Starting point is 00:04:37 I'm going ketchup damn yeah I'm going ketchup boo boo boo man I'm going ketchup boo boo boo man I'm stuck hell I got no chance I guess I gotta go
Starting point is 00:05:00 with mustard oh shoot you tripping boy hot sauce I'm going mayo i hate mayo okay you hate mayo i'm gonna go chimichurri chimichurri yeah uh i'm gonna go i go i'm gonna go relish i am going barbecue sauce you done done lost already. Oh, yeah. Hey, listen. First of all, what you got ketchup in? I don't care what you put out the back. You done lost.
Starting point is 00:05:30 You done lost. Oh. I guess I'll take ranch dressing. Soy sauce. Cheese. Cheese. Could I take cheese? Is cheese a... You know what? I would take...
Starting point is 00:05:57 What they put on... Hey, I need some help, guys. I need some help with... What they put on... Tacos or something. Yeah. Queso. I guess I'll take queso. Queso?
Starting point is 00:06:09 All right, give me teriyaki sauce. Is queso and picante the same thing? Okay, I'll take picante. That's it it Ocho okay but yeah you done you done yeah man you got ketchup hot sauce chimichurri barbecue sauce soy sauce and teriyaki
Starting point is 00:06:38 well you got a lot boy you got a lot of sugar I don't know Ocho hope everybody got you know help is on the up and up they gonna be alright Boy, you got a lot of sugar. I don't know, Ocho. Hope everybody got help. It's on the up and up. They're going to be all right. They're going to be all right. They're going to be all right.
Starting point is 00:06:53 I got mustard, mayo, relish, ranch, queso, picante. Hell, if you didn't know, you'd swear I was Mexican. But I did. Man. Hey, hey, Ash, hey, this
Starting point is 00:07:09 is right up Ash Allen. What? Because she going to order everything with mayo. She going to get a ranch. Oh, yeah. I'm surprised ranch wasn't on there. No, I got ranch. Oh, you did? Yes. Okay, okay, okay. I was going to say, but people put ranch wasn't on there. No, I got ranch. Oh, you did? Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Okay, okay, okay. I was going to say, but people put ranch in every goddamn thing. Yeah. Hey. Yeah, I guess we could have got the Chick-fil-A sauce.
Starting point is 00:07:34 We could have got Raisin Cane sauce. Big Mac sauce. Yeah, yep. Yes, sriracha. Ocho. Wow. Sriracha. Sriracha. yeah yeah yes sir racha ocho wow that's a nice shot lonzo ball recently admitted that the big baller brand sneakers he wore his rookie season could have contributed to the left knee issues that sidelined him for 1009 days ball told espn that the first version of the big baller brand sneakers were comparable to kickball shoes lonzo suffered his first meniscus injury in january of 2018
Starting point is 00:08:16 and he could not help but wonder if triple b's played a part i think it's a possibility for sure to be honest with you i wasn't really getting hurt like that until I started wearing them. Nah. Uh-uh. I'm not buying that. I'm not buying that the structure and the design of a shoe is the reason why you have injuries. When it comes to all shoes, they're all designed and structured in the same way to be able to do the same thing, especially when it comes to all shoes they're all designed and structured in the same way to be able to do the same thing especially when it comes to playing the game of basketball i'm not putting that on those shoes absolutely not well some people well some people oh joe you have you have you got some people that are flat-footed you got some people that have high arches you have some people that have narrow foot feet they have some people that have wide feet and just because everybody everybody
Starting point is 00:09:04 is not going to get the same benefit out of wearing a nike as they would because maybe nike fits differently maybe adidas fit differently puma sketches whatever the case may be this is your brand though your brand so obviously the shoe that you wear specialized for you is going to put it's going to be be um what's the word i'm looking for it's going to be fit for your word I'm looking for? It's going to be fit for your foot. Ocho, do you think they had the kind of money to do R&D? Research and development?
Starting point is 00:09:32 To structure a shoe straight? Oh, have mercy, Ocho. Do you know how much these companies put into R&D? Do you have any idea? Yeah, because I used to have a shoe. Do you understand? So you think a shoe a guy said you know what i got a son going to the nba i think i'm gonna come out with a shoe so how much money 50 million 100 million 500 million how much money
Starting point is 00:09:57 you think they put invested into that shoe i mean oh that's you know that's a good question i'm not sure no no no. Speculate. Give me an example. R&D, research and development. We're going to design a shoe. We're going to cast a mold. We're going to fit it. You do realize how long it takes because the Air Max, you think the Air Max just, okay, you know what?
Starting point is 00:10:20 I like the Air Max. Let's do the Air Max. Which one? 95? 95? 95. You take the Air Max 1s. You can take the 95 max ones you can take the 95 you can take the 97 you take any shoe that you want right it takes time for a shoe to come from a vision to being able to put on somebody's feet and somebody wear it right yeah i understand what you mean but just
Starting point is 00:10:40 they're just the thought even even if there was no, what do you call it, R&D? Yeah, research and development. Yeah, we need to put out the research and development to say, oh, well, the reason for my knee injury is because of the shoe I was wearing. Like, come on. He said it could be a possibility, Ocho. And it could. No, man, hell no, man.
Starting point is 00:10:59 No, no, let's not blame the shoe. No. What you going to blame it on, Ocho? I mean, there are a lot of gonna blame it on, Ocho? I mean, there are a lot of people that change shoes, Ocho. There are a lot of people that change shoes. Your body, genetics, you know. But he had never been injured before.
Starting point is 00:11:16 He telling me the goddamn shoes I'm wearing is the reason you missed a thousand-something games. Hell no. Ocho, you do realize, like, the feet, everything leads up, so knees I mean your ankles, your hips your knees, everything is impacted
Starting point is 00:11:30 and maybe the shoe, the way the shoe was constructed man listen Lonzo, that's my dog man but nah, we ain't doing that, man I hoop in motherfucking chucks man, so I ain't nah, hell nah yeah, you did once I ain't, no, hell no. Yeah, you did once upon a time.
Starting point is 00:11:47 How many people you see playing in Chucks now? Hey, can I tell you something? Yeah. Just real quick. I'm not even joking. I know y'all think I play a lot. There's footage. I think I scored maybe 17 points.
Starting point is 00:12:01 There was a celebrity basketball game in philly with with gilly uh jerron ennis boots jerron boots ennis uh it was it was fun it was very competitive and i played in chucks full speed high tops you know and i'm just and i was able to move and maneuver and then in my lateral movement and i'm taking people off the dribble and you know jumping and shoot it you know i like so i'm like I'm like Chuck Taylor is a great shoe for lifting weights because of the flat sole. But maybe and maybe that's why we saw a lot of guys that have foot problems when they wore Chuck Taylor's. That ever thought that ever crossed your mind? Yes. You know, it's hard for me.
Starting point is 00:12:43 You know why it's hard for me to even understand or really can't even fathom the shoes being the reason? Because my black ass ain't never been hurt. So it's hard for me to kind of have any type of sympathy or really empathize with the fact that he's saying the fact that maybe the structure of the
Starting point is 00:12:59 shoe is the reason why I had... Noted. Possible. Okay, it's a possibility. I had, you know, noted. Possible. Okay. Okay, it's a possibility. I know the percentage, the percentage of that possibility is extremely goddamn low.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Well, he didn't say it did. He said it may have contributed. So we'll leave it at that. Starting point is 00:32:13 What did? He might not come when you want him, but he's always on time. On time, Mocho. He might not come when you want him, but he's always on time. Well, McDonald's is bringing back the snack wrap, baby. That's what I'm talking about. But the funny thing about it is, and the timing is great, is the fact that the snack wraps are coming back
Starting point is 00:32:30 in 2025, and I can't even have McDonald's until the new year. Right. So you be perfect. That's right on time. See how God works? Hey, listen. One thing about him, he don't make no mistakes. He don't make no mistakes. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Now it's time for our last segment of the evening, Ocho. Now it's time for Q and A. Lainey Ray, Lainey Ray asked, hey guys, so excited for new orleans live show for those of us going what are you guys gonna wear i need to know the dress code oh wait where in new orleans uh for the live show what are we gonna wear oh hey listen you know i'm i'm'm going to be decked out. Starting point is 00:33:25 My cousin, Coleman Domingo, you know, I'm going to take some inspiration from him. I'm not going to come. I'm not going to step the way he stepped, but I'm not playing. Did I tell you I met him? You met Coleman? I did. Cool, ain't he? He is.
Starting point is 00:33:47 I took a picture with him i met him at uh jfk at the uh at uh at tier one at tier one yeah that dad yeah that that's my uncle man that's my uncle man he's a no you weren't there that time he's a huge inspiration for me when it comes to fashion it's just i'm a lazy dresser it has to be a special occasion for me to step out there. I would never be able to step like him. Oh, he put that. He put that on. Hey, man, listen, it's level. It's levels to this. He could.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Hey, he stepped. I would never. I would never. You don't be playing. You don't play with his dress now. Don't play. You don't play. And I know we go.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I know the Uncle Domingo. I salute you. I love you uh you're inspirational for me i've i listen i have a vision board i just can't pull it off i can't pull it off but here's the thing though joe in order to dress like that you have to dress like that he you ain't gonna see him you're not gonna see him in public without his stepping clothes on. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. And people like, man, it's got to be a
Starting point is 00:34:49 very, very special occasion because most of the time you're gonna be in sweats, you're gonna be in your dickies and things like that. I'm gonna be in athleisure and so, you know, like you, it has to be something that really requires me. I mean, he was in the airport just cashed and he
Starting point is 00:35:06 had it on. Yeah. Yeah. Let me tell you how much of a lazy dress I am. This is our Thursday. Today's Thursday, right? Yeah. How many days have I had on the same goddamn black outfit and black t-shirt? Man, you had that
Starting point is 00:35:22 same black skin for 47 years. 56 years 56 and i'm trying to fool the people watching the show all i did was change the glass i just fooled nobody i changed my glasses trying to make it because it feel like a new outfit though it don't if i listen if i change my shades the outfit resets itself well now that you got your got your place, we got a swag bag coming. For me? Yeah. Hey, man.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Hey, thank y'all. Thank y'all. I really appreciate it because I've been, you know, it's been a rough month, man. So the fact that y'all are going to send me something and receive something that can lift my spirits, I really appreciate that. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal
Starting point is 00:40:11 that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy said, Super Bowl nightcap is upon us.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And I can't wait. Since you're allergic to shellfish, what is the one dish you always look forward to when visiting New Orleans, Ocho? What's your go-to dish when you're in the Big Easy? Definitely gumbo. What's the name of that place that we went to? Remember we went down to New Orleans and we went to that place?
Starting point is 00:41:07 Twisted Waffle. That's where we went. Man, they got so many different kinds of waffles. Right. You know what? It's been so long since I've been to New Orleans. I can't remember the name of the spot, but I know when I do
Starting point is 00:41:22 get there, I got to get my beignets. Oh, yeah. Oh, so you want to go to Cafe Du Monde? Yeah, Cafe Du Monde. That's one of them. I got to get my beignets. I don't want all that powder sugar on top, though. Yeah, just light. I tell them light sugar.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Yeah, man. But you got to eat them when they're hot, though, Ocho. Yeah, you got to. You got to. I mean, anything else is unsimilized, huh? And I tell you what, I ain't a big you look a lot of people like that king cake it's too sweet for me yeah yeah yeah you know can i tell you something real quick a quick story yeah go ahead why and why i'm excited about going to new orleans and i want i might get there even earlier than i'm supposed to i don don't know. I don't know how long we'll, Unc, you will know. Maybe some people in the chat, chat, I don't know if you
Starting point is 00:42:09 guys remember the homeless man that I had, like, Unc, I swear for God, it might've been, we had maybe a three-year run. His name is Porkchop. And I mean, Ash, Ash, if you could hear me, look up, look up me and Porkchop. When I tell you me and this homeless dude, he came and he came and bothered me at Davis Cafe one day on South Beach and asked me to buy him a beer. I went and bought him a case of beer, but I made him sit and eat with me. And we sat there and we ate and we talked and I asked him about his story and how did you become homeless and what you're doing out here in Miami. And he was from New Orleans. When I swear for God, I tell you no lie,
Starting point is 00:42:47 me and Porkchop, and some people in the chat might know this story, me and Porkchop hung out every single day for a damn minute, two years straight. I got him cleaned up,
Starting point is 00:42:57 bought him clothes, had him stand at the big, I had him stand at the big house, you know, back in the day. And I tried to do everything I can to help him and save him, but he didn't have the resources, you know? Right. And so I know, back in the day. And I tried to do everything I can to help him and save him, but he didn't have the resources, you know? Right.
Starting point is 00:43:07 And so I know he was getting a check somehow. I don't know how he was getting a damn check, but he got on the goddamn bus and left New Orleans, man. And that shit hurt me so bad, man. So I'm hoping when I'm in New Orleans... You run into him. Yeah, I got to find him. People on Twitter that live in New Orleans
Starting point is 00:43:24 always see him on Canal Street. He's still homeless. He's not doing as well as he was once I got a hold of him. So I'm really looking forward, man, to finding Porkchop and maybe hoping to clean him up again and maybe have him come to the live show or something, man.
Starting point is 00:43:39 I miss him. Ash, if you look it up, Ash, you'll see the story. Yeah, she found it. Yeah, she found the story. Hey, when I tell you, every day for two years straight, like, you know, I don't have no entourage. I don't hang with nobody. So it was easy for me to become, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:58 become friends with him and go places. We go eat everywhere. We went to King of Diamonds. I took him to King of Diamonds. I had him fresh. It's a picture of him online and he's dancing on a stripper right and it's another picture where he's not used to seeing that much money so instead of throwing the money at the women what you think he's doing with the money he grabbed and put in his pocket oh he's stashing all the money in his pocket, man.
Starting point is 00:44:25 I'm like, child, you just got to throw it to the women. I'll take care of you after this. Yeah, just have some fun. You're like, ah, man, fuck that. This shit going. God damn poor child, man. Nikki said, Shannon, can you please tell all these young'uns why Sterling Sharp deserves to be in the Hall of Fame?
Starting point is 00:44:48 I think the thing is, for the most part, Ocho, is a lot of people didn't see my brother play. But in that, he was a triple crown winner. He's one of six guys to lead the league in catches, touchdowns and reception. I mean, yards. He led the league in catches three times. He led the league in touchdowns, no, he led the league in catches three times, led the league in touchdowns twice, led the league in yards once. And you see those numbers in seven seasons. That's what he did.
Starting point is 00:45:16 So he led the league in catches three times in seven seasons, led the league in touchdowns. You can see right there, three-time first-team All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowler, 65 touchdowns. That's right there three time first team all pro five time pro bowl to 65 touchdowns that's seven seasons seven now go back and look at he retired at 29
Starting point is 00:45:33 go back and look at Antonio Freeman's look at Robert Brooks numbers those next three to four years that they played with Brett and and I think Antonio Freeman, he went to the, we played against him in Super Bowl here in Brooks. And this is not a slight on them. They weren't Sterling Sharp.
Starting point is 00:45:57 The year that he played, the only receiver that you could say, okay, he was better than my brother was Jerry. And he was right there. Go look at the numbers. Jerry's numbers for seven years that my brother played from 80, from 88 to 94. And compare anybody else's numbers, all the receivers,
Starting point is 00:46:17 that's whatever that's in the hall of fame. Look at their numbers from 88 to 94. Look at my brothers and look at Jerry's. No. From 88 to 94. Look at my brothers and look at Jerry Snow. So, we hoping he made it to the finals this year. That would be probably... I've had some great moments in my professional career, my personal career.
Starting point is 00:46:41 I don't know, man. This would be it for me, man. This is, this will be it for me, man. This will be, this will be, yeah, man. This will be, I ain't really got to, if I don't even see,
Starting point is 00:47:00 if I don't see 57, to see my brother go into the Hall of Fame. Yeah, that'd be live, boy. That's it for me. I would have lived a full life. Yeah, everything coming full circle. Yeah, everything coming full circle. He led the league in receptions
Starting point is 00:47:16 89, 92, 93. He's the first to go back to back with over 100 catches. Two-time touchdown. In his last six games that he played in his career he caught 13 touchdowns um led the league in uh touchdowns twice 92 94 led the league in catches i mean uh in yardage i think in 92. But, you know, sometimes that happens. But I got an opportunity to play 14 years,
Starting point is 00:47:54 and he got an opportunity. He had the best seat in the house. So we won three Super Bowls. We went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and he got an opportunity to see that. So he's been by my side every major event that I've had happen in my life. My brother's been a part
Starting point is 00:48:09 of it. And so to be, to get an opportunity to potentially be there, to see him get that call, and to see him go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, man, it wouldn't get any better than that. that's for damn sure
Starting point is 00:48:25 that's life life's lesson says what's up guys what do you think prime would have more difficult time guarding on first and goal at the eight yard line or all three of you guys are in your prime oh he's gonna put the clamps on Ocho cause Ocho ain't physical
Starting point is 00:48:41 enough he already told you, Ocho. What are you going to do to you? I don't need to be physical. That wasn't even part of my game is the fact that I was so goddamn cacked quick. There's nothing he would be able to do because he ain't even quick as me.
Starting point is 00:48:55 He just fast. There's a difference. You need to understand skill set. That's all right. Prime got something for you yeah I hope so yeah Prime can't do nothing with me except catch a catfish man
Starting point is 00:49:12 that's it yeah I need to go down there and beat him in his own pond you don't like that I don't got the patience for fishing man I do I ain't got the patience for fishing either I got the patience to beat him that's what't got the patience to fish it either. I got the patience to beat him. That's what I got the patience to do.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Beat him. Patterson Yazzie said, Chad, should I shoot my shot? I'm nervous. I haven't asked anyone out on a date in forever any advice. I think this girl is sending me signals or am I just delusional? Have been single for years.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Is it my time to shine? Much love. Yeah. Or am I just delusional? Have been single for single, for several single, I've been single for years. Is it my time to shine? Much love. Yeah. You need no comment. Listen, you got to walk in that thing with confidence, man.
Starting point is 00:49:53 We can tell you that shit. That shit. They'll come from within, man. What you talking about? Are you better, man? What's man?
Starting point is 00:49:59 What's up? What's her name? I got to take one of them. Rose Parks. Birthday. Go ahead and take one of them Roll Sparks. First day. Oh, Joe, will you take one of the Roll Sparks? You see you walking there with three legs? Oh, that's my dude. That's my man.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Oh, you know what I'm saying? From 200 to 100, man, he trying to go from home plate to first base. He asking for advice. I'm at the plate. I'm trying to hit it over the fence. Hey, I'm trying to hit it over the fence.
Starting point is 00:50:40 You know, baby step. Baby step. The man say he been single for a minute. As he's saying, she's been giving for a minute as he's saying she's been giving him signs so he's unsure he's unsure of himself you got to go for that and you can't go all timid and shy you gotta you gotta be confident in your approach in your approach like what's up you know i've been thinking i'm thinking you've been giving me signs i'm not sure how to take you know know, the sign. So I would appreciate if you would be a little bit more direct
Starting point is 00:51:07 because if you're interested in me, I'm interested in you and I would love to see where it can go. Listen, we can go to dinner, you know, breakfast, lunch, you know, depending on your schedule. I'm here for you.
Starting point is 00:51:20 So what would you like to do? We can exchange numbers. I give you my Instagrams, my Twitter. Yeah, I guess that's the new thing now. You do we can exchange numbers i give you my instagrams my twitter i guess that's the new thing now you exchange you will change numbers you exchange instagrams now with your but it depends depends on on um on on how efficient he wants to be if you if you really about your business you need to get all three get matter of fact get a facebook too matter of fact get an email nobody man these these youngins on Facebook?
Starting point is 00:51:46 I don't know. I don't got no Facebook. I mean, I got it, but somebody else has that. I don't know nothing about no Facebook. I don't know. Jordan, people be messaging us on Facebook. Jordan, don't be turning over no info. All of you talking about, hey, hey boss, you mind
Starting point is 00:52:09 if I take the rest of the day off? Hey, now all of a sudden you want to check my Facebook and now you want the day off. Something ain't right. Something fishy about that. Michael said, me and my girl of 10 years broke up tonight.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Damn, bro. 10. Bro, I've been there 10 years of a long time. Yeah. A decade. Yeah. Fuck, man. Hey, I'm honestly, I'm sick of these breakups, man. Hey, I'm honestly, I'm sick of these breakups, man.
Starting point is 00:52:49 It happened, though, Chosha. Man, I mean. It don't have to happen. We need to find a solution on how to fix this stuff. Well, that's why people that's been married for an extremely long time, they choose to stay married.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Because it's just as easy to stay married as it is to break up. Wait a minute. Hold on. Hold on. People choose to... People choose to stay married. You got to... Because you work through whatever problem that may arise, Ostro, you work through it. Or you attempt to work through it. You don't say f it at the first
Starting point is 00:53:25 sign of trouble like the first time where there's a disagreement now people just say hey man i'll start all over there's somebody better than me i ain't finna do this well let me write that down and write that down but i'm gonna tell i'm gonna take this to my therapist yeah i like i like I like that. I like that. I like that. Matter of fact, hold on. I got something I want to tell you too.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Now that you're on that topic, I had something I had to tell you. It was real good too. Hey, young dude, 10 years. Hey Young dude 10 years And now y'all no longer together, right?
Starting point is 00:54:12 Mm-hmm Always remember The game ends When the king fails Not when a pawn takes your queen or when the queen leaves. A man doesn't lose value because a woman has betrayed him. She only removed herself from the game. The king always moved with strategy, not emotion.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Now you take with that what you will. It's a little poem I wrote back in back in 92. And it still resonates today. I think Ocho is just here's the thing with relationships. It's always tough. The breakup is always tough. Yeah. If you're not the one that wants to get broken up with.
Starting point is 00:55:03 See, if you want to do the breaking up, it's easy. Hey, I'm done. This ain't working for me. But when you want to be that. Right. But at the end of the day, if they're not trying to hear that, I'm not going to beg you. Yeah. Be with me.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Right, right, right, right. Now, listen, I ain't going to run after you. I might jog a little bit. yeah yeah yeah i might i might i might speed walk you know but hey it's it's it's we talked about it last night but with with jr you know you know that there are times and that that pain and being in that fetal position and understanding that hurt that comes yeah for sure something that was a intricate part of your daily routine and and and having that having that gone it's it's it's it's it can be rough it can be rough regardless how tough and i don't care how much pride and how much ego you got, you know,
Starting point is 00:56:05 Hey, well, I don't wish that. I don't wish that pain on nobody, man. Oh, Joe, if it doesn't hurt, you didn't care enough.
Starting point is 00:56:16 I'm not telling what somebody told me. I'm telling you what I know because I invest a lot in whatever I do. So that's why when I lost, it hurt me. That's why I had to go home. I couldn't be around people because I know what I put into that game. Not just the game that week, but I know what I did that
Starting point is 00:56:33 offseason. When you're in a relationship and you know what you put into it to make this work and all of a sudden it doesn't and that person doesn't want to be with you, that is hurt. Hey, you know what? The most important part you just said
Starting point is 00:56:49 is the fact that you invest in something and you don't get the return on said investment, you can't get that back, and then that individual doesn't want to be with you anymore and then you start you know then you start questioning yourself so i'm looking in the mirror well shit what the fuck wrong with me look at me look at this who don't like this chocolate and and what hurts sometimes oh joe oh talk to me now. Is that as this thing is starting to fray, they give you the worst of themselves, but immediately
Starting point is 00:57:29 give somebody else the best of themselves. Ocho, I ain't doing it. Ocho, stop. Ocho, I'm done. I'm done, Ocho. I'm done. Hey, I'm done with this. I'm done. Let's just move on. Ocho, let's just move on. Let's just move on, Ocho. Let's move on. Boy,'s move on boy you talking tonight
Starting point is 00:57:46 you talking tonight so when things are ending they give you the worst of themselves and give the new person the benefit of the doubt and they get the best version of them oh boy if you had an all-in,
Starting point is 00:58:08 I'd give you $100 right now, boy. If you had an all-in right now, you could have my whole savings account, boy. Bro, hey, look. Well, you appreciate it. Ocho, I know I joke a lot, but I've spent a lot of time by myself and analyzing. I'm very self-analytical. I look at it and, and, and, but I've had, I spent a lot of time by myself and analyzing. I'm very self analytical.
Starting point is 00:58:27 I look at it and I analyze things and I see things for what they truly are. But come on, come on, Creflo shark. They call me Creflo. No dollars, but, but,
Starting point is 00:58:43 but that, that, I think that's what really hurts. Yeah. And that's why, like a lot of times, like when you leave a relationship, you really have to,
Starting point is 00:58:53 you really have to like, let it go. You have to like, I don't, you know, I, I can't follow because I, I,
Starting point is 00:59:01 I, I've been that old joke. I know because I've broken up with people and gave them the worst of me and immediately gave somebody else the best. I've done it because I'm not telling you what somebody's told you, told me. I'm telling you what I know. And I'm telling you how human nature is.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And so that's and I remember and I'm thinking to myself, the way you are now, Shannon, why couldn't you be like that then? Take your time. It's tough, boy. It's tough. It's tough, man.
Starting point is 00:59:40 I remember it like yesterday. Come on. Take your time. I mean, look, and this is really the first time. I remember my homeboy. He called. He said, homeboy, how you doing? I said, man, I ain't good. He said, homeboy. He said, I know
Starting point is 01:00:04 you will never you would never ask me to but if you need me to I'll call on your behalf when somebody when somebody that's close to you and they say I'm willing to extend myself I'm willing to extend my
Starting point is 01:00:24 name on behalf of you and then my sister I remember talking to my sister and she would always send me things every morning every morning when I wake up because obviously she's on the east coast I'm in LA so by
Starting point is 01:00:42 the time I get up at you know I was getting up because I had to be to work at 4, Ocho. So I'm getting up at 3, 15 because I got to take the dogs out, let them do what they need to do. I need to take a shower and I need to get to work. So she would always send me these things. And I remember getting home
Starting point is 01:00:57 and I was about to go to bed. I was about to take a nap after the show. And I remember she called me and she said, how you doing? I said, I'm all right. I said, I'm all right, but she said how you doing I said I'm alright I said I'm alright but she said Shannon
Starting point is 01:01:07 it was quiet she said she said how long you been Shannon I said all my life she said how long you been Shannon I said all my life she said you been big you been strong you been resilient you been loving you been caring
Starting point is 01:01:34 cause this woman exited your life you still gonna be Shannon don't let this situation change you you're still gonna be my baby brother and I'm still gonna love you and it was obviously my homeboys Bucket and Burns
Starting point is 01:01:58 they called and they checked on me but it was my brother and sister because they're like my mother and father even though we brothers and sisters is the relationship that we have. I remember, and this when it really dawned on me, Ocho, that I was really in a dark place. Yes, sir. And my brother
Starting point is 01:02:13 has never said this before, and he's never said this to me since. Take your time. He said, if you need me, I'll come out there. I'm a... At the time, how old am I? I'm a at the time how old am I 2006 so I'm 48
Starting point is 01:02:33 yeah 48, 49 about to be 40, I was 49 he said if you need me I'll come out there that's when it really dawned on me i was like damn he really worried yeah my brother really he had never shown me now i know later after talking to him he's been other situations that he's been worried about me but he never but he never let me know that he was worried that was the first time in 49 years that i could see i could tell that he was worried. That was the first time in 49 years
Starting point is 01:03:05 that I could see, I could tell that he was worried. Man, I remember as I was thinking, I was like, man, what the heck? Oh, you snapped up at her? Called my sister. I said, hey, I'm good. Told my brother, I say hey I'm good told my brother
Starting point is 01:03:26 I said I'm good how long it took though how long it took Mark it took me a while Ocho this happened uh we were talking about November, December, January, February, March
Starting point is 01:03:40 it took me about 6-7 months though god damn it did Ocho. It did. It did. But. Hey. Sunshine follows rain, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:03:59 I'm better for it. As I look back, there are some things that I could, I wouldn't have had I not had I not, did that relationship not dissolve? I'm not here because I turned away a lot of things. Right. Because I didn't want to be away from home because I didn't want to be away from her because, you know, she. Well, I need to go make, you know, I'm turning down 50, 75 thousand dollar gig because he's not comfortable.
Starting point is 01:04:29 People have what he's why does he want to be with you? She started to believe like, yeah, why do you want to be with me? You're this and you can have this, that, that. I factored all that in when I decided to be with you. Come on, man. Did you not think about that then? Why is it an issue now? What is the appreciation?

I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on good company, the podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next. In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting
Starting point is 01:06:16 audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there, and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We'll be right back. By his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction. Those convictions never wavered.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common, Will Smith, and Bob Costas. It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime. Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Starting point is 01:08:29 Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Starting point is 01:09:06 Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Stop worrying about why i chose you i did why is unimportant right because in this situation situation, Ocho, yeah, I'm who I am and you are who you are, but should I not love you just the same? Should I feel differently because you don't have this name, you don't have this title?
Starting point is 01:09:55 I was confused about why she felt that way. Why? I hate when women ask me, you can have anybody, why me? you know what now that I think about it I probably should go try to find one of them antibodies and leave you to F alone because you're unsure of yourself
Starting point is 01:10:12 which is going to make you unsure of us and then long as there's doubt in your mind you're never going to be able to fully give yourself to me but like you just said earlier God don't make no mistakes. Hey, 1987, Chad, will you grow your hair back? Love you guys, man.
Starting point is 01:10:34 Thanks for all the relationship and financial advice. I mean, what I will do as far as growing my hair back, if I go into campus, I'll be on campus about three months. I'm looking forward to beating the shit out of Keith Lee. I'm not sure we can schedule that fight,
Starting point is 01:10:53 but when I do go into a fight camp, I will grow my hair out. Won't cut it. Looks scruffy. I won't cut it till fight night. So at whatever point this comes into fruition, because he done wrote a he done
Starting point is 01:11:06 wrote a check his ass can't cash yeah but you know sometimes oh joe when you're dealing with when you're dealing with situations and we'll get back to this yeah those shoes is that a lot of times it's the outside because when i was in college all her girlfriends was in her ear right oh he ain't i was like do you understand right why are you over Oh, he ain't. I was like, do you understand? Right. Why are you over there? And I ain't round him out. I said, but you know your girl's trying to holler at me, right?
Starting point is 01:11:31 Hey, what? Hey, what? Why they telling you you shouldn't be with him? I don't know what you see in him. They the same ones. When they catch me and you not around, they asking the same. I'm saying to myself, they asking the same ones when they catch me and you not around they asking the same i'm saying to myself they asking the same questions why you with her you can do so much better hey but okay i said you gonna let them talk you right out of relationship yeah and matter of fact and you know what you know
Starting point is 01:11:57 you know what's funny is the one doing all the talking or why you with him you ever noticed they always single yes or notice they don't never have nobody or they bounce from pillar to post or they bouncing from dick to dick but they want you in the same situation
Starting point is 01:12:13 they in? Yes. No consistency. Nobody you can depend on consistently. Come hell or high water, you know, well, you know what?
Starting point is 01:12:21 I know he always going to be there for me no matter what. And guess what? While they talk about I don't know why, I guarantee you know what? I know he always going to be there for me no matter what. And guess what? While they talk about, I don't know why, I guarantee you right now they'll switch positions with you. But they don't know why you want to be with
Starting point is 01:12:33 him, but they'll switch positions with you and be with him. I don't know why women like that. I ain't never been in no situation. Hey, bro, that's who you want to be with? Take off. Yeah. Yeah. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. I ain't never been in no situation. Hey, bro, that's who you want to be with? Take off. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:46 Yeah. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Enjoy it. I ain't going to let you. I ain't going to let you. I ain't going to let you, you know, mess over my boy.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Now, if I see something, oh, I'm telling. You got to say something. You got to say something. You can't. Don't do it. Don't be talking about it. It ain't what you think. It's exactly what I think.
Starting point is 01:13:03 So whatever you think, I think I'm thinking. That's what I'm thinking. I'm going to tell him. That's what I think. It's exactly what I think. So whatever you think I think I'm thinking, that's what I'm thinking and I'm going to tell him that's what I thought. Yeah. Don't leave me blind. Don't leave me blind. Don't do that. Yeah. I never.
Starting point is 01:13:17 Switching shoes regularly. Those straight tracks. Look, I bought a pair of the big ballers because I'm a support. I'm a LeVar fan. I bought a pair too. I love the fact that the way he... I love the way the fact that he came for his boys. I love the fact that he and his wife, Tina,
Starting point is 01:13:34 he's been rock solid. She went through her medical issue. He was right there by her side. He never wavered. And he loves his family. And I can respect that and I can appreciate that. At the end of the day, Ocho,
Starting point is 01:13:49 the mind of... Lonzo, I think Zo really feel that that might have had an impact on his career. It might have prohibited him from becoming what he could have become. Because Ocho, three years is a long time away from especially a professional sport
Starting point is 01:14:06 that's a long long time hey um we know you're a busy man you too Ocho but on your days off from first take do you stay tuned in to some of the hot debates or watch any no I don't I don't watch it I don't watch I don't watch it. I don't watch.
Starting point is 01:14:25 I don't watch any of that. I do not. Because you got to think about it. We, Ocho and I, we go five days a week. I'm doing two days a week of first take. And sometimes I take two episodes of club.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Shay, Shay, the days that I'm off, I'm looking at stuff that we could possibly talk about. Right. Oh, nightcap. I'm looking at stuff that we could possibly talk about on nightcap. I'm trying to find out, okay, who do I think my listening audience,
Starting point is 01:14:54 my viewing audience would like to see me sit down and have a conversation with. So I don't know. I don't watch. I don't watch. I don't watch any. If it's not a sporting events. No, I don't watch any debate.
Starting point is 01:15:03 I don't watch first take when I'm not old. I don't watch first take when I'm not old I don't watch anything else when I'm not old I'm just trying to be the best I possibly can I know what's expected of me when I show up I know what Stephen A you know gave me the opportunity I'll I'm forever indebted to him for that
Starting point is 01:15:19 but I know what they expect to get from me and I'm not going to disappoint them but that's how I am even when my time was But I know what they expect to get from me. And I'm not going to disappoint them. But that's how I am. Even when my time was... Because when we first started, they used to have somebody to fill in us undisputed. And then we just went totally dark.
Starting point is 01:15:36 I didn't watch. I didn't watch. But... Darkmore said, Detroit probably has the best team in the NFC, if not the NFL. How scary could it have been if Hutchinson hadn't gotten hurt?
Starting point is 01:15:53 Yeah. Hutch was good. Very good. Very, yeah. But he's on his way to being, you know... He was, you know... He had, what, six sacks in the first four or five games? He was on his way to being a serious defensive player of the year candidate.
Starting point is 01:16:07 And hopefully he can come back next year 100% healthy and pick up where he left off. But they're getting great production from Z, Z'Darrius Smith. Z'Darrius is a professional go-get-the-quarterback guy. That's what he is. He can rush from either side. He got great moves. He got great tenacity. I's what he is. He can rush from either side. He's got great moves. He's got great tenacity. I like
Starting point is 01:16:27 Z a lot. Hopefully, they can put it together, but that back end is going to have to get a little better, Ojo, because you don't want... Here's the thing with it. You can't let it come down to a call
Starting point is 01:16:43 one way or another and have it impact the game. Right. When you leave it, when you, a, when you leave it, it's a three point game or it's a five point game or you down and you try to
Starting point is 01:16:55 get the ball back. The last thing you want to do is to do something dumb. That's the last thing that you want to do, but they look good right now they look really good Kipper Norwood Jr. said if the Bears need a coach I think it should be Ben Johnson because he's a great one
Starting point is 01:17:12 you like Ben going into the division? Yeah I like Ben you know listen if you can't get Ben Shanahan is the next big thing you know I think Ben can do wonders for Caleb Williams. He can do wonders for DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. And again, with his creativity and having DeAndre Swift.
Starting point is 01:17:34 I'm not saying DeAndre is Jameer Gibbs in Montgomery, but he's good. He's good at what he does at the running back position. He can catch out the backfield as well. So with Ben Johnson's creativity, I think they will be just fine. Or Shanahan, either one. You can't go wrong either way. Right. NFL Matchup Highlights said,
Starting point is 01:17:53 What's up, Uncle Nocho? Just want to say thanks for the shout out. I made the video edit of Sterling versus Deion, and I saw you guys posted on Nightcap IG story. I feel like I made it. Appreciate that, bro. Did a great job of that. My brother obviously
Starting point is 01:18:07 has the ultimate respect. He's a year old. He got into the league at 89. Time came in at 90. They had some great matchups. Time has always had a fondness for my brother. He's always appreciated
Starting point is 01:18:19 his work ethic and how he played, how he approached the game. My brother feels the exact same way. It's always great when I see those guys get together and reminisce about the battles that they had. But it's great.
Starting point is 01:18:34 That's one thing I can say about Tom. Like, I know him on a different level. And it's funny how people perceive him. And then when you know him on a different level, it's funny. But, yeah, I appreciate that man we appreciate that and thanks for letting us use it Marcos Angeles said hey
Starting point is 01:18:53 love the show could you do me a solid shout me out I turned 31 today any advice for a 31 year old Marco appreciate that thank you for your support thanks for watching thanks for listening yeah 31 keep living Marco, appreciate that. Starting point is 01:19:58 Lions beat the Green Bay Packers their division rivals by the score of 34-31. The Lions are now 12-1. The Packers fall to 9-4. But it was a very good ballgame. I think everybody got something out of this ballgame. I think this is a far cry from some of the Thursday night games that we've had in the past. But this was a very good ballgame.
