TJ Watt agrees to a three-year extension worth $123 million.
He becomes the highest non-paid quarterback in NFL history.
$108 million of that is fully guaranteed.
The four-time All-Pro Edge Russia in 2021 defensive player of the year tied an NFL record
with 22.5 sacks.
At $41 million per year, Watt deals sneaks past Miles Garrett,
record setting deal four years at $160 million
agreed upon in March.
Watt also leaps far Jemar Chase $40.3 million deal
for the highest non-paid quarterback in NFL history.
Now, there are no more lingering issues. You know, Cam Haywood had
his thing last year. He's in camp. T. J. Pot was standing on business. He's in camp. They
signed Aaron Rodgers in free agency. They traded for Jalen Ramsey. They signed Daria
Slate in free agency. They signed DK Medcalf in frequency Pittsburgh out of excuses. Yeah
Absolutely, what?
Can we expect from the Steelers this year now? I don't know what I'm expecting the Steelers offensively
I don't know because I don't know what we're gonna get out of Aaron Rodgers
We saw we saw what it looked like with the Jets obviously one one season having an injury
Again, I always say we'll see flashes of Aaron Rodgers
Offensively DK Metcalf is going to be one of those we have to be one of those players him and Calvin Austin the third
The type of receivers that elevate the quarterbacks play
They have to elevate the quarterback play and always be on 10
Offensively, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are now
Defensively on paper.
That is their identity.
You know, the days of Antonio Brown is Antonio Holmes and Hines Ward and Ben
Brothersburg at the helm where they throw the ball.
Maybe on late.
Yeah, maybe on belt.
Those days are gone.
Those days are gone.
So their identity now in a passingly in a past Happy League era has now switched back
to the identity being their defense and they're gonna have to play like it and they're
going to have to win using their defense. They're gonna have to lead them. I like
the fact that they got TJ Watt done. Yeah. I think everybody I think everybody's
happy. TJ becomes the highest played non-quarterback. Right. Steelers get the
years they want they didn't want to go five they didn't want to go six years. They didn't want to be, you know, we got this guy and we on the hook.
He got a boatload of money. He got 108 million of the 123 fully guaranteed. Yeah. Yeah. I hear
I hear some. I don't care. Hey, you know what? I don't even want that. I don't that extra 15.
I'm good. Oh, Joe. Right. You gave this man a three-year deal, 108. So you gave this man, damn,
that 80, I don't know what that is, 87, 88% of the money, guaranteed, fully guaranteed.
Yeah. And you know, you hear in some things I don't like, I hate hearing people say,
oh, he's too old, he's over the hill. And I'm like, I mean, dude, I'm like, what do we talk about?
What do we talk about here? We talk about TJ White.
Because if it wasn't there, he'd get paid exactly that,
maybe for somewhere else.
Like, stop playing because you know what you get.
You know what you get with the product, you know?
He's not falling off no goddamn cliff no time soon.
It's not happening.
He's not one of those type of players.
They thought enough of him, they didn't trade him.
If you thought he was over the hill,
why didn't they trade him? Man, you know, good will? You know good willy one let that boy exactly come on now
So you you don't you don't get I mean theoretically they could oh Joe you don't say I'm old
Don't trade me, but they don't want to pay me right now
Now one of the other either pay me or allow me to go someplace else to get paid I agree
He's one of those guys to Terry Bradshaw to John Starwood,
Lynn Swans, one, you know, male blunt Lambert, those guys, Joe Green, one helmet team, one helmet
guy, one hand's ward. He's been Rothenberger. He's deserving of that. He's been a phenomenal
player. He's been a model citizen since he's been in Pittsburgh. I don't have a problem with this. Like you said, Ocho, he's 30.
That makes him like to do 35.
He's 30.
Wait, he only 30?
30.
Man, why they got me thinking TJ?
Listen, I didn't look up his age.
They got me thinking he was like 33, 34, 35 or something like that.
Oh man, he good.
Man, what we, man, what the, I'm glad I didn't, I'm glad I didn't.
Because TJ, because the fans, because fans listen to teams
and it seems like 30, that was the 49ers,
49ers, 49ers and you know, Brandt, you know,
go way back, if you look at them,
they started getting off their guys at 30
because it's, they look at it like,
it's better to get rid of a guy a year
as opposed to a year late.
And if you go back and look at it,
study Coach Belichick history,
he always got off guys a year early. He said, I'd and look at it study coach Belichick history, he always got off
guys a year early. He said I'd rather than have you rot on the vine. Yes, sir. In my vineyard,
I'd rather you move on. I'd rather not have to pay that. Okay. But I don't think I think TJ
Watts, he's been a double digit sack guy, basically his entire career. Yes, sir. He's been a hover,
he's been defensive player of the year. He's been hovering around defensive player of the year,
year after year after year.
I think this is the right move by the Steelers.
And like you said, now you got Jalen Ramsey back there.
They're probably gonna kick Ram to the safety position.
Now he can cover your tight ends.
He can cover the, he can play the slot.
I don't know who jumps in the slot.
You can't have three guys outside.
Somebody gonna have to play the slot.
Either Porter Jr. Slay or Ram. uh maybe who knows maybe they have a slot corner and they
leave Ram at the safety position right who knows but I like I like this move
because I think TJ Watt had earned this he didn't deserve it because they gave
him this money they didn't give him this money based on what he's done they gave
him his money that they still believe that he could play out of the league
level yes absolutely absolutely and then you know what?
You know, Jerry Jones is on the clock.
Oh, yeah.
Next question, how did this impact Michael Parsons?
Because you waited.
Now, because you remember Ocho, Max Crosby.
Yes, sir.
He kicked it to 35.
He pole vaulted Nick Bosa.
He went to 35.
Miles Garrett said, hold myosa. He went to 35. Miles Garry said, hold my beer.
He goes to 40.
Now TJ Watts said 41.
Keep doing this, Jerry.
You didn't learn your lesson with that.
So guess what you did?
You did the same thing with CD.
You didn't learn your lesson with CD.
You did the same thing with Micah.
Now I know you do all this talking like,
oh yeah, Micah, blah, blah, blah.
Micah ain't gonna give you no discount.
Absolutely not. Micah Parsons is gonna be the highest paid Now, I know you do all this talking like, oh, yeah, Michael, blah, blah, blah. Mike, I can't give you this guy.
Michael, Michael, Michael Parsons is going to be the highest paid,
and he's going to get more than what T.J.
Watt got fully guaranteed.
And he's earned that.
He didn't deserve it. Yeah, earned it.
Yeah, I just have a question for you.
You might know better than me when it comes to owners and it comes to pan players.
Why do they do this? Why do they hold off?
I mean, what is the point in general? In general? I mean, what is it that they are doing or
trying to get in order? What some type of fairs, the books, the money? I mean, what?
Didn't we hear this thing that Pablo Torre about the collusion thing? We're trying to
keep these salaries down, Ocho. We're trying to keep this guaranteed money down
What do you mean? What are they doing? Okay. Okay. Okay. All right
Okay
After the Sean Watson got that fully guaranteed contract with a lot of people thought that was gonna probably be commonplace
They've tried to press that and they will continue to try to suppress that
It's only it's only one way.
Hopefully, Michael keeps his foot on the gas and says,
nah, we're going to keep this thing heading towards the North Star.
42 million. I'm going to need 42.
In the next great defensive edge Russia, I don't know who that is.
Jared Verz, Jalen Carter.
I'm going 43 and I'm going and I'm
gonna need whatever Michael got fully guaranteed. I'm gonna need
that. Absolutely. I love it. I love it. Yeah. Michael seemed to
he said today that is heading in a direction that it didn't need to head
You know you you know
And he spoke about dacks supposed to get it done and you wait till the last minute and then you have to overpay
That and you pay see you wait the cd and then you probably had to you probably could have got cd for a couple of million
Dollars cheaper you damn sure could have got that for a couple million dollars cheaper
But you didn't learn your lesson the first time with that because you let him go all the way to the end of the contract
And he was hoping he'd give you a deal like j golf and Carson wins gave him even though they were first and second pick in the draft.
They got the big signing bonus and they came to him in year three that Prescott says I'm at the end of my contract.
These guys still got two years and two franchise tags. So theoretically they got four years left.
I got none and you want me to give them the same deal.
You want me to give you the same deal
they gave their teams.
Absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
You'd have thought by now he'd have learned his lesson,
but Jerry hasn't learned his lesson.
Maybe he's doing it on purpose
because he likes for one the attention
and the big splash he gets to make
when he actually does pay the said player, maybe he likes it this way.
Yeah.
Look, I mean, you pay, I mean, think about it.
You pay in a quarterback, you pay in your quarterback, 60 million.
That's more, that's more than all the top quarterbacks, all the top quarterbacks
that's been in the NFC champ, that's been in the championship game, that's been to
a super, that's been to a, that's been to a Superbowl.
He's making more than my homes.
He's making more than Lamar.
He's making more than burrow.
He's making more than Josh Allen.
And people are like, hold on, wait a minute.
But that's what happens when you wait to the umpteenth hour
to get something done.
Yeah.
I like it.
power to get something done. Yeah.
I like it.
Michael says the Cowboys are making it more complicated than
it has to be.
We obviously want to get a deal done early.
We want the relief off our backs, but obviously ownership
always going to make make it drag out make it more complicated
than it has to be lack of communication.
I just never understand when guys come into the league.
They are consistent and they perform well
while they've got such a urge.
But then as they have just one good year,
maybe two good years, they get right away.
And now you've got TJ Watt, you got Max Cross,
all these other guys are getting paid
and you can't want us to take less
because you wanted to decide to wait, would I tell you?
Oh, so they trying to play that game with him on?
The longer you wait, and see, that's what happened with Jerry.
The longer he waited, all of a sudden,
28 million wasn't the going rate for a quarterback.
Now it was 32, now it was 34, okay,
he got the 30 plus million dollars of the 40 million dollar
deal now all of a sudden it wasn't 4546. It was 55. So now
he goes to 60. Hey because you waited you waited you. Hey you
waited on on Jefferson. So guess what CD lamb like, okay, I
take a million dollars less a year, but I ain't going to that less than that. Michael has made it abundantly clear from the very beginning,
my agent will my representative will be handling all negotiations. We're not I'm not coming to
your house. We're not going out to have a drink and I'm not signing anything. That's what I hired
an agent for. Would you say I'm not coming to your house? Yeah, I'm not coming to the house to eat
no nachos and drink no beer.
We're not that type of party.
We're not that type of party.
They try to pull you in like they're your best friend, boy.
Yes, yes.
It's business at the end of the day.
They will always remember that.
That's the ultimate love.
When you in a workplace environment, the ultimate love is currency.
You can say, oh, he's a hard worker.
I love this guy here.
No, no, no, no.
The way you show me you love me,
the way you show me you appreciate me
is to break me off with Moolah.
All that other stuff, I don't hear nothing you saying.
Ain't number salad dressing.
That's it.
That's white noise.
Michael, Michael won his money. He's earned it is. That's even his off year, even last year he had a down year. He, I mean, he came home, but,
and he probably had some things going on that, you know,
he played through with their hopes and you know what,
they gonna take care of me
because they know what I got going on.
They know I'm banged up.
They know I got a knee or I got something going on.
So, but they gonna take care of me.
And this is how they do it, huh?
Thought it was a donut, y'all tried to glaze me.
Now give me my bread.
I need all that.
Hey, thought I was a what?
Yep, thought it was a donut,
they tried to glaze this man.
Hey, that's a good one.
So, Michael is pro for a four year extension.
If TJ got three for 123, Miles got four for 140.
Yeah, I'm at four for 150.
And I'm gonna need, if TJ got 108,
fully guaranteed, I'm gonna need 125.
Ooh, woo!
Hey, well that's that good money there, boy.
Yes, yes. I don't wanna hear nothing that good money there, boy. Yes, yes.
I don't hear nothing that, you know,
we how we treat our players and all that.
Yeah, you treat your players, pay me.
That's the only language,
that's the only language I speak.
Washington and Lincoln and Jefferson and Chase,
that's what, that's Grant, that's what I speak.
I speak, that's the language I speak. And Mike is going into his last year. Yeah or no? No? We got two more
left. I think he is. I think I think Mike is I think Mike is.
I think he's a fourth head into his fifth. They picked up his
option. Okay. Yeah. Well, I wonder if I wonder if they'll
play around. I wonder if they I mean knowing Jerry ain't no
telling how they how they gonna rock if they they let him play that last one out.
Or they could.
You think so?
I mean, ain't no telling with them, uh.
Ain't no telling.
I mean, the-
Well, I mean, you let, it ain't only 26.
I mean, the way we value players based on what they can do, the owners
don't really value them. Oh, he
played on his fifth. Oh, he
played on his fifth year option.
He came in in twenty-one. He
came in in twenty-one, twenty-
one, twenty-two, twenty-three,
twenty-four. He's on his
fifth year option. They said,
well, if they hadn't picked it
up, he could have been anywhere
right now. Yeah. They knew what they were doing. it up he could have been anywhere right now.
Yeah. They knew what they were doing. He gonna be the highest paid. I don't know. I don't know what they waiting on. That's the part I don't understand. I mean and why do they do it? Why
do they do it with every player? I mean they're not the only team. But I'm just saying.
I get why they well you gave you gave, you gave Dak and CD.
So obviously you couldn't pay Dak, you know, that,
CD that and give him what he was worth.
But now you don't got those, you got those other two guys
get out of the way, you got them take care of.
You ain't got, I mean, you got, you,
you don't have anybody else coming down the pipeline.
Pretty soon you're gonna have your big offensive lineman,
Smith, coming down the pipeline.
You're gonna have to, you're to have to take care of him.
Oh my goodness.
I don't know. You know, Jerry does things his way.
He says he's the best at what he does.
He's not.
He says he, he says he is.
And there's no one else that's fit, you know,
to run that team the way he does.
I go in my garage and I lay on the floor.
I'm on Mercedes.
No, I'm not.
I'm a damn fool laying on my garage floor.
Just got somebody say some issues.
Just got somebody say some ish that don't make it true.
Hey, that's a good one.
Yeah, he not. You know, that's a good one. Yeah, he not, you know.
That's a good one.
Cowboys dock Trayvon Diggs $500,000
for not rehabbing with the team enough.
Diggs is believed to be the first Cowboys player
to see his base salary lowered because of it.
The team had an option, option to not enforce the
clause but chose to. Is this, oh Joe, what are we supposed to, what are we making of
this? Are they being petty or what are they trying to do? Check out Behind the
Flow, a podcast documentary series following the launch of San Diego
Football Club. We go behind the scenes and explore the stories of those involved.
San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer
because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team.
We need veteran players and we need young players.
Like, you're building a team from scratch,
and so the succession plan of long-term success needs to be defined.
We need to embrace this community.
When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier
and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring rain,
just watching the fans jumping up and down.
I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me.
Not only was that gonna be my game,
but it was gonna be my life.

They, I wouldn't say they're being petty.
It's that business we just talked about.
It's that business and them understanding,
listen, we pay you a certain amount.
We would like you here to rehab.
We think we have the best resources
and would like to keep the rehab that you are doing
that makes you coming along at a rate
that is sufficient for us, a good place for us.
So you're able to contribute, you know,
in season when it's time to actually play.
I mean, listen, that's tough.
That's tough. That's, that's a, that's a gray area you really don't want to play with.
Not knowing what a team might want to do to you.
You just, you know, how they treat you when you hurt now, you know,
you know how they treat you and that they're willing to keep you around.
No, knowing how valuable you are and what you can do once you're on the field and you
are healthy and they give you the opportunity to get right, I think I would take advantage
of that.
But obviously, Trayvon Diggs, who is a veteran, who has the same resources and the same maybe
doctors and treatments and stuff, wherever he may be and see fit in getting healthy there,
but is it worth losing the money?
I mean, but the kind of money they're passing out now,
and that 500,000.
I mean, that's something you run by the team, Ocho,
because remember, it's being reported,
we don't know if it's true or not,
that one of the issues the Bucs had with Dane
is that he wanted to rehab in Portland.
He wanted to be close to his kid. And I probably think we're gonna talk about it is that I think he's
in negotiation to resign and go back to Portland because that's where his kids are.
Did you see it? Yeah but I'm saying I know they were talking about it but I have some other stuff
going on but with that being said that's something you run by the team. Is it
gonna be required for me to be trained to rehab here,
or may I be rehabbed elsewhere?
You run that by the team because at the end of the day, they pay it.
They pay it in the salary.
Yeah, that's tough.
I mean, they're paying you 20, 25, 30 million dollars.
And I think, you know, Diggs at one point in time was,
I think he makes 20 million dollars a year.
I ain't counting the man
pocket. I'm just saying that's
something you get clearance
from the team for because like
you said, Ocho 500,000, you
know, hey, that ain't no, that's
that's that's a good look. You
can change. I am me to to them.
What's up, boy? We can't see up? Why we can't
Okay. Hey, we're no further ado.
Let's welcome uh Jerry Judy.
Uh former number one draft pick
of the Denver Broncos. The
former Balitnikov Award winner
former uh uh uh uh national
champion with the Alabama, the road tie.
Here he is.
Jerry, you were one of the guys that attended
the wide receiver workshop.
Obviously it was down in your neck of the woods,
South Florida.
Why was it important for you to attend this shot?
You know, it's always great to be able to be around
a great group of guys that at the top of their position.
You know, I grew up watching Chad.
So, you know, it was a very special moment for me
just to be able to be out there and learn from him
and all the other guys that was out there.
NFL ranked you number 82, the 82nd best player in the NFL
after the 24th season.
You were not even ranked prior to that. What should Cleveland expect
this year? 82? So clearly you see that like 82. Nah, I'm trying to get on down there.
I'm trying to get down to the 50s. I'm trying to get to the 30s. I'm trying to get to the
20s. I'm trying to be, when they talk about the five best receivers, when they talk about
the 10 best receivers, I needed them to talk about you.
Yeah, for sure. That's my goal. I want to be at the top of my position.
You know, I'm just keep grinding and stay focused and continue to work on my craft and
work to be better than I was a year prior.
And I'm still chasing that each and every day and every year.
Well, let me ask you this.
I'm always because I look when you came out in the draft, I say he's the best guy in the
draft. And I knew you were in the draft with Jefferson and you were in the graph with CD lamb.
So I'm not going to do hindsight and those guys are having phenomenal seasons.
Why do you think the main reason it didn't work for you and, and, and, and, and, and I think I know the reason why, but I want to hear you said, I want to hear you hear what you have to say.
Why weren't you able to replicate in Denver what you're currently doing
in Cleveland? One, I think, you know, just consistency just throughout the whole offense,
you know, and just a lot of moving pieces and a lot of stuff that I had to deal with when it comes
to playing football, you know, such as injuries, you know, different quarterbacks in every game,
different coaches, staff, you know,
so that's something that could really affect
a raw receiver and his, you know,
but now that I got the opportunity to really, you know,
had a healthy season, you know,
being able to be that number one receiver,
be that number one option,
and be able to get put into a great position
to be able to perform the way I've done, you know, you know, that's that's all the receiver could ask for, for real.
Yeah, I like it.
I already know the type of season you're going to have.
You're going to build off what you did last year.
And it all comes down to being not only consistent, but when you are consistent,
consistency brings confidence.
And based on where you from, you already know what happens
when we feeling confident and it's time to play football.
So I'm excited for you.
I'm excited for what you guys are going to do with Joe Flacco and Chidor, Gabriel, whoever
it is, whoever it is at the helm.
To me, knowing what you can do at the receiving position, you make everyone else's job around
you easy.
I say that to you in person.
I say that to you before in general. So this season coming up,
are there any goals that you've already set?
Long-term, short-term, whatever it may be,
numbers, numbers-wise, you don't have to say anything
specific, I just wanna know what goals you have
this upcoming season for you individually?
Honestly, one of my biggest goals for it
is just having a winning season.
That's something that I haven't really done since entering the league. Honestly, one of my biggest goals for it is just having a winning season.
That's something that I haven't really done since entering the league.
Never reached the playoffs.
That's one of my biggest goals.
So having a winning season and be able to reach the playoffs, that's something I'm
truly working hard towards and just being better than I was last year.
I had a great season last year, finished sixth and receiving yards and I'm still trying to
chase that number one spot and I ain't going to stop until I get there.
I like that.
Drew, you mentioned when you were in Denver, there were a lot of moving parts, a lot of
quarterback, the quarterback's in and out.
You had a lot of offensive schemes.
Now it might be a similar situation.
You got Joe Flacco, who's the veteran. You
got Kenny Pickett. They drafted Dylan Gabriel. They drafted Shadour Sanders. Has anybody
stood out to you? Like, okay, this might be my quarterback. I might be starting with him.
I mean, has anything, have you noticed anything? Has anybody stood out to you?
You know, I feel like we got a great, the biggest thing that I'm thankful for just having four great
quarterbacks that's go out there and compete every day that's been doing their thing.
Come on with that.
Everybody doing their thing, man.
Yeah.
I'm telling you what it is, man.
We got four great quarterbacks, man.
They all been doing their thing for real.
So I'm just, my job is to make it easy.
Whoever had to have, you know, I'm just going to get open
for him and, you know, do my thing for real.
I don't got no control over that, man.
Whoever the coaches start to choose and whoever they pick
to be the quarterback, you know, I'm just, I'm just
make sure, make their job easier when they throw me the ball.
You know, I want to know, hold on, I'm gonna let you go
right now, I got to sneak this in there.
Cause I love this young boy.
I love him, watching him play.
Man, he's a technician.
What is it like going against goddamn Denzel Ward?
That's what I want to know.
Because that boy can play, he can play some ball,
man off, it don't matter what it is,
man, he nasty with it.
You know, this is a great DB, you know,
he's one of the few guys that really know how to like,
be patient without using his hands,
being funny without using his hands.
So, you know, that's one thing that really
separates Denzel from his skillset.
You know, a lot of guys that don't use their hand
really kind of struggles.
So he got great feet, you know,
great awareness when the ball's in the air, you know,
and he a scrappy dude for sure.
He a real ball player.
Yeah, I like him.
Look, obviously you mentioned that you dealt with some injuries.
You dealt with the quarterback play was not up to par.
And when you were in Denver, you had a lot of different schemes.
And Steve Smith Jr., who's a friend of the show,
you and him have some words back and forth.
Have you guys been able to work out your differences
behind the scenes?
Honestly, nah, you know, man, you know,
I ain't, it is what it is, man.
I ain't really too stressed about that.
It's old news, you know, you know,
he's things in the past, man.
I said some things in the past, you know,
but my goals always prove,
I know who I am at the end of the day you know and I you know I proved
it last year too so I really I really focus on none of that man that's old
news to me for real. When I watch you at Alabama obviously there are
a bunch of talented guys you win the Ballet in the Cuff Award in your sophomore
season you win a national championship I mean I think you win the Ballet in the Cup award in your sophomore season. You win a national championship.
I mean, I think you caught the game, what the game went in touchdown.
Well, the game, I think you got the lead against the SEC Championship against Georgia.
I think, wasn't that when Jayler Hertz came in and threw you the ball
and you made the diving catch in the corner of the end zone?
Yeah, that was, that was yeah, 2018 I think.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah. That was, what was that? That was, yeah, 2018, I think, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
And so I'm looking at you, Jew,
and I'm like, man, technically sound can run.
But for me, sometimes I'm like,
damn, Jew, you try to do too much.
Man, just shake the man and go on about your business.
You ain't gotta shake him three times.
I mean, you already done made him look bad.
You ain't, just go ahead, just the one time.
Just poop on him one time and go on about your business. Do you, do him look bad you ain't just go ahead just just the one time just just poop on him one time
We go about your business. Do you do you do you do you have I mean there's a clock
They got to go go off whether you're running that out you run in the end you run in the comeback
You run in the hook. It don't matter. There's a clock
How you when you go out there and let's say Denzel war you had great competition in college because you had pass or tame
You had to deal with him
in college and I be damn if he didn't come join you
in Denver so you got an opportunity to work
with one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
So Ju when you going out there and somebody lines up
across to you and you have a certain route,
tell me what's going, tell our listeners
and our viewers what's going through your mind.
First, you know I just gotta know the play,
know where I'm at on the field, you know first. Then once I line up, you know I I just got to, you know, got to know the play, know where I'm at on the field, you know, first.
Then I, once I line up, you know, I look at the safety, see what the coverage at, you
know, look at the safety.
Then I look at the leverage of the DB in front of me, depending on my route.
Then I just think about the technique of how I'm going to run this route, depending on
if it's a slant and he outside leverages, am I going to spray him, attack his leverage
and make him think I want to go outside and get underneath it.
Or if he outside, inside of me, if I'm going to split it or I'm just quick jabbing and
take it in, you know, there's a lot of different things that just go through my mind.
You know, if that was going to work, you know, it's reaction after that.
Hey, how much freedom, June, now that you've had a great season last year, most of the
time when you have offensive coordinators, they call plays or they have plays as a call, they
want their schemes run exactly how they're drawing up on paper.
How much freedom are you allowed to do things your way, just a little bit?
Like obviously when you have a certain route, you're supposed to be plus two.
Do they let you cheat the split a little bit, just to throw the DB off so he doesn't know what's coming?
Because most of the time it's all about reading
and understanding based on what you see in watching film.
And most of the time everybody just lines up
in the same spot.
The only thing that throws things off
is the formations are different.
Do they give you a little freedom to change your splits
and play with things a little bit
now that you know the offense?
Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons I have success in Cleveland.
Just they let me out there and let me be free.
They know that I understand the game pretty well.
They know how I know how to beat leverages.
I know what they want in the offense, know what they want me to get to.
I feel like that would that would cause me to have success, you know.
So Coach Stefanski and the coaching staff did a great job of just
allowing me to play my game, you know,
and just be able to win on every route they want me to run.
They know how to run every route in the route tree,
you know, they know I could get open.
So they allow me to do that.
That's a lie, that's dope, that's dope.
There used to be one time, Jude,
that Alabama was the unquestioned wide receiver receiver you now you got LSU saying they lay
a claim to that you got Ohio State lay a claim to that so who has the real why receiver you know
I'm always stay by the state true to my teammates and oh I have been with 24 seven I ain't gonna
never change up you know it's always gonna be Alabama but now for real though LSU been putting out some guys at house they got some great guys in the league you know and guys coming, you know, it's always going to be Alabama. But now for real though, LSU been putting out some guys,
a house, they got some great guys in the league,
you know, and guys coming up, you know,
like the guy Jermiah Smith, you know,
it's a lot of great talent out there for sure, bro.
You know, Alabama will always be on top.
What you got, Oto?
I was going to say, I mean, it went Alabama.
Alabama had a string on back to back.
They had a string on the back.
Cause you know, they came with Julio
and they came with Calvert Ridley.
And then they got Jew and they got rugs
and they got Waddle and they got Devontae Smith.
So they had a run and then LSU,
they came like, here comes Jeddah,
and here comes Chase, and here comes Malik Neighbors,
and here comes Brian Thomas Jr. and Ohio State said
whoa whoa whoa whoa what about Marvin Harrison? What about
Jackson the Jigba? What about Garrett Wilson? What about the
uh uh the guy in New Orleans? I forget his name. What's his
name? Uh oh Chris Olavi. Chris Olavi. Hey, they they whoa whoa
whoa. We got hey we we gotta raise our hands too now. The funny thing about it is,
is Ohio State might take that torch back
once Jeremiah Smith come out in two years.
Nah, he got one more year.
He got this one in next year.
You got two more years?
Yeah, yeah, this one in next year.
Yeah, okay, yeah.
Boy, that boy there.
That man cold, real Florida boy.
That boy cold, huh? Man, he nice, though. Yeah. What that boy there? I mean cold real Florida boy. I was cold
Yeah
Julie, let me ask you this. Why Alabama? I mean you got Miami you got Florida. Yeah, I mean there there. I mean you got a
Florida State, I mean LSU. I mean Ohio State. What made you decide to choose Alabama?
Oh one reason was you know, I I truly didn't want to stay home
You know, I've been home like that home is home. I didn't want to experience something something different, you know, I truly didn't want to stay home. You know, I've been home, like that home is home.
I just wanted to experience something different, you know.
Alabama, I never expected Alabama, you know,
Alabama was just a team that just like,
it was just in my heart, Alabama was the right spot for me.
You know, and I grew up watching the Mara Cooper,
you know, I played with Calum.
Yeah, I forgot about Coop, yeah, Coop.
I grew up watching the Mara Cooper, you know, I played with. Yeah, I forgot about Coop. Yeah, Coop. I grew up watching Amara Cooper, you know,
and I played with Calvin Ridley
and I see all the hardworking great things
they did up there at Alabama, you know,
and I felt like I could do the same thing
once I get up there.
So, you know, thank God I chose Alabama for real.
Yeah.
Do you guys get an opportunity to go back?
Cause you see like in basketball, you see the Duke players,
they go back and they work, they go back to Duke and they work.
Do Alabama do the receiver,
do you all get a chance to go back down to Alabama and help?
Because I was talking to Ozzy Newsome,
who was a great wide receiver, turned into a great tight end,
went to the Hall of Fame and now he's the Hall of Fame exec.
He said, their job, he said,
what we tell the guys is each one teach one.
So if you leave, you come back and you got to tell them,
hey, this is what we expect. guys is each one teach one. So if you leave, you come back and you got to tell them, hey, this is what we expect.
This is how we do things.
This is how we continue the great play at exposition.
If you guys do something like that at Alabama,
would you?
Honestly, I haven't been back to Alabama
since like my rookie year, you know?
And you know, it's different now.
Thank you a lot.
The whole coaches have changed,
coaches staff have done change, you know?
So it's different, different coaches. I do need to go whole coaches staff, you know, so it's different, different coaches.
I do need to go back out there, you know, and just, you know, say some things, but, you know, I never had a chance to really go back out there.
I like it.
Ju, how much time?
Man, thank you.
Ju, how much time?
Go ahead.
How many, how long y'all got before y'all go to camp? You got about another week or two weeks. Yeah, we be back on the 22nd man. We right back to it man
I'm ready for the grind. Oh
You got a few days. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, you're right back in. Yeah, it won't be it won't be long. It won't be long
Drew thank you, man. Thank you for joining us man. Continue success. Glad you're healthy man
Hey, I'm glad you got somewhere because like I said,
I was very high on you when you came out.
I thought you were phenomenal.
The way you could beat man coverage,
the way you set routes up,
you run a route with anticipation.
Like I still got something in my back pocket
in case I needed a later date and time.
And, but I'm glad,
wish we could have had stability
at the quarterback position, which we could have had stability at the quarterback position,
which we could have stability at the head coach position. And you're doing what you're doing in
Cleveland, you could have done that for the Broncos. But hey, I'm happy to see you doing
well. I'm happy to see see you achieve what I always knew you had. Thank you, man. I appreciate
that for real. Have a good season. Hey, tell Denzel Ward, man, he don't want no smoke with me either,
man. Even that 50 cents, whatever. Yeah, I see you still got it, he don't want no smoke with me either, man. Even that 57, it's whatever.
Yeah, I see you still got it. Once I see that, you still got a little something.
Oh yeah, that's a little something. It's there.
You know I was a DB back in my days, so don't let me get started.
Don't do it to yourself.
Don't let me get started.
Next year, next year, put your shoes on then.
We back out there next year. I'ma see you. Next year, next year. Um made his very first Pro Bowl last year, guys.
He was sixth in receiving yards, had his breakout season.
He said the thing that contributed to that,
he got consistent quarterback play,
and he was able to do some big things,
because I thought he was phenomenal coming out
of the University of Alabama.
And so it's always great to see guys
be able to transition to take what they
were able to do in college, and then transition and carry that over into the NFL Ocho.
So it was glad to see him start to live up to the potential
and the ability that we knew he possessed.
And now he's getting an opportunity to shine and clean.
You know the good thing about it too,
you already know even as a player,
even as a player when things aren't going well,
somewhere else just in general,
obviously you were in Denver for a very long time,
but sometimes you had bad games,
but you start questioning yourself when other aspects around you aren't going well.
And, but once you find, once you find that rhythm and that confidence, and most of the time
a change in scenery does it for you, a change in scenery does it for you. And all of a sudden you
find that same consistency and success that you had in college at the next level.
Once that confident kicks in, it's lights out.
It never goes backwards.
It rarely goes backwards.
Yeah, confidence is key.
When you play a sport, when you play a sport,
confidence is everything.
Because there's a competition.
I mean, it's me against you.
I gotta believe that I'm better than you.
I got to believe that I'm the baddest dude on this field. Even if you not, you better think it.
You better walk it.
Yep.

Unsigned bingles draft pick Shamar Stewart is believed to
keep it big to be keeping all of his options open. Oh, Joe
amidst all NFL contract negotiations.
Texas A&M coach Mike Elko indicated that those options
do not include a return to College Station,
but said he's been training with the team.
Shamar has been around, he's very comfortable
in our program, really likes what we do training-wise,
and he's been training, getting ready for the season
this year with the Bengals.
We wish him the best.
Stewart is the only first round draft pick from the 2020, 2025 draft
class who has yet to sign.
Hey, listen, this is, at this point is confusing me.
Uh, and I'm going to need a little clarification from you on what is
exactly going on because I thought I understood at first, but now I'm not
understanding now to just drug out with camp for
the rookies, if I'm not mistaken, starting in two days. Today's the 17th, correct? Right?
Yeah. If I'm not mistaken, the bangles report July 19th and the veterans report on the 22nd.
So I'm not sure how it's been drawn out to this point. And just give me give me another paraphrase
on why he hasn't signed the contract. What they want to do the Bengals want to
put language in his contract okay you get guaranteed so based on the contract
is guaranteed so they're trying to put a provision if he does something at any
point it can nullify all the guaranteed money he's supposed to get so if I do
something in 2025 it could nullify the guaranteed money he's supposed to get. So if I do something in 2025, it could
nullify the guaranteed money I'm supposed to get in 262728. Oh,
and it's a no, we're not gonna start that press. Okay, I see.
I see what you're saying. So okay, so you have you're trying
to protect all the money for the foreseeable future. Now if I
was,
because if we allow you to do that, then you know what comes
is a copycat lead, then all the other teams going to start putting that.
If you put that language in there.
What I would love to do and even as a player, I would also agree to this.
Well, if I mess up in 2025, you're not taking nothing long-term.
Now, if I mess up long-term.
But if they put that language in this contract, that's exactly what they would do. That's why I'm saying
But I would go back to them and have it a year-by-year thing not me doing it one time and everything
For going for the future is taken as well. Well, it's already well
It's already in their contract detrimental to the team. So we already know they could do that
That's that's that's common practice, But they want to see, they try to
get off the hook. They're like, nah, you mess up and we're going to take all the, we could
potentially take all the guarantees. As much as we try to walk by faith, you know, as much as we
try to do the right thing, at times we do make mistakes when we're young. At times, you know,
we do find ourselves in trouble as much as
we want to stay out. Yeah, we want to stay out of it. You
know, I'm sure nobody tried to purposely get themselves in
trouble. But you do have to protect yourself just like the
bangle they're trying to protect yourself as well. So I mean,
obviously, it sucks that is that is at this point, it sucks that
it's that a stalemate, but I'm hoping I'm hoping at some point,
they find some type of resolution and resolve this so they can get young Bull in camp so we can help
make a difference for us defensively. Well we got someone joining us early tonight Ocho. We got
Jimmy Horn Jr. who's the, where I receive out of University of Colorado had, had, hey, had speed.
We could see like when he get the ball in his hands,
a good luck trying to get him on the ground. Jimmy, thanks for joining us, man. Yes, sir.
What's up, fella? Jimmy, what's up? Why were you at? I'm at Carolina. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Oh, y'all get ready to go to camp. What tomorrow? No, we start back up Monday. Monday. Start
Mike Monday. Okay. Look, word on the street is like one of the most impressive young guys in camp is Jimmy Horn Jr.
What have you how why and how have you been able to have such great success that you are six round draft pick and you know they got to have a first they took a receiver McMillan They took him in the first round.
They have Xavier Leggett. Uh
they got uh what's the guy uh
from uh from the Vikings from
the Vikings. Adam Thielen. Yeah.
Adam Thielen. They got Thielen.
How have you been able to make
a name for yourself so so so
quick? Uh Jimmy. and I it's
really like a mentality thing.
Like I just come out there like
I know personally that I don't really that so like I just go out there. I like that.
I just go out there with a confidence. You feel me and I really just learn from the guys ahead of you know, just picking up a game and just coming out there being myself, you know, and then every day I just kind of practice hard. You feel me like it's part of the game. I know that because in the program that you was in,
lad, did you land for a couple of years,
Coach Prime, he a worker.
He believes in working hard,
but he also believes in instilling confidence
in his players.
And you around him, it's hard not to be confident.
And it seems to me, if listening to you talk,
you're like, I'm him.
Yeah, I know they took me in the sixth round,
but y'all go see why they should have took me higher Yeah
the funny thing about it if for those that are in the chat that are watching if you know football if you
Understand the game especially receive a position you already know Jimmy Horn was not a six-round type of player
Now we talk about a round one around two based on his skill set his ability to run routes create separation
And what he can do once he got the ball in his hands
But listen, this is a good thing. If they took you in the sixth round,
that mean you get to get to the bag even faster though.
You get to get to the bag even faster. So, you know, don't trip.
I just want to know as how has the transition been?
What is the difference between being at Colorado and now being a Carolina
Panther? I mean, what has been, uh,
I want to say the most difficult thing to learn so far.
Really has been that playbook, man. It's been that playbook for sure.
It's crazy, huh?
It's like, really like, yeah, the way Coach Prine ran the program, it was already kind of similar
to like how they run it in the NFL. So it's kind of similar in that way as the schemes and stuff
like being ran, but the plays the terminology is like
Learning the whole another language that you already know that verbiage. Yeah
too much
And you got to be on it because they know ain't no pickup because we put we install it we install one day
Guess what? We got a whole set of plays the day we got a whole set of plays the next day
And we got a whole set of plays the next day and we got a whole set of plays the next day and we got a whole set of plays today so if you fall behind dead fly crazy
you you say something i i heard you say something early you say like coach prime kind of ran a lot
of this how so so help us understand how his coach prime because coach prime come you know even though
he came with a with a pro background,
you look at a lot of his coaches,
they were pro coaches.
And so how has that helped transition,
as Ocho mentioned, transition as fast
as you've been able to do.
How has Coach Prime, coaching style, his system,
his discipline, everything about it,
because there's a pro style,
because he's getting guys that are good enough
to get to the next level,
he's getting them prepared for that.
Right.
I say it's really like,
the biggest key is really like doing the little things right.
You know what I'm saying?
That's from going to class, making sure your grades right.
You know what I'm saying?
Showing up to practice on time,
making sure your sauce is certainly there.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like little small things.
And once you get them down pat,
it made transitioning easier.
Okay, I get you.
They just did a Carolina drafted McMillan,
number one draft pick out of a University of Arizona.
What's it like Xavier Leggett?
I mean, we mentioned Adam Thielen.
Now, and because of the buzz that you created for yourself,
you know, they gonna wanna see what you got
come pre-season.
So you're gonna probably get a lot of burn.
Are you excited?
They're like, man, I mean, it's kinda,
you're like, I'm in the NFL.
But you really get your NFL moment
until you're going against other guys
and you see them, you got your Carolina helmet on and they got their teams helmet on and you like, man, I'm
really an NFL.
Okay.
It's still football.
Let me go show them what I-
Yeah.
See, I ain't get that feeling yet.
Like right now I'm at the mall.
Like I ain't satisfied with like where I'm at.
You feel me?
So I just like, I'm really excited to get out there.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, especially with the missing the last training camp, I'm just excited to get out there, you know what I'm saying? Like, especially with the missing, missing the last training camp.
I'm just ready to get back out there
and just showing what I can really do.
You know what I'm saying?
I got so much potential left in my game.
I ain't Alicia all out yet.
So that's what I'm most excited to show.
Yeah, I like it.
So what's the difference between an NFL,
wide receiver room and a collegiate receiver room?
The DELT.
It's the DELT for sure.
They ain't taking all them guys out there on that bus.
You gotta find a way out there.
You gotta find a way.
Right.
As a matter of fact.
But it seems like early on, Jimmy, you did an excellent job because after like the
first day of camp, the most impressive rookie with Jimmy
Horn Jr. and and from that point on, did I don't know how
much of the the paper you read. I don't know how much you
watch you get on social media, but did you hear the buzz that
you had created for yourself? Yeah, I seen it man. Every
time I scroll through tits, I just keep saying different plus and stuff
I mean, but like, you know, I try not to try not let that stuff get to me
You don't understand. I ain't playing no real game. Yeah, I feel like I ain't do nothing yet
But listen, you look in practice the way you practice the way you practice and what people see in practice
It's gonna be the same exact thing on game day
Listen, I ain't trying to teach you home could you hear because I say the same thing when I seen you at got dang in Colorado,
when you can run routes when you already polish.
I did the funny thing.
It this is why they was raving about him when he got to
Carolina, because he's already polished as a receiver.
So he coming in, he coming from Colorado.
So they expect him to look a certain way.
And then we'll God damn, why is he popping out looking different from everybody else?
I mean, that's neither here nor there.
But like you said, you ain't unleashed what you want to yet.
Obviously, you missed a previous training camp, huh?
Yeah, but you got to, you're going to be straight, man.
You're going to be straight.
I've seen it.
I know what it's supposed to look like.
And you displayed that already.
All we gotta do now, when the lights on,
just do what you normally do.
It ain't no different.
Well, you have an outstayed your quarterback
with the number one overall draft pick two years ago.
This will be his third year.
Things didn't go as well as he had hoped,
but he got his rhythm.
He got an opportunity to sit and watch.
What's it been like working with Bryce Young?
Man, it's been a pleasure working with Bryce.
You know, like picking Bryce Brand and Bryce Smart, man.
And like, Bryce real smart.
And like, he know the game, he can break it down to you.
And Bryce, he real accurate too, man.
He nice.
He real nice.
Your former teammate, the World Watch.
You went into sixth round, but your teammate, Shadour,
your quarterback, had a phenomenal season,
had phenomenal two seasons at the University of Colorado,
but you watched him slide, okay, the first round,
and then you see the second round,
and then you see the third round,
and then you see the fourth round, and the fifth round.
At any point in time, when he's going through that process,
did you reach out? Did you send him a text like,
hey bro, keep your head up, anything like that?
Not that I remember, but like,
when I was watching it with my peoples and stuff,
we just sitting there watching it like, dang, dang.
That's all he was saying, dang.
That's all crazy, but it's all right,
though you know everything happened before reason.
God got a plan for each person.
Well, today ESPN released their corner rankings
voted on by coaches, scouts, and executives.
Number one rated cornerback was Pat Sertan II.
Number two, Darrell Stingley Jr.
Number three, Denzel Ward.
Number four, Trent McDuffieingley Junior, number three, Denzel
Ward, number four, Trent
McDuffie, number five, Sauce
Gardner, number six, Christian
Gonzalez, JC Horn, Jaylen
Johnson, Quinian Mitchell,
Devon Witherspoon. Of those names, which one you decided to say, hey, come on, get this work.
Oh, Lord.
Yeah, yeah.
And talk that shit, what?
For real, man.
Oh, Lord, for real.
Cause you got, you one of them is your teammate.
JC's on the list, he's number seven.
So you go get some great work every day in practice.
That's what come to work every day, man.
That's what come to work every day.
Hey, that'd be fun, boy.
I wish I had your schedule, pull up your schedule,
see how many of these guys on the list
that you're gonna actually go against.
Now those are the 10 best.
Now just don't think, just because you don't see
somebody's name up there.
Don't make the mistake that I made.
I made the mistake, you know, I underestimated someone.
Right.
And when I left the game, I had three catches for 14 yards.
I said, I'd never make that mistake again.
Oh Joe, I said, I'd never make that mistake again.
It'd be the one.
So yay, you respect everyone, you underestimate no one,
and you'll be just fine.
Right.
Because if you're in this league,
everybody in this league can make everybody else in this league look bad. Right. Because if you're in this league, everybody in this league can make
everybody else in this league look bad. Absolutely. What are you expecting? What are you hoping
for your rookie year? What would Jimmy Horn Jr. equate to a successful rookie campaign?
For my rookie year, I got it in my notes right here.
I'm from the Rio Monte team.
That's what I want to hear.
Come on with it.
Like, so like for my own field goals,
like when I catch my first NFL pass,
I want to stack from there and get a minimum of 250 yards.
You know what I'm saying?
But just to start off, zero drops
and then perfect the route tree.
Okay.
And school my first NFL test now
and make sure I'm in that delt, the rotation.
And then for the return goals,
lock my roll in as a punt return or a kick return one.
Take at least one return to the crib,
and then I'm trying to be at least top five
for return average, and no fumbles on the return.
And then for like minutes,
I just want to be prepared for whatever come our way.
Yeah, I like that.
I like that.
Already got some goals down.
You go against Christian Gonzalez is on your schedule
Sal's Gardner is on your schedule the bond with a spoon is on your schedule
So couple of the guys that's on that list you get an opportunity to see him
That's a you want to do a you want to do him a real solid, you know as a as a I'm here
Before the week before you play each one, right?
Jimmy, ship them boys a signed jersey you to the stadium and address it to them.
Make sure you sign that bitch.
They no more.
Yeah. Sign.
Yeah. Sign it and like a head of the game.
Give him a little gift.
Right.
Okay.
Yeah. You got a nice little you got a nice little thing but I like that. I like you already. You
already got your uh uh uh thing down. I didn't I didn't write
no list down until I got out of camp. I like hell. My number
one thing was make the team. Let's start with that. All the
all these goals. They tell me, hey man, I got my goals and
now my goal is to make the team. I got I'll write out
another stuff down a little later, later date time.
That's for sure number one on my list.
Make that, make that clear for sure.
That's for sure.
Well, Jimmy, thanks for joining us, man.
Congratulations, great Estella College career.
Getting an opportunity to go play in the NFL.
Now, your journey, hey, it doesn't end going to the NFL.
Your journey starts all over again.
So good luck, stay healthy,
and when you get an opportunity to come back
and talk to your favorite uncle in Ocho.
Hey man, my last thing,
now man, let me go in and get up off here
before I get the cut.
Now what you want to say?
Hey, what you want to say?
Hey, what you saying, dude?
We all on here, man.
The whole world. We got, how many people we got to chat? on here, man. The whole world.
We got, how many people we got in the chat?
About 9,000.
Yeah, we got about 9, 10,000 in the chat.
And what y'all think is the perfect time
to get you a lady in the league, man?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Let me ask you a question.
Did you have her before you got to the league?
Couple of.
Couple of did that, you gotta let one go.
Shoot, one arm go, hey, process an elimination.
Hey, no, don't even do it.
Don't even do it.
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, don't do it.
Don't do it.
Hey, you know what?
We gonna get your talk you off air.
Don't do it.
We'll talk to you offline.
I know that.
Don't do it.
I just threw that out there to mess with y'all real quick.
Listen, there's always a little truth to it.
You know, every time I feel you,
I know you're going with it, but lock in.
Don't do it.
Have your fun. Nothing serious. This come first. Your girl, your
lady is at Panther and everything that come with it.
It's thanks and everything that come with it. That's it.
Jimmy, congratulations, man. Uh um getting drafted going to
the Carolina Panthers. Best of luck. Uh uh this season. Stay the Ocho Chargers Mike Williams retires after eight seasons.
Williams the number seven overall draft pick in 2017 by the Chargers.
In eight seasons he had 330 receptions, 5100 yards, 32 touchdowns.
Definitely showcased a ton of talent but the injuries just seemed to, he seemed like he
couldn't stay healthy for an extended period of time. Ojo, you look, I started as receiver, you finished your career, moved to tight end.
When did you know it was time to hang it up?
Me? Well, shit.
Yeah.
Well, I ain't really had no choice but to hang it up.
Why? You know, hey, they didn't- All things being equal, you would have loved had no choice but to hang it up. You know, hey, you know, they didn't.
All things being equal, you would have loved
to try to continue to play.
I did, obviously I went to Canada.
I went to Canada and I wanted to finish my way.
I enjoyed my time in Canada.
It was eye-opening because I expected one thing,
or people said one thing about the Canadian Football League
and I actually got there and I was like,
okay, y'all lied to me.
The people down here in the States, y'all lied to me because every week playing in Canada whether it was Ottawa,
whether it was Canada, whether it was um uh Calgary or Winnipeg, Edmonton every every week
every week I done played in the NFL for 11 years and every week while I'm up there in Canada I'm
seeing dudes that belong in the NFL. Now y'all told me, I
thought it was, you know, it's supposed to be easy and I'm just gonna go out
there and just man, she man, please, but them young bulls out there in the
Canadian league, the only reason they're not down here in the NFL is because of
the numbers, because of politics, because of certain situations that might have
happened in college, not getting the right opportunity, not getting the call. There's really no difference
and I'm saying this very respectfully. But my time was different, obviously, when it
was time to hang it up, I had to go to Kenan and finish one year and lead the game so I
could be at peace with myself.
I think the thing is Ocho is that
you didn't really have like injuries.
The injuries didn't wear you down.
You didn't have knee, ACL, shoulder, back.
You didn't hamstring.
I can't straighten it out.
Look.
Yeah, but you don't run on your hands.
You ain't a monkey.
But anyway, so you, I mean, you were good.
But I think the thing Mike Williams, it seemed like,
I mean, you talk about it.
Oh my goodness.
I mean, big physical receiver,
could run, could catch him at night.
80-20, his jump balls, 80-20 every time.
With the charges.
Man, just put it up.
It just, it's healthy.
It just, it's helped. And you's just healthy. It just helps.
And you know, it's hard, man.
Being injured, being hurt,
it wears on you emotionally.
Forget the physical aspect of it.
It starts to mess with you here.
Because you start to question yourself,
man, am I ever gonna be healthy?
Is this the fate that, is this what I'm gonna be resigned to?
Like, damn, I know I'm better than this.
And as soon as you like, you put a game or two or three of putting together,
something else pops up, Ocho.
Hey, I wonder now that you said that, and the fact that I've never had to face any type of adversity,
I faced adversity in life, but never to the point where it was bodily harm, where something
failed me and had to work my way back into playing shape.
And I've never been challenged that way.
So I wonder if I would have been able to do it. That's a great
question. Would I have been able to do it? Because can you imagine if I had tore my Achilles?
Nope. Thank God. Or if I tore my ACL and had to build myself back mentally, would I have
been able to get back to a certain level of confidence or comfortability, being able to
run and stop and transition
and still having that same
confidence. I did in my
approach to the game.
I think it take that.
I think it took away everything
my entertainment the
entertainment. I bought the
value that the trash talking
because I wouldn't have been
the same. I would have just
been a shell of myself.
I got lucky.
I got lucky.
I don't even know. I think they
lost one of their receivers.
Didn't he end up going to Palmer?
Didn't he end up going to Buffalo?
Who?
The Chargers wanted their receivers.
Palmer, the big dude.
Hey, he made some plays.
He was making some plays.
Yeah. I think Palmer was number nine.
Yeah.
You were seven? What? Yeah. I think it was
number seven. He was a big dude. My my me and Anquan
Bolton a little bit.
Hold on. Let me see here. Is it KJ Palmer or no? And oh Joanne
he only 30 weeks 30 years old.
Damn, that's it?
That's it.
He'll be 31 in October.
The ACL must still be bothering him.
Maybe mentally he just checked out mentally.
Yeah.
I mean, because in New York, he wasn't that I
remember he had a little issue, little issue with Aaron Rogers,
but yeah. And then you know, they ended up trading. I think
he ended up getting traded to Pittsburgh or at least I think
he finished his career in Pittsburgh. I mean, his
obviously clearly his best days came with the Chargers and
Justin Herbert. Him and Keenan Allen, boy, they was they was
some monsters together, boy.
They was nice.
Big receiver, 64220.
Dang.
Oh, it was Josh Palmer.
Josh Palmer.
Where's Josh Palmer at now?
Where you say he went?
Indiana Buffalo?
Boy, he was making some good plays, boy.
He was nice.
Hold on.
He was number five.
Yeah, you're right.
Oh, he's still with it.
Hold on.
No, yeah, he was Buffalo.
He was with Buffalo.
So they got a nice little squad.
They got Kion Coleman, Shakir. how you say it's like Shakir?
Yeah. They got him and you know they got the two tight ends. Knox and Kinkade.
Damn!
We don't know if Cook, you know, his situation with the contract, he wants a contract. I don't know. They plan. I hate how they treat the running back position.
And Cook is one of those who's in that tier one conversation
where there shouldn't be any fuss or back and forth
when it's time to pay him.
Because he's a very, very, very vital piece to that goddamn offense.
But I guarantee you, I know how they view it.
We view it when we have Josh Allen and you're replaceable.
Okay, you're expendable.
That's exactly how they're viewing it
because the quarterback is so goddamn good.
They feel, okay, if we miss this piece,
even as important as it is,
we can make up for it with our quarterback play.
Hold up, didn't Mike Williams go back to,
didn't he go back to the charges?
Yeah.
Wow. You're like I said, Ocho, you know, you're like I said,
okay, you know, sometimes we,
you know, your body break down
on you and you don't want to do
it because we had a tearing
arms arms, arms, his knees,
bone on bone couldn't do it.
Yeah. He said, you know, I
didn't want to do that no more
man. Believe that he said when
he told us he couldn't even us, he couldn't even practice.
He couldn't even walk.
So they let him miss practice.
But when on game day, I obviously he did whatever he needed to do just to be able
to play on game day.
That's crazy.
Take it and take pain, take the pain for your toward all shots injections.
Oh Joe NFL players to retire this off season.
Derek Carr, Julio Jones, Patrick Peterson, Zach Martin,
Frank Ragnow, Tyron Smith, Teron Armstead, Ryan Ramchek,
Jason Peters, Mike Williams, C.J. Mosley,
Endowment Kinsue, Brandon Graham, Sam Hubbard,
David Andrews, Micah Hyde, Mason Crosby,
Mitch Morris, Michael Pierce, Keanu Neal,
John Ski, Jordan Travis, and Chris Connolly. Damn. the players. Keanu uh Neo,
There's about three or four Hall of Famers on this list, Ocho.
You know, Pat P and Julio were in the same draft.
I think Pat P was five, Julio was six.
And Pat P was four.
LSU Alabama, huh?
Yeah.
But one thing about, you know,
we talk about Ry receiver U you who is DBU?
Is DBU Ohio State? LSU? Is it Alabama?
Yeah.
I mean the conversation when it comes to receivers, they're much, there are many more receivers than it is.
DBU is coming out of school, but somebody has to be DBU.
You think so? You gotta be one of them. his DBs coming out of school, but somebody has to be DBU.
You think so? You gotta be one of them.
Who you got?
And I don't know.
I mean.
AJ Green, AJ Green, what pick was AJ Green for?
That Georgia though.
Yeah, but I'm saying,
cause you know, he and Julio was in that 2011 draft
with Cam and Vaughn Miller. Okay. All them was in that draft. that. Yeah, but I'm saying because you know he and Julio
was in that 2011 with Cam and
Von Miller. Okay. All them
was in that draft. Cam Hayward,
all those guys. Richard
Sherman, Pat P, Julio Jones,
JJ Watt, Cam Hayward, Cam
Jordan. Yeah, all that was it. I think Robert Quinn was in that was
Robert Quinn. I think Robert Quinn was in that draft. Justin
Houston. Oh, I remember just used to with balling with the
Chiefs. What? Yeah, who was who was the number one pick that
year? You remember? Cam. Cam was one. Vaughn was two. Wait, who
was two? Oh, Vaughn Miller. Vaughn one was two. Wait, who was two?
Oh, Van Miller. Oh, Van Miller.
Okay. Hey, Cam's just, hey, he
had Marcel Darius and then I
think I think AJ Green went
four to the Bengals and then
Pat P and then Julio. Oh man,
Cam should still be playing. How
come all the other quarterback
get to play? No umpteen years. Cam style man. That style ain't conducive for
you playing no. Shit. That style is his style of play is
not conducive for playing long. You can play great for the
period of time. So. But running the football shortens your
life. Your football life. So, likear, Lamar's style of play,
even though he's smart with it,
knowing when to get down, he's at a smaller frame.
He ain't taking the collisions like Cam did.
Yeah, he's smart now.
Yeah, he understands, yeah.
Well, hold on, wait a minute now.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute.
So if that's the case,
then Josh Allen ain't gonna play that long.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. So if that's the case,
then Josh Allen ain't gonna play that long.
He ain't taking shots like Cam.
Go back and look at Cam in the Super Bowl.
Go back and look at Cam that next year.
Cam was getting head on collisions.
For real?
Go back and look at the shot that Cam took
when he was playing New Orleans.
Go back and look at it when he was, you know,
showboating in the end zone.
And the guy put his helmet right, I think it might've been the Falcons.
And he put his helmet right up on his chin.
Are we trying, they were trying to kill him out there?
Yeah.
And rightfully so.
Because you're no longer, I don't, I don't look at you as a quarterback.
I look at you as a runner.
You're a running back.
Okay.
You're right.
You're right.
You're right.
Yeah.
And the way I look at it, if your coach don't care that much about you
by calling plays, why should I?
It's his job to protect you, not mine.
So I'm as hard as God will let me legally.
Hey, he was that boy though.
I was just thinking, I was just thinking about,
you said 2011, and I'm thinking about,
well, God damn, look at all the quarterbacks,
even if you're not a starter anymore,
they still keep you around, so you can, you can, you damn, look at all the quarterbacks, even if you're not a starter anymore, they still keep you around.
So you can squeeze out another eight, seven easy as a backup.
Easy.
Yeah, but normally, I mean, how many MVPs you see hang around like that though?
Joe Flacco is still playing.
I play to get Joe Flacco is still playing I play I play
I
know I
Ain't played football in 20 years
They don't normally let great quarterbacks hang around like that
They don't they don't let great players hang around like that guys that special teams guys
Those are the guys that get 10 15 years
You're a great player because you got to realize, Ocho,
they only see you as a great player.
See, if you've never been great, it's cool.
I ain't got no expectations from you.
Oh.
See, they're gonna expect Cam to be that same Cam
in 2015 to win the MVP.
Okay, I see you.
Oh, that's a good one.
Hey, you put things in the perspective.
I like that.
I mean, think about it. Look at the guys like man, that's a
that joke had a nice little career. That guy here like
13 years over there put that that was smooth. I like that
because I'm thinking I'm thinking I'm thinking about
how I would not a whole lot of expectations. I'm thinking
about the backup quarterbacks. They just talked about one
that thing he just recently retired man made by made by
made by 60 million.
Ain't really was really never a starter.
I came out, I can't remember his name.
But I'm like, ain't nobody will guess nobody going to call for him.
The quarterback struggle ain't nobody calling for him.
We won't. We won't.
They don't want that.
And I do I believe Cam could have could have been a backup. Yeah.
Yeah, but I think the fans if cam goes somewhere and somebody
struggle everybody they won't.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Damn, I forgot what quarterback that was made by 60 million.
I think he just retired.
They were just talking about it too.
Ugh, come on.
Why is this taking so long?
This thing is ancient.
