Listen to the Move the Sticks podcast
on the I Heart Radio app, Apple
podcasts, or wherever you get
your podcasts. After my Broncos
ran over the Cowboys yesterday for
179 yards and Bo Nix throwing
for 274 and 4 touchdowns,
Jerry Jones gave a brutal honest quote
about his cowboys. I don't know.
I don't know what's realistic.
Could one better player,
if we didn't pay too big of a price,
have a better player on defense possibly help?
I'm not trying to be cute,
but that's what you go get help
because you think that you could go get help
for your defense.
Are we one player away on defense?
I think we're not.
I think we're more than that.
But we're closer than it looks.
In my mind, is executing better on defense.
Ocho.
Yeah.
Now, this is what I don't get.
The reports are that he inquired about
Trey Hendritson from the, from the Bengals.
What I don't get, who had Micah,
that's four years younger than Trey.
Right.
But you say no to that.
Now, if you sign, if you sign Miles Garrett,
what you got back,
you're going to have to give up more to get a player like Miles Garrett
than what you got.
for Michael Parsons.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
Maybe he wasn't thinking because Jerry Joan did say they were better off defensively
with Michael Parsons gone.
He said that.
If it was a lie, he told it.
Yeah, you said when Kenny Clark came, it makes your defense better.
And you also said, we were no closer to winning a Super Bowl with Michael Parsons,
so what's going to be the difference when he's not here?
So all those things are now coming back to haunt you,
because now your defense is 31st in the league right above us.
I've always thought that with the wait, link.
I think the thing is Ocho is that you look at because they didn't have another player
opposite of Micah, who will see he got Rishon Gary now.
So now he has somebody that can, if you don't, if you don't double Micah,
he's going to get you, if you don't double Micah, he's going to get your quarterback.
Yeah.
He's going to pressure your quarterback.
So now, right now teams are more concerned about Micah than they are Rashon Gary.
Gary is getting a lot of one-on-ones, and he's winning.
I think he's probably up there close to his total for his career high.
I think his career high is like nine.
He's going to have double-digit.
I can see a scenario he has 13, 14 sacks.
And that's because of the guy that's opposite of him.
But I think a lot of this had to do with egos.
I think Jerry, you know, Jerry wanted to draw a line in the sand.
He didn't like the way the negotiation was going.
He felt he had a deal with Michael, when Michael shook his hand and X, Y, Z.
He said, Michael called the meeting.
Michael said he wanted to meet with him.
He wanted to talk to him.
And he thought that, you know, he thought one thing.
Micah thought another thing.
And from that point on, Jerry was done.
Jerry was not going to do.
And Jerry made abundantly clear.
If you play in Dallas this year, you're going to play under your current contract.
There is no, there is no contract extension.
You're going to play with on your, on your rookie deal.
Hey, and you understand that, especially where he's handled other, other contracts,
and waiting to the last minute to get him done,
making those players wait as well.
And it doesn't, you're not special.
You're not any more special than Dak.
You're not any more special than Zeke.
You know, not any more special than CD Lamb.
So when he, and one thing about Jerry, he's one of the few owners,
that you're not for the bully.
No.
You're not for the bully me.
I'm, I am the program.
Yeah.
I'm the program.
I think in that situation, Ocho, Jerry is a guy.
You got to make him feel good.
yeah Jerry you know I really want to be here X Y and Z so forth and so on and like I said the number that he got Jerry wasn't willing to go there but Jerry were at the time I guess it was going to be a number bigger than what Micah excuse me what Miles Gary got so it's going to be something around there now was he going to go in the blind and play 47 million hell no when the highest with the highest contract at that time for a defensive player
was Nick Bosa at around $32,33 million.
And you mean to tell me you're going to have somebody go 13, 14 more million per year
than the highest pay?
Hell no.
Absolutely not.
So Jared felt he made a very good, a very compelling offer that he was willing to go
make him the highest paid, give him $40 million a year annually.
And I don't know what the guarantee was.
But when that fell through, Jerry was no longer interested in, and, and, and, and, and,
dealing with it? He wasn't budging. He wasn't budget. He was set. This is what I offered. I'm not
going a penny more. Yeah. This is it. And like you said, now, because everything that was going
wrong before, you know, oh, you know, we didn't do this when Michael was here and Micah couldn't
stop the run and yada yada yada yada. It was a lot of Micah. I ain't heard him mention Michael lately.
Not. You're running through you. You can't. You can't mention them. And listen,
Michael Parsons, whether they were running through you or not, when it was there, he was
an impact player.
He can change the trajectory of a game at any point.
He can end games at any point.
He is a massive disruptor all four quarters.
Now you don't have that.
You don't have that.
No.
Look, the liebackers aren't that good.
Your corners, I mean, Bland is your best corner.
You know, Diggs is out.
He's on IR, so you got backups in there.
I think Hooker is injured.
Yeah.
They just don't, I mean, they just don't have guys that can, you know,
turn the lights out of the place.
And that's what, when Dallas was successful,
when Dallas was winning, they had that.
They had that at every level.
You know, they had a Ken Norton.
They had a, uh, uh, had Darren Woodson.
and they had a time and they had a Haley
and they had those guys.
They don't have that now.
Yeah.
They don't have that.
They don't.
And listen.
Offensively, they're immensely talented.
They're inconsistent.
They're inconsistent.
Yeah.
The Broncos have a really good defense.
They do.
The Broncos have a really good defense.
Very.
And if you are what you say you are defensively,
you should welcome that challenge.
You should welcome that challenge.
I thought the Broncos played an unbelievable ball game.
Look, I know the Broncos,
I thought the Broncos would struggle a little more defensively
than what they struggled with the Cowboys.
than what they did with the Cowboys' offense.
I knew the Cowboys' offense wasn't going to be able to, no, no.
Because they're not that good on that side of the football.
And they haven't been that good on that side of the football
for an extended period of time.
And because of the way they're built,
they're built to play with a lead.
If they don't, go look at the Cowboys when they don't have a lead.
You got those small guys, don't you?
Small guys don't held up well against the run.
Yeah, they undersize.
They undersized.
But one thing they can do, they can run on.
Boy, they can run.
They can run, sideline to sideline.
But when you come down hill at them,
I ain't, I ain't trying to go outside.
I'm trying to go right down here.
I'm trying to go, I'm going to right down 95.
I don't want nothing.
I don't want nothing with three letters,
with three numbers in it.
Because that's a loop.
I didn't come.
I'm going
north and south
and that's
that's what the cowboys are lacking
they lack size
they like a hail race
you got to have a hair
you need one Ocho
you got to have a dog
you need one
for any team to succeed
I know we talk about
we talk about skill set
and we always talk about
high character guys
you know and all this
these hey
F all that
you need three dogs
at the three
key positions that can change the game you need the dog that's a quarterback you need the dog on that
front four somewhere either at detackle the defense's end and you need the dog at receiver sometimes
you get lucky you get your dog and running back but the three those are the three most important places
where you need a guy you need that guy the guy that can change the defense and the dynamic
of your offense man stop playing oh
So he's not that good, but he's a high character guy.
Yeah, okay, get your head ran right.
It's going to be interesting to see what the Broncos does moving forward
because PS2 is going to be down for it.
They look like he might be placed on IR because he can shut down.
Hey, he is sensational.
He's amazing.
And he'll allow coop and those other guys to eat.
Bonito, Allen, those guys, strong.
They do a great job.
The Big Tick podcast from Bloomberg News dives deep into one big global business.
story every weekday. A shutdown means we don't get the data, but it also means for President
Trump that there's no chance of bad news on the labor market. What does a bacon, egg,
and cheese sandwich, reveal about the economy? Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer
staples, and so they sort of become outsize indicators of inflation. What's behind Elon Musk's
trillion dollar payout? There's a sort of concerted effort to message that Musk is coming back. He's
putting politics aside. He's left the White House. And what can the PCE tell you that the CPI can't?
CPI tries to measure out-of-pocket costs that consumers are paying for things, whereas the PCE
index that the Fed targets is a little bit broader of a measure. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg

What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi.
Nine times out of ten, they called me a massacist, rolled their eyes, or just asked, why.
Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies.
It's almost a dirty word, one that connotes conspiracy theory.
Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre?
Bad faith political warfare. And frankly, bullshit.
We kill the ambassador.
Just to cover something up, you put two and two together.
Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy?
Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years.
I'm Leon Nefok from Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries.

Hey, see, what's up, boy?
No, what on, what up?
What you like you by the wrong?
You got to rob something?
No, I'm just comfortable, man.
Okay, okay, okay.
Welcome to the show, Ram Safety Cam Curl.
Cam, how you doing, man?
I'm doing good, man.
I appreciate y'all for having me.
Appreciate you coming on.
The bye week, you guys are coming up to buy week.
So what did Cam do in this by week?
So take us through your by week.
You had the whole week off, so you got out of time, boom.
No, I ain't even leave.
I ain't allowed.
I stayed here.
I was tired because we did all that traveling.
Right, right.
more that whole week.
Yeah.
Then we traveled to London and played, like, within, like, that certain amount of time.
So I was real tired from all the traveling.
And we didn't get, I didn't get home to, like, Monday, 2.30 in the morning.
Damn.
Like, I slip all Monday, Tuesday.
I went to a facility a few days, you know what I'm saying?
But I just spent time with the family, really, just trying to let my body rest.
Okay.
You ain't do nothing outside of that, though?
Like, to get away, just to get away from the game of football?
I mean, yeah, like, you know, I take the kids to the park and stuff.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, just a little stuff.
I ain't doing nothing crazy.
Crazy?
Yeah.
I like it.
You guys are number one, the first, your first in red zone defensive touchdowns allowed,
30 points, allowed, eighth and takeaways.
What do you think the biggest reason you guys of having such success
on the defensive side of the football?
I mean, I feel like the system we got and the scheme we got,
it's built around our players.
And what we're able to do is, like, it's built for our skill set.
And, you know, we've been in this system.
It's our second year going on in the system.
So we all comfortable with each other,
especially in the secondary, like,
just the first place, like the first time I'd seen,
let's bring back a whole, like, secondary unit, you know what I'm saying?
Same group came back for a second year.
Yeah, usually every year the room changes, you know what I'm saying?
Right.
But, you know, since we did that,
that just helps us play even faster
because we're more comfortable with each other
and, you know, know how each other play.
Yeah, and now that you are in your second year,
of this defense,
how comfortable are you you know i mean i'm real comfortable like i'm real comfortable like i'm
real comfortable with with all my teammates you know what i'm saying and i just like flying
around those guys like we have to making plays you know what i'm saying you know trying to keep
doing that hey does your coach your defense coordinator do does he allow you to freedom to do things
off script that really really isn't part of ex and those but because you're the one out there on the
feeling playing the game and you have a feel for stuff can you go off script and do stuff based on
what you've seen on film i mean you know as long as you make the play you know what i'm saying
they ain't gonna be too mad but now they do emphasize on us not being robots though you know what i'm saying
they don't want to take the football instincts away from us you know what i'm saying so he lets
he let's just play how we play you know what i'm saying we're gonna always go within a scheme you know
in a play car but you know he lets us go out there and fly around okay you're known for your physical
style of play how do you get the how do you get the nickname cam bam uh i got that name like
in high school it was a uh i ain't gonna lie you know the uh the females used to call me that
you know what I'm saying oh okay okay okay that's what I'm saying you know I bring that
boom on the field too you know what I'm saying you know it rhymes you know but like yeah
it's just it's just a little nickname hey let me let me I got a question for you since they
call you can bam and you and you know for you know coming down here coming to the party
you think you think you would have been able to hit me with you were playing like if i just
happened to be in this area you think you would hit me yeah for sure like hey hold on you
laughing you see you think about hey log you're a little thin man up to 20 what you talk about
then what you what you was winning back then back then I was 2 30 right well all right
you got it if you're 2 30 then you got it yeah I would have
ran through you,
but I don't, man, don't do that.
Don't do that.
With your,
what was some of the factors?
What was so appealing for you
with signing with the Rams?
Well, honestly, like, off the bat,
just, you know, Sean McVeigh,
you know what I'm saying?
Just even before I got here,
just seeing him from afar and, you know,
hearing things about him
and watching his interviews and stuff,
like, that's just off the bat,
like a guy you want to play football for.
You know, it's just the type of guy he is.
And, you know,
I knew it was a winning coacher here.
You know, they just won the Super Bowl not too long ago.
You know what I'm saying?
You know, they always get into the playoffs, you know,
so it was just, it felt like the right fit.
You know what I'm saying?
It's a bunch of young, hungry guys on the defensive side
with some stuff to prove.
And, you know, I felt like I fit right in.
You came in the league, kind of like I came in the league.
I was self-for-round draft pick.
I was 192.
You were self-to-run draft pick.
And I never felt like I made it.
like I had to go out there every single year
and reprove myself
that like I got to give him one reason
and I always get this mindset I got to
when I went to practice camp I went
I said I got to give him one reason to keep me
just one yeah man
you see that route shop ran man you see that
he made you see how he picked up
that blitz just one I needed one
reason we're going to say yeah we got to
keep him another day what was your
mindset coming in you got
a seventh round draft pick
the commanders what was your mindset
because, you know, normally seven-round picks don't count by this.
They just, hey, they need somebody to fill out the roster.
They ain't really tried to get with no look.
But you got to see me because I'm going to make you look.
No, facts.
No, my mindset.
I mean, I knew getting drafted in the seventh round.
Like, I was just talking to myself, like, you know,
I got to take everything to the next level.
You know what I'm saying?
Just to try to make this team, you know, coming in.
Because I was the only Ricky D.
They had picked up their whole, like, draft process.
You know, they ain't picking no freight and stuff or nothing.
So I was the only Ricky D.
be in the room.
So it's like I'm going against vets.
I'm competing against vets.
You know what I'm saying?
People are already being in.
So I just knew how to take everything to the next level.
And, you know, all my vets there back then at 2020 season,
like they really brought me in, you know what I'm saying,
and showed me the way.
And I just sat back, watched them and learned and, you know,
started making plays.
Yeah.
You look, being in two different, look, Washington, L.A.
How similar or how different are the defensive systems
that when you were in D.C.
compared to what you are in right now in L.A.
I feel like it's a difference.
I feel like in Washington,
it was more of like,
you know, like a straightforward.
This is we doing.
You know what I'm saying?
We not really, we wasn't really doing no disguising.
Like, you know,
man.
Lime up and playing.
You're just going out there.
You ain't got no ski masks.
You ain't got nothing.
You ain't got no dark clothes on.
You're just going.
Like, that's how Dario is, though.
Like, you know, I like.
It is.
I know Jack, I play to give Jack.
You go, you're going to put your position.
You got to make the play, you know, that's all that matters.
And I feel like this Rams defense, it's a way more complex defense, you know what I'm saying?
We run tons of different coverages.
Like, it's coverages that I'm learning about this year.
I ain't even know it was coverage, you know what I'm saying?
So it's a real complex defense, and it fits us because we got real smart players on our defense,
you know what I'm saying, that can think on the fly, you know what I'm saying?
And we communicate very well.
like this defense communication is key for sure yeah and it's funny when you talk about
defense is being very complex and you're able to do more with the defense when you had the right
players with the right skill set and can communicate it brings me back to that 2000 ravens
that 2000 early 2000 Steelers defense but kc they used to run defenses that wasn't even on film
yeah they weren't on film and people were always out of position but they were so good
with a great understanding of being able to communicate
and when the ball snaps,
they have fly back through exactly where they're supposed to be at.
But it was so confusing for me as an officer player.
So the fact that you guys are able to do that
to run complex stuff that you really don't see on film,
you really don't know what's coming.
And keep an offense thinking all the time,
especially at the snap and after the snap of the ball,
you'll always have an advantage, always have an advantage defensively.
For sure.
Man, Cam, I'm looking at you guys the schedule.
You got the Saints, Niners,
Seahawks, Bucks, Panthers, Cars, Lions, Seahawks, Falcons, Cardinals.
Damn, y'all got a lot of birds up in there.
The Seahawks, the Cardinals, the Seahawks, the Falcons, the Cardinals.
Y'all would try to put some of these birds out of their misery.
Yeah, yeah, we're going to do that for so, man.
That's the missing.
Hey, speaking of, man, what has it been like, man, to watch Pooka Nacua, man, and Devante Adams, man.
Devante still, I know, you know, we talk about some of the best receivers in the game.
You know, they mentioned Jamar Chase and Justin,
Jefferson, you know, J.S.N. and some of those younger guys. But to me, Devonthe Adams is still
the best rock runner in the league. Man, what's it like playing with him? But it's crazy, man.
Just starting off like at practice, just watching every day at practice and being able to go
against those type of guys every day, it makes us a lot better as a defense. Because every
team, you're not seeing that every day. Oh, you know, hell, no. So that's just making us better.
and then to add Matthew Stafford in the mix
with those two, like, it's crazy,
but, like, it's just, it's amazing to see in practice.
And it's hard to, like, follow the quarterback eyes,
and Matthew Stafford's looking over here
and he throwing the ball over there.
He's looking over there and throwing the ball over here.
You're like, Coach, why do you go there?
Because he was looking over there.
You said follow the quarterback eyes.
He'd do it at us in practice, too.
It's not just them.
He'd do it to us, too.
Hey, we saw it on the take,
because in the game, you didn't know it out
because I was at the Super Bowl.
When he threw, when he did that in the Super Bowl,
when he threw,
and he was looking like this here,
and he threw the ball and Cooper Cup ended up catching it.
It was right by the,
because the linebacker was dead right.
If he looks at him,
the linebacker was going to pick it.
But because he was looking over here and he threw it,
he's like, oh, he didn't fit to throw it.
Like, oh, my goodness.
He got that.
Going right off his earhole.
That was nice.
That's crazy.
We see that every day, man.
It's crazy to watch.
Hey, you know, Coach Yardt, still a receiver coach, huh?
Yeah, yeah, my dog.
Yeah, Coach Yarp, that was my coach at Oregon State.
For real, yeah, no, y'all's a cool dude, man.

The Big Take podcast from Bloomberg News dives deep into one big global business story every weekday.
A shutdown means we don't get the data, but it also means for President Trump that there's no chance of bad news on the labor market.
What does a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich reveal about the economy?
Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsize indicators of inflation.
What's behind Elon Musk's trillion-dollar payout?
There's a sort of concerted effort to message that Musk is coming back.
He's putting politics aside.
He's left the White House.
And what can the PCE tell you that the CPI can't?
CPI tries to measure out-of-pocket costs that consumers are paying for things,
whereas the PCE index that the Fed targets is a little bit broader of a measure.

What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi.
Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked, why.
Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies.
It's almost a dirty word.
one that connotes conspiracy theory.
Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre?
Bad faith political warfare and, frankly, bullshit.
We kill the ambassador just to cover something up.
You put two and two together.
Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy?
Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years.
I'm Leon Nefok, from Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries.

man oh cho what micha he just can't let it go last night he blasted how the cowboys have treated
trayvon diggs he told yori epstein of yahoo sports honestly i feel like they effed my dog over you know what
i mean he's coming off a catastrophic knee injury and i just think they did they did right by him i don't
think i didn't think they did right by him he didn't participate all camp he's going out there playing
week one and two, and I just think
you don't do that. I just don't
think you do that to a player like that.
And the type of knee injury that he had,
they forced him out there. He has
no reps, really. He's telling me
he was in warm-ups phase during
the week one. Even with
the ramp-up, I just feel like,
you just don't do that. I just feel like they
screwed him over. The organization let him
down. You know what I mean?
You just don't do that to a player.
And I think it was mad
wrong, and I just prayed for him.
Now, you know, Micah and Trayvon are really, really good friends.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It seems to be he's echoing what Trayvon relayed to him.
Yeah, what he can't say itself.
What he can't say, I tell Michael, Micah ain't here.
Michael, you'll say it.
I can see where Micah's coming from.
Also, coming off injury like that also, but you have to think on the Cowboys end,
well, if you're coming off injury, you know, why don't you, won't you be here with us?
why don't you rehab with us so we can we can
watch you and we can dictate how far long you are
but when you're not here we don't know
yeah you don't know so when you do come back
you know we think you're ready because you're taking care
of your business away from the facility
you know doing it your way with your own doctors or whatever that's what you think
that's what you may have so now we don't we don't know
so when you come back here we're expecting you to be ready
yes so that's what that comes from and putting them out there
if you're not ready now you come back and say oh you're not ready and you're out there doing
things your way and you weren't here if you're here and you're not ready that's one thing
you're there and you're not ready because you know we can we can update it okay the progress
Jared's going to come ask the trainers how far along is Trayvon yes will he be able to go week
one do we need to put him on the pump list what do we need to do well you're telling us if
here training that you're on schedule and so you no longer need our training staff because
you believe the training that you have is going to put you in position to be where you need
to be right and when they got that kind of money tied up in you it's going to be it's tough it's tough
which is why they took that 500,000 from you yes oh you don't want okay we know it let it let us recoup
some of this let us get some of this back they give you a better understanding on how serious we
are and how upset we are that you're not taking the owners and getting yourself prepared for
the upcoming season here in the facility where we can document and keep tabs on how far
long you have to go so we know what to do so we know to do on our end so I think the thing is
Ocho is that they put him out there if I know he's not here if I put him out there I'm going to
make it look bad so that way we release it ain't nobody going to feel man man you see how
my man played yeah listen but I know what he had he had
a bad injury. I don't know
if it's the same because he tore his ACL and then he had another. I don't know if it's the same
knee. Ash, was it the same knee that he tore his ACL or was it the different knee? But in any
case, you know, he had two injuries, two knee injuries in the last two years. That's that you're
asking an awful lot, Ocho. Asked an awful lot. And here's the thing. He's predicated. He's going to
take risk. You can take those risks when you have a defensive line that can put pressure.
When you had Michael and you had DeLaw playing at extremely high level.
that was collapsed in the pocket,
you could take those risks.
Now he's still playing that same way
and they don't get that same pressure.
So guess what that means?
Big plays giving up.
Yeah.
It's tough.
I see both sides.
That's the thing, Ocho.
And that's what I tell.
Look, I understand that you want to be away from it
because I'm going to beat Ocho.
I'm there all, I'm there from when we get back in training camp,
I'm going to get really one week away.
that's the buy week.
Other than that,
I'm there all of September,
October, November, December.
Hopefully, if we're lucky,
Cowboys hadn't been so fortunate,
all of January.
But I know I'm going to be there for five months.
And I know you don't want to be there in the offseason rehab,
but you're there February, March, April.
Guess what?
OTA is starting April.
Yeah.
Damn, I ain't even get a chance to get a break.
But Ocho, when they got that kind of money invested in you,
when you got that kind of comment,
contract, I'm telling you, this is the expectations that they have.
And, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, you know, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
coming off that serious injury, you better be on your, you bet, you better, you better, that thing
better be. Yeah.
Hey, you better be able to do the tussy roll with that knee and everything on you.
Oh, hey.
All that.
God, they're going to be looking.
It's like, bro, what, why, why?
weren't you here.
I know one thing.
Even though he's not ready,
he probably won't be a Dallas cowboy.
No.
I don't see a scenario in which he will be next year.
Listen, Trayvon, boy, you can see this boy.
We come on down to Cincinnati, boy.
You're going to love it.
You're going to love it.
Don't go down to Cincinnati.
They ain't going to put no pressure.
They're worse than the,
think about it.
They're worse than the cowboy, Trayvon.
And you see what's happening to the secretary in Dallas
and Cincinnati worse than them.
Hey, listen, come on down now.
Come on, we got Newton, DJ Turner,
Cam Taylor, we can add you to the pot.
The more the better, the more to marry her, help us improve.
We're ranked 32nd right now in defense.
You can come in, we need an impact player.
Huh?
We got Trey Hendrickson on that edge.
He won't be that next year.
Huh?
He won't be there next year.
Okay.
Let me pitch my stuff to Trayvon.
Well, don't lie to him and get him there.
And the people that you say going to be there,
not going to be there.
All right.
Well, we need an impact player.
And he can come back, you chill, rest, get your knee together, come back next season.
Boom, by that time, you're going to be, we're going to get the Trayvon Diggs or old.
And number seven is available.
And you, you ever call the store and they tell you they got something?
And when you get up there, they ain't got it?
Oh, I thought we had it.
That's why I called.
Because you think I would have brought my ass up here?
If you didn't have it, I came up here because you told me you had it.
You could have told me that on the phone that you didn't have it.
And by the way, you know you didn't have it.
Now you didn't got me up here for no goddamn.
Now you got me up here.
Well, I'm sorry.
No, you're not sorry.
You could have took your ass right behind,
got from behind this counter and come back there.
Hey, but listen.
Oh, I'm sorry.
We have looking at.
Hold on.
They get slicking with you too now.
Well, since you're here, you mind if I show you something else?
No.
Show me.
The door.
As a matter of show, I walk my ass in there.
I walk up out of here.
no it's like i go if i go looking for something oh cho do you have uh uh the brown loavers they come
back we didn't have the brown but we got black and ox blood i didn't ask for either one of those
i asked for brown yeah well no if i don't want it black or ox blood guess what i said you have
a black loafer or ox blood loafer that's what i would have asked for i didn't ask for
hold on hold on you just slick just you just slick through that word in there that that that sounds
like a big word and that sound like a color.
Well, Oxblood? Yeah, what, what's
that? What's that? Hey, you, hey, you get,
you, hey, you're getting real fancy. You get real fancy.
Nah, who?
Ocksblood. Yeah, what that mean? What color that is?
What part of the family? Reddish.
Reddish? Yeah.
Yeah, why you didn't just say red then?
Because it's not red. It's like a,
it's like a, hey, I mean, you, you, you, right, there's no need to be fancy.
So, okay, how about this here? We don't have, we don't have, we don't have, we don't
have, we do have a cognac
or we have a black. How about that? Is that better?
Cognac. Okay.
So why do you, we talk about shoes and we talk about alcohol?
We talk about shoes. The color shoes,
colors, uh, shoes coming.
Cyniac, okay. Colors of dress shoes.
Okay, I got you. I got you.
Well, why don't you just, but why don't you just say burgundy?
Okay.
Yeah. You, hey, you real.
Boy, you're real.
Are you fascinated at night?
Okay.
With cognac.
Or Burgundy, my bad, Burgundy.
There you go.
But I just look.
And I get it.
You should be one of the happiest men on earth.
Yeah.
You're somewhere, I mean, if you didn't feel wanted or appreciated in Dallas,
they gave up one of their better players
than two first round picks for you.
And they paid you a boatload of money.
So I'm not even worried about Dallas anymore.
Yeah, it would have been great to finish my career there.
But it didn't happen.
For whatever reason, it didn't happen.
It didn't happen.
Man, Dallas is a lot of thing on my mind.
Yeah.
Well, listen, it might be the last thing on his mind,
but when reporters ask him certain questions,
then he's going to answer it.
I just say, you know what?
I'm not there anymore.
That's not,
I still have great friends in that locker room.
I wish them nothing but the best
unless they play the Packers.
But other than that,
I don't really care to talk about the Cowboys anymore.
Yeah.
We know, we know, first of all,
they don't need to ask Jerry about Micah either.
We know how Jerry feels about Micah.
We know how Micah feels about Jerry and the Cowboys.
It's understood.
See, what's understood?
don't need to be discussed.
I mean,
there's a certain situation,
why would you ask somebody
when you already know the answer?
Right.
It's not just because now you won't clicks now.
You know how that man feel about the Cowboys.
You know how Jerry feels about Micah.
Yeah.
Hey, I'm not, I'm not even, I'm not even wasting my time.
Even having a discussion about that.
But it is a situation where, you know,
digs maybe he felt that he was healed maybe he felt that he was he was healed well enough
ocho instead of having to be in dallas he could rehab wherever else he was i don't know where
he i don't know if dallas is his home i don't know where his home is but maybe he had felt
he had progressed to the point that he no longer needed to be up under their watch right
but when you come back and they give you a physical and the knee is not where it needs to be
they're going to feel some type of way
because you could
their feeling is that you could have been here
and this could have progressed in a positive manner
because at the end of the day,
we're paying your money,
we're going to get you on the field now.
I'm just saying, I'm just saying,
I understand all that other stuff that you're saying,
but we're trying to get you on the field.
Yep.
So we got the Steelers,
reunite Aaron Rogers with his former white.
wide receiver. Pittsburgh is signing
with veteran wide receiver.
NB.
Valdes Scantling, Aaron's former
teammate with the Packer. Scatling, only 31
years of age. He began his professional career in Green Bay
playing on
the Pack
21. His 2020 season,
he had
690 receiving yards, 6
receiving touchdowns, which are both
career highs.
He also said that
he also
I think he won two Super Bowls
he won two Super Bowls with Mahomes
if I'm not mistaken
I think he went two Super Bowes with my homes
Ocho you like this pick up
I mean it's cool it's cool it's a player
that's a player that's familiar with Aaron Rogers
Aaron Rogers is also familiar with him
I think he's going to be fine
you got another speedster
you add more speed you already got Calvin Austin
you got DK
now you add NBS who also can run
and is a deep threat
you can stress the defense
So we're going to see how he's used, what positions they put him in,
you know, they put him into, to make the plays and use his skill set to his strengths
and helping that offense.
I think he's going to be all right.
I think he was there.
He was in San Francisco earlier this year and got released from there.
I think he was in Buffalo last year.
So hopefully he filed a home there he can stick.
Like I said, he's only 31 years of age.
He's kind of bounced around the last couple of years.
But hopefully he can get there.
stay for to the end of the season.
Oh, Joe, Kendrick Perkins appeared on Out the Mud podcast.
He said, I don't F with Jha.
You know why I don't F with Jha?
The reason I'm so mad at you, ESPN spent million of dollars to do an all access on
John Memphis.
They did that for Jop.
Bro, I was like the one that was praising Jha.
We anointing you as the chosen one and you F it up.
Guess what?
Not only did you make you look bad,
you made me look bad.
They recognize you because of me speaking highly of you.
It ain't no coincidence that you went from having three games on ESPN to 52.
Jodd responded, you know the reason I don't, for my notoriety.
You're the reason for my notoriety, Perk.
Come on, dog.
You're showing them why I don't F with you.
I don't F with your kind.
Hey, well, listen, they went from three games of being televised because of the job.
because of his play on the basketball court.
You know, he's very energetic.
He's very animated.
Plays above the board.
He's exciting.
He's an exciting player.
That is why people have gravitated and ESPN even wanted to, you know, go and do whatever it is and spend the millions, you know, to go see him.
Jaws made some mistakes.
Some mistakes I'm sure he's learned from.
He deserves to be in the conversation when it comes to talk about the better basketball players in the NBA.
The Andy Steph Curry's, the LeBron James, you know, the Wimby, the Kevin Durantz, James Hardens.
He belongs in the conversation with some of the better players in the NBA, despite him being as young as he is.
And listen, we all make mistakes, huh?
We all do it.
I'm sure.
I'm sure at this point he's learned from him.
He's not going to get too many more opportunities to make mistakes of that magnitude and kind of stain the NBA shield.
But, I mean, he's on the right path.
he's a dynamic player
and one of the reasons why he says
this is the reason what you're doing right now
is why I don't mess with you
what you look right now? Why are you even
conversing and you know this
I don't think
to be fair
perk is not the reason for
Jaws notoriety. We have to accept
responsibility and accountability for our own
actions. Perk having to talk
about it on ESPN
as we all had to do at one point in time
right
we were disappointed.
We were disappointed when it initially happened.
Yes.
So we're like, you know what?
Hey, he's young.
I mean, John's 21, 22, 22, 23 years of age,
put himself in a bad spot.
Let's hope he learns and grow from it.
And the next thing, you know, guess what?
He's back on IG and he got to stick out again.
And I'm like, come on, Jha.
You just, you just went to, after you were suspended to begin with.
And you went there and you talked to Adam Silver.
and, you know, you gave this man your word.
I'm assuming that you gave him your word
that you would not find yourself in this position again.
And so that's what, and we all had to talk about it.
And I think the thing is, what we try not to do is like, you know what,
you're not your worst mistake.
A lot of times, that's, that's, we get labor.
We're never our best actions.
We're just our worst mistake.
Yeah.
And so I think, you know, look, I don't,
I don't want to speak for Perk.
You know, I know Perk.
Obviously, I know Perk started out.
He was on Fox.
He was undisputed with skipping out.
And then he went to ESPN and carved out a niche for himself.
But, and maybe, maybe is a situation where, when John said, look, I disagree with,
with John, when he says, Perk is the reason why for his notoriety.
Maybe, maybe now, like, when we talk about it.
about stuff, Ocho. Once we talk about something on here, I'm not going on Twitter to try to
to try to highlight it again. I'm done with it. Once I talk about it here, we talk about
the show, I'm done with it. I'm not having a conversation with anybody else about that
situation. I'm done with it. I've already said what I would. I've already said what I felt
I needed to say on that situation. But it's tough. It's really tough, Ocho, in this business,
if you have relationships
and somebody that you have a relationship with,
they mess up.
Because now people are sitting there like,
this here,
what you're going to say?
You're going to say. You ain't going to say nothing.
Yeah, they wait.
Yeah.
I mean, it's like, it's like,
that's what they're waiting.
They're waiting on to hear you say something.
So for the most part,
I just try, like,
if I have a relationship or I speak to someone,
I don't really say anything about it
Now, the LeBron situation
Everybody knows how I feel about LeBron
So forth and so on so they automatically assume
That I'm kicking it with LeBron up in Brent Wood
And any time he has an event, I'm there.
I'm not.
People just choose to overlook
When I call Braun out or I criticize something that he's done.
They overlook that, oh, the clutch checks must not be coming no more.
The direct deposit ain't going to hit no more.
Bro. No, I just, if he's right, he's right,
if he's wrong, he's wrong.
It's simply.
It ain't no more than that.
Clutch, don't send me no checks.
I was, I was employed by, I was employed by Fox and undisputed.
I was employed by ESPN.
Now I have, we, oh, Joe, we have our own thing.
That's it.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Y'all try to make it out to be that.
Because when I, if I criticize Ron, it's the check.
If I don't criticize Ron, oh, see, now you, you, you talked about this, you talked about
that.
No.
That's what, that's what, in this face, that's what,
you have to do. It's like, oh, if I'm a fireman, oh, you went in that building and put that
fire, you ain't going in this building and put that fire. What kind of boy job is that? I'm a fireman.
So when you, when you do, we do, we have to talk about certain things. We just do. And you want me to
give my honest opinion, my honest take on certain things. It's not about a like or dislike because
I don't know the guys well enough to have an opinion one way or another. All I'm talking about
is the guys on the court, the basketball play.
Now, when we dealt with y'all,
we had to talk about the gun and the club
and the IG stuff like that.
We had to talk about that because that wasn't basketball related.
But for the most part, when we critique or analyze,
we keep it to on the field unless they do something off the field
and we have to talk about it.
But trust me, I've never gone to a producer,
be at an ESPN, be at an off, be to say, ooh, I want to talk.
about this. We talk about it. We talk about it. If we don't, we don't. I'm good either way.
That way, I don't really get involved in the topics. I talk about anything. I can talk about it
because I follow football close enough. I follow basketball close enough. I follow the things
that we're going to talk about Ocho close enough that I can have an intelligent, honest conversation
about it without making it personal.
Right. Oh, you did this.
I'd never called for a video of Russ
and his bloopers.
Y'all get mad at me talking about
what it was, no, it was
Russ hit the top of the backboard. It was
Russ the air balled it. All we did
was, all I did was talk about it.
That's what I did.
Just like when he got the triple doubles, when we was talking
about Russ getting the triple double and we were
highlighting him, nobody had a problem.
So what you want us to do when he's not playing well or he's not,
and he's turning the ball over?
Should we not talk about it?
Right.
That's how it works.
When Tom Brady played good, I had no problem saying Tom Brady played good.
But when Tom played bad, it was a, I had to say he played bad.
When Peyton Manning played bad, when Aaron Rogers played bad,
when Patrick Mahome, when Tony Romo, you just do it.
Now, I understand when you look at it like, oh, you say,
said this, but you ain't say this about the black guy.
You said it.
Really, dude.
Is that where we are right now?
That's what we're doing.
Yeah.
I look at the plate.
I don't say, ooh, that black guy threw a touchdown.
Oh, the white guy caught the touchdown.
I'm like, bro, what are you doing?
Yeah.
I mean, listen, those two, they got to get it.
They got to get it fixed.
Maybe they won't.
But obviously, if they don't fix it,
I think maybe the takes on the takes as far as, you know,
Kendrick Perkins, when it comes to talking about John Morant,
you have to be fair, you know, and that's fair.
98% of the time when you do talk about Jaya,
his play is going to speak volumes.
It's going to speak volumes.
And the whole notoriety comment,
Jaya was going to be Jaya regardless, no matter we win,
no matter what NBA team he was playing for,
it could have been down in Shanghai.
He was going to make ESPN in Shanghai.
Shanghai. Yes, P.M. was going to travel to Shanghai to go feature and show everything he had been doing because he is box office. He's one of those type of players that puts butts in the seats. That's just who he is. Based on his skill set, his makeup, his DNA, that's just who he is. So, I mean, no one is responsible for that outside of the individual himself.
Yeah, yeah.
But, you know, notoriety is infamous as that you're known for things that you would like not to be known for.
Ah.
That's, John did that.
DeAndre Aitin is trying to stay motivated on the court and reveal that several of his teammates have made it a habit to troll him off the court as motivational tactics.
They all have their own little thing to get my head all mixed up.
Austin Reeves is my guy.
Luca is my guy.
but my wings and my forwards, yeah, they'd be trying to get me ticked off before these games
just to get me rolling.
I'm starting to see it as a trend because I don't get a break until we're on the court.
Then it's all serious.
I'm like, oh, this is the thing y'all want me to do.
Y'all want me to get on edge.
Y'all want me to be fired up.
I like it.
Dudes really care.
On Sunday night, the big man tally 22 points and grab 15 boards.
So maybe it's work.
It ain't working tonight because I think they're losing to Portland.
right now.
Listen, the funny thing about it, listen, he's been a part of the locker room for a very long
time.
Anything that happens to you on or off the court, you know the jokes are coming.
The jokes are going to fly always.
And then, listen, whether it be a motivating tactic or not, they're going to make fun
of any situations that you have as long as it was nothing that was harmful.
Oh, them jokes are going to fly on.
You've been in the locker rooms now, still to this date, certain things, certain jokes still
fly that that resonate and then stuff happens to you that's going to stay with you forever you know
and your teammates man they're going to make fun of it all the goddamn time oh joe what happened
can you explain this to me what happened how does a guy making a hundred plus million dollars
need motivating i mean hey hey uh well it's different now you know did this nba nine sometimes
you get that kind of money and you relax and you sit down there are very few that make make
a hundred million and still play the game like they ain't got a dollar to their name there are very
few again i'm gonna say it again you've seen it before in football now i can't really make a test to it when
it comes to basketball but you can because that's something that you love and passionate about
but think about how many players in the NFL that you've seen get paid and all of a sudden they
disappeared. Now they out there, they're on the roster, but the play, which is the reason why
they got the money they got, for some reason it just disappears. The hungry, the hunger,
the drive, the want to. Eventually, it'll wear off. I can motivate you by fear. I can motivate
you by money, but the only thing that's sustainable is self-motivation. So eventually,
Ocho, I can make or crack all the jokes I won't. Yeah. I can pay you all.
the money that I want. I can put fear
that I'm going to really, obviously, in basketball,
the money's guaranteed. So once you give him,
once he signs his name on the contract, and you
sign your name on the contract,
it doesn't mean anything, because you
can't scare him anymore.
But if a guy that's not self-motivated,
ain't nothing you can do. But also
too, when you're in that kind of environment,
it's only 15 guys.
You're playing as the Lakers, one of the best
franchises of all time.
You understand the legacy that they have.
They've won multiple championships.
you don't want to let those guys down on everybody's watching you now that's all the motivation
you need the money ain't the motivation at this point you're playing for the los angeles lakers
when you play what don't you what happened there's 15 guys in every locker room and he wasn't
motivated in phoenix he wasn't motivated in portland what makes you think he's going to come and be
motivated in l a i just told you on where is he playing he's playing in l a it's different than
playing in Portland. It's different than
playing in Phoenix. Tell me the difference between
the polar bear that's in Antarctica
and one that's in the zoo in San Diego
other than his environment. He's still
a polar bear. I like
that. That's a good one. I like that.
So I understand
what the Lakers brand is. I
understand what it represents.
But at the end of the day,
that just happened to be the same individual
that the other two places
that was in a better brand. He hasn't
changed. Nothing about
him has changed. How has this game so far? I know it's early in the season. How's he been playing
good, huh? Listen, the Lakers needed a big man. Is he the answer? That was the problem last year.
It was too small. Is he the answer? What's the question? Is he the big man that the Lakers
needed? Is he the answer? Laker big men are normally motivated. That's why they're known for
the big man.
Mike and in
Minneapolis to
Wilk to
Kareen to Shack
to Powell.
Okay.
I don't get it.
It's not for me
to understand everything.
I don't understand
because I think the thing
is that we work so
you work so hard
to get into a position
on Joe.
Yeah.
And then now you get there
because think about
you had to be,
I mean,
maybe you're so immense.
talented the seven foot seven foot i mean they're probably only they're probably
maybe a hundred people in the world of eight billion people that's seven foot taller taller
right so you know eight and seven feet tall too yeah he's seven foot
god damn yeah so i think the thing is for me ocho because i had to work so hard right
i'm a very motivated i'm a very self-driven person yeah you're different mentally i am
Everybody's not worried that way.
Nope, you're right.
That's what makes sense.
See, that's why I couldn't coach.
Everybody says, oh, you're a coach's dream.
All my employers, man, you are a dream.
I'm going to be prepared.
I'm going to do my work.
I'm going to go home.
That's it.
That's all I want to do.
That's why you need to coach.
No, no, no, I believe.
You'll get the, based on, because you got Shea and Luca, and you got stealth.
That's three guards right there.
Now, one of those guys.
is going to, I mean, Luca normally leads,
but now they just go front court and back court.
So he would have to get selected.
And then you got Ant Man,
so Ant Man, Shea, Luca, Steph.
I don't think he's more popular than any of those guys.
So it's going to have to be,
it's going to have to be at the coach's discretion.
Marlene Spive
and Ocho
when was the last time
you guys been to a rodeo
I ain't never been to a rodeo
that's a good question
unless they're talking about
rodeo
As a fact
the last time I went to the rodeo
was down here in Duluth, Georgia
when I rolled the PBR bull
deja blue
yeah that was my last time
at the rodeo and I told
the PBR that
obviously I would love to make
riding bulls a hobby
that I would take
I would take that profession
actually serious
and they told me
we're going to look into it
after the football season is over
so I might get back
in the pool right now
you shouldn't
huh
James Rebello
Och Ocho
if the Laker
I ride with you
