Starting point is 00:01:07 This show contains information subject to, but not limited to personal takes, rumors, not so accurate stats, and plenty more. What's up, man? Starting point is 00:01:41 Special guests joining us. We got Pro Bowl safety. Julian Love going to his first Super Bowl. Jay Love, has it sunk in that you're going to the Super Bowl? How you're doing? We're doing great, bro. Yeah, I mean, it's a little so real for sure. You know, the motions were flowing last night.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Folks were celebrating. But yeah, it's sunk in for sure. So you're getting, as time is winding down, you're like, okay, we got a four-point lead. Just nothing cheap, nothing deep. Keep everything in front of us. Keep them inbound. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick it away. So when Pooka caught that ball, you're like, damn, we laid him out of bounds.
Starting point is 00:02:23 But you saw the real, and you saw the official kept doing this, you're like, it's over. So the first thing that goes through your mind, you know like, okay, this game is over. What goes through your mind immediately? I threw my helmet somewhere. I'm trying to throw little kisses to the family up in the suite, celebrate with the fans. They were going crazy. But yeah, I mean, all offensive to their job in that four-minute drill, you know, they burn their timeouts.
Starting point is 00:02:49 So they had a whole field to go, 25 seconds left, no timeouts. I mean, that's a challenge. And they completed two balls. but they were both in bounds. And so, I mean, that's tough sled for a team that needed more than a field goal in that situation. So, yeah, we feel good. So now it's a situation.
Starting point is 00:03:08 You played this team. They've kind of had your guys as number, but you go back out there and you do a job on them the final game of the season. You know there's a probably 80% chance that you're probably going to have to see this team again, a division opponent, that we've already seen twice. We see them twice a year.
Starting point is 00:03:26 You know there's probably a better than 80% chance. In order for us to reach our final destination, we're probably going to have to go through this damn team again. Damn it! Man, we looked at it. We looked across the playoff bracket. We just felt good, for real. I mean, the NFC West this year was just a division of demons.
Starting point is 00:03:46 You know, the Niners somehow were finding a way to win games despite losing all their star guys. And the Rams were just, that offense, man. They're so high power. Stafford McVeigh. That's just a combo that no one wanted to see for real. But we knew situationally on defense. That's all we had to do.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I think, I can't remember the exact number, but they got a one or two third down conversions. So we're sharp there. We were sharp on fourth down. We were sharp in the red zone at the end of the game. And the sharp end of a half, two minutes, everything. That was critical.
Starting point is 00:04:15 We stepped up for it. Some of the other stuff, yeah, we got to get back to the drum. Yeah, most definitely. Obviously, I want to say, congratulations, JL, on all your accomplishments, what you guys have achieved defensively, collectively, not only as a defense, but as a team as well,
Starting point is 00:04:30 and going to the Super Bowl, but I wanted to ask you, being nominated for the Walter Payton Man in the Year, what does that mean to you, boss, man? Man, that's special. You know, I'm a Chicago kid. And so Walter Payton, that's like a, he's a superhero. That's how my pops raised me. That's how my grandparents raised me.
Starting point is 00:04:50 That's what it is. You know, Walter Payton was a superhero. And so to be nominated, you know, It was definitely emotional. Everybody back home was going crazy because they just know what it means. And for me, I mean, I was just, I don't know, to be myself for real. You know, I do a lot with, with expected or postpartum mothers. A lot of kids, obviously.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I have my youth camp for free. I don't like charging kids. I know our parents are grinding, paying that entrance fee for these camps and all these things. And, you know, they did it thankfully, but I know it's not easy. And so just everything. It was cool to be nominated. but yeah, it doesn't stop, you know. That's dope.
Starting point is 00:05:29 That's dope. The team that you're going against this, look, this is a rematch with Super Bowl 49. And I think there's a 99.99.99.99. chance. If y'all get the ball on the one yard line, y'all go hand that down ball off to King of Parker in a similar situation because,
Starting point is 00:05:46 or you guys are going to lose your damn mind on Clint? And I know Clint very well I play with his father. But has it like, okay, have you given yourself an opportunity? Have you watched any film on the, on the Patriots and kind of what they like to do offensively, or you just taking it in, okay, we're going to,
Starting point is 00:06:03 we'll start getting to them on Wednesday. We got tomorrow off. You probably came in today. Okay, we're going to leave Saturday. We're going to leave Sunday to head down to San Francisco, and we'll leave Monday. Get your ticket situation, the hotel, this is what, you get the plane situation. When I, when I with Jay Love,
Starting point is 00:06:22 like, I would, my family was leaving from where they were from. And so I had seats on the plane that I ended up giving to my best friend, like, hey, your family's here. They can take those seats. That's kind of the planning that y'all had today. You brought everybody in, you explain when you're leaving. The hotel situation, the ticket situation, look, let's get all that out the way.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Because once we get started on Wednesday, we don't need any distractions. You hit it exactly on the head. That was the whole day today. Logistics. My head's in the blender. you know, the team went, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:55 we celebrated last night. So we're trying to figure it out this morning. And yeah, we had some uncomfortable conversations this morning, try to tell the family, all right, this is a situation, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:05 it's a game. I got to win a game in two weeks. It ain't a family vacation in San Fran. And so, yeah, there's a lot of that today. We treat you say like a Monday. I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:14 you heard our head coach talk, McDonald. He's very much direct. He's very, you know, straight line. And he just, he treated till they like a normal Monday.
Starting point is 00:07:24 We celebrated, watched the good plays, did all the things. Tomorrow's an off day, and Wednesday we'll get after. And so we just follow the same method. We have a little more time. I haven't watched them, to be honest, too much. Just our paths just didn't cross too much. You know, I'm watching film on other teams. And so, yeah, we're excited to just take a dive for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Hey, before you came to the Seahawks, I think if I'm not mistaken, my year served me correct, 2023. What was the selling point? what was the selling point based on other places you could have gone what made seattle the destination for you yeah honestly it was p. Carroll just straight up and down um you know i had three head coaches in four years in new york went up to the giants tough sled and uh you know we were we were figuring it out uh but uh you know my last year in new york was like my first time as a start full-time starter i played a lot before that but first time it was a full-time starter and so I was looking to grow um you know some
Starting point is 00:08:24 people in the giant's building just didn't see that and you know I was 24 at the time so I'm like man I'm young I you know I left school early you know back when people did that um and uh yeah it was piquero he said listen we have two high-paid safeties uh we have mall as we all know um and cordy diggs who my mentors who and my guys they said but you know mall's kind of dealing with some injury stuff uh we need you to come in and we just just have a we have a clear vision for how we want to play you and deploy you into everything. And I just trusted it. Pete Carroll sold me.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And so that year, I mean, I was the third safety for real. And I made the Pro Bowl. You know, we, I accomplished a lot of things. I earned a lot of what I have now because I just, I just took a leap of faith for real. Have you always played safety growing up most of the time? You know, we play other positions. And as we get, as we got older, we were fixated on one thing, especially when it was time to get to the next level. you've always been a safety all your life or you played other things no you know when you're a kid man
Starting point is 00:09:25 you just play whatever uh who could score to most points uh little league you're running back of course high school running back receiver return kicks did i did all things uh played kind of linebacker is safety because in high school corner i mean nobody's really guarding people for real in high school so this is where i can ever tackle and in college at notre dame i played corner okay and so I was kind of in the draft as a tweener for real. You know, people are like, is he a nickel? Is he a corner that just tackles well? Size speed, all that would kind of be analyzed.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And thankfully, a mentor is like, listen, get some reps at free safety. I think, you know, your skill set, you can move, you can tackle, you do all the things. I think it'll serve you well. And so, yeah, I randomly have starts at corner, nickel, free, strong, all in the league. In my first three years.
Starting point is 00:10:18 And so, yeah, I bounced down a little bit. Jay Love, you said something very important that you relate to your family that this is not a vacation. Because the family, you're going to probably guys go get that in there for Sunday or Monday. The family's going to come in on Thursday. And the way I approached it,
Starting point is 00:10:36 I went and saw my family when they got in. I saw the kids. We hung out. And then I didn't see the kids again until after the game. Because I'm there to win a game. I'm not there to go sightseeing. I'm not there to.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Because the first football we had was in SeaWorld. So you know the kids are all the side of my Seaworld. We're going to SeaWorld, Sea World, see all the do blah. Yes, that was my mom, my sister, my girlfriend at the time. That was their job. Y'all handled the kids. Don't call me for nothing unless it's an absolute emergency. And then I'm going to meet you guys at wherever you need to be at.
Starting point is 00:11:06 But other than that, you have to relay that because they're like, oh, man, that game ain't until Sunday. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. The game is one. People don't realize games are one Monday through Friday. You go out there on the field That ain't nothing You win games on Monday through Friday
Starting point is 00:11:23 That's when you won to get So I want to ask you this Are you guys installing Because and then have everything As a dress rehearsal Or are you waiting until you actually get to Sam Fran Before you do installation?
Starting point is 00:11:36 No, no, we're getting after it We're starting up I think I think actually we have an extra day off I think we have a Wednesday off And we're treating Thursday like it's a Wednesday of the week Yep My have is in full pads
Starting point is 00:11:47 knowing him so we might just be getting up yeah man we were in full pad like a week or two ago you gotta get that callus to get that monkey off your back and so
Starting point is 00:12:01 we did but that's been the whole season for real like we're you know to us on the inside we're like a team of nobody's you know to most people not a lot of star power you know a lot of people say
Starting point is 00:12:11 and we just approach every day the same you know so yeah we're going to get after you know our Wednesday, the same way we always do. I have our meetings, you know, getting at, you know, however earlier you're getting in and then leaving at 5.30 or so. Yeah, we got a lot of it. I mean, I told my family, listen, I can see you exactly right.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Thursday. We had that to follow on there, so maybe I could see you Thursday. But then my normal Friday, I like to get in, I'm already in that mode Friday for a game. I'll do disservice to you guys if I'm trying to play host, because I'm going to be, like, quiet and kind of, you know, in that mode. And so, yeah, I think they know what time it is for them. Are you married? Did you have a family?
Starting point is 00:12:51 Yeah, married. I started dating my wife and I was 16 years old. Oh, my goodness. Congrats. Yeah, I got lucky. It's hard. It's hard nowadays for these young guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:02 And so I got lucky. So married, we've been married for a few years now. Kids? Yeah, two years old. And we have another one doing March. Oh, congratulations, man. Yeah, boy. Yeah, thank you.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Thank you. But that's the thing. You got, hey, wife. Hey, you got to handle this. You got to handle it. because, hey, I don't know if and when I'll ever get back to this situation. So I want to seize this moment.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Mom, dad, hey, wife got all y'all set up. Y'all don't need me for anything. Let me handle this game. When we win this game, wherever y'all want to go, I got you. Yep. Exactly right. We'll have time. We got the offseason we can do out there.
Starting point is 00:13:40 We live, I live five minutes with my folks. So back in Chicago and so. Oh, really? We'll have that time. That's dope. Yeah, we'll have that time. So, yeah, wife's playing, mediator, manager, you know, all the things. She's putting an overtime.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Hey, once all this is over, once the dust clears and y'all win the Super Bowl, you hoist that trophy, everything settles in. What do you like to do outside of the game of football? You know, any hobbies you might have. I mean, you cook, read books, I mean, whatever it may be. Do you have anything that you're excited to do once everything settles down? man i'm a i'm a home body for real uh you know i get back to chicago i train i hang out with the family uh you know i i wake up i enjoy playing you know my son will be the you know two boys uh this
Starting point is 00:14:30 off season and so i chill i do like to golf i'm average uh but i enjoy it just kind of getting out you know have a few jericho guys you know play some music i'm more of that type of golfer you got too much muscle j love you got to lose some of that muscle to be good at golf you got to be you got to be free through the shoulders Yeah, I don't want to see a video of you swinging a golf club. I might not look right. It looks like LeBron swimming the golf club. A few weeks ago, Greg Bell tweeted,
Starting point is 00:14:55 Julia Love said he and former Giants teammate Leonard Williams hugged in the locker room post game at the 49ers and said each to each other. Seahawks winning the division, making the playoffs as Top C, we made it. GM John Snyder walked by and said, you're welcome. Yeah, man. When you look at you, you spoke about the journey that you went on,
Starting point is 00:15:15 you go to the Giants and they don't really give you the opportunity that you think you deserve and you have to take a leap of faith. You go to a team that got two starting safeties and both have gone to the Pro Bowl, I've been perennial law pro that you say what? That's the perfect spot for me. I'm going to Seattle to play behind two perennial pro bowl players. Yes, I can't think of a better place for Jay Love to go. This is home.
Starting point is 00:15:42 When you told your wife that you were signing with Seattle, And she said, hold on, honey. Jamal Landon of Condra Diggs. Are you crazy? Chicago don't want you? There's not another team that need a safety. So this is the only team. First of all, you pulling me way out.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Chicago and New York. Right there. Yeah. You pulling me way. That's a six-hour flight, baby. Yeah, she looked at the map. She was like, oh, man. Four flights out from Chicago.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Yeah, it's going to at least be five hours. Yeah, it was. It was a leap of faith for real. But at that point, just like I'm sure you guys did, I mean, there's no higher belief in me than me. I felt like I was playing my best ball and I was climbing. I was young. I was hungry. And so, you know, the value wasn't there for some people with the Giants.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Cool. I'm going to go make a shake somewhere else. And so it was an element of betting on myself. And yeah, with that conversation with Leo in the locker room, Leonard Williams, man, Big Cat. I play. It's my seventh season. I played every season with Big Cat. He's the only team that I've had on two different teams.
Starting point is 00:16:47 For my first year in New York, he got traded from the Jets to the Giants. We played four years together. My first year, then I signed as a free agent to Seattle, and he gets traded to Seattle that year. And we're best friends. And so that tweet or that quotes a little wrong, I said we made it out. You made it out.
Starting point is 00:17:06 We made it out. We found a way, man, we're running some like-minded people, some dogs, some people who are pretty selfless. And yeah, thankfully that GM made that call because, yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, night and day from where you were. I mean, listen, you, you, you, be careful. I mean, obviously they gave you the opportunity.
Starting point is 00:17:28 You never want to say anything, anything bad about them. I like, I like the way you've been very cautious about that. But my grandma always told me, you know, closed mouths don't get fed. So I'm going ahead and be the one to ask, can I get a ticket to the Super Bowl? No, I saw what this? Jay J-J-Lude.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Hey, Jay-Luh, that's a way to keep that thing a stack. Hey, I saw what they're trying to charge me, people who are in the game. Yeah, I was shook. I remember the tickets used to be, I think the max ticket might have been like $1,200 when I played, love.
Starting point is 00:18:00 But I think now they're probably three, four, five thousand. That's a top, too. He didn't even hesitate. He said no fast as hell. Hey, do you still get 13? with two comps? Yeah. Can you get more?
Starting point is 00:18:15 Yeah, it's, uh, I think it is like 13, two comps. Okay. Maybe, maybe, maybe 14 to two comps. Uh, so you can, you can, you get allocated them. But yeah, they said they don't get that off you. Uh, yeah. Oh, they're, oh, oh, a lot of that, oh, the tickets. Oh, you plan 50, 60, 70, 80,000 dollars for those seats.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah, yeah. They told, they told us today, uh, you know, usually have like a lap infant. You know, we have a two-year-old, whatever. They said, everybody. Everybody. You need a ticket. You get you six weeks old with a baby.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Baby need a ticket. They need a ticket to this game. Baby need a ticket. You better be glad they in charge of your wife. She's pregnant and I still two seats. Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going to charge me one and a half. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:57 But the year before, guys don't know this. This is between us. You used to get up to 30 tickets for the Super Bowl. Dang. Yeah. 30, decent rate, too. I tell you off camera what, what changed that. but we don't want to we don't want to put family business in the street man
Starting point is 00:19:21 congrats hey no before you go we want to get you out on this what's it like every day to see j s. N and to have to deal with him on a regular basis because you see him every day and you kind of know his movements he does a great job of staying level because a lot of times when guys when guys go to stop they'll drop down but if you watch him he kind of like he's like just floating on there so everything looks the same He'll run out, it looks the same. He'll run an end, it looks the same.
Starting point is 00:19:48 He runs the same. He runs the seam. He runs the goal. Everything looks the same. So it's really hard to get a bead on what he's actually doing. So what's it like watching him every single day? No, he's special. Y'all got to get out and see him in person go to work. He's special.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Like you said, everything's the same. Those are the toughest receivers, you know, you can be fluid in a route and be able to break on every step. And you're moving at full school. see there's there's three to five of the league pretty much. He's one of them. So natural. Then out of the route, natural pass catcher.
Starting point is 00:20:24 You saw him with the one-handed grab. Just natural. I think a lot of his teammates, you know, back in college, you know, back in his Ohio State days, they said the same thing. Like, man, he's special. And he's just a guy, man. He's chill. You know, he's cool.
Starting point is 00:20:38 You know, he's, you know, a young single dude enjoying himself. But when it comes to work, you know, he's serious. We know he's for real. He needs to get more attention. Obviously, he's getting this year, but he's a serious. Listen, I got a small sample size of him. Obviously, seeing what he did, Ohio State, seeing what he did in the Rose Bowl, I hold a wide receiver workshop for all the NFL receivers.
Starting point is 00:21:01 He was one of the receivers that came out with Jamar Chase and T. Higgins and Cortland, Sutton, Judy, and being able to see him now up close and personal and to see his footwork and his ability to start and stop and transition and get in and out of breaks. I was like, what the second of the hell? Top tier. So then, so when I see what he does this season on, on film and on camera,
Starting point is 00:21:23 I'm like, okay, now it makes sense why they let D.K. go. Okay, now it makes sense why they let Tyler Locker go. So I'm like, dog, unbelievable. He did his own. He's nice. He's nice.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Now, to have his production with the style of offense we play, you know, it's run heavy. I think we run it at the highest clip in the league. The dude is doing. Oh, the West Coast. you absolutely going to run it. Yeah, yeah. He, uh, to get that production out of him, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:21:50 But when you play action off that run and when Kenneth Walker the third is running it like he's running it and when you play out, play action off of it, that's why you got guys running. That's why you got guys running. That's still an excellent route runner, but he's even more running because those safety like, damn, we got to get down in the box. We got to stop this because we can't let this guy get ahead of steam. But he's, he's, he's special. Even like, like, Ocho's talking about in that Rose Bowl and you're watching him, you're like, Is this team that bad or this dude really that good? Because, you know, you don't see, look, we see receivers get 175, 200.
Starting point is 00:22:23 But to see a guy go over 300 yards receiving? So I'm asking myself, if this man really this good, or are they that bad at defense? And come to find out, no, he's that good. Yeah, had no answers. Had no answers for him. Man, well, congratulations, man. Thank you for coming on and joining us tonight
Starting point is 00:22:41 and sharing with us. a little highlight from the game and what it means to you and your family to go. Congratulations on the newborn that's about to happen in March. Wish you best of luck. Everybody's healthy and happy. And come back after the game, you guys take care of what you're supposed to take care of. Come back and talk to me.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Don't forget my ticket. Of course. Go to a will call. You might be waiting a little bit, but it'll be there. Appreciate it, Jay Love. Congratulations. Stay healthy, bro. Y'all, appreciate y'all.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Appreciate you, man. Hey, Ocho, that joke told you, you don't know, the ticket costs too much, Ocho. I ain't got nothing money, bro. I already, I already know what it's going to look like. You know, you get those tickets, and sometimes you know what your check's supposed to be,
Starting point is 00:23:28 and they take that money out that check, it ain't going to be pretty. You ain't tell me, and I know. It ain't be pretty. I know what it's going to be. Bro, I thought your auntie put you up. This show contains information subject to, but not limited to personal takes, rumors, not so accurate stats, and plenty more.
Starting point is 00:23:53 What's up, man? This is your boy, Nav Green, from the Broken Play Podcast. Look, it's the end of the season, the playoffs are here. But guess what? It ain't the end of your season. You can always tune in with Broken Play Podcasts with Nav Green on the Black Effect Podcast Network. Another team who ain't going to the playoffs. They're cheese.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Oh, it's a rap. It's time to rebuild. Who your MVP right now then? Drake May up there, Josh Allen up there still. Oh, my boy, Matthew Stafford. Where did he? Both Knicks at. He ain't too far behind.
Starting point is 00:24:23 He did all this talk. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan. But Matthew Stafford got better weapon. Caleb Williams. Hey, he should be in that conversation. In what conversation? He should be in it.

Broncos live backer, Drey Greenlaw said transitioning from San Francisco to Denver was very tough because how much more physical demanding Sean Payton coaching style was. He told reporters, Sean is old school. He's going to do six days on, one day off. He's got his way of doing things. You're going to be practicing three hours on Wednesday, three hours on Friday.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Shanahan is a complete opposite. He wants you fresh. Well, hold on. I thought the CBA didn't allow them to be out on the field that long. No star me to lie. Yeah, I mean, I'm back. The 49ers have never won a game on the Kyle Shannan when trailing by eight points or more in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Since 2017, Kansas City leads the NFL with seven wins in 30 such situation with a comeback rate of 23.3. San Francisco is dead last when trailing by eight points in. in the fourth quarter, they're 0.51. Yeah. Wow. I can believe what he's saying, too, about Sean Payton. And obviously his, yes, Sean is old school.
Starting point is 00:27:00 He's old school. I'm sure he's had to adjust a little bit and adapt to the new CBA and the rules and the way players wear pads and the way they wear shells. But he's going to get the most out of you. He's going to get the most out of you. And that's probably the reason for those successes. Literally and figuratively. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:19 That's probably the reason. for their success. Okay, chat, Unka's gone. How y'all doing today? Cool. Okay, bet. I'm doing good too.
Starting point is 00:27:34 That's pretty much it. Y'all like my jersey? Flamingo? No? Brazilian team? No? Cool. What uncle? Hey, chat, y'all want to hear a joke? Chat, y'all want to hear a joke? Can they even hear me?
Starting point is 00:28:01 Ash, can you hear me? Okay. Should I save my? joke to un-get back a chat would you call a wondering nun like a nun that's wandering around what do you call a wondering none anybody nobody knows a wondering none is called a roman catholic back to i normally scheduled programming it is a transition oh joe if i've always felt it's easy to go from difficult to easy as opposed to easy to difficult. That's why they say you could always lighten up on your kids,
Starting point is 00:29:23 but it's harder for you to be lighten and try to toughen up on your kids. And Drey was, look, I know this Wisco system and, and, and know how it operates. And that's how Mike was. Mike says, I want you fresh. I don't want to waste all this effort on the practice field. I don't want to leave this. You leave your best material on the cutting room floor.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Nah, I'm saving this for Sunday. I want you guys fresh. I want you guys to get up your feet. I want you to guys to start mentally preparing and getting ready for this game. And I walk you fast. Mike didn't beat, oh, so we had on pads. We put on pads Thursday. So I wore pads basically 12 plays.
Starting point is 00:30:09 And my entire 12 plates, 12 plates a week. when I was Mike Shedahan. Now, once we got the problem about week 10, we were completely out of the past. Yeah. Yeah. Keep the body fresh. And obviously,
Starting point is 00:30:23 obviously everyone knows, keep everybody upright, don't tackle nobody and stuff like that. I remember even the days when we would have pads on, I got the point where I would just wear my shells. I would wear my shells over, I mean, obviously, I went with my pads and everybody knew they weren't going to hit me anyway.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I just, I just didn't want to. put no pads on until it was time to play ball on Sunday. Right. I mean, John would wear heads because he needed to be used to throwing with those pads on. But now, we warm up in them. Once we got the, we did a little team stuff. Then once we got the 9-07, hey, I went down there.
Starting point is 00:31:03 I would run, you know, a couple of rounds and not, uh, 101. We had the pads. But that's, but that's how, that's how Mike was. And it was easy for me to adopt a, my system because I had coach Reeves coach reeves was really really old school he learned under coach Tom Landry coach Tom Landry you had on plans on Friday whoa so shells were shoulder pads Friday Friday you had on pads on fast Friday oh yes goodness yes shells were shoulder pads and shorts not the shells that you're talking about like those look yeah the little
Starting point is 00:31:41 the little, the flitaph, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, that's not what shells were. Shells were shoulder pads and shorts. Other than that, you had on everything. And Dan didn't allow you to wear, you had to wear your full uniform. You had on thigh pads, knee pads.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Yeah, okay, that's all that. Yeah, that's Belichick. That's Belichick, too. Yeah, absolutely. Hey, had you out there looking like that man on that, in the equipment room? That's exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:11 He had all the pads on his arms and had a birdcage face mask. You come out there. That's how Coach Reeves have your ass out there. You come out there with Belichick and you try to come out there with no thigh pads, no knee pads. You don't have your hip pads in. You're going back inside. He had you wearing everything like you was the damn, the model in the equipment room on how to dress properly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Yeah, that's what it was. Those were what shells were. Shels were you actually shoulder pads and you got to have on shoulder. You know, back there, they don't have them now. You remember those grays, those cotton gray shorts? You probably had them in college. Okay. We had the cotton grave before we had the, uh, uh, uh, the, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, stuff, they were all cotton.
Starting point is 00:33:00 You know, cotton is right, right, right, right. Boy, after a while, you can't get that stench out of cotton. Man, boy. They get the stinking, huh? Man. Look, I don't think that's, and I know people are going to say, you know, he's making excuses. I don't believe that's the reason why they lost. He's just speaking.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Oh, in general. He had to, he had to train himself. He had to learn that this is what's expected. Look, I've been there. Not during the season, not during the season, training camp, we had a couple of, we had some three-hour practices. Not during the season. I think the longest practice we had, we normally like Thursday was our longest practice. we're out there two hour.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Normally on a Wednesday, probably out there like an hour 45. Friday, if it's really good, you get to 115. You're not going over 130. Because I'm trying to get to those wings. You know, probably, hey, you don't have wings and pizza. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Yeah, wings and pizza. So, you know, I got four wings, a biscuit. And I have pizza too. I got, you know, have pizza, had my own pizza. my stuff had my name written on it because everybody be done picked through everything man you know how everybody come in there and people don't be washing their hands they come in there straight with their gloves they got the gloves they got the gloves they're caught passing they're hit somebody nah hell come you laughing on you I said nah
Starting point is 00:34:32 I'm done with this I'm done so they started out like look I told Mike I said Mike all I want is four wings and two biscuits and a pizza I want pizza I want hamburger I say I say Mike these young's going to be washing their hands they come They come straight, they come straight off the field. And don't nobody take their gloves off. They still got tape on their fingers. And they go, I say, I'm done with that mic. He's like, all right, 84.
Starting point is 00:34:58 So they have, you know, 30, 40 boxes to have like seven, eight boxes of 21 pieces. And then they have wings and they have drumsticks and they have, I don't know why I keep calling short thighs. But, but. So they have that. And then they have, you know, like seven, eight boxes of biscuits. They have, you know, bags and bags of honey and ketchup and stuff like that. But I was like, nah, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I'm good. I said, so I'll get my pizza, my chicken. I go eat. You know, sometimes me and Burns, you know, we, because, you know, that's the time to cut the food. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We know how we.
Starting point is 00:35:39 You know how we do. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. But, uh, But I mean, that just goes to show you the greatest of my homes that he's won seven of those 30 games. The Vikings are 8 for 55, the Packers are 7 for 50.
Starting point is 00:36:02 The Bengals are 2 for 61. That wasn't necessary. I'm just saying, I'm just putting that out there. I know you're reading off. I'm just saying that wasn't necessary. The Broncos, we 7 of 66. Yeah, that ain't. What are the Ravens?
Starting point is 00:36:17 The Ravens are 3 for 37. my team's up there. So both of my teams are in the top 10. So I'm cool. Both your teams? Oh, now they both your team, nah. Don't do that, oh, Joe. I'm just saying, I'm just saying,
Starting point is 00:36:34 you want to, you want to show back to team the other night, but now they both your team, nah, okay. What you mean? I was, listen, I'm a Bronco fan. I'm a Raven fan. I'm a Ravens fan. I'm sure, I'm sure you're a Bronco fan. I'm just saying your faith in your Broncos,
Starting point is 00:36:48 it wasn't sitting too high. You weren't too voiceless. You wasn't screaming to the mountain. talks about your goddamn Broncos before that game. What was I screaming about? You said you didn't have any faith because the quarterback who was starting. I didn't. That's why I wasn't, that's why I wasn't as upset had I been,
Starting point is 00:37:05 had I would have been, had both started. If both had played and we lost, yeah, I'd have been disappointed, extremely disappointed. But with Stim, I know what he is.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Everybody knew what he was. I think Bronco country was trying to hold out fate that he could, he could do it. But they didn't happen. Man, stop. Well, damn.
Starting point is 00:37:30 I think everybody probably in Cancun by now, huh? They definitely probably out of Denver. I mean, but a lot of, but a lot of people, now, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:37:42 they live in the city where they play. We, a lot of us, we went home. I mean, you know, we were, I think I've been to Denver one time.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Denver's a nice city. Denver's a nice city. I wasn't able to see everything they have to offer, but the little bit, I did see it's a nice place. Food was good. The people were very nice.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Everything was very, very green. Obviously, I'm sure it's cold and snow in there right now. But it was cool. Oh. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He has to come back. He's going to have to fix that. What happened?
Starting point is 00:38:19 I mean, he doesn't have any come from behind victories when he's down by eight points in the fourth point. Oh, yeah. Now, it didn't help that he had some, you know, he had CJ Beatherty and he had some guys that he's trying to win with. But I would have thought that with Jimmy G or a Purdy, that we'd have at least one or two.
Starting point is 00:38:43 But I think it just goes to show you the greatness of Patrick Mahomes. That's what this tells me because he's at the top of the chart. The Guppies won four 70. The who? The guppies. You talk about the dolphins. Oh, my bad. I am.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Yeah. I mean, they just as bad as the ponies then. Don't do that. I'm just saying. Don't do that. We last time you all want to play off game. Oh, what's the point? What's the point?
Starting point is 00:39:21 What's the point? What's the point? What's the point? What's the point? Y'all didn't make the playoff, but y'all right back at home, y'all right with us? With Joe,
Starting point is 00:39:27 y'all got Joe Burrow. You say Joe one of the top three quarterbacks and y'all can't make a player off? Don't do that. What about last year? Did he get hurt? Yeah, he was hurt last year too. Oh.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't do that. You talk about, You talk about the guppies. I mean, we talk about your ponies. Because the same place as Dolph is at, the same place the Broncos at right now. Nah, y'all been underwater. We just got there.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Well, we got there two weeks, two weeks before y'all. What's the difference? What's it there? No, ain't no different. Y'all got there three weeks before us. We all in the same place right now. That's all that matter. This show contains information subject to,

Starting point is 00:40:40 Where did he have both of next? He ain't too far behind. He did all this talk. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, it's crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan. But Matthew Stafford got better weapon.

According to ESPN, John Weinfuss, multiple sources said that Kyler Murray trade value increased following Dante Moore's announcement that he was returning to the ducks. One less quarterback on the market makes desperation increase. One source told ESPN, Kyler is expected to be a top trade candidate this offseason and the lack of quarterback
Starting point is 00:42:36 prospects in the 2026 draft will only increase. the demand for him. Fernando Mendoza is projected to be selected number one overall by the Raiders, while no other quarterback in this year's class has proven to be worthy of a first round pick as of yet. An NFC source told ESPN that starting price for Murray could start with a second round pick. The source added that if the Cardinals can trade Murray, they will.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I think, I think, I think, Kyle Murray might end up in New York, huh? I think he might But yeah For some reason I don't know For some godforsaken reason I think he's going to end up in New York Versatile player
Starting point is 00:43:17 That can do a multitude of things Obviously he's not very tall But when he lacks in height He's somewhat good in other areas Aaron Glenn knowing how to use him To be able to manipulate His skill set And take advantage of what he can do well
Starting point is 00:43:34 Is a possibility I'm trying to think other teams that might need a quarterback. Raiders that's out, Tennessee that's out, obviously all the main teams of the Ravens, Texans, they're out, chiefs are out. Chat,
Starting point is 00:43:50 chat, any thought on other teams outside of New York Jets that could land, Kyle and Murray? I think Cleveland be in play. I mean, you have to look at, okay, NFC South. I think Tampa's good. Atlanta, is Atlanta?
Starting point is 00:44:11 good? I mean, do they want to bring Kyle and Murray in knowing that wherever he goes, he's going to be the starter? I don't think they create that quarterback controversy over in Atlanta. No.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Shook, they're sold on shook in New Orleans, I believe. I don't see his place for him in Carolina. Let's go to the NFC East. Dallas is good. The Giants are good. The commanders are good.
Starting point is 00:44:37 The Eagles are good. Let's go to the NFC North. Chicago's good Detroit's good Green Bay is good Minnesota Are we sure I'm going to throw two names out there
Starting point is 00:44:51 Without going through divisions I say Minnesota And I say maybe even Miami So my three teams For Kyle Murray New York Jets Miami Dolphins Or the Minnesota Vikings
Starting point is 00:45:09 Chad What you think, Chad? Are the Steelers in play? That's another one. That's another one. I'm thinking Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rogers give it one more run. If that doesn't happen, then the Steelers are also in play. I'm just trying to figure out.
Starting point is 00:45:27 But remember, I mean, the reports that, you know, that he and Rogers wouldn't see an eye-to-eye at the end of his tenure there. Well, hey, I don't know. I ain't no telling with Aaron Rogers. you know how he does. I mean, he loves that being in that position of power to be able to control the narrative, whether he stays or goes, and I don't know. We'll see where Cala ends up. Coach Prime has implemented a new system to hold players accountable taking their NIL money. Colorado will now issue fines for attendance violations. Among those
Starting point is 00:46:11 is $2,500 for mispractice. If you're late, it's going to cost you $500.00. late for meeting or film session, $400. No show meeting or film session. $2,000. Late to strength and conditioning. $1,000, a no-show strength and conditioning. $1,500. Late to treatment.
Starting point is 00:46:33 $1,000. No show for treatment. $1,500. In addition, Colorado players could be fined up to $2,500 for violation of team rules and could be fined up to $5,000 for public or social media misconduct. Both are based head. based on severity. Ocho, do you like this?
Starting point is 00:46:52 Absolutely, because all he's doing is preparing you for the next level. So everything that prime has in place is the exact same goddamn thing you're going to have to deal with at the next level, but just add another goddamn zero. That's all. So we're preparing. You're getting played like a pro. You have to conduct yourself like a pro. Therefore, now that you're getting NIL money, now you're going to get fine like a pro.
Starting point is 00:47:16 It's a part of the business. I'm glad that he implemented this. And I think other college colleges implemented as well so players can get a little bit more structure and discipline when it comes to their approach to the game, not just playing the game for said money that you're receiving. There are other factors that go into that once you become said pro in a sense. I like it for the simple fact, you have to have accountability.
Starting point is 00:47:45 And as a young man or young adult, there's going to be accountability. You can't keep showing up late to the job and expect to have a job. If you have intentions of going to the NFL, this is what it's going to cost. If you have tensions on being on someone's job, you keep showing up late, you keep missing. You're going to get fired. Now, I understand when these kids weren't making any money, it's hard to find a kid. These kids making money now. So you want to be a pro, you want to get treated like you want to get paid like a pro?
Starting point is 00:48:13 You get treated, treated like a pro. I don't know why people have a problem with this. So you want a guy to make $4 million and then he gets to come to practice. If he wants to come to practice, he'll come. If he wants to go to film study, he'll go. If he wants to go to study hall, he'll go. If he wants to go to work out, he'll go with no ramifications. Some got to give.
Starting point is 00:48:41 I'm just confused by, talking about, oh, this is not good. What do you mean it's not good? Wait, enforcing responsibility is not good? No. because you know a lot of people don't like responsibility they don't like accountability let me come let me show up because here it ohcho this is what you're going to get as long as i'm doing my job who cares if i'm late you can't do that in the corporate world you can't show up just because you do your job and pick and choose what time you want to walk in the people's office that's not the way that
Starting point is 00:49:15 work come on now come on now and in prime prime keeping it sweet you know 500 here a thousand here 2,500, but you better add another zero to that once you make it to the league. I wish you would miss a meeting late to who late to what but I also I don't understand oh Joe I just want to know in all my life I've never missed a practice unless I was injured I'm talking about how you are healthy you 100% and you just not go to practice or you just not come to not come to work what I'm just trying to figure out and to hear people people like, well, he didn't show up. I'm like, yeah, really?
Starting point is 00:50:03 I'm never, I never heard of that before. Is that, I'm like, how is that even possible? Yeah, never heard of that before. Not showing up, no. Missing practice for a specific reason, yes, but just not showing about the blue, no. Well, that's the, normally you call and not, not five minutes before you gotta go to practice,
Starting point is 00:50:25 you let them know in advance. That's what you would do on your job. You just don't say what, just not show up. You're like, look, there's an emergency. And as soon as you find out the emergency, you let the people know your employer knows that I'm not going to be able to make it to work. I have an emergency, a kid, my wife, my girlfriend,
Starting point is 00:50:45 X, Y, Z, whatever the case may be. But just to not show up or just not come to practice or to be, look, it's a different time now. I mean, I, it's different. It's just different now, Ocho. is and if you work in these if you work in these occupations you just got to accept that that's why i couldn't do it i just believe i just believe professional and pro one is is the occupation
Starting point is 00:51:14 of which you do and the pro is how you handle said occupation i just don't believe that you should just let oh whatever it's not that big of a deal he'll a couple of minutes late it always starts off as a couple of minutes then it goes to five then it goes to 10 then it goes to 30 then it goes to an hour, well, as long as he's doing his job, I can tell people that's never employed anybody or never run a business. And there more times than not, they're probably the people that showing up late.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Most of the time. I just, I, I've never, I've never understood it. I'm never going to, and I don't care. And here, look, whatever you need to do in your free time, you got free time, won't you? But then when it's time to do
Starting point is 00:51:58 club Shashay, when it's time to do Shashay Media a bit, let's get it done, let's be where we're supposed to be when we're supposed to be it. When you got your time off, do whatever you want. Go skydiving, go bungee jumping. Just get your, hey, just have them jump bungee your ass right in here when you're supposed to be at work.
Starting point is 00:52:17 That's all I care about. But I don't have a problem with Coach Prime. I'm sure there are probably other institutions. Maybe Coach Prime is the only one that advertised it, but I'm sure there are other institutions that when you're dealing with this kind of money and everybody doesn't make Jeremiah Smith $4.3 million. But guys that are making money. Well, because you have to be making money in order for them to take money.
Starting point is 00:52:42 So you, you, you, even jobs that I hated, Ocho, and I wanted to be late. My grandma, get your ass on up. You getting out of here? I don't want to go working a hard-ass son for 12 hours to make $5, make $10. That's it? You, yeah. What a hell you think? No $50.
Starting point is 00:53:11 day jobs back there. Man, I remember when I started working in Savannah and I was making $50 a day. Ocho, do you know what $50 a day was back in 1986, $87, $8, but that was a lot of money, $2.50 a lot of week. I know. And then half a day on Saturday, that's $25.275? What? Boy, you couldn't hit me in the ass with a ran out. That man, hey, that man count them Twitter. Hey, I have my hand out here like this in Ocho, 20. 60, 8, 100, 20, 40, 40, 60, 80, 100, 20, 20.
Starting point is 00:53:46 You were feeling good, huh? Feel rich. Hey, you feel like you're on top of the world of that money, huh? What? Yeah, you ain't got, listen, I know, boy, I know. Hey, hey, don't, I want no 100. Because 200, you don't feel like you got nothing. Give me the 20.
Starting point is 00:54:00 As a matter of fact, give me 10. Yeah, I need it stacked up. I need it stacked up. Make me feel, hey, make me, give me 10. Yeah, let me, let me all. Let me get that thing right there. Boy, I come home. Saturday after the eight.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Hey, roll that thing up in the rubber band. Get granted by $50. Get granted by $50. And the rest is to me. I put that thing in the rubber band. I feel like I'm on top of the world. Ocho, you know what I used to do, Ocho?
Starting point is 00:54:31 I go. I had a convenience, though, give me 21s. And what I do, I, hey, I get, that old Niagara spray and put that thing on the ironing board. You had a thing, this thing creled.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Nice and sharp. Like they just came out of the counter. You know, I bet? Oh, you couldn't tell me nothing. Boy, Adam, I ain't. I had them 20 around that death. Yeah. You ain't had no rubber band?
Starting point is 00:55:04 You had a rubber band? Now, I had no rubber band, don't you? Yeah, I had the rubber band. I brought a rubber band around that thing twice. Make it look like it something. It wasn't really nothing. It looked like something. I'm no.
Starting point is 00:55:16 She. Back there, I think I stopped carrying a bill for, I probably was like a sophomore. Okay. Cause I got tired of, cause you know you carry a bill for too much, you go out of the outline on your back pocket. I was like, nah.
Starting point is 00:55:31 And besides, they ain't have nothing in there but bills anyway. Because that's what my grandfather did, all the bills, he had his phone bill, he had a light bill, the gas bill all in there. So, but man, though there was a time. And so I was, I was just like, you know what, if I could get my,
Starting point is 00:55:48 Ocho, I was, when you think about Ocho, if we could get our ass up to go work a $50, $100 a day job, you mean to tell me you can't get your ass up to go work $100,000 a week job or a $200,000 a week job or a $500,000 a week job? You're going to be late to that. You only got to tell me what time to be there once. Just once.
Starting point is 00:56:13 one time well please think about it if somebody would have told you when I was working in those fields or you because I thought a thousand dollars I thought a thousand dollars was boy I said man
Starting point is 00:56:32 if the god ever let me make a thousand dollars at one time at one time so I'm going to do a job and somebody going to give me a thousand dollars ten one hundred dollar bills $20, fifth of dollars I love you.
Starting point is 00:56:47 And then that little bit of my, that little bit of money I was making, I was so happy, I was getting, you know, 5,000 every two weeks. And I'm, I said, my brother said, man, how much your chance? I said, man, I made $5,300. He said, guess I'm a big bro, man. What do you will make him? I say, huh?
Starting point is 00:57:17 He's going to double up by chip, tripping up by check. I said, man, let me get to work. I'm going to get some of this money. Yeah. That is eight. Oh, Joe, I said, I'm going to get me some of this. Is that there? Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Yes. I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna get it. And I'm gonna be on time because even when I was in college, I wouldn't make it nobody. And I wasn't late to practice. I didn't miss no practice.
Starting point is 00:57:54 You locked down. I'm gonna get this money. Oh yeah. And plus I had responsibilities. I couldn't let my grandmother down. She didn't do all she could. She'd have raised her nine kids, took my mom three and raised up as her own
Starting point is 00:58:07 and loved my mom three more than she did her own. Nah. couldn't do that don't you I don't get these kids and y'all can't make me get these kids I get it's a different generation these kids lazy
Starting point is 00:58:21 they're entitled and they're spoiled and their parents and grandparents has done them a disservice because they get their ass on people's job and you give you give them people your ass to kiss and ain't nobody kissing no ass in these days and times
Starting point is 00:58:34 when I'm paying you a salary I'm not been to kiss your ass that ain't happening Zion Williamson's signature shoe line is being discontinued by Jordan. Zion signed a deal before entering the NBA. It was the second largest rookie shoe deal ever, 75 million behind only LeBron James is 90 million. The Zion 4, which was released in 2025,
Starting point is 00:59:01 will be the final model in this line. I mean, you know, all that is because of injuries, not being on the court, not being able to play, you know. obviously he was supposed to be the next big thing he was supposed to be the next person to take over and be the face of the league at some point but the injuries the multitude of injuries I mean it hampered that still when he is healthy boy he's unbelievable he is unbelievable just the problem is hard to keep him on the court it's hard to keep on the court so I understand their decision to discontinue that that line And I don't know. I don't know, man. Hey, Uncle, did you see what he did the Wemby the other night? Or was that last night?
Starting point is 00:59:49 Oh, when he don't? I'm just saying it in general. I think it was the night. I think they played that. When they played, didn't they play tonight? Or they played last night? Hey, Unk, he did whatever he wanted to do. Yeah, he did what.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Oh, Cho, it's just that, uh, I think a lot of people wanted stuff for more for Zion than Zion wanted it for himself. I don't think Zion ever wanted to be in New Orleans. I've said this on several occasions. I thought Zion would have preferred to be the number three pick and go to New York as opposed to being the first pick and being in New Orleans.
Starting point is 01:00:29 Because he wanted to be in a bigger market. He didn't want to be there. He did not want to be in New Orleans. And it ain't where you go is what you do once you arrive. And, you know, he got injured his first year and he didn't do the necessary things in order to. And I'm not here to try to be little to a man, but I just think Zion could have done things,
Starting point is 01:00:55 some things better, taking better care of himself. I don't, the off the field of stuff, everything else will work itself out. Yeah, you make jokes about what someone did in their private life and then it becomes public. I don't care. I don't care about that. And maybe it did or it didn't play a role in him not being able to be on the court.
Starting point is 01:01:15 but I'm talking about his physical fitness, his training, his eaters, his dietary. And when I would say, oh, you don't know and this and that, now those people, now look. Yeah. That guy's never, he, he, he was supposed to be a perennial all pro.
Starting point is 01:01:35 I mean, on all the NBA selection. He was supposed to be a perennial NBA all-star. Yeah. When he's healthy, man, it ain't no denying it. You see what you're saying? Ain't no denying it, boy. He is that boy when he's healthy. When?
Starting point is 01:02:08 All the guys that was picked after him, everybody's played, look at her, John Moran, John Moran has been injured, but he's played 80 games more. RJ Barrett has played 166 games more. DeAndre Hunter is played a hundred and twenty two games more
Starting point is 01:02:30 Darius Garland who's been nicked he's played a hundred and sixty two games more damn instead of you know doing what eating like you're supposed to and also when you have that kind of access that he has he can hire a personal chef he can hire that
Starting point is 01:02:59 so many different avenues as far from a nutrition standpoint in regards of what city you're playing in. I mean, it comes down to the people around you as well. I mean, basically he's played six seasons, played 246 games. So basically that's 40 games a season. They play 82 games a season.
Starting point is 01:03:28 He's made about $154 million. He should have been in line to get another contract for another 300 million. And remember, Ochoa, they had to put all these clauses, his weight, his body fat, X, Y, and C. Keep it down. That's not how it's. supposed to work.
Starting point is 01:03:54 But when they don't trust you, they'll put things in the contract because they know you'll F it up. Yeah. Hopefully he gets somewhere and he can be happy and we can see because he's still only what, 26 years of age. That's it. He's 25, Ocho. Ooh, right? He's still a baby, huh?
Starting point is 01:04:35 Oh, Joe, a video of Tracy Morgan has gone viral of blowing off a homeless man that apparently used to bully him when they were younger and has been going viral on social media. Let's take a look at this video, Joe. We're always on my ass about tactical time. Let's do it. What, yeah? What's up? What's up?
Starting point is 01:04:58 Don't talk to me like I owe you something, man. I just say that. Boy, can I get something, please? No. When we were younger. Yeah, but I'm homeless, boy. How you're doing me. Thank you, man.
Starting point is 01:05:13 Oh, shit. Can I get a picture of my sister? Hey. Ocho, hold on. Before you go, Ocho, how are you going to talk about I'm homeless, boy? You see?
Starting point is 01:05:27 You see? And I've seen some things on social media. Oh, guys, people, y'all get mad at people and you won't speak to him. But y'all never, well, he worth this, he worth that. I told you.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Be careful of the toes you step on today. They might be. be connected to the foot that leads to the leg that's up to the behind that you got a kiss tomorrow so y'all the street committee stop telling people what y'all would do when somebody hasn't been did you wrong talk reckless to you and y'all told oh i would have done this no y'all won't you won't y'all get to say that because y'all want everybody to see make it seem like you got empathy i know a lot of you somebody did you wrong when you were younger, you not turning a cheat. I know that's in the
Starting point is 01:06:14 and I said that one time. I said that's in the Bible. I ain't in there. Go ahead. Okay. Let me go ahead. I do. The dude used to bully Tracy, I'm assuming, back in the younger days. That's what being back in the younger days. But he don't owe you nothing. We all got the same 24 hours. It's what you do with those 24 hours you got. Obviously, Tracy did his thing. And obviously, his didn't work out being homeless. I think his approach could have been a little bit different. Yes. The way he was talking.
Starting point is 01:06:44 But obviously whoever it was is somebody from New York and you know how New York folk talk. That's how they talk. And he still has not really animosity, but still has that, that bully mentality. And you can tell by the way he's talking, even though he's not in that.
Starting point is 01:07:00 Boy, I'm homeless. Boy, I'm homeless. I'm homeless, boy. Man. You know, hey, you know, He don't owe you nothing. He don't owe you nothing. That's why you're approaching asking for help.
Starting point is 01:07:11 It has to be sincere. It has to be sincere. He still got that mentality like he's still the goddamn bully. Because he's looking at it like Tracy, you got money. Forget everything that I may have said. Get it, forget everything that I may have done
Starting point is 01:07:29 since you're in a position to help. Can you help me? Hell not. Let me ask you a question. In the process of asking him for money, did you ask for him to forgive you for what you've said or what you've done? Obviously, and forget. You see, people, you, you, you, people quick to say, well,
Starting point is 01:07:46 when you, you, you so well off, and, and I am. And I'm a very forgiving person, but you have to approach me the right way. I get the same thing. Hey, man, take a picture with me. Please. Oh, I got to take this picture. Because they ain't going to believe. I say, my man.
Starting point is 01:08:09 I say, ma'am, sir. is that how you approach somebody that you want someone to do something for you? You tell them they got to do this or you're going to do that? I say, so if I came up to you and said, you're going to do this, you're going to do that, how would you feel?
Starting point is 01:08:26 You're right, I'm sorry. Okay. Yeah. But this notion that Tracy owes him something because he's a little down on his luck is just not true. If Tracy chose to give him something that's different.
Starting point is 01:08:41 That's more power to him. But Tracy said, I remember you. You used to bully that. That's what he's saying. I don't know if it's true or not. I wasn't there. I'm just going by what Tracy said and what we heard in the video.
Starting point is 01:08:54 You used to bully me. Oh, I know that was back then. Boy, I'm homeless. Boy, what you want me to do about that, boy? Mm-mm. Ain't knowing. Yeah, that, that's messed up too. That's messed up.
Starting point is 01:09:10 You got to, you got to be. I just, I just, I, You got to be more careful how you treat people, especially when you're young, because you never know when you've got to cross that bridge again. You never know when you're cross past again. You stepped on the toes. What a toes on, Ocho?
Starting point is 01:09:23 A foot. What's a foot connected to? Leg. What that leg lead to? But the toes you step on the day might be on the foot, connected to the leg that leads to the butt you got to kiss tomorrow. My grumbies always said and say, boy, be careful how you treat people.
Starting point is 01:09:38 Her famous thing, say, do old people always call your boy. She said, boy, be careful how you treat people because you never know who you'll ask to hang you your last drink of water. That stuck with me. That stuck with me. I don't burn. I don't burn no bridges on. You never, you never know who you will ask to do something.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Just because you're in a more favorable position today doesn't mean you'll be in that same position tomorrow. I try to treat everybody right, Ocho. I really do. I don't bother nobody, try to stay in my own place and my own lane. There are a lot of stuff that's going on. I don't care to talk about it because that ain't my business. But to treat somebody a certain way and because God has blessed them, you've fallen on hard times and to feel that person owes you something.
Starting point is 01:10:39 No. My grandmother gave my brother, sister, not everything but life. my grandma didn't want us to do anything for her we'd have to sneak her out of the house to buy a refrigerator sneaker out of the house to buy a washing drive liby that's them boys money liby we don't need nothing what you mean we're not miss me and spank ain't even in this position
Starting point is 01:11:06 if it's not for you so that is the only person I feel like I owe somebody something so for a person to treat me less than because maybe you're a little bigger. Maybe you are in a little favorite, more favorable position. Now the roles get reversed. Remember, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:11:31 The people that you meet going up, sometimes you'll meet them same people. Oh, yeah, absolutely. You have been on the elevator, Ocho? You're going up. They're saying, no, I'll wait. And guess what? You cut right back down. They're still right there.
Starting point is 01:11:50 God got a mysterious way. I just, I don't get it. And I don't. And I, and I, and I, read some of the comments. Ah, Tracy, you got that. Had you not been this? That's besides the point.
Starting point is 01:12:04 I just want to know. I would just like to see a lot of people that commented the person that treated them the worst. How do they feel about them today? They wouldn't have gave them that none. Because sometimes you won't even talk to a brother, a sister, a mom, or dad, or a loved one. But a total stranger that gave you their ass to kiss.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Now you're in a favorite position. You're going to like, okay, yeah, that's what I do. If that's the case, go to that to your mom in today that you hadn't spoke to in 15, 20 years. Go do that to a sibling that you hadn't done in 15, 20 years. Go do that to your child. So while you're talking about that you would do this for a total stranger, go do that for a family member. Go to do that for a loved one, someone that's been in your life,
Starting point is 01:12:48 and maybe you have a falling out. Things happen. Family members sometimes fallout, but I'll tell you something about old King Sharp. My grandma should say, boy, teeth and tongue are fall in. out. Because you know what happened, Ocho? You'll bite your tongue and teeth, bite your tongue and teeth get mad at each other. They might not speak. But O'Shen and Sharp, living sharp and stern and sharp, that ain't going to happen. Because for the longest, that was all we had with each other. I don't get it. I don't. I'm a very humble person. I help people when I can. I don't speak about the stuff that I do because that's not what God put on my heart to do to tell you what I've done for someone. in specific and always give specific instructions. When Shelley sends money somewhere or does something, Mr. Sharp says do not let anybody find out because if he does it,
Starting point is 01:13:44 it won't happen again. I mean, a lot of people walk around, you know, entitled, entitled to something always. You put all the work in, people you've grown up with.
Starting point is 01:13:54 Sometimes it's people you, you've associated yourself with, sometimes not even, not even real friend. They're a friend of a friend and they're comfortable enough to be able to ask you, you know, sometimes people approach you the right way when in need, you know, and asking for a favor. But everybody, many people are self-entitit and feel that because they associate with you, you owe them something and then put in no work.
Starting point is 01:14:22 Let me ask you a question, don't you? Who your best friend? That's not a fact, your best friend. Best friend, like literally best friend? Yeah. Probably. probably T.O. or T.J. One of the other. I look at my friends like this, Bucket and Burns. They're my two best friends. I think everybody knows that. I look at the situation like this.
Starting point is 01:14:49 If the roles were reversed, they were in my situation and I was in theirs. They would do for me like I did with this. Okay, definitely T.O. or T.J. Yeah. Ask yourself that question. If the roles were reversed, they had and you didn't. In a heartbeat, yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:10 There's your answer. In a heartbeat. There's your answer. Absolutely. I think a lot of, a lot of how we are because, you know, we were basically to ourselves like I said, we didn't go to a,
Starting point is 01:15:31 you know, we didn't really go to a whole lot of people's home. I didn't ever spend the night. I've never spent the night at someone's home, not a family member, not a friend. That's not how we were raised. We were raised to be close. to each other.
Starting point is 01:15:48 I had my sister, I had my brother, and when they, you know, my sister's eight years older to me, so obviously by the time I'm 10, my sister's age, the date go out. My brother's three years older, so he's gone to college. I'm a sophomore in high school. So I spent a lot of time to myself.
Starting point is 01:16:06 I got comfortable. I mean, I was, my grandma was like, boy, ain't nobody here to play with you. Ain't nobody here to hang out with you and talk to you. So I learned to spend a lot of times by myself. So when I went to Denver Ocho and there's Thanksgiving and those holidays, I'm by myself because my grandmother said, son, you got to be able to be able to be by yourself.
Starting point is 01:16:34 I'm cool with that. I got dogs. I get lonely. I buy another dog. You tell her I get lonely. I got three. They keep me working. They keep me busy right now.
Starting point is 01:16:45 But I don't get this. And I'm not saying, and I don't know the man. I don't know Tracy Moore. I know Tracy Moore. I know who he is. I don't know like that. And I don't know the gentleman that asked, but I think there's a way,
Starting point is 01:16:57 I think there's a way to approach that situation. I think he went about that whole situation wrong. And I think what, what looks like to me is that because he had Tracy Morgan, Tracy Morgan of a known name, he tried to put him on the spot. Cameras. He tried to put him on the spot.
Starting point is 01:17:14 And Tracy's like, no. I used to bully me. I ain't forget about it. I remember you. And then you're talking to be reckless. Every day I do. Now, you What are you talking about
Starting point is 01:17:26 reckless, man? Are you talking to me crazy? What? Yes! You need help when you're talking to me like you're still the bully? Yeah, all right.
Starting point is 01:17:37 How are you going to ask somebody for something, Ocho, and you reckless in your tone? Yeah, all right. I don't get it. But hopefully, look, like I said, at the end of the day,
Starting point is 01:18:00 Ocho, God knows Tracy's heart. Yeah. He knows what the gentleman did or didn't do, how he made him feel. Because at the end of the day, people might forget what you say. People might forget what you do. But a person will never, ever forget the way you made them feel. That is the most important thing.
Starting point is 01:18:25 How does a person make you feel? Not what he did or she did. How does that person make you feel? Yeah. Grannie did a lot, but it was, I felt secure. I felt safe. I felt loved. I felt hurt.
Starting point is 01:18:49 I felt seen. Anytime my brother would make me cry, I go running the tail to granny. She'd say, stop crying, boy. She said, take all that to make a man. She'd always tell her granny here. You know, granny ain't going to let nobody hurt you. Get on them back out there and play. I go out there and kick them and run off in the house.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Oh, Joe. Oh, Joe, I kicked him. and run in the house. Hell no. Oh, but other day, my brother said, bad, you know what I would hurt you so bad? Hey, I tell. You can't be snitching now.
Starting point is 01:19:51 I tell them everybody. Brother, sister, aunts. Boy, they had to pay me, Ocho. Ocho, I'll be listening to the door. I'll have my ear to the dog. Yeah. you got expelled from school you're going to skip school
Starting point is 01:20:15 to go meet who oh yo I walk in the room they're sitting on the bed they sit the Indian-style leg folding on the bed nothing you know I heard what y'all said
Starting point is 01:20:33 you're unk you was extorting them because boy if I wouldn't told papa they got kicked out of school or they snuck and met somebody you made him pay you
Starting point is 01:20:53 they had to pay. How much we're talking about? Dollar, $1.50, $2. That's all the pay. That takes you a long way back then, boy. Show what? Boy, that's in the, that's in the mid-70s.
Starting point is 01:21:07 That's in the mid-70. $2 with a lot of money back then. I tell you. Yeah, uh-uh. For sure. I would. I didn't feel bad about it. I needed money.
Starting point is 01:21:29 I would. I would, no. Yeah, no. I would. I told, yeah, for sure. They got kicked out of school. They're going to meet somebody. They're going to skip school.
Starting point is 01:21:43 You got to pay me. Keep my mic closed. Oh, yeah, sir. But look here. Barton and party, he ain't play. He ain't play. He ain't played the guitar.
Starting point is 01:21:54 He didn't play the drums. He didn't play at all, Ojo. He did not play at all. All that joking and that Kiki kid he'd I ain't no snitch now but I was back then okay okay I had to man money was tight I needed money that you need ice cream money milk money you know milk was five cent a card no cho back then you know you get the chocolate milk
Starting point is 01:22:26 yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah five cent man you know how many milks I could get for a dollar I have me four milk have me four milk sitting up on my tray feeling a feeling good huh Yeah. Ice cream. You get a nutty buddy. You get a superstar. You get ice cream sandwich.
Starting point is 01:22:46 Oh, yeah. I remember superstars an ice cream sandwich. Y'all had the ice cream truck back then, or you had the candy lady house? No, no. We had the lady house. But, you know, they sold the ice cream in the school. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:02 Oh, Joe, it's time to play or fade, presented by prize picks. Jalen Brunson. He will have 30, at least 35 points and assists. So when you combine his points and his assist, he'll have at least 35. Yeah. More, I agree. Trey Murphy will have at least four assists.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Trey been bawling. More. Cade Cunningham, nine and a half assists. So that means he'll have at least 10 assists. Denver, Detroit. He been bawling. More. He's nice.
Starting point is 01:23:55 Isaiah Stewart, at least six rebounds. More. I'm winning his money. $25 to win $150. Download the app today. Use code Shannon to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize big.
Starting point is 01:24:12 It's good to be right. All right. We're going to get you out here on this. It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. No graphic. Damn. Kimbradorwood Jr.
Starting point is 01:24:36 Unk. Baby Tom might get himself a ring, but I think the Seahawks are going to win it all. Good. Look, I think the thing is, the one thing that the Patriots don't do and they've never really done is beating themselves. Brable will have those guys ready to play.
Starting point is 01:24:53 They'll do what they're supposed to do. But, man, offensive and the defense, this is the best team they would have faced all year. they can get after your quarterback, they can shut the run off, they can run the football. JSN is a monster. He's a monster.
Starting point is 01:25:14 And this is a, they're going to have to keep this score down. I don't believe, I could be wrong, but I don't believe the Patriots can win a shootout with this team. They need to have a game like what they had against the Rams when they first won the Super Bowl,
Starting point is 01:25:29 a 17, 20, something like that, 20-23. You start getting in the 30s, 301, 35. You know, I don't see it. You see how to go up and down the field. They can score at will. They can. C2 Prince just wanted to support my favorite aunt.
Starting point is 01:25:46 And Neff, but please, are you guys coming to Philly? We need y'all out here bad. As we build out the tour schedule, we're definitely going to look to put some of the cities that we were supposed to come to last summer. We're definitely going to look to put some of those back on the schedule. Six foot eight Aquarius. Cam Ward deserved to be in the Pro Bowl.
Starting point is 01:26:08 I doubt a rookie number and overall pick would turn it down. Six foot, bro, I don't know. You're asking me to speculate. All I know is that I believe the other guys, the Joe Burroughs, the Lamar Jackson, the Aaron Rogers, probably the Trevor Lawrence. Nah, I'm good. I spend that time with my family doing other things.
Starting point is 01:26:31 Maybe they could have invited, but he was injured. I don't know if he's healed now. Remember, he got hurt in the last game. So maybe that factored in. I don't know. Keatrick Miller. What's up, Ocho, love man? It's my 45th birthday.
Starting point is 01:26:48 Yep, I'm on that shade by La Portier. Who's the best defender in AFC history? Ooh. AFC history. AFC history. Shoot. Ray Lewis, Air Reid. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:05 Bruce Smith was in the L.C. Take you. Currently the record holding most sacks in NFL history. D.T. Eric Thomas. I probably just, I'd probably just go with Ray. Yeah. I mean, Ed, Ed Ray or Troy.
Starting point is 01:27:29 I mean, take you, take your pick. Boy, them boys was hell, boy. Yeah, for me, I would say between, I'd say it's a coin flip between, I would kind of tend to lead towards a pass rusher because I think they can impact the game more than a livebacker. But for me, it would probably be Ray or Bruce Smith. The Go to 2022. Oh, Cho, any memories with Kobe that y'all can share,
Starting point is 01:27:59 RIP, Kobe, and Gigi and others. I'm trying to think this event I went to. I went to an event, got a picture with Kobe and everything. I think it might have been to honor Quincy Jones, if I'm not mistaken. And exchanged information. I remember I texted, I texted him like late December. Let me see. I'll tell you.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Let me see here, I'll tell you. I text him December 26th, 2019. Mm-hmm. asking for a pair of those, the PlayStation Air Force One's. He asked me like, what game is? I said, I showed him a picture of him. He's like, oh, okay, L.O.L.
Starting point is 01:29:09 I said, congrats on the new edition, a little King Mamba Jr. I said, a little King Mamba Jr. keeps alluding you. Hope all is well with you and the fam. He said, thanks, fam, my princes are tough enough. Love. I gave him to pray and handy salt. That was 20, that was 2019.
Starting point is 01:29:27 December, December 28th or 2019. And I think he passed like a month later, less than a month later. But he was, and I had a conversation with him. I was like, and I was talking to him that night, I was like, oh, man, you seem so at peace. He said the same focus and the dedication and determination I had to play the game of basketball,
Starting point is 01:29:50 I have that in animation and delighting. He said, that's my focus. He said, that's the only thing I'm focused on now, my girl my family my girls and this and i think he wanted to ask did he want to ask apostamously that was i mean you know i i it's hard to explain he he wanted he he won it before he passed okay about him in the back about the basketball right did basketball also you don't know you like okay you have this perception okay you see the guy on television and i had met him before because as a matter of fact i went back to oh there in atlanta i he
Starting point is 01:30:32 gave me a pair of shoes the hype that he had worn when they played the nuggets. But I had really, you know, I was back there with him talking to him and shot. But this was years, years, years ago. This was probably 20 years ago. So I did, you know, and I just, man, he dabbed me up and I say, hey, man, congratulations, man, you do a hell of a job, boy. You know you, you know your is, don't you? I said, yeah, man, I appreciate that, man.
Starting point is 01:30:56 Thank for the support. And I was just talking. I said, man, you seem so at peace. And he's like, yeah, man, I'm at peace. He's like, sharp, man. I'm at peace, bro. He said the same discipline, dedication that I had when I played, I have that night, have that right now is just a different area.
Starting point is 01:31:11 That's, oh, man, that's great. That's great. I said, man, it's a, congrats on everything, keep up the great work. Boom, that's it. And then, I mean, and I remember, as a matter of fact, I had just got to Miami because we had the Super Bowl that year 2020. That was like a month before the pandemic, Coach. So I had just got to, it was the San Francisco, Kansas City Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:31:38 I had just, I had just gotten, I had just landed in Miami, had gotten to the hotel. And it started coming. So you know, Ocho, you know how to think. I was like, man, I show where people would stop playing like this man. Cause you start, you start hearing stuff coming out, like, man, that can't be true. That ain't, that ain't real. That ain't real. And then as more starts to come out, you started like, okay.
Starting point is 01:32:00 Like, damn. That's crazy. Is this really real? Is this really real? Is this really true? And then it's like, oh my God. Oh my God. It's true. This is.
Starting point is 01:32:13 Yeah. That was crazy. I mean, I've had a. This is a Roberto Clemente. You know, he passed away tragically on a mission he was delivering and he ended up perishing in a plane crash. And I was like, oh my gosh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:27 I mean, I've had, oh my God. I've had my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my story is with Kobe obviously is uh i mean with mine there they're pictures to go with him uh he got me court-sized seats i'd never forget my my son might have been cj cj now is 22 22 23 now he was he was a he was old enough he had his little headband coby got his court-sized seats to sit to sit there and watching play i'd never forget so he was able to meet Kobe uh once and then i got a chance to eat lunch with Kobe at news cafe And this was that season where I was disgruntling when I was trying to get out of Cincinnati.
Starting point is 01:33:06 And that's the same game where I sat courtside with Denzel Washington and got my ass cussed out. For a bagging of fool and had that same conversation with Kobe after I had gotten in trouble with obviously, you know what I'm trying to say. After I got trouble. And he got on my head, he got on my ass about that and about locking in and focusing and trying to rebuild my and get myself back to where I fell from. And though that was a really, really dope conversation I had with him at News Cafe outside of that. And then obviously, you know, the past and I was at the Pro Bowl
Starting point is 01:33:45 right before, right, it was right before kickoff, huh? Right before Kickoff, I was getting ready to film and obviously came through my phone. That was crazy. Life is, life is so fickle, man. It is. You never, never know. Lazy Lee 34.
Starting point is 01:34:00 Can you wish my wife, Shea Spears, a happy birthday. Oh, we're going to get them shysty Shays. Oh, or the 57 Savage shirts, 58 Savage shirts. Shea, happy birthday. Lazy Lee, appreciate the support. Hopefully you did something for Shay. You guys went to a nice romantic dinner, got us, you know, I don't know. Maybe a bracelet, maybe something.
Starting point is 01:34:27 Yeah. To let, let Shea know that you appreciate it. how much you love. So thank you guys. Yeah, the shi-ish-de-shatee, we have to look into that. Trio Brown, can you wish me and my son, Cartier,
Starting point is 01:34:39 a happy birthday. I'm blessed to be a birthday twin with my little man. Hey, that's unbelievable, bro. I'm trying to figure how I can time that up my damn self. Why are you talking? You know, I'm saying, no joke. There you go.
Starting point is 01:34:52 That's what I'm talking about, Matt. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. To you and Cartier. That's unbelievable. That is unbelievable. You couldn't do it again if you tried to, but you don't have to because you already got a twin that's born on your day. You'll never forget that birthday.
Starting point is 01:35:06 You'll never forget his birthday and it makes it even more special because he happened to be born on that very, very special day. Happy birthday to you two. H underscore H. 23. What's up? Ocho. Do you think Kyle Shanahan will be on the hot seat going into next year? No.
Starting point is 01:35:26 To get to the, uh, the divisional round of the playoffs with all the injuries. with Bosa being out, with the linebacker being out, with Iyuk not being there, with a McCaffrey being banged up, Purdy missing time? No, absolutely not. Your Corey Eaton.
Starting point is 01:35:50 What's up, Uncanotio, my girlfriend, Michaela has surgery to have a gallbladder removed. Can you wish her a speedy recovery and give her your blessings? Absolutely. Michaela, speedy recovery. Praise. You know, the thing is about the.
Starting point is 01:36:03 gallbladder, Ocho, we got it, but we don't need it. I'm like, damn, why you put something in that? I ain't questioning God. Hey, he put it up for a reason, but it's glad we can function without it. But hopefully everything, the surgery went well. Wish her a speedy recovery, and God bless the both of you guys. But thank you guys. Thank you for supporting nightcap, and that's the least we can do.
Starting point is 01:36:22 Michaela, healthy recovery, speedy recovery. Ron Perk, hey, you speaking tonight, and this is why I tune in every night. I respect you and Ocho for everything that you do. Starting point is 01:36:40 That's what we do, Ocho, say, you know, our saying is, come for the sports, stay for the story. Mike, Mike, what's up, Uncle Ocho? If we took Ocho idea and did Legends versus Current Players with you and Ocho on the same team, who would be the quarterback? Me, because I can't run, so I'm Brady.
Starting point is 01:37:04 Destroy it. Mr. Shannon. What are your thoughts on a mini-pin? A men-pin? Cool dog or nah, I got three. They're okay. I'm not a men-pin guy. What's that?
Starting point is 01:37:19 A miniature pincher. Yeah, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, I'm not a, I'm not a, I'm not a, I'm not a, I'm not a, I'm not a men-pin guy. But they're cool. They bark a lot. They're in the terrier, short for terror. So that concludes this. episode of Nightcap.
