Starting point is 00:01:37 Try them for free at wasabi.com. JJ Watt tweeted Mike Brable in his first year with New England. Mike McDonald's second year in Seattle. Kirk Signetti's second year at Indiana. A whole lot of owners and athletic director look around and say, why can't we do that? Expectations of immediate results have never been higher. Hey, but hold on, all owners have to do is look at the foundation.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Everything starts with having a goddamn quarterback first. It doesn't matter who you bring in. These coaches are coming to great situations where they have great pieces in certain places. And you build around those pieces, but the most important piece that you need to have success before you worry about any other position, unless you have a phenomenal defense is the quarterback position. The Broncos showed you even with a phenomenal defense. If you don't have that quarterback, you're not doing nothing. The Seahawks, excuse me, the Texans last week, if your quarterback plays like garbage, you're not doing anything.
Starting point is 00:02:44 It's really that simple, Ocho. Let's not overcomplicated for the chat. We can have a quarterback, but if he plays bad, your defense is hard for your defense to overcome bad quarterback play. like it could be years past. Yeah, definitely. Also, the Steelers are hiring Mike McCarthy as their next head coach. The Steelers owner and team president, Art Rooney,
Starting point is 00:03:09 the second cited McCarthy's previous accomplishments as a head coach and his ability to develop quarterbacks as a different making trait. The news of the Steelers intent to hire McCarthy was met with overwhelmingly negative response from fans on social media. Rooney response, where we're really not worried about winning the initial press conference is about picking the coach we believe will help us win games, and social media really doesn't enter into it. And none of that matter once we start playing games.
Starting point is 00:03:36 The message for our fans is we're very excited. We think we have a coach who's well-equipped to lead us into the next winning phase of Steelers football. And with that, and that's what it is all about. I think we're going to love Coach Mike. Ocho, do you like the hire for the Steelers? I mean, I like Coach McCarthy in general. I mean, everywhere, everywhere he's gone.
Starting point is 00:03:58 He's had some success. He's had success with the Cowboys, but never did get them to the promised land like he would want it to. He had success. He was in the Green Bay. Never did get them to the Promise Land like he wanted to. He went with Aaron Rogers. I mean, he did.
Starting point is 00:04:12 He won with Aaron Rogers that one year. So, I mean, that's why I said he's had success on the places he's gone. I like the hire, but again, what are we doing? What are we doing with the quarterback situation? I read somewhere I saw something about the, He likes what he sees from Will Howard. No disrespect to brother Howard. I don't think he's the answer for the future.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I'm just saying. And me and knowing and watching quarterbacks over the years that I've not only played but watched this game in general and knows what it takes to be a quarterback in the NFL, I don't think he's the answer. Maybe I could be wrong. Maybe he can prove me wrong. But if he was the answer, I'm sure they wouldn't have to bring in a 42-year-old Aaron Rogers. Maybe it's the inclination in bringing Aaron Rogers back so they can have that
Starting point is 00:04:56 That one more shot at again, being that they're familiar with each other, Aaron Rogers and Coach McCarthy. But again, I mean, the higher is good as the coach that has that is used to winning. You know, he's won before. But again, until you fix that situation at the quarterback position, it's just going to be the same thing. I look at it like this, Ocho. The man had Brett Farr, Aaron Rogers, Dak Prescott, 18 years.
Starting point is 00:05:24 He's had exemplary. quarterback play. He's got one Super Bowl to show for it. He got three guys that won seven MVP's he got one Super Bowl to so forth. Look at all the receipt. Look at all the great players that he's coached. Look at what he had. When he had Michael Finley,
Starting point is 00:05:45 when he had Donald Driver and he had Greg Jennings and he had the white kid, the young man. Jordy Nelson. Eric Deck. He had Randall Cobb, James Johnson. Look at what he had in Dallas.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Look at all the players that he had. So Aaron Rogers, Brent Farm, Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliott, all those guys with his hand. You got one Super Bowl to show for it. Hey, I got a question, though. When we break it down, right, and coaches that are available for these positions,
Starting point is 00:06:19 and, I mean, who else would you hire, though? You think about it. Especially if, like, if we're going to bring up the resumes of what these coaches have done in the past, the only hire where people would be acceptance of would be accepting of what they've done in the past based on resume and accolades would be that of Bill Belichick and and he's not walking
Starting point is 00:06:40 well I don't think nobody one come close of Steelers you know from talking around the league they don't think he you know they don't think he can win without Tom Brady they don't know how well he relates to the modern day player right I know people say Brian I mean just saying guys let me ask you this if a guy was suing your company or the company you're affiliated with will you hire you know Brian Lauren Flores had a lawsuit pending against NFL right oh Joe do we know that oh did we forget I think I think a lot of you might have forgot that well let me first remember he has a pending lawsuit against the NFL the cough drop hey
Starting point is 00:07:34 you know what I think people have been spoiled too people have been spoiled by watching the watching the page just over the years Super Bowl always being in attention. I think people have been spoiled by the goddamn the Eagles and the success that they had as of late. Obviously not this year. I think people have been spoiled by the Chiefs and the success that they've always had with Patrick Mahomes.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Not really understanding how difficult it is to consistently win or how difficult it is to actually reach a Super Bowl. And seeing these teams go in a short amount of time over and over, they think it's attainable every single year. it's well you get guys like brady and mahome that make it look so routine people think well why can't everybody do that no it's not easy what tom brady did for two decades is not easy what patrick mahomes is done in 10 years get to five Super Bowls and win three is not easy no that's crazy when you think about it that's crazy y'all can't be talking about y'all be
Starting point is 00:08:44 talking all you want to i'm just saying real i'm just asking you chat so it's Somebody is going to sue your company, the company that you work for, would you hire said individual? Why you think you ain't nobody called John Gru, no, Joe? John Gru got a lawsuit. John would be a nice one. That John is a good, good players coach that a lot of players are love. No, the shield is these 32 owners.
Starting point is 00:09:12 And if they lose this case, 32 owners are going to have to pay. Hey, man, I got a goddamn fly in the house, man. Why do I hate the Steelers? I'm trying to figure out why I hate the Steelers the hate days for the Steelers is long, long, long, long, long, long, long. Yeah, I mean, I've never hated I've never hated the Steelers.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Well, you had to if you play for the Raven. Oh, even doing, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, I have no choice. You understand, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, but when you look at the coaching, I mean, who else? You think about it. If it wasn't Mike McCarthy, then who? I mean, I think fans would have been upset. I sure wish Clint could have got that job at Baltimore.
Starting point is 00:10:03 But I think, I think the thinking. Baltimore? Yes. In Baltimore? I think that, can you imagine? You see how he dialing it up? I'm thinking that Steve Bishott is thinking, well, I have Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson has won two MVPs and two different systems.
Starting point is 00:10:24 So it doesn't matter who's coaching him on offense. going to be great. I need somebody to pick this broken down defense. I'm thinking that's how Steve Ashad is thinking. Now, I could be right. Right. But that's what I'm thinking. And I think that's why he went defense instead of offense.
Starting point is 00:10:41 And I and I won't Clint to get a job so bad, but man, if he go to the Raiders, he ain't got no quarterback. Why would why would you think he'd take that job? Why would anybody take the Raiders of the Brown job? I'm not going to the Brown. Outside of the chance, I don't, listen,
Starting point is 00:10:59 And these situations are opportunities don't present themselves often, so I'm going to take the job knowing I'm only be there for two or three years. True. For what? I guess they're looking at it like, you know what? They're going to get the number one pick the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:11:11 They'll take Mendoza and Clint can work his magic with that. I'm thinking that's what they're thinking, Ocho. I'm being honest. I'm thinking that's what they're thinking. I would take the Raiders job only if we're taking Mendoza, yes, and we get number three, from Dallas and bringing on over there to pair with Brock Bowers and Trey Tucker that's it now if that's not happening I'm good what D.K. probably kicking himself why he had the Steelers the team
Starting point is 00:11:46 he just left going to the Super Bowl what you mean why can you imagine you go to New England and Cincinnati go to the Super Bowl boy you've lost your damn mind well actually it was the opposite way I left Cincinnati with that is to see what you are already told about you felt you didn't feel a part of that you are a bingo I did I didn't I'm always a bang I'm saying so imagine the bingo go to the Super Bowl yeah I would have got oh you get already shit me they would have gave me I would have got one I would have got one I would have got one made our ruling the second set on Steelers head coach and search we wound up bringing three guys in for in person interviews Brian Floyd's Mike McCarthy and
Starting point is 00:12:27 Anthony Weaver and then we sat down and talked about whether we had our man if we wanted to bring more people in-person interviews. We decided that Mike was the man for the job. So we went ahead and offered him the job on Saturday. The Rooney Rule, they brought three coaches in. Two are African-Americans. The Rooney Rule is named after them, which means minorities get an opportunity.
Starting point is 00:12:58 They did it. They hired Mike Tomlin. Now they interviewed others. Okay. They felt that Mike McCarthy was the best for the job. Two guys are defensive guys, and they said, we want somebody that can develop a quarterback. We have yet to develop a quarterback since, you know, Ben Rothersberger.
Starting point is 00:13:17 But they had Ken Wisenhunt and they had Bruce Ariens. I hope it works. I told you should put your name in a hat for one of your coaching jobs. You would have got picked up quick, boy. I want no part of that. People are already criticized Mike McDonald. because he says he sees a kid about 30 minutes a week. And everybody's like, that ain't no flex, that ain't no flex.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Well, tell me the coach, tell me the coach. Every coach always says the same thing. The kids, you know, and you know what you sign up for when you marry a coach. You know he's not going to be real long like a regular guy on a 9 to 5. So the wives or girlfriends or whomever is accepting of that. Every coach that I know burn the midnight oil. Yeah, always. Hey, listen, blankets and pillows in the rooms.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Blankets and pillows in all the coaches' offices because of the time spent, game planning, watching film, preparing the car, cue cards for the next day. I mean, so hearing that, I saw the clip too. And I saw the coach saying. I want to know how much time you think the coach actually spends on Joe? He actually spends at home during the season. A little bit of none.
Starting point is 00:14:51 a little bit of none because some nights you don't even go home. If they wasn't going home back then, I know damn where they're not going home now, simply because of the preparation it takes to prepare for a game week to week, especially as games like this. If you're in a profession, you know. Where it matters even more? It's a thing, go to show.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Maybe I, listen, baby, I'm going to be here all week, baby. I'm not going to see you. You and the kids can come on and stop battle. Yeah. That's probably what happened. They probably need dinner and have my half dinner in his office. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But I don't have no problem with it. And now look look what they are now because of the time he's put in the work. When they, if they win the Super Bowl, you get to make up all that time you miss during those six months. You understand what you signed up for
Starting point is 00:15:43 depending on who you date. I want to know the guy that makes that kind of money and he works a nine to five. So tell you, Tell me that's the job I want now. Tell me the guy that works nine to five, Ocho. He works a normal hour and make that kind of money.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yeah, how much you make? How much we talking? What coaches make? Somewhere between $10 and $20 million a year. Oh, and a nine to five? So that's six months out of the year, nine to five, six months, 20 million a year, 11, 20 million a year. So that's my calculator.
Starting point is 00:16:24 That's about, okay, carry the one. Yeah, there ain't nothing out there like that. Of course not. Not no 9 to 5. But when you do sports, it's just like reporters. Do y'all, hey, y'all miss deadline. Y'all make it seem like y'all be there for every event for your kids. Who was that's a sport?
Starting point is 00:16:47 I'm trying to figure out I want to know the guy that every recital, every PTA, every game, everything that they were there for. even the most doting and loving dad, I want to know the one, that if he played a professional sport, if he was a coach, that he was there for everything that the kids did. Like a father that said a 9 to 5.
Starting point is 00:17:10 I want to know. Because normally when you get into these jobs, you already know what comes along with it. The same thing I tell people, when they talk about, you know, I want to do this or I want to be in sports, it's okay. You okay working weekends?
Starting point is 00:17:32 I don't mind working weekends. What about holidays? Man, you know, that's what this ain't for you. I don't know if you notice. They play sports on holidays. Are you okay with not spending a holiday with your family? Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Find something that allows you to spend holidays and weekends with your family. This ain't for you. Sports not for you. I mean, I obviously those, I mean, for, for the average person, none, that's probably not used to it. Maybe doesn't understand, what it comes to the sacrifice that comes into not only being a player but being a coach,
Starting point is 00:18:16 they probably won't understand it. They probably won't understand it. There's no explanation that can be given where they will understand it. They just won't. What it commands, the sacrifice it takes, for one, to have the success that coaches had this year. No, I just, I can tell people to talk about it's just football. I can tell people that's never never played anything.
Starting point is 00:18:42 You got the 9 to 5. Who said it's just football? Somebody said that? It is. To you? No, it's not. To people that play in life or death. But like I said, I want y'all to tell.
Starting point is 00:18:57 That's how you pay your bills. I want them to tell me the guy that was a professional, that a professional athlete or coach that was at every event for the child growing up. So they made all the PTAs, they made all the recitals, they made all the practices, they made everything. You can't. Because guess what?
Starting point is 00:19:20 There are some guys that work 9 to 5 and can't make it because they got to pull over time. Y'all say anything to try to get in, and we got so many sheep that just fought. Yeah, you're right. That ain't no flex. That man chose this. And to be great, you got to put it.
Starting point is 00:19:37 If all you do is work, to five and you will not be great as what you're as a professional athlete or a coach. Now you can work a nine to five and be great at your job working 40 hours a week. To each is on. I don't begrudge anybody because I work the nine to five. Well, it was more than nine to five, more like seven to seven. But anyway, you get the idea. Same.
Starting point is 00:20:02 But for me, I wanted more. I didn't want, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I didn't want with a nine to five because I couldn't provide for my family with that. My grandmother had worked long hard enough. My grandma had slept on that, that terrible mattress long enough. It lived in that house long enough. That wasn't enough of me and my brother. And, and it is not, this is the type of shit piss me off.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Somebody in the chat. So now we glorifying absent fathers. So everything, everything we're saying is just going over the head. Yeah. Oh, there are a lot of fathers. They don't, don't, not a professional athlete is not there. anybody glorified no absentee father you just understand there are certain are we not are we not are we not listening are we not listening you just
Starting point is 00:20:56 explained it in death how it is for those that are part of certain world and certain occupations and certain jobs it comes with what you do but be a stay-at-home dad you late to the show bro we already talked about the Broncos losing you late to the show bro We are a hour-a-half. We're 90 minutes into the show. You're talking about, I know what's talking about the Bronco losing. Oh, yo. We just spent 35 minutes talking about the Bronco losing.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Hey there. This is Dr. Jesse Mills, director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health and host of the mailroom podcast. Each January guys everywhere make the same resolutions. Get stronger. Work harder. Fix. What's broken? But what if the real work isn't physical at all?
Starting point is 00:21:52 To kick off the new year, I sat down with Dr. Steve Polter, a psychologist with over 30 years experience helping men unpack shame, anxiety, and emotional pain they were never taught the name. In a powerful two-part conversation, we discuss why men aren't emotionally bulletproof, why shame hides in plain sight, and how real strength comes from listening to yourself and to others. Guys who are toxic, they're immature, or they've got something they just haven't resolved. Once that gets resolved, then there comes empathy and compassion. If you want this to be the year, you stop powering through pain and start unresolved. understanding what's underneath, listen to the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:22:32 or wherever you get your favorite shows. This show contains information subject to, but not limited to personal takes, rumors, not so accurate stats, and plenty more. What's up, man? This is your boy, Nav Green, from the Broken Play Podcast. Look, it's the end of the season, the playoffs are here. But guess what? It ain't the end of your season.
Starting point is 00:22:52 You can always tune in with Broken Play Podcasts with Nav Green on the Black Effect Podcast Network. Not a team who ain't going to the playoffs. The cheese. Oh, it's a rap. It's time to rebuild. Who your MVP right now, then? Drake May up there.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Josh Allen up there still. Oh, my boy, Matthew Stafford. Where did his boat Knicks at? He ain't too far behind. He did all this talk. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, it's crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But Matthew Stafford got better weapon. Caleb Williams. Hey, he should be in that conversation. In what conversation? MVP. Listen to Broken Play with Navgreen from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or whatever you get your podcast. Lines and Times with Spencer Graves on the IHart Radio app is a podcast designed for hunters and fishermen to enjoy success.
Starting point is 00:23:44 I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer. You know, hey, there's a big deer out here. He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying, running my camera. I love patterning and a deer. I like showing up at the right time checking the win, knowing what stand I need to be in, and then whenever it all comes together and it happens. That's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like I then can hang my hat.
Starting point is 00:24:13 But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win. And then when I go in, it's like, yeah, that's cool. I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle. I love it. Listen to lines and tines with Spencer Graves on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Ocho, the Philadelphia Eagles are still looking for their next offensive coordinator. According to ESPN, Jeremy Fowler, the report reported today that the Cowboys block Philadelphia's request to talk to Clayton Adams for the same position with the Eagles. When talking to Philly's OC opening this week, Greg Olson said, if I'm an officer,
Starting point is 00:24:56 offensive play caller, I'm doing everything in my power to get that job. I want to go call plays in Philadelphia. That's a great job. Ocho, he's calling plays in Philly. Is that a great job? Hell yes, it's a goddamn great job. Absolutely. I would love to be the goddamn offensive play caller for goddamn Philadelphia.
Starting point is 00:25:20 You mean to tell me I got Devonthe Smith? I got A.J. Brown. I got Sequin Barkley in the backfield. I got MVP. Are you sure you going to have AJ Brown next year? Are you sure? Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:33 I don't know. Listen, listen. Listen, if I'm the off of the coordinator, I can convince him to state. If I can convince him to state, I can't. Listen to here, AJ Brown, I'm coming in. You're not going to have none of the problems you had last year. I'm the one calling the play is now.
Starting point is 00:25:48 And basically what I'm going to do, what I'm going to do is we're going to be a past first team. The offense, the first 15 scripted plays, for the next 17 to 18 weeks, the first 15, three of those are coming to you. Guarantee you. We will look nothing like we did the previous year, okay? Fly, Eagles, fly. Now that's going to be my notion to him if I was given and awarded the officer
Starting point is 00:26:16 coordinator position for the fiddle of Eagles. Well, that's not a possibility. We know that's not going to happen. But it's a great job, huh? It's a great job. It's a great job. I think depending on who you get in there, they can expand the horizon
Starting point is 00:26:29 to some of the things that Jay and the Hurts, some of the things that he does and some of the things that he doesn't do well, they can make his weaknesses, his strengths. And obviously, we don't want to go in depth to what those may be for those who watch the game from the outside and know what we're looking at. But I think they can get back to,
Starting point is 00:26:48 to what's the word, to prominency, you know, from a often standpoint, where their identity and everything that we talk about is not just their defense they can get back to what they did that year they won the Super Bowl and that's be consistently consistent offensively especially with the run and with and with the pass yeah I agree I think it's a great opportunity you get Lane Johnson back the offensive line we'll be back intact hopefully Dickinson and and and Jurgins get fully healthy you sure the right guard position because it was little it was not as it was wasn't up to part of what you needed it to be, uh, defensively, you needed another rusher. You need edge.
Starting point is 00:27:32 I mean, you got those two guys inside Jordan Davis and Carter. I like Jalen Phillips. Yeah. Can you sign Jalen Phillips? You know, Quentin, uh, Mitchell, Ocho, he'll want some bread. You got to get to him.
Starting point is 00:27:44 You got no choice. You got, you got to get to him. He got no choice. Oh, yeah. He got one more, huh? So, um,
Starting point is 00:27:54 everything. Everything is, it's, uh, everything is really contingent. Mm-hmm. I don't understand what the problem is, on? You got money tied up in both your problems. And your guard and your guard. So you got big money tied up in them. You got money tied up in your quarterback.
Starting point is 00:28:19 You got money tied up in two receivers. Mm-hmm. Now you got to spend some money on the defensive side. That means, oh, so you know when it comes down to it, you can't keep everybody. You just can't. No, you can't. As much as you.
Starting point is 00:28:33 would like to, you just can't. Yeah. Why is that position not filled yet? Everybody, everybody should be hawking, knocking, knocking down Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie's door for that offense of coordinator position. I don't understand what the problem is. I think, Coach, would be honest with you?
Starting point is 00:28:53 Take you. I don't know if this is appealing to a coordinator. I know Greg Olson, but I don't think people view Jalen hurts like a lot of people does, like the Eagles fans does. Right. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I don't think he's as viewed as highly or as it's favorable around the league as maybe Eagles fans have him rated. Right. I'm not sure why, I'm not sure why.
Starting point is 00:29:25 I've heard the dialogue. I've heard the discourses about him, him not being a great quarterback when it comes to making anticipatory skills, I mean, anticipatory throws. receivers having to be wide open before before we let the ball go. I've heard all that stuff, huh? But we talk about a Super Bowl champion. We talk about a quarterback that is capable of throwing games, a quarterback that all he does is win. And he showed you that,
Starting point is 00:29:50 just not at the collegiate level, but he showed you that at the NFL level. He has a great superior supporting cast around him. And I think that that is a great position. Why would you not want to work with a quarterback who has already proved he can win? That makes no sense to me. me. But you've heard the same thing that I've heard.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Because we know a lot of the same people. Yeah. Yeah. And they say the same thing. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm not saying it's true or untrue. I'm just saying a lot of people in position that don't view him. Right. And a lot of times what happens is, is that when guys win, we, we sometimes I think we overvalue because, you know, Dan Marino never won a super. Bowl. But there are some guys that won Super Bowl that couldn't hold Dan Marino's shoes. Absolutely. And so sometimes we get skewed by that.
Starting point is 00:30:45 And that's what that's what rings have done. It's really skewed a lot of people views on how good someone is or isn't. Now, if we want to parse it and says, okay, we're going to compare Brady, Montana, Mahomes, things like that. Okay, I get you. But sometimes the historically and the, and the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, Anthony on greats. Some don't have championships. But to say, well, because he has a championship, he's better. Are we really doing that? No, no, no, you can't.
Starting point is 00:31:19 You can't because you can look at someone in jail, I mean, we all have eyes, right? Some of us got two, some of us got one. You only got one. In my case, I got one. Yeah, I got one, but I can tell you, I have the eye test. You can look at players and understand based on skill set and quality, who's better and who's not. Now, when it comes to a game where you're running rings that collectively, that's a group effort. That's a group effort.
Starting point is 00:31:42 But again, when it comes to individual skill and talent, we can damn sure tell. who's better than who. So that's a conversation that can be had. But if you got two eyes that work just well, like, come on now. Come on now. But again, like, I don't, I don't, honestly, if nobody is buying for that
Starting point is 00:32:00 officer coordinated job with the Philadelphia Eagles, there's one person they can call. Huh? There's one person that they can call that understands. Huh? Because you got people thinking Joe Flacko better than Marino. Who said that? Zubo, but you, that's how they write.
Starting point is 00:32:17 That's how they rate it. No, no, I don't do that. Don't do that. I was smack dab in the middle of Danny. Okay. Yeah. I was in the middle of dance. Dan's era in which he played at an extremely high level.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Right. So I'm old enough to. Oh yeah. That's a blessing. About being as old as I am, Ocho, because I saw a lot of the greats play. And but you know in this generation now, Ocho, if it didn't happen yesterday, if it happened a day, before it didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Or that guy wasn't no good. Right. And there's been a lot of really, really good players that have been forgotten thanks to the internet. Mm-hmm. Because the internet only wants you to remember two weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Mm-hmm. Come on, bro. Yeah, sometimes, that's why you got to take things into your own hands, huh? Yeah, I mean, just making sure, making sure a motherfucker remember. You got to take stuff
Starting point is 00:33:15 in your own hands. True. But anyway, I want to talk about, talking about this job over there in Philly. I know we got a lot of Philly fans in the chat. And, you know, I know Seriani personally. Now, I don't have no experience coaching. Well, Philip Rivers got interviewed for a head coaching job,
Starting point is 00:33:27 and he ain't got no, well, he got experienced coaching at the high school level. Right. Right. So that, that makes me qualify for the position with the Eagles. Now, I might not have no experience calling plays in the NFL, but I call him on Matt. Same thing. In the playbook. Same thing.
Starting point is 00:33:46 You call it plays. That same thing. Hey, same play, same scheme, same tactic, same everything. So Seriani, how let's your boy? Because I ain't got, I ain't got no problem moving to Philly for six months out of the year. The Philly fans already love me, huh? The city already love me, you know? You know, I got the lingo, dickhead.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Bring your boy in. What we talk about? Yeah, rap. Hey there, this is Dr. Jesse Mills, director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health and host of the mailroom podcast. Each January guys everywhere make the same resolutions. Get stronger, work harder, fix, what's broken? But what if the real work isn't physical at all? To kick off the new year, I sat down with Dr. Steve Polter, a psychologist with over 30 years' experience,
Starting point is 00:34:36 helping men unpack shame, anxiety, and emotional pain they were never taught the name. In a powerful two-part conversation, we discuss why men aren't emotional. bulletproof, why shame hides in plain sight, and how real strength comes from listening to yourself and to others. Guys who are toxic, they're immature, or they've got something they just haven't resolved. Once that gets resolved, then there comes empathy, as in compassion. If you want this to be the year you stop powering through pain and start understanding what's underneath, listen to the mailroom on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:35:11 or wherever you get your favorite shows.
Starting point is 00:35:31 You can always tune in with Broken Play Podcasts with Navgreen on the Black Effect Podcast Network. Not a team who ain't going to the playoffs. They're cheese. What's a rap? It's time to rebuild. Who's your MVP right now then? The Drake May up there, Josh Allen up there still.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Oh, my boy, Matthew Stafford. Where did he both of Nick's at? He ain't too far behind. He did all this talk about. What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy. Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan, but Matthew Stafford got better weapon. Caleb Williams.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Hey, he should be in that conversation. In what conversation? He should be in it. Listen to Broken Play with Nav Green from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcast or whatever you got. Get your podcast. Lines and Times with Spencer Graves on the IHR Radio app is a podcast designed for hunters and
Starting point is 00:36:21 fishermen to enjoy success. I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer. You know, hey, there's a big deer out here. He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying running my cameras. I love patterning in the deer.
Starting point is 00:36:39 I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what's stand I need to be in. and then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like, I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win, and then when I go win, it's like, yeah, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:37:01 I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle. I love it. Listen to lines and tines with Spencer Graves on the IHart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or Word. you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Report said it's a serious possibility. Philip Rivers become the next head coach of the bills. It's real. It's not a joke. And you mean to tell me I can't go coach the Eagles as officer coordinator? Until the Rivers get to go coach for the bills? Reports say Josh Allen
Starting point is 00:37:40 has been sitting in on all the head coaching interviews. Jeff Saturday was the last in 2022 with the coach, the last person named NFL head coach all being on an interim basis without any prior college or pro coaching experience.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Norman Brockland in 1961 is the last person to be hired as a full-time NFL coach without any prior college. You know what? That's it. What do you mean? That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:09 That's it. Hey, I'm going to the Eagles. I'm going to the Eagles. I don't care. I don't care. Don't you want them to call you first? I'm calling it. Huh?
Starting point is 00:38:21 This is, I'm doing my interview. This is part of my interview process right now. Hey, Philly fans. You know what? Yeah, I'm, man, it's a wrap. I'm from the pack. I'm, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:38:33 What you doing? You pack it up? Yes. I got my bags ready, boy. I'm going to Philly. I'm good. Hey, hey, listen, they don't even have to hire me. Just bring me in, bring me up for an interview.
Starting point is 00:38:58 You just want to say you had an interview. That's one thing, Hey, young, one thing about it, is one thing I can do is I can switch up real good. Now, you get that, you get, you have Ocho here on camera for nightcap. You give me Ocho, Philadelphia's officer coordinator position. It's a completely different animal. It's a completely different person. I change the way I talk.
Starting point is 00:39:18 I'm very professional. I got on a shirt and tie. We can break down film, we can watch film. I can show you where I can improve some of the things that, excuse me, some of the things that Jayland Hertz may struggle with. I can teach you, I can show you what we need to do to manipulate defenses by changing some of the things that AJ Brown and DeVante Smith do.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Listen, we struggle with the run. What do we need to do with the run? Change some of the things that we do with Sequan Barkley. We got the moot. You don't understand. If they give me an opportunity to coach and call play for the Philadelphia Eagles, you might as well give us the goddamn Lombardi next year.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Because you don't understand what I would bring to that team. Huh? The energy. I'm telling you. That's what they need. They need somebody like me in that building. Man, I'm talking about, I'm talking about, take us to the next. Man, ooh, boy, I'm ready. I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Siriani, I know you're going to see this. A, big Dom, I know you're going to see this. Mr. Lurie, huh? Mr. Roseman, holl at your boy. Howl at your boy? Because it's different. It's different. different.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Stefan Diggs is headed to the Super Bowl after he came back from ACL surgery. He suffered last year while playing for the Texans. Diggs said on the field interview with Cameron Wolf of NFL media. They was calling me why, said I didn't have it anymore. I just wanted to prove to myself I am who I say am. This team took a chance on me and I wanted to make them proud. I'm thankful. Saw Cardi on the field talking about we going to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:40:54 I don't know what it is about Cardi B, but y'all can't make me hate cardi hold on you know what you know what cardi B is one of those people that she's very like they can't make me hate carty she's now you you you can't she's very likable uh i'm happy for step too i'm happy for step he's come a long way you know what injury can do to you mentally injuries can crush you they can crush you especially when you've been playing for a long time you you've had success and and in something like that happened to you most of the time you're not the same you're not the same and he was able to come back from injury be in the right situation and still be a perfect piece to the puzzle for the what did they didn't need they didn't need
Starting point is 00:41:34 uh vikings step on digg they didn't need buffalo step on right that guy yes ego was uncontrollable and it wouldn't work in that environment they got the guy at the right time man cardi i was listening to carty she was you know stephs uh allegedly had another had another uh young lady pregnant. She's like, I'll be, we'll figure it out. We got, hey, hey, let it drive, drop my kid off. You drop yours. I will figure it out.
Starting point is 00:42:02 But I'm crying laughing, man. Hey, man. It's the way she talked and what she'd be saying. I mean, you can't help but like Cardi, man. She can. Uh, that's dope. Let Cardi get some shine. They need to be showing Cardi at their Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I want to see Cardi get some close-ups. Hey, that's dope, man. That's a, in a sense, you look at it, it's almost like a fairy tale for Stefan in the sense. It's almost like a fairy tale. Man, I'm happy for Young Bull, man. All the stuff he's had to go through on and off the field. So I'm glad to see him having success, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:40 in the way, in a way that, man, you couldn't, you could, a movie script couldn't write it any better than this. All right, we'll get you out on this. It's time for our final segment of the EAP. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa. Hey. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Hold on. Hold on. Hey. We're going to go for real? Hey, Adam, listen, you didn't make me take a, I just took a nap today. And I got so much energy right now. Let's get a people one more hour. No, we're not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Ham underscore 910. Ocho, they call Ghostbusters before they call you. Hey, so basically what you're telling me is you a hater. That's what it sounds like to me. D-tune, Ocho, come coach the boys in Philly. We call you Coacho Cinco. Yeah, let's go. Fly Eagles fly.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Fly Eagles fly. Hey, Jalen, I know you're going to see this. Hey, hit my line, boy. We can start early. Jews, 1976, Uncle Cho. Y'all must be doing well because y'all giving ESPN and Fox Hell after the games. People tuning the nightcap if they call, make them pay double. you know being Ocho gonna do what we do we got oh yeah you know we ain't got no more clip oh we're going
Starting point is 00:43:56 air it tomorrow is that thing airing tomorrow hey we'll be airing tomorrow huh oh no no oh what you call them it's Tuesday it's gonna be on the day off right oh my bad my bad my bad my bad my bad what y'all talking about the stuff the stuff from new york oh no show that oh yeah we got to show that no show no I'll show you. Thank you, Juice, man. We appreciate all our chat. You know, hey, we love with Ocho. Y'all go back and forth with Ocho and I.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Hey, y'all going to talk, we're going to talk. That's what this is about. So we really, really appreciate you guys tuning in. We had a big number in the chat tonight. Hopefully we can get an even bigger number for the Super Bowl. So we greatly, greatly appreciate you guys for supporting us thus far. True and infamous. First, thank you, Viking.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Second, Ram fans can't say foot or ball. Third, Stephen. Stephen A, R.C. Cam picked the Rams, and I looked like clouds. It was a good game. It was a great game. I was not taking the Rams over Seattle, not at home.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Unless you can coach Sam Darnel into turning the football over, they're going to be tough to beat. Very. I'm just going to say they're going to be tough to beat. Very tough to beat. Triple X cops Saturday. Can't say for the ball.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Ocho. Excuse me. Also, if Ocho don't pay you $5,900, it might be some furniture moving in San Francisco. Don't worry about it. Hey, I'm all about moving furniture. I mean.
Starting point is 00:45:35 You might be in the ocean. I throw his ass over board. Nah, hey, but I've been in the wait room, man. I'm liable to whoop you right now. I'm weak right now. I'm like, hey, I'm about $2.25, too.
Starting point is 00:45:46 I heard my elbow. Hey, I'm liable to whoop you right now. I heard my elbow, man. 2225, 2255, killing me. That's it? That's it. That's all I got.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Man, I'm reping that. That ain't nothing to me. Well, rep me my money. No, I'm talking about, I'm talking about lifting weights. All right, we'll see. Aaron Jones, Eagles, smoking on that Broncos pack. Did all that hate for what? Ponies in Cancun.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Man, y'all some haters, Eagle fans. Brandon Crow, as a former player, how do you guys play with no sleeves in the cold snowy conditions. If there a reason for not layering up, love the show. Keep it up. Yeah, because you got to be able to hold on to the ball. Bingo, I'm going to say the same thing. A, think about this. When it's cold, right? Think about, think about Derek Henry and the problems he had with the struggles and fumbling the ball. Remember those sleeves he was wearing? You can't feel the ball. You want that skin to leather contact with the ball or is a, it's going to slip
Starting point is 00:46:46 right up out of there. That ball, eh, but see, the thing is not. Especially when it's cold, when his cold is even worse. But you know now, Ocho, they let you have the balls for the whole week. They used to just let us get them on Sunday. That may be slick. So now they don't let the balls get all beat all up. They don't put them in the dry.
Starting point is 00:47:05 They didn't need that all kind of thing. But when it's cold, that bar, the ball, it gets hard and it gets slick. And so I wanted, I wanted the skin, pick skin against my skin. so he put Vaseline on the outer layer to try to keep the heat in but that's it and they can grab you DB is gonna grab it hold
Starting point is 00:47:31 yeah every time no nothing hey hey you know I thought about too hey ask you can hear me ask you can hear me yeah okay look hey hey a chat on this for you too real quick I want to go before we go to the next question I want you to think about this right hey chat listen very closely What pronouns
Starting point is 00:47:52 You with me? What pronouns do chocolate use? What pronouns do chocolate use? Yeah, chocolate. You know, like chocolate you eat. Okay, you don't get a lot. Okay, you got it. There you go.
Starting point is 00:48:15 That's a good one. You got it. You got it. Okay. I'm going to let your head out. You got it. You got it. That's the first time you got it.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Hey, hey, hey. Y'all don't do. Y'all don't know. Y'all don't know. Desmond, Linsky, 599. Hey, Unk, just wanted to give you a big shout out for you, Shay La Portier, me and my family celebrate four birthdays this month. Your cognac was a star. Appreciate you, man.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Thank you very much for your purchase, man. Can't thank you enough. K.I. 9650, Unk. I met Terrell Davis back in November at Ruth Chris in Centennial, Colorado. And I told him I'm a past fan. He laughed and said he feels sorry for me. I wonder if he's laughing now. Damn.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Jay Skee 97. I've been waiting for this 1-2-3 Cancun Donkey fan talking all that ish, but they don't want to be able to tweet back making all these excuses about not playing but told me Stidham was good to do. Man, please. Jayski, y'all got us today. Y'all the team, I got to salute you. Aaron O. and Minnesota messed up big time letting Sam Darno Walk.
Starting point is 00:49:31 They absolutely did. Alan Alexander the Great, how ironic is it that McVeigh didn't trust Kyron Williams on the gold line in Seattle. Chris Evans, I just want to shout out my Patriots defense. They might not have the biggest names, but they are still good players than deserve to be mentioned like other teams with great defenses. But that's what, you know, Coach Belichick always had, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:00 guys that this rose to the occasion. Now, he had some solid players, you know, go you look at Willie McGuinness and, and Rodney Harrison and Teddy Bruske. They had, obviously, they had Revis and things like Revis like that. Ty Law is in the Hall of Fame. Revis is in the Hall of Fame. I'm trying to think who's the next guy. I think Rodney is going to get some attention.
Starting point is 00:50:30 But no, the Patriots played well. They got, I mean, they did a great job. They go out and get, uh, Milton Williams, Gonzales, drafted Gonzales a couple years ago. He's played well. I like him. They got, got me, uh, uh, Jones, uh, uh, in the slot. Caleb-Von Chase on.
Starting point is 00:50:48 It's been unbelievable for this team. Crazy. Anthony Jennery from Alabama's played well. They got guys that played well. They got guys to fit that scheme and do a great job within that scheme. Destroy. Y'all really thought. Gino was better for this team rather than Sam Darno.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Don't run. Huh? I think they offered, I think they offered Gino. Gino said no. They tried to sign Gino. They said no. Yeah, he chose, he chose to leave. He chose to leave.
Starting point is 00:51:17 They let D.K. They let D.K. go. They let Tyler Lockett go. And now I understand why they were able to let those two go because that goddamn emergence of JSN, he wasn't able to reach his full potential until everyone else was out the goddamn dough. And now we see why. Name, name, how stressful is it leading up to the Super Bowl?
Starting point is 00:51:38 Is it hard to sleep nights leading up to it? Did it start to feel more like just another playoff game by your third? Yeah, it's hard to sleep because you don't want to let the team down. You know it's at stake. You don't want to lose that game because I was, you know, winning the Broncos and they roping the field off and they ushering all those Packer fans, Packers players off the field and all of our, you know, we're coming on the field and our families are coming on the field.
Starting point is 00:52:00 Man, that's a terrible feeling. That is a terrible feeling. I didn't feel it, but I can just imagine. Man, please. Yeah, you don't sleep. Now, you know, you get X amount of tickets. You know you're getting 15 tickets. You get two comps and then you pay for 13.
Starting point is 00:52:18 That's very, very expensive. Now, I think the cheapest ticket. Oh, sure, it might be $100,000, $100,000 with the tickets. The tickets are like, I think the tickets are like maybe $2,000 a ticket. And I'm just saying if I was playing in a Super Bowl, honestly, if you're not my immediate family, you know my mama, my grandma, you're not my kids, the best seat in the house for you, to watch the Super Bowl is at home.
Starting point is 00:52:43 That's the best seat. It's the best seat. Outside the people that need to experience the Super Bowl with me are my kids and my immediate. Now I ain't talking about no cousins, no uncles and all that. My mom and my daddy, my kids, and no, and that's it. Your first game watching me play wasn't going to be the Super Bowl. So if you hadn't seen Shannon Sharp in a preseason game, a regular season game or a playoff game.
Starting point is 00:53:10 Yeah. Why are you calling? Yeah. Yeah, don't. I know you got some tickets. I do, but not for you. Mm-mm. So obviously, mom, sister, I mean, mom, sister, kids, girlfriend, my coach, my brother's wife.
Starting point is 00:53:33 and then when I was in Tampa, Bucking and his wife came. So, yeah. Too sloppy Joe, don't forget about the Seattle DV who broke up the pass on fourth down and started jarred with the rev.
Starting point is 00:53:50 Seattle DVs have brain worms or something. Well, no, he was celebrating in front of the Rams bench. And he got carried away. Boy, can you imagine they had lost that? I only want to think about it. Dylan Hell. Wow, I'm a Bucks fan. And I love how Seattle,
Starting point is 00:54:10 how the Seahawks won. JJ Decreased the unsportsman-like pillar to five yards. It should not be 15. It's the same thing. It's rough in the past. One person could be physically hurt.
Starting point is 00:54:22 The other caused hurt feelings. Thanks, New York Giants. It's going to be a first down anyway. Yeah, regardless. Deep Green, V-O. Let it sink in. Sam Donald just, made the Super Bowl before a draft
Starting point is 00:54:37 mates Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. He did. Yeah. Those guys had the opportunities first, but he made it first. V1P3R Gaming 13. Every NFL analyst says Sam needs to be the guy
Starting point is 00:54:52 in week 16 and week 18, division around in the C title game. Will the Super Bowl ring be enough? Look, a lot of people thought he could easily be the first round pick, the year Baker went number one overall. He went number third.
Starting point is 00:55:08 He went to a bad situation. Organizations matter. Coaching matter. Who coaches you matter. He's gotten great coaching. And you see what you see what he's been able to do. Everybody doesn't have that luxury.
Starting point is 00:55:24 A lot of times these guys bounce around and they don't get an opportunity to go study under Kyle Shanahan for a year. To go under Kevin O'Connell for another year. And then Clint Kubiak, that's the same system that Cousanahan runs. What you think he learned it from? Because his dad was on the mic.
Starting point is 00:55:42 And Calcol plays under Cooke in Houston. So. Yeah. I mean, listen, what we've seen from Sam Donald the past two years, you can understand why it was a third picking the draft. This is why. He just went to an unfortunate situation.
Starting point is 00:55:58 If you look at over the years, those that have went to the New York Jets, I mean, need I say more. Don't say no more. Tell him the Virgo as the Raven fans, I couldn't be more happier from Mike McDonald. Look, he had that defense player and you were a couple of plays away,
Starting point is 00:56:16 his last year there. You had Kansas City at home. Defense balled out, but, you know, they made a few more plays when they had to have them, and they went to the Super Bowl, and Mike McDaniel went away, and your defense hadn't been the same since. Votto.
Starting point is 00:56:34 J.S. 8974, Rams fan here. If we take the three points on an Ocho, maybe McVeigh, don't waste those two timeouts and we'll probably have a different outcome. The special team turnover killed us. Yeah, you play double for turnovers. He had dodged the bullet one time. He formulated and he got on it.
Starting point is 00:56:50 This time, I don't know. I don't know how he failed, Ocho. I don't know, I don't know if I've ever seen a guy to do that. Yeah, he tripped over itself, misjudging the ball. And it was, it was going. I would just let it go. Forget that. When he failed, Ocho, I guess he ain't never followed and roll before.
Starting point is 00:57:07 He ain't never stopped dropping roll, huh? Yeah, hey, that's a pressure situation too. Yeah, that was tough. Play for keep. What's up, Ocho? Put my fam in y'all prayers that I lost my mom this morning. Gonna watch y'all tonight to help keep calm my nerves. Rest up, Mom, Yolanda.
Starting point is 00:57:27 You'll be missed. My condolences. I am so sorry to hear that. We're here at nightcap of sending our thoughts and prayers to all those. impacted by Yolanda's passing, man. I appreciate you tuning in, but bro, we understood if you didn't. But I know you want to have your mind on something else
Starting point is 00:57:43 so you're not thinking about the sad, heartbreaking tragedy. But I pray God give you strength, peace and understanding in this time of sorrow. So thank you, man. Thank you for your support and rest easy, Yolanda. June 1976, Uncle Jo, Zion Williamson's signature shoe line is being discontinued by Jordan Man
Starting point is 00:58:06 Brand. The second largest rookie deal, $75 million behind LeBron, 90 million. Oh, thanks for not giving up on us and your Shay-Shay Media team. It's just hard with all the, you know, he's not playing. Okay, we're talking about this tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:58:25 We'll talk about this. We don't want to do it, you know, we'll talk about this tomorrow. But yeah, I saw that. It's tough. Damn. Hopefully he will. Hopefully he wills.
Starting point is 00:58:42 Caleb Robinson, yes, sir. Oh, Caleb Robinson said, yes, sir, Ocho. Claim your Patriot's victory. Nope, we're not letting him do that today. Listen, I was just showing love. I was just showing love. I was just showing love to the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:58:57 I was just showing love, congratulating them for actually making it. And I just so happened to be on the team, you know, not too long ago. You called a touchdown again by my barco? Yeah, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. But the fact that they beat your Bronco I'm kind of happy about that.
Starting point is 00:59:14 No, I'm not, I'm saying I'm congratulating them for beating y'all. Not just be, they built their BTA. Uh, hey, you go on to Cancun with them? Uh, no. Baba Patel up. Shut your a-up. Don't say nothing tonight.
Starting point is 00:59:33 It's Ocho show tonight, for real. Your Broncos are effed up next year. Pat Mahomes will be back to run that division. Burrow Lamar Allen will be in contention, too. So what does that mean for your Patriots? you do realize that if they back, that makes it difficult, more difficult for you guys too, right?
Starting point is 00:59:52 So you think the Broncos just the only one they got to play those teams? I'm King Reel. Hey, Ocho, how much I got to pay to get a gym session with you in Miami. Any day is good for me. I need to get right in the gym with my favorite pro player.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Hey, man, you got to pay me nothing, man. You know, I'm out here, man. I'm all the way up out west. I be in now, you know, getting at it, you know, six in the morning. So you up at six in the morning, you come on out west, man, you know. I'm easy to find. Trudy large, Shea, do you believe the altitude and the theater affects the players, not just the weather?
Starting point is 01:00:31 I think it's a combination of both, but you've got to put them in a situation. I mean, the game was really slow pace today. I mean, nobody could really run up-tempo. So it was a really a lethargic type of a game. So the Broncos really could never put them under the gun. done. But I thought the, uh, the, uh, the, the Patriots did a great job of handling, um, how they handled the weather, how they handled the, uh, the inclement weather and how they handled the Broncos defense. And they won and they, uh, they earned that victory today.
Starting point is 01:01:01 J.R. underscored triple I. If only the Broncos would have picked up free agent quarterback who run the ball and used him in the second half, they'd probably be heading to the Super Bowl. Maybe we'll never know, bro. El Madden is 90. Seahawks winning. It's all coming from a Falcons fan. To be continued. Bengals, they're not good.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Bo Nix, better than John L. I ain't even finished that. Piano, Matt. Hey, Uncle Ocho. Can you give a birthday shout out to my cousin Hauser? He's a lifelong Steeler fan. Hauser. Happy birthday, bro.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Thank you. Steelers, hire Mike McCarthy. Hopefully that brings you guys some, some playoff success. But thank you for watching Nightcap. I appreciate that. We appreciate that. Daniel Wells, Uncan Ocho,
Starting point is 01:01:54 we Viking fans know we're effed up with Sam, but damn, y'all don't got to keep shoving in our face. We know we're effed up. Yeah, we're not going to shove it in your face. I mean, it's, I mean, imagine when he wins if he hossed that Super Bowl, what y'all going to see?
Starting point is 01:02:09 I'll be pet. I take out a full page ad. Thank you, Minnesota. No, I wouldn't do that. Toothorce 81, Seahawks flying high. You know this. Ballie. We're a Super Bowl bound.
Starting point is 01:02:20 We focused. You look good. You look good. The waddy way Lamar make you cut Jones has a lot. Oh, has the slot. Better not let pass wear white. Make them Sammy C. the ghost again. Love the show.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Bro. That's not a good matchup for Jones, man. But look, the one thing I know about the Patriots, In big games, they always be ready to play. I expect nothing less. Good evening, gentlemen. Will you talk about any UFL games when their season starts? I mean, maybe here and there,
Starting point is 01:03:02 if there's some spectacular plays, but I don't think that's something that we're like going to detail like we do with the NFL or college. Ashley Jablere. Hey, Uncle Ocho, my name is Ashley. Hmm. I would not, could I have guessed that? Could I get a shout out of y'all are my favorite?
Starting point is 01:03:20 Why is y'all podcast much better than the Kelsey brothers? I think we do different things. But first of all, happy birthday, Ashley. Thank you for watching Nightcap. Happy birthday. We appreciate your support.
Starting point is 01:03:32 I thank the Kelsey's brother. I think Kelsey's do a great job. We just do different. We just different. We just different. We're going to tell funny stories. We're going to talk about things that a lot of people, a lot of other podcasts aren't going to talk about.
Starting point is 01:03:47 But we appreciate your support. Sports Grill. 15. Oh, Cho, need that, what's that? Estabelle, Jersey from Chelsea. Is that him? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a young, young Brazilian player.
Starting point is 01:04:03 He played for Chelsea. He played for Chelsea. He really nice. He had a killer goal today. It would be, a matter of fact, equivalent, he'd be like, Dante Hall in his time. That's him. He's young, young Brazil.
Starting point is 01:04:17 He'd be the closest thing we have, the name of it, when it comes to a player with excitement and still has a little flair to his game. True speaks one-on-one with Mike, the Steelers will have their first losing season in a while, plus they don't have a quarterback. Well, Art Rune is the second said he is open to Aaron Rogers coming back. Aaron is very familiar with Mike and that system,
Starting point is 01:04:42 so we'll see what happens. Fans, Belichick's text, the wrong Brian congratulating him on the New York head coaching job was wow. Text the floor is meant for dayball, unc. Should coaching spots only be open after the Super Bowl? No. But I would have to know why everybody pulling out that Brown's coaching thing. Mike McDaniel was there.
Starting point is 01:05:07 Mike McDaniel, say, no, I only want to talk about. You know why. Hey, a chat, make sure y'all spam the Eagles and let them know how I'll let you boy, even if it's just for an interview. You ain't got to hide. You bring me in for an interview. Eagles office a coordinator job. Sawya Carson, 93 Unk versus 08, Ocho, 12 rounds, three minutes boxing.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Who takes the win? And what? I'm knocking Ocho out. Are you talking Ocho? Are you about in boxing or MMA? Oh, I know you ain't winning MMA. Hey, Uncle, you know that I'll choke you out. I'll make you tap out.
Starting point is 01:05:50 I got, I got ground game like Kabee. What's you talking about? I would make you tap out, man. I'll break your arm. Ivan Augustino, game on the line. Who y'all take it? J.S.
Starting point is 01:06:03 and a puka. Either one. That's why I'm surprised on that fourth down. They didn't throw the ball to puka or, uh, or, or, Devante. Scoo and Steve,
Starting point is 01:06:15 oh, Cho, I recommend the show for Fanatics Fest in July. Please come. If we receive an invite, that'll be something we'll seriously, seriously consider.
Starting point is 01:06:27 The Sean show. What's up, What are some changes you'll make to the Pro Bowl to get fan interested again? It's nothing. I know. I got the first one.
Starting point is 01:06:41 You take some of the Pro Bowl players from the past that are still in shape and have to go against the current players. That's exciting. That's exciting because I would love to go to the Pro Bowl and route up some of these DBEs that think they can cover
Starting point is 01:06:57 any of us from the. the past. I just think it would be dope. It's over. Tio, Tio is in great shape. Can you imagine Tio, I don't even know what D.B's made the Pro Bowl. Tio routing up Denzel Ward. I'm sure Denzel probably made it. Or Pat Certaine having to deal with me at 50 years old and me scoring on him. Man, please. It'd be dope. Uh, Paradise Lane boy. Oh, Ocho, do you think teams are going to get by with mediocre quarterbacks and elite defense is history repeating itself? No. because, you know, Jake, Drake may had a,
Starting point is 01:07:29 a mediocre game, but if you look at his play, he's in the MVP discussion. So clearly he hasn't been mediocre. No, you have that. And you see the difference. When he needed to make a play, he made a play. The difference is Stittem didn't make a play. So even with an elite defense.
Starting point is 01:07:45 So no, history is not going to repeat itself. Remedy 944. How's Ocho going to complain about the Cowboys keeping pickings with lamb, while Bengals have 276 men. million dropped up in T and Chase. Come on, man. What does that have,
Starting point is 01:08:00 what does that have to do with Pickens going somewhere we can get his true value? Okay? This has nothing to do with what the Bengals did. I want Piggins to get his true value and be his own number one. They said they wanted T to get his true value and be his own number one.
Starting point is 01:08:17 He wanted to stay there. Well, maybe Piggins want to stay. No, Piggins wants to go get his money. He's not going to get it there. I talk to him. I can call him. right now. Flip tips.
Starting point is 01:08:27 Hey, uh, love y'all. Go pass. It's my birthday tomorrow. 40. I was nervous. Happy birthday,

Shane Miller, why no receivers catch points? I like that for you. It's important. Well, you see, once he bauble two of them, they put Kyron Williams back there, but he just fair caught it.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Uh, Marlin Spive, uh, I bet your boy Skip tried to make an argument that Baker better than Adam D. Who was Adam?
