Starting point is 00:03:09 Deshaun Watson underwent a second surgery for a right Achilles rupture. The first surgery was on October 25th. The second was Thursday. So how did Watson rupture his Achilles a second time? According to a team statement earlier this week, Watson reported to the cross-country mortgage campus for an exit physical as a part of the Browns' season-ending process. He complained of discomfort after rolling the ankle in Miami.
Starting point is 00:03:38 MR results demonstrated a re-rupture of the Achilles. Allegedly, allegedly, there's a video was taken 62 days after surgery. Ocho, let's take a listen to it. Take a look at the video. Yeah. If you notice,
Starting point is 00:04:04 go ahead. Ocho, what normally happens, I've had a lot of, I don't know if you notice go ahead or show what normally happens i've had a lot of i don't know if you've had teammates that have uh ruptured their achilles they're normally in a boot for at least three months what makes this injury so difficult to repair to recover from is that when they put you in a boot the muscles start to atrophy. So now you know what happened. Now you've got weakness. So now you have to build that calf muscle. Now you have to build all those muscles up.
Starting point is 00:04:36 You can't do anything. It's not like an ACL, Ocho. They get your butt in there. The day after surgery, they got you bending that leg. They got you raising it, squeezing that quad muscle, trying to get it fired. They're putting steel on it to get that muscle fired
Starting point is 00:04:49 to keep that muscle from atrophy. Well, when you're in a boot, there ain't really anything that you can do. 62 days after surgery, Deshaun didn't have the boot on. This is why. And Ocho, remember we had a conversation? I'm like,
Starting point is 00:05:05 why is he reworking his contract when he got guaranteed money? Now we know why, don't we? Now we know why. Remember, I said, Ocho, he got guaranteed. Why would I rework my contract? Y'all can't do nothing? He's
Starting point is 00:05:22 going to miss all of 25. He missed a large part of 23. He missed damn near all of 24. He's going to miss all of 25. He missed a large part of 23. He missed damn near all of 24. He's going to miss all of 25. Hmm. I guess I don't wish injury on nobody. You already know how I feel about injuries in general. It's unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:05:40 I've been one who's stood high, you know, and hoping that we get Deshaun Watson of old. this is a setback, you know, for him. Uh, it's also a setback for the Browns. Uh, I'm, I'm curious to see what the Browns are going to do at that position. Um, knowing where they pick in the draft, if, if they're able to find someone to, to, to, to, to play the quarterback position? Will you bring a veteran in? Would it be maybe Kirk Cousins? Can Joe Flacco maybe come back? I'm not sure what they're going to do, but this is not good for them. It's not good for Deshaun.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And that's upsetting. It is, Ocho. And I never... Look, when this thing happened is Ocho and I never look when this thing happened Ocho I thought what was going on with Deshaun was more mental than physical it was what transpired and then
Starting point is 00:06:36 everybody kind of knew or thought they knew and what was true was that's not our job we're not here to try to try anything or say somebody innocent or guilty. But what we can say is that when people realize and say
Starting point is 00:06:52 damn, all of this, all of this and let's just say for the sake of argument, all of it's true. All of it's real. It's the fact that everybody knows. It's the same thing that happened with Tiger. I mean, think about it, Ocho. Now, this is a different situation.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Allegedly, nothing Tiger didn't. People said Deshaun did things against their will. But what I'm saying is that with Tiger, people like Tiger, you still playing golf? But it's the fact that they saw him in a different light.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Now, all of a sudden, he wasn't this wholesome this family married father of two are you a freak and it messed with him psychologically i mean he won one more major after that that happened in 2000 i would think 2009 chris well thanks Thanksgiving of 2009. And then he didn't win the major until what? What year did he win the, it was the Masters, was the last major that he won because he was stuck on 14 for a very, very long time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:00 You know where that comes from as well, obviously, right? Not only are you embarrassed publicly about everyone knowing what, how you conducted yourself away from the game of golf but if anything what you could have done is you could have stayed true to yourself stay true to yourself everybody knows now so why don't don't change because not only did it change you as a golfer you were winning majors and playing extremely well and at the at the height of your game when you were doing whatever it was you were doing outside of the golf course.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I think everybody found out, you might have just stuck to the script. You might have just stuck to the script. If you look at guys that have built big, big brands, what have they all been? Married. That's what we're selling.
Starting point is 00:08:47 He's the all-American guy. Wife, 2.5 kids, house, white picket fence. Go look at the guys that have the biggest brands. Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahoney. You look at that. Kobe, LeBron James. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Shaq was met. Go look at the guys that have built these huge brands and what do they all have? The only exception. What's the only exception? Ocho. Derek Jeter. Bro, I'm talking about people that's built a half a billion, billion dollar business. You're lone exception Ocho Derek Jeter bro I'm talking about people that's building half a billion billion dollars
Starting point is 00:09:27 you talking to Ocho I got that now don't do that so I think you know and maybe that's what you know maybe that's what he was looking at Ocho the problem is he got married and didn't have his pee pee under control
Starting point is 00:09:43 and then everybody knew it The problem is he got married and didn't have his pee-pee under control. And then everybody knew it. Ocho, you're about to be, I don't want everybody to know I'm a freak. Right, right. Freak man, freak man, yeah, that's me. I want y'all to know that. Yeah. People knew.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Now they look good. Because what well Ocho you walk to the course everybody looking at you I bet I bet Tiger I bet Tiger shook the covers last night
Starting point is 00:10:12 yeah and listen everybody everybody on that goddamn course just like him just everybody don't know about it
Starting point is 00:10:20 see mm-hmm you see a pretty girl at the golf course, I want to shoot for Tiger. I bet that's Tiger, people. You thinking? What you thinking, Ojo? You think that is? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:35 See? I just... I just... Ojo, we just got to keep it wet-fired with you. But hopefully Deshaun has a speedy recovery. And then he's never going to be the same quarterback again, don't you? Never.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Never. Now it's not really about playing. Bro, you in your 30s, you want to have a normal life. You don't want to be walking around like Shannon Sharp at 56. And you 35, 33, 34. Right. You want to have someone of a normal life. You want to be able to walk without a limp. Hell, you walk with a limp at 32
Starting point is 00:11:14 and hell, you think you'll be at 42, 52, 62. Hell, you're down in the wheelchair. So now it's about getting a level of health back where you can do stuff. I don't know if he, if he wants kids or he's going to have kids,
Starting point is 00:11:28 but you want to want to do something with the kids. Right. So Sean get well, Merrill. Like I said, I don't know if at this point in time, I'm not even thinking about playing football. I'm thinking about hitting,
Starting point is 00:11:48 tackling this rehab, take it as serious as I possibly can and try to heal up and get back. Cause 2025 is over. You're not coming back. You retoured in January. That's a 12 month injury. You're not coming back. You're not playing.
Starting point is 00:12:01 You're not playing football until 2026. So speedy recovery Ocho Pelican suspended Zion Williamson after he reportedly after he reported late to a team flight to Philly
Starting point is 00:12:21 Zion just returned to the court after a 27-game absence, and now he will miss Friday's game against the Sixers. Well, listen, didn't he just sit out after having a small hamstring injury? He missed 27 games, he came back,
Starting point is 00:12:38 he sat out again, and then he showed up late to the plane. The plane, okay, okay, okay, okay. Should I ask you a question, Ocho? Yes, sir. Do they spring these trips on you? Or you know when you... It's not like a surprise test.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Bro, they give you an itinerary. We leave it at X time. Right. This man don't care nothing about playing. Look here, guys. At some point in time, we've got to come to the conclusion. Ryan is interested
Starting point is 00:13:05 in playing basketball for New Orleans he might not even be interested in playing basketball how you miss that many games and the first time that you really have to travel and you're going to play
Starting point is 00:13:15 you show up late right no man that's not he don't care he don't care on Joe and for him to get suspended for him to get suspended, that means it wasn't his first time, really.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Or they're trying to send a very, very strong message. What would that message be? Bro, you bulljabbing. So we finna start taking $150,000, $200,000 from you.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Right. Well, you listen,200,000 from you. Right. Well, listen, now you got to be careful now. You got to be careful because now if you think he's bull driving, you know, and you start taking money from him, then you got to deal with the pushback. Oh, so that's what we're doing? All right. Well, you know what? I don't even want to be here no more. Well, that's very obvious.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Have you seen? I mean, what gave you, tell me what gave you the impression that he wanted to be there? Yeah, they come out and say that he didn't want to play there. I don't need you to tell me. You show me with your actions. See, I see better than I hear.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Here, yeah. I hear you telling me you want to be there, but I see every time I turn around, you to tell me. You show me with your actions. See, I see better than I hear. Here, yeah. I hear you telling me you want to be there. But I see every time I turn around, you're hurt. I see every time I turn around, I got to put a weight clause in your contract to make sure you don't overeat. You're not healthy. You're not taking a seat.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Bro, how you show up late when you know my job. We travel, Ocho. They done gave you itinerary. Right. We get itinerary. We get Friday. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:55 We leave it at such and such. Okay. We got practice. Boom, boom, boom. We got blog. Okay. We got practice tomorrow morning. We got meeting.
Starting point is 00:15:02 We got walkthrough. Playing leaves at 3 30 they didn't spring that on him right man i wonder what time the plane man i thought we leaving it bro man's all young bitch stop caring and all y'all but i but i but i i i followed a lot of the the people in the chat man let that let that man live. Man, he young. Young fat people become old fat people. And old fat people don't live long. You ever see an old fat person, don't you?
Starting point is 00:15:39 Uh-uh. Uh-uh. Nope. Yeah, he don gonna get it together. I don't know when. They said that when he was 19. They said that when he was 20. They said that when he was 20 with Halzai or not.
Starting point is 00:15:55 22 or 23. You know what I think he need, huh? You hear me? You know what I think he need? He need to change his scenery. No, he need to change his eating habit. Okay, y'all said that when he was 19. Oh, he gonna get it together.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Oh, man, let them stall him out. He said that when he was 20. Man, come on, man. You being hard on him, bro. At 21. Oh, damn. 22. Oh, let the man live.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Damn, he can't enjoy himself at 23. Now he 24, so what is it now? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what it may be. It's the same story, Ocho. Yeah, yeah, over and over. I mean, don't you want to have enough pride?
Starting point is 00:16:40 That's what hurt Ocho. You see the talent level. You see what he can be what he could be but it don't mean enough to him you know listen you know he was supposed to be next to the line as the face of the NBA huh coming out Ocho before you go any farther, Zion has reportedly been late for multiple practices, reported by Chris Hayes, a pattern of behavior that led to the organization. So not only is he overweight, he lazy.
Starting point is 00:17:13 He don't get to practice all the time. I told you, I told you it wasn't the first time. If they suspend you for missing a flight, they not suspend you, it's not your first time. That is an accumulation of things that happens over time where they get fed up. Now, when you get to this point, it's only a matter of time before they move on from you. You know? And there are many suitors.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Matter of fact, the Lakers are looking for another piece. Now, that piece can be Zion or that piece could be Jimmy Buckets. I'm not sure which way they want to go. I just... I know who would be a good mentor that'll get him on the right track. Well, he's going to show up late, but he get mad at DoorDash when they come late.
Starting point is 00:18:03 You shot out for that one. That's a good one one that's a good one that's a good one i mean come on come on come on man bro you're making 30 million dollars a year oh that is your job and you late for practice you late for the plane and you overweight hell i might as well go for the trifecta. I'm going to be overweight, late for practice, and I'm going to miss the plane. That's a damn shame.
Starting point is 00:18:35 One thing about it, you know, them NBA boys, they make what I call F-you money, you know? And I don't think they want to piss you off. But don't give it back. Yeah. Why would you give it back to him yeah hey one thing about it though on you know what you get when he healthy boy boy he's special i tell you you know what don't you everybody talking about oh i love michael jordan killer instinct i love the mama mentality well y'all need to ask how many times was michael and kobe late since y'all love
Starting point is 00:19:05 so much about oh y'all love that aspect but it's not that aspect that made them great it was the other thing that made them great yeah they did everything right though they had they had different they had a different type of discipline they had a different type of mentality their approach to the game was completely different they cut from a different cloth of mentality. Their approach to the game was completely different. They cut from a different cloth in general. You really can't compare them and their preparation and the way they approach the game and their craft to anybody else. They in a class of their own. All I'm saying, no joke.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Everybody, look, everybody doesn't have the same level of talent the one thing you can control is you your effort god gave you x amount of talent you can get a little better by do your work ethic and things that you do but you're only gonna be so good i can't make you be on time though joe right it's got to matter to you yeah i i can't i can't make you be on time, Mocho. Right. It's got to matter to you. Yeah. I can't, I can't. See, here is the problem that you run into. Anybody that's been injured.
Starting point is 00:20:13 You see, what happens is that you get, if you get injured during the season, guess what? You can't work out. Well, you can't work out and you still eat the exact same. Because if you can't control your eating when you play it and work it what makes you think you're going to be able to control
Starting point is 00:20:29 your eating when you're not running up and down that court 35 40 minutes a night that's how your problem he get hurt during the season and he might be at a comfortable way he don't even care he don't care I refuse to believe it man you don't know that man I know enough I know his weight I know he late
Starting point is 00:20:58 and if the reports are to be believed I know Chris Hayden very well he used to be on, uh, um, with us at Undisputed all the time. Yeah. You don't care. Yeah. Cause that's,
Starting point is 00:21:12 that's, that's not caring. Yeah. You gotta, you gotta get the, I wonder who we got. I wonder who we got running, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:20 You know? Yes, people. They tell him what he want to hear, not what he needs to know. Because if I tell you what you need to know not what he needs to know because if i tell you what you need to know oh joe guess what you're gonna stop the bus and ask me to get off man i don't want to get off this ride and i need some of that reflective shine because if i'm with you
Starting point is 00:21:34 if the spotlight on you and i'm with you lord that shine go hit on shade too right well hey yeah that my boy zion oh you you know zion well come come on over here then. You know what I'm saying? Don't joke. Yeah, I understand. I understand. He got the wrong people riding. Listen, he should just hang with me. Hang with me. I'll get him right. Bro, you eat McDonald's. That's
Starting point is 00:21:57 the last person he need to hang with. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You said McDonald's. You said hey, so you want him to eat McDonald's? No, I'm no, no. I know. You said McDonald's. You said, hey, so you want to eat McDonald's? No, I'm going to get him on my nutritional plan. McDonald's. No, no, a nutritional plan for him. No, that's not what you said.
Starting point is 00:22:14 You said hang with you. Everybody that's come on this show. Hey, eat McDonald's. That's what you said. Chat. But I'm saying I'm saying, but also I'm trying to keep him on the court he don't want to be
Starting point is 00:22:28 on the court he on the court it's in the mall it's called a food court he all over that now I don't know if it knew I haven't spent
Starting point is 00:22:40 a whole lot of time I spent a little bit of time in Newark I don't know if they got mall but I'm sure they probably got the they might not have the like they might have what do they call it like in Miami I haven't spent a whole lot of time. I spent a little bit of time in New Orleans. I don't know if they got mall, but I'm sure they probably got the, uh, they might not have the,
Starting point is 00:22:46 like they might have, what do they call it? Like in Miami, would it have the out, like an outdoor mall or something? Cause we don't like in Atlanta, we got indoor malls. Right. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:22:56 And they got a food court. Right. He probably, he on that one. Oh, he spent a lot of time. I guarantee he's been 40, 50 minutes a night on that court. Well, you know what? The time. I guarantee he spent 40, 50 minutes a night on that court.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Well, you know what? The fact that he's playing New Orleans and he has a problem with his weight and New Orleans is probably the best place when it comes to food. Probably one of the top places when it comes to food. Where the hell can you go? They don't have good food. Name a city that you can go when you make a, you got a contract for $150 million that you can't get good food. And if you got a contract for $150 million that you can't get good food.
Starting point is 00:23:27 And if you got a contract for $150 million, guess what else you can get? You can get hired down chef. Yeah. Well, maybe he has a chef and we don't know it, huh? Well, he need to fire him. Because if your chef got your ass 20, 30 pounds pounds overweight you need to get rid of him it just yeah it's so many resources and unlimited resources where you had that kind of money and you it just i i don't understand how how how it's an issue you know i. When a player don't care. When a player doesn't care, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Yeah. And Ocho, we've seen it. We've seen guys, they just didn't care. No matter what you said, bro, you could make you some money. Didn't matter. Yeah, man. Damn. That's unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Kind of sad, too, man. Young Bull is the real deal yeah like you said it'd be very interesting to see Made for This Mountain is a podcast that exists to empower listeners to rise above their struggles break free from the chains of trauma

Starting point is 00:26:13 we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra
Starting point is 00:27:39 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see. app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Starting point is 00:28:39 It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime. Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible.
Starting point is 00:29:07 I mean, from all indications, I mean, his mom and his father, the man that raised him, I guess it's his stepfather and his brother. I think he has a little brother or something. I guess that's his team. Not no problem with that,
Starting point is 00:29:20 but he wasted five years of his NBA career. Five. Just like that and i'm gonna give a little advice on joe as you get older it gets harder to get that weight off oh yeah now there are some people that have small frames and ain't no problem that ain't you he ain't got no. That ain't you. He ain't got no small frame. You know what's funny? When you think about it,
Starting point is 00:29:49 he struggles with weight. He struggles with his weight at such a young age. So if you struggle with your weight and try to keep it down at such a young age, you know what happens is you get older.
Starting point is 00:29:57 It get harder to get that thing up off of you. Yes. As you get older, to get it up off of you, I mean, you got to work
Starting point is 00:30:02 two times as hard as opposed to young. He might, I don't know, is Ozempic against us? as you get older to get it up off of you I mean you got to work two times as hard as opposed to young he might hey I don't know is ozempic against ozempic against the thing trixepatide
Starting point is 00:30:11 semaglutide but the problem with that stuff is that it it wastes your muscles away that's why I can tell I can tell everybody that take that stuff
Starting point is 00:30:20 look at their muscle it's just flabby because it eats your muscle you ever seen people that's been stranded like people you hear people they got stranded in the river they got stranded on the island look at their body they got no muscle definition that's what it does yeah it curves your appetite but the muscle just wastes away that's why i look at people oh yeah you're you're on that road, man. They on it.
Starting point is 00:30:49 I just don't get it, bro. I just hate to see guys. I just hate to see us be in a situation where we could just have so much. Right. And it doesn't mean enough to him to just go get it. But it is what it is. Jimmy Butler throws shade at Pat Riley. Jimmy posted a video on IG story talking to his employee saying, see,
Starting point is 00:31:08 I gave you a compliment. That's what bosses do. They build you up. They don't break you down. Yeah, Jimmy, Jimmy going through it. Jimmy went out of there, boy. And this is something you've never seen, never seen from any player that's played for the Heat.
Starting point is 00:31:26 You've never seen this before. You already know Pat is old school. Pat Riley is old school. But I've seen it from Jimmy before. Yeah, yeah. We've seen it. I mean, with the Bulls. So is it Pat or Jimmy?
Starting point is 00:31:36 Yeah, he had an issue with not Minnesota. It wasn't not Minnesota. He had an issue with Minnesota. It wasn't Minnesota. He had an issue with the Bulls. Yeah. Where else was it? He was in Philly. In Philly? Yeah. They had an issue with Minnesota. He had an issue with the Bulls. Yeah. Where else was it? He was in Philly.
Starting point is 00:31:46 In Philly? Yeah. They had an issue with him. They thought he was too abrasive. See, I'll give you the first one, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:31:54 The first situation, I'm going to give you that. Right. You know what, Ocho? First marriage, ending the divorce, you know what,
Starting point is 00:32:02 hey, we just couldn't see eye to eye. You know, she thought I was going left when I was going right, so forth and so on. Okay, you get divorced the second time. Damn.
Starting point is 00:32:14 Now you, okay, you're in a situation where, hey, maybe, hey, we both wanted to part ways. Okay. Right. Now here it is,
Starting point is 00:32:22 you're about to dissolve a third marriage now the common denominator in these marriages is you yeah that first time i might have believed it was her right well we know what the issue is now in this situation in this case obviously we know jimmy wants his money now in other words if i gave him a two-year extension for 121 million dollars he's finding joy again huh yeah so it ain't your oh okay i'm just making sure i'm just making sure you would own the same place don't make no yeah you know you know listen money money make you happy now yeah i'll be full grad are you happy right now hell no i was a brother
Starting point is 00:33:01 now that you mentioned you brought it back up. I'm even more, you know what? I'm even more ticked off that you know you owe me and they broke brand with me. You know what? No, I'm just trying to use another example. I'm about to make an example out of you. I'm about to use you as an example. Since you like examples.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Hey, are you happy I owe you $4,000? Don't use me as an example. Use me as an example as the guy that you paid. That's the kind of example I want. I've been trying to pay the last two shows, but you don't want to download the apps. Why do I got to break what I normally do?
Starting point is 00:33:47 I don't have no cash app on choke. I don't have email. I don't know how to. I can't get no games. I can't even play no games. Listen, you have to evolve with the times. You have a team of people. I evolved.
Starting point is 00:34:00 You didn't evolve. How do you evolve? I can't even see you a simple transaction. I see the $4,000. That's what I pay somebody to do all the stuff that i can't do okay well let me let me send the four thousand dollars to the people who pay who you pay to do the stuff what do you do that at oh i owe the bank oh bank let me see your money to somebody else well well obviously obviously if you don't if you don't have obviously, if you don't have a route number, you don't have a route number,

That's what I'm trying to explain to you. But you making things difficult. How am I making things difficult? You owe me.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Huh? I didn't even want to bet you. And I let you off easy. You said OBJ was going to get a thousand yards. Okay, I owe you 5,000 then. Ain't no problem. You just You said OBJ was going to get a thousand yards. Okay, I owe you five thousand there. Ain't no problem. You just thought I owe you five thousand. When you going to pay it?
Starting point is 00:36:34 When you download one of the apps. I don't know. Even if I download it, I wouldn't know how to get it. Ash explained it to you. No, Ash explained. You have a team of people that can explain it to you and I can see the money. At this point, you just don't want the money. I want it.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I mean, if you just download the ad. No. I'm trying to be respectful. I'm trying to be respectful. I don't want to get an attitude because I owe you, but you about to make me mad. Oh, you about to get an attitude about my money. What kind of boy got this? He about to get an attitude about my money. What kind of boy got me thinking? This man talking about he about to get an attitude about my money.

This man say, oh, you about to make me get an attitude. Listen, I don't want to jump on my elders. That's bad saying bad. Oh, you might make me get a attitude. But I'm going to make you turn me loose. All right. That's bad. He got an attitude. Hey, man. Listen, I'm trying to make life easy for you.

Starting point is 00:39:06 the man tell me he going to post-date my check. He already late, but now he going to post-date it. Hey, you know how black folk is. Now I'm going to let you know, now I'm going to let you know when to put it in the bank. Yeah, that money ain't going to be there

The money ain't going to be there until Friday at noon. Now if put it in there before the date I tell you to put it in there. Ain't gonna be no money there. Now that's on you. Starting point is 00:39:29 to the bank at Friday at nine, okay, they gonna pull your ass in the back. So I'm just telling you, Friday at noon, cash the check.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Nine, 10, 11, 59, but you take your ass to the bank and try to cash your check now. This man said he gonna post date
Starting point is 00:39:49 my check and he already late yeah just to make sure just to make sure why don't you add interest since you post dating what you want me to do 5200 thank you that ain't nothing.
Starting point is 00:40:06 No big ball. Oh, you a big baller. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, you got a hundred ball, huh? Yeah, 2024 and 2025 has been phenomenal for me. You hear me? God has favor.
Starting point is 00:40:20 My cup runneth over. Your skull gonna runneth over if you don't give me my money. That's the next thing that's gonna be running over. That man's got my head. That man's got my head. God, his cup. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:39 Oh, man. All right. Lupe Biasco becomes the first rapper to be a university professor, teaching rap to students pursuing bachelor's degree in hip hop music at John Hopkins. Ocho, which college class would you teach? I mean, if there was a course,
Starting point is 00:40:59 if there was a course that I could teach on something that I love, something that I'm passionate about being that lupe fiasco is a um he's a rapper so he's he's very world-versed in that area for me it would probably have to be um uh marine biology marine biology yeah marine biology would would have to be something that i would do it's something that i have a passion about if it's not marine biology it'd probably have to be um oh do you know the difference between the mullocks and the crustacean well i'm wait hold on when we talk about marine biology it would be on in specifics on what i have interest in so now this man talking about the marine biology.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I just asked you a simple question. What? Do I know the difference between what? A mullet and a crustacean. Yeah, crustacean is a restaurant in LA. Yeah, I'll pay
Starting point is 00:41:57 marine biology your calling. We're about to get some football. What about rock running? No, no, no, no, no no marine biology now then that there's specifics when it comes to when you talk about marine biology under the umbrella of of it of it in its totality now when it comes to killer whales and dolphins that's my expertise you just can't talk about marine but you just can't talk about Marines, but you just can't talk about killer, killer whales and dolphins.
Starting point is 00:42:26 That's my specialty. You do realize in order to have a specialty, let's just say for the sake of argument, you want to be a orthopedic. You do realize you just can't say, you know what, I'm gonna be an orthopedic. You got to do you got to go to four years of med school. Then you got to do a residency and then you got to do another two to four years of med school. Then you got to do a residency. And then you got to do another two to four years of a specialty. So you just don't get to do the specialty without having the six years of the training. Right. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:42:52 So I do have the training. I have the training. Listen, I have 50, 70 years of experience of training. So, I mean, you know, it's something that i could do oh man what would you do if you was a professor and had opportunity to history history history yes what kind of history there's different types of history now what kind of history we talk about world history what we can do we can do black american history we can do uh we can do black American history we can do civil war we can do
Starting point is 00:43:27 civil war yeah it all depends on what type of history you want to talk about I do have a minor in history I do I did win Jeopardy you know I won Jeopardy
Starting point is 00:43:44 I beat you every night yeah I mean but you're briefed on those questions there's a difference like I'm not briefed on any of the things that I'm going to be spelling so I mean it's a little bit more difficult for me hey look
Starting point is 00:44:03 I never said spelling was my strong suit. History is my strong suit. My ability to recall dates and events, I think it's pretty good. Okay, well, listen, I just have a question for you. Since history is calling, what year was it that the Roman Empire fell? Oh, Lord have mercy.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Oh, what year did the Roman empire? Do you know? Oh yeah, I know. Oh, I definitely know. And it,
Starting point is 00:44:38 in fact, I have a backup question to that. Maybe, you know, this one, there's a young wars have been started all over the world. Yes. War with the all over the world. Yes. War with the Romans and the Greeks
Starting point is 00:44:49 started over what woman? What is the woman's name? What woman? The Trojan War. Yes. And still to this day, wars are started over women
Starting point is 00:45:08 Cleopatra that's wrong it was Helen of Troy now I don't think history is your strong suit oh history is my strong suit nah
Starting point is 00:45:17 oh sure I beat you every night nah you beat you beat me in stuff you're briefed on and already know the answer to no I know the answer to because I've read over the years and recall no no i just asked you i just went on jeopardy and won who went on jeopardy and won
Starting point is 00:45:44 we talk listen if i'm a student in your class either the type of questions i'm going to ask Ocho, who went on Jeopardy and won? Who went on Jeopardy and won? Listen, if I'm a student in your class, you just have a question I'm going to ask you as my history teacher, hoping you have the answer to. Okay, how about this? In the movie Glory, in the movie Glory, what war did they fight that ended the movie?
Starting point is 00:46:05 Ocho, you do realize, Ocho, you do realize Ocho, you do realize like, so you'd like doing like a lot of Greek mythology and stuff like that. Ocho, you said marine biology. You said okay, that's my specialty. All I'm saying is in order to get to a specialty, you've got to do six years, six to eight years before you train for the specialty.
Starting point is 00:46:21 You understand I was in school for years since I was in kindergarten. I had more than six days. No, that doesn't count. That doesn't count. It counts. That man say that count. All those years I spent in school,
Starting point is 00:46:39 all that counts. No, trust me. That don't count, Ocho. That's a different level. My daughter's still in med school. I'm wondering what she getting out. She seems like she been in med school. She been in med school for about eight years though.
Starting point is 00:46:54 For real though. No, no, no bull jive. Oh man. And she finally, and she finally got, she's going to graduate in June and having to go have to relocate again. That man said, that man said, that man said he's been in school. So Ochoa want to teach marine biology. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Yeah. I don't really know. People need to start getting away from majors that ain't making no money. What you going to do with that? Work at a... Wait, that's not the problem. Now, the problem is not the majors, right? So you can have a major
Starting point is 00:47:34 in whatever it may be, communications, business. The issue is finding a job that pays... Well, you already know. That's the hard part. All you got to do is go say, okay, occupation. Top 50 occupations. Top 20 occupations.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Top 10. That's not the problem. The problem is actually getting a job based on the degree that you have. It's hard to get the damn job. Well, most of the time, Ocho, people don't actually work in the field that they got a degree in.
Starting point is 00:48:06 Because I get a degree, Ocho, and I'm looking for that field, but in the meantime, I got to take a job because I got to pay the bills. Now, after I've been here for five or six years, damn, trying to get a job in my field, I've already settled in. I got seven years towards
Starting point is 00:48:21 retirement, as opposed to starting over and trying to get seven more years. So I've worked 14 years and hell, I still got. I mean, now they're talking about they try to probably look like they might raise the age of Medicare. When you can retire, retire at age, what, 65? They talk about go to 70, 72. Who the hell want to work that long and just die once you're done?
Starting point is 00:48:50 Nah. Hell nah. No. Made for This Mountain is a podcast that exists to empower listeners to rise above their struggles, break free from the chains of trauma, and silence the negative voices that have kept them small. Through raw conversations, real stories,

All right, Ocho, time for our last segment of the evening. It's time for Q&A. Oh, man, that was good. Nick Marks said, Ocho was quick to pay that ref, but holding out on Unk. He was. Off of the money, off holding out on Unk. He was. Off of the money, off of the ref, money on the spot.
Starting point is 00:53:51 That's because I had the money in my sock. Okay. Come on, man. Can't wait for Nolan's show to see Ocho come off the money live. Ocho, you need a ride from the airport. I live 10 minutes away. I got you. And McDonald's on me.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Love y'all. Yeah, yeah. Pick me up as long as you don't have me late. Last time I got a ride, I was late. J-Dub from Akron. Ocho, the jersey you owe me is an unks of $5,200 collected interest.
Starting point is 00:54:17 Nat Cal must be paying his light bill since he don't pay his debt. Also, will you be upset this weekend? Steelers over the Ravens, your Broncos over the Bills. Ocho gonna be mad. Ocho mad anyway. He might not even watch the game. What you watching the games for? I'm gonna watch the game. I'm gonna have my glasses. Why? You ain't got
Starting point is 00:54:35 no team player. I'm on bifocals. You ain't got no team player. Because after the game, I can't wait till we get on the show because I don't want to hear you say foot or ball. I don't want to hear you say play or off. As a matter of fact, I don't want to hear you say offset. I don't want to hear you say offside.
Starting point is 00:54:54 I don't want to hear you say off-brand. Hey, boy, you better hope y'all have a miracle. Because, boy, it's going to be a... It's going to be a home. That's be on. It's going to be on. That's so unnecessary. It's going to be on. I've been trying to figure out why you want to watch the game. I'm going to watch. Don't worry about it. I'm going to watch
Starting point is 00:55:14 it with all my Bengals fans. What? What are they watching? Y'all lose? I got two teams. Neither one of your teams in the playoffs. Neither all three of your teams out of the playoffs damn you know how bad you gotta be to go over who the third who my third team dolphins who my second team patriots i don't have nothing to do with the patient you got everything to do with him your name is in the record book. Starting point is 00:55:46 Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was me. That was me. Yeah, that was you. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And the show right now, we're trying to see where some technical difficulties. Sunday's show might be canceled. What happened? Ain't no telling. What? What happened? Ain't no telling. Hey, that man said you owe him a jersey, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Get a man a jersey, man. Hey, matter of fact, I got some jersey right at the house, too. He's supposed to get ass and information. You got some money right in your bank account. I ain't got it. He ain't got his jersey. He's supposed to send ass and information.'t got it. He ain't got it in Jersey. He was supposed to send
Starting point is 00:56:25 ass information to you. Ass sent it. No, he was supposed to send it to you-know-who. No. She sent it to you-know-who, Ocho. No, she do all the mailing and stuff. No. She said she ain't working for you right now.
Starting point is 00:56:44 She is. Oh, Joe, Brandon said Quinn yours is Quinn sewers. He's ranked number 65 against cover to what do you what do you expect with him? I expect the better than what I got. Man. Yeah. With that kind of talent, with a defense like that. Ocho, you do realize he originally committed to Ohio State.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Ohio State, yeah. I heard the announcer say it earlier in the game, yeah. It seemed like a lot of great quarterbacks that went to Ohio State and left and did pretty well for themselves. No, only one, Joe. Patterson Yazzie said,
Starting point is 00:57:39 Uncle Nocho, apparently Texas teams playing in the AT&T stadium are allergic to winning big playoff games. Quinn, you was turned into Quinn Prescott. I'm not having fun anymore. Being Dallas or Texas fan. Everybody can win in Dallas. Except teams that play that play from Texas.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Damn. They had a chance now. Yeah. They definitely had a chance. Damn. had a chance now. Yeah. They definitely had a chance. Mm-mm-mm-mm. Damn. Supreme C said, yours is not that guy.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Texas lost three times this season the same way. They did. Mm-hmm. They did. Like I said, I didn't see what the evaluators saw early on. Right. You know, hey, you sometimes don't show you got to get grades. These are young kids.
Starting point is 00:58:35 They're in college. And, you know, they have other things to do. They got study hall. You know, they got school. This is not a full-time job for them. Although some colleges, you think it's a full-time job you go to ohio state of alabama texas georgia i'm sure they get their money's worth out of you but you have to give that grace but bro the mistakes that he makes in the throws bro some of that stuff is just routine i ain't saying you're gonna be perfect all
Starting point is 00:59:02 the time but i just saw a lot of stuff that he misses. I'm like, what? Dogbro said, which ESPN colleague are you rocking with in the championship game since their sons will be face-off against each other? Ryan Clark or Kurt Herbstreit? I ain't really not been a Notre Dame fan I ain't been an Ohio State fan I'm trying to think do I got any
Starting point is 00:59:30 the only hell the only who Tony Rice was my I think Tony Rice was my quarterback in the East West Shrine game check and see if he was my quarterback Tony Rice Tony Rice yeah see if he was my quarterback.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Tony Rice? Tony Rice. Yeah, I think he was my quarterback at the Eastway Shrine game. And then I played Ned Bocar, I think, was on my team too. He was a linebacker. Was Tony Rice my quarterback?
Starting point is 01:00:04 Yeah. was Tony Wright my quarterback oh oh well man Ohio State is a nine point a nine and a half point favorite already. They got their work. I mean, Notre Dame got their work. I don't know if Notre Dame could score enough points, Ojo. Right. They got to keep it. They got to keep,
Starting point is 01:00:33 they got to make this a, they got to make this a 17-14 type of game. Got to keep it low scoring and they can't do that simply because the defense is that good. I agree. I agree. I was in the East.
Starting point is 01:00:49 So what'd it say? Who was the quarterback? Yeah. Where did Mike Buck grow? Montana? Because I know Deetree was the other team's quarterback, the West All-Stars, John Freeze from Idaho. I don't know who Troy Taylor is.
Starting point is 01:01:14 I have no idea who Troy Taylor is. Maine? I know he went to one of them schools. Sean DeVeet. What about the All-American newcomer redshirt for Baylor, Bryson Washington? I don't know him. Me neither. Sean, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:37 I don't know him. Is he related to you or something? Is that your son? Your nephew? I'm sorry. Huh? Jonathan Shelton said, I like to say the game,
Starting point is 01:01:53 your Broncos beat the Bengals in 0-2. Ocho had six for 95, and you had one for 23. Put some respect on his name. Second, can you reflect on the game in 0-2 when Dante Hall had that iconic juke against the Broncos. Yeah, I remember that. Man, I think I had a big game to end up calling it back.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I think I might have had a touchdown against the Bengals and called it back. Nah, nah, nah. I know I called a bunch of touchdowns against you. Not me specifically because I wasn't playing defense. Your team, the Bengals. That's because I didn't play defense. Your team, the Bengals. That's because I didn't play defense. All I know is I beat the Bengals more than they beat me.
Starting point is 01:02:33 And I beat them when you was on the team. Were you on the team in 02? Yeah, I was there. Okay. So you had, so you had a six for 95 and one touchdown. That's me.
Starting point is 01:02:43 It'll lose an effort. That was me. It'll lose an effort. There's nothing in one touchdown. That's me. In a losing effort. That was me. In a losing effort. There's nothing I can do. That's what you could do. You could have had 10 catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns. They only threw me what I had. Everything they threw me, I caught.
Starting point is 01:02:58 You caught that L, too, because we threw that, too. Got it. Oh, yeah. I was on the sidelines when Dante Hall did that move. Got it. Yeah. Oh yeah. I was on the sidelines of when Dante Hall did that move. That was live. That was live.
Starting point is 01:03:10 The human joystick. Bro, he had some boy. Hey, that joke was there with shake, yo. Ooh,
Starting point is 01:03:17 wee. Ocho, he could do it, man. Yeah, he was nice. That little rascal, man.
Starting point is 01:03:22 He was nice. I still don't know how he got out of that. I still don't know how. He got out of it a few times. Yes. Star had guys running into
Starting point is 01:03:37 each other, had a couple guys missing twice. After I missed you one time, I'm going to stay on the ground. You ain't ready to make me look bad twice Lanny Ray said hey guys thanks in advance for helping me achieve my New Year's resolution of finally seeing a live nightcap show see y'all in NOLA
Starting point is 01:03:56 Lanny look forward to it come up introduce yourself I'm sure we've had a few people that in Atlanta and Houston and Dallas, what you call them, came to both shows. Dr. Frankie, she was in Vegas and she came to Atlanta. So, Doc, we counting on you.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Oh, yeah. Live 91, I for sure Googled the NFL minimum and it was $7.95. Ocho said he make 10 times that. He got that money on top of three McDonald's franchises. I know he got it. I know he got it, but he want a hard time me. Oh, get it. Hey, I want you to get what I want you to.
Starting point is 01:04:36 No, bro. No, no, no, no, no, no. Everybody in the chat told me what you need to do. You want to make things difficult. Like, and you know, I'm trying to keep calm. I'm trying to be nice. You know, I've done all I can.
Starting point is 01:04:49 At this point, you know, you know, you're my co-host and I don't want to say, you know, you know, get it in blood because I don't think things need to go that far.
Starting point is 01:04:58 They don't need to go that far. You feel me? Yeah, I know. I don't think that's far enough. That'd be personally if you asking me which I think you are
Starting point is 01:05:14 why I gotta do all that I gotta download this I gotta reapply for that it take two seconds it take two seconds you download the app you download the app apply for that? It take two seconds. I ain't got that kind of time. I'm busy. You download the app. You download the app.
Starting point is 01:05:29 You put your card information and I send you the money. What kind of card information? Your credit card information. Oh, hell nah. So now you got... What you mean? I don't put no credit card
Starting point is 01:05:40 information down on nothing. What are you talking about? House? Huh? Well, you living in the cave man days. That's okay. I'm card information down on nothing. What are you talking about? House? Huh? Well, you living in the cave, man. That's okay. I'm going to keep on living. But I bet you ain't nobody
Starting point is 01:05:52 running no bills on my credit card. I bet that. Ain't nobody running no money either. I know. I ain't running no money on yours either because of my money in your pocket. I'm trying to send you your money. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Starting point is 01:07:30 Come on, man. Don't do that to me now. Yeah. Ocho just about to get out of the doghouse. Let's let him get on out of the doghouse after a couple of months
Starting point is 01:07:38 and we'll revisit this, Aaron. Man, who asked that question, man? Read the room, man. Read the room man read the room magic follies i don't even go to i don't even go to strip clubs i go to tootsies i go to tootsies between seven and nine o'clock. Oh, really? Starting point is 01:08:12 Saloon. I think that's closed down. They had Shotgun Willies and they had Diamond Cabaret. But I haven't been to a whole lot of them. Like, I ain't really trying to go to no strip club when I go out of town, no joke. Listen, I'm going for the food. And I don't frequent strip clubs. I bet you are going for the food.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Mm-hmm. Huh? Them legs and thighs, huh? No, no, no, no, no. No. Nah. No. I ain't going. Like, when I go out of town, I mean, I'm not going. That ain't the place I want to be. And I ain't

Starting point is 01:09:29 supposed to be going to magic two years ago what happened you canceled me it stopped me though
Starting point is 01:09:37 Dominic Bray is a young young Panther journalist and I wanted to hear from this from the players what can I do better to understand the game
Starting point is 01:09:46 what is the worst thing I can do watch and then ask the players what you saw yeah ask the coach what you saw if there's a situation where you think he maybe should have challenged or there's a situation where you think he maybe should have challenged
Starting point is 01:10:07 or there's a situation he should have called a timeout, you just ask what you see. You don't have to get, you know, coverages or try to, like, pretend like you know coverages and things like that and formations and set. Just ask what you saw. On this play, I noticed blah, blah, blah. And just ask. And the players will give you an honest assessment. Now, the problem, the coach is going to say this play, I noticed blah, blah, blah. And just ask. And the players will give you an honest assessment.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Now, the problem, the coach is going to say, well, I haven't seen the tape. I'm going to have to go back and watch it to give you a better understanding. But let me get back to you on that. The players will probably say, well, look, we were trying to do this. And we didn't really communicate it, so forth and so on. But you need to watch the game and then ask the players about what you saw. And for the most part, they'll give you an honest answer.
