Jane Daniels' attorney has informed LSU that it can no longer use his name, image, and likeness, and a cease and desist letter. The issue stems from LSU allowing

cornerback DJ Pickett to wear the number five. The same jersey number, Jane Daniels, war when he won the Heisman trophy at LSU. In a statement, the Daniel family is deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected by LSU's decision to give Jay's number to another player. Jane and his family had every reason to believe

the number would remain meaningful, part of LSU's legacy, and would be honored and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the university. Ocho? Yes. What's going on here? I mean, I kind of see it, Uncle Joe. My understanding, I'm thinking,

maybe how many players have won the Heisman trophy at LSU, if I'm not mistaken. Three, three players of one. Billy Cannon, the Galloping Ghost. Yes. Joe Burrow, 2019. And then Jane Daniels. Obviously, with those three, image, name, and likeness, it should be restored. Based on what he's done.

The great goes. Historically, you know, for that entity in general, you would think, you know, the number would be retired. But in a sense, I hope that everything gets resolved in a, what's the word I'm looking for? In a respectful manner, because I think at some point maybe they are going to retire it, but I'm not sure where they would allow someone to wear that five, huh? I'm not sure why they would allow someone to wear that five. It makes no sense to me.

And the person that is wearing it, I'm not sure what his name is, but now he has big shoes to feel, even one of the following the footsteps of what, of what Jane Daniels has already done. He said he was promised that number, Ocho. He said if they told him if he comes there, they would give him that number. So they use it as a ploy to get a player to come there. Hold on, hold on.

But didn't he play there last year, Uncle Ocho? Yep. He wore three though. Yep. But he said he wanted that number. And a new coach came in, but you got to realize. Hold on.

Brian Kelle. got he recruited it got him from Arizona State Brian Kelly gave him his word and I get and so when Lane Kempi came in he told guess he told Lane they promised me this number Lane like okay you can have a number but but as a player understanding the significance of the five and with the person that wore the five and went in the Heistman and what that means uh if if anything if I would if I'm Jane Daniels, I understand, I understand, but I would, I would rather the school respectfully want to honor in retirement my jersey instead of me having a sin of cease and desist.

And if I'm LSU, I mean, I mean, out of respect, you know, for the legend in what he did and what he accomplished during his short tenure there at LSU, I would have retired it. And I don't like the fact that people are comparing Joe Burrow and Jane Daniels and the stats. Ah, forget all that comparison stuff. He won a heistman. Joe Bro and a nattie. Joe, you got your high school number retired, right? Yeah, my high school number retired.

Me and my brother had our high school number retired. But because they didn't return, but it's number. And we don't have a high school anymore, so we ain't got to worry about nobody from Glitville, where in number three. But I got my college number retired, Savannah State. And they only retired it. I left Savannah State in 19.

My little played my last game in November of 1989. they end up retiring the number 20 years later, but nobody wore the number. Mackie, who's the equipment manager and Coach David's coach friend, he's like, ain't nobody wearing this. He said, can't nobody feel this jersey. And they never ordered a number two.

So at the time, the president's like, this number is officially retired. You can unretire it. And I told you, a guy hit me on social media You're talking about, man, you know, I want to wear the number too. I say, not in Savannah State, you don't. You can wear it somewhere else, but you ain't wear it to death. But me, somebody like, I wouldn't even think about going to Florida State wearing number two.

That's time number. Yeah. What I look like wearing that number? Right. Or if I, you go and some of these things, I wouldn't, I mean personally, that's just me. I want my own number. Yeah. I'm in the same way.

I'm saying. I think when people see that, when people see that five, that LSU jersey, they think Jane Daniels in general, you know. Because normally, you know what they normally do,

the number four is retired at Clemson, Steve Fuller. They went ask him because that's Deshaun, that's the number he wanted to wear. They ask him. Deshawn asked. The university asked, if I'm not mistaken. He said yes. Deshaun Ward, they put it back up.

When Peyton went to Denver, 18 was retired, Frank Chupukea. He asked the family, the family said we'd be honored for you to wear the number. Peyton Ward, put it back up. So that's, that's, that's normally, but the thing was, the number is not retired. It just hasn't been given out since Jaden had left. Right. And I guess Jain was under the assumption, no one was going to wear that number.

I guess that's what I don't know. I hadn't talked to J.D. And I hadn't talked to his mom, Ms. Jackson. So I don't know. But it seems like something got lost in communication, guys. Go ahead, Joe. When you think about it, these schools, they own these numbers, though. They just don't own the damn players.

And I think that's the misconception that's being taken from this. I think Jayton Daniels has had a hell of a college career. I don't like this move, though. I ain't think it was a smart PR move, bro. No, no, it may look back, yeah. It makes you look very petty and it's set up to where, because how we view sports nowadays, for everybody take shots at him now.

So now when season starts, his has got to come out and ball out because they're gonna be on him. Right. You know what I mean? You know what to Uncle Joe? What it? Young Bull, now I'm reading the chat.

Yeah, so I'm, I'm, listen, I don't watch much college football. Obviously, when it's time for us to watch it, I'll be tuning. Now you're wearing a five, you got my attention. Now I want to see you play. And the rest of the world, the rest of the world will be watching as well because of the uproar of you wearing the five. And, I mean, it is, I don't know what the real issue is, you know? I mean, some people say, hey, it's money.

I was very fortunate enough that Savannah State thought enough of me to retire the number two and thought that, hey, nobody else should wear that number based on the way I played and the way I conducted myself. His son. Hold on. In high school, Ocho, when I went to the Little Rock Central, they didn't have a number 24 at the time. I won't I won't wearing number 24 since I were yay high. So I was like, man, y'all got that two-fold. You know, I'm coming. You know what I mean?

So they only got the jersey actually made. And so for me, it's very sentimental to me, bro. Like when I go in that gym, when I go in a high school gym, I go back home, and I see that up there like, yeah, that's a proud moment for me, bro. But I think was, I think what's being misled about Jaden Daniels, he didn't, he didn't ask for his jersey to be retired. He just said you can't use his name, image and likeness.

Oh. Right. You know what I mean? I think that's the biggest misconception because everybody thinks that he's talking about, man, I want my jersey to retire. I'm sure he probably does. But he just said, man,

you think Joe man I think this kid okay oh Joe always says the right thing always and it's like They always try to get him to go viral by asking him rhetorical questions. But he never takes debate, though. We keep it 100. He's the only damn reason the Browns is relevant right now. For sure. If we're just keeping it 100. Absolutely.

I don't watch, I watch the Browns to see Shadouple. I'm just going to keep it 100. I don't watch them for no other. Everybody else watching for that reason, too. Yeah. Outside of Cleveland. Now, Cleveland watching because they're the Browns, but everybody outside of Cleveland

watching Big College of your door. Lamar had his jersey retired in 2021. So the number eight at Louisville is retired currently. Right. But go ahead, don't show. What you're thinking? I mean, it's the media, especially in Cleveland. They're looking for the next click.

That's it. They're looking for the next viral moment. It's the median job to get him to say anything and trip him up. They wanted to fail so bad. Not only did they want them to fail, they are looking to divide. They know it's a team game. They know it's a healthy competition.

Somebody has to start. Somebody has to be the backup. Correct. They're going to ask the right questions, the questions that makes him uncomfortable that he doesn't want to answer, and he's very media savvy. Obviously, his father has already had him

prepared for these moments, especially like this. He knows how to do it. And he probably hit a point where he got a little frustrated. And instead of answering anything before he said the wrong thing, you know what? Next question. I'm not even going to answer.

because they're trying to trip him up and get him to say something that they can hold on to and twist his words up. So listen, he's playing it the right way. I agree. I mean, what you want him to say? There's a competition. He wants to win. I want to win. Both of us can't win.

So whoever wins the job, the other has to be the backup and be supportive. Right. Okay. So how do you think you fair? I think I'm doing very well. Deshaun thinks he's doing very well. But that's neither one of our decision. At the end of the day, the coach is going to make the best decision for this team

for this organization and who he thinks is the starting quarterback. Well, did they promise you you're going to be the starter? They don't make promises in sports. Promises are like pie crust, thin and easily broken. You make a commitment. Once you commit to a player, until he does something to break that commitment, that's the guy that you roll with. Do you feel you're getting a fair shake?

Fair. That's where you get cotton candies ride the merry-go around. They judge animals. was at the fair. Hello. That's a good one. All I want is an opportunity to go out there every day. All I try to do is I come in here and I try to get better today than I was yesterday.

And I'll try to be better tomorrow than I was today. But I'm not worried about yesterday and tomorrow because those are the two days of the week that I can never do anything about. Yesterday and tomorrow. So today is what I'm focusing on. So after he answers that, after he answers that 15 times, those same questions, 15 times, 15 different ways, you come back and next way what? I want him to get frustrated

because I want him to say something that I could hold up against it. I don't know what you want him to say. Listen. What you want him to say? What's that? I deserve to be the starting quarterback. I'm playing better than Deshaun.

for maybe a potential trade. Or maybe the Browns are protecting Chador, and maybe he will start, you know, for the regular season. I just, Ocho, and you can disagree if you like. I just don't see a team out there that would trade for Deshaun at 46 million. out of point. Unless he just balls to the walls, but why would Cleveland give him up if he just, you know what I mean? I just don't know. I just don't know, I mean, asking him the same

question every day about the starting job at quarterback. I guess, hey, it's your door? I guess you'll see what, hey, I'm trying to get better today. I guess when week one rolls out there, whoever runs out there with the starting, with the first

unit, that's your starter. Until then, coach hasn't told me anything. I don't know what coach has told Deshaun. I just know what he's told me. Son, come out here, get better every day. And I like to think that I'm getting better every day. I like to think that I'm better than I was last year at this time. I'm light years ahead of where I were last year at this time.

According to Adam Schiff, the plan is to start Shadour in the second preseason game at home next Saturday against the bills. Guys, what do you think? Shoulder get a fair shot? You'll think he gets an opportunity? So how many?

The question is, how many snaps is, is Deshaun going to get in the first game? How many snaps does Shadur get in the first game? How many snaps does Shadour gets in the second game? How many snaps does Deshaun get in the second game? Well, based on what I've always said, I think Deshaun gets the first two series. Okay. I think Sean Watson gets the first two series.

Then Shadour comes in and plays a bulk of the game and Dilling Gabriel finishes off. Okay. That's the way I feel it will go. And maybe if they do it like they've been doing it in practice, where one person gets all the reps on a certain day with the ones, then if that's what they're doing, then the priest is in the game, the second priest in the game,

I'm assuming then Shadour will start and get, but that just doesn't make sense. To me, that doesn't make sense. So what if you start, what if Deshaun start the first game, maybe Shadour don't even play? but he starts the second game. You know what I mean? Hey, Joe, he's going to play.

It's a preseason. He got to play no matter what. He got to play. But listen, the fact that we're trying to guess and we're trying to figure out who's going to start. This is a result of not being able to make a call on who's going to be a starting quarterback. So at least everybody in limbo, it gives everyone, everyone something to talk about. It creates a conversation instead of naming your starting quarterback, which I think almost every single team has done. to this point.

The season starts in what? The season starts in what, a week, a week, a week, when two weeks? September, if I'm not mistaken, I think September 9th. But how many weeks we got, what, two weeks, right? Yeah. I mean, three, three. Damn, that meaning?

Yeah, because remember, you got to remember, Oh, Joe, they don't start till, uh, so the day is the third, okay, the day is the 14th now. So the 14th. So they got, yeah, they got three weeks before they play. Okay. Because remember now, you used to go a week, the fourth preseason game. That's right.

And then you play that Friday. So now they got three preseason games. So you got a five week, basically. Yeah. And then you start. Yeah, that's tough. I have no idea. I have no idea.

But like I said before, regards to who plays in the preseason, I just feel from a business perspective, with the person making the most money, the bulk of the money, making that much money, he would be your starter. If things don't go well, I think Shadur goes in and he would be the quarterback for the foreseeable future. I think the thing, now, the only thing that can... Because Shadour is like thinking, like, yeah, I remember y'all told me that Wednesday was going to be my day

to take the... It's supposed to be my date. Right. And then what happened? Y'all told me, and Shephti was reporting that, hey, the plan is for Shudor to get the lion's share of the reps and the second preseason game, a home game against the bills. I heard that somewhere before that it was supposed to be

I'm supposed to get the lion's year of the reps and it will happen so I can't control what the coach is going to go Oh Joe we could never control what the coach was going to do Our team is going to do They're going to do Joe they're going to do

Joe they're going to do My job is that when I get my opportunity to go in there I got to do what I know I can do It's hard I'm going to make it as tough on you it's possible right this decision is not gonna be easy that's all I can do it's you know what you know what's difficult it's like because it's like the brain

it learns patterns on can Ocho and whoever's in charge has learned how to destroy a person's spirit bro I'm just gonna keep it 100 the Browns have lost so much it seemed like they self-destructing bro man I ain't gonna lie to you from what I see because it seemed like they just trying to suck a life out of these young man. And when I watch him speak and how he talked, you've seen how he was kind of, you know, it almost seemed as if he didn't even want to be up there talking today because, you know,

I talked about the rhetorical question that they asked me. Like, man, I'm so sick of this. Like, I've been dealing with this for the past couple years. And I was like, come on, bro. Like, what else I got to do to show that, you know, I'm proving I'm ready to, you know, lead the Browns in the right direction. I know.

And for him, he's like, The only thing is, the quarterback of the competition is not the only thing that's going on with the Cleveland Browns. Although you guys are making it the only thing that you're interested in. Right. Well, it's the most exciting thing. It's the one thing that everybody, not just Cleveland fans, not just the Cleveland media, it's the one thing that's going to get everybody to listen, everybody to read. Let me ask you a question.

Can I ask you a question? Is the quarterback competition between Dylan Gabriel and Deshawn Watson? would it be this much interested in it? Nope. Absolutely not. No. That's all I'm saying. No.
