After watching a friend go through a loss a few years back, I saw how quickly grief can turn into financial stress. No one deserves that feeling I saw him feel ever, and I mean no one. No matter what I offered to help, it was. wasn't enough. I promised my family I would never make them feel the way I saw my buddy feel that day. Trust me, that experience watching a friend go through financial stress while grieving changed how I think about protecting my family. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us for another episode of Nightcap. As you watch the defending champ, the Seattle Seahawks take down the New England Patriots, the team that they beat last year in the Super Bowl by the score 13 to 10. It was a sloppy game, a lot of penalties, turnovers, but at the end of the day, who got to win, who suffered the defeat? And the Seattle Seahawks came out on top 13 to 10.

Josh Jules the game on interception. Five snaps in. Sam Donna heard his knee. Look like he jammed his knee into the turf and it probably pushed up into his hip. But that's what having a quality backup does for you because Drew Locke came in and he played extremely well.
Starting point is 00:07:50 A veteran quarterback that had some starts in this league, started at Denver for a number of years, played really, really well in the backup role tonight. Drake May, three interceptions. You can't win like that. I don't know, young man, I don't know what you saw on that last one. I don't know what he saw, Ocho. But you know what? I'm going to let you enjoy it and get first crack at him, then I'm going to come into the end.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Ocho, what did you like about what you saw from Seattle and how were they able to win this game after getting off to such a sloppy, sluggish start? I mean, well, obviously it was a defensive game, Uncle Joe, especially at the beginning of the game. Both defenses played. extremely well on both sides of the ball. Offensively, you know, Drake May, he had three interceptions.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And to answer that question on that last one, on Mac Collins, I think Mac is maybe six four. He understood there was a high advantage for him and throwing that ball up, but throwing it up and fading back, you know, with not really giving Mac Collins a chance to jump for that, to make that a 50-50 ball for him to even have a chance. So that messed up. I think there was a, I think one of those.
Starting point is 00:08:57 interceptions. One was late, and that second one were loved, I think it was Robert. Was it Robert? Because he had nothing to... The one that got tipped on the side? Because he was throwing one.
Starting point is 00:09:07 They got into a little beating tip. That was late. That was late. But the one in the middle of the field were Love, with Love picked it off. I think he was playing Robert. It had to be robber.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Because he had no threat. And he drove right on. He read, he read Drake Mike's eyes the whole time. outside of that, their defense played well. The defense played well enough to win. If Drake made doesn't turn the ball over this many times tonight,
Starting point is 00:09:35 I think they have a better chance in having some scoring drives. Outside of that, Drew Locke came in for Sam Donald. He played really well. That goddamn JSA, huh? He's special, man. Hey, Jay. J.S. I thought he was going to be frustrated a little bit because they were struggling to get him the ball.
Starting point is 00:09:52 But he made something out of nothing. He did. He made something of nothing. and he showed why he was, you know, top two receivers in the NFL right now. It was a game. It was pretty boring, especially me in the first half. I was kind of frustrated, kind of bored, honestly.
Starting point is 00:10:08 But it got interesting towards the end. Joe, I thought it was a good defensive game, Uncle Ocho. Look, when I watched the Patriots play, and I always talk, I always ask you know in the preseason, man, why these top guys don't go out there and get a little burn before you get out there? You know, because for me,
Starting point is 00:10:25 It's like some of these injuries, obviously the one to say I'm Donald, you probably, you know, it is what it is. But I think rhythm and timing and football is just like any other game that you play. You know what I mean? And when you ain't been out there for them reps, Uncle Ocho, things just don't move as smoothly. But I thought Drew Locke came in, bro, and I'm sure as a backup, that's the last thing you're thinking like, damn, first game. You ain't thinking, you know what I mean? Five plays in. Now you got to play the whole game.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Hey, bro. I tip my hat off to him, but I thought it was a great defensive game. outside of that, Uncle Ocho, them injuries, bro. Yeah, like, we don't know, we don't know how severe it is for Sam Donald, but, man, we talk about a game of inches and collisions that happen, bro. In any given play, it can be, you know, a career ending. You know what I mean? So we really don't know the significance of it, but I thought it was a decent football game.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Yeah. AJ Brown got hurt, Unk. You know, his ankle got pinned. Yeah. It looks like a high-enkel sprain. Yeah, probably a high-angle sprain. He should be out, I mean, he should be out maybe a week, maybe two, you know, depending on how severe it is.
Starting point is 00:11:40 But the fact that he wasn't able to come back, it has to be high. So I see him missing maybe two or three weeks, depending on, you know, how fast he recovers. But tonight is on Drake May. Tonight's on Drake May. It's impossible, you know, to win with that many tournaments. One turnover. Yes. Now, even though your defense is solid, three turnovers,
Starting point is 00:12:02 it just gives you no chance to even win this game. Yeah, it's hard to continuously overcome bad quarterback play. But at some point in time, these teams are going to have to realize you're going to have to play these guys. You have 17 penalties combined between the two teams. Yeah. That's not an accident. That's not an accident. Seattle shot themselves.
Starting point is 00:12:21 We can chalk it up because I think these are two really good defenses. But the penalties that Seattle was committed. They get a first down. Get it backed up. Cooper Cup, they got two men, they've got a touchdown, wiped off the board, guys, because we had two men in motion.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Cooper Cup has to come back to a complete set. Bro, you ain't in Canada? You know that. I'm just, and this is baffling to me to watch this play and watch them go out there. Oh, we're not going to play anybody, and you get out there and you got ten penalties.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Not the one, not counted the ones. They declined. That's what I'm talking about. Right. But also, Unk, you got to understand, even when we were playing, Joe, I think you're going to test to this, obviously, even in basketball,
Starting point is 00:13:03 listen, as much as you practice, it's still different in the game. And sometimes you want a game like this, especially week one, to get the cobwebs out. As much as you practice it and want to go into it, not have any MAs, any missed assignments,
Starting point is 00:13:16 or have any errors, or any off-size, any penalties in general, they are going to have it, but you want to minimize them. But this is good film study for both teams. 10-8 minimization, no,
Starting point is 00:13:27 for Seattle. They had the ball second and damn inches. Yeah. Oh, my God. Call a damn time out. You got three. Why the hell would you get a delay of the game in that situation when it's second and inches? That's the head coach.
Starting point is 00:13:40 That is on the head coach. I'm saying, hurry up. Hurry up, turn. Get your ass out of the huddle. If you got any motion, there's no chance you get in that playoff. You get to the damn line with nine seconds on the clock. There's absolutely zero chance if you got any motion. And in light they got a ball.
Starting point is 00:13:56 The only thing to say to them is that they got a delay of the game. But I'm looking at the head coach. You standing on the sideline, you're looking. Call the time out. That could have been the most important drive of the game. If Drake May wasn't, if Bonehead, I don't know, Drake May tonight. If he had brains, boy, look here. If dynamite was brain, Drake May couldn't blow his nose.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I don't know what the hell he had going on the night, Joe and Ocho, but that was some horrible playing football. Another thing, and I'm going to let you turn it back over to y'all. Defense of Ian. Yeah. Let me tell you something about when you play the New England Patriots. When they get third and inches or they get fourth and inches, be alert for the damn quarterback sneak.
Starting point is 00:14:33 They ran the exact same play in the LFC championship game. Every time they get in trouble, they get a third and one. They know that end is going to knife it on the backside. And what is he going to do? He's going to fake it on the front side and he's going to peel out the backside. Okay, now, you've been foreworn. Now, somebody else gets that. If I'm a coach, do you see this play right here on third and short,
Starting point is 00:14:51 fourth and short? Now, if you get beat again with that, I'm going to put my foot in your ass. Yeah. Hey, hey, listen, I think for Drake May, Uncle Ocho,
Starting point is 00:15:00 if he to, if he to capitalize on that last drive, they would have made up for all other mistakes. Yes. That last pick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:07 It was horrible. Hey, I'm glad I ain't got him on my damn fantasy team. That's all I'm saying. Hey, no, you may win or you may not win with it.
Starting point is 00:15:17 But in this situation, if you get your quarterback, you lost the date. Guess what? Will Campbell, the left tackle for the Patriots, he ain't got any better. Oh, Joe.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Yeah. He good and terrible. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, listen, are you going to give anybody any grace? Especially, you know, for one, Uncle Joe is bad as Drake may play tonight. I know that I know that he won't be like this, you know, the entire season. I hope not.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I'm, hey, oh, no, absolutely not. I'm going to give me some grace. You will give some grace? Hey, Uncle Joe. I'll get me. I'll get you questions on Joe, before you go any further. Which one of those? There's so 46, 46, 46,000.
Starting point is 00:15:55 92. Which one of those 92 players going to pick up a check on Monday or Tuesday next week? Oh, hello. Okay, dude, I ain't get no damn grace. Hello. Say your grace when you eat your food. When you have breakfast, lunch, dinner, that's when you say grace. I'm not giving any grace.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Yeah, I'm listening. I'm with you when you're right. Go ahead, go ahead. Go ahead. You know what I'm going to say, what I don't like, um, about week one, week two, and obviously week three, it takes time for offenses to get themselves together, to find themselves a rhythm, to have some kind of continuity as far as the offense goes and the offense is concerned in general,
Starting point is 00:16:34 they always start slow. For defenses, which is why I think the game looked the way it did tonight, defense, all you got to do, Joe, is you got to read and react. You got to read it react. And so, I mean, it was a boring game to me until it got to the very end. And I think Mike McDonald also held that timeout, that he held that timeout to make sure,
Starting point is 00:16:54 depending on how the game went, he wanted to have those timeouts in his back pocket in case he needed to use them. He scored the touchdown there. He ain't got to worry about the timeouts. Now, they need a touchdown on a two-part conversion to beat you. They need a touchdown on the P&T to tie you.
Starting point is 00:17:07 So I'm not worth it. I mean, what you're saying with it for? You think they roll over to the next game? You don't get to accumulate timeouts. If you don't burn them in the first half, you don't get to carry them over to the second half. If you don't use your timeouts in the second half, they don't carry over to the next game.
Starting point is 00:17:21 That's what I don't get with this. But I don't get this with Mike McDonald. He's too good of a coach. And this was too important of a drive for him to let that clock go down to zero and they get a delay of the game. Now, the offensive coordinator, they're going to have to do a better job of getting the play in a little earlier. Yeah, yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:17:39 But you can't have, Ocho, and this is good thing, this is the first game. We can overcome this. But you know late in the season, these are the type of games that keep your ass out of the playoffs. These are the type of game that's going to be in the first or second seed. have you ask a third of, and you have to start on the road in the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Yeah. If you're fortunate enough to get in. You just got to minimize the mistakes. And I'm looking like, bro, how you get this many penalties? I mean, guys are just like, I'm like, oh, my goodness. And that's one's like a Mike McDonald's. Here are blitz.
Starting point is 00:18:10 There are a blitz. I mean, New England. What do y'all think he's going to run? What do you think he's coming with? If he's another one, if he gets in trouble, he's coming with pressure.
Starting point is 00:18:19 He believes it. He believes his back in can cover. And they bring, and he loved bringing spoon. Spoon. I've never seen. The only guy that I've seen blitz as much as spoon was probably Charles Woodson. After they, when we eat the Green Blade, Ocho, you remember they moved him to safety, and he would play the slot.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah. I ain't never seen the plot. Ronde Barre, they would bid Blitz Ronde, but not like this. Yeah. Yeah. It was a lot. And note, the funny thing about it too, is when you think about how many times Seattle did Blitz, the counter that Namingel had, they answered it.
Starting point is 00:18:51 most of the time. Most of the time they had the counter. They got the ball out of fast. Guess what? I know you got to get the ball a lot of fast. So guess what I'm saying? Guess what? When they're going to swing,
Starting point is 00:19:01 the back's going to swing out of the back field. So corner, that's your guy. Go get him. Go get him. Yeah. Just make sure you, when you arrive, you're under control.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Don't miss because if you miss, we're going to be out of position and that can be a big player. Go ahead, Joe. If you're the Patriots, this will steam because you're on the road, first game, hostile environment and you control your own destiny down the stretch.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Come on, man. Like you said, this will come back to hunt you late in the season, bro. You'd be like, man, I remember we played Seattle. You know what I mean? So I think if you're the Patriots, obviously, if you, Drake, May, you got to clean that. What we talk about, turnovers. I don't care if it's basketball, football, I don't care what it is. You turn that ball over and you're on the road.
Starting point is 00:19:44 That's an ass whipping waiting to happen. So when you turn the ball over you on the road, that's like your mama said, boy, gone, I didn't get that. Yep, yep. You already know, you already know, because that's what you're doing. You're telling the team, yeah, I want y'all to whip my ass today. We're going to turn it over today and come on and whip my ass. But I think we got to give a lot of credit to Drew Locke because Drew Locke, look, you prepare
Starting point is 00:20:05 as if you're going to play. You never know if you're going to play. He might go, I mean, think about last year how many games he went and never get an opportunity to play unless it was clean up time or they got him getting blown out. But tonight, five, six, seven plays into the game. He's in the game. he's thrust into the game and they're down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:23 He played well. That's what you try to find in a backup quarterback. Somebody that can come in and they're not in awe of the moment. The moment is not too big. He seemed unfazed. He was very decisive. Hey, if there's a pass, my back foot hit, I'm letting it go, a JSN. If it's not there, guess what?
Starting point is 00:20:43 I'm going to tuck it and I'm going to get the hill up out of here. I'm not dealing down around trying to make no big plays down the field. I'm not trying to be something because I'm not. I think sometimes, guys, quarterbacks come into the game, and they try to be something they're not. They're watching other people. They're like, oh, I see Lamar how he buys time, and I see Josh Allen buys time, and I see my homeboy how he,
Starting point is 00:21:03 no, that's not you. Yeah. You know what I do like to, Uncle Joe? Even the fact that he won the starting quarterback, but you wouldn't prepare yourself if anything happened, just in case. And tonight was one of those situations we were just in case. He came in, he was 16 for 22.
Starting point is 00:21:19 I think not a huge day throwing the ball, but he was efficient. You know, Cuba Cup making Cuba Cup with a beautiful catch over there on the skyline. Yeah, yeah. The running back as well, Judarian Price. But I'm keeping wheels. You threw that one in. Two of 11. The thing you got some wheels.
Starting point is 00:21:36 You don't go win very many games. You go two for 11 on third down. It wasn't like New England was a bunch of better. They were five or 16. Now, both teams were perfect on fourth down, but you keep going two of 11. You can't keep putting your defense. The defense played really well tonight. I thought they did an unbelievable job,
Starting point is 00:21:53 giving the amount of plays that had to play because 67 plays to 47. So you got 19 more plays ran against you and you had to defend 19 more plays than what your offense ran. Normally that wears you down. Drake May was bad tonight. I don't care how good your defense is.
Starting point is 00:22:12 If you're on the road, it's really hard for you to overcome end up quarterback play. Unless the opposing quarterback is, than your quarterback because your quarterback's he stunk it up tonight. And, Chad, I don't think y'all, y'all, y'all know I'm not being overdramatic. He was bad and to exacerbate the situation.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Like you said, Joe, all could have been forgiven. Let's get at worst case scenario. Let's get to overtime, take our chances in overtime. I cannot end this game on an interception. Yeah. Co. Hey, Josh McDaniel probably told him, son, be smart here. Yeah. Hey, we don't have any timeouts.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Don't take any sacks. don't be afraid to throw it out of bounds. Let's not do anything dumb. The last, and the last but not least, son, don't turn it over here. Hello. Hello. Don't turn it over here. Hello.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I'll tell you one thing. Well, they got ample time to get it together and get it right because the next defense that he does face, it ain't over there. Who do you got? The Texans? Oh, yeah. I'm like y'all, man, I get Drew Locke a lot of credit. Backup quarterback.
Starting point is 00:23:19 don't know when they're going to get a chance to play. It's almost like bench players in basketball. Sometime, man, in basketball, guys will go 10 straight games, Uncle Ocho, with DMPs, don't play. But when your number called and you go out there and you deliver, bro, hey, hey, I'm telling you, it says volumes, bro. That's called a true professional. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:23:38 Staying ready, so you ain't got to get ready. And I think, you know, it's good for a lot of these young cats, bro, to see things like this because all they see is the glist and glamour. and now you get to see a backup who comes into the game, manages the game well, and obviously was able to pull out a win. Romeo Dobbs had a bad drop too, though, Ojo. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Hold on. Anytime, anything below the way. Not here. You hear. Hold on. You don't need to catch it this way. You let that drop right in your bread basket. So you can't drop it.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Hold on. Y'all talking about 87, right? Yes. Yeah, man, that thing right in his hands. Ooh, we. Hey, and they blew the coverage. They switched it. The DB was on him. He had a condensed split.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Once he went across the field, the safety had to come pick him up from the other side. Easy catch and turn up. He has a history, but, oh, Joe, when we talked about this in Green Bay, he has a history of bad drops. He'll make some difficult catches, and then he'll have the most routine.
Starting point is 00:24:44 I'm like, bro, you are, too good to have this kind of lapse in judgment. No, not in judgment. In concentration. I apologize, Chad. Lapsing concentration. Because that's all that is. When you drop a ball like that, that's just a lapsing concentration.
Starting point is 00:25:00 You just talked about that a few shows ago. The easiest balls that you drop, Uncle Joe, is the one that we, you, you wide over. Hey, Ocho. More importantly, here, after the drop, what happened after the drop? He threw a pick right after the drop. right after it. He threw a pick right after the drop. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:25:20 I'm like, hell, I was thinking to myself, damn, you're the caught there, maybe I don't throw no damn pick. If I'm the quarterback, you know what I mean? Oh, they'd be thinking that. I'd be thinking the same thing. I'd be thinking if you had thrown it to me, you wouldn't have thrown a pick.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yeah, I'd be thinking, they faking, I'm faking, we all thinking the same thing. It's human nature to have those thoughts to creep into your mind. 19 first down for the Patriots, 13 for Seattle. 5 or 16 on 3rd down, 2 of 11 for Seattle. 67 plays to 48 plays.
Starting point is 00:25:47 The yardage was very, very close. 277 to 285. The Neil Dowell really don't count of the drive, but it did. So 10 drives to nine drives. The Patriots dominated time of possession, 34 minutes to 25 minutes and 10 points. Because, look, these are two really, really good defenses. But you can't help them out by turning the ball over.
Starting point is 00:26:16 because it makes your job even tougher. And that's what happened tonight with the Patriots. Now that's a long, long ride back home. The music you love. Your favorite radio stations. Everywhere you go. The podcasts everyone's talking about. All in one place.

Listen to NFL Pro on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't know, Joe, I know you're in the league with, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:16 and having to play in Seattle, that's a long, long-ass flight. Ooh, to have to travel to New England? Yes. When they say cross-country. A boss is in Seattle. That's cross-country. And they're not like the Rams. The Rams got laid flat, but if they're going,
Starting point is 00:31:38 if they're going all the way across to Australia. Australia. You ain't got no lay flat beds. Hey, hey, hey, after a loss, after a loss, that's tough. But after a win, you get, you get, you get. Man, look here, I was just like, I wish I could just magically appear and be already back in there. Ain't that worse, man. We lost on a Monday night one time Joe to Miami on a Monday night.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Yeah. End up getting home by 5 o'clock, 5.30 in the morning. Hell, I had got me a work out of there, so I ain't coming back over here. I ain't coming back over here on Tuesday. I'm going to get my workout out in now. I changed, got my work out in being Burns. And I said, hey, bro, I guess I'll see you at the movies later today. AJ Brown was ruled out for the rest of the game tonight due to an ankle injury.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Brown went in for X-rays. He finished with three catches 26 yards in his Patriot's debut. Rough way to start. It was. He had a touchdown. Drake may underthrew him. He got to PI. ended up being a touchdown anyway.
Starting point is 00:32:42 But I'm sure A.J. would have loved to catch that ball. Read a great ride. Hey, they had them food. Drake May just didn't put enough on it to give an opportunity. So we'll see what the X-rays say when it comes back. But, Ocho, I'm thinking like you're thinking, there's probably a high ankle spray somewhere between two and four weeks,
Starting point is 00:33:01 depending. But that just means the other guys got to step up. Remember, they traded A Butte. And so now they got Romeo Dobbs, Holland's. going to have to play out of his mind. They're going to have to get the tight ends involved. I'm surprised the tight ends weren't involved even more.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Right. With him going down, where he's going down? You know, that offense is really relying on tight ends. The tight ends play, you know, Hunter Henry and the other guy, he called a touchdown. But I'm trying to look. I don't think, no, look at there. Mack Hollins had four,
Starting point is 00:33:35 Ramonoree Stevenson had five, Hunter Henry had three, AJ had three, DeMario, Douglas had five. Um, you got, Hey, you got to get a Seahawks a lot of credit,
Starting point is 00:33:46 Uncle Ocho. You know what I mean? Hey, if your defense only going to give up 10 points, you're probably going to win a lot of games. You won't win a lot of games. You're going to win a lot of games.
Starting point is 00:33:55 And them boys stingy. You hear me? Them boys stingy out there. So you talk, you're talking about you surprised why they didn't get them tight ends involved. Well,
Starting point is 00:34:02 they got some hell raises out there. They be coming. Yeah, they do. They fly to the football. They, they want to be their own Legion of,
Starting point is 00:34:11 a legion of the boom. They got their own. I don't know what they call it, the dark side or whatever they call their defense, but they fly around to the football. Yes. They get to, they get the football in a hurry.
Starting point is 00:34:21 And when you give up 10 points and you take the ball away three times, yeah, there's a good chance. There's a high probability you're going to win this ball game. So Seattle gets the first victory over the night. They celebrate, they raise the batter,
Starting point is 00:34:37 the second in their franchise history, 1310 victory over the New England Patriots. But it was a sloppy game by New England, but Drew Locke deserves a lot of credit. Oh, yeah. I came downstairs, I don't see, but I'm thinking because they normally give guys on NBC to football. I'm sure Drew Locke got to football.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Oh, yeah. He definitely deserved. Yeah, he should have. I'm almost certain he got to football. From chef to Darnell has been at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, undergoing a CT scan on its hip. The initial test was encouraging, but inconclusive. And Donald now is scheduled to have an undergoat MRI on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:35:18 Poor Mike McDonald. Donald avoided a hip fracture. Ooh. It looked nasty, too. Because the thing is, Joe, man, look. Ocho, you know, we probably, you really not try to follow your knees, Joe, on that hard ass on that hard ass. A court, that wouldn't court.
Starting point is 00:35:37 But, Ocho, we can't help it. Because sometimes we got to go to our needs to try to catch a football. Yeah. Right. And sometimes you jump up in there and you come down on your knees. Yeah. And that's why I like dirt because that natural grass gives a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:52 That turkey ain't going to give, is it? Damn, no. Hell no. Hey, I think what hurt him was he didn't see the sack coming. He didn't see a dude behind him. So when he grabbed him, that's what kind of threw him off because he wasn't anticipating on that. But yeah, it looked like his knee.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Huh? his weight and the guy on top of him wait. Right. Yeah. And for him to be, and for him not to come back, okay, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:36:15 it tells me, man, it's probably, it's probably very serious. I don't know if it's that serious, but I know he's, maybe, because think about it,
Starting point is 00:36:24 he gets a long time to recover. This is a Wednesday. They don't play until next Sunday. So that's a long, that's a long time, Joe. That's a, think about it,
Starting point is 00:36:32 Joe, that's a whole week between now and Wednesday. He might not practice, it probably just got it jammed. Like I said, I don't think it's a hip fracture. I don't know. Because if you go back and look how bow, Bo got a hip fracture,
Starting point is 00:36:47 he got snatched down from the back. Yeah, he running with too much force in joke. Yeah. Come on. But it's painful. I know it hurt. He's like, I don't know what it is. I just know it's painful.
Starting point is 00:37:01 That's what I do know. All that other stuff, y'all are talking about, it ain't a hip fracture. It might be a hip point. It might be a bruise or contusion. all that is hurts. Yeah. And it's going to take some,
Starting point is 00:37:10 it's going to just take some time, you know, hey, hey, he's going to feel it. When he comes out there, he's going to be walking like me. That won't. You can't, you can't be back there trying to play quarterback
Starting point is 00:37:22 when them dogs out to you, okay, Ocho. Nah, man, listen, boy, please. No. A wounded dog. Go ahead, Joe. Yeah, I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:37:30 think about defenses, bro, they already know you wounded. Boy, they're really going to be out of you. You hear me? Come on. And they know you can't move? Yeah. Yeah, they put his back and they're coming for it.
Starting point is 00:37:40 That's what they should do. You wounded. Go look at the Sarangetta, what they get. They get the old and the young. Yep. The ones that can least defend themselves. So if you back there playing quarterback, you can't defend yourself,
Starting point is 00:37:51 it ain't my responsibility to take care of you. That's your coach's job. He don't think enough of you. He thought less enough for you to put your ass out here. I think less than enough of you to take your ass down. It's just the way it is. It's a dog-e, dog world in sports. In fact.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Ain't nowhere around it. Especially in football, Joe. We hunt. Yeah. That's what we do. We hunt. Yeah. We're trying to find the weak link.
Starting point is 00:38:16 And if you, if we find that, you got a long day in front of you, bro. Yeah. I don't care what your position is. On the defensive side of football, you can be a safety, you can be a corner. You can be an end, a DT, a linebacker, whatever it is. If we find that weakness. Hey, hey, uh-huh. You don't get a heavy dose of this.
Starting point is 00:38:34 That's how I move. Once I find out, you got a weakness. It's kind of like me and Ocho and PV. Once I seen he had them damn boots on, I seen that weakness. I went at his ass. I didn't let him. You saw he ain't have no left hand, Joe.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Yeah, you saw he ain't have no left hand, huh? You seen me? You seen it? Hey. I'm gonna let it go. My bad, Ocho. My bad, my bad, my bad, I'm going to let me go. My bad.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Hey, Joe, let me, let me tell you something, Joe. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me tell you something. I'm not, I'm not going to dress this. No, Joe. I think it's like I do my kids sometimes. Sometimes you got to let the kids. kids win to build character, Joe.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I would just let you be your character in your confidence. We build it. We build the stages. Yeah, yeah, I'm building your confidence in character. Now you get a little character away with this time. My bad. My bad. Joe, they say in the chat,
Starting point is 00:39:21 you look like you graduated kindergarten. Me? Yeah, so you got a tassel on. All right, no. So you don't, say you don't graduate a head start. Turn it to the right. Obviously, look, they're holding their breath. They don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:40 They said it was inconclusive. Now he's going to get an MRI. I'm sure he's going to show some inflammation. Yeah. I'm going to cause that thing is really inflamed right now. So hopefully that's all it shows. There's inflammation in that hip. Nothing serious.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Hey, I don't know about you, but hey, you get somebody the quickest way to get the inflammation out? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, Joe, that's the quickest way to calm that inflammation down. Hey, that in the little ice. Needle and ice. Listen,
Starting point is 00:40:11 because if he thinking about putting that thing back on the freeway, Ocho, and you mean to tell me he ain't going to be done nothing for, what, a week and a half? Yeah. Man, please. Y'all know what's going to happen? No, you can't go out there with no flat tire. No, no, so. He can't wave down.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Just died, bro. Blu-bloo, blue, blue-blood, blue-blu. Bang. Now, he's going to be out of right. He's going to be all right. I'll tell you something. Listen, Drake may don't look like this again.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I can tell you that. You can't. You know they're going to fix that quick. Think about this. Think about all the looks, right? It's the first game of the season, I'm going to joke. This ain't preseason. You know, the preseason is, I mean, it's easy, obviously.
Starting point is 00:40:53 You know, excuse me, you know, if you're a starter. But now you're getting, you're getting all type of different looks, you know, rotations, people moving. So it's a little different. Then the speed, getting acclimated to the speed of the game as well, Week one, okay? Some of those balls, some of those balls, they should have been gone. You late.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Yes. Hey, Ocho, he ain't going to have to play against the Seahawks every damn week. We understand that. I know, I know. But he's going to face some good defense. Listen, the Steelers that they got to face on the tweeter, they ain't no sloppers. If you got to face the Broncos, if you got to face the Texans. Hey, boy, good luck. Without the schedule in front of me, hey, there ain't no easy road home now.
Starting point is 00:41:35 And that's what's so difficult is that, you know, trying to get back, you know, we're the, we're, we're a. We're a. Okay. What they got to do with us? We try to be a.m. C champs this year. And to defend and to repeat, it gets hard.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Yeah. Them teams have studied you all year. They know your tendencies. They know what you like to do. Yeah. Man, I hate that for A.J. Brown, though. Yeah, man. He was trying to catch a little rhythm.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Don't it always happen like, oh, Joe, we talk about this all the time. time. Every time you want to go somewhere, you complain about the ball. It's like, why the ball got to find me when you know I ain't ready for it? I don't be complaining about it. It did, you throw me the ball and I drop it. I was like, damn. I'm just looking at him. I'm like, I said, I've been there. I know exactly what's going through his mind. He's like, damn it. Yeah, three for 26. He started, he called him a few balls. Hey, the football guys, man, the football all guys. Okay, Ojo? Yeah. Hey,
Starting point is 00:42:37 timing, uh, that, that, that should have been a touchdown. I don't know what the, was the splanton go. I don't know what it was, but the ball should have been. Yes. You hanging the ball up, you hanging the ball up there like a moonball. Soon as soon as it come out of that break, that ball's supposed to get out. Hold on, you talking about the little flea flicker joint? Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he posed, he, he posed, he, he put to edit thing. Hey, he said that, he gets a flea flicker, and he take a hitch. Don't need hitch. No, he don't need no hitch. looking. Just let it go. Because first of all, I don't know what the corner's looking at.
Starting point is 00:43:10 You can't do nothing. You got A.J. Brown man to man. But you see him clueling inside, Ocho. You see him looking at the running back? Yeah. J. Brown just gradually to take off on him. And he did a great look. He did a great job, interfered with him. A. I ain't give you no touchdown. I take you take the interference call. Oh, he was going to try to jump that.
Starting point is 00:43:29 No, he thought he thought the running back. He's going to run. He's going to run. He's going to make a play. Joe, sometimes we got to play hero ball too now. He's like, I like to be a hero. Sometimes I will tackle, you know, corner. Most times people say, ah, you ain't going to do a corner, you're not going to tackle.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah. He's like, let me show you how I'm going to fly to the football. Hold on. They're going to be. They call them looking in the back. That's all. Uh-huh. And they come down to doing one thing.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Do your job. That's not his job, boy. Feeling the hole, that's not his job. Yeah, hey, read your keys. Keep your eyes on WIC. Keep your eyes where it's supposed to be. Which is just, the most dangerous guy is right there in front of me, Ocho. Man.
Starting point is 00:44:12 That's it. If Stevenson get through that D-line, get through them line, get through them linebackers and get to me, I tackle him then. I'm not trying to, I'm not as a corner. I'm not trying to stop no running back for a two-yard game. Not when he's coming through the A or the B gap. Now, if he's coming around the edge, that's something entirely different. If he get past the second level, that's something entirely different. Then I do what I'm supposed to do.
Starting point is 00:44:38 To no one surprise, Vakins head coach Kevin O'Connell has announced Carson Wins will serve as the team's backup quarterback on Sunday, with J.J. McCarthy will serve as the third quarterback. Here's O'Connell on the decision. Yeah, Glenn J.I. So we're going to, you know, Carson will be the backup on Sunday. And, you know, JJ will obviously be the third guy. I'm looking at that right now, Kevin, as a week-to-week thing. And I think, you know, Carson, he's got almost 100 career starts,
Starting point is 00:45:10 what he was able to do last year from a standpoint of very limited repetition, but being able to apply a career's worth of experience, that's kind of what you need to do as a backup quarterback, especially early on when so much of the emphasis is going to be on getting as Kyler as comfortable as we can possibly get them. But JJ is, you know, he's still going to get a bunch of great. great work, you know, as Carson will, you know, giving our defense a look. And then there's time before, there's time after the development of a player that, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:42 we're really, you know, I'm just really excited to continue to get a chance to work with him. And then want to make it week to week. So, you know, when we feel like we need to, you know, declare something different, we can and we will. I mean, that should be no surprise to anybody. That should be no surprise to anybody. You know, how the peck in order went. You knew JJ McCarthy were going to be the third quarterback, you know. I mean, some people thought, you know, they would let him go or maybe trade him.
Starting point is 00:46:10 See if you could find some value, you know, bases as high as he went as a pick. But he's a project at this point. Yes. He's a project. But right now, we don't have time to deal with the project. Owners, teams and coaches, we want to win right now. Because players like that with the inconsistency, J.J. McCarty played with last year, that gets you sitting home and get you fired.
Starting point is 00:46:30 You got to uproot your family. and your kids. You know, I'm just being an honor, Joe. Boy, at least you feel short, man, in today's thing. You need a quarterback. Everything starts with a quarterback. If you don't have that foundational piece,
Starting point is 00:46:43 you're not going nowhere. And coach understands that, which is why Kyle Murray, you know, is the start of quarterback. And Carson wins, based on what he's been able to do in the past, he's number two. But again, one thing that we said, we saw two injuries tonight from key players.
Starting point is 00:47:00 You know the injury away from. being in the game. Oh, we. Hey, we need Kyle and Murray to be healthy this year. He's had injuries in the past. He got injured this last year in, in Arizona. When Jacobi Prusset had to start. And we're playing well.
Starting point is 00:47:16 But guess what? All three of the quarterbacks have an injury history. Kyle Murray, Carson Wentz, and J.J. McCarthy. So ain't none of, ain't none of them made of, is what we would call durable. So you know what it say to me. Hey, they don't have no faith in J.J. McCarthy. None. No, no.
Starting point is 00:47:37 No, they don't plan on giving him no chance. We're going with experience backup. It just says that they have no faith in them, bro. Like, they gave him an opportunity. He didn't seize the moment. Now he's the third quarterback. Where they're cooking themselves in the ass. For giving up Sam Donald for letting him walk.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Yep. Hey, hey, hold up, hold on, hold up. It's hard to really blame him, Uncle Ocho, because you don't really know. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. You keep Sam Donald, you don't know what J.J. McCarty's going to be. They had to give him an opportunity in the first round.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Huh? I ain't trying to find out either. I definitely trying to find out. Not after that running a hand. He was 14 and I said, look, if he wants 50, 55 million, I'm going to be reluctant. But what he got was 30. He got a Baker Mayfield deal. 33, like three years for 103 million.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Joe, $104 million. That's nothing. Hold on. He got that before he won. No, he gets, that's what. That's what Seattle paid him to come there. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:48:34 I'm saying that if he was wanting 50, 55 million, I'm going to have to like, damn, who, who, that kind of, like to make that kind of commitment. But a 30, a 35 million, 30 to 35 million, I can sleep with myself. I can live with myself making that decision. Right. Now look at you. You're searching.
Starting point is 00:48:55 You're searching for a quarterback. You got all those weapons. Look at what you got to the receiver. Look at you got Harkinson that tight end. You got Addison, you got Jetta, you got Jones in the back field. You got an outstanding defense. The one missing piece is the most important piece. All those other pieces don't matter if you don't got that guy.
Starting point is 00:49:14 I'll give a damn how good your defense is. I don't care if you got Chase, you got Jeter, you got Trey McBride. I don't give a damn who you got. I know one thing. I'm not a scout, Joe. But if I'm watching film and I think a quarterback, is going to be picked that high, at least let what he did in college
Starting point is 00:49:34 have some type of reflection in what we do here in Minnesota. It's not even the same. They don't even throw the ball. No disrespect to the Michigan Wolverine. They ring the ball. And then they play action off the run. We are in a past happy league.
Starting point is 00:49:52 You got jettis, you got Addison, you got Hawkinson, like Unch just said. We're going to throw the ball. So you're rolling the dice anyway. And I just got a guy, and I'm going to let him go, and we just went 14 and 3, even though we got to the playoffs and lost. But I know what I get with him as opposed to, I don't know what I'm getting with this one. And he was familiar with your offense because, remember, he came from San Francisco.
Starting point is 00:50:18 It runs the same type of offense. I don't know, man. I don't know how y'all blamed the Vikings when Sam Donald was like a journey, man. Okay, Ocho, y'all act like everywhere he'd been. he just been. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, well, he's a journeyman. Let's, wait a minute now, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:50:34 He started out with the Jets. That's a journey in itself. You got a point. Johnny Depp. Hey, that's like being Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Ain't tell you what you're going to get over there. The Jets haven't done right by a quarterback since God damn Joe Namib. You know, so that's start from the top of trigger this way down.
Starting point is 00:50:55 So really no quarterback has really had success over there. And the time that the Jets have had success because the goddamn defense was all world. You're right. Then he goes to Carolina. I mean, come on. I'm just saying, man. You are like he out here.
Starting point is 00:51:12 You know what I mean? Like, yeah, he ain't been putting in. But here's the thing, no, Joe, for $30, $35 million, which is not a lot of money for a quarterback. Now, like I said, it would have caused me some concern if I got to give up $50, $55 million. But he got a similar deal. deal to what Baker Mayfield got in Tampa.
Starting point is 00:51:32 Now, he's probably going to get, if he comes back and plays as well as he did last year, even if they don't get to Super Bowl, they're probably going to tear that contract up and give him another similar deal, $55 million. That's all I'm saying. I think he had played well enough to take another look. Yeah. He definitely served at. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I believe he had played well enough. 14. Man, do you know how hard it is to win 14 games in the NFL? He won 14. game no matter what, yeah, I understand he was at the Jets. Tom Brady might have been felt. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning might have filled at the Jets.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Them guys don't know so bad. The only way, the only way I believe is not the Jets is that Tom Brady or Peyton Maddie had to go on there and they had success. Other than that, no, nope. I mean, what quarterback could,
Starting point is 00:52:25 what quarterback in free since then you know what, My number one destination is the Jets. Hell no. Unless he knew he gets a band. I don't think anybody, I don't think anybody is surprised by this. Like I said, I thought they would try and trade him
Starting point is 00:52:42 because I knew he was going to, I knew at best case scenario he's going to be three. If you go back and look at it, Bosmer plays better than he did in the preseason. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If we be, if we be, if we're being all,
Starting point is 00:52:59 the way honest. He got out play. Everybody played better than he did. But now, and Coach's like, well, I'm looking forward to working with. Well, if you want to work with him so much, you put him at you, put him at two.
Starting point is 00:53:17 You do what dude got going on, man? Come on, bro. Man, touch a cabal die. They don't want to see your ass. That's on, man. Come on, man. Hey, no, no, I'm using the bench. You know, the bench that they got in front of the bed.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I ain't got no back, so now my back hurt, so I'm just going to grab a chair. You know, uh, hey, y'all, eh, y'all put me in the suite, huh? Yeah. Hey, I appreciate that, boy. Hey, you notice I'm not smoking in here because y'all paid for the room, huh? Smoke it up. You welcome. Oh, I can smoke.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Hey, smoke it up. Hey, hey, hey, hey, you bet not smoke, boy. That's a $1,000 fee. No, it ain't only $250, Joe. Where are you at? You know what, don't worry about it. Hey, you, who are you? a pollist?
Starting point is 00:54:13 But no, no, I just think the thing is that Kevin O'Connell realized he's on the hot seat too, Joe. Yeah. Yeah, he's on the hopsy. Hell, yeah. That's why he ain't taking no chances with JJ. He's like, look, I'm going out with these veteran guys. Kyle are going to get first, first devs.
Starting point is 00:54:30 I think he's going to be all right, though, Ankenocho. I know he'll know he a little smaller, but I think understanding the circumstances. sense, the situation that he's put in, hell, after this one, you know, it may not be another one. Well, I think the thing is that, Joe, it's just hard to stay healthy at that size, especially
Starting point is 00:54:48 because what makes him dynamic is his running ability. And when you run, you put yourself in harm's way. People say, well, Drew Breeze wasn't big. Drew Breeze didn't put himself in damn harm's way. Drew Breeze wasn't out there running around like Speedy Gonzalez. Drew Breeze would get the damn ball out of his hands.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Yeah, yeah. A smaller, quarterback, that's, and it's a blessing and a curse, because if you go back and if you look at history, guys that have gotten sacked the most, Joe, are being your most athletic quarterback. Yeah. You look at Randall Cunningham. You look at Michael Vick. Look at, look at all the guys. You're like, how you get sacked that much as athletic as you are? Because you run yourself out of, you run yourself out of danger on the front side, but run yourself into something on the backside. Right. Right. And then you rely, you become so reliant on that.

Starting point is 01:00:32 them some big boys out there moving too. Yes. So, them boys ain't, we're talking about some 215, 220. Them boys big, man. I'm talking about 265, 275. Look at Miles Garrett. What? That's six four and a half, 270 moving like that.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Look at Will Anderson, June. Look at those guys. Man, them guys moving. Man, can you imagine? And they're coming with bad intentions, too. You hear me? I'm talking about, can you imagine how you feel like the game? I'm thinking if you're a running back because you're getting hit so damn much.
Starting point is 01:01:01 Man, come on, man. That's what I tell you. my hat to Derek, Derek Henry. Look at all those. Look at all those. And to do it, and his upright running style, that's why he went in the second round, because people are like,
Starting point is 01:01:13 there's no way he can have that upright running style and last beyond five years, especially all the care that he had in high school, all the cares that he had in just three years of college. Ain't no way he can survive more than three to four years. And here he is, you know, 10, 11 years into the league, and he's got 13,000 yards with an outside chance of being at worst.
Starting point is 01:01:33 case maybe three, four, maybe two or three, he might even catch him. He's like five, five, five, a little, by 55 hundred yards short of Emmett. Hey, you know, you know what amazes me is that when Dei, hearing, when he get to that second level, Uncle Ojo, it seemed like it's hard to catch him, boy. Oh, yeah, he can run that. Oh, yeah, he can run that, Joe. He can, he can run that. Hey, hey, too, when I think about other other running backs that had that upright running
Starting point is 01:01:58 style, I think about Roger Craig. Even though he lift his leg high, he was still, he was still upright. Remember Robbins in Minnesota? They re-ranged, he ran like that. But see. Hey, hey, he did. Hey, Eaddy runner's style was so smooth. But see, the thing is with Raj,
Starting point is 01:02:14 Raj, Raj didn't get the carries. He didn't get the workload. Because Raj was mainly a runner and a receiver. So they split, they split between running and, but, you know, Derek Henry getting the ball 300 carries. 350, 400, man, come on, man. Mm-hmm. Damn.
Starting point is 01:02:32 Hey, Joe, don't nobody want to hit. Derek Henry, man. Once he gets to that second level, and he got to hit him. No, sir. Them boys don't want none of that smoke. You know what's funny? TV don't do you no justice.
Starting point is 01:02:45 You don't do no justice. You see that dude man up close in person and he's running full speed and he gets past that first level. And, oh, man. Oh, he's gone. I'm attacking his pinky toe. Man, please.
Starting point is 01:03:01 The Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield have agreed to a three-year extension for $165 million. The extension includes $110 million now in guarantees. On top of the $40 million guarantee that Mayfield is scheduled to make in 2026. The books originally offered Baker Mayfield two years at $50 million. But Mayfield and his agent Tom Mills felt that the deal was too light. The new deal averages $55 million per season tied to third highest in the league. You see, Joe?
Starting point is 01:03:27 Yeah. He got a $33 million deal. because he signed the one-year deal for about $5 million. Plays really well. Boom. Now, he said, you know what? They gave three years $100 million. It's about $33,000 per year.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Yeah. That's all Minnesota had to do. That's all Minnesota had to do right there. And guess what? Prove it. If it don't work out, you walk, hey, 33 ain't nothing, but you can't let it walk out the door for nothing, no, Joe. See, that's what really hurt you,
Starting point is 01:03:58 is that you let it walk out the door and you ain't get nothing in return for it. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I like what Baker did. Obviously, Joe, and Joe, it was a proven season. He proved that season with a bit, I don't want to say low ball. I'm just saying, based on a starting quarterback, it wasn't a respect to the number.
Starting point is 01:04:14 Then they come back, they take care of them. Okay, we believe you. Let's see what with this three-year, no hundred. Okay, I showed you what I could do. I'm the heart soul of the team. I give us a chance to win every time we go out there to compete. Okay. Now, what y'all want to?
Starting point is 01:04:31 to do. Take care of your boy. Because you ain't got no answer behind him. Ain't no answers. You hide him. So they had no, they had no choice. In a sense, he has the leverage, he has the power, and he understood that. Hey, look, and I think.
Starting point is 01:04:47 And that's funny. Before you go, Joe, him saying something to, that's the first time I heard a quarterback had to come out and be vocal about it. You don't happen often. That's the first time. Because they normally, they, they were like, huh. then they realized they ain't got no choice.
Starting point is 01:05:05 Right. When you realize without a quarterback, you ain't got no chance of winning? Tell me you already been through that. Yeah. You remember you had an outstanding defense. Yeah. And then it took Tom Brady to come
Starting point is 01:05:19 and not turn the ball over and play well to win your championship. And then the three years you had Brady there, you had an expectation of getting to the playoffs and making a deep run. That's what quarterbacks give you. And see, when you let somebody walk out the building Joe, and you don't get anything for them.
Starting point is 01:05:36 It's like being, like my old man used to say, boy, it's like being mad without a pre-nup. They take half the money and all the hoo-ha. Boy, that's a lose-lose, Joe. Yeah, yeah, it's a lose, lose. I mean, they're taking half the money and all the hoo-ha with them. I just, I think, I think for the Vikings' sake, you know, they, they were banking on JJ McCarthy as, but the, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They know, they couldn't let Baker get out of there, fellas.
Starting point is 01:06:02 True. Well, they had no backup plan. You know what I mean? They had to pay them. So I don't know what took so long. Well, they don't want to be tied too long. And they didn't want to get to a four-year, five-year deal. You know what I'm saying, Joe?
Starting point is 01:06:19 They had like three years. They wanted to go two. You see what the first off was two for 50. In-soldier. This year plus two more. That's kind of where they wanted to go. But Baker did something smart. Baker says, hold on.
Starting point is 01:06:34 I've got to keep, I got to keep it at least second because Caleb Williams is coming behind me. C.J. Straub is coming behind me. Bryce Young is coming behind me. There are a lot of guys that are coming behind me. I'm not taking a step back. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:50 I'm going to keep pushing this ball forward because I promise you, Caleb Williams ain't taking 55 million. I can promise you. No. J. Stroud ain't getting 55 million. They're looking for 60. They look, you heard,
Starting point is 01:07:02 the report, so I don't know if they're true, that CJ won't 70. Damn. He's not going to get 70. He'd be somewhere between 60 or 62. But hold on. He has to play well for two hours. He has to play well this year. I agree.
Starting point is 01:07:18 But I think out of three quarterbacks that you name, Jaden Daniels is also in that picture. Drake May. It depends on who. Oh, yeah, Drake May is in that picture. It depends on who goes first. But the one with the most upside, me that will probably reset the market and be the highest paid will probably be
Starting point is 01:07:36 Caleb Williams. And they're going to be reluctant. They're going to be real reluctant for somebody to go past Mahal Boy now. Because you're talking about a guy that's what three Super Bowes, bend to five, two-time league MVP, a 5,000 yard passing season, or 50 touchdown passing season. He's universal regarded as the best quarterback in football. Although Josh Allen contends and, you know, when you list him, it's normally my home boy, Josh Allen, and your quarterback, Joe, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:08:02 Joe. Joe Burrell. Joe, Joe. Yeah, those, normally the top three, you mix them up, then Lamar comes in there and you get, some people say, Dak and the, Matthew Stafford doesn't got to take his backseat to nobody. No. I don't know if you noticed it.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Matthew Stafford, they got to take a back seat to nobody. No. Because he can make every throw. Now, he ain't got the legs those other guys got. But his arm talent is second of none. Hello. That boy got a rock. Yeah, he might be top five, and I ain't sure he's two, three, four, four, or five.
Starting point is 01:08:39 When it comes to just arm, Talon, I'm just saying, y'all watch them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, well, got some weapons over there now. But I'm glad, I'm glad that Baker was able to get his money, given what he had to go through in Cleveland. They didn't believe in him. They didn't like his style of leadership. everybody can't lead like Peyton and Tom.
Starting point is 01:09:03 And it seems like that's the standard, you got to be buttoned up like those guys. You got to be, you know, I get it. I know sometimes you can't, you know, the one thing that I think is universal, when things go bad, you take it on you, put it on you. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:20 You always stand at the forefront because when things go good, you're getting all the damn credit. Hello. So when it's bad, that's on me, put that on me. I need to play better. Certain things, how do you handle certain things I think you have to do? But leadership, people lead, you know, different ways.
Starting point is 01:09:38 What you think? What you think, guys? Yeah, I'm with you. I think the accountability part that you're talking about, like I love when a guy steps to the podium, Ocho, and he'd say, hey, look, I got to be better. I mean, my play tonight wasn't up to part. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:09:54 Versus pointing the finger and, you know what I mean? Like, just take the accountability, bro, going to keep moving because I think from a fan's perspective, we'd appreciate that a lot more. You know what I mean, versus pointing a finger trying to call other guys out. Yeah. I mean, I think most quarterbacks do do it that way. I think maybe the only thing,
Starting point is 01:10:12 the only one I can think of, you know, unc who has been known to chastise, you know, those that who make mistakes is Aaron Rogers. Yeah. And Rogers will say, you know, what's something wrong with the... Aaron Rogers, like, you're going to drive a bus now. It won't slap over you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:30 But I think every other quarterback, they're very PC, you know, and answer the question is the right way. And when things go well, they send the praise elsewhere. And when they don't go well, they take accountability. Chad said, man, you used to kill Baker undisputed. I did. Not kill him again if he played bad. That ain't no secret.
Starting point is 01:10:53 I don't hold no punches. That's who I have. You already know when you hear me talk, if somebody play good, I'm going to say they play good. If somebody play bad, I'm going to say they play bad. It don't matter who they are. It don't matter what color they are. It don't matter how many years they've been in the league.
Starting point is 01:11:09 And when I say things, I don't care. I don't try to take, even if I could, I can't. I can't take away with somebody's already won. If you won a Super Bowl, if you're an MVP, if you're an offensive player a year, a rookie of the year, I can't take those awards away. But the thing is about sports. is that I love the most about it.
Starting point is 01:11:28 You got to update that resume on a weekly basis. Hello. This ain't no way every three months. They say in the real world, you're supposed to update your resume every three months. No, no, no, no, no. You don't get that luxury in sports. You update that thing on a weekly basis in football.
Starting point is 01:11:43 And in basketball, you updated two to three nights a week. Hello. Hello. So ain't nothing changed, chat. Ain't nothing changed. Y'all know. Y'all know who I am. Y'all know my resume.
Starting point is 01:11:53 Y'all know what I do. If somebody played bad, I'm going to say they play bad. And that's why as a professional, chat, as a professional, you have to have short-term memory. You have to have short-term memory to be able to last in the NFL or the NBA or any other professional sport
Starting point is 01:12:08 because they're going to be some good days. They're going to be some not-so-good days. But those not-so-good days, how you get through them is going to determine the success that you have in whatever sport that you're playing, bro. You know what I mean? Well, Skipin, I used to argue all the time.
Starting point is 01:12:21 I said I thought Sam Donald was better to Baker. I said, but Lee, went to the Jets. I said, what named the quarterback they got drafted to the Jets that had success? Hell,
Starting point is 01:12:32 it ain't been one. I mean, you got to talk about, you gotta go back 60 years with Joe, with Joe Namer. 60. Damn.
Starting point is 01:12:41 Ain't nobody. None of these people was even born when the Jets had a good quarterback. I mean, Chad Pendington was okay, but,
Starting point is 01:12:53 come on now. Mark Sanchez, had a nice little. run. But that was defense face. It wasn't him. The defense was top two. That wasn't him. Joe Barrow told Jeff Hobson, I'm here for the long haul. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just trying to bring a now or never mentality to a day by day process. If you're not, what are you doing? Attack the day with a championship mindset and the rest will take care of
Starting point is 01:13:20 itself. I'm just really proud to be quarterback of the Bengals. I'm happy to be here. I'm proud to represent the city of Cincinnati, the state of Ohio, the Brown family. I'm just proud and I want to make everybody else proud also. Damn, my ain't walking back to comments. What going on? He ain't walking back. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:13:38 No, he ain't walking nothing back, Uncle Joe. Listen, the message was heard loud and clear. The message Joe Burrow put out was heard loud and clear in the all season. During, during, I mean, the message was heard loud and clear. I think last year he said some things in cryptic format, you know,
Starting point is 01:13:54 that Dan Oloski, you know, says some of the things he said and saying, oh he wants out but now we we we as a team because i'm part of the team too we got to put up a shut up because mike brown and katie mr blackburn they didn't gave you everything you want man they gave you pieces defensively right we got brother cook we got brother jerry brother brother allen you know for the commanders we got dexie lawrence from the giants huh we got some good rookies in there one of my favorite rookies going into his second year brothers demetrius night boy, I need to flyin all over the place, boy,
Starting point is 01:14:29 because every time I watch film and watching you defensively, boy, you pop out. You hear me? So boom, offensively. Hold on top of Joe. Joe, we need you to stay healthy, baby. So that's also on our officer line as well,
Starting point is 01:14:42 but we need you to stay healthy. For us to have a chance this year, that's key. You got to stay up. Hey, look. That's it. So to us, based on everything that Joe Burrow has said,
Starting point is 01:14:54 he's added pressure and fuel to the fire. Because now the onus and eyes, we're watching you now based on everything you said. And I love the mentality. I love the, you know, saying all the right things and getting everybody hyped and want to take accountability. Kind of, kind of forcing everybody to play at a high level on offense, on defense. But now if things don't go well, now you gave everybody ammunition. Yep. Everybody has ammunition now.
Starting point is 01:15:24 So I think we're going to be all right. I can tell you that. I'll tell you one thing. We win in the AFC North. You hear me? Hey, I like your confidence. Joe ready to get out there. He ready to get out there and play.
Starting point is 01:15:35 He ready to win. Okay, I'll go to you. Yeah, that's my quarterback, Joe. Yeah, man, I've seen some clips with him and Chase. You know, I love the bond that they have, and I think they got great chemistry. Like you say, Joe got to stay healthy. If he stayed healthy, hey, they got a great chance.
Starting point is 01:15:51 He just looked like a guy who's kind of gotten a little frustrated with a lot of these questions because he knows, he knows the narrative about the Bengals, him and his health. So I think you're ready to get out there
Starting point is 01:16:01 and get to it, bro. Got no choice. Yeah. He really doesn't have a choice because like you said, you got two high price receivers. Yeah. Yourself making the money.
Starting point is 01:16:13 You said you wanted to upgrade the defense. They've upgraded the defense. They've redecorated the house. Yeah. In your life, for your likeness, to your specifications. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:16:25 It's on you not, right? Yeah. You got to stay healthy. I just don't, I, I, I, Ocho, the office, your offensive line just still scared me. They scare me, Ocho. Hey, don't do that. Don't do that. We got men, we got Orlando Brown.
Starting point is 01:16:40 We got care. We got Ted. We got care. We're going to be all right, though. I don't hope so. I sure hope so. And you, you know, you know, you know who gets to taste that, that, that bangor ratth one on the joke? Tampa Bay.

Starting point is 01:20:00 We let Russell Wilson come into our house last year and throw a damn career high. That man played 20 years in the NFL. No more. We ain't having it. No more. Yeah. Hold on, Joe.
Starting point is 01:20:11 Hold on. Hey, you know, it's a dude over there. You know, he played for LSU, right? And he played for the New York Giants. Even though we're coming off of ACL injury, like he really liked that. He that boy. You know, he like him and he like you be saying,
Starting point is 01:20:25 how y'all going to talk him? It's going to take it. It's going to take him a little while, Ocho. It's going to take him a little while to get. See how y'all try to sabotage my plans already. If I had went to him, they y'all wouldn't have known. Y'all just see the trade happen. Say, I can't tell you out nothing.

Starting point is 01:22:25 I can't believe football season is here, man. I, hey, uh, and Joe, it felt like I was playing the day. Like, I was literally, before kickoff, they were sitting in a Star-Spangled Banner. I was sitting crying at the cigar bar. You know, and the way, yeah, I would cry, Joe, like, it was not crying, like, not bawling, but, like, tears was coming down. The waitress was like, are you okay? Is everything okay?
Starting point is 01:22:45 I said, yeah, yes, ma'am, I'm just a little emotional because, you know, it's the start the football season, and I get like this, you know, sometimes as if I'm still playing. She didn't understand it. But, I mean, it's, I can't. Hey, hey, I kind of understand what you're saying. Because when basketball season starts, Uncle Ocho, I get like a little, you know, it's like a, it's like a feeling around that time every year, my body gay.
Starting point is 01:23:08 You know what I mean? So I get it, Ocho. I get it. I don't feel that. Beautiful. Oh, come on, man. Maddie Joe, I've been gone two decades. Hey, you don't get that feeling anymore?
Starting point is 01:23:22 The first couple of years when I retired? Yes. Yes. You start spangle banner. You start to get emotional because you know what it's like. I mean, I used to feel that way when the guys go to start going to training camp. When the Broncos would go to training camp. Yeah, they're going to camp.
Starting point is 01:23:35 You know, I mean, because I was training, for the first couple of years, I still trained like I was going back to training camp. Right. You can't hear it. I was like, man, what am I here on this track running for like this in doing all this? I ain't going to damn where. Hey, hey. I'm on TV with Boom and Dano.
Starting point is 01:23:51 But it's hard when you've been wired that way for over. a decade, you know what I mean, to turn that off. I don't know how guys just completely turn it off and just don't work out no more. Like, you know what I mean? For me, that's going to always be a part of my life, bro.
