Our hometown is not a test tube.
90 miles northeast of Nashville,
a battle for the future of America,
plays out in one small town.
Developers with right-wing ties
have purchased hundreds of acres of land.
We need cities on a shining hill.
This is our town.
A podcast about what happens

Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you?

Quite a few ravens and former ravens have taken veiled shots at John Harbaugh and recent days.
Offensive lineman Ronnie Staley took shots at Harbaugh while praising new coach Jesse Minter-style said Minter just values the finer details.
Rashad Bateman, too, saying from head coach to OC to receiver coaches, everybody really harms on details.
And the small thing, that's just not.
what we're in our past.
Then today, Deshawn Elliott, Patrick Queen
criticized Ravens conditioning program.
Let's take a listen to what some of these guys had to say.
Something at the Baltimore Ravens
that a lot of people don't know about.
Training was hard.
We did with a lot of weights in the season.
Training was hard.
You lift hard.
You lift like heavy.
Heavy.
Every day.
Like it's all season.
I always heard that too.
Like y'all would squat every day or?
I mean, power clean.
Power clean.
All that.
Squads like squatting like.
That's why those running backs were getting hurt that one year too.
I took my peck out there one year because of that shit.
Yeah, it was.
I think the worst thing was the condition of test by far.
What was the condition test?
150 yards shuttles.
Yeah.
So it's like, it was 10, 150s.
No, that's what y'all had.
Oh.
We had the 25 yards back, 25 yards back, 25 yards back, and you got to make that
a certain amount of time and you want to get half that rest.
So it was.
A lot of hamstrings got pulled.
A lot of hamstrings got pulled.
But training was crazy.
But culture-wise, I think that locker room was close that I was a part of.
It was every single guy on the team connected with each other.
Like Lamar would be hanging out with the D-line and you got Roquine going to hang out with
freaking O-line and Mark Andrews over there talking to us and you got kickers and everything,
just like everybody was close.
So the culture was cool.
It was a good place.
It was a good place.
What did you think, Ojo?
I mean, it sounds like the same,
especially when to come in that condition and test.
Yeah, that's the same thing we had to do when I was playing.
I see, I see that hadn't changed much.
Obviously, that's why you want to come into shape.
You don't go to camp trying to get yourself in the shape.
No, you got to not come in tip-top, but at least halfway,
so you get through things like that.
And you already know they're coming anyway.
As far as the players taking shots at the coaches,
you don't want to undermine him.
You don't want to undermine him.
Harbaugh has had success for a reason when he was in Baltimore.
He had success.
Now, most of the time that success didn't end in the championship
or lifting that Lombardi Trophy,
but he did have success.
And the way he did things is one of the reasons
why you were always in contention year and year out.
Obviously, having the player and the quarterback
that did in Lamar Jackson, it helps that cause as well.
But I don't like the taking the shots
when someone new comes in and now you have unwanted
and unnecessary pressure based on the words
that came out of your former coach.
So now people are expecting, based on what you're saying,
expecting you guys to reach the promise right now.
You know, I'm not saying you're making it worse on yourself,
but you're making it worse on everyone else,
including your head coach based on what you said
about your former head coach.
Hey, that's why you wanna come in the camp
in decent shape, bro.
He's talking about pulling them hamstrings, Uncle Ocho.
they'll forget guys who come in the camp trying to get in shape using camp to get in shape
that's that's what you have you have all them soft tissue injuries especially them hamstring
they're going to be the first to go yeah that's how we doing is running yep yeah we had that
1040 you remember that 40 yard dash test you got 10 40 yard dashes and you got to make them
a certain amount of time and you only get rest for you whatever you're saying you run a 4-3 you
you'll slow as 4 you'll slow as 40 you're you're slow as 40
got it can't be over four six and you just basically you get like 30 seconds rest
yeah I know boy we did uh we used to have to run 15 150s uh the 200 which we had to do a 200
yard shuttle which is down and back and you got 28 seconds to make it mm-hmm you got like 12
14 of those I'm I've been running the track so I'm cool
One thing I could do, because I had a track background,
was run. I know how to pace it.
I'm not fit to go out there.
Right.
Oh, look, keep up, mm-mm, no.
28 seconds?
28 seconds it is.
Now I'm gonna kick out of you, the laugh.
I'll make it at about 26, but I'm not fin to burn out
and go anaerobic.
Once that bear jump on you, oh, it's a rap.
Hey, that bear ain't no joke, boy.
Hey, it depends on who you are.
It's either the bear the monkey.
If he get on you,
that's your ass, Mr. Postman.
That's it.
Hey, in basketball, they put that.
I think it's like two minutes,
they put on the clock,
okay, Ocho, and you gotta,
you gotta, you gotta get like 21 touches.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, like down and back.
You gotta do that.
You gotta go out and full length of the court 21 times,
and you gotta make it like under two minutes.
You gotta have a nice pace, boy.
I'm talking about you ain't got to be,
you ain't got to be all out,
but you need to, you know,
You can't tape off too damn much, boy.
Hey, right.
Rough, I see boys hit the flow.
You hear me?
I just ain't got it.
Coach, I ain't got no more.
I can't go.
I can't.
That's the worst feeling.
That's the worst feeling to have.
It is, bro.
Because your body said, your mind said you can go.
Body.
Body say you ain't moving.
You ain't moving.
And that's the funny thing about it too.
Is Joe and Unk, once that lactic acid,
builds up once it builds up there's no way to get rid oh yeah at least not at least not right
there at that moment while you're moving bro and you just oh you don't you own you own pune you
man if you hadn't been doing something similar to that on your own you're not going to make it
bro yeah you ain't going to make three yeah you ain't going to make it you got you got to be
running them spreads on your damn oh but i'm telling you but they ain't no joke training camp
that test we should have that conditioning test coming back
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Man, you had, hey, that lactic acid build up,
you make you think you got a BBL.
Yeah.
Hey.
Hey.
I don't know what they feel like on Joe,
but I can just imagine.
Man, your butt field, your butt field.
Hey.
Yep.
Hey.
Hey.
I remember them days.
Well, the thing is like,
we run with the group,
like the tight ends and linebackers,
tight end and linebackers,
we ran together.
So, you know, the thing is,
If I'm out there, everybody, because if I'm out
way out there in front of everybody else,
they're going to be like, y'all need to pick it up.
Yeah.
I'm going to stay right there in the pack.
Yeah, yeah.
Right there to pack.
Joe, I got me a nice little, got me a nice little get up.
Yeah, yeah.
Sharp, you're not even tired.
Am I supposed to be?
When I used the off-season for
to make sure I don't get tired
if we have to do this.
Right.
Yeah.
Bad.
Man, I should, look,
I agree with you guys.
the last thing that I wanted to do.
Because for me, the way I looked at it,
I'm responsible for the guy getting fired.
Yeah, yeah.
That's on me.
Had I did my job a little better,
he still be here.
No matter what I thought of my coaches,
and I pretty much got along with all my coaches.
Some I like more than others, obviously.
Some bosses you like more than others.
But for the most part, I got along,
they kind of left me alone
because they know I was going to do what I was supposed to do.
But the details
things I can see that because I played for a coach that was very detail oriented.
And he ain't leaving no stone on turn.
You mess up if you want to and talk about, oh, we'll, no, hell no, you're going to run that
play again.
You're going to run it again, absolutely.
So that's, that's what I'm used to.
I'm not used to making a whole bunch of mistakes.
Yeah.
You're not going to make a whole bunch of mistakes in a period and finish that period.
You're going to start that period all back over again.
Mm-hmm.
Purrard might go blow it
Brug it up
What's going on guys
Get your head on the ass
Dropping passes
Wrong assignment
Miss blocks
Who do you think we're going to be like this
Started from the top
That's how I go too
Hey
You know
I didn't understand why coaches
Were so
So so bent
on having consecutive plays in a row go the right way
you know in certain periods whether it's 11 or 11 whether it's 7 oh 7
7 whether even whether it's skelly if you just there and just you
and just doing it on air because they want to do the best they can and replicating
five six seven eight 10 sometimes even 11 play drives
they want to get you accustomed to being perfect
every time you step out there as much as possible as much as possible
The better you can go through practice and not making mistakes,
the better your chances of going into a game
regardless of what they do defensively
and having that same repetitive nature
when you're in game mode.
Oh, yeah, we had to string it together.
I mean, we go practice, we go periods.
The ball didn't touch the ground.
Yeah.
And then, you know, and then Cooper was like, all right,
I buy everybody, everybody get boots.
but boots he buys like cowboy boots.
We have no drops.
But so we got nine,
we got nine completes in a row.
You couldn't throw a check down.
The ball had to go at least 20 yards down the field.
John going for the gusto.
40 yards, 42 and four.
All the time Mike did get mad
with somebody laid out for a catch.
Dude laid out.
Brought it in.
We, oh, we get old.
Ocho, we played the Super Bowl.
The first Super Bowl that we played two up,
in Denver.
We played the Packers.
We had a day that Thursday practice,
Wednesday practice, Thursday practice.
It was flawless.
Thursday practice.
I dropped the first ball.
The ball never touched the ground again.
Friday practice, the ball didn't touch the ground.
Thursday practice in Miami,
we played the Falcons.
ball never touched the ground.
We would go, we would go entire practices
and the ball wouldn't touch the ground.
Mm.
Mm.
Woo.
And boy, you mess up that, you mess,
you'd be the one to mess up a street
that we don't call like 15, 20 balls in a row
and you drop it.
Oh man, God.
Yeah.
You know, hey, you know me,
ah, man, damn.
Man, my sister could have called.
That's what I could.
Hey, let me run in there and call my grandmother
to come catch this past with this boy.
Damn!
Don't.
Those jokes on.
For sure.
Hey, what's your favorite candy bar?
Let me guess.
Butterfingers.
Damn it.
Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches,
there's a lot of suspense.
Will they finally eat the veggies?
Will the pasto survive the first bite?
Will the lunchbox come home empty,
half full, or come home at all?

Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around here.
It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself.

Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network.
Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners.
Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz,
and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great.
Actually, can you help me shape this?
How about we flip it on his head, right?
How about we flip the script?
What is the surprise woman?
Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird.
Adam Scott
This entire time
You've been expecting
Adam Sandler to come to visit the show
I would never expect
I have
I would never set expectations for something like that to happen
If the universe allows for something like that to happen
I'm open to it
I'm always going to accept
You know Danny McBride
Fine
Yeah it's all this fragile masculinity
Exuding I could smell it walking on the hallway
To be honest with you
I was like, is that weed?
Nope.
It's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, what's a state.
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right, fake and also not interested.
Or just like, oh, I've got my life.
I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
Oh, and by the way, Will Farrell told us personally,
he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy.

And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Totoro, I deliver pizza from Prince
Street pizza to a new guest.
Are you delivering pizza now?
Then we sit down for a real conversation.
I've shared a slice with everyone.
from Seth Rollins.
What are you doing, my belt?
To Alex Rodriguez.
Just to let you people know,
we're talking to one of the goats here.
To Bill Burr.
I don't think I've ever met somebody
so exactly out of their mind as I am.
And now, we even have more great guests coming up,
including the great John Tuturo.
It's called Happiness, Delivering Happiness.
Mariano Rivera.
Oh, my God.

And listen now.
Clay Thompson is indeed headed to South Beach.
He plans to sign a two year, nearly $13 million deal with the heat after clearing waivers.
Thompson and the Maverick navigated the buyout from its 17 and a half million expiring salary after he made it clear Dallas that he wanted to play for a contender.
Ocho, you finally got what right?
I mean, listen, I told you, I told you, listen, I've been 99% right when it comes with these NBA players are going.
Now, the one with LeBron, now listen, I sat on now.
I sat on that and I really settled on what happened.
And I'm, I'm, I'm, no, I was just thinking about John.
Joe, Joe, Joe, no, no, Joe for real, you know,
Jack can't come to Miami.
All right, all right, all right.
Come on, now.
Be, be there.
If you couldn't, if you couldn't function over there in Memphis,
ain't no way in here you coming to Miami.
I'm, I'm just being honest.
Now, I was, I was just being hopeful.
But the yonest thing, I had the pairing of Yonis and Jock coming here.
I knew I knew Jal wouldn't come.
I'm just on a realistic standpoint, but honestly, I thought LeBron was coming.
I'm, I'm going to be honest about that.
I thought LeBron was going to come with Yonis,
and I think that admin leaking that, whatever it was,
I think made him hit him U-turn.
I still think it made him U-turn.
I think that was done on purposey.
I think it was done on purpose.
And obviously, I like it.
I like LeBron and Philly,
but I also would have liked him here in Miami
because I knew Clay was coming.
I knew Clay was coming.
I said it that two months ago.
I knew.
And listen, I like it.
We have shooters now.
We got Tim Hardaway, Jr.
We got Clay.
And a lot of people will say,
oh, he's not the same Clay.
he was back then.
Well, hell, who is the same?
You know, over time, you know, you get a little older,
but I know one thing he can do, he can still shoot.
You don't lose that.
You can still, you can still shoot.
What we're talking about?
So, I mean, I think we're going to be good.
We're going to be good.
We've got some nice pieces.
Is it enough to come out, come out to east?
Eh, eh.
Hey.
That's to be seen.
I like Clay going to Miami, okay, Ocho.
Obviously, not only can he shoot.
shoot, but he'll winner. Now, him going to Dallas, it was unforeseen. He didn't think
Kyrie was going to get hurt here. He didn't think, you know what I mean? Like, he thought
he was going to go there and get to play with some bonus. Yeah, he didn't think Luke was going to get
traded. So he thought he was going to play with some bona fide guys. Obviously, it didn't work out.
If you're Miami, you got to have floor spaces. You got a guy in Janus and Bam, who's going to eat up
a lot of space. And they're going to cause, they're going to have a lot of attention on them.
So to have guys like Tim Hardaway, Clay Thompson, guys who can really space the floor and make shots, and that's what they're known for.
And I don't necessarily think Clay is the defender he once was, OK, Ocho.
But I don't necessarily think he's no guy you're just going to seek out and just go at, you know, every trip down the court.
So, and he plays the right way.
Obviously, their championship pedigree is going to help with Miami and what they're trying to do.
Another guy who will probably come into the season this year.
trying to show and prove that, you know, he still can play at a high level.
He still can help a team make it, make a deep playoff run.
So I'm excited for Clay, bro.
I hope he really, really get an opportunity to really play some more championship caliber basketball.
Well, I think the thing is what he's finding out, it's a lot different player than anywhere else other than playing in Golden State because you got the other guy.
Hello.
You got the other guy that's running around out there.
Hello.
Letting it hammer play.
So it's a whole different ball game.
And the greatest Clay was, they put their undivided attention on still.
Yeah.
And he's a tremendous catching shoot because he don't need a whole lot of space now.
But once he gets hot, and when you look at Janice, Uncle Ocho, he like firing that ball over to that corner.
You know, he may not be looking.
So he uses those guys around him well.
And Clay going to fit right in, bro.
probably going to be the best probably best opportunity as far as winning and having fun
for Clay since he was in Golden State I'm yeah right I'm excited for him you got a guy yeah uh
yonnis liked to skip he like to hit their skip pass all the way across and clay like to go to
them corners uh that corner that that's his shot them short porch is yeah because the a
a that's when yon is at his best when he's surrounded by guys who can really shoot the basketball
because he put so much pressure on the wrong
rim here you got to collapse something got to be open collapse yeah yeah and you got another you know
he and bam could both those guys can defend davy on mitchell they got solid defenders are yeah
he's not a winner yeah he's not elite defender but he ain't terrible uh and he can't he can't
he ain't no knockdown shooter but here he can make a shot you know he can get out and string a few in
a row i think they got they got a pretty good squad bro yeah they got nice of squad they go look and
spoke and flat-out coached
So they're going, they go, they go, they're not going to be an easy out now.
Because even, even when they, even when they had less, they weren't an easy out.
Yeah, they never are.
Yeah.
The problem is that what about, what are getting to the, they end up
our bench.
Go ahead.
What about our bench, huh?
Look, I don't know who you got on your bench other than a Hardaway Junior.
We got, we got, we got Bobby.
Yeah, Bobby.
You know what?
Damn, I forgot to tell you, Ojo, Joe.
I saw BP out here in Vegas during Summer League.
and he told me to tell you guys what's up.
He said he's going to come.
He wanted to come back on.
I tell him.
Yeah.
He's scared.
Boy, you scared to hell out of me.
But, no, you told me to tell you guys what's up.
I forgot to tell you all that doing summer league.
But now, yeah, I forgot about BP could stretch.
Yeah.
He can put his back to the basket.
You know, hey, like I said,
the heat is not going to be an easy out.
So if you think you're going to get an easy win,
you're not.
Think about it.
Hell, they compete when they don't have a whole lot of talent.
That's just who they are.
Yeah, now that they do got some talent, led by Janus and bam,
them too hard working jokers, man, please.
Boy, hey, it's going to be hard to go to South Beach and get a win now.
It's going to be hard to go down and get a win.
For sure.
Yep.
Well, you got them in the east.
I think they should be a top four team.
They should be a top four team, yeah.
I put a job
I put it up before you're right yeah they should be
top for you I should be top for just being honest
you look at
you look at the Knicks
Philly
Boston
yeah I can see the heat yeah
yeah yeah
so what about Detroit
well you you see the controversy
they got going over there with big fella hell
is he coming back they're gonna bring him back
what
what you can say what
Jayland Duren
I'm not giving you a Super Max contract.
Well, I'm gone.
I'm gone, I'm going to pack my bag.
I'm gone.
Okay, well, buy.
I'm gone.
Close the door behind you.
Yeah, okay, say less.
I'm gone.
I'm gone.
I just need somebody.
You know what?
Yeah.
You know what?
If they got a bank, they got a bank in Milwaukee some damn well, I don't care.
I don't care if they got a bank in.
I'm going to play.
We'll go here.
Yeah.
You're Detroit.
You don't want to pay me Detroit.
Okay, y'all don't want to pay me Detroit.
Man, get your lips off my ears, man.
Yeah, I'm moving, Charlotte.
Charlotte, what y'all got going?
Charlotte, what y'all got going on, that?
Y'all need one.
Y'all, what's up?
Hey, Joe, what should you say, Joe?
They got to bank somewhere else?
They got to bank everywhere, I don't care.
Where are you in?
Yeah.
They got a bank.
Hey, you get paid.
I get paid on first and 15, just like y'all do.
Huh?
Guess what?
You can't, you can't, guess what?
You can't go nowhere.
You're going to take this money.
You're going to take this what I'm going to pay you.
What a dollar bill?
tell blue I got contract between me and you to say you do what I tell you to do so don't
say no don't get small blue hey that's what they're at bro they had a standoff in
Detroit man they yo hey that man wanted money I'm gonna give you some money but when we
wait I'm not giving you a supermax yeah we in September man we waiting on that was in July
we pulled in got this on out of the way so me and Kay can get together and keep our
chemistry going you can you can
still get together, but it's gonna be for less than what you thought.
That Christmas that you thought you was gonna have.
Hey, listen.
You know, hey, like the OBRI, but grab me,
he said, boy, you know, baby, you know,
I know I promised it, but it ain't come through it.
It ain't happened like it's supposed to.
Yeah, they gotta figure that out, though, Uncle Ocho.
He messed his buddy, Joe, Ocho.
He messed his,
money up in the playoffs.
They wouldn't, oh, Joe, you know this.
If that man had played half like he was in the regular season,
they gave him the money no damn problem.
Absolutely.
But guess what?
Hell, timing is everything.
I can't help we in the timing.
It's my country.
I still want my money, man.
Listen.
You'll get it.
Huh?
We'll get it.
We'll give it to you.
You're not getting $2.90.
That's all I'm saying.
Okay, cool.
I ain't got to get $2.90.
But I want $200.
Yeah, I want 200.
I want 200.
Oh, so I won't 200.
I got, you know what?
Since it's you, I got 200 to, five years 200.
You damn sure ain't get no five years, 290.
Okay, cool.
I take 215.
215, we have to do.
You know what?
Stay on a stay at home.
Hey, hey, listen.
I'm cool when not getting the 290.
I'm going to take the 2.15.
that extra 15. Give me that extra 15 and we're good. We're going. We're going to get it rolling.
I get my house. I want to get down there in Bloomfield somewhere. Yeah. Come on.
Look here. I don't know. If you can't live our 200, you can't live our 215.
Yeah, I can live off. But you know, we're in Detroit, man. Why we? What are we?
Our third team all NBA, what is you talking about? What we are again?
And you look like a bitch player
complains in the postseason.
We want to talk about that?
Hey.
It looked like that they'll made it abundantly clear, Joe.
They're not giving him that contract that he's seeking.
He's still fighting, though, Uncle, Ocho Hill.
I ain't mad at it.
I ain't mad at it.
Clay was also active on social media
while responding to fans who's comparing his career
to Ray Allen.
You do realize I was the second-lead scorer
on two championship teams without KD.
You want me to go to a bad team and put up empty stats?
That's easy, buddy.
Exactly.
No team is making the playoffs with Clay as the first option at any point in his career.
Damn, holy ish, I led the 2016 playoff and points scored, you casuals.
Talk your, talk your trash, boy.
Hey, yeah.
That's it.
We want you all to keep on, keep on tweeting Clay and pissing him off.
We need that.
So we have a chip on the show.
So we come out here, down here, the Casillas said it was something to prove, huh?
I think the Golden State trading him.
It's, I don't want to say taint it, because obviously he'll first ballot Hall of Famer.
There's no question about that.
But how people perceive Clay Thompson, bro, because of these, what, this year he did.
What was it?
He only been in Dallas a year, right?
Two years.
And how people have perceived him, bro.
Come on, man.
Come on, man.
That man, first ballot Hall of Famer.
It was a hell of a player in his prime, bro.
Joe, you know when you play with other great players,
unless you historically great, you don't get,
I mean, think about it.
People don't want to give Kobe the credit
because he played alongside Shaq.
Yeah.
So what you think, Clay, what you think,
and Shaq is closer to Kobe than Clay is the staff?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's just the way it goes.
I didn't set the rules,
but you know this.
play with another historically great
player unless you're historically
great in yourself.
Look at McKell and Parrish.
They don't get no love like Larry Bird.
They were first battle Hall of Famous
too. They were on those championship teams
right along with him. Yeah.
It's just the way it is.
And he should look,
often without explanation. I don't care what y'all say.
Man, you ain't, you weren't this gear,
you blah, blah. I'm, whatever you said I was,
All I know is I got three rings and I got a gold jacket.
Hello.
So whoever got more rings and got got a purple jacket or a red one, I don't care.
As long as you got the most out of your career, out of your God-given ability, that's all you can do.
You can't, I can't measure my career against somebody else's.
I wasn't, I didn't play in that system.
I didn't play with their quarterback.
They didn't play with mine.
I didn't have their head coach.
They didn't have mine.
all I know is what I did.
My 12 years in Denver, my two years in Baltimore,
I ain't trading it for nobody's career.
And I think Gronk and Kelsey,
they are the two best tight ends and the tight end
and I feel very comfortable saying that.
I give the nod to Kelsey because of his postseason,
but Gronk don't got to take a back seat to nobody.
But I still wouldn't trade my career for theirs.
Yeah.
That's just me.
That's just me.
but Clay,
Clay, man, you make yourself sick,
Dred trying to, trying to explain yourself to people
that, look, they might know the game,
but the intricacies of what it takes.
Yeah, maybe he could have averaged more points,
but at what expense?
To mess up the offense, just to show that he could,
yeah.
You can do it?
Yeah.
The very first thing,
with the very first conversation
that I had with Mike Shunhead,
he's called me in his office,
he said, he's called me 84.
He's like 84.
I can throw you 100 balls,
but I don't think we can win like that.
He says somewhere between 60 and 80 balls
is what we can get you and be successful.
Well, I want to win.
I want to go to a championship.
Yeah.
Hall of Fame wasn't even on my mind.
I wouldn't even, I mean, seventh round draft picks
ain't got no damn business thinking about no damn Hall of Fame.
Yeah.
You just hope you got a job the next day.
Bang.
Man, please.
I need to go to the people,
but you ain't catch me with one pass in the Super,
but I don't care if I ain't catch no passes.
Hello.
My ring got the same amount of diamonds as Ray Lewis's got.
His might got MVP on the side, but that's okay.
Mine got the Bronco logo on the top.
I'm cool.
Yeah.
Hell of a feed, boy.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone.
as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his
motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space
where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word
solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people
and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're
alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of
yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Hayes Davenport and Sean Clements.
We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Big.
money players network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week, we talk to
someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they
have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our
show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Not that great. Actually, can you help me shape
this? How about we flip it on his head, right? How about we flip this around? Okay. What is the surprise
woman who actually you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird.
Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show.
I would never expect, I would never set expectations for something like that to happen.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
I'm always going to accept.
You know, Danny McBride, fine.
It's all this fragile masculinity exuding.
I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, is that weed?
Nope, it's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, what's a state?
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right, fake and also not interested.
Or just like, oh, I've got my life.
I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other.

The move comes a day
after the Nuggets completed a multi-team trade
that sent restricted free agent
Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers. Joe,
do you like this move?
I love
not only a shooter Ocho, but I love
Demar going to Denver
Uncle Ocho, another guy
veteran guy who's a proven
score
you know you lose
Peyton Watson because you pay
So to bring him in on a discount, another guy who probably, he can win your playoff series, bro.
You know, when you, when, when Yokic is drawing all this attention, you got another guy who you can go to down the stretch who's just as potent down the stretch and making plays and making game winning shots.
A guy who can always get to a spot obviously great in ISO situations, I think he's going to be a pretty good fit.
The only thing I worry about with DeMarr is about his floor spacing and him shooting that three ball.
I know he ain't on three shooter.
He ain't no three shooter, Uncle Ocho,
but you're going to have to work on it because playing with Yoke,
he's a pass first.
Even though he, you know, he put up gotty numbers offensively,
but he's a pass first big,
and he needs the floor of space,
and he's going to find you.
You just got to be ready to shoot that thing.
But I think the thing is,
off the double team,
he's another guy that can go get his own shot.
Yep.
And see, that's what hurt them,
is that once,
and Murray kind of wore down
against the, they did an unbelievable job.
Against Daniel.
He wore him down.
Yeah.
Ain't no way around it.
He wore him down.
Yep.
Yep.
Now you got another guy that we can pass the ball to
that can go in the midi.
DeMarthoros is still deadly in the middy now.
Yeah.
He's probably one of the only,
he's probably one of the only few guys in the NBA
that's the perimeter guy who post up.
You know, he can post up, he can get a bucket,
he can draw a foul, he can play mate.
He can do a little bit of area.
everything, I got Ocho.
I think it's going to be a hell of a fit.
The only thing, like I said, I worry about,
is him consistently making that three ball.
I mean, nowadays, bro, to be effective in the league,
you got to be able to shoot that three.
Got to be able to shoot it.
So what do you do?
Now you bring Cam Johnson off the bench
because basically you got Yokic,
you got Murray, you got DeMarr,
you got Gordon, or you start Cam Johnson,
or you got Christian Brown.
Somebody got to go to the bitch, Joe.
I think you start Cam, you bring Brian off the bench.
Okay.
Yeah, you bring him off the bench.
Because I think he's best coming off the bench,
Uncle Ocho playing against that second unit,
meaning Bron to where he can come in and really flourish
and get his stuff off.
I think he's best in that role.
Yeah, he ended up, he got his money.
He played well in that when they played the heat.
Yeah, the year they wanted.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And he ain't been that sin.
They've been trying to move.
Everybody's like, no, we're not going to take that bad contract.
We're not going to reward y'all for giving that bull a job contract.
Yep.
He stuck like because he hit the scene unexpectedly.
Nobody expected that.
Now, when you put them expectations on you,
you give him that big contract and you put them expectations on them,
okay, Ocho.
Damn, what, what, what, them 17, 18 points at 9 of you were giving us?
fourth option you know what I mean yeah but no now people know what I can do so
now they they guard me differently back Kyle Pitts handed out handed
rukes falcons rookie Zachariah branch several dental checks totally more than
30 thousand after the offense went out to eat check this out guys oh open them
Shit.
Hey, get the second one.
You got two more.
You got two more young fella.
That was say, I go, I go, oh, Lord.
Oh, my God.
Oh my God.
I'm gonna help you.
I'm gonna help you.
I'm gonna help you.
Oh.
Oh, shit.
Your ass is dead.
Oh my God.
He got three books of them.
Four team.
Yeah.
My nigga.
My little.
Hey.
Bo-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-B-R-B-R-W.
Hey.
Oh, yeah.
Hold on.
Oh, Joe.
He ain't got to the season yet.
Y'all don't let him get to the season.
And, you know, you got to get that rookie dinner out of the way.
Hey.
And that, he did that rookie dinner out of the way.
Hey, and he could play.
No, no, he can go.
He got some will.
He transferred from USC with the Georgia.
He got some will.
With the Georgia.
He got some will.
Boy, he got some will.
He can go.
Hey, he's nice.
But that's, I remember the days.
I tell y'all what?
Well, my look, at that time, my little credit card I had that little $5,000 limit.
Hell, we were going to, we for max that thing out.
You weren't even going to go through.
It was going to decline.
Hell, they were what.
How?
Listen, man, how y'all, how y'all do them phone like that, man?
I ain't even had no credit card, Joe.
All I had to go.
I went by the bank, got some money, and they stood me up.
I had to memo and everything.
Hey, I remember my rookie dinner.
My rookie dinner, it was Ron Dugan's, Peter Warwick, Danny Farmer was there at the time.
Darnay Scott.
Remember Darnay Scott?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Darnay Scott.
From San Diego State, right?
Yeah, yeah, Darnay, yeah, you went to San Diego State.
And yeah, they didn't.
They didn't do me dirty.
They didn't do me wrong.
Well, I did them wrong.
Did you really?
Did you really?
Oh, I hit Clint Porz and Leslie Lee for 22,000.
Damn.
What?
Yeah, I can't do that.
In matter of fact, after my rookie dinner, my next year,
matter of fact, my whole career, I never did it, I never did to any other other players.
That was, I'm trying to think, did we have,
I don't even know who we had my last year in Denver, but,
Port and then was my first year back in Denver.
Rod Smith and Rob was an undrafted free agent.
Carswell was a seventh round draft pick, so.
Yeah.
We didn't do them too bad.
I was like, you know what?
I'm going to let y'all lock, but I got to get these stakes for my dogs.
Oh, man.
You said you ain't doing them that bad and you cost them.
No, I did porters and them dirty.
Yes, absolutely.
Absolutely.
One thousand percent.
Yeah, me.
I get the most expensive, the most expensive.
everybody we get the most expensive yeah so the lobster especially you got to get at least at
least a four-pound lobster hey hey so what y'all do to the guys who just like man damn that i ain't
paying for that that's not the option huh yeah that's not an option yeah that don't that don't happen
joe because you know coming in that's a part it's it's a rich you know it's it's an unspoken rule
unwritten rule excuse me unwritten rule yes because next year
Somebody's going to be a rookie and you can return the favor.
It used to be,
it used to be really bad, Joe.
Guys would see, and this would,
and this was,
and this way I had to like assert myself,
be the,
be the door in the room.
I'm not going to let you take no,
hey, man, my wife family coming in town.
I'm gonna get, no, you not.
You're not taking them anything.
You're gonna stop your ass by McDonald's a Burger King
and get them something,
but they ain't getting nothing from here.
And you're not fend to take no 25.
I had no $5,000 dollar
bottle of wine home, man.
Come on now.
Are you?
All I said, I said, guys, if you get it, you got to eat it.
That's it.
That was the only rule that we had.
If you get it, you got to eat it.
I'm not going to let you,
I'm not going to let you hit these guys up for no $5,000 bottle of wine
so you can have it sitting on your, sitting on your thing.
But there's some places that do that.
Sometimes you just got to, you know, you got to, you got to be the door in the room
sometimes, Joe, it's like, nah, we're not been to do that.
Other than that.
Right.
And Paul, Lillie was a first round pick,
Porter was a second round pick,
Porter's having an outstanding season.
Yeah, man, 22,000, that ain't nothing.
Damn.
It's it, they say 22 bands ain't nothing.
That ain't nothing.
Ain't nothing.
I mean, it's probably like 18,
by the time you leave it like a $4,000 tip.
Man, the people been working on us hand and foot,
bringing us hot dinner rolls,
bringing us all the tea and soda and stuff that we want.
kept the food hot and fresh.
That's the least we could do.
Nah, nah, nah.
Nah, that ain't it.
They ain't it.
Woo.
Boy, sweating bullets calling their financial advisors
and all that, man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, Rod and they came up a little short.
It's like, you know what, man,
I'm gonna help you all out.
Because you know me.
I got, I need a limo by myself.
I need to navigate a limo.
in limo the whole one person.
Damn.
Ocho, because when I'm ready to go, I'm ready to go.
Oh, you're trying to get out of there.
You ain't ready to everybody else.
I'm not putting to drive and drop him off,
then drop him off, then drop him off,
and I'm the last one stuck in the limba.
I'm the last one getting home.
Nah.
Hey, look, I'm with on that.
I hate rounding people.
Man, when it's time to go,
I'd like to hit the dope.
Pim, p, p, p, p, p, and I'm in my car gone.
I don't want to have to have to.
Tell 10 people, hey, look, we're about to get ready to go.
Now the whole, the whole spot, no, we're about to go.
Hell, no, I like to be, I'm in now like a robbery.
Because guess what happened?
Will you ride with somebody?
Man, man, I just got an old girl, man.
Give me 10 minutes.
Give me tea.
Don't worry about it.
Hey, Joe, no, hey, man, man, dang, sharp, man.
And then I might be hollered and something.
and I'm not ready to go, you're ready to go.
So I'll tell you what, don't worry about it.
Drive your own it.
Drive your own it, and then we ain't got to worry about it.
Facts, that's how I am, bro.
Damn, that.
Like, but look, the only person,
the only person that I would go out with
and I would, he could drive or I would drive,
with Burns.
Because I know when he's ready, I'm gonna be ready.
Yeah, I'm not going without him.
He's not going without me.
So we could rock like that.
Yeah.
But other than that,
I'm not riding with none of you guys.
Absolutely not.
And I'm not getting a,
I got my own limo.
But,
that was fun.
That was fun.
But see,
that's all the part of it.
That's team bonding.
That's team building.
Yeah.
I mean,
we're stealing guys,
trucks,
and driving away out there
and parking them in the feet.
and leaving them running while they're gonna.
Oh yeah.
We had to get them, Joe.
Yeah, yeah, and y'all are extreme with it.
That's just, that's just a little too much.
That too much.
Yeah.
But see, the thing is,
like, if somebody wanna steal your truck,
you're in their practicing,
you wouldn't know until you got.
Just imagine you practicing
and you see your truck two miles away
and the lights on, the doors open.
Come on, man.
Hey, hey, Joe.
Hey, coming out of the parking lot,
coming out of the parking lot,
in the player, in the players' parking lot,
and your car sitting on bricks.
Oh, man, come on, Ojo.
Man, and that's the D-Lyman playing like that.
That's the D-Lylin.
So we used to nail, we just,
because you know guys always want to be late.
We'll nail the locker shut.
They can't get the cleats.
And we don't have, we'll hit all the hammers.
Man, ain't nobody near this for Sharp.
Man, Sharp you play, bro, why Sharp always got to be behind it?
My locker working.
just fine.
This man say they nail your locker shut.
Yeah.
Guy rushing in there trying to hear him to get his stuff on for prankers.
That's cold-blooded there, boy.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, because it ain't nothing like seeing a cat run in there.
Boy, he know he's about to be late for prank.
I'm talking about he.
He's fireballing through that thing.
You hear me?
What?
I like, I like, I like, dude.
One of my favorite moments, man,
to seeing a rookie defense or a rookie defense to tackle.
You know, we all walk out.
We all get out of the news at the same time.
And ain't nobody hanging around after we've been there all day.
Walk out in that park a lot,
we all going home and just to see that costume on them,
see them in bricks, boy.
Man, I'd be sick.
Boy, you talk about laughter.
Oh, we, I go back in there,
Ocho, go to the bathroom.
You know what?
Somebody's been acting up.
He's been acting up.
Put them pants in the,
in the whirlpool
and put them in the refrigerator.
Oh.
Until they freeze?
Frozen solid.
Will you see a walking out there
with Bronco gear?
Ah!
Oh, we go get you.
Oh, we go get you.
Damn.
Oh, yeah.
That's what you miss.
That's what I miss.
Yeah.
I honestly, yeah, the money is nice.
Don't get me wrong.
I don't miss playing in front.
under that and hey we do good we do good now i miss the camaraderie that's what i miss i miss
the bus rides i miss the locker rooms hey that's what that's what i miss we never gonna get that
again you know you see how we are when we get to chat you see how we are when we get together
just imagine it's like that with 30 when you got 30 people like that yeah man so somebody
hold oh they got oh des i think jerry and uh
having to pay dad's bill yeah as a real dad didn't pay it jerry ended up paying it
damn that what i'm talking about jerry come here yeah yeah you did boy there was the boy we had
we had a time though we had a time boy hey if y'all are sold we had i can't tell y'all what all we
what all was going on in the steakhouse but we have a ball yeah we have a ball we have a ball
What?
Steakhouse jam-packed with people.
Hmm.
So we, but we had to pay extra.
We had to pay extra to keep, you know, keep, hey,
y'all are the only ones working in here.
We, y'all folk, just don't get out.
Mm.
But we had it going on the way.
Glad Mike ain't find out about that.
If your bookshelf and your for-you page
are equally important to your personality, welcome home.
Pro Society is a weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for anyone who thinks Pride and Prejudice and Love Island to serve the same level of discourse.
Each week, we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and pop culture with your favorite writers, book talk creators, and plenty of overthought opinions.
Yeah, I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed.

On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of
traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering
me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a
rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word
Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Hoda Cotby, host of the podcast.
I'm a podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kottenby.
You know, I'm always searching for inspiration and useful tools to maximize joy.
Like when my friend Henry Winkler offered advice to aspiring actors and really anybody hoping to stand out.
You're not hired just to fill time and space.
You're hired to fill the space with you.

Our hometown is not a test tube.
90 miles northeast of Nashville,
a battle for the future of America,
plays out in one small town.
Developers with right-wing ties
have purchased hundreds of acres of land.
We need cities on a shining hill.
This is Our Town,
a podcast about what happens
when a small town becomes the site
of a social experiment and fights back.
Guess you didn't move in
on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you?

Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business
and try to help them with their careers
and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists
for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman,
Adam Scott, Danny McBride, Ben Stillard,
and a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
