Jordan, return to their hometown for a fresh start, only to discover that an unspeakable evil is waiting to welcome them back. Don't miss the genre-bending thrill ride shot with IMAX film cameras. Starting point is 00:04:58 Rated R. Under 17. Not admitted without parent. Kmart, the big story this week, John Moran. Spencer Haywood told TMZ that John's ruining his career. He said the people that are around him are not advising him right. He's ruining his career. He's ruining his family's lives and his team, most importantly. He's letting all of them down. So I'm just disappointed in Ja.
Starting point is 00:05:35 K-Mart, you're an elder statesman. You were the voice of reason a lot of times. Sometimes you were unreasonable in the locker room. But if you had a young guy like Ja, immensely talented, and he keeps doing this kind of stuff, what would you say to him, K-Mart? That's the honest conversation, man. For one, you got to have a rapport with
Starting point is 00:05:54 him outside of basketball. Right? That's first and foremost. You got to be able to relate to him on some level. Once you have that, you establish that. Yeah, it's...
Starting point is 00:06:08 It's being honest with him, man. But at some point, words are not enough. And in this situation, unfortunately, I'm starting to see that words and certain things don't matter. No matter who's in his locker room. I think that's why they brought Marcus Smart in, right?
Starting point is 00:06:30 Initially, to try to be that. Marcus Smart has had some hiccups. He's been feisty. He's been that in the NBA. To try to be that. but when, when your immediate surroundings and immediate family are not helping the situation, there's nothing that me as a vet can say to you because we all can do our same.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I only have you for a certain amount of time during the day, right? I'm not going to follow you home. I'm not going to hold your hand. We don't live together. We know. So we're not living in the you home. I'm not going to hold your hand. We don't live together. So we're not living in the same complex. We're not doing these things.
Starting point is 00:07:08 So I can do everything in my power, but once you leave and once you're around your guys and your family, sometimes those people have more influence than the guys who you should be looking up to
Starting point is 00:07:20 or you should be looking up to. But that influence. And unfortunately, in this situation, that's what it is. Yeah you know okay and i and when it comes to players like this players of this magnitude players that are this good uh players like this that have a certain type of individuals around them so most of the time we call them we call them yes men i mean let me just say what it is you got a bunch of dudes around you that
Starting point is 00:07:46 are not going to tell you what you want to hear and don't nobody want to get their water cut off as I call it. So I think somebody has to be an elder statesman that's part of the NBA that conducted themselves somewhat in a similar manner that John looks up to
Starting point is 00:08:02 when he was younger that played. Now, maybe they could get through to him and get him to understand, you know, the NBA is not against you. You know, there are certain things that you got in trouble for in the past, so there are certain things you can't do or you can't get away with based on past behaviors. That's all.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Yes, other players in the NBA might be doing, you know, the little gestures or whatever, but they also haven't had issues with doing anything or brandishing weaponry outside of the game of basketball. So it's different. So you held to a different standard.
Starting point is 00:08:36 You've got to understand that. Who the OG in the streets? This is what needs to happen. I don't say AI. No, I'm talking about the OG, the real OG in the streets. This is what needs to happen. I don't say AI. I don't say AI. I'm talking about the OG, the real OG in the streets of Memphis.
Starting point is 00:08:49 No, no. Y'all go to John and say, John, cut this bull jive out. See, we in these streets because we have to be. You pretending. What we do,
Starting point is 00:08:58 this real over here. But I'm trying, who is he trying to impress? Because me personally, I don't think John Hood. I don't think John bought that life. That looks good. I mean, he went in. That looked good.
Starting point is 00:09:14 I mean, the people, oh man, John not like that. I know people that are like that, that are laying down like that. But he ain't here. You work your whole life. K-Mart, you say you from Oak Cliff. You worked your whole life to get out of that environment.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Why would you get out of that environment and then try to prove that you still down? Man. No, I'm not down. That ain't me. We're not.
Starting point is 00:09:40 No, I'm not down. No, no. I live all the age. The Lord blessed me beyond blessed. He helped me get out of that situation. no, I'm not down. No, no, I love all that. Hey, the Lord blessed me beyond blessed. He helped me get out of that situation. And then I'm still going to pretend. I ain't saying you can't have no,
Starting point is 00:09:53 no firearm to protect yourself. It's the people that, it's the people that you don't think got no firearm that are set fire to you. It's one thing of having, it's one thing of people that's willing to use it. Two totally separate conversations right and the city that he lives in
Starting point is 00:10:10 they bought that thing man they bought it they are we all know this man so and I put this so I said this on Gills Arena man and I've spoken to said person who I'm about to mention right now so I've I said this on Gills Arena man and I've spoken to
Starting point is 00:10:26 said person who I'm about to mention right now since I've said this I put a lot of this on T. Moran I put a lot of this behavior on him
Starting point is 00:10:36 but first okay you want to let your child grow up cool he's a professional athlete now cool you want to give him a little leeway a little rope
Starting point is 00:10:44 to be him to find himself to do all these things yes absolutely but when it's become detrimental to his career and his brand or who he is we got to reevaluate some things son we got to go back to the drawing board son we can't do these things son i can't be at the game behaving this way son i got to move different son so we could do So all of these things they have to do collectively to change people's images on John, the family, the Grizzlies, all of it. It has to be a collective effort. Because if not, like we all know, the only thing we respect as athletes is playing time and money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:26 And these little slap on the wrist and this, that, and the third, like I tell people all the time, man, and God rest David Stern's soul. If this was David Stern's NBA, none of them. Yeah. He'd make an example out of it. You're not going to make a mockery of this logo. You're not going to continue to make a mockery of this logo. You're not going to continue to make a mockery of this.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Even as great as he is, David Stern didn't care. He don't care nothing about that. You're not bigger than that logo, man. As y'all say, the shield, right? No one is bigger than y'all's shield, right? David Stern carried that NBA logo the same as the
Starting point is 00:12:03 NFL shield. You're not bigger than that he would have made an example out of John either you listen this man told me the words out of his David Stern's mouth to my ears
Starting point is 00:12:12 son if you want to continue to be a part of this NBA you will change your ways and this was me fighting on the floor this had nothing about firearms
Starting point is 00:12:22 me getting in trouble this was just me fighting on the floor and giving me this warning. So what you think the message would have been for this situation with this kid? I don't care. K-U was in the league when everybody had, if you remember, everybody used to wear the baggy pants and had the tall tees. And David Starr said, y'all going to clean this issue up.
Starting point is 00:12:44 He said, we got too much money at stake. Sponsors, advertisers, this is over. Nah. This man put in a dress code, dog. Cause dudes was coming to the game in throwback jerseys and wearing throwback jerseys
Starting point is 00:12:56 and stuff on the bench. He put in a dress code. Hey, K-Bart, I got about 70 of them throwing in the throwback jerseys. Come on, man. We got, no. So it's, it's lessons need to be learned
Starting point is 00:13:06 in this current situation. We do just recently. The old gun thing, they find you 75 and you come back and you post pew, pew. Like... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:18 It ain't enough yet. You got to... Somebody got to step in. I hope... I hope he... I hope Ja figures it out because he doesn't realize how much money he's actually costing himself with this. I mean, yeah, he has the Nike deal, but Nike is not the only brand that pays money. They have so many other brands that he's missing out on so many opportunities. A lot of times, a lot of
Starting point is 00:13:46 people thought he could be the face of the NBA. Charismatic, the way he can play the game. He's a small guy and the NBA loves small guys. They love guards. And he has it. And I just don't know why he wants to
Starting point is 00:14:01 perpetuate this type of behavior. But to each his own. Kmart, thanks for joining us. Hey, guys, everybody do us a favor. Go follow Kmart on IG. Kmart, what's your IG? Everything Kmart Senior, man. You know what I'm saying? That's Kmart Senior.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Everything IG. Twitter. Kmart Senior, baby. And you can watch him. Go ahead. Hold on. Before you go, right? Hey, K-Mart, I'm going to throw something else in on that bet.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I'm going to throw something else in there. Hey, listen. LeBron James, you know, when he hit 50,000 points, he gave me the ball. And the actual ball that went in when he hit the points, if Houston beat beat florida i see the ball i promise you put that in there so you already know how much this shit worth what you laughing at you know what i want that gold jacket that you wrote hof on that you put on the sideline. That's the job. I want that. Nah. You ain't got it no more.
Starting point is 00:15:09 I'm looking for it. That's one-on-one. I can't find it. Hey, thank you. Thanks Kmart for joining us. Everybody go follow Kmart on IG, Kenyon Martin Sr. On IG, Twitter, Facebook. You can watch him weekday on Gil's Arena. Make sure you go subscribe to Gil's
Starting point is 00:15:28 Arena. Gil is doing a great job. You guys are doing a great job over there, K-Mart. I love catching you guys from time to time. Continue success. Thanks for joining us. And don't be afraid to stop by again and join us. Hey, did you get that lookout sent you? Yes, I did. It went to the PO box and later
Starting point is 00:15:44 misplaced, but I did get it. But yes, I did. It went to the PO box and later misplaced, but I did get it. But yes, I did appreciate that. Okay. Absolutely. All right. I appreciate it, man. Thanks for joining us, K-Martin. We'll see you down the road.
Starting point is 00:15:53 All right, K-Martin. I'll let you, boy. Love. Salute. K-Martin, Kenya Martin, the last senior to be drafted number one overall in the 2000 draft, taken number one overall by the New Jersey Nets. When he was there, they went to back-to-back NBA finals. They lost to Shaq and Kobe.
Starting point is 00:16:10 They lost to the great Tim Duncan and that squad. But Kenyon Martin was a hell of a player, a tremendous defensive player. But he was also the last of their true enforcers. They don't make them like that anymore. But Kenyon couldn't fight like he could back then because they take all his money. And I know he don't want to give that up. So thanks for joining us, K-Mart. Oh, Joe, they've been a big discourse was created over the weekend when draft expert tweeted,
Starting point is 00:16:43 lots of double taps and hitches from Shador today. NFL defenders closed windows quickly. This was a concerning workout. Andre Sisco said, boy, better stop patting that ball. We're breaking all that early. But Darius Slayton jumped in and said, I promise he can pat the ball just fine if a DB was so good at breaking on the ball
Starting point is 00:17:03 and pass, they'd have eight plus picks a year. Same guys that follow the two man dagger concept and give up digs in the third and long every season. All season long talking about, boy, pat the ball, what a joke. I said the exact same thing. I said the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:17:19 What? All the experts, the DBs, they're going to drive on that. Man, listen, they're not driving on nothing. Man, stop playing. This is a timing game. It's always been a timing game. It always has been.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Quarterbacks have been patting the ball since the beginning of time. It's a part of rhythm. It's a part of rhythm throwing as well. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you pat, sometimes you don't. Sometimes the pat is for the timing of the actual throw. Waiting for the receiver to get open.
Starting point is 00:17:50 It's a part of the rhythm when you're playing. Hey, when you throw when you John Elway throw that skinny route, right? Yeah. When you hit that seven step, the ball is gone. Yes. Now play like that. There's no hitch and there's no step, the ball is gone. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Now, play like that. There's no hitch and there's no pack because the ball's coming out on time. Right. You got to dig route. You got to curl route. There's a pat on the ball. If you get to that fifth step, if you're not at your break yet, it just is. The corner route, the deep ball, when you hit that seven step, you got play. There's a pat on the ball before you release it.
Starting point is 00:18:29 You're taking five with a hitch. My point exactly. Whoever that was, for one, we talk about it in shorts, and we talk about it on air. Turn on the goddamn film. Watch all 32 NFL quarterbacks on dropback passes. You'll see all of them take hitches. You'll see all of them pat the ball.
Starting point is 00:18:50 It's a part of the game. It always has been. That's called nitpicking, trying to find something wrong to say. And then you loud and wrong. You loud and wrong. Well, hopefully everybody will get their chance to see but Ocho at this point in Juncture
Starting point is 00:19:10 everybody's trying to find fault you know he's getting his head around too quick before the break DB's gonna take key on that he's not dropping his hips or he's doing this he's tilting the route he's leaning into the route
Starting point is 00:19:25 and the db i you know i get it i get it i get it uh just for me you hold like oh sure the way i look at it game film is the most important very now if i'm looking at a game if i'm looking at a guy's game tape i'm watching now if he looks fast when he goes to the compound, I hope he runs fast. I hope he's quick. I hope he jumps high. So now that cooperates what I've seen on tape. Now, if there's
Starting point is 00:19:54 something that I see on tape that I don't see when he tests, I got to go back and evaluate, okay, did I miss something on show? What am I missing? Then, because at the end of the day, I still believe tape is the most important. And I'll give you a prime example.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Ozzy, he took Terrell Suggs. Terrell Suggs ran 4.8 with track spikes and a jock. I say, Ozzy, how do you take this man with a top 10 pick and he ran 4.8 and he look me damn bad? Turn on the film. Somebody got them 24 sacks. Somebody got the 24 sacks. He's like, son, you watching Ben the Edge? You don't understand.
Starting point is 00:20:40 I said, okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. I said, okay. Yeah. Okay, okay, okay. And look, why am I arguing with Ozzy? Look at the Hall of Famers. He's got Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Ed Reed, Suggs is going to be a Hall of Famer. Lamar Jackson is going to be a Hall of Famer.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Marsha Yonder is going to be a Hall of Famer. So, I mean, what do we do here yeah at the end of the day watch the tape do you see what what do you see on tape are there some things everybody has things that they can correct y'all make it seem like peyton and tom and everybody there's something you can get better at but to say a guy is flawless is just not true no not at all not at all you can break down people's tape right now you can break down people's tape right now
Starting point is 00:21:32 that are in the league that are some of the best at their positions right now and you can find flaws in their game absolutely all you have to do is nitpick you can nitpick on any and everybody there is always something to continue to work on no matter how long you've been playing this game because you'll never be perfect. No matter how much you strive for, you strive for perfection, you will always fall short because you're human.
Starting point is 00:21:55 And there will always be human error in everything that you do. So, listen, I understand what the guy was saying with the scout, whoever tweeted that out. I don't think they really understand the game of football in general. Before making that general statement, when all quarterbacks do this, they all do, based on the play, based on the length of the route. I mean, it made no sense. It was so funny to see Micah going back and forth and Darius Slayton talking trash. That was funny. And most of the time, the quarterback, they have the ball. How many times do you see the quarterback bring the ball up with one hand and throw it?
Starting point is 00:22:31 They bring the ball up here like this. They don't choke. Exactly. And then that rhythm throw, it's a pack and let it go. Yes. A pack and let it go. No. Just to keep the timing and continuity of the play going.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Like, you know, smoke route, a slant, quick out, you can't hit you like that. Because the damn show going the other way. It's coming out. It's coming out right away. Yeah, so you can...
Starting point is 00:22:52 And it better be early and outside, too. Yes. Yes. You're absolutely right. Because when you're throwing one, two, three, that ball's got to go.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Uh-huh. Because they're driving on that now. Yeah. And the funny thing about it, think about it, that ball's got to go. Uh-huh. Now they driving on that now. Yeah. And the funny thing about it, think about it. We talk about the good DBs in the NFL. Them first three steps, they not even looking at the receiver. They looking at the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Exactly. They looking at the quarterback. So once that arm is gone, that's why ball placing is so important because the good DBs are not even looking at the receiver until after that fourth or fifth step. That's how we get them on the sluggo because you do this. Oh, yeah. Yeah, as in the backfield, playing around.
Starting point is 00:23:33 And now they throw it over the top of your head, the sluggo round. Or they get the stutter go because you wish it and he drop his hip. Uh-huh. And the quarterback does that. Yeah. But listen. Hey, as a DB, when they double move you,
Starting point is 00:23:46 you better have hell of a hips in transition. Oh, yeah. Nah, just tackle it. You better have some beautiful hips and be able to transition. Just tackle it. Yeah, man, just tackle it.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Because what he's going to do is that he knows once you know he's beating, you start to come up, he's going to get outside. He's going to get outside your... so you might as well just say, interfere with him. I'm not giving up anything cheap or deep.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Right. But I thought he threw – look, I don't really take anything from anybody throwing the ball in shorts and thing because that's not how you play the game of football. Right. When you watch the guy in shorts, no. Is he Lamar Jackson as far as athleticism? No.
Starting point is 00:24:29 No. Does he have a Patrick Mahomes arm? No. But he has an arm that's plenty good enough. Yeah. Are you telling me that Tom Brady? Are you telling me Peyton Manning? Are you telling me Phillip Rilliver?
Starting point is 00:24:40 Are you telling me Drew Brees are more athletic than Shador? No, they're not. No. No. And they got it done. I'm not saying he's going to be any of those guys, but we're talking about just athleticism. I mean, there ain't no guy, I mean, is he accurate?
Starting point is 00:24:58 Because I've seen a lot of guys with cannons. He's not just accurate. He's insanely accurate. Exactly. Insanely. Can throw every ball. And every ball he He's insanely accurate. Exactly. Insanely. Can throw every ball. And every ball he throws is catchable. Yes. You know, they got some receivers.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I mean, they got some quarterbacks out there, you know, throughout the years now. They've thrown a very difficult ball to catch. I agree. A la number four, who your brother played for. You know, tearing people's hands up. Splitting the web of their fingers you know that i mean he he was a gunslinger that's what he was known for but you're doing extremely accurate he does a great job of throwing and has great anticipatory skills he does yes got a great job of throwing
Starting point is 00:25:38 guys open that's that's the difference between college and the NFL. Even when you think the guy isn't open, you throw him open. Guys ain't going to be running or having no 5 and 10 and 3-yard separation in the NFL. Unless there's a blown coverage, a guy falls down or something. But most of the time, you're going to have to fit a ball into a tight window. Starting point is 00:28:28 Guided by his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction, those convictions never wavered. Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali,
Starting point is 00:28:51 and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common, Will Smith, and Bob Costas. It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
Starting point is 00:29:54 In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran-Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:30:34 And also, something he doesn't get credit for. We always bring up him not being a dual threat, not being able to run, but his pocket presence. Yes. He has great pocket presence and his ability in short area quickness to be able to extend plays, not get away from people like Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen, but extend plays to make throws downfield. He's very good at that, especially if you watch. Obviously, we watched Colorado all last year, and we understand that. Despite all the sacks he took because, listen, we know one of the issues,
Starting point is 00:31:03 obviously, with him was their line. His offensive line wasn't very good. Yeah. And there ain't no way around it, Ocho. His offensive line wasn't very good. It's not like we're breaking news. You watch the game, and there's a time that he's going to have to know he's going to have to throw the ball away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:20 You're going to have to throw the ball away. You live to see another day. You don't want to take that unnecessary punishment, and you don't want to take your team out of field goal range, or you don't want to make it third and long or second and long. Hey, throw the ball away. Live to see another day. And that comes with maturity. I mean, the guy is only, what, 21, 22 years of age.
Starting point is 00:31:37 So it takes time, and he'll get better. The Peyton Manning that you saw, the great quarterbacks that you saw in the rookie season, there weren't that midway through and at the tail end of their career. They were better. You get better. You learn more. Once you come to the NFL, you start studying tape.
Starting point is 00:31:55 You start watching. You pick up things. You self-evaluate yourself. That's what the really great ones do. They self-evaluate themselves. Like, damn, that's why that mofo covered me. Damn, I tipped off this route. But think about the names that you said, the Tom Brady's, the Peyton Manning's, when they
Starting point is 00:32:11 first started, where their years weren't exceptional as opposed to how they ended up. But who would say Shador doesn't go somewhere, right? You see how he talked in that presser when he said, whoever's serious about me and wanting to franchise change a quarterback, that's who needs to sign me. Who says he doesn't come in and have a season
Starting point is 00:32:28 like C.J. Stroud did, depending on where he goes? Who's to say he doesn't come in and have a season like Jayden Daniels did with the Commanders, depending on where he goes? But what if he has that belief where his presence alone heightens everything else around him? Who the hell
Starting point is 00:32:44 knew Jayden Daniel of them go to the Commanders and turn the franchise around just like that in six months? The great quarterbacks give you hope. See their crowd go to Houston and turn the Texans around in six months. Yeah. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Ain't no telling. Ain't no telling ain't no telling what's finna happen but hey let's just give him an opportunity let's see where he goes hopefully he goes someplace and has a good offensive coordinator good head coach
Starting point is 00:33:19 have great talent around him because if you go back and look Ocho what did CJ have around him because if you go back and look, Ocho, what did CJ have around him? Nico Collins, Tank Dale, had Dalton Schultz. Nice tight end. Look at Jay Daniels.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Had nice, hey, they had Zach Ertz. They had Terry, scary Terry McLaurin. Uh-huh. Well, listen,
Starting point is 00:33:38 I like that you just broke that down. Now look at the places that he had the chance to go to. We got the Browns, right? Mm-hmm. We got Njoku. We got, to go to we got the browns right you got in joku we got my we got jerry judy we got my rock runner i'm not i'm not sure who the number two is who's the number two receiver i forget the guy i know you're talking about i i yeah he was okay uh yeah but you
Starting point is 00:33:59 know they uh once they got uh moved on from amari right um I forget the guy's name. He took over. I can't remember. I can't remember myself. But then, okay, let's say it's not Cleveland. Let's say the Giants. You got Malik Nables. Yep. And Darion, I think Slayton is still there too, right?
Starting point is 00:34:16 Didn't they retire Slayton? We got Slayton. We were just arguing with Michael Parsons. Yep. You know, come on now. Come on now. We can, we can,
Starting point is 00:34:27 we can work with that. I just think the thing is that sometimes we have false perceptions that we think the guy coming in should be a finished product and that's the best
Starting point is 00:34:35 he's going to be. And they don't realize that these guys have an opportunity to get better. That's not the best, that shouldn't be the best that they,
Starting point is 00:34:43 that they, that they are they should incrementally get better and you work at it you study you put the time in good things normally happen
Starting point is 00:34:55 so what is Elijah Moore oh Elijah Moore hey Elijah Moore I think they got him from Clemson. He can run some routes now.
Starting point is 00:35:08 He got some feet on him. Cedric Tillman. Where did Cedric Tillman come from? Tillman. I played with a guy named Cedric Tillman. He went to Alcorn State. Hey, I know Elijah Morris. Well, he can run some routes, bro.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a smaller guy. Good in the slot. But you know, Jerry Judy is tremendous in that slot. Jerry Judy. I was happy for Jerry. Yeah, he had a hell of a season. Because, look, he wasn't getting the opportunities.
Starting point is 00:35:41 They didn't have the quarterback. He grew frustrated. I think the thing is, it's easy when you're a young receiver, Ocho, to get down. Because the quarterback. He grew frustrated. I think the thing is, it's easy when you're a young receiver, Ocho, to get down. Fans start booing you. Coaches boo you. Playing time, all of a sudden, you normally play at 45 plays.
Starting point is 00:35:54 You play at 20. Well, how the hell do you expect me to show you something in 20 plays when at least five of those, the quarterback's going to get flushed. Another five, I'm not the number one option i might be i might not even be the second option i might be third option and second and two of those gonna be screened he gonna get sacked on another three so how the hell you expect me
Starting point is 00:36:14 to do something with 20 plays and i'm really only involved in about seven of them hey i'm excited. I can't wait for football season. When is the draft? The draft next week, huh? Yeah, he was there last year. Elijah Moore, he's not there anymore, Ocho. He was there last year because I remember him catching a couple of passes against the Broncos.
Starting point is 00:36:36 That's what a name. Okay. Jerry Judy, Cedric Tillman, and some guy named michael woods obviously and joke who's there yeah what okay what hell we could work with that too we good we good we could work with that shoot uh coach prime confronts the nfl scout dfcu pro day he walked up and said do what y'all do telling his kids to ignore the nfl scout i like that i think what it was like that the uh the 40 time he said look whatever you guys have been practicing do that you do that yeah don't listen to those scout coming and telling people how how to do something that
Starting point is 00:37:20 they've been training for all this time and here you go coming and changing up what they've been doing, whatever the continuity is, whatever the rhythm, however they've been training, you come and tell them to do it this way. Man, if you don't get out of the way, what are you talking about? Hey, crowd hug the line. Get as close to the line as you possibly can. Whatever the lean that your guys are talking, because you got to come to a stop.
Starting point is 00:37:44 You know, because the thing is that, you know, you're trying to get as much lean as you possibly can. Right. Hey, whatever you've been practicing for the last six to eight weeks. Right. Do that. That's what you do. Keep doing it. Hey, I mean, Scout, man, I hate when they do that, man.
Starting point is 00:38:00 They, you know, get a little power, come in there, try to abuse it. Hey, I want you to do it. No. No. Why am I going to listen to you. I just met you. And I've been training all this time, doing it a certain way. Right. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I'm feeling good tonight, bro. What else do we got? Man, y'all know how prime I am with about them kids now. Oh, yeah, he don't play. He don't play. Don't come in there mad. Listen, for one, you're already in a pressing situation. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:29 You're already in a pressing situation where you got to perform. Now, we don't need the scout coming in trying to conduct and have players do everything the exact same way. Go on about your business. Oh, Joe. Peyton Manning had a bold plan to get Joe Thomas off the Browns. Joe Thomas revealed on a recent episode of Tom
Starting point is 00:38:52 and the Hawk football show that the legendary quarterback once called him with a plan to get him cut loose from the organization. He's like, alright, here's the game plan. Go into your GM's office when he's not there, pull your pants down, and take a dump on his desk. Then they can't do anything but trade you.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Or then they can't do anything but trade you. And then you come with me, play one of the Super Bowls. Peyton, I appreciate your humor as always. I appreciate that you want me. That really gives me a lot of warm fuzzies. But I'm not going to be able to poop on my GM's desk. Hey, that's desk. Hey, that's funny.
Starting point is 00:39:28 You know where he got that story from? There was a player that actually did something very similar to that. Wait, somebody really did that in the movie? I ain't going to put it out there. Nope. Hold on. In real life? It's out there. Come on, man. In real life? Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Okay, listen. I'm not? Yep. Okay, listen. I'm not going to ask for no names. I'm not going to ask for what team. I just want to know what year. That's all. I just want to know the year. Because it couldn't have been anything in the 2000s. It's definitely could have been nothing in the 90s.
Starting point is 00:39:56 It was in the 90s. Early 90s. Yep. Okay, okay. I get it. Because back then, in the early 90s, y'all boys was wild. They was. Y'all boys was wild. And kind of it kind of it's different it's different now where the owners and the owners more more so have more control because because the money the money's a little
Starting point is 00:40:17 different yeah back then i could see it doesn't look like the to me, the players controlled the league back then? They didn't. What's it called? Well, Commissioner Tagliabue, he came in when I came in. He left when I left. 14 years, that was it. And then Roger took over. He took over for Pete Rozelle. Pete Rozelle, Tagliabue, Tags was a little bit more player-friendly.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Right. But, yeah, that definitely would have got you cut. It's all traded, Joe, if you had done that. Like I said, it actually happened. I can't picture nobody doing that, honestly. Huh? Can you imagine today's game, a player being that upset and wanting to be traded, and you go upstairs to your GM office and you take a poo-poo on his desk? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Nobody even has the you-know-what to pull that off. Oh, Joe. Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, one of the best players in franchise history, announced his retirement from the NFL. Jones, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, a two-time first-team All-Pro selection during his 13 NFL seasons. He twice led the NFL in receiving yards, 2015-2018, and he's the Falcons' all-time leader in receptions, 848,
Starting point is 00:41:39 receiving yards, 12,896, his 60 receiving touchdowns marked second in Falcons history behind Roddy White. How will you, Ocho, remember Julio? Julio's one of the best to ever play this game, man. We talk about top five. We talk about top. Listen, might be top five. Honestly, to come out of Alabama, ama man one of the greatest ever i enjoy
Starting point is 00:42:05 watching julio play somebody it's it's so funny right watching julio jones play there's a there's a young fella down in ohio state that's from miami who looks something just like oh yeah jeremiah smith who might be the second coming of julio j. But, man, Julio was awesome to watch, man, throughout his entire career. Some of the things he could do on the field. That 300-yard game he had against the Carolina Panthers was unbelievable. When he snatched that goddamn ball off the top of Luke Quigley's head that time. When he snapped that ball away from Malcolm Butler in the end zone. For that, man, there are some great highlights of Julio Jones.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Julio, I know you're going to see this, boy. I've always been a fan of yours. I've always showed you your love and gave you your flowers while you were actually still playing. I'm still a fan to this day.
Starting point is 00:42:55 You're going to get you that gold jacket because you're definitely a Hall of Famer. Oh, for sure. You top five in my book. I would have to shuffle the five around a little bit,
Starting point is 00:43:04 but you belong in it. I salute you on a great career, and that's it. He was nice, huh? Amazing career. He was nice. Consummate pro. Had a great career. I wish he could have finished his career in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Bouncing around, he went to Tennessee after he left that, right? I think he went to Tennessee. He went to, I think he went to Tennessee after he left that, right? I think he went to Tennessee. He went to Tampa, and he went to Philly. No, Philly, yeah. But, man, he had a, man, if only they could have closed out that Super Bowl. That 28-3 game? And he had an amazing catch that had him in field goal range.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And Matt Ryan took a sack. On the sideline, right? On the sideline? Yep. Woo-hoo! Hey! Woo! Ocho, Alexander Ovechkin.
Starting point is 00:44:02 Ovi. Ovi, he passed Wayne Gretzky. He passed. He broke Rayne Gretzky's record. Gretzky had a mark of 894 goals that had stood since he retired from hockey in 1999. Ovechkin scored his record-setting 895th goal in the second period against the New York Islanders in the same game. Yeah. 894 came in 1,487 games for Gretzky. 1,487 games. 895 came from Ovi.
Starting point is 00:44:32 The matchup was immediately paused, and the ceremony with Gretzky on site took place, and he commemorated the moment. Mm-hmm. Me, personally, I didn't think anybody could break this record. Right. Didn't. And it seems like he's going to be well
Starting point is 00:44:52 in the 900s because I don't think he's going to retire. I mean, you look at the guys that are close now. I don't think Sid's going to play enough games. Sid Crosby can't catch him. Maybe it's some of these what's this guy at the Edmonton Orleans? What's this guy's name? Maybe he
Starting point is 00:45:07 or the guy at Colorado. McKinnon? Yeah, McKinnon. McKinnon or God. I don't know. It slipped my mind. I watch hockey too. I don't know why it slipped my mind.
Starting point is 00:45:24 I know. He played with the Edmonton Oilers. He's... McDavid. McDavid. Conor McDavid. Conor McDavid. Conor McDavid, yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Hey, them boys good. Oh, yeah. McDavid and McKinnon. McKinnon and McDavid is like Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson. Mm-hmm. I mean, that's the only comparison I can think of in football terms. But Ovi now has the record. And I think he's only been one franchise.
Starting point is 00:45:54 He's only been with the Capitals, right? Yeah. Because Gretzky was in Edmonton and then he went to the Kings. But he brought hockey to Southern California. Hey, speaking of hockey, you ever been? No, I went to the. I went to one. Boomer told me to tell you what's up.
Starting point is 00:46:19 For real? Yeah, I saw him Saturday. Yeah, I went to a couple of Rangers games. Okay, okay, okay. I was just making sure you've been able to sit up close to the glass. Yeah, right down the Saturday. Yeah, I went to a couple of the Rangers games. Okay, okay, okay. I was just making sure. You've been able to sit up close to the glass and understand. Oh, yeah, right there on the ice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Listen, how special the game of hockey is. Now, it doesn't get the love it deserves because there's so many other sports that we have to choose from and watch. But, man, a hockey game up close. We're talking about first dates. Now, I said taking a woman to go watch NASCAR because it's different. It's something she's probably haven't done before. But watching NASCAR outside is a good date. But hockey?
Starting point is 00:46:49 And you get some tickets on the glass? Man, listen. And wear a jacket, too, because I'd be cold as hell in there. Oh, yeah, it'd be cold. Hey, no, that's the whole point, huh? You take us to a hockey game, and guess what? Now it's cold. Hey, there you go.
Starting point is 00:47:02 She want to cuddle with you. Huh? And you get smashed smashed into it is see that's why i can't take you anything ash only ash will put a beer on the wall and have them slash it to it and get everybody sprayed with beer oh joe mariah carey's 13 year old son gets embarrassed when she walked into his room here. Ocho, Mariah Carey's 13-year-old son gets embarrassed when she walked into his room and ended up
Starting point is 00:47:29 on his Twitch stream. Let's take a look. Let's take a look. Too late, bro. No, you can't say hi. Mom, stop. Why are you doing this? Hey, that's funny. I got to understand it. Listen, I don't think he understands that actually helps his Twitch stream. That man don't care nothing about that.
Starting point is 00:48:26 You know? No. You're like, come on, mom. Come on now. Yeah. And can you imagine your mom and Mariah Carey and you on Twitch and she coming in behind you? And anybody, Beyonce, Adele, whomever. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:48:42 Yes. And could you imagine a blue-eyed neat stream playing video games and stuff and Beyonce having to walk in the back? Or Jay having to walk in the back and come in the stream? Man, that would be dope. That would be dope. But you have to realize, Ocho, kids don't view their parents like the outside world views their parents.
Starting point is 00:49:01 You're right. You're just mom. You're just dad. Right. All the other fanfare that come along with it. I don't care nothing about that. Don't care nothing about it.
Starting point is 00:49:09 Right. That's funny. You ever embarrass your kids, Ocho? Uh, you know, at this point, my kids are,
Starting point is 00:49:19 they're so much older now. Now, what I will do to embarrass them, uh, graduations or stuff like that, dance recitals, cheerleading recitals, track meets. I'll be extra, extra loud on purpose in certain moments. In certain moments, just to have a little fun. But I try not to put any attention on me, especially when I go to things that they're doing.
Starting point is 00:49:46 I try to make sure it's all about them. So I do that very, very, very, very seldom. Very seldom. Titus, what's up? What? Titus, look at me. He said, I'm getting my ears cracked right now. He said, Dad been out of town.
Starting point is 00:50:00 I haven't been able to get my shine. Titus, what's up, twin? He said, I'm going to get me a profile. He said, I'm trying to develop me a profile, little chump. There you go. There you go? He said, I'm going to get me a profile. He said, I'm trying to develop me a profile, little chump. There you go. There you go. He said, I'm trying to get me a profile. How tall are you?
Starting point is 00:50:13 On my hind legs, I'm about two and a half. Okay, maybe almost three. He said, I just got a bath. I smell good. He said, what did you have today? Tell him what you had today. What did you eat today? Did you eat daddy chicken? He said, yeah, I had good. Say, what did you have today? Tell them what you had today. What did you eat today? Did you eat daddy chicken?
Starting point is 00:50:29 Say, yeah, I had chicken. Say, I love oxtails. Oxtails? Yep. I love pig ears. Say, if you go to the butcher mark, get some pig ears. I like them too. Wait, he eat all that or he just naming stuff?
Starting point is 00:50:41 No, he eat all that. Oh, he eat all that. Hey, don't talk about just naming stuff. No, he eat all that. Oh, he eat all that. Hey, don't talk about just naming stuff. No, he eat all that. But what happened to our farmers? He eat farmer's dog too. Those are treats. I mean, he'll eat big.
Starting point is 00:50:53 That's not a meal. Oh, I thought, oh, listen, you know, I don't have no animal. I thought farmer's dog. But sometimes when I don't want to be bothered
Starting point is 00:51:02 and I want to watch the game in peace, I'll give him something and let him go outside. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah. I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it. Made for This Mountain is a podcast that exists to empower listeners

Guided by his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction. Those convictions never wavered.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common, Will Smith, and Bob Costas. It created a North Star for me of how I want to be in the world, you know. As a child, as a young person, he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Listen to Ali and Me, now on Audible. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.

Starting point is 00:55:32 To hear the whole story, listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. he likes to walk too oh joe a 45 year old man filed for divorce after his wife let usher seduce her and kiss her on stage hold on i saw that husband claimed she never kissed him in public and was shocked she would kiss a complete stranger in front of 20,000 people. Ocho. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:08 In this situation, what you going to do, Ocho? What you mean? Ocho, it's entertainment. Wait, it ain't no entertainment. You ain't got no respect for me. What you talking about? You ain't got no respect for me. You already know what time it is.
Starting point is 00:56:21 But one, if Usher even come up to your lady anyway and she engaged in that type of activity knowing what time it is, you know she'll go. Honestly, to tell you the truth, 98% of women in this situation, if there wasn't 20,000 people watching, she go, it's a green light. That's just life.
Starting point is 00:56:41 That's life. That's reality. You didn't hear me just now, did you? I heard you. If she'll go, if she, if you married, and she'll do this in front of 20,000 people, imagine what she'll do if it wasn't nobody watching. Oh, man, you already do.
Starting point is 00:56:56 I already want to talk. Oh, no. Oh, come on. Hey, don't throw up. I'm just trying to give it to you. I'm trying to be brutally honest. There are certain situations. Listen to me.
Starting point is 00:57:07 People in the chat, you know, I mean, it's hard for some people to understand because most women really won't be in that situation based on who you are and based on the type of crowd that you're around. I say it all the time. There are certain men in this world, I don't care who your woman is, I don't care how loyal or faithful you think she is, there are certain men in this world. I don't care who your woman is.
Starting point is 00:57:25 I don't care how loyal or faithful you think she is. There are certain situations that can come about opportunities and circumstance that she will go depending on who it is. I'm telling you, listen to me. They can talk about that high almighty. Oh, my morality. i can't do this and uh i you know i believe in this and i believe in that and you know i'm i'm i'm faithful man piss please excuse the language excuse the language based on opportunity and circumstance depending on who it is trying to holler you're're going to go. I've seen it happen too many times, huh?
Starting point is 00:58:06 You hear me? I've seen it happen too many times. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've seen it happen too, Ocho. You ain't got to tell me. You ain't got to tell me. Listen, the greatest teacher in life is experience, huh? The greatest teacher in life is experience.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Hey, I'm one of them ones that look here. I said, look here. While you're trying to get in here, we're going to be gone tomorrow. Yeah. Don't mess that up.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Yeah. I don't know how long. I said, look, I don't know how long y'all been together. Come on now. Don't mess this up. Come on.
Starting point is 00:58:42 I said, we here for a night. We here for two nights. Come on now. This man going to be here. Don't mess this up. Come on. I say, we here for a night. We here for two nights, Ops. Come on, man. This man going to be here. Don't. Oh. He going to be all right.
Starting point is 00:58:52 All right, come on. All right, okay. Come on. You know what I mean? You'll be all right. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Starting point is 00:58:59 I did my part. I did my part. So, I tried to talk out of it. But, hey. Okay. I did my part. I did my part. I tried to talk out of it, but hey, okay. I did my part. I don't know. Now listen,
Starting point is 00:59:15 I know I said what I said, but there is a small percentage. There's a very small percentage based on belief, based on religion, the way they were raised, their moral compass. They won't. But 98%. There's a very, very large percentage.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Yeah. You know? They're from Google. Listen, let me tell you something. I know people in the chat, they're not going to listen to me. The one percenters in the world, the one percenters, they're going to go now. Yeah. I ain't going to lie to you. And then you got that next
Starting point is 00:59:50 upper echelon. You got the billionaires. They take their picking. And they keep on ticking. Ain't too many people telling them no. I just think the thing is Ocho for blood. I'll be honest with him i'm
Starting point is 01:00:07 saying look yeah hey i mean i don't know how i don't know your situation i don't right but i'm saying y'all came together i saw y'all you hugged up and somehow you made it over here now look we come on now you know who we are, you know who we are. You know who we are. We don't know you. And the likelihood, we probably ain't coming back here ever again. And don't do your man like that. Don't leave him.
Starting point is 01:00:38 But after she said, don't worry about it, what I'm supposed to do, Ocho? Oh, yeah. At that point in time, hey, slide on, bro. Yeah. Hey, you just said forget it, hey, slide over, bro. Yeah. Hey, you just said forget it, huh? Ocho, I'm answering to my friend. I'm going to be honest. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Ocho, why you trying to steal my shine? Won't you go to Ocho? I will send you to Ocho. Come on. Hey, send him on over here. Send him over here. He said, hey. He said, I'm a chick magnet. He said, can I pet him? No.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Yeah. Unless you got a dog, unless you got a female dog with you, you can't pet me. Yeah. He said, nah. He said, you ain't got no female dog with you? Nah. He said, if you got a male dog, we fighting. But where you think you going? I love you too, buddy.
Starting point is 01:01:31 What's wrong with your bedtime? Chad, Chad, Chad. Oh, yeah. I like that. I see you. Chad. Hey, you hear Ocho? You want to go play with Ocho? You wanna go play with Ocho?
Starting point is 01:01:48 Yeah Sit him Sit him on down here With your boy man Hey Sit him on down here With your boy You wanna go with Ocho?
Starting point is 01:01:54 You wanna go with Ocho? Huh? Hey Go get on your spot Go get on your spot Go Spot I'm almost done Hey hey go get on your spot go get on your spot go spot I'm almost done
Starting point is 01:02:09 spot but that happens on so many occasions so many occasions at times women not normally thinking things through. And they're willing.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Yeah, don't throw this away. Don't throw this away. But, Ocho, I'll tell you what I did. I don't say no name, but I have a situation. I have a homeboy. We was in Vegas. It was me. One, two, three.
Starting point is 01:02:43 It was four of us. We all hung together take your time now so we go we we uh we had uh we're in vegas and i forget where we were and he uh these young ladies come in they sit down they start talking don't nobody know nobody we talk right homeboy leno to me I'ma marry that girl What? Just like that? Ten minutes into the conversation
Starting point is 01:03:13 I'ma marry her I look at it Other two look at it like Nah, you play it So You know, we go out until, you know, when you go to Vegas, you ain't got no tag along.
Starting point is 01:03:30 No, she can't come. Three months later, they were married. What? Hold on, hold on, hold on. Bring that to, bring it, bring, bring that back to me one more time. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Bring that to me one more time. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:03:52 As a matter of fact, it's 20-2004. Right. They say they can't hear me. Can you guys hear me now? Is this better? Huh? Okay. And so, Ocho,
Starting point is 01:04:08 we go to Vegas. It's four guys. Me and three of my partners. We at one of these casinos. I forget it was. Maybe it was MGM or the Bellagio. Might have been a Venetian. But anyway, these
Starting point is 01:04:23 ladies come up, start talking. They're nice looking ladies I mean hey I ain't gonna say no no it wasn't no Houston talent I'm saying but you know it's you know okay
Starting point is 01:04:35 so we talking yeah you know what you do I mean such and such blah blah blah he leans in I'ma marry her look he's just right there on right there on the spot yes yes i said
Starting point is 01:04:50 you know hey yeah you know you're hey hey oh joe you know how it is when you try to you know you try to make a move you laugh a lot of things that you don't really mean right hey hey you know hey we going to bore bore but we going to you know morphe coach you know you say something anything so i'm thinking i'm thinking he just said you know to try to make a play right but he tell my other partners yeah i'm gonna marry her i'll say so what did she what did she do i don't know what she did we just just met him. But she was a nice looking chick. But anyway, Ochoa, so she was, hey, no, she can't go. She can't tag along with us, you know.
Starting point is 01:05:32 But anyway, he's like, he hang with us for like a couple, then he, three months later, they married. Damn! You see, I love a young fella like that See that's what I call being intentional See when I move right I move with intent I know exactly what I want I say what I'm going to do and I execute said plan
Starting point is 01:05:57 Right Now what did I tell you was going to happen in 2026 I'm getting what I thought I was supposed to be somewhere In February of 25. I just bought a ticket. I want a refund. You can get your refund and you get your $5,200.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Now, that didn't work out for February. But I tell you, what's finna work out, though? God had different plans. Huh? You need to spend the block. Shit. Spend who? Hey, hold on. Can you hear me real quick? Can you hear me? I hear you. The who? Hey, the car, hey, the car, hey, hold on. Can you hear me real quick?
Starting point is 01:06:26 Can you hear me? I can hear you. The car I got, it only goes straight. It don't go left or right and it don't turn around. I got a singular focus and it's headed that way.
Starting point is 01:06:36 You hear me? 2026. I think you're making a mistake. I think I'm not You hear me? I think I'm not In 2026 I'm walking down that aisle
Starting point is 01:06:54 Period Oh Lord have mercy I'm just telling you Don't worry about it Chad I'm going to get to him I'm going to talk to him I'm going to talk to him Now you know
Starting point is 01:07:04 Sometimes Ocho Sometimes Ocho can be irrational. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. One thing I'm not is I'm not irrational. Everything I do is thought out very well. I'm very strategic in all that I do. I'm very methodical in the way that I plan things. Okay? You hear me?
Starting point is 01:07:21 Yes. Everything I do, it takes careful thought, and I think it out. I don't think short-term. I think long-term. But before I execute that plan long-term, I think about the short-term goals and the way I'm going to execute and make things work. Okay. You hear me? I know I play around a lot.
Starting point is 01:07:39 I know I laugh a lot. But I'm very strategic, huh? You hear me? Yeah. I'm very strategic huh you hear me yeah I'm very intentional in all that I do okay yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:07:52 and I mean well that's that's why that's why I don't I don't feel bad about some of the things I do because everything I do is with good intention
Starting point is 01:08:00 from the heart with love. Why you laughing at me? This man say everything I do is with good intention. For you or for everybody involved. No, no, no. The funny thing about it is everything I do,
Starting point is 01:08:19 I put everyone else before me. Let's start there. I put everybody else before me. Let's start there. I put everybody else before me. And I work through that. I feel good. Oh, Joe, and no, they're not still married. That is the latest of the year. A year?
Starting point is 01:08:37 Yeah. Damn. Yeah. But he ain't, okay, well. Well. wait he he ain't okay well well it's all good bad looking bad you know what I should write a book
Starting point is 01:08:54 to tell some of the stories hey that'd be a good one but you can't you gotta change the names oh yeah change the names I definitely gotta
Starting point is 01:09:02 change the names listen I still wanna know I wanna know who shitting on the GM table. I'm for real. I want to know. Listen, there's only a few players in the history of the game that can pull that off where there's really nothing few players in the history of the game that can pull that off where there's really no,
Starting point is 01:09:25 um, there's really nothing the gym can say because they are the main focal point of said team. So I don't know. It had, it had to be somebody. And then, you know what? It gotta be a decent,
Starting point is 01:09:36 a defensive player too. Yeah. But, uh, nah, you know, something, like I said,
Starting point is 01:09:42 my casket, you don't need a forklift to carry my casket. Cause I'm taking a lot of secrets to my grave. So my casket is going to be really heavy. Yeah. Something you just die with. Yeah. You just take that.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Right. For me, it ain't worth it. It's not even worth it. There's not amount of money. OK, you give me two, three million dollars, New York Times. It will be a New York Times bestseller. Absolutely. It ain't worth it. It's not even worth it.
Starting point is 01:10:10 I mean, the stories that are from the place that we've been. Yeah. There's some good ones. You hear me? There's some good ones. Ooh. All I just, hey, listen just god just just lay your hand on me that's all because i'm a chain i'm a changed man i'm a changed man i think i didn't got baptized again because the last one was wearing off i'm walking with faith one foot in front of the other i got my head high so I can see where I'm going.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Yeah, I mean, she wrong for that. I mean, you married and you out there doing a situation like that, you know you can't kiss no man. You married. You can't even, I mean, you got, when you married, you have to move a certain way. Move a certain way. Because I move a certain way. I don't
Starting point is 01:11:04 do all that. You married, all that flirtation stuff, I don't get down like that. Because I don't want you, because look, and this is what I tell people, is that look, oh, I say, you have to understand, I'm just not some willy-nilly guy. Say it again. Matter of fact, whatever you say right now,
Starting point is 01:11:22 say it slow. I tell people that before we get involved, I say, well, I used to. I say, look, can you do me a favor? Do not mention me. Oh, why? I say, because I'm not some willy-nilly guy. Come on now. He's going to feel some type of way.
Starting point is 01:11:40 He's going to think I'm trying to big-time him, or he's going to think you were seeing me while you was seeing him and I don't need that cause it wasn't that when when you free from him we can talk
Starting point is 01:11:58 but I don't wanna get down like that Ocho listen they play this game They play this game, man. They play this game. So whatever she was doing, whatever she did, when the opportunity, again, this is an opportunity, right? Right. Based on circumstances.
Starting point is 01:12:15 You see how the opportunity presented itself and the circumstances when I have a chance to engage with Usher at a concert. And what does she do with that opportunity? She took the chance. Yeah. So now you ruin the marriage, and you already know. So you're conducting yourself... And you're not going to marry Usher because he already married. Listen. Bingo.
Starting point is 01:12:38 She's about to pull a David Ruffin. Man, please. Listen. Listen. You're supposed to move the same way when you're single the same way you move as a wife there's no switch there's no switch that you hit on and all of a sudden you put a ring on your finger or you walk down the aisle and then all of a sudden you different however you move when you're single is how you're going to move when you're married or when you're in a relationship.
Starting point is 01:13:08 If a certain opportunity presents itself, you're still going to do the same exact thing you would do if you were single. Nothing changes. It's not all of a sudden your human morale kicks in and you're just this different person. It just doesn't.
Starting point is 01:13:25 Hey, Ocho, I saw a thing from Ruby Rose today. She said that she tell a guy that she's getting her hair done and he doesn't ask how much it costs. It ain't gonna last long. Wait, hold on. This is the same Ruby Rose that said her dude had to make five
Starting point is 01:13:40 million dollars a year? Listen, listen, you hopefully, when the tooth fair when your tooth come out hopefully you hope the tooth fairy leave a doll under your pillow hopefully now women can hope women can have beliefs women can have prerequisites and they can have wants the chance of actually getting some of them that you say is slim none because when you get when you go into that pool oh stay with me real quick now stay with me now chat y'all stay with me real quick when you go into that pool of wanting men that make five million dollars or more you got to understand your chances you have to
Starting point is 01:14:16 look at yourself and you have to look at the pool of women you got to deal with to be the main one to be able to get taken care of to be a part of that rotation of a man that makes $5 million or more. You get where I'm going with it? I don't want to break it all the way down. Yeah, but I know there's... I just want delusion. I want you to lose delusion. Lose that part.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Once a guy gets to a level financially, there is more of you than there are of him. Man. So his selection pool is greater than yours. Now, what you need to do, what you're not going to do on this good Sunday is, listen, I'm not saying you're a DJ, but you need to bring that back. Hold on. Hold on. You need to bring that back. Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:15:06 You need to bring that back. Yes. Let me give him a pen and pad. Boy. What are you cooking? Come on, chef. It is. Bring that back one more time.
Starting point is 01:15:17 Once you get to a certain level of financially. Right. And women know this. Women know that there are more of them than there are of you. Because the likelihood of you finding me, I mean, once you reach a certain level
Starting point is 01:15:38 of financial, you start, okay, you hit a million. You hit five, you hit 10, you hit 15, 20. There ain't a whole lot of people making five, 10, 15, 20 million. Oh, it's very small. How many beautiful women you think they are? Let's just take a state like California where there's 40 million people. Or you take a state like Texas.
Starting point is 01:15:56 They got 27, 28 million people. Or you take Florida or you take New York or you take Georgia. There is more beautiful women in the state of Texas alone than people that make $20 million a year. And then you got two things working against you, women. I call them the two ends. You need it and you're nasty you want stuff but you want to talk to somebody i ain't gonna fit it good oh joey i ain't gonna do this tonight come on don't stop preaching don't stop preaching you're good but
Starting point is 01:16:37 listen if ruby rose want to do that make more than five million if she want to get her done and she has a guy that will fund her getting her hair, that's fine. But you know what the funny thing about it? This is what I love about women. This is what I love about women, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of prerequisites, regardless of what they want. Whatever they demand or whatever they say they want out of a guy, there will always be a dude willing to do it. There will always be a sucker. You hear me? And I mean that in not a disrespectful way, in not a disrespectful manner.
Starting point is 01:17:05 But whatever their wants are, there will always be a sucker. You hear me? And I mean that in not a disrespectful way, in not a disrespectful manner, but whatever their wants are, there will always be a sucker willing to do it. But what happens? Let's just say for the sake of argument, Ocho. Okay, she meets that guy that he makes $5 million.
Starting point is 01:17:15 What happens to the next, what happens when the guy that comes along that makes $10 or $15 million? Oh, she gonna go. She gonna go. She gonna go. Unc, that's the game. That's always been the game huh what's the first thing women say when they leave one guy and they go to the next one oh i gotta do it with a
Starting point is 01:17:34 bigger bag oh i gotta he got more money than you and guess what well yeah and guess what the guy with the bigger bag he got a bigger roster, too. Are you a starter or are you coming off the bench? Coming off the bench. You might be in the G League. Now you got nothing to do with it. Coming off. Now you don't even go there, Ocho. Let's just.
Starting point is 01:17:54 Hold on. A bigger bag. Say, wait, one more time. Bring it back for me one more time now. You went to the duel with the bigger bag, but are you on the bench or you're what? You might be in the G League. Damn the bench. He might call you up when one of the players that he got on the roster
Starting point is 01:18:12 when they really not performing. So she might be a two-way player. Hey, but they love the boasting. They love the boasting brag. I got the one with the – I'm so glad i'm at the game i'm glad i'm off the market man i ain't got to deal with these games no more you know i ain't got to deal with these games no more y'all have fun i just i enjoy talking about it you know just through through experience and in my time you know in the field i'm at the playing field i'm waving the white
Starting point is 01:18:43 i ain't got no white flag. I'm waving my white flag. Starting point is 01:22:15 In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask... I'm Leon Nafak, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran-Contra,
Starting point is 01:22:53 you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. Wait, where we going? We leaving already? No, we got a Q&A. Hey, this shit was good tonight.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Boy, this is a good one, boy. Shoot. Shout out. Happy birthday, Big Bro Sterling. And to me, number 44, Ocho, I saw clips on IG today playing tennis. Are you good enough to go against Serena or Roger Federer? Yes, today is my brother's. He turned 60 today. Hey!
Starting point is 01:23:48 Happy birthday. I called him earlier this morning and he was up. So happy birthday, big bro. You know I love you to the moon and back, stars and back, infinity and beyond. I really appreciate everything that you've done for me and my life. The way you've done
Starting point is 01:24:03 represented this family extremely well. So thank you very, very much. And happy birthday to you, Tyra. Happy 44th. And hopefully you have many more to come. Ocho, could you beat Serena or Federer? Absolutely not. Listen, even Serena. Chad, did y'all hear that?
Starting point is 01:24:20 This is the first time Ocho have actually said he couldn't beat the pro at their chosen profession. Yeah, I'm not going to play around as good as I am at tennis. This time, I'm going to sit this one out and be realistic. Even Serena.
Starting point is 01:24:36 Matter of fact, there's some women right now on tour that I probably couldn't be right now, even as athletic and as good as I am at tennis. I definitely ain't beating none of the men. Oh, no, you're not going to return their serve. Why was I just getting ready to say that? The hand-eye coordination that I would need
Starting point is 01:24:52 and being able to recognize the ball at that speed, that starts from four years old, just years and years. I wouldn't be able to do it. I wouldn't be able to do it. And I can hit back and forth with them at a good speed and a good rate, but the consistency to be able to do it at their level, I just wouldn't be able to do it. I wouldn't be able to do it. And I can hit back and forth with them at a good speed and a good rate, but the consistency to be able to do it at their level,
Starting point is 01:25:08 I just wouldn't be able to do it. And I'm being honest. I'm being honest. XXX, Copsanity said, OKC, can see, Ocho can see, we all can see. Lakers in five. RIS Brandon, Ali Sheik five. RIS Brandon Ali Sheik said, RIS GPS CBS.
Starting point is 01:25:30 Lakers in five. Man, Ocho at the airport in D.C. Yeah. Man, Ocho, the whole airport was saying Lakers in five. For real? I'm talking about the entire airport. I'm signing.
Starting point is 01:25:48 Man, Ocho, I'm signing. I'm at this card, this memorabilia show. Ocho, I'm signing. Sergio Barca, Chewbacca, Walker Flock. Lakers in five. People actually got me signing memorabilia with Lakers in five on it. Hey, that's funny. Convo starters.
Starting point is 01:26:06 I got one up. SGA, ABA, Morris Day. My question, if you could play on any team in this era, where y'all going? Ocho, who you gonna play with? Well, you know, I'm going to Cincinnati. I'm going to Cincinnati. Listen, with these
Starting point is 01:26:22 relaxed rules, with the defensive rules where they can't touch you the way they can now, you take me, that's a good choice. Listen, with these relaxed rules, with the defensive rules, where they can't touch you the way they can now, you take me, that 0-4, 0-5, 0-6, 0-7, 0-8, Ocho, in today's era, with the way they play defense and they can't hit you, man, just stop playing. Boy, I'd be out here going dummy and hockey. I'm going my home, boy. Hey, Trav, we're going to be in a lot of double tight ends.
Starting point is 01:26:51 I'm going with my own boy. Off underscore J said, oh, please write down for tomorrow. OKC, Fruit Punch, High C, John Cena, Only Man I Can't See. Legos in five. Casey Taylor said, dunking on SGA, facing the Tigers in the PGA, tackling Herschel at UGA. Lakers in five.
Starting point is 01:27:12 We need number 18, mamba mentality. We do. Kavarius Dorsey said, hey, when you was on Undisputed during time when Russell Westbrook was on the Lakers, whose idea was it to do those blooper reels showcasing this turnover than any bad shot?
Starting point is 01:27:28 Bro, I ain't calling for no bro. I don't really call for no highlights. Right. Y'all saw, y'all watched the game. So what I need to call for the highlights for? Senator Braun said, I think Commissioner Adam Silver should look to move Memphis Grizzlies
Starting point is 01:27:46 out of Memphis why? they sell out you know you do realize the Grizzlies came from Vancouver so they moved to Memphis Memphis put up the money I mean
Starting point is 01:27:59 I don't think they should move it I think the Grizzlies fans I think they support their team they're kind of excuse me they've kind of fallen on hard times excuse me you know
Starting point is 01:28:11 last couple of games they haven't played well but John hit a excuse me a game winning shot the other night against the Pelicans right now who did he hit that shot against
Starting point is 01:28:20 the Heat the Heat hit that shot against the Heat but John just needs to be able to stay healthy. That little floater? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:26 That little floater was nice, boy. That step back. Jar just needs to stay healthy. They got a nice little squad. I think they need another piece. I'm right here. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:28:35 I don't think they can win a championship with that core group. I'm right here. No. Sir Kate. What's up, guys? I see a lot of potential in shallow in his game but his name
Starting point is 01:28:48 is not standing out when it comes to top defenders in the draft where do you see him landing what is his ceiling and what can he improve i mean you don't know you don't know where anybody's ceiling is going to be especially going to the draft you know it's one thing going to the draft regardless of where you go it's what you do once you get there and being able to improve on your game once you do get there. Where you go matters a lot. It absolutely does. I think for a defender, not as much as an offensive player, you know, I always looked at it like, I don't care where the hell I'm going. I'm going to make whoever job, whoever my coach may be, I'm going to make your job as easy as possible because I'm going to make sure I'm on my shit.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Someone is going to keep their job a lot longer because they're going to ask, who are the scouts that found Shannon Sharp? Who recommended, who pitched Dan Reed that they should sign Shannon Sharp? Come on, Dan. All I wanted, I remember, I told you I remember it like yesterday
Starting point is 01:29:45 because back then the draft used to come on Sundays. They had the first two rounds on Sunday and then they had the rest of the draft because it was 12 rounds was on Monday.
Starting point is 01:29:56 Hey, I don't know what to tell him, Ocho. I remember my brother coming to my room and saying, hey bro, we're going to be okay.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Hey, you know I got to hold it down. I said, Spank, all I want is somebody to give me a chance. I said, all I want somebody to do is give me a helmet and a pair of shoulder pads. That's all I ask. Right. They give me that, I'll take care of the rest.
Starting point is 01:30:17 He said, nah, bro, we don't even worry about that. Hey, get you a good night's sleep. I said, all right. Went to bed that night, woke up that morning, I said, man, bro, let's go get us a workout in. Lo and behold, phone rang. Shark, telephone. Like, who the hell know I'm here?
Starting point is 01:30:37 Dan Reed, hey, we took you in the seventh round. Yeah. You happy to be abroad? I said, coach, you won't regret it. He said, hey. Hey, had the plane ticket at the airport went out there i'm looking around all she wrote man please well i ain't going back so i don't know what y'all thinking i ain't going back you know we get out there because you know back there oh you go right away you have a little you
Starting point is 01:31:03 know little minute you know man them guys going hey go right away. You have a little minute, you know. Man, them guys going. Hey, they come in. They going out. Man, you going? No. I say, bro, Mary Point didn't send me to come party. I'm coming to make this damn team.
Starting point is 01:31:17 That's it? I'm coming to make this team, bro. That's it? Spend the seventh round? Seventh. Well, you know, that ain't promised now. Hell no. I know they try to use me as a camp body.
Starting point is 01:31:28 No. I told my brother, all I want is the helmet and a pair of shoulder pads. Hell, I brought my own cleats from Savannah State. Just give me the helmet and the shoulder pads.
Starting point is 01:31:36 So I look like the other motherfuckers. Like the other motherfuckers. So you're going to take the other refs? That's all I needed. Yeah. Boy, look here. I was playing with them folks, Ocho. so you're going to take the NRS that's all I needed yeah boy look here
Starting point is 01:31:46 I was playing with them folks Ocho and I knew once I made it my rookie year it was a wrap I got to grasp how I needed to train during the season what I needed to do how attentive I needed to be
Starting point is 01:32:02 once I got it down and I understood, like, if I'm the, you know, Y tight end, well, the tight end was X back then.
Starting point is 01:32:14 If I'm him or if I'm the, you know, the move tight end, boy, it was over. The worst thing you could do is let somebody
Starting point is 01:32:24 with my God-given athletic ability know what the hell he's supposed to do because it's all over it was over dr frankie bellamy said i hope everyone voted for unking club shayshay and nightcap are nominated for multiple webby awards please go vote thank you doc oh if there was a fire and you could only save one pair, which sneakers are you grabbing with no hesitation? Starting point is 01:34:23 save you yes yes yes yes I'm going to save you. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm going to save this big old boy. He's going to be the first thing I... Well, I'm going to grab Teddy Bear. You will follow me out of the house.
Starting point is 01:34:35 Teddy Bear might go try to get a toy. Yeah. Ochoa, if you're out of the house, tell me what you're going to save. Ochoa, what you're going to get? In the house... Oh, I'm grabbing a picture. Uh, yeah. Ochoa, if you don't have a camera, what you gonna save? Ochoa, what you gonna get? Um, in the house. Oh, I'm grabbing a picture. I'm grabbing my grandma picture off the wall. Me and my brother and my grandma.
Starting point is 01:34:53 I'm grabbing that. Damn the rest of the stuff. Damn the watches, this jewelry. I don't care. I'm grabbing that picture. And I got a picture in my range, Ochoa, over my visor. It's her.
Starting point is 01:35:07 Actually, we buried her in that outfit. Pink hat on. I'm getting that picture. As a matter of fact, I ain't saving nothing else. I'm going to close the garage. You know what's funny? I ain't really got nothing here because I'm at the little apartment. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:28 And, um... I get you have to run in there and say you know who. But that's okay. We ain't gonna talk about that. Bad dog. Bad dog saying, oh, do you remember all the breeds of dogs you ever had? Would you ever consider having a Japanese
Starting point is 01:35:44 Tosa? I do. My grandmother had a Beagle. Come on, so much. Had a German Shepherd. We had a Mutt. I've owned two Rottweilers. I've had an Akita.
Starting point is 01:36:10 I've had palms, three palms, two Bullmasters, and now a Boar Bull. My uncle and my grandfather and them had hunting dogs. Had a Blue Tick, a Red Bone, a Black and Tan Coon dogs. So they had hunting dogs. But no, now I'm only a small dog guy. I like paws. Even though this joke over here, I mean,
Starting point is 01:36:31 they love me. The big dogs love you, but with their handful, this joke a handful here. Because he don't play. And everybody's scared of him. And I don't like that, having to put him up when they come, but, you know, it is what it is.
Starting point is 01:36:51 No, but Japanese toasts, they're too big. Kangol's, you know, alibi. They're too big, and they share too much.
