SGA, 32 points, 9 assists, 2 steals. Alex Caruso picked up where he had left off in the previous first three games. 22 points, six assists, three steals. Isaiah Hartinstein was really the heart and soul tonight. 12 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, six of eight. He's plus 24, and he did a great job of keeping Victor Wimbi Yama off the board because Wimby only had six rebounds. But Hartinstein was sensational night.

Six of those rebounds of the 15 were offensive rebounds. because Jerry McCain was inserted into the starting lineup, and he played extremely well. Spurry's got to do a better job of taking care of the ball, Joe. It's really that simple. You cannot let them get the 70 at the half because they can play out of place. Most teams can't get to the number that they can get to.

Right, right. I mean, you did a great job. You had them to 29 in the first, and then they damn need to get 40 in the second. You get over 30 plus in the third. You're not going to be okay, C, if you allow them to play like that, if you give them that many second chance opportunities,

If you do not do a better job of keeping them off the three point line, and tonight they were going down because a lot of those shots they had in game four, they had some of the same shots. They just didn't knock them down. They knocked them down tonight. But you better not give them too many chances at you because, guess what? They're going to make you pay for those, Joe. How were the Thunder able to regroup, Joe,

because we saw them get blown out in game four by 20 plus and they come back and they win by 13 tonight? What was the difference between game four and game five? The difference to me, y'all can old show, You got to look at Chek Hungris. Look how he came out aggressive, how he started the game. In the first half, he had 12 points, but I know he only finished with 16. But I thought he was assertive, you know, in that first half to start the game

when everything was looking, you know, it wasn't looking great for Shea. She wasn't playing well. You know, and he's addressed that. And he's addressed that. But I thought Chek picked it up with his aggressiveness, you know, having that thrust to get into the rim, trying to make plays. and he got a few to go down. And y'all know, man, in this league, all it takes is for one or two to go down

and you get a little confidence. And I thought he got off to a great start. Caruso has been unbelievable. He has been unbelievable. I'm talking about because when he comes in the game, it's never a letdown, bro. It's either we keep it steady or he take you to another level. I think he's been great. You look at McCain who stepped right in.

He don't mind. Look, he don't had a prettiest game because there's a guard. you know, when you see guys bring the ball up, he don't really, he'll move with that fluidity, you know, like a, like a Kyrie or a Shay or, you know, guys like that. But he's so effective, bro. He gets it done. And he's not afraid of the moment.

Shea needs another guard next to him who don't mind, you know, putting up some shots and, you know, and making big shots. I think OKC, man, they came out and put their step on the game. Home court advantage is going to come to play in this series. I don't think OKC can win games. but they look great. I mean, you look at it. Jerry McCain had the same number of shots.

The Shea. Both of them got the ball up 19 times. He's not afraid. He will, hey, on a kickout where you might say, hey, pull, no, hell, nah. He's like, nah, nah, this shot been to go up. This shot going up. Ocho, you have the Spurs.

Yes, sir. They came out, and I thought they played good. They got OKC to call a time out. And then right out of the time out, guess what? The Spurs get the ball back, turn them. over. When they do it again, turn over. At some point time, Joe, oh Joe, Castle has to do a better job of taking care of the basketball. And he's got to stop. I understand Joe, I don't want to rob him of his aggressiveness.

But Joe, you picking up files 90 feet from the basket. That's crazy. And you're going to put him in the penalty. So now they're in the penalty with six minutes to go. Yeah, yeah. The whistle is all the, the rest whistle is already on a hair trigger. you put them and Shay's going to have the ball 90% of the time 16 to 17 from the free throw line. Yeah. Oh, Joe, how are your team going to get back in this thing? Listen, I don't know. They need to have a conversation.

We talked about this. I don't know in length already a few, a few games ago about Castle. And I asked you and Uncle, Joe, you and I asked Joe, what can the coach tell Castle where he can still be himself and play with controlled aggression without fouling so much, without getting so much foul trouble. There were two things that's wrong with him. He's fouling, he's fouling too early too often, and he's turning the ball over at a high clip and then putting his team in harm's way.

Hey, here's a problem we got here. I'd rather have my dog out there barking getting down, and I had to pull it. I had to pull him back a little bit versus me having to push him out there saying, you know, sick him, go get him. You feel what I'm saying? Yeah. You're going to have to live with some of these mistakes that Castle's going to make, bro. He's a young guy. Hey, listen, he's guarding a two-time MVP who shot 53% from the field throughout the regular season. He's only had one game in this series to where he shot 50% and I think that was like game two. And I think he had 30 points. He was right at 50%.

So I'm not, I mean, I understand Castle has made some mistakes, but we can kind of, you know, we're going to have to make do with some of them mistakes. We're going to have to pick it up in other areas. You know what I mean? I just think for the Spurs to win in OKC again, obviously I think it had to be a game seven, but I think it's going to be tough, bro. Their role players play too great at home.

Yes, I agree. Go ahead, Ocho. I was going to say outside of that, we didn't get much from Bacill tonight. We didn't get much from Fox tonight. Wimby wasn't Wimmy. Obviously, most of the time, average than 30, he only had 20. Champagne, you know, he was 8 for 15, Pofé from three.

Hartnstein did one hell of a job, did one hell of a job on Wembe and not really allowing that many second chance points for the Spurs. I mean, they just played well. And that goddamn Crusoe again, and we talk about him every, every series, you know, to this point. and he's playing extremely well, extremely well. And he's been a huge different maker for them. Man.

The thing is, Joe, I get what you're saying about not wanting to try to harness him too much. But I think the thing is he breaks their momentum. Yeah. Joe, we got a seven, eight point lead. And then he gives up a couple of turnover than commit foul. Yeah, yeah.

It's a tie ball game. Yeah, yeah. And that's what we saw tonight. And then a couple of times, I'm like, bro, where are you passing the ball? Yeah, yeah, he gets, he gets a little out of control now. Yes. Yeah.

And I'm looking at Dylan Harper, bro, you got one of the best on ball defenders in front of you. And you try to get cute. And guess what? He's going the other way with it. You don't got handles like Kyrie. You don't have those kind of handles. Maybe eventually you will, but understand who you're going up against. There are certain situations of Joe, you just got to go.

Yeah. All that fancy dribbling, it looks good. I mean, you had to, oh, look at him dancing. Oh, hell, he's going. He's snatching back. Oh, he's going again. Here he come. And he, ah, I, ah, ah, ah, ah.

You put that ball in front of him? Yeah. Thank you. Hey, the funny thing about it, Joe, too. When you had opinions like that, that are very good, especially lattery, they can move in public, left and right. Yeah. It's the same thing with a DB.

If you know you have a DB, that's very good in man-to-man. Yeah. You always want to put the pressure on you. the pressure on them first. Yeah. Because you're in there dancing and trying to be cute. All that does is plays into their hands. Yeah.

It makes it, it's an advantage for them, what you plan around, pick a side, make one move, and just go. Yeah. Hey, look, look. As a young player, bro, you have to learn that on the fly. Y'all got to remember now,

Dillon Harper, he's a rookie. But I agree, I agree with you. You got to get the hell up off that ball, you got to know who guarding you. All that plan, you got to get it, you, all that high, ha, ha, is getting one high. It's going to get one high, and it's time to go.

You can't get playing around, bro. Hey, Joe, hey, Joe, how many, how many? You get one high, high. Go on get by them. Yeah. Because you play it. Because you playing around with the wrong one, you got to know who you can do that with and who you can't.

You know what I mean? Because them turnovers that they were having him, Harper and Castle. Yeah, they were leading the buckets, bro. Yes. They were leaving. And they were demoralizing. I understand what you all. Sam, they got to get better in that aspect.

And I get, Chad, what you're saying? Well, Castle only had three turnovers. You don't understand. What if somebody only has one drop, but it's on fourth down in the fourth quarter, and you turn the ball over? Yeah. So he only had one drop. That's an important drop.

Yes. So you understand. See, you just look at the number. See, I look at the situation in the ball game where we are. Yeah. And we got momentum. Now he gets two of those turnovers and create files. We got a seven, eight point league.

guess what? Ball games tied. Yeah. Tonight, Hardinstein outplayed Wimby. Wimby is sitting up too far outside. He ain't get nothing easy, Joe. He's got to get down on the block some.

I'm not saying he has to spend the lion's year of his time down there, but he's got to get closer to the basket. Everything he's catching them all down there, the three-point line. Yeah, because he don't want their resistance. Oh, he gets inside the three. We got this elbow in his back. Yeah. We got these, oh, we push.

That's resistance that he has to go against every time, you know, coming into that pain. I think what happens is Chad Pennieson got off to a great start and it kind of... You mean Chad? No, Chapney. Champany.

I think he scored in here. I think he had like 12 points in the first quarter. He did. He got hot. Yeah, and I think it kind of got, you know, kind of got guys off rhythm a little bit to where, look, Fox never really got into the game.

You know what I mean? No, no, he struggled tonight offensively. He did, he did. He did. And Vaseel. never really got into it neither. You know, because Penny was so hot. Dan, you know, Wimby and Harper and Kassel,

all those guys take over as far as handling the rock and making plays. But to me, man, I just think with the experience that OKC has, it just seems like, to me, they're going to prevail throughout this series. Hey, you know what, too, Unger's joke? Wemby being a three-level score and the fact that he's allowing Hardinstein to make him one-dimensional

because he doesn't want to deal with the pushing in the show, and fight, excuse me, fight his way down and the block being able to play with his back to the basket, he can't allow them to do that. He got to find a way. I'm not sure who. I said, I'm not a head coach. I'm just saying when you can score in a multitude of ways, you can't allow a player to dictate what you want to do. And you got Hardinstein and Chek Hongwood. They outplayed him on. Them two got to outplay Wemby. They did. 28 and 16, what they had. Yeah, they did tonight.

Even if you just take Hardinstein, Hardinstein, I played him head up. Yeah. And the thing is, is that what we talked about, Joe, those two guys need to be, they need to be equal to, if not better. Yeah.

Because now we've neutralized him with our two guys, and now we got Shay. Because we know Shay's going to win his matchup. Yeah. So now if we get those two guys to neutralize Wemby, we good. Joe, I thought the fishers had a bad stretch. That was a goaltending on Cornyn.

How did they miss that? The ball went up. The ball went up chapped foot. How do you miss that? And the ref trying to get a challenge, and y'all like, no, come on. Joe, you can't miss that. Now, in the international rules, you can go to it.

Right, right, right, right. But you can't do that in the NBA. I mean, the man got, look, I understand, both of them got size 30 shoes. One got a boat, the other got a yacht. But the ball went out with Jetfoot. It did. It did.

Yeah. Hey, man. I don't know what the rest be looking at. I don't know either. And Shay, 17 free throws, man. You know what I think? I'm thinking, you know what?

They might need to cap it. You can only shoot 10 free throws in a game. What? That's your max. They said, come on, man. Hey, hey. And when I was watching, especially in that first quarter, Arcan Ocho, his body language was, it was funky.

It was stank. Yeah, he's struggling from the field job. He knows in order to get the numbers he's getting. I mean, he's got to go to the free throw line. And he does, look, he's done a great job of creating that contact. But sometimes they talk about, because the other night, they called a file on Fox, talking about Fox didn't impede his landing space. Right.

He likes to come down all funky. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He does. It does. But it's, I don't know. I just know is that if they're going to knock down shots like this, it's going to be hard for them to defend. And like what they did over the night, Joe,

I thought they overhelp tonight. Yeah. In game four, they didn't overhelp. I thought they overhelp tonight and left some guys wide open. The first thing I'm going to do is that I'm going to run Caruso off the corner three. If you let him hit that first corner three, your ass in trouble. Yeah. Now, it's not to say that he can't hit.

The other points are the three. But he really loves that corner three. He does. And you've got to get him off of it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, they got to make some adjustments, man. You know, because you're going to have to give up something.

If you're collapsing every time the ball hits the paint, that's what you give up. You're going to have to give up them sprayouts. You're going to have to give up some contested threes. You know, San Antonio has been great. I think in men and just isolation, defense, playing, playing Shea. head up and not too much help, not overextending. Yeah, you got away from a couple times tonight. But for the most part, man, they've kept him under wraps, bro.

I'm talking about that first quarter, he was pissed off at itself. I can see it. You know what I mean? And I think they've done a great job. So if Check Homrich, he has to continue to be aggressive and play with that thrust. Because he's going to, he need a number two guy who are going to really come along. See, every game, his number two guy has been somebody. different.

Shays. So, yes. He got to continue to, you know, hopefully somebody come off this bench and continue to come along for the ride. And I like, I like McCain. It was his first start, 20.7 for 19. And let me know you ain't scared of the moment, bro. Because you get them shots up.

Yes. And I think the thing is, Joe, is that I thought, I thought the Spurs bench didn't play bad. They got out score 40 to 36. But that's better than damn 70-60-10 or 76 to 15. or the number they've been getting scored by, remember Joe, plus 33, plus 34. We saw what it did happen in game three. Hell, they had 76 bench points.

They had more points off the bench than the starters have. So they've done a great job. Tonight, they really did a great job. I thought Kelton Johnson had one of his better games. Carter Bryant could hit a couple of shots, but they got Harrison Barnes. That's four minutes of time that I'm watching the TV. I can never get back. Now, I realize that at some point in time in my life, I'm going to wish I had those four minutes back.

Yeah. And the problem is, is that he's not a sharp locker. So like you said, Joe, the lane opens up. He's up and rebounds. How many opportunities did they get, he got, they got the rebound and kick out for a three. Oh, and they get a file call. Yeah. Yeah.

And it's like, it's like when Wembe goes to the big, Shay is one of the few guys that you'll ever see in your lifetime that when he goes to the bit, their team goes on the run. Right. Absolutely. And that's not a knock on him, Chad. I'm not saying anything, but y'all see it. So I don't know, I don't know, I don't need to preface that with a caveat.

When he goes to the bench, they're going to run. It's facts. Yeah. Denae, the game is in San Antonio, right? Yes, game six. Thursday night. Yeah. We got game six.

We got games six. I think when, when she goes to the bench, they're less predictable. Yes, you know, because you got guys now, the ball really, really. really hops and, you know, everybody can penetrate the paint and spray out for three. And then you got Hardinstein with his activity, being on the rim, getting them second chance points. That's what gets you over the hump, bro. It's the little things you're going to have to do to continue to win or to advance to the final.

So I think OKC, they're willing to do that. They are. But I thought it was Hardinstein's activity early. Yes. Yeah. Now, Shet, Shet too wrong. Shet being aggressive and a little bit more efficient than he has been in the past few games. Yes.

I still need more shots from Chick, though. I mean, I know he was great six for nine, but damn, I need, I need a few more shot attempts from him. Well, I think the thing is that when McCain took 19 and Shay took 19, that's 38. Hartinstein was six of eight, but you know, Hartnstein is going to be dunk, lob, or it's going to be that floater. And so you can't just look at it and say, well, this guy only had one turnover. We got had two turnovers. You have to look at when you turn the ball over and what did your turnovers lead to. Yeah. Thank you. Come on, Spurs.

Don't do me like that. No, I think, look, you've got to look at OKC. They're not really trying to get up off this throne. When you've been king, you'll do everything that you possibly can to keep the crown. Yes, sir. But, hey, J-dub not even playing, Joe. Well, here's a problem. If Fox or Harper, if both of them don't play well,

I don't think they got a chance of hell of winning the game. No. Because both of them handle the ball too much. know, careless turnovers, you know, not really making shots. He's playing. He's two-way player. he's gone the two-time MVP, and he putting up these type of numbers with this type of efficiency, and we're going to have to deal with a couple turnovers. You know what I mean? Yes, I agree. And I think the also, Joe, is that, Cosey, look here, sir,

I understand I love your aggressiveness, but we can't have you. I mean, because he's at five files every game, Joe. He gets his money worth. But when you pick up those files, now it takes a lot of that aggressive out of you because you picked them up so early. Yeah. And picking file up 94 feet.

And Castle door his job, bro, making him work. for any and everything he'd get. I mean, he played 37 minutes. Look, I mean, the Spurs had three guys with 20 plus points, but they only shot 40% from the floor. They had some really good looks at some shots that didn't go down.

It's a make or miss league. The other game four, they made those shots. OKC missed them. Tonight, the rolls were reversed. Now, okay, will the spurs come out and play with that sense of urgency, with that sense of desperation that we saw from OKC? Yeah. They ain't got no choice.

Well, hey, hey, hey, hey. Now we got to put it back on Wimby now because if he has one of them monster games, this is what changes it. But if he plays average like this, no, they can't win. Yeah, you can't win. No. If you look at the games that they won, he's been phenomenal. Yeah.

Look at game one. Look at game four. He didn't play bad in game two. He had 21 and 17, but his imprint, his fingerprint wasn't on the game like it was in game one in game four. Yeah. He has to be that. Yeah, there are a very few times that your team can win a game without your superstar going off. Now, we've seen OKC win some games with shit, but they're not there yet.

They're still really, really young. Yeah. As young as this team is, this is. This is a veteran ball club now. Don't look like, well, man, this guy's only 24. But look, I mean, they're in the Western Conference Finals this year. They went to the NBA finals and won last year. They were in the Western Conference Finals, if I'm not mistaken, a few years ago.

So this is a veteran ball club when it comes to these type of scenarios. Ben, they're done that. And the more you're in these situations, the more calming and the more at ease you are of being in these situations. You know what too? when I think about it too on. If you think about. What you think about? Wimby, not playing well tonight, right?

He had, what, what 60? He had 19 tonight, right? He had 20, he had 26 and 20 points, six rebounds, one assist, two steals, three blocks. So, he only had one rebound at the half, though. You can't do that. That's not going to cut it.

And obviously the thunder know that. If we can nullify Wemby, not allow him to get down in a little close, not allowed him to do anything from you know from mid-range always have my at the goddamn arc you know trying to play from out there he wasn't efficient from three so what do we do in that game we take that same formula and we try to do the same thing so if they take him win me away that mean everybody else got to step up joe fox can't have a night again like he had the night but seil can't happen to the night like he had the night they just can't so what if they say

you know what, we're not letting women get nothing. Everybody else is going to have to beat us. I don't know how. Outside of Champany and got them that damn castle, everybody else got to step up because they might go into,

they might go on to the next game and say, you know what, Wimby ain't getting nothing at all. That's what. Well, the problem you have, if he's not having one of those extraordinary type of games, Ocho, You know, you don't really, he don't draw all that attention.

See, if he gets going offensively and he's affecting the game, and then, well, okay, boom, now we got to double him. And he's spraying out. He's getting assists, you know, and he's scoring and getting second chance points. That's when they're a much better team because he opens up the floor for the guys around him. I think the thing that they're doing, that they didn't do the first two games, is that they're finding him and they're putting a body on him. Yeah.

Whether it's Hardenstein, whether it's Chet, whether it's Lou Dore, whether it's Shay. Because he got a couple of files. Yeah. Because, you know, he's trying to put a body on him. He's like, I got to hold it. Yeah. So if you notice, no matter where the ball goes up, somebody got,

find him, just like when you're in high school. Yeah. Find somebody and put a body on him. Yeah. No free. It's kind of easy when you, you know, you got a guy and the shot goes up. But zone is kind of hard because you're just like, okay, I'll block out of area. And you let guys slip through the crack.

but I thought okay C has done a great job since game two because remember Joe he was averaging 20 rebounds a game through the first two games yeah now that's gone all the way down I don't think he's had maybe maybe one I don't even know if he's had another double-digit rebounding game yeah because they've made a concerted effort to make sure when that ball goes up be it offensively or defensively we've got to locate him and put a body on it yep don't give his ass no

free runs and hit to the rim. None of that. Chug him. Every chance you get, put a body on him and look. Hopefully, throughout this series, it wears him down. Since game one and two, like, oh, Ocho, since game one and two,

he ain't really had really that type of effect on the game like that, you know, from a defensive standpoint, you know, 20 rebounds. If he gets you 20 rebounds and 20 points, bro, it's hard to beat him if he's playing like that. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And the thing was, he was efficient with it.

Yeah. Now, if he's going to get, if he's going to have to take 25 shots to get 30 points, and he's only going to make 11 of them. Yeah. Now, he's going 14 or 25 and getting you, Joe, getting you 18, 19, 23, 24 rebounds, you're going to have hell on your hand because now you've got to come. They haven't had to double him. Yeah.

They didn't double him tonight. So he wasn't able to locate open guys. He had a couple of careless turnovers, but hey. And I think that, I think that physicality is messing with him, though. Think about it. He's 0 for five tonight from three. Did he make a three? He made the last game.

Did he make a three last? Yeah, I remember he had to work in half court. Yeah. O for five. And he opened up the game with a three. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. O for five tonight, though, seems as though, you know, he don't really have a lot of legs, which is why his rebound in is down so much.

much. And I think the physicality is weighing in on it, you know, throughout this series. And if you, OKC, this is what you want. We want to try to wear him down. That's all we can do, Ocho. We can't do nothing else. A boy too big, man. Right? Yeah. Yeah. If. Yeah. If, if Hardinstein and Chet plays like this again and Wemby plays like he played tonight, there will not be a game seven. He played the entire second, first quarter, and he's not coming in to probably about seven and a half, maybe seven minutes. Every once in a while, he'll come in at the eight minute mark. But for the most part, he's not coming in before seven minutes.

but they weathered the storm, and when they hit back, and it seems like, I thought what you call it was making a run, what, that third quarter? Yeah, yeah. Cut it, when they cut it to six Joe? Yeah, yeah.

I thought, okay, I mean, they cut a 20-point lead to, what, how many? Five. They cut a 20-point lead to five, just like that. Yeah. That's the scary thing, hey, and that's the scary thing because you know the potential that the Spurs have and what they could potentially do. Like, it wouldn't be a lot of people surprised if the Spurs won this series, but I just think some of the mistakes that they make just come back to Honnbrough because they're so young.

Yep. But they're never out of a game because of how hard they play and they compete. So they're never going to be out of the damn game. Yeah, like you say, they, they, they, they. chop back into their lead so quick and then they say, you know, boom, a couple turnovers said, now you back down nine, 11, you know what I mean?

Mm-hmm. And I think the thing is is that what makes you, okay, C, so unique is that a lot of teams don't have the answer. Like when the spurs go on that run, a lot of teams can't withstand that onslaught. Right. Okay, C, like, okay, y'all go, you know,

oh, y'all just wanted a 14-2 run. Watch this. Oh, my. Now they go on a 12-4 run. Yeah. Yeah. And push the lead right back. You cut it down to five, now it's right back to 14, just like that. Yeah. But one thing we got to remember now, we're watching two of the best defensive teams in the NBA.

You know, two great defensive teams making it hard on one another. That's why you see so many peaks in valleys, like great performances then, you know, not as great.
