Do you know how difficult it is to find a woman that's willing to extend themselves in that manner? In that manner, let alone the small things? But if you think about it today, in today's era, in today's society, everything is on us. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Think about it now. Everything is on us. Everything. We have to do everything. You got to court, you got to buy, you got to do this. And if they do buy you something, it's probably your money anyway.
Starting point is 00:04:04 True. You know? So the fact that she you got to do this and if they do buy you something it's probably your money anyway true you know so the fact that she was willing to do this out of maybe love or whatever it may have may have been at that time it gotta be love what else could it have been yeah yeah who the hell giving sixty thousand dollars that don't love the funny thing about it is when you're in love you do things that you wouldn't do when you're not in love. Because you're thinking in your right mind. Nah, they say love is blinding. I ain't got no cataracts. I can see just fine. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:04:33 60,000, Ocho. So you wouldn't do that? Be honest. Yeah, my brother. If you was in love with a woman right now, you would tell her no. I ain't paying no $60,000 on her shit. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I just said, you didn't listen to the scenario. If you were in love... Mm-mm. No, Ocho, that's my... My wife is one thing. A girlfriend? Right. $60,000? Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Girlfriend and wife, the rules are basically the same. The only thing that's different is the document in the ring. You know what happened? Because when they broke up and she left the place, he beating somebody else back in. Now, guess what? I paid for those loans. I'm paying that loan off if somebody got a bent over the balcony.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Oh, hey. Oh, hell no. me oh hey come on oh joe well let me tell you listen i had i had a i had i had a wonderful beautiful saying i've been saying all my life what would you have to understand now i i think we are put on earth to experience people we're put on earth to experience people and at times my grandfather told me long time ago son listen you're going to meet people and i want you to always remember she's not yours it's just your turn yeah she's not yours you're just a turn So you really can't think like that. Now, for me, for instance, you do things to extend that vacation. You do all the right things you can to extend that vacation and that stay as much as possible.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And you do all you can to keep an individual happy so it maintains itself long term look i think the thing is ocho for a situation like yourself me or yourself yes 60 grand that's a lot of money but i'm not gonna i ain't gonna lose a night of sleep 60 grand for her is probably like i ain't gonna say what it would be okay okay okay okay i see what you mean. Yes, sir. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. $60,000 is different for different people. Right. For her, that is a stretch. Right. I'm not losing sleep over $60,000.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Right. That's how you know it was love. Right. But the problem is, Ocho, is that, like I said, look, have I, look, if I care about you, I want what's best for you. I don't want even most of the women that I've dated. And they'll tell you this, all of them.
Starting point is 00:07:11 If they've ever asked me for something and I could do it, take off. Whoa, whoa. Now, we're in reason now. Whoa. We're in reason. OK, I was waiting on that part. OK, I was waiting on that.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Because look, now, a lot of times I've been in situations and they've always did me a solid. They didn't say anything negative about me, didn't say anything bad. So they always, in my book, they could always be, hey, Shannon, I need X.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Okay, I got you. Shannon, I need Y. Because I i'm never gonna say anything bad about you no matter what has transpired behind closed doors that's why i don't do anything publicly because i can break up privately i can get with someone privately but if i break it but if i date publicly if i'm posting i'm doing all this the moment then people start to try to fish and try to figure things out but any any any woman that I've dated say in the last 30 years if they've ever asked for something monetarily and I could help them I did okay okay yeah I like I like how you said within reason I like how you threw that, you know, because sometimes they continue to take and take
Starting point is 00:08:28 and take and take and push the limits to see how far they can go. No, I mean, I had one did me one solid. I ain't gonna tell y'all what the solid is, but when it came down, she said, well, Shannon, I need a house. I don't have it down. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Man, come on now.
Starting point is 00:08:44 You said that a little too casually. Listen to me, Ocho. You said that too casually. She did me a solid. I'll be the real solid. Your boy was jammed up. OK, OK, OK. I was in a bind.
Starting point is 00:08:56 OK, OK. I said, I'll tell you what. In this situation, she could have came to me and got $60,000. Right. She could have came to me and got $60,000. She could have came to me and got $100,000. Right, right, right. But she didn't do that. Right. You say, I just need the down payment.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I say, well, how much is the down payment? She said, X. I said, if I give you Y, how much would your monthly payments be? Because I want it to be as easy as it possibly can. So I tried to make it as easy as I possibly could. So her monthly payments would be something that she could manage where she wouldn't have to come back because I was in no position. I would have had no choice.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Consider what she did for me. Right. Okay. I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that.
Starting point is 00:09:42 I understand wholeheartedly understand where you coming from yeah based on based on circumstance i like that i like that but you're you're real i'm look here you're real all you if you if you ever any of my coaches my coach my college my high school coach i bought him a car my uh uh my my my uh remedial and Spanish teacher, every game, she didn't want anything. She'd say, Shannon, I just want to come see you play. I'm just so proud of you. But women that have been in my life that have been good and didn't try to harm – because, you know, everybody ain't good.
Starting point is 00:10:18 But if they've been good, they know they can get it. And I don't want nothing in return. It ain't no, oh, you getting the good – no, want nothing to return it ain't no oh you getting the good no no no I ain't spunt the block I have yeah what why you do you
Starting point is 00:10:37 okay but she did a what for what she did for me like I know Joe oh yeah I understand you ain't got you listen you ain't got to go in depth I get from the passion and For what she did for me? Like I said, Ocho. Oh, yeah. I understand. Listen, you ain't even got to go in depth. From the passion and your passion and your delivery, I already know I'm with you. And didn't bat an eye.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Yeah, I'm with you. I've been in that situation maybe once. Yeah. Little did she know, they're out of both the house. Yep. Why you bull jiving because I was in a position then now
Starting point is 00:11:10 oh she could have said I need $300,000 for a house I'm like can I give you the money and I just pay the note on it right right right my financial people go be asking some questions I go pull $300,000 out of this
Starting point is 00:11:26 account but what if I gave you $100,000 and I just paid a note on it I give you the money to pay the note but hey hey the thing we do Ocho if you look at me chat
Starting point is 00:11:42 I keep a stack with you women that have ever dealt with me If you look at me, Chad, I'll keep a stack with you. Women that have ever dealt with me. I got one simple thing. Protect the brand. Yeah. You protect the brand. I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I like that. Don't talk about me. We do what we do. Did what we did. Leave it at that. That's why people don't know. Man, I didn't know. You weren't supposed to know.
Starting point is 00:12:16 The less they know, the less people can talk. Now they can gossip and it's easier for you to lie. Yeah. Protect the brand, Rel. Protect the brand. And I ain't sleeping on the motherfucking couch no more. Ain't this it, man? Tried to put me on the goddamn couch.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Shoot. She put you on the couch? She tried. She tried. I just slept on the floor right there by the bed. Who takes a job and you still trying to figure it out six months later how much i'm gonna pay you i don't know i'm just telling you i'm just telling you if i was an issue chad chad i mean am i out of line here i'm like i'm trying
Starting point is 00:12:59 to figure this out so hold on when did harvard get the job when did harvard get the job at uh said at the Chargers? Because maybe it's me. Maybe it's me. Maybe it's me. Maybe it's me, guys. Because, you know, sometimes I have a propensity. Harbaugh got a job January 24th.
Starting point is 00:13:20 When was Jerome Moore named head coach at Michigan? He was named head coach January 26th. So February, March, April, May, June, July, August. Here we are in September. So we've had eight months. Okay. You know who else doesn't have a contract that is deserving for the work he's put in and going to put in? Jamar Chase.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Who? Jamar Chase has a contract, Ocho. He got two years left on the contract he signed. It's not enough. That's not comparable. It's not enough. No, Ocho, but you said he doesn't have a contract. He actually does have a contract. He has two years left on the contract that he signed on his rookie deal.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Sherron Moore does not have a contract at all, period. No contract. They're trying to work out terms. They're trying to come to an agreement so the man was an intern how many games did harbaugh miss three four so he missed three games so you saw him intern he kept the ship afloat he was your oc called a national championship game you won that game you name him head coach on january the 26th and you didn't work out a deal in february march april may june july august here we are in september they would do that they know what
Starting point is 00:14:53 they did they never does something else is going on that we don't know about i don't know what's going on but i just know the other i know i know other coaches don't have to go through that okay i don't i don't want to make any speculations i do maybe it's me maybe it's maybe maybe maybe maybe it's me maybe it's me maybe it's me maybe i uh who's that you know who the athletic is at michigan because we could always send him a little message i just i just thought right someone starts a job you have to agree with. Okay, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Yes! Who takes a job and like, okay... Whoa, this ain't just any job now. So, let's try this. Put yourself in Mr. Moore's shoes. If you were in his shoes are you not taking the Michigan job
Starting point is 00:15:45 because a contract has not been fulfilled yet? The contract, Ocho, the contract is worked out before you take the job. Okay, but this one hasn't been worked out. Are you going to say, no, I don't want to coach for Michigan because the contract hasn't been worked out? I just want to see. I'm just asking. Are you not going to take the job because the contract hasn't been done yet?
Starting point is 00:16:10 The contract would have been done. First of all, the contract is going to be done before you take the job. Who takes the job with no contract? So you're saying you wouldn't take it? Ocho, the contract would have been done before you signed. If you were in his shoes with the opportunity
Starting point is 00:16:32 that is presenting itself to coach the Michigan Wolverines and it wasn't in place, would you take it or not? You would say no because... My agent would never let me take a job in which the contract would not contract was done. Oh, Joe. Okay. That'll be like that'll be like you said, you know
Starting point is 00:16:56 what? I'm gonna get mad with no prenup worked out. We gonna work on it at a later date and time you doing that? Me? You talking to me? Yeah, but but see, my situation when it comes to that using, I mean, for better context prenup rail says okay ocho we gonna get mad we gonna work out the contract we gonna work out the
Starting point is 00:17:33 prenup you like okay rail we can work out the prenup at a later date and time whatever we gonna do we gonna work out that at a later date and time and here we are eight months so you y'all been there three and a half, four years. And so now because Jerome Morris been there for a minute, he's been the OC. And so now, eight months until your marriage, ain't nothing been signed, ain't nothing been settled. That's me doing that.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Because I'm going to make sure if she try to leave me, I'm going, I'm leaving with half. I ain't signing shit. That's between I get what you're saying. Like I said, this shit. That's between... I get what you're saying. Like I said, Chapman, it's me. This ain't no regular program. This ain't just no regular job.
Starting point is 00:18:13 We talk about... That makes it more egregious. And that's why, you know what I think is going to happen? I think the fact that we're talking about it, I'm sure other people are talking about it as well. When the numbers do come across, we're going to be like, oh, now we see why it took so long.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Now, they're going to take care of me. Ocho. He ain't finna get double money. He's not finna get, he's not finna get, he's not finna get no, Ocho, ain't no first year coach
Starting point is 00:18:39 about to get no 12 million. Stop. I bet he hit double digits though. Let's bet. I bet he hit double digits though. Let's bet. I bet he don't. Bet $100. Bet $100. Okay, bet $100. I bet you $100. Bet.
Starting point is 00:18:53 What college, Michigan played already, right? They played last week. And they played again. I guarantee you have a contract in place and I guarantee it's north of 9 million before week three.
Starting point is 00:19:11 First of all, you said it was going to be double digit. I said north. What is north of 9 million? You said north of 9 million is 10. But the fact of the matter is that this is a blue blood program. Like you said, it's not some small school. This is a preeminent program that probably spent $100 million, $200 million, $ hundred plus million dollar athletic budget and you mean to tell me you've had this man working recruiting
Starting point is 00:19:50 yeah you're right i guess listen i mean i see it from your point of view i also see it from another point of view with the opportunity that that that presents itself at hand working for this historic prestigious university knowing they're going to take care of me at some point. They don't have me working for nothing. How do I know that? How do you know that? This ain't 7-Eleven.
Starting point is 00:20:16 This ain't H&M. This is the University of Michigan. You would think they'd have told everyone by now. Yes, sir. I totally understand what you mean. I totally they can cut that check. You would thank me to talk to everyone by now. Yes, sir. I understand. I totally understand what you mean though. I totally do.
Starting point is 00:20:29 I promise you I do. I don't know why it's going on. I don't know what they're waiting on, but I'm just saying if the opportunity presented itself, if I was Mr. Moore with great understanding that it might not be done now,
Starting point is 00:20:40 but I know they're going to make sure I'm good. Eight months, Ocho? Shoot. Listen, you think eight months long? Let me ask you a question. You think eight months long? How long you think I make? How long?
Starting point is 00:20:52 Not to put my personal business out there. You know, I made Rhea wait nine months before she even could get some. And you think that's long? There's no difference? But that's one thing. She had to work for that. But hold on.
Starting point is 00:21:05 But what if Ray had to pay you for sex and say, well, Ocho, hey, I'm going to pay you in eight months. Exactly. You see how you looked at me? Exactly. Right. Now, when you put it like that from a context,
Starting point is 00:21:20 because I don't lay down for free. You right about that. Yeah, that's my only thing to Ocho. I'm like, okay, normally when you like, okay, you come in for a job interview. Okay, okay, well, how much does the job pay? Okay, what are, what are my
Starting point is 00:21:37 expectations on the job? What's the job hours? What's the work schedule? Overtime? Okay, do I get healthime. Okay, do I get health benefits? Okay. Do I get PTO? I'll come in with a job. I need CTO. Choice time off.
Starting point is 00:21:54 You know what I'm saying? I choose to take off. So all those things I'm working out. Okay, Mr. Sharp, you got the job. Okay, thank you. Oh, whoa, I got a job. sharp you got the job okay thank you we oh whoa i got a job how much did the job pay i understand sometimes like medical it could take 30 to 60 days before you get medical i get that but i ain't taking no damn money i don't get no paycheck i'm not
Starting point is 00:22:19 familiar with these type of situations being that i've never been in a position to be a coach or work at a university like Michigan. So I don't know what's going on. I have no idea. Maybe if I was Paul Feinbaum, I have a better answer for you, but I don't know. I don't know. And I, but I do think he's going to get paid and it's going to be north of 10 million. They're not going to, they're not going to play with him, especially waiting this goddamn long. Or north of 9 million, my bad. Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into Ali's extraordinary life through conversations with Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Rosie Perez, Common,

Starting point is 00:27:24 49ers rookie first-round draft pick Ricky Pearsall was shot in an attempted robbery. The 49ers confirmed that Pearsall had sustained a bullet wound to the chest within serious but stable conditions. Pearsall and the suspect, a 17-year-old who's in custody with charges pending, were both injured in a physical altercation
Starting point is 00:27:43 that succeeded the attempted robbery. Both were taken to a San Francisco General Hospital. DA office is planning to file charges on juvenile court next week due to the suspect's age. Earlier today, Pierce saw a lieutenant in an autograph signing at Kyle Palace in nearby Daly City. This uh all alleged over rolex listen man nah nah he ain't no juvenile nah he ain't no juvenile grown man yeah hey you gotta put grown man charges on him but listen there's another lesson in this for my for my athletes for anybody out there that has nice items nothing nothing is worth your life no nothing is worth your life. No.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Nothing is worth your life. You can buy another Rolex. You can buy another chain. If someone's trying to take your car, you can buy another car. Anything. If you are at gunpoint, you give up those possessions.
Starting point is 00:28:38 I don't think they pulled a gun out of him on first, Ocho, because I believe he gave it up like you said. Yeah. I think he probably tried to strong arm and got the tussling. Yeah, see, don't do that. Ocho, because I believe he gave it up like you said. I think he probably tried to strong arm it.
Starting point is 00:28:46 He got the tussling. Don't do that. You only get one shot. This ain't a video game. Ocho, if somebody come up to you and they ain't got no gun, they ain't got no knife, and they say, Ocho, give it up. You taking it off that free throw? Yes. I'm not playing.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Why? Why play tough? Why am I playing tough? Listen to me. If somebody come up to you and say, let me get whatever it is off of you, you already know they holding. You already know they holding.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Why even play that game? Yeah, man, here, you can take... Man, take this shit. I can buy this again. I can't... This ain't Call of Duty. I can't revive myself. I don't. Oh, this ain't Call of Duty. I can't revive myself. I don't get a second chance at
Starting point is 00:29:27 life. Mainly, Ocho, like I said, the man he's at an autograph signing, Ocho. So I'm pretty sure it's probably in a probably in a fairly nice area. I mean, I've done a few autograph signing.
Starting point is 00:29:43 And it ain't really no shady places. Yeah, but you know, it don't matter where you're at. It don't matter where you're at. He probably, Jit probably knew he was there and waited until after the signing to confront him. But he thought he could take it. Let me ask you a question. You think that 17-year-old going to run up and say,
Starting point is 00:30:02 hey, Trent, give it up? Trent Williams? Yeah. Shit. Exactly. That's my point. Shit. Hey, stop playing.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Oh, no. But I get what you're saying, Ocho. Try not to put myself in that situation. You're right. You're absolutely 1,000% right. Yeah, I mean, I've been in that situation. But right you're absolutely 1000 right uh yeah i mean i've been in that situation but hey but i didn't turn around i took his word for it right hey you already know what it is hey bro my wallet in the car i ain't got nothing no i want no problem i ain't got nothing i ain't got nothing funny things that's what stopped me from taking cut
Starting point is 00:30:42 carrying cash around like that yeah I used to always carry cash. Anybody that knew me when I was younger, Ocho, if you ever saw Shelton Sharp with less than 10 bands on it, call the cops. Somebody just robbed it right around the corner. I kept it on me. But then I was like, man, for what? I'm inviting trouble? Yeah, you right. ass for what? I'm inviting trouble?
Starting point is 00:31:07 Yeah, you're right. You know, half the people, you can understand who really doesn't value their life. I can see the comments. I can see the comments and you can tell who really don't value their life. About dumb ass
Starting point is 00:31:23 jewelry or chains or shit that really holds no true value. Just by the comments. Man, folk don't care, man. They swear. Listen, you don't get two of these. You don't get two of these.
Starting point is 00:31:40 You can't revive yourself. You can't press start. You ain't gonna try to talk to him. You can gonna try to talk to him, Ochoa. Say, young man, bro. You can't play over. Now, hell, man, take this shit. Because, you know, the funny thing, you take my shit, you're gonna be mad anyway when you try to go pawn to the seller because it ain't real no way. So, not shit. You done
Starting point is 00:31:56 lost twice. Hey, you try to get him on as far Hey, bro. Hey, young fella, go ahead and take this. I'm trying to get you away from me as quick as I can. go about your business man i'm trying to i'm trying to get home to these goddamn 85 kids buddy yeah ain't nothing wrong with that i'm trying to trying to try to get it you're right i mean you're right oh you ain't right you ain't wrong when you're right you're right you ain't wrong when you're right oh joe just a little young fella have it and he's been dealing with it he's
Starting point is 00:32:25 been dealing with some injuries it's been kind of hard for him to get on the field Ocho because he's been nicked a lot yeah um and then this happened man yeah he probably thinking like lord I mean you done blessed me but I got buzzered look right now because what's going on and it's like bro like I said but that 17 year old uh nah bro you ain't no juvie yeah i gotta put real charges on you because you doing real adult crime and think about it he hit him in the chest yes and god obviously has favor ricky is okay now what happened if he wasn't okay what happened if he had what happened if he had passed away? You know? And I'm thinking like
Starting point is 00:33:06 we don't really value life. We don't really value life until we lose somebody close to us. We don't really value life until it happens to us. Correct. Always. And then everybody's favorite line is
Starting point is 00:33:21 oh, you messed the city up with this one. Oh, but no, I'm reading the comments. Everybody tough. Oh, you were easy licked. But you never value it until it either happened to you or somebody close to you. And then it's a, oh, damn, you fucked the city up with this one, twin. Damn. I just talked to you the other day.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Man, we so lost. Yeah. I just, everybody trying to get that lick though, Ojo. You know, everybody trying to hit a lick. Not everybody, but I'm saying. You know, people don't want to, everybody's gotten above working. Man, I ain't working at no damn McDonald's. I ain't doing this job.
Starting point is 00:34:06 That's beneath me. So let me go take somebody else to work hard for. Let me go take that up off them. And then, when it ends, he ain't have to do it like that. He ain't have to shoot him. He ain't have to kill him. Well, you ain't have to take that man's shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Yeah. When you robbing somebody, when you doing't have to take that man's shit. Yeah. Yeah. And listen, I... When you robbing somebody, when you doing bad to somebody, harm to somebody, whatever happens, happens, Ocho. Mm-hmm. The number one ranked Georgia Bulldogs seem to be in peak condition already
Starting point is 00:34:37 as they dropped a hammer on Clemson in the Mercedes-Benz Dome. Ocho, I remember a decade ago... And he missed a beat. ...Dabo Sweeney said that if players started getting paid, he would exit. His ass still there. Yeah, what are you waiting for?
Starting point is 00:34:53 I think he understood. Listen, this is one of the same reasons. Nick Saban probably won't say it. This is one of the same reasons why Nick Saban, I think he left. He left. Dabo Sweeney said it ahead of time without really saying it, understanding that the playing field, yeah, it evens.
Starting point is 00:35:10 It evens. You're at a disadvantage unless you open up your pocketbook. And Dabo Sweeney understood that. Nick Saban understood that. And he said, you know what? I'm waving my white flag. I'm going to let somebody else take over from now on.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Check this out. He's going to have to come to the conclusion, the realization he's going to have to have an epiphany, which is a realization that if you don't get paid, if you don't get the transfer portal, you ain't winning. Yeah. You got to win. That's the only way you're going to win.
Starting point is 00:35:39 That's the only way you're going to compete now. I don't know who the boosters are over in Clemson. That is the only way you're going to compete with the better team. That's the only way you're going to compete now. I don't know who the boosters are over in Clemson. That is the only way you're going to compete with the better team. That's the only way you're going to compete with the Alabamas. Only way you're going to compete with the LSUs.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Only way you're going to compete with the Georgians. Ohio State, Michigan, all those big top-notch teams. Clemson is one of four teams. Navy, Army, Air Force. They don't accept transfer at the Service Academy.
Starting point is 00:36:03 That didn't land a transfer. Didn't. Hey, hey dabble you said when they started playing players you were gonna exit stage left yeah i remember hey you know another guy coach k said i don't do that one and does no that ain't me until he started doing one and done if you can't beat him join him one and done dabble yeah you can't beat them, join them. One and dones. Damn old. You ain't got no choice. You're not that good. You're not that good. If you think you're just going to get high school seniors and that's what you're going to win with,
Starting point is 00:36:34 bro, it's over. It is over. Everybody else is doing it. Look at the top 10 teams. And I was reading the thing, I think it was the New York Times, telling you what it costs to get a top notch. You're paying $700,000, $800,000
Starting point is 00:36:50 for a quarterback. You're paying $400,000, $500,000 for a receiver. You're paying $400,000, $500,000 for a defensive lineman. Can't beat them, join them. Dabble has to understand, it is now a business. It is now a business, So we need you to evolve
Starting point is 00:37:08 as the business model of collegiate football is evolving. And that is the only way you're going to continue to compete. I mean, your only way you're going to be able to continue to compete. It's just a slight adjustment. You got to adapt. You got to adapt with everything else.
Starting point is 00:37:23 You have to adapt and that's the only way. Listen, he has a buyout clause. It's goddamn a slight adjustment. You got to adapt. You got to adapt with everything else. You have to adapt. And that's the only way. Listen, he has a he has a bio clause. It's got them. Twenty seven and twenty six. Man, I mean, come on now and listen, it's not a bad thing, though. Yes. Dan Clemson, they play Georgia. They play Georgia. This is the best team in college football. Is this a measuring stick for how good Clemson is or how bad Clemson may be? They went 94 last year, Ocho. This is not a game I want to gauge on how good we are right now.
Starting point is 00:37:55 They went 94 last year. That was the first time since 2010 they didn't win 10 games. Yeah. Hold on. You mean to tell me Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, all the top 10 teams can go in the portal, but you think you good enough not to? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I mean, you ain't going to have no choice. I'm telling you, something ain't right, Ocho. I remember the time. You ain't going to have no choice. I remember the time. Guess what? When them PWIs wouldn't touch a black guy. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:30 USC said, y'all don't want him. We're going to get him. And then USC went down there and beat the brakes out of Alabama. When Sam Bowne went down there and they drug Alabama. Yeah. Takes one to catch one. Guess what happened, Ocho? With Al Davis.
Starting point is 00:38:47 They didn't want to touch HBCU players. Al Davis says, okay, let me go on up here and get me a couple of them. A lot of the players that's in the Pro Football Hall of Fame come from HBCUs. Yes, sir. Yeah. HBCUs, yeah. Yeah. So, Dabo can do all this.
Starting point is 00:39:03 He can get on his pulpit and preach and pontificate all he wants to. Oh, I'm going to leave. They start. You ain't got no plan. He had no problem. Every time Clemson give him a boost, he make it seven. He make it eight. He make it 10.
Starting point is 00:39:16 He make it 11. He had no problem. Oh, the players. This is college. This is man. Shut up. The blessing to get that money. Get it?
Starting point is 00:39:27 Get it. And don't y'all go to Clemson unless they pay top dollar. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, if you want to win, times have changed. You got to adapt to your surroundings. You got to evolve. Just like technology.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Same way. The game has changed. Just like technology. Same way. The game has changed. Either you get with it or you get gone. I've been very fortunate. Like I said, I've been with my agent since 1996.
Starting point is 00:39:56 So, we coming up on 30 years. Yes, sir. Anytime I've lost something, he always tells me, don't never worry about it. The next company you work for, they'll pay for it. I go, okay. They'll pay for it.
Starting point is 00:40:17 You got to get up off a car. You got to get up off X amount of dollars. Don't even worry about it. Puts my mind at such ease. I like that. But as I've gotten older, I've become more and more detached from things.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Cars, money, jewelry. It don't mean as much to me as it once did. It did, yeah. So once you can detach yourself from it, Ochoa? That's freedom, Uncle. That's freedom, Uncle. That's the definition of being free.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Where it don't have a hold on you no more. It don't got you in a chokehold no more. A lot of people can't do it. That's hard. I walk away from 100,000, 200,000 like it ain't it. Yeah. It won't even look back. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Because that's just where I am now. That's where I am in my life now. It don't mean now. You call those shit in his 20s and 30s. Different ballgame. I spent $500,000 to get $100,000 back. Because I know you ain't got it. And so I'm going to put your ass in a crunch.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Now, take off with it. It doesn't bother me anymore because I'm going to look. My kid's good. Mom, sister, brother good. I'm great. Take off. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Mm-hmm. You just learn, Ocho, as you get older things that used to get you riled up. Yeah. Mean a lot to you. It don't. It don't anymore. It ain't even worth it. Yeah. It come with time though. It come with time. Time, age, maturity.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Think about some of the things you enjoyed and you loved when you was playing. You just couldn't do without. Yep. Now, I could care less. See, the thing is, when you ask God for something,
Starting point is 00:42:14 I ask God for patience. He's not going to give me patience, Ocho. He's going to put me in a situation where patience is required. Wow. That's what he does. He puts you in a situation where
Starting point is 00:42:29 what you're asking for is required. And you learn. But it took a while for me to get to that point. It's going to be okay. And then once I let that go and I stopped thinking about money and it wasn't, man, Ocho, stuff just started coming. Blowing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Just started coming. I was like, boy, I'm arguing over this and he done gave it back to me tenfold. In the fall of 1986, Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal that looked like it might bring down his presidency. Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir? No. It became known as the Iran-Contra affair. And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second. I'm going to ask Attorney General.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which few of us still remember today. The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you. Please do. To hear the whole story,
Starting point is 00:46:12 listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see. Muhammad Ali was never afraid to express himself loudly and boldly and stays true to form in Ali and Me, an eight-part audible original.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Guided by his own words, this series explores Ali's life and legacy through never-before-heard audio recordings and discussions with those who knew him best. Muhammad had this real sense of his own personal values and principles, things he believed in, his own sense of conviction. Those convictions never wavered. Hosted by Muhammad's wife, Lani Ali, and his close friend, award-winning broadcaster, John Ramsey, Ali and Me goes beyond the boxing ring to delve deeply into ollie's extraordinary life
Starting point is 00:47:05 through conversations with billy crystal mike tyson rosie perez common will smith and bob costas it created a north star for me of how i want to be in the world you know as a child as a young person he gave credence to my audacity. There's no debate that this is the greatest global sports figure of our lifetime. Listen to Ali and me now on audible. I've never been too proud to work hard. People try to make me feel bad, man. You working in them fields, you getting tall in you. Because, I mean, you know, you get tall on your hands,
Starting point is 00:47:49 you got tar on your hair, you out there getting black. I ain't never been too, I've never been too proud to work hard. Man, give me an honest day's salary, I give him an honest day's work. Yes, sir. I can honestly say I ain't never took nothing off nobody. Okay, I hit my grandma up a couple times for 50 cent dollars, but you know. I gave him, I gave him. Yeah, I hit granny up, but I think she forgave him, baby.
Starting point is 00:48:18 I think I made good on that, Ocho. But that's just me. And the biggest mistake that I've made a large portion of my life, Ocho, is that I think everybody thinks like me. Oh, I'm going to go out there and work hard. I ain't going to take nobody else's issue. I'm going to go out here and do the right thing. I ain't going to do that.
Starting point is 00:48:38 You know, it's just the opposite. No, times are different. Just the opposite. You know, everybody want that fast now. Everybody want that fast life. Everybody want that Instagram lifestyle. It really ain't too many jobs that can provide that lifestyle you see on Instagrams all the time. It's only one way to get that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:49:00 If you ain't on that goddamn field of that basketball court, hell, there's only one other route to attain that type of lifestyle and luxury. Entertainment or something? You doing something because ain't nobody that's working that's worth money posting that money like that. No. No.
Starting point is 00:49:20 God, if you post too much, they gonna come get it. They gonna come see what you buy. Oh, they coming to get? Shit, They're going to come see what you buy. Oh, they're coming to get it? Shit, who you telling? They're coming to see what you buy. Listen, sometimes if you're doing it and you got to get it how you live to provide,
Starting point is 00:49:35 to provide, sometimes you got to get it how you live. I understand that. I come from those circumstances at one point too. I get it. It's unfortunate. Just hypothetically speaking, if you had 196 billion right now,
Starting point is 00:49:50 what you would do with that? I know black colleges ain't going to be suffering no more. Yeah. I know that for certain. I know my community, there's going to be a lot of outreach programs in my community.
Starting point is 00:50:06 My community is going to be in a lot better shape than what we're in right now. I can bet you that. I might be worth $196 billion today, but when I die, I ain't going to be worth $196 billion. I ain't going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Nope. Nope. I'm not going to leave all that money to my kids. I'm going to leave them enough to do something, but not enough where they ain't got to do nothing. Right. I like that. So, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Savannah State going to be well, well off. And then I'm going to trickle that down to, I think it's probably 125, 150 other black colleges. Oh, they're going to be straight. My community. Yeah. It's going to be good. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Let me see. 196 million. I'm thinking for one, first off, my kids and those I have kids from, everybody good. I'm taking care of that. I'm taking care of home first, that nucleus, that's very important to me. Obviously my mom and my grandma are gone. My brothers, make sure they good. Schools, FAMU, obviously you know how much I love FAMU. Oregon State, got to get back to Oregon State, even though I was only there for four months.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Yeah. My immediate close friends. It ain't that many. It's probably eight of us. I'm talking about close. I make sure they good. There's some other entities that I enjoy, that I support. Charities, I'm going to pour into them as well.
Starting point is 00:51:48 And that's all I can think of right now. Yeah. I'm sure it's more. I'm just hypothetically speaking right now off the top of my head. Some of the things I would do. Yeah. We will have a lot more. I ain't going to be too crazy though.
Starting point is 00:52:01 I'm going to get me a new smart car. No, I don't care about no cars. I got enough cars. I done had all the cars. If I don't going to be too crazy, though. I'm going to get me a new smart car. No, I don't care about no cars. I got enough cars. I done had all the cars. If I don't get another car, I'm good. I'm good on cars. But I tell you what, Nick Saban coming out of retirement
Starting point is 00:52:18 going to coach at Savannah State. Okay. Listen, the NIL money. Listen, fam, you're going to be a power five school when I'm done. Oh, yeah. I'm going to be coaching at Savannah State. The NIL? Oh, y'all want to battle?
Starting point is 00:52:31 Who want to battle? Yep. Come on down here to Tallahassee now. I got whatever you need. Yes, sir. A $10 stimulus package. Savannah State ain't going to have a number five stars. We ain't got a number five stars. We ain't got number five stars.
Starting point is 00:52:45 Football and basketball. Hey. Crack and field, girls, basketball. Oh, the next Juju Watkins, praise Beckers. Yeah. Come on down to Savannah State. I like it. Come on, get the two.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Go on and get this. Hey, I'm going to play y'all more than y'all going to make going to the WNBA. Come on down here and get this money. That's right. Oh, for sure. I like it. Man, that ain't right. It is right. It ain't wrong either.
Starting point is 00:53:10 So I'm just telling you what, if I had that money, I'm taking care of black colleges and my community. Oh, we're going to build this thing up. Yeah, for sure. I'm thinking I'm going to change Liberty City. I'm going to change the name of Liberty City and call it Ocho's World.
Starting point is 00:53:27 Buy everybody, buy all the buildings up, buy all Wynwood back. Yeah. Because they done came in and bought up all the stuff. Mm-hmm. All the people out. They done pushed all my people out. Bring them on back home so we can have our wonderful, beautiful city back. them all the people out and push all my people out bring them on back home so we can have our
Starting point is 00:53:47 wonderful beautiful city back man I gotta buy a franchise get about 4 or 5 of us we gonna get us a franchise we gonna get a football team a basketball team yeah for sure I just want one
Starting point is 00:54:02 all black majority owners yep and I don't even want to be the face of it I just want us I ain't lying I don't want to be the face of it if they had 196 billion I mean just
Starting point is 00:54:19 hypothetically speaking I ask Mike Brown to send me the team he ain't selling it. I know. I mean that in a respectful way. I like the way they run things, but I just want to be your owner. If I was to be your owner, either I ask Stephen Ross, Stephen Ross to send me the Dolphins or Mike Brown to send me.
Starting point is 00:54:39 You got a better chance. You got a better chance because Stephen Ross doesn't have the attachment to the Dolphins like Mike Brown has to the Bengals. Right, right. You got to realize Mike Brown's dad founded the Bengals. All around, yes. So there's a little bit more attachment to it. Right.
Starting point is 00:54:53 It's kind of like the McCaskies and the Bears. There's a little bit more attachment of the Kansas City. Hunt, Lamar Hunt founded Kansas City. Clark Hunt and his brothers, they're not getting off that. That's a family business. You're probably going to have to have somebody, Ocho, that purchased a team that doesn't have the
Starting point is 00:55:12 same attachment, the family attachment, the family connection to it. Now, Jerry ain't ever getting rid of the Cowboys. And they just have a $10 billion valuation. But you're probably going to have to find somebody that doesn't have the family attachment
Starting point is 00:55:27 the Titans you're not getting them Amy Adams Skunk ain't that her name Bud Adams daughter he founded the Houston you're not getting that from her yeah you're going too far
Starting point is 00:55:44 now one or the other Skunk haulers. You're not getting that from her. Yeah, you're going too far now. Miami and Cincinnati, one or the other. So if it's Miami... Strunk. Strunk. Amy Adams Strunk. So, like I said, you know, Ocho, like, you probably like the Wilsons
Starting point is 00:55:59 because they sold it. Because a lot of times, you got these owners because the death tax was uh what that the death tax was so great that the owner would die and the family would have to like it's gonna take 45 50 of it so you had to sell it right dang yeah hey could you imagine if i own imagine if i own the dolphins like think about that i'll be the first owner that owned a team and played. Yeah. Mike McDowell, I don't give a fuck if it's one play.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Put me in the game. This man want to go out there. You got all that money, want to go out there and do half-serving. Put me in the game. Hey. Put me in the game. Put me in the game. Listen, one play.
Starting point is 00:56:42 I ain't got to do much. I tell you what. Play a code GM everything. I'm closing down Magic City for the whole week. Ain't nobody coming there but me. What about the women? That's who I want to see. Ain't no other dude coming up.
Starting point is 00:56:56 You can't. You can't. You can't. I can't. I got a lot of magic. Don't tell me what I can and can't do. I got them all the whole week. Hey, buddy. Private. That's funny. Or got them all the whole week. Hey, boy.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Private. That's funny. Or a private event, Ocho. Matter of fact, we can have a private event. When you fly to Atlanta? When? Okay, I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm going to leave tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:57:20 I'm going to leave tomorrow. Well, damn, what you going out there that early for? What you mean? What you mean? What you mean? I got to... I don't be in Atlanta like that, so I'm just trying to get myself acclimated. But Rail ain't going to be there.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Nah. Where Rail get there? Shoot, I don't think she coming. She got to take care of. The volume.
