.
I mean, as well. And you said, Rui, Rui, does Rui have the green light to be able to take the amount of shots you think he should?
That that's the whole thing. Certain people are reluctant to just go out there and just shoot just to be shooting.
More so shooting when they're actually open. does he have the green light to do that
he has the ability to shoot more than four thousand but you know what i mean you know
what i mean you know what i mean though right there's certain players that have the green light
to shoot it will probably 20 shots probably no prop 20 shots probably no but a lot of his shots
a lot of his shots are coming their guys are feeding him okay i mean uh yeah he gets the mismatch yeah he can post up a jamal
murray he gets a kcp or he gets a smaller guy yeah he can vote but more times than not it's
off a feed uh something like that i don't know if it really plays a factor obviously when you
play in denver what when it comes to football, outside altitude.
But would you be indoors?
Do you think altitude played any type of factor for the Lakers at all?
But you're indoors.
I'm not sure how that works.
No, no, no.
It's still 5,280 feet above sea level.
So it is still a mile high. I just think the thing is, obviously, the pressure is the playoffs.
So there's a different type of anxiety to it.
And you know when you're pumped up, your heart beats a little faster.
You get tired more rapidly, quicker.
So it's...
I just don't know.
This is the fifth time I've watched him in the playoffs.
I'm just not so sure
because
I think there's a greater chance D'Lo
has another game like he had tonight
as opposed to Murray
having another game like he had.
Murray was 9-24.
What's the likelihood of him going
down to 24 games every yo's gonna be yo yo's gonna do what he does but see my problem is with
ham is that he's giving him a steady diet of the same thing okay rule you got him for about five
or six plays okay uh uh uh ad you got him five or six trips down a court. LeBron, if you give any great player a steady diet of anything,
it's like a human getting a steady diet of antibiotics.
It's going to build up a resistance to it.
And then all of a sudden it's going to be no good.
And you see what happens.
He started getting into his rhythm.
And now you got your hands full.
Now you at his mercy because he's stronger than you think.
He doesn't have muscle tone.
He's not carved like a
Carmelo or Dwight Howard
or Ben Wallace. But
look when he puts that shoulder in people's
chest, how he dislodges them
from that spot. It doesn't
matter if it's Roy, if it's
AD, if it's LeBron
and LeBron ain't no small man and
he's not a weak man,
but he moved him like it's nothing.
And you know,
you're reluctant because he's such a great pass.
He's seven foot tall and he's going to be able to beam the ball craft cross
court,
define Michael Porter jr.
Or KCP or one of those shooters spotting up,
but you got to roll your dot.
You got to roll.
So who do you trust?
KCP.
I think KCP made all his,
all his threes in the third.
Cause he,
he was,
he was,
he wasn't very good in the first half.
And then the second,
they broke,
broke the game open.
But if you watch this game closely,
if you notice something about the nugget,
when they go on their runs,
they don't let you off the hook by turning the ball over.
Like the Lakers did see the Lakers got on run.
And all of a sudden they start turning the ball over like the Lakers did. See, the Lakers got on a run, and all of a sudden,
they start turning the ball over.
And so what was a 10 or 11, 12-point lead
that possibly could have got to 16, 17, maybe even 18,
now they turn the ball over like three times in a row,
and a 12-point lead all of a sudden is down to five.
Remember what we talked about in the Super Bowl.
Ocho, when you get the momentum, how much separation can you
put?
Because like you said, you know NBA teams, they're going to go on the run too.
So you just want it to be, because think about it.
They were down.
They went from down one to up 14.
Like that.
That's what the Nuggets did to the Lakers.
Just like that.
But I don't know.
I just don't know.
I've seen AD the first game last year have a monster game, and they lost.
LeBron, the last game when they got swept, he had 40, and they lost.
LeBron and AD played well together, and they lost.
The supporting cast has to play better.
D-Lo has to play better.
Austin Reeves has to play better.
And Rui and some of the other supporting cast and players coming off the bench,
somebody got to give them the confidence or the green light.
It's okay to shoot the ball.
It's okay.
You got to pull it.
You got to pull it.
Because, listen, it was a seven-game series, right?
You're already down one.
Just let it go.
Yeah.
They have 30 home.
I mean, the series doesn't start until somebody wins on
the opposing team's court but the problem is is that he's a good offensive player yeah but he's
his foot right he is because you know they're gonna put you in the pick and roll and you gotta
fight hard and you know it's it's just murray i mean murray ain't no easy task but when you in the
western conference ain't none of the guards in the west easy task because you got shay and you got
steph and you got uh d fox and you got luca and you got kairi so you ain't got no easy wins and
you dealing with hard although hard is not what he once was he's still
crafty he's still shifting he still can get it done so there are no ease there's no like man i
got a night off no you don't that's crazy no you don't and so it's it's gonna it's gonna be uh
yeah it's gonna be it's gonna be a tough one it going to be a tough one. It's going to be a tough one. It's going to be tough.

The Knicks beat the Sixers 111-104.
Joel Embiid threw it up the glass.
He slammed it down and he had a little scare.
The left knee causing Joel, he missed 29 games with that knee.
The Sixers outscored the Knicks by 14 when Embiid was on the court,
but they were outscored by 21 when he wasn't.
This was another game, but it came down to Josh Hart.
All the big shots down the stretch, Josh Hart made them.
He made every three.
He got every time they rebound.
You know, I was on there.
They asked me, I said, man, most of the time, a lot of games, Jalen Brunson, he's not an efficient player.
Oh, look at this.
Hey, Chad, where did Jalen Brunson shoot from the floor?
8 of 26.
He had 22 points on 26 shots.
This is not the Jalen Brunson you're going to get every night.
He's very, he's, yeah.
I'm saying, he's under 50%.
Tonight, he's under 50% shooting.
For the season, he's under 50%.
He's going to give you points.
And if, you know, the Knicks are in the playoffs because of Jalen Brunson in this play.
Even though he's
under 50%. I'm not saying that he isn't,
but two things can be true.
Ocho.
Two things. So let me
get this right. That's like me saying,
man, Ocho have
170 yards. He had
20 catches. He should have had
170 yards. I can't even talk. I can't even say anything
negative about Jalen Brunson or the Knicks.
Obviously. But they are
in the playoffs because of him.
He takes a lot of shots. He scores
a lot of points. He makes a lot of
plays. He facilitates the ball
very well. And I guarantee you, he
won't have another game like he had today.
I'm not going to say he's not because they have a lint that can bother him.
Tobias Harris,
six,
eight.
Yeah.
Uh,
Kelly Oubre,
six,
six,
six,
seven.
Uh,
Kyle Lowry is tenacious,
although he probably have better against Kyle because Kyle is a little small.
So small on small,
you like Jalen Brunson in that situation.
And then you send him to your
help and you got uh joel and b back there to really make things even more difficult for him
but jaylen brunson is going to be an all nba player probably the second team i don't think
he's not going to nudge out first shay or luca for first team but i think he's going to be the
second team and rightfully so i think he aver averaged, what, 28 points this season?
Had one of the last, the third best 10-game stretch since 1980.
Had almost 380 points.
Only Kobe and Jordan scored more over the last 10 games
of a regular season.
So Jalen Brunson is going to be Jalen Brunson.
You just try to neutralize him but here's the thing
though oh joe is that you got him to shoot eight for 26 that's the game you gotta steal
because like you said you can probably not go with him playing that way i'm sure i'm sure
based on who he is based on how he's played all season long even though you're saying he's
shooting under 50 he's gonna come back and if he went nine if he went nine for 26 you're saying he's shooting under 50%, he's going to come back. If he went
9 for 26, I'm sure
he's going to clean up. He's going to be shooting a higher percentage
in the next game.
Yeah.
Yeah. You just got to make him work.
If you're making
shots over here, if you're making contested
shots, I'll straight up.
What can you do about that, Ocho?
Man, you see Ocho with that one? Bro, I can't play no better defense. The man one. They run. Yeah. What do you do about that? Oh, Joe, man. Hey, you can't man.
You see, oh, Joe,
what I can't play
no better defense.
The man one hand
called it broke.
Come on now.
The dude high pointed
ball in the middle of the field
with three guys on him, bro.
What you want me to do?
I can't play no better
defense than that.
But where they lost the game
where the Sixers lost the game,
they were out rebounding
by 22.
You can't get out
rebounding like you can't
got because, you know, Josh Hart's going to crash
the board. He's one of those
guys. He's going to he's a hustle
player. He's going to crash the
board and he can make timely shots
which he did, but
his biggest asset is
his hustle
his ability to track down loose
balls and he gave the Knicks
a couple of extra possessions that they ended up scoring.
But who would have thought that the Knicks would out-rebound them by 22?
Now, you know Joel Embiid is not going to be able to.
He's not going to be able to.
He's not as mobile as he was.
He's got that bulky knee brace.
So, Tobias.
Tobias did good.
He had nine.
Nine rebounds.
What Maxie finished with?
Yeah, Maxie going to have to carry the bulk of the load.
He going to have to put the sixes on his shoulders.
I mean, the best way he can.
Because Embiid can only do so much with a bad knee,
especially at that height, especially at that size.
What we're used to seeing from him,
he's really not going to be able to be as effective as he wants to,
even though it's playoff time.
If anything,
I listen,
I don't think I'm allowed to say it on here,
but there's something that we used to take when we were injured a little bit
that allowed us to play an effective game where we couldn't feel nothing.
And I'm not sure if they had the T word,
you know?
Yeah.
I'm no,
I can say that you do a tour at all.
Do they have that in the NBA? Oh yeah. They got it. Oh, okay. Well, know, yeah, I'm no, I can say that you do a tour at all. Do they have that in the NBA?
Oh yeah,
they got it.
Oh,
okay.
Well,
well,
well,
listen,
man,
and do what you need to do.
The Knicks had 23 offensive rebounds.
I don't know if it 23.
I'll rebound offensive rebound 23 to nine.
That'd be interesting.
How many second-chance points did they have?
Can we see that?
Hold on.
They had to have a commanding lead with that.
23 offensive rebounds.
That's crazy.
23 offensive rebounds.
Think about the points you scored off of those 26 rebounds that's crazy think about how many
the points you scored off of those
26 off of those 23
they got 26
you gonna win the game every time
26 second chance points
huh
you gonna win the game
every time
so plus 18
yep
so the game every time. So plus 18. Yep. Yep.
Yep. So
Nick's whole serve at home
on a night in which
Jalen Brunson did
not shoot the ball particularly well. Normally
guys like Jalen Brunson when they don't shoot
well game one, they come back and light your ass
up in game two. Sixers, you better be
on your best behavior.
You better be on your best behavior. You better be on your best behavior.
The T-Wolves beat the Suns
120-95 with 47.7
seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Ant drifted to the left wing,
shot a shot over Trey, shot a
Trey over Kevin Durant, looked at him
because he said that's his favorite player.
They had a fun moment together,
and Ant-Man spoke about this
after the game. Let's take a listen to what he had to say.
The little back and forth with Kevin Durant there in the third quarter.
How fun is that?
And what do you make of the atmosphere tonight?
I think everybody here knows that's my favorite player of all time.
So that was probably one of the best feelings ever in my whole life, for sure.
That's dope.
That's live.
That's live.
It is.
I mean, if you look give people that you actually,
that has to be one of the greatest feelings of all time.
And then to come out there,
to have a good game,
to hit a shot like that on the person you look up to.
And listen,
I think this is one of these moments.
I think at one point in time when Zion was coming out,
I think they were trying to make Zion the face of the NFL. I mean, I'm talking about NFL. I think they were trying to make Zion the face of the NFL.
I mean, I'm talking about NFL.
I thought they were trying to make Zion the next LeBron James, the face of the NBA.
I could be wrong.
I just want to know what you think about Anthony Edwards being next in line as the face of the league.
Well, who's the first guy to win the championship?
Because you got to win.
You're going to have to win.
He's doing that.
This is the second year of the playoffs.
So you're going to have to win.
Jason Taylor said,
Hey,
I want to play.
I want deals.
And man,
clearly now,
the thing is with him,
he has the personality.
He's had the charisma.
He has the charm.
He knows how to talk
uh job right he gets he gets his situation resolved he gets his head on straight
the league is gonna look right ain't nobody gonna be the face of the league until lebron
okay yeah you're right you're right i see what you mean i see what you mean but he just looks
like he's poised to be next man he looks like he's poised to be next, man.
He looks like he's poised to be next.
And then when you watch his game,
chat, tell me I'm not lying.
Tell me I'm not lying.
If Anthony Edwards' movements,
his mannerisms do not remind you of 23
that played for Chicago.
I'm not saying he's Michael Jordan. I'm just saying
his movement, his
mannerisms are exactly
the same. Exactly.
Yeah.
Man,
but you look at these guys, if you look
at Jordan when he got early.
You don't realize how thin he was.
He was low.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
I say, man, damn, Jordan like a stick figure.
Mm-hmm.
But, man, you talk about athleticism, and he messed around and got with a Tim Grover?
Yeah.
It was good that I ring. It was good that I ring it was good that I read
and that he got
Jordan was not a
super athletic he was not a great shooter
he turned himself into that
you don't think he was a good shooter?
