Starting point is 00:03:31 Shee Shea Media, and My Clothing Company, 84 with 84 being spelled out. That link is pinned in the chat. Okay, we saw the debut today. Travis Hunter Ocho saw action on both sides of the football in his preseason debut, the Jags versus the Steelers. On offense, he had 11 snaps, two receptions, nine yards. On defense, he had eight snaps with zero targets. Um, Ocho, I might have to get a couple more jobs like you because the way they got these games spread out and how you're going to have to pay damn there.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You basically got to pay to watch each individual game, Ocho. I mean, listen, you know what you can do? You can use YouTube TV. You can use YouTube TV where you get most of the games. And also I have the NFL app on my phone. So the NFL app allows you to be able to go back and forth through some of the games you want to. You can't see them all at the same time. But it's just the preseason, huh?
Starting point is 00:04:24 It's just the preseason. And so it's kind of difficult to be able to watch the ones you want to watch based on location. Right. And where they are. Most of them are regional games. Right, right, right. But once the regular season gets in, gets in, you know, you'll be able to watch multiple at one time, especially the one o'clock games, obviously the 430 games, and then those that are slated at 7.30.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Right. But he did have 11 snaps, two receptions for nine yards. Nothing deep, nothing significant. He gave up leverage on one play. He'll learn. these guys are really good. Hey, if you got leverage and he had leverage and let the guy bounce outside,
Starting point is 00:05:00 you ain't catching those guys. No, no, no, no, no. You got to maintain your lane responsibility and integrity. But like I said, it was, it was, you know, I just wanted to see what, you know, we saw what we saw. What, it wasn't, you know, I'm saying? I mean, how do we rate it?
Starting point is 00:05:16 He caught two passes for nine yards and he had eight snaps with no targets. Yeah, I mean, the one thing is, it's kind of, it's not, it's not, It's not nitpicking. One thing that he will learn to on the two paths that he did catch. I call it. I always call it that Marvin Harrison.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Remember Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison always having that under, that short length of six yards and coming in? Yeah. He did so well in college that the players and the DVs in college didn't do. They would overcommit so much he'd be able to spin out the back door. He'd be able to spin out the back door. But now, now that you're at the next level, they don't overcommit. They come the ballot right away and they make the tackle
Starting point is 00:05:55 So he tried to be careful with that too, Ocho Because you know the big guys You know the big guys trailing now Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what happened when they see that ball thrown? What do they do? They're coming. Yeah, they're coming.
Starting point is 00:06:11 But you got to remember, he's coming from outside to end and trying to spin back outside. Yes. Maybe he is out of control, but most of the time they're not out of control. No. So they were under control.
Starting point is 00:06:21 listen, you split the man in half when you attack coming to tackle. Right. You always hit the target. So I mean, you keep up and you don't let him get on your outside shoulder. Because a lot of times, like you said, they overcommit and they're outside shoulder inside the man. Now he spins out. Now you see, as long as my outside shoulder is free, I can tackle you.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Bingo. Yeah. Yeah. So that's it. That's it. He'll see it will be much more difficult to be able to do some of those tricks that you did in college because he's, he's, were out of control, they overcommit, they attack in the inside shoulder, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:55 and all you got it, once you spin back, it becomes a foot race and you running down and side. Race them to the corner now, I got my inside half. I got my steel farm free, just still farm you and pick up yards. But yeah, those are things that, you know, as you play at this level, you'll learn a lot of the tricks of the trade. You'll know when to get down, when you can fight and struggle for extra yards, because I'm telling you those big guys and those legs hurt.
Starting point is 00:07:18 When them 300 pounds hit you, that's different than a DB time. you know yeah because he hitting he putting helmet on you and and we putting 300 pounds exactly yeah so um and on the on defense side like I said he just had that one that one play that I saw that he gave up leverage but other than to that nothing you know really made you to write home about I don't think it's going to be really hard to judge him Ocho unless he gets significant snaps you know what I'm saying and they give him an opportunity and we see him we see them like game plan to get him to football It's hard being, he caught two passes, nine yards.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Yeah, listen, I thought, I thought obviously the hype around Travis Hunter, second, second pick in the draft, I thought they were going to feature him a little bit. But obviously, they allowed Trevor Lawrence, they allowed the offense to flow. Whatever they gave them, they just, they didn't feature him. Who, first play of the game, Brian Tomlin Jr., goddamn hits on the right side. Then I thought they would come to him at some point and just get him acclimated and then get him going. But not, no, they just waited.
Starting point is 00:08:21 when the opportunity presented itself they threw in the ball and you know it was it was simple yeah me personally i think you're going to spend more time on offense than defense but hey that that remains to be seen um but i do think uh you'll probably get a lot more you will see a lot more Travis and what he's capable of doing once the season start i don't think they're gonna you know try to prove any point or make anything you know do anything have him do anything spectacular in the postseason Because the thing is, Ocho, I want to, you know, you try to keep most of your stuff under wraps. Yeah, we got to. I don't want to show you too much in the preseason because these games don't mean anything.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I'm just trying to get timely. I'm trying to get the guys, you know, get the guys in football shape. Yeah. Because here's the thing. Now with three games, you play the third game. Now you got a week in between when you play again. It used to be, you know, Alchah, we played that Thursday, Friday. And guess what?
Starting point is 00:09:16 We were playing the following Sunday. It's not like that anymore. no so now you play now you got another week in between before you go play right yeah so i'm just trying to get the guy as conditioned as i possibly can let them know what it's going to be expected uh uh you know the the timing and all that stuff but i i think travis fine like i said 11 snaps two receptions nine yards eight snaps zero targets he got 19 he got 19 snaps which is probably about what you would think if he was just a rookie playing on one side of the ball that's probably what you thought he would get.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Right. 19 snaps. Yeah. I'm excited for him. But the most outstanding thing in the game happened when Jaguars kicker Cam Little nailed a 70-yard field goal as the first half expired in Jacksonville's preseason open
Starting point is 00:10:08 against the Steelers. That would have broken the NFL record had it been the regular season. Justin Tucker kicked a 66-yard field goal to beat the Lions September 20th. 26, 2021 at Ford Field. Now, it's a lot different, it's a lot different kicking outside than it is inside because you got controlled conditions.
Starting point is 00:10:30 You don't have to worry about when. You don't have to worry about rain. You don't have to worry about anything. Right. That field goal that this gentleman kicked looked like it had been good for him about 72 because he boomed it. Yeah, he did. He did.
Starting point is 00:10:41 He boomed it. And look, I don't care. I know it's preseason. It doesn't count. Well, you go out there, you go out there to the high school field. kick a 70 yarder i mean listen it's very difficult i don't think people understand how far that is even for those who are professionals you have to understand being able to kick it from that far one most people do have the leg but the problem is it's not it's not about having a leg and act
Starting point is 00:11:01 it's about having the accuracy to be able to kick from that far split the upright you have to understand the uprights have been have been changed huh they're a lot more narrow than they used to be yes for the room for error the room for error when kicking you know most of the time the ball depending on if you have the consistency. Yes, yes, yes, yes. You have the consistency in your follow through. You can't swing to the left or you can't leave your leg open
Starting point is 00:11:25 and it'll go wide right. No, everything has to be perfect. That finish that following. Especially when you're kicking it that far. Yeah. If anything is off, you're kicking that far and ain't going. You waste it down. One way or the other.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And the funny thing about it is, most people say, well, it is a preseason. There's no pressure as well in this kick. There's no pressure. the circumstance that you're in. You know, it's preseason. You know what? We're going to allow you to kick.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Will they allow them to kick from 70, maybe in a regular season game where it actually counts? Probably not. If you think about it, if you do miss, you got to understand the team is already in. Steelers didn't even put anybody back. That was my point. They didn't even put anybody back there.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Right, right. So they're like, hey, don't even worry about it. That is the thing, what you're saying, is that they normally have a guy back there. And if you miss it, you got really only two guys, maybe your wings that can tackle. Tackle, yep. They're normally linebackers are tied in.
Starting point is 00:12:25 So those are really, you only really got two guys that can tackle. You got offensive linemen, mainly offensive linemen. Now, you might have a defensive lineman on there, Ocho, but he ain't tackler in space. No, no. And you know the kick. What's the likelihood of the kicker the holder getting somebody down? That ain't happen. Because we saw it on the kick six, Auburn versus Alabama.
Starting point is 00:12:42 We've seen Antonio Cromartie run those things back. We've seen Devin Hester run it back. I think OBJ ran one back in college. So when you put people in situations that they're not used to being in, which is offensive linemen having to tackle, kickers and punters having to tackle, especially with that kind of space. Now, if you get him hemmed up on the sideline,
Starting point is 00:13:06 you can try to put you out of bounds. But that guy and got ahead of steam, and, you know, they're taught in linemen don't really know how to get lanes, Ocho, because, you know, they following each other. They followed right behind one another. Bro, spread their ass out. We got lanes now that you have to get in. Yeah, they don't know them, no.
Starting point is 00:13:25 But that was, I was like, and why not, like you said, Ocho, why not try something like this? Okay, now I got the confidence. Because if it's a late in the ball game, instead of trying to hell, Mary, hell, I might let the kicker come out there and try it. Put him on out there, either the tire game or the winter game. Especially if we're in Indy or Houston.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Because those are indoor arenas. And there's no factors from the outside elements. Yes. Yes. Yeah. So, look, congratulations. It does not count towards the record. But you know, you know now I got the leg. The coach knows you have the leg.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Hey, you know. You got to think, oh, Joe, that's a kickoff. Yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. You, do the kickoff. Hey, you, hold on, wait a minute now. You do know your co-host can kick just as far, right? No, you'd never kick that far.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Hold on. Time out, time out, time out, time out, time out. You know there's video, there's visual evidence. There's video evidence. I don't know, Ash is there. You have a great team of people that can pull things up. No, she on vacation. Of real? Ash, can you please show, Unk?
Starting point is 00:14:38 Me kicking from 60, 65 yards, please, and having even more room to go once it's going. goes through. I think I might have been with during this time. I might have been with Bleach Report. We were doing something. It's on line. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm talking about it in the game. Now, if you can't, I saw you make a PAT in the game.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Listen, 65 yards in the game. And, or just, just doing it, you know, in the park, practicing. It's still, so, so a guy catching the ball in the turkey bowl is the same as kicking the ball in the NFL, huh? Well, absolutely, when we're not talking about a guy, we're talking, you're actually referring to an action. to a player who plays, you know, in the NFL or played. Played.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Right, right. Many, many years ago. Right, but I still can. Mentally, I know what to do. Now, the body might not react the way it should. Yeah, I know. I know what to do. I know how to run.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I know how to, like, swing my arms and put one leg in front of the other. But doing it is something entirely different. Right. I was just trying to give you a small example that your co-host can kick 65, 70 yards as well. No, maybe once upon time my co-host can kick 65, 70 yards. You feel to realize I've got to play soccer every weekend. I'm part of a soccer league here in Miami. Let me ask you a question.
Starting point is 00:15:50 You think you you you think messy leg speed is the same as it was, say 15 years ago? No, no, his speed, easy. Like being able to break out and get away from people. I said his leg speed. Oh, no, absolutely not. No, no. Why not? No, because he's much older now.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Hey guys, it's AZ Fudd. You may know me as a gold medalist. You may know me as an NCAA national champion. most outstanding player. Starting point is 00:17:59 Take a listen. What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete? The final. The final. And the locker room. I really, really, like, you just can't replicate, you can't get back. showing up to locker room every morning just to shit talk. And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Oh, okay, thank you very much. We can move along. Cam Ward NFL preseason debut tonight in Tampa. Five of eight completions, all completions coming on the second drive,
Starting point is 00:18:51 67 yards passing, an 89.1 rating led a 65-yard touchdown drive. Ocho, the little bit, the limited action that you saw. You like what you saw? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. The funny thing about it is, you know what, is these players are NFL ready. Some rookies that I saw today are so poised in the pocket. Most of the time they get happy feet when pressure is put upon them.
Starting point is 00:19:15 But they look like they've been playing for 10 plus years. They look like veterans, the pocket presence, the relaxedness under the rest. Cam Ward showed it. Jackson Darts showed it as well. Obviously, we saw the door last night who also played with that same calmness and poise. And you can see the leadership qualities in the way they carry themselves as quarterbacks. And Cam, small samples, that we were able to see tonight. He didn't play much, but you can tell he's sharp.
Starting point is 00:19:45 You can tell he's been coached well, not just here at the NFL level where he was at now, because it doesn't just happen that fast. It's not that fast of a turnaround to look that comfortable like you know what you're doing. So he was coached very well, obviously, when he was at UM, and so it's carried over into the NFL. And I'm excited for Tennessee Titan fans, you know, and what they had with the number one pick. I just don't like the fact that he's been overshadowed since his,
Starting point is 00:20:11 pick because everyone else has been talked about. This is the least talked about number one pick. I think maybe ever ever. You were the number one pick. So it seemed like he's went under the radar. No one said anything about him
Starting point is 00:20:27 when most of the pressure is on a number one pick to perform because you're going That's good. That was the worst last year. Like you said, I can fly under the radar. Right. The difference is now, Ocho, these guys come in.
Starting point is 00:20:41 they've been coached by throwing coaches since they were in high school. Yes, sir. Their freshman year. So there's not like the guys that came in 25 years ago. They were just coming to the NFL and then, okay, hey, you hire coach right before you getting ready to go, you know, to the end up to the combine. Right. And then you work wait them up until your pro day and that's it.
Starting point is 00:21:04 These guys have these guys all the time. It's just like basketball players. They got shooting coaches. They got trainers now in college. So they have an upper hand. That's why they're so, when you find a guy that's ready, he's really ready to play. Yes, yes. These receivers, they work with guys.
Starting point is 00:21:26 So when you find a guy that's ready, he's really, really ready. Yeah. So guys are not coming in like you, I mean, like I came in. Right. I mean, guys, you know, time, I mean, guys would go down there for like maybe six weeks and work with a speed coach. But these guys got professionals basically training them. Right. Sometimes they have them in high school, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:21:47 So just imagine you going through the process and they're giving you pro-style advice. Right. And you know what? I think that's why so many different quarterbacks, obviously they looked apart, but don't have all the other intangibles to be a starter. They looked apart.
Starting point is 00:22:05 But Cam Ward, not only did he look apart, but he had everything else. He had all the other qualities that make him the number one pick. Obviously, he should do it, falling to the fifth round. Not only do he look the par, but he has all the other intangibles that made him a top pick
Starting point is 00:22:19 despite him falling to the fifth round. Right. They polished. They're polished. That's all it is. You're a rookie who's been prepared for the NFL level, so you look the par
Starting point is 00:22:30 once you're in a structured environment in a real live game. God damn, how the hell he's dropping back so goddamn calm? Everybody rushing trying to knock. his head off and he's sitting there chilling progression one two three okay three's not there let me shoot back to one if one ain't there I'm either throw out of the bounds or I'm gonna tuck it in wrong hell not you better not if you go one two three and try to go back to one they're
Starting point is 00:22:53 gonna hit you put your put this hill right up under your chair you better take that check down yeah yeah hey one two three check down one two three throw it out of bounds yeah one of the other or take off with it yeah and and I think Ocho I think that's what we're seeing If you look at these quarterbacks, I mean, it used to be a quarterback throwing for 20 touchdowns in a season. I was like, oh, my gosh, he really did. Man, this guy's throwing for 25, 30 touchdowns. Yeah, easy. It's a, look, and I understand the rules have a lot to do with that, the way they protect the quarterback, the way they protect the receiver.
Starting point is 00:23:28 The way they throw the football now is more conducive for quarterback having better stats. But I do think these guys are a little bit more advanced than when the older guys, the Montana's and the Lways, and the Marinos when they came out. I'm not saying they're better, but they're coached more. And so I don't, John probably never, I don't know Danny or John to be interesting. Ray, you have, you had a, uh, you had a pro coach, you have a Tom House or you have a, uh,
Starting point is 00:23:56 what's Carson Palmer's brother name? Oh, Jordan, Hey, Jordan Palmer's real deal. You have a, did you have a Jordan Palmer? Did you have a George Whitfield? Mm-hmm. Did you have any of those guys to, to, to help you? All these quarterbacks, those right offensive linemen they're working out with offensive line coaches they're working out with
Starting point is 00:24:16 former great NFL linemen so they're a little bit more advanced than than say the guys you know even if you want to say 10 years ago 15 years ago definitely when you go start going back 20 30 years ago they're more advanced just like the guys are coming out in basketball you see how and even baseball these guys you know fathers played and so they got you know hitting coaches. They got pitching coaches. They're looking at bio mechanics and they look at all the best. Hey, the funny thing about it, you think about the time
Starting point is 00:24:48 and the time change and technology is advanced and everything evolves. They have better resources. They got unlimited to get better at said position, whatever it may be, whatever their respective craft may be to hone that skill set. So when they do make it to
Starting point is 00:25:06 the highest level apart. Now, it's one thing to looked apart. Everybody, I mean, the it factor can get you in the door, but you got to have all the other stuff that comes with it to excel. Yeah, I totally, I totally agree. But I thought Campbell played really well, especially like the second drive. You got the ball to Calvin Ridley.
Starting point is 00:25:26 You know, really, hey, that's somebody he can lean heavily on. Right. Because he's one of the premier rock runners. And he started to get you, he started to look like Calvin Ridley again. Because you remember that last year that he really played in Atlanta. He was cutting. He was doing it. He was really doing it.
Starting point is 00:25:47 On the other side of the ball, rookie Shiloh Sanders delivered multiple big hits, including one on Brandon Allen on the blitz. First round draft pick, Emeka, Ibuka. Also showed off his physical attributes, leaping 21-yard grab, backup quarterback, Kyle Trask. I mean, Shudor's played really well.
Starting point is 00:26:08 I mean, I've seen footage of him in camp, He did a great job of, in the one-on-one team, a one-on-one period against the tight-ins. You did a great job. You saw that route? I saw him. He's on it. He was on it.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Because you have to understand, he started out, he started out as a corner. Yeah. So he does have corner instinct. I didn't know that. I thought he was always, he started out as a corner and then moved to safety. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Okay, okay, okay. But when, yeah, yeah, I thought he played well. We know he's a thumper. He's looking to get, oh, yeah. Look and get down here and put big hips on you. Yes, sir. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:39 But I, I thought he, I think it's going to be interesting, Ocho. How many special teams can he play? Right. Because that's going to be the key. He's not a start. Now, he could be working to win to the starting lineup. But as a right now, I don't think he's a starter.
Starting point is 00:26:54 So now, what are the ways can you contribute? Right. He'll be on special teams, whether it be field goal, whether it be, we'd be kickoff. Yeah, punt return. Can you be a jammer? Can you be a gunner? On the, yes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Can you be on the front line? Can you be an L, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the front line? You definitely are going to be on kickoff, obviously. Yeah. Is it me or does it seem like kickoff is much more, much easier as opposed to how it was during our day. You know, you had the wedge buster. You had the ball. Yeah, they don't really want those type of collisions.
Starting point is 00:27:36 So they don't, if you see, they're not letting you get that kind of running. start right yeah um it's different it's not it's i mean uh i i think hester said he'd have probably more return touchdowns had they'd have had it in like that so it's been interesting to to see what would have happened um but the advancements i don't i don't have a problem with it oh joe i mean sometimes like man i'm just saying it's different it's very different yeah it's very different uh the guy that you really like in the first round the uh books selected uh a mecca a uh Bucca, you like him, you like McMillan, Carolina, and they both look good. You like, I think, what the go, did Golden go in the first round or the second round for Green Bay?
Starting point is 00:28:23 Matthew Golden. Oh, yeah. McMillan. I think Golda winning the second ride. She, he ran 14. First, number 23. Yeah. Then it had Jayden, Higgins, went the second round.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Luther Burton, the third, witnessed the second round. Trey Harris went to the second round and Jack Beach went in the second round. So there were, in the first two rounds, there were seven receivers that went in the first two round. Yeah. Who do you expect to have the biggest impact? Probably, honestly. Out of everyone you just name, I know Matthew Golden is good. He's phenomenal.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Obviously, they do have dubs. They have Jane Reed, so I don't think he will get the number of targets necessary to be able to showcase. Reed, Dobbs, Watson. Yeah, yeah. It's so many of them over there. I think he will contribute. but I really believe T-Mac McMillan over there with the Panthers
Starting point is 00:29:12 you know and with what he's able to do and would he show very small sample size honestly it's been one preseason the game but again I've been high on the Panthers I think T-Mack is going to be the one to show showcase his ability and what he can do is a mismatch every time he leaving one-on-one he's very tall
Starting point is 00:29:29 he can run after the catch and obviously 50-50 ball turning 80-20 when it is him So I'm excited for him. He's the one I'm highest on in hoping that not just him, but collectively as a group, offensively, as a receiving corps, I think they make the difference in Bryce Young taking the next step in his career. I agree.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I thank him. I like Ibuka also for the simple fact, how healthy. It's good God would be upon his return. Right, right. Um, is the only, is he going, I don't think he's on pup, but so it's going to be interesting to see how he used, because, you know, we know Baker can throw it. Oh, yeah. Hey, you got Mr. consistency on one side, Evans, Mike Evans.
Starting point is 00:30:21 And then so Buka could really have a huge year. But I, but I, but I like McMillan also. Long, angular guy. What is he like, six, three, six, four, make tough contest. the catch is. He's good run after the catch. Yeah. I mean, I think he's good. I think Matthew Golden. I mean, you look, you look at Romeo Dobbs. You mentioned Kristen Watson. You mentioned Reed.
Starting point is 00:30:45 They got a lot. They got a lot of receivers. They don't really have a guy that, like, okay, this is the guy that you got to worry about. You kind of got to worry about them all because in a given moment, because, you know, it might be Dobbs weeks, one week, and that it'll be Christian. Watson. Watson's biggest thing is staying healthy. Healthy, yeah. Hey, he can put him up and put him down. He can pick them up with a mouth. Quietly.
Starting point is 00:31:05 The goddamn Packers got a four by one team, huh? Mm-hmm. Yeah. They got a four by one team. Yeah. Dubs, Watson, Reed can fly. Dubs. Golden can fly.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Man, stop playing. Yeah. I think McMillan and Ibuka would have the biggest. But I'm not going to sleep on, you know, Luther Burton, a lot of people thought he'd be a first-round draft pick, receive out of Missouri. He goes to the Bears. They got DJ Moore.
Starting point is 00:31:40 They got Roma Dunezay. They drafted a tight end in the first round. They still have Cold Commit. They upgraded their offensive line. They should be, and they got Detroit's old offensive coordinator, as the head coach, calling the plays. I call it Mr. Creativity. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:56 So they should definitely be better offensively. And if they are better offensively, well big number because if you look at Detroit you look at James had a phenomenal season you look at Armand Ross St. Brown yeah oh yeah yeah had a big season you know what's funny is Armand Ross St. Brown he's one of the top five receivers depending on how you put him in the new order in the NFL why I really think it didn't matter who was calling the goddamn plays because he's so good at just route running in general. He's a polished one.
Starting point is 00:32:36 You know what? I don't have to scheme you open. He's one of those where officers of coordinators and your head coach, you know what I can sleep at night because I ain't got to worry about that one. It don't matter who we plan. I don't have to worry about him. I know what he can do. So you add what he can do in his skill set and his DNA
Starting point is 00:32:51 and then you put that with the creativity that Ben Johnson has. Yes. You get what you saw last year. You get magic. You get magic. And I don't know if there's anyone like that with that type of skill set similar to Amman Ross St. Brown on the Bears, but DJ Moore is damn good.
Starting point is 00:33:09 He's not that far behind. He's not, he doesn't have that short area of quickness like that. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. That's not what he is. Can he play the slot? Yeah, he's an outside the number. He and Rome and Dunesley is outside the number type of guys. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:33:24 So. All right. You're going to be all right. The good thing about it is, is Ben Johnson is going to understand and know his player's strengths and put them in position to be able to make those plays and not allow them to be exposed
Starting point is 00:33:36 in whatever their weakness is that we can't see watching from home. We don't know it. They know it. Right. Hey guys, it's AZ Fudd. You may know me as a gold medalist. You may know me as an NCAA national champion

So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Jackson Dart shined in his NFL debut, 12 of 19, 154 passing yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions. He led three scores. driving drives. The TD came on a 29-yard strike down the left sideline to little Jordan Humphrey with pressure in his face. He also rushed three times for 24 yards, Ocho. You like what you saw? Yeah. Shoot, listen, we wasn't even on Jackson Darden. I started to show off with how
Starting point is 00:36:43 good he looked in being in season ready, being polished, you know, look really good in the pocket. He wasn't erratic. Most of the time you get rookie quarterbacks in an environment like that in a game and everybody got happy feet. Everybody got happy feet. They look at the first read. The first read ain't there. They take it off and they're gone. But no, he did everything.
Starting point is 00:37:07 He did everything the right way. You can tell he's another one who's been coached up and was ready for the moment. The moment wasn't too big for him, even though it's just the preseason. So it's like going on your first date. The first thing you want to do in your first date is you want to be impressionable.
Starting point is 00:37:22 You want to do everything possible to do all the right things. You want to open the door. You want to let her order first? Huh? He did everything right. Shoot, as did Cam Ward, and obviously we saw Shador, who had a bigger plate to be able to show what he can do.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Hell, he got the third base in the first night. Mm-hmm. And he played, I mean, all the quarterbacks played, Rush was six of seven, James was seven of 11, 62 yards of touchdown. Tommy DeVito, 10 of 14, 73 yards, a touchdown. Jackson Dart, 12 of 19. 154 yards and a touchdown 35 and 51 317 three touchdowns so uh clearly they had a plan they
Starting point is 00:38:07 were going to throw the football oh yeah absolutely absolutely and uh i thought i thought i thought i thought the guys played really really well uh jackson dart threw the ball well a little jordan humphrey uh been in the league for a while so he had some a uh a consistent player outside to catch the ball for him. But yeah, Jackson Dart looked, he looked extremely well. You know, he went to Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin. Lane, yep. Great offense in mind. He coached the quarterbacks, he does a great job coaching quarterbacks. So maybe I'm not as, I'm not surprised that he played so well given who he tutelage under. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And the funny thing about it is, I believe Russell wasn't going to be the starter. Russell wasn't going to be the starter for the New York
Starting point is 00:38:54 Giants. I can tell you that. But they wanted to see what Jackson Dart would look like once the keys are turned over to him. Now, it could be this season if things aren't going well for the Giants offensively. But Russell Wilson will be the starter for the New York Giants for the foreseeable future unless things aren't going well offensively. Well, I'll see him as a starter. I don't know if he's going to be the finisher. But listen, there's a chance he stays the finisher because of what he has around him. You get that ball You get that ball to the other, who knows? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:27 You put him in position to make plays for you. It makes your job a lot easier. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Oh, bad. Hey, somebody in the chat making fun of me, uh? What did? They talk about I got the same thing I had on last night,
Starting point is 00:39:42 on last night's show. Well, actually, I do. I ain't take no shower, so. But, I mean, look, are you going to keep two veteran quarterbacks and a rookie? Yes. James Winston is not the one. He's great, great, great. No, but I'm saying, that's what I'm saying. You're going to keep two veteran quarterbacks. You know what you're playing Russ.
Starting point is 00:40:05 You're probably paying James. What are you paying James? What are you paying James? Five to seven million? And you know Jackson Dart's not going anywhere. No, but you keep, you keep Russ. I mean, you keep James Winston, a great locker room presence, a great presence for the team in general. He's just good for the locker room in general. And just, if it comes, down to emergency situations. We understand that James can go in there and have some fun. Not only have
Starting point is 00:40:29 some fun, but be consistent, kind of turnover prone, depending on how long he's in there at the position, but outside of that, he can make plays as well. But that's a tough division, don't you? Oh, very. Very. I mean, you got the Eagles, you got to watch the commanders and you got the Cowboys. I mean,
Starting point is 00:40:45 people think the Cowboys are going to be better. How much better? I don't know. We think the Eagles are still the cream of the crop of that division, based on what they did last year, what they brought back. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, watching the commanders.
Starting point is 00:40:59 We expect, we expect Jane Daniels not to have a sophomore slump. Now, they do have someone that's disgruntled. Okay. Terry McLauric. I was going to say, I was going to say, listen, having your number, having your number one target, having your security blanket paid and happy would help prevent
Starting point is 00:41:15 having a sophomore slump. But, hey, maybe they know what they're doing over there in Washington, but there is no room for error. There is no room for error in that NFC East when it comes to quarterback play. You got to be consistent week in and week out because everyone else is so good.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Everyone else got so much better. Hell, the Eagles coming off a goddamn Super Bowl win. You think they don't want to go back? They don't do anything but improve as well. Yep. I agree. So Jackson Dart. See? should do her to-shae bro yeah
Starting point is 00:41:55 Brian dayball on what he thought of Jackson dark's performance it's about what I thought it would be efficient effective aggressive confident in the pocket still stuff can be can work on yeah but he's doing good Brian dayball is a great coach I mean I like his offensive mind I don't you know he remains to be seen offense as a head coach right but we saw it met Alabama now he didn't have the great success at Cleveland But hey, there ain't a whole lot of outside of a Paul Brown.
Starting point is 00:42:28 There hadn't been a whole lot of coaches that had success in Cleveland. Well, Marty had some success. He got the AFC championships a couple of times with the Brown. Sam Rittigliano. That was before your time when he was the Cleese in the early 80s. But Brian Dayball's offensive mind, I mean, he was the guy that really got Josh Allen on track, Ocho. Now, then people, because proud of him getting there, people are like, I don't know, the jury is still out on Josh. And then Brian Dayball comes there.
Starting point is 00:43:02 And not only, he was so good, he parlayed that into a head coaching job for himself. Yeah. Yeah. And so, yeah, he said he was efficient. He was effective. He was aggressive and confident. Things that you like for the quarterback. You like for it to be efficient.
Starting point is 00:43:20 You like for it to be effective. You like for him to be aggressive. Don't be, hey, dinking and dunking it on here because you're scared to throw the ball. No, I throw the ball down the field. Yeah. It was third down. It was third down. And he took the three by one side, the three by one side, he took the deep ball instead of throw the, instead of throw a short for the first down.
Starting point is 00:43:42 See, he said, F that. It's third. It's third and whatever. Yeah, hell, he went deep. Touchdown. Yeah. But that's when you're not afraid. you're not worried about your completion percentage.
Starting point is 00:43:52 You're not worried about your quarterback for rating. You're not worried about your QBR. Right. You score points by pushing the ball down the field. Oh, down the field, yeah. J.J. McCarthy said he was emotional in his first game in 364 days. McCarthy said there was a little tear drop during the National Anthem before he took the field for the first time since a torn miniscus in his right knee
Starting point is 00:44:14 that ended his rookie season. It was just the journey that any injured player goes on to get back out there and doing the things that they love. It just shows how much I care for this game. He completed his first three passes, all to wide receiver Jordan Addison and led the Vikings to a field goal on their opening drive before Kevin O'Connell pulled him.
Starting point is 00:44:35 McCarthy, four of seven completion. He was four completions of seven attempts, 30 yards. He also converted a fourth down with an eight-yard run. Ocho, did you like what you see from J.J. McCarthy? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:44:50 I was kind of nervous for him. I was kind of nervous for him. I wanted him to be able to, I wanted him to be able to get through a clean game. No mishaps. No mistakes are going to happen, but they're things that we're not going to be able to see. But it looked like he handled the offense very, very well.
Starting point is 00:45:07 I would have liked to see Justin Jefferson out there. Obviously, I think he's nursing something, trying to make sure he doesn't have any mishaps or soup up either with whatever injury is bothering him. But Jiji looked good. He looked like he looked like the question. quarterback of the future. Addison, everyone else around him look good as well.
Starting point is 00:45:24 So I don't see any problems. I don't see them missing the beat offensively as long as JJ does exactly what he's supposed to do. Hell, if Sam Darnock would do it, but what he had last year, then J.J. McCarthy can do it as well. Sam Howell came in and was 11 of 13 for 105 yards, Ocho. Brett Rippin was one for four.
Starting point is 00:45:44 But the guy that we wanted to see, like you said, he tore that meniscus last year and he missed his entire rookie season. And so to see him get back out there today, and he says it's emotional. And that's, that's true. The more you care about something, the more it hurts when you don't have it or you can't do it. Right. So it's, it was great to see him out there because they're lost the expectation. They're, you know, they're in a good division.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Look at, I mean, last year they went 14 and 3, and they started on the road because the 15 and 2, Detroit Lions. Yeah. We think Chicago's going to be better. We think Green Bay is going to be better. The bear, excuse me, Detroit. I mean, we don't think they're going to take a step back. They do get hutch back. Yay.
Starting point is 00:46:35 Mr. Motor. So, yeah, but I thought J.J. McCarthy played well. You know, it's really high. You don't want to say he's a rookie, but theoretically he is because he didn't really, really get anything done last year, Ocho. Because as soon as he, you know, I think he got hurt in practice. You know who I didn't see when we were talking about the Giants game? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:01 But did Brother Abdul Carter play today? He probably had limited snaps, huh? If he played at all, I mean, we can go back and see if I can find him on the, uh, on the, uh, on the, uh, he played. Actually, he did play. Okay, okay. But you know, as a D-Lyman, yeah, it's a rhythm, man. You just can't go out there to first play and get a sack.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Man, you got to be, hey, you got to, you know, you got to set the guy up. Yeah. You got to be, you know, now unless you did that, like that, that Janotte defensive lineman number 78, well, he made the game. He made the team tonight. Yeah. Two sacks, fumble recovery for a touchdown, pressure. Yeah, he on the team.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like, yes, son. He had six snaps. Abdul Carter had six snaps in the preseason debut. Three snaps were rushing the pass. So all three rushes resulted in the pressure and the hurry per PFF and next gen stats. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:04 So he did what he was supposed to do. He flashed. But like I said, I think the thing is with D. Lyman, they working on stuff. D. Lyman are basically like a wide receiver. Yeah. Because he's sitting you up for something that he's going to use at a later day and time. So if you think the move that you see that he starts the game with is the move that he's going to finish the game with, you're sadly mistaken.
Starting point is 00:48:28 It's just like a wide receiver. If you think that ride I ran on you to start the game is going to be the one I finish on you, you said, I'm going to give you the illusion. And that's what I'm getting ready. It's going to be that. Yeah. But it's not going to be that. Yeah. And Justin Fields preseason debut against the Packersfield was ultra efficient.
Starting point is 00:48:47 He was three or four on pass. in 42 yards, ran the ball twice for 14 yards and didn't take a single sack. Fields orchestrated a sharp opening drive against the Packer's starting defense, capping it off with a 13-yard rushing touchdown. This set the tone for an excellent preseason over for Aaron Glenn squad. Does field remaining calm composed in a controlled pocket? What do you think, Ocho, do you think, did you like what you saw from him tonight? Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Listen, we saw we saw flashes of brilliance when he was with the Bears. We saw flashes of what he can do when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers. So what we saw tonight is what we expected from Fields. It's all about him just being consistent and being able to do it week to week. He's always wanted to be a starting quarterback. I think he wasn't dealt a fair deal in Chicago because when you look at the Chicago Bears and that organization and the way they conducted and handled quarterbacks throughout the years, it hasn't been great at all.
Starting point is 00:49:43 It hasn't been great at all. It just hasn't. Now things are a little different. Got Ben Johnson there, Caleb Williams. Things are different the way they're running the system. Obviously, in Pittsburgh, Russ was promised a starting job. Russ gets hers.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Justin Field comes in. He plays phenomenal. He plays phenomenal, but obviously once Russ gets healthy, I mean, Justin Fields is bench, boom. Damn it, can I just get an opportunity? Can I get an opportunity to shine and show what I can do with the quarterback position? I can be quarterback number one. If you put me in a situation that is advantageous for me
Starting point is 00:50:14 and my skill set. Now, he has that in New York with a player's coach that played the game and understands exactly what you can and can do. You're going to do what he needs to do to make sure you're successful. You got Garrett Wilson.
Starting point is 00:50:28 I don't know who, and I can't remember his last name. I meant to write it down. I don't know if it was a fullback that kept making those plays tonight or tight in. I think he wore 47. I think he was wearing 47.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Hey, young bull popped out on film. He popped out on film to the point well, I don't know who this is. but I guarantee you he's going to have a starting job. I don't know if it was a full back or a tight end, but he was balling. Jets had 403 yards, total yards. Greenback had two turnovers.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Time of possession was 3841 Jets, 2119. First down was 21 to 12 in favor of the Jets. Like I said, I think his name is Jay Tufle. You made a team. tonight he did two sacks yeah and he had a fumble recovery for a touchdown
Starting point is 00:51:23 yeah he gonna be all yeah but I think that's that's the key for him the jet show that showed Justin Fields that they wanted him oh yeah yeah they gave a two year deal
Starting point is 00:51:36 they put him he's the starter they do have Tyrod to be his backup but that's what he wanted that's why he didn't go back to Pittsburgh he said now y'all already showed me what y'all want y'all already did me how y'all gonna do you're not gonna do me dirty twice no absolutely listen Pittsburgh is the situation where there's a young lady that wants you she wants you she don't want nobody else to have you so she put you in the friend zone
Starting point is 00:51:57 until the dude she really won't get his act together okay now I'm gonna put you off on the bench now I'm gonna deal with Russ that's what I mean that's the situation last year right so listen you get smart that ain't the situation that's ideal for me and where I want to go New York is perfect for him. He got somebody that actually wants him. I mean, you have somebody that actually wants you. You're able to play freely. Understanding, okay, I don't have to look over my shoulder.
Starting point is 00:52:22 I don't have the pressure of having to do everything perfect and do everything right. I can just play football. That's the thing. And I think AG, you know, they moved on from Aaron Rogers, basically for Justin Fields. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:41 Mm-hmm. But he made it easy for him, huh? Who Rogers? Yeah, he made it easy. No, you have someone like AG. Age you ain't playing with that. I'm not sure if I'm ready. I don't know if I'm buying in.
Starting point is 00:52:53 I don't know if I'm being there for training camp. I don't know if I'm going to take a dog. My, AJ ain't got time for that. I'm trying to change the entire culture. I need players that are born in whether you've been playing five years or even playing 20. I need you on the same page to me. And he just wasn't. Only if you're a relative, do you have tolerance with BS as a person?
Starting point is 00:53:11 person age. Yes, sir. Yeah. You know, you, a, if that person is not related to you, you know, people like, yeah, man, you know, old people, and, you know, look, at this juncture, A.G. coming in as a new coach, he needs everybody to be bought in. Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:31 Aaron being as great as he is and being who he is, he can easily sway a locker room. Mm-hmm. So I think it for AG to look at it like for me to make make sure I still have control of this locker room, let's just move on because I'm not so sure if Eric did there was there was something air that did AG want to hear Aaron say something unless Aaron came with that thing turning back flips like yes sir. Let's let's go AG. I'm ready. Right. Unless he got that they probably was going to move on anyway, Ocho. They probably going to move on. Yeah. Yeah. And. But hopefully Justin can seize this opportunity because this is a perfect opportunity. This might be the best opportunity because, you know, when he went to Chicago, you knew he was going to be the starter. They just didn't have the pieces around him.
Starting point is 00:54:22 And I don't know if that system was conducive and the coach was conducive. Now, he has another defensive-minded head coach, but I think AG has an offensive guy that can put Justin Fields in position. to be successful. Oh, yeah. And listen, you would do, let's understand what Justin Field has at a disposal over there with the Jets as well. You got Breece Hall,
Starting point is 00:54:50 you got Brother Allen, who looks like a Derek Henry, who looks the part. I mean, I'm not saying he's Derek Henry. I'm just saying they have a one-two punch at the runnerback position. We have one of top ten receivers in the NFL, depending on where you slayed him at,
Starting point is 00:55:06 depending on where you want him at, and Garrett Wilson. well god damn who's the number two I don't know who they damn who hey chat who's the number two
Starting point is 00:55:16 at receiver man with the Jets it's slipping my mind damn damn you think I mean hey look
Starting point is 00:55:30 uh Alan Lazzar still there Alan Lazzar Josh Reynolds Josh Reynolds You remember Josh Reynolds I think he played for the
Starting point is 00:55:42 Rams I think he was in like Tennessee So was he in Or was he in Detroit I'm almost certain he was at the Rams So hold on Alan Lazzard and Josh Reynolds So that's the that's the two and the three
Starting point is 00:56:04 And Gary Wilson yeah Okay He was trying to find out We know Gary Wilson that we're trying to find other receivers but that is Josh Ronald's that he's with the Rams I think he's with
Starting point is 00:56:13 Tennessee or did I say or was it a lion lion okay yeah
Starting point is 00:56:24 he with the Broncos he with the Broncos you like AG you think AG is the right fit for the jazz on Cho oh absolutely absolutely listen
Starting point is 00:56:36 you need a player like that that can deal that media. Forget in the house. Forget the football stuff. Give me somebody with a mindset and mentality that can deal with all the bullshit and the stereotypes that come along with being the head coach in a market of that magnitude. Once you get something that's ready for that, okay, now I can work on everything else. I can work from the top on down. And AG's the right player for that. And he played in New York. So he definitely understands it. Yeah, but listen,
Starting point is 00:57:04 one thing about it, even though he played in New York, you understand how those newspapers are. you ain't get no cut either. We ain't give me your, no break either. But if things ain't going right, we're going to hop on you too. Yep. But hey, the newspaper outlets and media outlets are ruthless.
Starting point is 00:57:20 And I don't know who creates some of the headlines sometimes. Boy, they're so creative. That's what they say. If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere. Make it anywhere. Hey, just sitting here talking about all this quarterback play,
Starting point is 00:57:34 man. It just remind me of my day, man. It'd be chide, man. man, remind me my days at Beach High, man. You know, I was one of the best in the state, huh? Huh? You hear me? I wanted the best in the state. No, you're one of the best in Liberty City.
Starting point is 00:57:47 No, no, no, no, in the state. What I'm talking about in the world? I was one of the best in the world. Hey, you know, it's funny to, to, for me to play quarterback at Miami Beach City High in 1996, I still remember my receivers, my number one and my number two, Dwight Sterb and Richard Lucille. My love, that's my little Zoe, Dwight, Dwight, I mean, Dwight was my home boy. He said he was good, boy. Ocho.
Starting point is 00:58:09 You think Joe Montana could tell you who his wife receivers were in college or in high school? You only had two or three, Ocho, damn. We probably came. But see, my two, Dwight's third for Richard Lucille? That's my zo. Richard Luce, that's my zo. Sapey, Richard, if you see this, you know, hey, we was out there doing work. Hey, listen, my running back was Tobar Wilson.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Oh, my goodness, boy. Tobar, hey, he was, oh, you should have saw me out there. Okay, named the office line. Name your five offices line at Oregon State. At Oregon State? Yeah. I play receiver. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Exactly. That's my point. Hey, I was running the office like this. Blue 80. Blue 8. Hey, Mike, you hot, you hot. You get two off the mic. You hot, boy.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Yeah. Chat, he ain't say none of that. Alert, alert, alert, alert, alert, alert, alert, alert, alert. And then I go to the gun. Hey, uncle, I go do none of that. Hey, hey, uncle, I used to be, hey, I used to be, hey, I used to be killing. I used to be killing that thing and a quarterback
Starting point is 00:59:08 I had on the number two, too. Hey, you got to remember, I was the baby when I was a freshman. D. Starks was the quarterback. Samari Role was a receiver. Terry Cousins was playing running back.
Starting point is 00:59:22 So you got to understand. And y'all won seven games. No, we was good now. Hey, Unk, you got to understand who we played against. Seven games. And we played against some good competition, man.
Starting point is 00:59:31 What, damn. Hey, Miami Northwestern, Miami Central, Edison High School. Them boy was stacked back then. I ain't hearing none of them players. I ain't hearing none of them named with y'all name. All the guys that you named played in the NFL. Yeah, I'm just, I'm just telling you the quality that my, my school had.
Starting point is 00:59:46 We had good quality. So what happened to the wins? Huh? What the quality, tell me the quality wins. I know y'all had quality players. What about quality wins? We had some quality wins now. I just don't remember the records from back then.
Starting point is 00:59:59 That's a very long time ago. You know your record. Were y'all 14 and 1, 15 and 0, 13 and 2? Obviously, no. You're lost in the state championship. Y'all lost in the semifinals, quarterfinals. Damn, I can't remember. But I did score four.
Starting point is 01:00:14 But I can tell you is I scored four touchdowns in one game. And nobody, nobody's done that. Nobody scored four touchdowns in one game. Did y'all win that game? Yes. Yes. Matter of fact, we almost beat Miami Northwest in the year they won state. One of the greatest, one of the greatest high school receivers I saw
Starting point is 01:00:35 with my own eyes, Marvin Snoop Minnis, out of the Scott projects that played for Florida State, played with Kansas City for a little bit before he got hurt. Yeah. I've never seen nothing like Snoop Minniss born high school. Oh my. Oh, Joe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:49 What am I supposed to do? We almost beat the team that won the state. What am I supposed to do with that? I don't know. I'm just trying to relive my story of high school, that's all. Hey, I'm just sharing that story. So we're talking football is taking me down,
Starting point is 01:01:01 memory lane. Can we talk about the young bulls that's going into the NFL, they got an opportunity to start at the highest level, and it just brought me back to where it all started. That's all. Okay. I'm just sharing my feelings and my story. That's all.
Starting point is 01:01:12 My bad. It's bad. Man. It sucks being you, Ocho. It sucks being old. You want to be young so bad to go back out there with the boys. No, I do. I'm doing it.
Starting point is 01:01:29 Because listen, I'm really not old. Like, I, it kind of, makes me upset and it kind of bothers me when people call me Unk. And I think about it, well, why are you calling me Unk? And I look younger than you. Sometimes, like, you know, it's like, what you mean, um? Yeah. You mean, look at you. Well, you look, 50. You look 60, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:47 because you're drinking your life away and you're smoking it, all that. But my body feel good, Unk. You hear me? I ain't never been hurt. I don't have no injuries. I take care of myself. You go back out there, you'll be hurt. You think so? I think, I think, I think, I think, I have the, the, the, the, the self-awareness and the IQ to be able to protect myself if given the opportunity to play at the highest level.
Starting point is 01:02:13 You think so? Yeah, I don't, I might not have the speed. I, I still have my, my, my, my, my, my, my, no, it ain't the same. It ain't the same. But even if it's not the same, it's still better than what's out there. No, it's not. You don't think so? Mm-mm.
Starting point is 01:02:30 You don't lost too much of it. Your spiky senses don't tingle anymore. Yeah. Because they ain't been on. You ain't turned them on in a long time. It's like a car. You could have a baddest car. You could have a Bugatti pay $6 million for it.
Starting point is 01:02:43 But don't let it run. Put it in your garage and don't cut it on for 12 years, 14 years, 15 years. Right. You're right. You're right. You think it's going to crank? Yeah, it should. It should.
Starting point is 01:02:56 No, it won't. And then you're going to have to. Then you have to go take it to the shop, get all the fluids flushed. Oh, man. You got to realize, don't you? You haven't run like that. Yeah. Like that, like you used to run in a very long time.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Yeah, you're right. You're right. You're right. I think there's a greater chance that you will hurt something than you go out there and look like your old self. Yeah. Hey, with a chat on my head, boy. What did they say? Hey, they call the all kind of names.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Chad hurts Chad Leaf Yeah exactly Hey Chad Bledso Chad Debedo Yeah man Ocho Did you see
Starting point is 01:03:49 Did you watch any of the Rams Cowboys game CD Lamb get rocks by the official On the sideline He was watching Joe Milton Throw a deep pass But he's watching on the Jumbotron He knows that Joe Milton has an arm
Starting point is 01:04:01 I think I saw something other day He threw it like 70, 75 yards So he got his hands up So he's watching the jumbo trial Like yeah, this touchdown Literally does he know He forgets that there's a side judge Ocho that's running
Starting point is 01:04:15 Right And And he hit him Man he ran dead into the back of CD And you know If you triple official That's unsportsman like conduct Wait the official
Starting point is 01:04:26 Well he wasn't on the field of play So how could he be? How could he? It don't matter. Didn't y'all have a get back coach, telling y'all to get back? Get back, get back. Get out the white.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Because what happened if you tripped the official? That's a 15-yard penalty. That's exactly what CED he got. He's lucky to get hurt because he relaxed, don't you know the guy coming. I mean, right, right, right, right. Maybe that's a blessing and a curse because he was relaxed. And he didn't tense up.
Starting point is 01:04:52 Was this, this wasn't a touchdown, was it? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, man. But that, you know, that's what they have, that's what, you know, we call them a get back coach. Right, right, right. Get back, because, you know, you got to give the official free run on the line, the sideline. Because if you trip him or something like that, right. It's not like basketball that you can, you know, you can run into the official because the official is part of the court.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Mm-hmm. But in football, you tripping, that's a 15-yard penalty. Yeah, you got to get out the way. Yeah, you got to get it. You're supposed to be five. You're supposed to be. First of all, you're supposed to be five yards from the, from the sideline that's what you're supposed to be because remember they got the tarp ocho
Starting point is 01:05:33 and the tarb you know you got the grass and it's like four to five yard open space and then you're supposed to stand on the tar but you know everybody be standing on the field yeah and that was get back get back he was penalized for a foul on the official i think it's a sports black conduct but uh oh yeah he's definitely yeah you can't go past the 30 you can't go that far down he like gilly remember gilly had the book baby gilly running down the field in the philly game it did spike the ball hey that was funny yeah hey uh-huh gillard uh wallow said man cuz i don't think you supposed that did that
Starting point is 01:06:19 Yeah, but I mean, I've seen, I've seen it called before. Yeah. And Citi had no, I mean, Ocho, you know, that's the worst feeling to bump into something that you don't know that's there. You know, somebody, you know, you're running and somebody running to you. Oh, my bad. Oh, they used to be notorious for that on the football field, Ocho. They catch you slip it. Oh, my band, shot my bag.
Starting point is 01:06:51 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, don't you worry about it, bro. You're right. Don't he worry about it. I'm going to get you back. Don't worry about it. I, if I don't get you, I'm, man, what was that for? Oh, because he got me.
Starting point is 01:07:02 He got, I can't get him because he, he's smart. He know he did some chicken-ish, so I can't get him. You didn't know anything about it, so I can get you because your guard was down. Got to get somebody, Ocho. Yeah, you got you got to. I got to get somebody. somebody go get got uh man i ain't got nothing to do about yeah you do your teammate you should you should uh uh he made a lot of the situation on i g ocho in his face he posted
Starting point is 01:07:33 cd got decked by the real i feel like everyone needs laugh hey that's funny he got yet uh he did he hey and yeah that was official i mean dude probably in his you know 50s 40s 50s. But the mere fact, he didn't see CD, CD didn't see him. He probably was mad. Probably want to throw two flags on CD. Probably. And you know why, you probably know why also CD didn't get hurt because his body was relaxed, because something was coming. He didn't tense up. Yep. Exactly. When you always think about, I don't mean to bring this up, but drunk drivers, do you always notice that the person that's always intoxicated the most who's always in a relaxed state in a high collision crash? For some reason,
Starting point is 01:08:18 always walks away and never gets hurt you're right you you're right yeah i hate to you can see the chat uh no what they're saying what they call you uh oh cho booms man hey boy it's it's so funny it's so hey it chad uh orlowski Man, you know the chat. You can't let the chat. Man, hey, they're on my head right now, man. They're on my head. Shadour said all the right things last night as he has expected at the great preseason
Starting point is 01:08:59 debut. Let's take a listen to what Shadour had to say. Yeah. I mean, God's patient with us. It's humans. We mess up that time, but I don't feel like he threw us away as individuals. So it's different things and different life lessons, you know, you got to go through. and I haven't went through this situation, you know, that I'm in ever.
Starting point is 01:09:24 So it's really just a test, you know. I feel like from God or whoever is from, it's just a test. But anyway, I'm just thankful that I was able to see the day of light and get out there and be able to play. So, you know, they didn't have to let me play. So anything and everything, you know, is good for me. So then, you know, the kids. looking up, the kids definitely inspire me, of course, more.
Starting point is 01:09:50 So a lot of people incarcerated that definitely talk to their friends and talk to me to tell me my friend from jail was, you know, watching you play and watching everything that's going on. So it's just like the world, you know, I say it's so small and everybody sees everything. And I'm thankful to be able to inspire people through everything. Because the lady just told me now, when I'm having a bad day, I just think about Shador.
Starting point is 01:10:16 And I'm saying, I'm going to act like. you know so like that's so cool you know to me that that that I'm some form of inspiration Jadour the only thing I'm going to disagree with you they had to let you play because everybody else was hurt yeah because you ain't had no choice they if they didn't let you play they brought they brought a guy in they brought in a snoop huntley yeah because flacko wasn't going to play and the other two couldn't play so but you did your thing oh yeah All you can control is what you could control. What you could control was how you played.
Starting point is 01:10:51 How you handle the, how you handle the situation that you've been placed in. Yeah. He did it. He did it very well. He did a hell of a job. And he handled it well. He said all the right things.
Starting point is 01:11:01 He did all the right things. And that's control what you can control. What you can control, don't worry about it. Control what you can control. He went through a storm. something he never if you'd have told him a year ago he would be in this situation where he's at right now he wouldn't have believed his dad wouldn't have believed it nobody would you or i didn't wouldn't have believed it no absolutely not based on but you're here man now it's forget how i got
Starting point is 01:11:36 here how you're going to get out of here yeah yeah because a lot of time you know we spend a lot time much bad how we got into the situation you're in the situation now how you're going to get out of it yeah and um and i think he's done a great job look you know i'm sure he talks to his dad even though his dad is not there he still talks to his dad daily dad gives him great advice he doesn't put any more on us that we can handle yeah absolutely not and sometimes the situation they put you in they're not having for you. It's not the best situation for you because you got people in the situation you win that don't even believe in you. And that's what I hurt worse. Most of the time, if you hear someone, oh, I'm a part of your organization and you say, well, hell, I ain't want you, though. Yeah. That's meant to break you. That's meant to break you. That's meant to break you. You can't break what you didn't build. You can't break what you can create. Come on. Come on, man. But everybody's not built like that mentally. You're right. True.
Starting point is 01:12:44 In this era, in this era of sensitivity and, oh, he said this about me. And no, everybody's not built for that. That's meant to break you. And if they break you mentally, it affects what you do in between the lines on the green grass. But that's either here, no there. He played well. The small sample size we got to see at Brother Sanders, 12 look good. He looked good.
Starting point is 01:13:12 You're right, Ojo. you're right everybody I mean I mean sometimes I mean sometimes when things are not going your way and you feeling down yeah man it's hard to stay positive mm-hmm and I think the thing the best thing for him is that he has a dad that's really positive yeah he sees the positivity and everything even when there's all negativity mm-hmm he'll find something positive he'll find something good to say Danos. As well, what he won't?
Starting point is 01:13:52 Mm-hmm. Make him bark, make him bark, huh? Make him bark. No, no, we don't want that. I try to deterrent from barking. And the thing is, I put Titus up, Titus to sleep. So I ain't got to worry about Titus coming here and him growling and going crazy. Hey, that's a good combination, boy.
Starting point is 01:14:19 And then I took the bones up because him and Teddy. Fighting over the bone. He wanted all the bones. He didn't want Teddy to have none. So he had three. I gave each one a bone. Right. So he had his and he bargained at Teddy's.
Starting point is 01:14:32 So once I gave him, once I gave him tennis, it was all good. So I just took all three of them because he had two at first. Right. Teddy just had one. But he wasn't satisfied with that. He wanted all three. I said, no, we're not going to do that. You got to take, we're going to take the bones up for tonight.
Starting point is 01:14:47 You got a little thug on your hands over there, man. You want to go stay with Ocho? Hey, yeah. Come on over here, Thanos. I'm going to take you down to the city, boy. They got a dog, they got a dog park downtown. He said, I can go to the dog park. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:06 He said, you know, I got, you know, I had a little minor procedure about a month ago. Wait, what happened? Yeah, sir. Ready? Yeah. What's wrong with him? We got him fixed up. Oh, why you?
Starting point is 01:15:19 Man. He said, I would look. He said, he heard about them child support payments. He said he didn't want none of that. No? Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Get out, they didn't have a little fun, man. Yo, no girl. He said, we ain't having no fun. But he did a little good. He looked good. He looked really good last night. He spoke really good after the game. and the thing now is to build,
Starting point is 01:15:46 excuse me, is to build on what he did last night. He also spoke about gifting teammates some new cleats. Check this out, Joe. Yeah, I'm just excited for all of them. I gifted a lot of receivers, the prime DT96s. You know, a couple of them had them on.
Starting point is 01:16:04 So I just, I just gift to a couple, like the main receivers going into this game. You know, I gifted them some cleats. Some warm, some didn't, but I was like, okay, this is just my little appreciation gift to them. Because they don't be having a lot in stock, so I couldn't do everybody. I wish I could. But, yeah, it's great. Hey, the ones he won the game were dope.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Yeah, those are the one he talked about. They had the orange lining, like for the brown color scheme color weight. Yeah, they was nice. They were nice. I think also as a receiver, but for me, I wouldn't want to cleat that heavy. No, the Deon cleats, I mean, they're heavy. Based on the way they're made, I want a light as sure as possible. So, I mean, they look good.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Time could have been out there in Thames and run four three. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. But it all depends. I was a, you know, I wore TD bottoms. Okay. So I wore wide receiver cleats at tight end. And tape your ankles.
Starting point is 01:17:11 So you was good. Yeah, because I'm a hard planner. Right. Me, even though I'm a hard planner, unk, it's funny. Reebok, obviously, was Reebok back then. Right. I had Reebok take all the lining out of my shoe. I don't want any support.
Starting point is 01:17:27 I want my shoe to be just like a track shoe. Just like a track shoe. I need to feel the floor. I need the feel the floor when I stop, when I go, when I try to cut and transition. I don't want anything restricting my ankles. when it's time for my lateral one in, in movements. So all I had was the shell, some shoelaces, and cleats at the bottom. That's it.
Starting point is 01:17:49 Yeah. That's it. But you always wore a molded bottom. You didn't, you didn't, you were on tempo, Bob. Yeah, you didn't, yeah, you didn't wear seven studs. No, I had to have a choice but to wear seven stars. When we played at Heinz Field, I think they let the field be messed up like that on purpose. Yeah, the bit is be soggy, huh?
Starting point is 01:18:07 Oh, my goodness. It's like, I don't know. I don't know. That was an advantage for them. Yeah, for sure. The advantage for them. But, yeah, that's the only time I wore seven studs is when we played at Hinesfield. There's a video that's been making his way around, courtesy of Bucky. It's him confronting Brown's reporter, Tony Grossey, for not having anything positive to say.
Starting point is 01:18:32 Ojo, let's take a look at this video. Yeah. Tony, I'd be hoping you got something positive to say about me. You only say negative to the problem. And I'm like, I didn't do nothing to you. I didn't see none positive to everything. Hey, that's dope, punk. I like it. I like it. Because most of the time, come on, Tony. What I do? What I do to you, Tony? You know what I'm sorry. Hey, that's dope, monk. I like it. I like it. Because most of the time, those interactions like that, that's not how they go when it comes to players.
Starting point is 01:19:13 Most of the time, when it comes to a beat reporter that's been established for that long as a Cleveland beat reporter, you know, when it comes to saying something negative, most of the time, the player challenges him in that manner because you've never said anything positive. And I can just imagine, I haven't read any of the article and I could just imagine if the rest of the world
Starting point is 01:19:33 has been somewhat negative towards the door, I could imagine what the person that's in-house that sees him every day rights. so the fact that they were able to do it with a smile with class with grace and understanding well god damn do you have anything nice to say because everything i've seen so far has been negative i did nothing to you but obviously the dude had the job to do you understand how to get the views you have to understand negativity negativity it would create traction click bait how can i get people to read what I'm right
Starting point is 01:20:07 where you talk negative about the biggest thing going on right now in Cleveland outside of LeBron James when he was there right now is Shador Sanders Roba Lattel Black Sports Online Grossey has been like this for 30 years Baker couldn't
Starting point is 01:20:23 couldn't handle it couldn't I guess he's saying Baker could not have handled it. Shoulder disarmed him in 60 second and changed this energy. That's a gift not all people have for negative people Mm-hmm. Hey, listen, they'll smile on your face. They're smiling your face, obviously, at that point and in that moment, with Chador, greeting him the way he did with class, with grace. But God damn, are you going to say anything? I'm just waiting on you to say something nice. Yeah. Something. So the guy has no, I mean, what can you say? Especially after that performance. Yeah. But what can you say?
Starting point is 01:21:04 And I know people are going to say, oh, it's the preseason, oh, it's a small sample size. Let's see what he does in the regular season. I mean, it's still. This is all we have to go off. So we're talking about what we saw in that specific case in that moment. I'm curious that what he wrote today, because I'm sure he has something to say today. I think it's different for a quarterback because, you know, the eyes are all on you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:29 But I really never had no problem. I was seven-run draft pick. wasn't supposed to be ish anyway. So anything that I gave, anything that I gave him 20 catches, that was good. Yeah. But as I got, you know, I never had a problem with Mark Kisler,
Starting point is 01:21:41 never had a problem with Woody Page. I never had a problem with, who else, Jim Armstrong. Yeah. He was a columnist when I was there. He was with the indie star. Now, I forget his name. Shefter and I got to Denver at the same time.
