But first, the Clippers and the Toronto Raptors trade, centered on Kauai Leonard, will not be complete until. to the NBA investigation whether the Clippers circumvented the salary cap is completed.
Starting point is 00:06:25 The Clippers and the Raptors agreed to a trade on June 30s that would send the NBA, the All-NBA forward to Toronto for Brandon Ingram, Grady Inc. Protected First Ride Draft pick in 2031, 233, and a 27 first-round pick swap and two second-round picks. The NBA's investigation to the Clippers is focused on whether they circumvented the salary cap by funneling money to Kauai through a $28 million endorsement deal with a green banking company aspiration, which also had $300 million, a 23-year endorsement deal with the team. Team owner Steve Barmer, who invested $60 million in aspiration, has denied he had any knowledge
Starting point is 00:07:05 of Kauai's deal. The Clippers on Thursday said they did not funnel money to Kauai learners through aspiration, and there were victims of fraud initiated by Aspirations, excuse me, co-founder, Joe Sandberg. Sanberg was convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison. Joe, the NBA loved the billionaires until they found out how they really do business. What do you make of this situation? Pablo Tori, he has a podcast.
Starting point is 00:07:31 He was at ESPN and he did an M-depth deep dive. He had documentation of saying, okay, this is what they were doing. He had a $28 million endorsement deal in which he didn't have to show up. He had other perks that he didn't have to do anything and he just received those perks. Now, it is noted, he went him and his uncle Dennis approached the Toronto Raptors about a very, very similar situation. They wanted part of the team and they wanted this and they wanted that. And the upper management told him that's illegal. We can't do that.
Starting point is 00:08:00 We're circumventing the salary cap and the league found us out, basically in a long story short, they're going to punish just severely. It was reported that they brought the same thing to the Lakers. And the Lakers and Jeannie Bust is like, we can't do that. And lo and behold, the one team, Didn't sign with Toronto. He didn't sign with the Lakers. The one team that seemingly,
Starting point is 00:08:20 that is what it looks like, allegedly, he signed with. But this is what's being reported. And they say they're not going to do, let this thing go through until they do their deep dive investigation. In order to sign the Cliverts Cowher reportedly saw the assurances that they would extend far beyond the basketball floor.
Starting point is 00:08:40 According to the athletic, Kawhi's advisor, Uncle Dennis requested ownership, taking companies, corporate sponsorship, and no-show endorsement deals that allowed Kauai to collect millions of revenue without doing any actual work. Pablo Tori found that Kauai and his employers divide the foolproof system to secure Kauai an additional $28 million in funding. Additionally, Pablo Tori, investigated found the aspiration offered Kauai an additional $20 million on top of the $28 million nest egg, meaning he was due to collect $48 million. dollars. The mechanism for Kauai collect said resources
Starting point is 00:09:18 with KL2, Espite LLC, a company owned by Kauai and Uncle Dennis, if I'm not mistaken. The Kauai partner with Steve Barmer-led aspiration, a tree planning company that went bus in March of 2025. Joe, what are you making of this?
Starting point is 00:09:35 I can hold you with my honest opinion. Hell, it probably did. I'm saying, listen, because you know, y'all, y'all, You know how billionaires move, bro. Yeah. Damn fair. We're always going, it's always going to be a little uneven.
Starting point is 00:09:50 You know what I mean? But I think to get Kowah to commit, yeah, man, this probably was an under-the-table deal, bro. Hey, hey, we're going to take care of you. We're going to make sure you make plenty of money off the court. Hey, they just mess around and they got caught. Now, the NBA could do a deep dive name. I know they rescinded the Chris Paul deal back when he was with the Hornets. They didn't let that deal go through.
Starting point is 00:10:10 You remember what they did to Joe Smith? Yeah. When he had that deal, he signed that deal in Minnesota. Yeah. And it put Minnesota in hell for the foreseeable future. It took their draft picks for the next three years. They said, no, you cannot resign Joe Johnson. Excuse me, Joe Johnson, Joe Smith.
Starting point is 00:10:27 And so he had a big time deal on the table. That it was, hey, we're going to go ahead and sign this thing soon as the season over. Woo, woo, woo, woo. And somebody got mad and they went to the league office and told the league office. And David Stern did not play, that foolishness. And he hammered them. So those are just the ones that got caught here. Imagine the ones that didn't get caught.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Right. Iso check your mic. What happened? You say it sounded like it's coming from your computer. Oh, what about now? What about now? Say something. What's up?
Starting point is 00:11:02 What's up? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay, go ahead. Go ahead. Yeah, so it don't surprise me, man. Hey, hey, these billionaires are going to move a little different,
Starting point is 00:11:13 and I'm sure this was, you know, We'll probably never know the full story or the truth, but this is probably under the table deal, bro. Just keep it 100. Ashley, can you change your mic setting? I just did. Oh, Joe, it seems to be, he goes to one place, wants all this stuff, ownership stake in corporations.
Starting point is 00:11:34 He wants these deals where you're going to give me X amount of dollars, but I'm not going to have to do anything for it. But even if that's the case, you still can't do that. Everything has to be basketball-related. Now he says that with the Raptors. Now he goes to the Lakers. They said no, Jeannie Buss is reported that Jeannie Buss said, we can't do that.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Two teams say no. It's seemingly now, he signs with a team. Now, what's the likelihood that all three teams said no? Seems to me two teams said no. One team found a way to do it. Hey, we'll do it like this here. We put it in the LLC. Hey, boom, boom, boom, you'll be a partner.
Starting point is 00:12:09 And if I'm not mistaken, Pablo was reporting that they created these companies, These LLCs, Kauai and his Uncle Dennis, like shortly before the deal was commiserated. Yeah. Yeah. Excuse me. Well, obviously, Uncle Joe, for us, we actually actually probably have a little history and understanding on how billionaires were. They become billionaires for a reason.
Starting point is 00:12:32 They don't do everything by the book. They never actually played by the book, which is why they're able to attain the kind of wealth that they do get. When it come to cut corners, they know exactly what corners are cut to be able to get what they won't done. This just happened to be a situation where a billionaire has gotten caught, they've gotten caught up in what they want to do in getting the player they actually wanted. Most of the time when it comes to them, when they do business, they throw money at it. They throw money at it to fix any issue and to get what they want. It just happened to be one of many that it happened to have been, you know, having to been caught up in it. And obviously it did go through.
Starting point is 00:13:07 I'm not sure if the trade is going to go through once they do a deep dive. but how much a dive do you need to make? You don't need scuba here. I mean, you have great charles and see what was going on here. You know, so I'm not sure what the dive is for. It's not really necessary. There's really nothing to get in depth about. It's more so common sense and logic.
Starting point is 00:13:25 When we look at the situation, David Stern is not the commissioner right now. So maybe Adam Silver may be a little bit more lenient, but we'll see what happens. Yeah, I just think the thing is that when you're dealing with a situation like this, and they have these big-time lawyers, the lawyers making $2,500, $3,000 an hour. They went to all these prestigious schools.
Starting point is 00:13:45 They're a big part of these big law firms, and they know how to maneuver. And we see this a lot of times when they want to move money, they create these corporations so it don't tie back to them, and they get to move money over here, over there. And you never know, you never, you never, you never know where it came from, how they came to be. But you just know, they just know how to do things like that. And that's, you know, that's the way if something would happen, I have, I need, because at the end of the day, Joe Ocho and Joe, I need plausible. And you see what he said? I gave him $60 million, but I had no knowledge of where the money was going.
Starting point is 00:14:17 See, he has plausible deniability. So that's what I need. That's what you have to create. You have to create. That happened. I absolutely gave Ocho and Joe $10 million apiece, but I didn't know what they were doing with that money. I'm, I'm just, I was scammed just as much as you guys were. Ocho, check your mic.
Starting point is 00:14:43 God dang, everybody having a bike problem today, huh? Hold on, can you hear me? Hey, my mic, you good? I'm good now? Your mic on Zoom? It ain't now. Hold on. You good now, Ocho?
Starting point is 00:14:57 Yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, yeah. You know, I got this thing, I got this thing, Nip tuck over here now. Yeah. But, you know, they're going to do it. Hey, Joe, can you hear me? Joe, mute. Nah, Joe, you muted, Joe.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Hey, guys, I finally found somebody worse that electronics to me and technology. Yeah, I still can't. Oh, there you go. Yeah, we got you now. So it's a very unfortunate situation because, you know, you want to make it much. And plus the thing is you have to get extra money because why, guys, I'm in California, 13 and a half percent state tax.
Starting point is 00:15:44 So I need, I need some way the money that I'm losing. I need the way to get some of that back. And what's the best way to get it back? Okay, you give me extra. So if I'm just making $130, now you give me. an opportunity to make 170. Okay, you know what? All right.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Okay. But a little age 24 meal in my pocket. I can do a little something with that. Yeah. But look, to get said play, I mean, we see this all the time. When you want somebody, when they're coming out of college and it's Google or it's Apple of it. Whatever the case may, alphabet, that of, if you want to get really get one of these top-not
Starting point is 00:16:24 students, oh, Cho, you got to make, you got to make assurances. Okay, I'm going to pay for your apartment the first year, first year. I'm going to pay to relocate you. I'm going to give you an additional. I'm going to start you off at best, but I'm also going to give you a bonus because you're in competition. Yes. Once you're valuable and they know other corporations want your services, now you become a valuable commodity. See, that's how value is created.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Mm-hmm. Boom. And so Kauai, they knew he was valuable. How do I make sure he doesn't go back to Toronto and he doesn't sign with the team that's at the penthouse in the building that we play in? They said no, there's no way he's going to the clippers.
Starting point is 00:17:14 No. So it's going to be, it's going to be, it doesn't look good, but sometimes things to the naked eyes, you know, sometimes the eyes can fool us. It's not a good look. They're going to do their homework, and who knows, maybe they find something,
Starting point is 00:17:26 an Ocho Joe, Joe? Maybe they don't. Yeah. We're going to find out here in what? The next, I say, seven to fourteen days. They're going to find something. You only go find something. Why? So you've been at, see, what happened of him, he and I don't play a big game, Ocho, and he don't mess the settings.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So, so I got one, hold on, one more, one more time, one more time. So y'all really can't, y'all can hear me, or I, y'all hear an echo or what? Yeah, I guess, I guess, I guess in production, they hear it like you talking through your, instead of your microphone, you talking through the computer. Yeah, I can hear you. I'm saying, but I sound funny or something, Ocho?
Starting point is 00:18:14 You look funny, you don't sound funny. You want you want to have log out and then log back on? Okay. He don't know how to fix it. Hell, if he can fix it from Saturday, he could fix it right now. Yeah, yeah, dude, they normally talk me through it, but we ain't been having no problem. We've been gooches. Hey, I like that joke.
Starting point is 00:18:39 They normally, what? They normally talk me through it, but what you do? Okay, okay, okay. Okay. Okay. You hear what you're saying? Yeah. Normally talk me through it.
Starting point is 00:18:47 That's how they do. They're talking right on through it. Yeah. Hey, you know what I'm picking out? Joe, we know what I'm picking out. If it don't come out to wash, it'll come out to rents. Hey, hey, y'all too damn grown to be managed like this, man. You know, what, y'all's so man.
Starting point is 00:19:03 You hear me. I just saying, hey, that's the wrong, uh, wrong choice of words to you, talk you through it. Yeah, that's what I know. That's what we, that's what we normally do. I mean, but somebody else talking you through it. I mean, I never heard that. What, what time is I say? A person that runs with a lie eventually will stumble over the truth because everything
Starting point is 00:19:25 comes to light. Yes, sir, yes, uh. Yeah, you got to pause the whole damn conversation there, though, with her. I can't even have a conversation with. with the nightcap crew about my microphone without talking about some man and stuff. Come on, man. Hey, I'm just saying it's your choice of wording.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Hey, Joe, that's all. Yeah. Hey, Joe, you just tell them. It's all good, Joe. That don't make you no bad brother. I don't make you no bad brother, Joe. Hey, no, Joe, I don't look at you any different. Hey, boy, y'all got a cheer.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Y'all got to cheer, for real. Y'all got to slow down, for real. I mean, you are who we are. At the end of the day, we are what we are. are right now whether you tell us who you are but that's who you are even even in your most private moments with joe johns when joseph johnson is home alone by himself yeah if there's no one else around that's who he is yeah you got looking at me you got to tell ocho and i me and ocho and i can survive all we want to and you got you got to face the music yeah yeah make our stuff look
Starting point is 00:20:30 guilty man when y'all when y'all ared in your hand joe but look look see what i'm saying he'll fly away or you can crush him but the bird is in your hand hmm and again don't make you no bad brook yeah i like that was real profile yeah yeah i mean jay i mean joe think we go but see i think the thing is ocho he think we're going to look at him differently Well, we won't. Yeah, we're not gonna judge you. Hey, we're not gonna judge. I don't know what?
Starting point is 00:21:04 What you mean? Judge me out of what? I mean, I mean, you being talking to yourself. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, ain't no, ain't, ain't, listen, you. Yeah, what's your faith, Chuck? What's your faith, chat? Yeah, they think that you won and Ocho two?
Starting point is 00:21:21 Oh, yeah, yeah, I won. I'm gonna tell you what they really think. I'm gonna tell you what they really think. Chat really think, um, one, and Ocho, you, Ocho, you, Ocho fighting you, because you see what he pulled out the other night. I mean, damn. That alone should make him number one.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Hold on. What, what do you mean? That ain't my stuff? Who stuff was that? I would just bring stuff on to show you and what you could do in your relationship. I don't use it. And plus, Joe.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Yeah, I would be right number third. But we know you're going to win the battle. We already know. Number one seed don't always win. Hey, y'all want me to be, y'all want me to be number one so bad. It ain't going to happen, fellas. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Duh. But here's the question, though, Joe and Ocho. If they do find that the clippers circumvented the cap in order to acquire Kauai services, what is the punishment? What should the punishment be? Ooh. Because he got there in 2019. So the 19, 20, 21, 22, 22, 23, 24, 25.
Starting point is 00:22:29 26. So they basically had basically almost seven, eight years of his service. Yeah, they're going to try to, obviously, you know, they're going to try and put a big fine on them, but they're going to probably take away draft pick. They're going to try to make it tough so they'll have to suffer over the next four to five years. For sure. It'll ruin them. Yeah. Yeah. Now, look, a fine angle, he's the wealthiest, he's the wealthiest sports owner in the world. The man's worth $150, something billion.
Starting point is 00:23:00 So that ain't going to do. You know, you find him a million dollars, $5 million, $10 million, $20 million. That doesn't do anything to his pockets. And he write it off. The only thing, the only way you can get their attention is to take draft compensation.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Yep. Yep. That's it. Take that draft compensation. First round pick. Hell, I don't know if they got any first round picks anyway after what they traded. Yeah, they probably don't. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I ain't sure. But they're going to have to make do with what they got because they're going to damn sure try and punish them. Well, I think this, I don't think you have a choice because what you try to do, punishment should be swift and harsh. But punishment is not about the individual
Starting point is 00:23:48 or the organization that committed the act. It's also about sending a message to deter others from committing said acts. Yeah. Right. Because you already know what happened. Once you find out that calling card, guess what? Now you got about 15 people got calling cards.
Starting point is 00:24:09 And the funny thing about it is there's always some funny business going on, especially when it comes to Venice, with people that have that kind of wealth. Yes. They don't do, they don't say always, not always, Ocho. I hate saying always and ever, but the thing is, and Ocho is talked about this, man, to get that kind of wealth,
Starting point is 00:24:29 you got to step on a lot, you got to step on or step over a lot of people. Yeah. Yeah. I ain't saying you stepping on them, Joe, but you got to step over. Hey, it's a dirty business, man. It's a dirty business. And most of the time when you were, when you were a mass, you know, that kind of wealth.
Starting point is 00:24:45 I mean, you don't play by the book. I mean, you never have any way, you know, let alone. So any short, any shortcuts you can take, any advantage you can, you can do to help your business in any way. And it can tell you to, you know, grow your money exponentially. You're going to do it. you're going to do it. Every issue, the one thing that they do,
Starting point is 00:25:03 if you had that kind of money, is you throw more money at it. That's how you fix everything. And when you have money, what don't you like being told no? Because if you tell me no, Joe, I'm going to put a number out there that you got to say yes.
Starting point is 00:25:17 You can't refuse. So that's what I'll do. You say no, but I'll put a number. I'll put enough zeros where you don't have a, you don't have no, you don't have no, like damn.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Yeah. Cause maybe you got a number in your mind that like, nah, I'm good. But he goes double what that number you had in your mind. You're like, huh? Like Q, remember Q? Like, yeah. And so it's going to be very interesting. I'm going to see, I need them to go ahead and find this thing up.
Starting point is 00:25:54 If they find something, hey, do your punishment, do whatever you're going to do to the clippers. If you don't find anything, let this thing. going and go through because you got other players in limbo also this is not just about kawai yeah you got you got bi this in limbo is reported that they're looking to probably possibly move on move bi somewhere we don't know yeah just been reading you know trying to try to try to see what's going on you got like oh man that dude last name i don't know if i think i might have to change my name hey this a man yeah yeah jo yeah it's okay
Starting point is 00:26:30 He said, listen, that's the family name here. Listen. I'm going to have to go Hollywood. You know, most of the people in Hollywood got different names. That ain't their real name. I'm going to get me. I'm going to have to get me a new day, but I can't. What happened?
Starting point is 00:26:49 And you see the guy, he swapped Jersey with somebody. Did you see the guy he swapped Jersey with? His last name was black. Black, yeah. Yeah. And the other guy's last name was it. Yeah. They're holding the jersey.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Come on, man. Joe, I can't do that, Joe. Come on, Joe. Hey, and they know what they be doing, too. Ojo, you know what he's talking about? Nah, who's talking about? It's a cat from Toronto. He was in the trade, too, going to the clippers up.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Yeah, Grady. His name, Grady. You can't say the word. You can say it. That's his name. His name Grady Dick. Yes. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Yeah. But he traded swap jerseys with a guy. I think from Memphis. Yeah. Now, it was black. For Orlando. The black.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Yeah. His last name was black. Right, right, right, right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:40 And the other one name. Hey, they did that on purpose, man. That's funny. They clouted. Yeah, you got, hey, hey, man. Hey, because most people, like, hey, what's up, Johnson?
Starting point is 00:27:54 They call you by your last name, bro. Don't you call by my last name. Call me Grady. I mean, first of all, I had heard nobody named Grady. Normally people named Grady, you got to be at least 50. At bare middle. Where the last time you heard somebody called Grady?
Starting point is 00:28:14 My, hello, hello. I mean, the last Grady I know is Sanford or something. No, my dad's brother, my uncle, his name, Grady, his name was great. How old is he? I'm 58. I guarantee he older than that. Yeah, yeah, he older than you.
Starting point is 00:28:26 That's what a point. If you, if you 50 are older, you're older, You got them. You okay to be Grady. Yeah, but ain't no 20 year old name, no Grady. Nah, nah, nah, nah. Nah. We close, Ash.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Oh, okay. What's that? What's in three minutes? Ah, Shakur coming on. Oh, let me, hold on. Let me get my head gear. I'm gonna beat his ad. Uh, Joe, you watch the soccer match?
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yeah, man. Uh, yeah. They might as well get a World Cup to the French team. You like France? Man, what? They like a damn super team out there. Well, they're the first team to make it to the semifinals, right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Yeah, I thought Morocco played good. I thought they played decent what hell they goalie played all right. You know, the reps, the reps kept in a decent game. They won't call them out of their BS. But Mbapé, Uncle, if he stayed healthy, he's going to pass all the records messy got. in the World Cup. Well, he already got like 20 goals. Hell, if they, he got half of what they got now.
Starting point is 00:29:46 If they, if they got 16, 17 goals now, he probably got about half of them in the World Cup. He got, what, he got eight, nine? Who that? Mbapé. Yeah, he's at eight now. He's one above Messi. Yeah, he's going to have every record in the World Cup.
Starting point is 00:30:01 No, he tied Messi. Both of them got eight. Oh, dude, he has one more assists. Oh, that's right. Messy just scored. Messy has eight with one assist. He has eight with two assists. Two assists.
Starting point is 00:30:12 So France defeats Morocco two nothing to advance to the semis. Kielin Mbapé scored a studying goal after missing the first half penalty. He tied Lieldell Messi for the lead for the golden boot with eight. Mbapaphi assisted on DeMbele's goal six minutes later to help get this fifth goal of the tournament. Mboppe and Debele have joined Rinaldo and Rivaldo. The only players that have scored more than five goals in the same national team in a single one. World Cup edition. France will face the winner of the quarterfinals between Belgium and Spain in the semifinals on Tuesday and Dallas. Bro. Hey, let me let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Spain, Belgium play tomorrow. Belgium play Spain tomorrow, right? Now, I want you to see the difference on how far we are as a, as a nation when it comes to soccer and the way it should be played at the highest level, especially on the biggest stage. Now, you see how Belgium made us look when we play when they play the USA? Now, watch how Spain. makes Belgium look. Watch this difference. So you can see, and it gives you a better idea
Starting point is 00:31:13 for those who don't watch soccer, understand how far we have to go. Watch how Spain make them look tomorrow at 4 o'clock. Y'all already know. Bobpe has three assists. He has three assists because he assisted them belly. Hey, hey, you see the goal
Starting point is 00:31:27 Mbappe made when he has been that thing around that Moroccan player? Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's amazing how they do that, man. Yeah, and Joe, listen, It obviously is all technique, right? But also the Moroccan player,
Starting point is 00:31:41 because they're close and inside 18, you notice he can close, he can close right? What do you call it in basketball? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, he was scared to close out. I know what I'm saying, because the closer you get to Mbapé, he'll go right by you. So you got to keep some type of distance,
Starting point is 00:31:58 man, he curled that thing right on my mind. And that's the difference, especially for us, for the Americans, we don't got guys who can win one-on-one's like that, bro. One-on-one with them. My baby, he's scoring that thing. Yeah, no. Joe, you notice every time you get the ball, the first thing you do, he face up whoever it is and go right at him.
Starting point is 00:32:14 Oh, Joe. Go right at him. Then Belgrade could do the same thing. Hell, most of their players do the same thing. Even if it's two people, they'll manipulate the space, fake one way and go the other and just go. Hey, man, that's there. Hey, we didn't have that one time in the game when we played against Belgium, not one.
Starting point is 00:32:31 I think the thing is what I've noticed. Every team's best player, they showed up. Yeah. If you go back and look at, look at Spain and look at Mexico, you look at everybody team. For the most part, 90% of the time, their best player showed up. You look at Belgium, their best player, he showed up. You look at France and he shows up.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Messi shows up. Vazina? I mean, our best player? Vizena was off the check. I mean, I mean, what's he at now? 28 million subs from 40 to 46,000? Probably. I mean, followers.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Hey, listen. Yeah, our best player was Pulisic. And Pulisic, when he plays at his club team in Italy, I see him all the time. Face up and take eight. I see him face up and take people alone, Joe. I see him face up and take people alone all the time. So you're saying he can, he can create in a little small type.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Yeah. But what happened? Yeah. What happened? Man, hold on, Pulisic fast as hell. But I don't understand. He was, he was playing. So he was playing so Timothy, he was playing scared.
Starting point is 00:33:35 He lost the ball 11 times. Joe, this ain't, this ain't, this ain't you soccer. And you soccer, you lose the ball 11 times. At the World Cup? Okay, one or two mistakes. Okay, I get it. That happens. 11 times.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Yeah. And they knock, hey, they knock him off the ball so easy. I'm like, God, man. And then you hear him after the game so nonchalant? Oh, my goodness. Even before the game, Joe, he took all this time off. He wanted to rest. He wanted to be, you know, I want to be, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:09 red for refresh so I can go into the World Cup. Bro, you should have kept playing. Yeah. Oh, you're talking about when he missed the Gold Cup. Yeah, we're deciding not to pay the Gold Cup. Yeah. No, you can't do that, man. If you take time to rest, boy, hey, I'm expecting,
Starting point is 00:34:25 I ain't say you gotta be up there with him, Anbape and Messi, but I need you to have at least two or three, but at least three, four goals. No. No, he's supposed to be our one impact player. Obviously, we have other players, you know, that are good, but Plurisic is, he's our star boy. He's our star boy. He just is. I mean, some people in the chat will probably say,
Starting point is 00:34:43 oh, he's not our best player. Okay, whatever you may say, he is our poster child. He is. So you expect him to show up in moments when we need it most because he looked good against everybody else. He looked good against Power. Hey. Hey. But what, he looked good? All he had was an assist. If you go back and look at it, Belagon and Tillman were our best players. Yeah. Yeah, they play well. They play well.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Hey, man, y'all know his levels to this, bro. Best player, best player on paper, best player playing. Those are two different things. So maybe he was our best player on paper. Maybe he was supposed to be our guy, but he wasn't. Yeah, I think he had to be hurt. Well, they said he hurt his leg against Belgium. But what about the other games before they played Belgium that he looked like stir fry?
Starting point is 00:35:38 Okay, I get it. Okay, they say he got a micro fracture or something like that. He's going to miss a couple of weeks. Okay, let's take him and the team at their word. He's hurt. He got hurt against Belgium. What about the other games? And we're going to give him the bill for the doubt, don't you and Joe.
Starting point is 00:35:59 He's hurt. Right. He got hurt against Belgium. But he didn't play well in any of the games. Belegone, like I said, Belagun and Timmer were our best players. Yeah. Yeah. Boy, hey, hey, boy, that's fools go, but, boy, they had me going in first three games, though.
Starting point is 00:36:18 About USA. They had everybody going. What? In the group stage? Yeah, they had everybody going to. What, the way, the way they look, I came on here. I'm hyped. I'm shocked.
Starting point is 00:36:26 I'm like, I don't know who this is. I'm watching. I ain't never seen them play like this. Boy, they got, they got me. They got me good. Yeah, they got me good. Oh, Cho, it was set up. Look at the bracket they had to come through.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Yeah, the group stage, yeah. Yeah. Damn. I remember one year they had the group of death. Okay, yeah, you're not supposed to get out of that. Yeah. But this? Different.
Starting point is 00:36:56 No, stop making excuses. If you hurt, sit down. Because guess what? All they see is that name on the back of the jersey. If you go out there, nobody wants to hear about that. You don't get credit for what he hurt. Okay, so what? So what?

I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Olympic champ Sean Johnson revealed why she had no choice but to be a gymnast. There was something about gymnastics that was intoxicating to me.

Starting point is 00:40:27 know I'm Oof That's incredible, yeah, the only person I know that loves a yellow
Starting point is 00:40:38 Starburst. It's flamed. No, you say, I'd like to collaborate with this person. This is Sweet 305 Listen to Sweet 305
Starting point is 00:40:50 with Lele Pons as part of my Cultura Podcast Network on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jake Brennan, and on the Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars
Starting point is 00:41:03 and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else. Like the time Paul McCartney spent in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Imagine that. You're Paul McCartney. It's 1980.
Starting point is 00:41:22 You're an ex-Beatel, and you're doing time in one of Japan. Japan's worst prisons right there alongside Yakuza gangsters and for a ridiculous charge. Or the bizarre crime Lady Gaga is accused of. Who is the artist Lady Gaga as being accused of doing the unthinkable to, after allegedly stealing her music in style to become famous? And what about that time Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped a serial killer? The man who had given her that ride she barely escaped from,
Starting point is 00:41:55 was Ted Bundy. Listen to Discrace Land on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Joining us tonight, here he is. Comes off a dominant unanimous decision victory over Tia Fimo Lopez and the super lightweight title filed out Madison Square Garden in January. Earned him a world championship in his fourth way class
Starting point is 00:42:15 further cemented his place among boxing, pound for pound elite. Here he is, Shakur Stevenson. Stee, Shakur, how you doing, bro? You muted. muted. You hear me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:32 How you doing, bro? What are you doing, bro? What up? Give us the good news. What transpropso is reported that you're joining Zuffa boxing? Explain to our people in the chat and our listeners and our viewers. What is Zuffa, what is that? And what's your role in it now?
Starting point is 00:42:49 Zufa is a company that's ran by Dana White and Nick Con. Nick Con does the WWE but he's now with Zoufa and Dana White is with UFC but he's now entering boxing too so it's an amazing company I mean I'm the leader of the company
Starting point is 00:43:08 I'm the next the biggest name with the company and now that I'm here it's like shit they got the best of the best with them so it's all good now what was your decision what went in your decision because like you said it is a new company
Starting point is 00:43:25 and here you are, you got a championship in four different weight classes. Like you said, you are the biggest name. Normally, are people that with big names, they're like, okay, let me wait, let me see how this thing shake out. Let me just let them get all the kinks out. And then once I see it's flourishing, I'll go over there then. Why were you so willing to put your name in the situation with a very, very young company? I mean, first priority is I love to get paid.
Starting point is 00:43:48 I love getting money, so at the end of the day, a lot of people said I wouldn't be in this position. They said I was boring. They said, my style is this. But now that we hear, I could sit here and tell you, I told you I told you I. But other than that, but other than that, also, I want the big fights and they got a big vision for me. And their big vision was put me in the ring with the big guys like the Devin Haney's, the Giovante Tank Davis. And that's the shit that I live for.
Starting point is 00:44:20 That's the shit that I'm in boxing for. And I can't wait to show my worth. And listen, I'm glad you said that. I'm glad you called out two names. Obviously, Tank Davis, Devin Haney. But the problem is, and one for me being a boxing purist and loving the sport, loving you is one of my favorite fighters and being able to watch. Now that I know exactly what I'm watching, being able to critique and analyze you round by round,
Starting point is 00:44:43 what is so difficult about making these fights happen? Why is it so difficult for, obviously we know Tank is having this issue, but Devin Haney, I see you and him sometime go back and forth on X most of the time. Why is it so difficult? Is there too many moving parts? Is the money not right? What's taking so long for us as fans? I don't think nothing that's taking so long no more.
Starting point is 00:45:05 I think right now is the right time. I think everything is in the cars of our favor. There's no excuses for why that fight can happen next. I think me and Devin should be the fight that happened next. I agree to 144 and he said he agreed to it. So now if he do his part, I'm going to do my part. part and let's make it happen. Why to catch weight, do you,
Starting point is 00:45:28 cool? Why to catch you wait? Why not? Why not a 40? I don't know if he can go back down to 35, but why, why, why 44? Why not 40 or 47? 40, I would be bringing him down and draining him, and then we would have excuses about why, so, and then 147, he's,
Starting point is 00:45:48 I'm not a 47 pound. I'm a 35 pound of naturally. Like, I can still make, 35 easily, but I'm willing to take risk. Like, I don't give a fuck that he's going to get in the ring 20 pounds bigger. I'm going to beat him while he's 20 pounds bigger, and that's going to make my win even greater. So he agreed to 144.
Starting point is 00:46:08 I agree to it, and now we're here. Let's do it. And matter of fact, and also, if this doesn't happen right as soon, I'm not sure how long of a layoff you would like, how many times you want to actually fight this year, if David, if Devin Haney and his and his team take too long? Is there any else in mind that you would love the fight
Starting point is 00:46:30 before the year? Yeah, I like the fighters like the Gary Russell's and the Lamont Roachins and honestly like speaking, like I'm at a point in my career that I don't need nobody. I don't need Devin Haney.
Starting point is 00:46:43 I don't need Javante Tank Davis. I can make millions and millions of dollars now with Zoufa boxing and fight big names like Gary Antoine Russell and Lamar Rose. I'm into the sport for this reason that now I'm top dog now. So it feels good. I like that.
Starting point is 00:47:05 So you are the A side now. Obviously the game is it's called prize fighting. And now you're in a position where you're able to be the shot call and pick and choose who you want to fight. And man, here, I tell you, I'm excited. I'm excited for you. Congratulations. And I'm looking forward to whether it's Gary, whether there's tanks somewhere down line but Devin Haney I hope it happened before the year is out hey hey
Starting point is 00:47:26 hey Shuku what's up bro I see you shining over the a inch your man yeah yeah hey take me take take me to fight night bro take me to fight night what goes through your mind like the anxiety you know before you go out in the ring what you're telling yourself you know before when you're taking that walk to the ring what is it like what's going through shit I ain't gonna lie my last few fights it felt like destiny I ain't really had to make anxiety. I wasn't too nervous. It felt like I was meant to be where I was supposed to be. I let Destiny take care itself. So shit, I turned into a different mode come fighting night.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Like shit, I know. It's either me or that guy. And you go watch my faith before the fight. You see my face, go look at Tio face. You just see who was going to win and who was going to lose. It was all written right over us. Man, I'm the best in the world. And I can't wait to show why I'm the best in the world. under them bright lights, any of these guys get in front of me, I'm coming to perform. Let me ask you this.
Starting point is 00:48:29 By you joining Zuffer, does it make it more difficult? Because people are going to say now, well, their side is going to say, well, we won't this. And your side is going to say, no, you can't have that because we got the A fighter.
Starting point is 00:48:43 You're the B fighter. Bighton don't work this way no more, man. That's bullshit. At the end of the day, unc. All of us is under one umbrella. All of us is, with Turkey. Turkey brings all these guys in one room.
Starting point is 00:48:55 When they have one room, we all can do business with one another. So if anybody don't want to fight, they're scared to fight, and that's the God's honest truth. Okay, that's what I like to hear, because these are the fights. And look, Ocho is our boxing officiato, but I grew up in the 80s and I remember the four
Starting point is 00:49:13 kings, and I remember the 70s, with all the heavy weights, they fought everybody. And then you had Sugar Ray and Herds and Duran and Iran and I and Barclay and Mark, they fought, and they fought everybody. You guys in an era, because like you said, yourself and Taint Davis and Russell and Roach
Starting point is 00:49:30 and Haney, you guys should be fighting. And there's money to be made. People want to see the best, fight the best, and then we get into terms of, hey, all I know is in the 2020s, man, Taint and Shakur, boy, they got down. I've been told you all that I was one of the best fighters in the world. A lot of people ain't believe me.
Starting point is 00:49:50 Well, now we hear opportunities. he is here and if any of these guys want to smoke with me i'm right here i'm not ducking shit but shakur you saying that let me ask your question if people had if you had never saw if jorne had never played and he says i'm the best basketball player would you have believed it he had to show you i'm the wrong or shack or colby says i'm the best without showing it you're not going to believe that we got to see it the writing been on the water the whole time and i showed it and y'all just ain't i can't read and then you blind and a motherfucker You're blinding the motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:50:24 It already been there. Tiofimo was an example. I made an example out of him and these guys are going to get examples made out of them too. Without who you would like to hear, we like to see that fight. So is it possible we could get one of those, you mentioned it, if there's something that we could get because you fought Tiofimo in I think January, is there possible we can get another fight, say like September. Before the years out, I'm fighting. I do, I fight twice a year.
Starting point is 00:50:49 That's what I do. Before the years out, any of these guys, if they're ready to sign a dotted line, any one of them, I'm ready right this second. And the good thing about it is what I like about what Turkey's also done. And obviously, Dana White and Zulfaboxin is the money's so good now that there should be no reason why the fight can't happen. So we can't. It's called prize fighting for the reason. And we have people in the game now that are paying these fighters to make these fights happen that we as fans want to see. So I'm excited, you know, brother Haney, Mr. Haney, should be no reason. You know, there's really no re-install.
Starting point is 00:51:27 144 it is. And, man, let's get it on. You know, in the meantime, hey, wait, you wait right now anyway. Okay, okay. Yeah, but, man, you got to go pay attention to them fights. You just, you know, you're kind of behind right now. Go watch some fights and it'll show you everything you need to see. I'm a Tici.
Starting point is 00:51:47 I'm a Tici. You don't know what he's looking at. I'm not seeing. I'm a Tici. I think the thing is that we're saying, what you're saying, what you're saying. there is something getting lost in translation. I'm not saying that you're not a great fighter, that you're not a champion.
Starting point is 00:51:59 I'm not saying that, but I think people won't, and you do a great job of hitting and not getting hit. But I think sometimes people want to see you put yourself in harm's way and get down. And I'm not saying, look, and that's what you have to do sometimes. The great fighters, you're going to have to fight. When you step in that ring, you're in harm's way.
Starting point is 00:52:19 stepping in that I disagree with that That's because you never put on the boxing gloves in your life If you put it on a boxing gloves before You'll understand that When you step in that motherfucking square circle You're in harm's way
Starting point is 00:52:33 And when you go watch my last fight Since you're saying I don't put myself in harm's way Who was backing up? Me or Tio But you back him up Who was backing up? You back him up
Starting point is 00:52:47 So I wasn't in arms way Hey, you said you said you were going to do that too. I asked the question. I wasn't I in his way. You weren't, but when I think Answer the question, I never thought you could, I didn't think you could lose the Tiafimo. Now, if you back up Tank, you back up Haney,
Starting point is 00:53:08 you back up those guys, I'm going to come on here and say, Ocho, he made me, he proved me to be a liar. I said he wasn't. You wouldn't have never bet no money that I was going to be Tia Fimo the way did I beat him? Yes, I would have. The way did I beat him? know you wouldn't no no no I don't know anybody ain't nobody ain't nobody
Starting point is 00:53:25 ain't nobody better 11 to win the fight it's your core I can't I don't think I said I was going to write a prize pick a polymarker or somebody to say well how bad is he gonna beat him and well he going to beat him well he going to beat him this bad and they said I was going to I would have I would have bet money that you would he said I was going to run who rain but if you if you win it doesn't at the end of the day if you win but for me I think for me I'm just like I've I've seen guys your size fight. I may weather coming up through the ranks and was flooring people until his hands became brittle. And I watch Sugar Ray and I watch and Hurried and I watch what I'm confused about is now it
Starting point is 00:54:05 sound like you're down playing Tio. Like it sounds like this is a downplaying like who Tio is. I mean, Tio then showed you how great he is in other fights. Why wasn't he that great that night? I'm not saying he's not great. And we could talk about the way that you fight. No. not into hitting and being hit.
Starting point is 00:54:25 If that's what you're asking me, I won't do that. I will hit and don't hear you. Are you, so, so are you trying to be, are you trying to be when they talk about lightweights and super lightweights and, and junior weldawaits? Are you trying to be in that sure. I'm not comparing myself to none of these. I'm trying to be the first, of course, Stevenson.
Starting point is 00:54:44 You want, at the end of my career, I don't believe, you're going to say, you're going to say, why was his fight so easy? Why wasn't he hurt? Why was, why, Because I'm that great. That's what you're going to say. We're not saying that you're not great, Shakur, but I don't believe, and this is my opinion. Joe has his opinion.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Ocho believes you hung the moon. I don't believe that you're going to get the credit you deserve without knocking people out. That's why you never boxed before. That's not boxing. That's how I know you never boxed before. Floyd, maybe you could talk about Floyd may, well, you can say the guys that he knocked out. But in the tail end of his prom, he wasn't just knocking guys out. This is not true.
Starting point is 00:55:24 No, because the hand got brittle. Exactly. I got hand problems too. What's the difference? Well, I didn't know that. My bad. Everybody know that. That's why you ain't been doing your homework.
Starting point is 00:55:34 You've got to do your homework. Hey, but hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. I mean, listen, I love boxing, Joe. I'm sure you watch it. You watch it as well. But boxing is more than just knockouts. Now, knockouts, being able to have it is really good.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Like being a slugger in baseball and hitting home runs. The fans love it. But most of the time, when it comes to someone, of the greats that's not all boxing is they called the street science oh you're just not in tune man you got to get into some homework you ain't do your homework you got efs on your homework man you got all s you grew up but but you can't you can't say just because i don't like your style that i don't know why you don't i grew up in an era with sugar right and it was not you just told me that i don't put myself in harm's way by getting in the ring that's what you told me that let me know that you don't do
Starting point is 00:56:22 But you talk about one fight. You talk about Tiofimo. What about all the other fight? I'm not, hold on. Am I the only said that about you? I was wondering one thing. Am I the only one that's ever said that about your fighting style? Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:34 A lot of people that don't know boxing say that. No, no, no. Am I the only one? You can't use a public opinion for cartoons. Am I, no. Are you the only that said this? No, you are not. Are you the only casual that said this?
Starting point is 00:56:47 No, you are not. Let me ask you a question. So no other fighter has said that about your fighting style that they're not, They're not happy with your fighting style. You know what I mean? Fighters wish they could fight like me. I know, hold on. Can I talk?
Starting point is 00:57:00 Can I talk? Can I talk? You know how many people go home with, wait, wait, wait, wait, got to go to the doctor, got to go get their brain checked out, got to go. They wish they could do what I do. They prayed like, I wish I had them skills. If I had them skills, they will go home to their family safely. You know what people?
Starting point is 00:57:19 People don't go to their family safely, huh? So no boxer. no boxer, no god has ever fought, has said anything that I've said about your fighting style. You're asking a subjective question. I can't tell you. I'm telling you that you sound like a...
Starting point is 00:57:33 So you're subjective, why are you getting so upset with me? We're debating. We're having a good debate. I've called you 100 times. That may I look at you like an hump, right? So I got respect for you. I got respect for you. But I don't got respect for you.
Starting point is 00:57:47 But I don't got respect for that. Do your homework and stop getting... Eps. You said you're getting F. You got an F on all your homeowner, man. You said, okay, it's hard for me to believe all the fighters that I can remember that people put a place up high were entertaining. They put that they have to- And I'm not saying that you got to put yourself where you get not to do it.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Some fans that enjoy the sport of boxing, I'm very entertaining. Hey, A, Ocho, am I entertaining? Yeah. Hello You gotta be able to pull the non-boxing fan in You can You already got those guys You already got the boxing fan
Starting point is 00:58:34 I'm playing for millions of dollars man I don't have to do nothing but go there and there And do my job Okay, what you do it Appreciate you man That's what I love doing my job man Hey Can we talk about something more important

If you ain't got no problem making $140, 40, you probably walk around somewhere between 38 and 45. I'm going to tell you. I know. I'm not worried about you, though.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I'm not. There's a hostile takeover. I'm going straight to your knees. I'm going straight to you. I'm going straight to tell you that. But see, that's your mistake because you got to get close. You ain't got no reach like that. You're going to try to get close to me.

I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Olympic champ Sean Johnson revealed why she had no choice but to be a gymnast. There was something about gymnastics that was intoxicating to me. It's given me a belief that we all have one of those treasures inside of us. We just have to find it.

You wouldn't bet no money on that. Yeah. I got my money on shit, girl. You wouldn't bet no money on. I put my money on Ocho.

Starting point is 01:11:24 I don't think you're going to be at a beach, Cawl. Ocho go smother. Oh, Joe, Joe. Joe, Joe. Hey, Joe, I've been studying Shakur like a, like a, like a, like a goddamn professor. I know every move. Hey, um, bet some money on it.

Starting point is 01:12:34 He know that. You ain't know. You're going to ask about me. Do your homework, man. I keep trying to tell you how to do y'all. Y'all not doing your homework, man. Go ask about you. You.
Starting point is 01:12:46 If you say, you be in the gym more than me, you don't do your homework. No. I been in the gym. You weren't even going to go on when I was in a gym. That's your thing about. But he is in the gym. He'd be putting his time in. I don't know if he'd be smart or what he was in a mess.

Starting point is 01:13:39 Pull up. Hey, hey, before you get in the ring with me, ask Ronnie Shields about me. Man, stop me, man. Who do you spar at Ronnie Shields, Jim? Yeah. Name one fighter and you sparred. Ask Ronnie what I do to his fighters. All right. Both Charlo, both charlo. You act like you put his hands on Charlo. You ain't put no hands on Charlo. No, but I'm in the ring with him. When you made you a couple of blows from it. Charlo, whoopo, you know, they don't worry about it. Hey, animal, I'm gonna put your ass down. Damn!
Starting point is 01:14:13 Don't be bad at me, because, Charlie. Hold on. Hey, Ocho, you can't, you can't, you can't fight you. You can't fight you boy now. Now, it's just, I think I'm going to use my jabby. Yeah, yeah, we go. Hold on, what will be all you're going to use your jam? That's all I need.
Starting point is 01:14:29 Damn, Chicago. Let him, he's going down. He's going down. For one, I'm going to be on the phone. He's going down. Jeremy. I'm going to be on the phone. You're going to put him down with a body shot.
Starting point is 01:14:41 He's going down. Trust me. He's going down. We got the same defense. I got the same defense. He's not going to be able to hit nothing. What? I'll just say he'd be pairing punches.
Starting point is 01:15:03 He'd say, hey, everything you thought he's shooting it down. Hey, I'm blocking, paring, getting that, man, get that shit up out of here. And I'm going to talk to you to hold on. I'll put one glove on. Okay. Damn. Get your ass, now you're trying. You're trying.
Starting point is 01:15:18 I put one glove on. So we can't, but all seriousness. I mean, we appreciate your time tonight. But we can't expect you to be in the ring at some time before the end of the year. Yeah, for sure. I'm in the ring before the end of the year for sure. So one of the four fighters is he's going to be tank it's going to be hainy it's going to be Russell or it's going to be roach it's going to be one of those four fighters yes that's what I want yes

Starting point is 01:16:21 I bet you. I bet you. I like it. Hey, come on. Hey, I need to put a call in the tank. Anybody got tank number? Stay no more. man, just make sure you bet me.
Starting point is 01:16:31 That's all I ask. Oh, I don't, I don't bet no book. I don't really bet. I mean, me and Ocho, we have friends. I want real money, though. Don't play around with it. I want real money. Hold on, money, money.
Starting point is 01:16:44 What do you mean? Like something like you got real faith in that person. But here's the face. The problem with betting is that it's just like anything else when you bet. You don't really control the outcome. Somebody else is. No, but I'm betting against you. So I control the outcome.
Starting point is 01:16:59 so I but I ain't in the ring but but it's about what you believe in what you believe I believe yeah I'm no but are you going back back me not just bat me bet back I'm going to bet you back me oh Lord he wants he won't he won't really I want to dig into your pockets what you thinking more like 40 50 K shit I think more than that damn damn well a day when that time you fight take we'll come up with something we'll come up something to make it work I appreciate you perfect I get me 10 give me 10% I'm telling I can give me 10% now I'm just saying because when you win I'm gonna be it's gonna be because of me I told you you good you come to camp anytime I'm gonna be no I don't hey see there you go

Starting point is 01:19:02 Hey. Do a real punch, um. Throw a real punch. Hey, I'm Captain, I'm Captain Hook number two. Let me see a real punch, though. Let me see, like, let me see one of these, a little shadow box. Hey, uh-uh, no, I ain't gonna give you no cute, cute. Go, will you run a moment?

Starting point is 01:19:54 You're going to beg to stop going to. Damn, man. Now I know you bluffing. You're telling me you bluffing. Let me see a little. Loose. Like, you ain't got nothing. See, hey, all that right there, I'm coming through that guard.

Guest stars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chryssel, the mayor himself, Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Man, and many more. Kyle is going for it here.
