He's been absent from the majority of voluntary off-season work. His absence is believed to be contract-related as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. His absence is notable, and he's typically been present
Starting point is 00:02:22 even for voluntary work in the past off-season. Things appear to be different now with Tua wanting a new deal to extend the contract beyond roughly a $23 million fifth-year option he's set to play on. In February, Tua voiced his confidence that the Dolphins would sort the deal out with him. That still hasn't happened, though, despite some warnings that there's no indication that Miami
Starting point is 00:02:45 is balking at a long-term deal. Hey, listen. The NFL is crazy for one. The Dolphins are crazy for two. I understand playing this waiting game with the skilled position players. I understand playing it with the receivers.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I understand playing it with the DBs. At times, I really, really understand playing it with the running. I understand playing it with the DBs. At times, I really, really understand it, you know, playing it with the running backs, especially with the way they valued. They're not valued as they once were back in the day. the teams that are sure about their franchise quarterbacks and locking them in and giving them surety and the confidence, you are our number one guy. You are the one that we see in the near future to be our quarterback for this franchise. For them to even be playing this game and haven't come to a deal yet, I don't understand what the issue is. What message are they sending to her? For him to be having to wait. What message are they sending him with allowing him to miss voluntary workouts
Starting point is 00:03:52 where you should be there, throwing and getting the rapport with your receivers. Yeah. Getting the timing down. This is when you want to get all that stuff. This is when you want to get all that work in. What are we doing? I have no idea. I think the thing is thing is ocho where are they going with it because the thing is what quarterbacks try to do whether they're worth it or not
Starting point is 00:04:13 i hate to say somebody's worth it but what they try to do is that they try to advance the ball so joe burns about 53 55 two is trying to get to be 56. So the next guy can get 57. And the next guy can be 58. So with the exception of the running back position, everybody's trying to outdo that because they want to keep the ball moving. And if you notice, since Christian McCaffrey got his deal,
Starting point is 00:04:40 no running back has ever been able to approach that $16 million in which he got not even close do you think two are trying to get more than the top three quarterbacks to go and rate he said hold on joe burrow got his deal joe burrow hasn't won a super bowl either i haven't won a super bowl joe's won a couple playoff. You know how they think. I'm just telling you what the agent is saying. Yeah, that might be the issue. That might be the issue.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Of course. That might be the issue. Now, are you trying to break the bank and reset the market? Because if you do that, you mess up them being able to keep the pieces around you. That ain't got nothing to do with me. My job is to play football, not try to work on the cap. You got a general manager, you got a capologist for that.
Starting point is 00:05:31 You ain't ask your capologist to go throw touchdowns. You ain't ask your capologist, you ain't ask the general manager to catch no passes. So why are you asking me to try to manage your cap? Yeah, that's dangerous though. That's dangerous. That's dangerous, especially on his part. I think Tua,
Starting point is 00:05:46 Tua, his success is because of the pieces he has around him. I wouldn't take a huge chunk of the pie trying to get $55 million a year and understanding that if you're getting
Starting point is 00:05:55 $55 million a year, then they're going to have to take some of them nice pieces around you that also make a good... That ain't my concern. It's got to be your concern if you're trying to win my concern. It gotta be your concern
Starting point is 00:06:05 if you're trying to win. It gotta be your concern. Hold on. You don't say that when them teams ain't trying to win. I understand what you're saying, but come on now. I'm just saying. You see what we do? We'll hold players to a standard we were not willing to hold the teams to. You see what you're saying?
Starting point is 00:06:25 Now, how many teams you actually think out there, oh, you're really trying to win? Oh, like really trying to win? Yes. Really, really? The Chiefs, the Bills, the Bengals. I'm talking about really trying to win and actually have a chance.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Philly, Cowboys. They ain't trying to win. You know, it's very few and the rest of the teams, they know they're far away. They are pieces away. Oh, so,
Starting point is 00:06:55 it's kind of, it takes a special type of person to really work hard. Yes, sir. Knowing I'm making X. I'm going to make X regardless whether I work hard. Yes, sir. Knowing I'm making X. I'm going to make X regardless whether I work hard or not. Every team knows I'm going to get $300 million even if I don't make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I got $300 million coming. Plus, I got the revenue from attendance. Plus, I got concession. Plus, I got parking. Plus, I got naming rights. Plus, I got local TV. Plus, I got merchandise. So, I got local TV, plus I got merchandise. So what's my incentive,
Starting point is 00:07:30 Ocho? I need you to give me an incentive. I hate when you put it like that, bro. I hate when you put it like that. Baltimore's trying to win. Oh, yeah. No Steve Bichotte. Like I said, when I was there, he was the majority owner.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Then a couple of years later, he bought the remaining shares from Art Modell, rest his soul. But when it comes down to it, man, it is what it is. I just want the players, Ocho, because here's the thing. I want the players
Starting point is 00:08:03 to get as much money as they possibly can. Because you know that day coming, Ocho, because here's the thing. I want the players to get as much money as they possibly can. Because you know that day coming, Ocho. Oh, yeah. I done gave you a pay cut, and guess what you're going to do one day? You're going to let me go. Always. If Tom Brady gave the
Starting point is 00:08:19 for 20 years, Tom Brady gave the Patriots pay cut after pay cut after discount after discount after discount. And when he wanted two more years, what did they tell him, Mocho? Nah, we think we gonna move on. Six Super Bowls. Nine, no, six Super Bowl wins. Nine Super Bowl appearances.
Starting point is 00:08:44 How many AFC Championship games? No, six Super Bowl wins, nine Super Bowl appearances. How many AFC Championship games? After discount, after discount, after discount. MVP after MVP. Guys, can I get two more years? Nah, we straight. But remember whose call that was, though. Hey, you told me if you tried to win Tom tried to win
Starting point is 00:09:08 Tom still Tom proved he could still win Tampa went to the playoffs every year now do I believe New England was equipped no he went to a ready made team look at I believe they could have made the playoff between the year before Jameis wouldn't stop turning the ball over you ain't going nowhere if you
Starting point is 00:09:24 if your quarterback got 30-plus turnovers and they still finished 9-7 with 30-plus turnovers, Ocho. That's crazy. Think about how good
Starting point is 00:09:36 that team was to win that many games with 30-plus turnovers. Yeah, they were good. Do I believe New England could have won a Super Bowl? Not with that roster. Not with that roster.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Coach Belichick allowed that roster to get beat up, had allowed it to get slow, had allowed it to get old. His draft didn't hit anymore. He's drafting players that within two years, they're gone. And he had lost his magic. And you start reaching in deeper and deeper and trying to get diamonds in the rough like he got gronk in the second round like he got hernandez in the third round like he was getting some of these guys in the later rounds damn it got to the point that even tom greatness couldn't overcome the mistakes that he was making in the draft and in free agency.
Starting point is 00:10:26 And when Tom couldn't overcome it, you know something going on. Because that mofo could overcome anything. Anything, yeah. And he said, you know what, man? I still got it in me. I want to play some more. You know, think about all the money that you've saved by me taking less
Starting point is 00:10:41 than what the market required for a quarterback. I said, nah, Tom, we really appreciate that. But, you know, hey, you know what's the matter? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right. I can see what you want, man. But we want to go in a different direction. Tom Brady should have been like a Coach Krzyzewski or Coach Smith
Starting point is 00:11:07 Coach Summit without any checkered path, checkered anything in the resume you retire when you want to son I understand it's going to become but if he wants to play two more years let him get two more years
Starting point is 00:11:22 let him get it he's earned it yes it was deserved wants to play two more years, let him get two more years. Let him get it. He's earned it. Yes. It was deserved. Yes. That just goes to show you, they're going to come a time, no matter how well you play, no matter how many discounts you
Starting point is 00:11:39 give them, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice got released the greatest of all time so in in other words basically what you're saying is to it is in his right to do what he's doing then yeah okay okay i like i like it i like just, listen, I just want to see my team. Obviously, you know, I'm from Miami. I want to see my team do well. But I do understand how Tua is able to be successful is because of the pieces that he has around him. Tyreek, Waddle, OBJ.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Yeah. A-Chan, Mostert, the offensive line. It's, yeah. You take all the meat and potatoes, that money. H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H- then it can get a little scary. Well, I don't believe he's that. I don't think he's Mahomes. We see Mahomes. They traded one of the, probably the most dangerous receiver in football. And they go to two Super Bowls. The guy wins an MVP and two Super Bowl MVPs.
Starting point is 00:12:54 He's not that. He's not that. Can you imagine if I gave Mahomes those weapons? Come on, that's unfair. But that's what I'm saying. That's my thing, Ocho, is that, look, that's a great situation. And I understand.
Starting point is 00:13:13 For me, you know, I'm just saying get your money. But I got to look around the situation. Okay, I'm in a situation. I got no state tax. I got Tariq. I got Waddle. I got Mostert. I got, you know, Wilson.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I got these guys. Odell. Odell. I got, you know, Wilson. I got these guys. Odell. Odell. I mean, you see what happened. You lost Christian Wilkins. I mean, Xavier Howard is gone. You had to get off a couple of linebackers. You got Chubb that was hurt.
Starting point is 00:13:38 You got Phillips that was hurt. I mean, you got to score points because the likelihood of guys coming back from Achilles and being able to play right now. Not good. I mean, they do got a nice D in from goddamn Penn State. Chop. Oh, yeah, yeah. Chop Robinson.
Starting point is 00:13:55 I like Chop. Yeah. Bleacher Report ranked every NFL offense after the 2024 draft. The 49ers with one. The Chiefs were two. Lions with three, the Dolphins were four, Eagles were five,
Starting point is 00:14:08 Ravens six, Bengals seven, Bills eight, Cowboys nine, Packers are 10. I'm surprised, you know, because every year the Cowboys normally number one.
Starting point is 00:14:20 For real? Yeah. I'm trying, I'm trying to think about this. All right, the 49ers deserve to be exactly where they are. The Chiefs as well. Yeah. Lions, hell yeah. Amon St. Brown, that boy.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Yeah, Jamison Williams. They got Laporta. They got Gibbs at running back, yeah. Dolphins, okay. Dolphins, obviously. Dolphins. Obviously. Eagles. Goddamn.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Devontae and goddamn A.J. Brown. And they just added Saquon. Saquon. They got Dallas Goddard. It's going to be a little higher. Ravens. Rightfully so.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Bengals. You already know what that what the offense is like. Bills, I like it. You know what? I like the Packers. Oh, yeah. I like the Packers. I'm not so sure I wouldn't have...
Starting point is 00:15:14 You know what? Had they kept Aaron Jones, I'm not so sure I wouldn't have the Packers higher. Why would I just get ready to say that? I would put the Ravens down a little bit. And I would have, in place of? I would put the Ravens down a little bit and I would have in place of, I would put the Bengals where the Ravens are. Then I put the Packers, then the Bills, then the Ravens. Simply because they don't throw the ball enough for me. They don't throw it enough. Too much of the onus of the offense is based on Lamar and running. Obviously, they have Derrick Henry now. So I think that takes
Starting point is 00:15:49 some of the pressure off of Lamar. But just the fact that they run the ball so much. Well, maybe they got Derrick Henry. They're counting on
Starting point is 00:15:56 Derrick Henry to take some of that running load off of Lamar. I have a question. Yes. Why the Jets offense? Why is it in here? Is it simply for the fact
Starting point is 00:16:04 that they have Aaron Rodgers? Where the Jets offense? Why is it in here? Is it simply for the fact that they have Aaron Rodgers? Where the Jets at? The Jets at 13? Yes. Yes. Okay. Okay. I like the Colts.
Starting point is 00:16:16 I like the Chargers. Seahawks and Geno. I like that. I like Texans. I like the Texans and Rams or some good ones. Man, I put... Hold on. The Texans
Starting point is 00:16:27 with Diggs, with Nico Collins, Tank Dale, Dalton Schultz. Yeah. Are we sure? I mean, I'm trying to figure out what y'all like so much
Starting point is 00:16:36 about the Cowboys. Okay, they got CD. Okay, what else? So would you... Hold on. There ain't no way to... Hold on. You think the cowboys offense is better than the texas no they're not no no no hell no with digs tankdale nico collins don't show and cj that's crazy oh hell no that's crazy work. No. Hey, the Packers are really, really good.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Packers are really, really good. No, hell no. Ain't no way the Texans got to be out of the top 10. Nah. I'm not so sure they're not better than the Bills. Are you just about, I mean, I'm trying to figure out, the Bills did lose Stephon Diggs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:20 So, I mean, Coleman is a rookie. Yeah. They lost the, what's the other receiver that went to Jacksonville? Gabe Davis. Gabe Davis? Yeah. So, I mean, Coleman is a rookie. Yeah. They lost the, what's the other receiver that went to Jacksonville? Gabe Davis. Gabe Davis? Yeah. Look, I like King K. I like Dawson Knox.
Starting point is 00:17:34 But are we sure the Bills offense is better than the Texans? And you know what it does too? It puts the onus on Josh Allen. Now you are who you are. You are who you say you are. Now you have a superstar that's gone. So you're going to have to do your due diligence with what you got. And I think Keon Coleman is going to be phenomenal.
Starting point is 00:17:58 You know, if the entertainment value that he brings through the media is anything like his play, they're going to be fine. And, and they just got Joe Mixon. Yeah, Joe and Houston. Yeah. No, hell no. Ain't no way the Texans should be 12. So you putting the Texans at nine? Man, I'm putting the Texans in front of the Bills,
Starting point is 00:18:25 in front of the Bengals. I'm talking about just from an offensive standpoint. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You're putting them in front of the Bengals? Yeah. Shit. Oh, now you tripping. Now you done bumped your head.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Now we got Joe Burrow. We still have T. We still have Chase. We got the young Speeds the Burden from Alabama. Come on now. Don't do that. I put him in Speeds, the Burden from Alabama. Come on now. Don't do that. I put him in front of him. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Don't do that. Put him in front of him. I thought you loved these. I do. All you was talking about, man, Tank Dale, old Nico. That's all you was talking about last year.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Oh yeah, it really did. But now we talk, now we talk about the, we talk about Chase, Higgins, and Burden. Did you see what CJ did last year? Yeah, I saw what CJ did.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Mm-hmm. See what happened? See what happened? See Burrow missed a few games. Now we done forgot. All I'm saying is that, hey. All right, all right, all right. Janet Jackson, what have you done for me lately?
Starting point is 00:19:22 Lately. Lately. All right, Ocho. Former Texans cornerback Steve Nelson takes a shot at D'Amico Ryan. Let's go, Milk Dune, man. It's your time to shine. Damn all that meathead persona. Time to get hands dirty for the city. We need, hold on.
Starting point is 00:19:40 I'm trying to, hold on. What is this about? Determining the Houston, right? We need, okay, we need local sports teams to send relief to Houston residents. People are without power and food.
Starting point is 00:19:53 I was there. I was worried. I was not so sure that we're going to be able to do Thursday night because it kind of knocked the power out in the hotel. And I was only able to watch
Starting point is 00:20:03 the second half of the game. And, you know know the guy came up and says you know I'm sorry Mr. Sharp that we got there late that we had to get people that was end up being stuck in the elevator and uh and so I mean I'm sure
Starting point is 00:20:16 but I'm saying why are you trying to take a shot at D'Amico that's the Houston Texans that's uh uh what's the owner what's the owner name whatAmico, that's the Houston Texans. That's a... What's the owner name? McNair. That's a... Cal or Hal McNair. I mean, so you're not going to say
Starting point is 00:20:34 anything. So you're not going to say anything about the Houston Texans and their ownership. You're going to make it about the head coach? I have a question. Man, get me. Get kicked, Rob. I love Brother Stephen Nelson, but did he see what D'Amico Ryans and the Houston Texans did
Starting point is 00:20:50 for the city last year? Did he miss what they did last year? The improvement in the drafting of C.J. Stroud as a rookie who had a historic season as a quarterback? He did not see what they did? But you mean trying to get your hands dirty? Bro, come on now.
Starting point is 00:21:05 But they got dirty. I guess he's trying to say now with the tornadoes. It was a tornado, right? A tornado that touched down. Knocked the power out. There are people without water. There's people without power. They want him
Starting point is 00:21:20 to go out there. Oh, get his hands dirty. Yes. Okay, okay, okay. Okay, okay, okay. I see where you're going with it. My bad, my bad. But I'm just saying, but hold on, bro. I mean, so, you know, you still got the Texans. They live there.
Starting point is 00:21:37 You got the Astros, Crane. He's there. So you ain't mentioned no other, he ain't mentioned no other head coach. He ain't mentioned no manager, which is in baseball, no head coach, which is in basketball,
Starting point is 00:21:53 just D'Amico. You see? You see? Is that, was, did Steve get a chance? Was he there? Did he play last year? I don't, the name is not familiar to me. He played last year.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Oh, with the Texans? Yeah. Okay. They must be getting the boot. I see where this is coming from. Okay, I get it. I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Understandable. I get it. I get it. But if anything. Understandable. I get it. I get it. But if anything, I would be calling on ownership. Ownership to do and help
Starting point is 00:22:33 the city of Houston. The owners, the ones with the long money should be first in line to want to help the people. You know,
Starting point is 00:22:44 the same people that buy the merchandise, the same people that attend the games. I mean, this is the time where the owners can repay and help those that are in need. That helps them during basketball season, football season, baseball season. You know, this is their time to step up. I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on Good Company, the podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next.
Starting point is 00:23:12 In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there, and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment,
Starting point is 00:23:52 and sports collide, and hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm sure they'll get it figured out. But I think normally in situations like this, the sports teams in those cities, they normally step up. Especially, you remember when they had the flood? I think all the sports franchises,
Starting point is 00:24:35 I think they stepped up. J.J. Watt raised like $20, $30 million. They had, what did they call those things? What did they have those things? TV. There used to be the United Negro College. What do they call it when they raise money? What are those?
Starting point is 00:24:51 Telethon. Telethon. Telethon. Telethon, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They had that. So I'm certain that the sports franchises in those areas, as far as some local businesses, I'm sure they'll step up i think maybe
Starting point is 00:25:05 some some other uh owners around the league will also donate the the uh the residents of houston i know it's your inconvenience right now hopefully there are no loss of life uh just some property those things can be can be replaced right so hopefully i don't think anybody i didn't read, and if I'm speaking out of turn, please correct me, but hopefully no one lost their life. But I'm going to push back on this for him just to call out.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Some people lost their lives. So we're sorry about the lives that were lost in this disaster, this hurricane that touched down on Thursday. But I'm disappointed that he would call out an individual by name. It doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't sit right with me. So I'm sure the franchises, the sports franchises,
Starting point is 00:26:00 the sporting franchises in Houston, as well as some local businesses will come together. Even some of the owners around the league, that's what they normally do. And they'll build back Houston. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to the families impacted by all of this and the lives that were lost. So here at Nightcap, you have our deepest sympathies and prayers.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Scottie Scheffler was arrested before the PGA Championship. The world's top-ranked golfer was arrested Friday morning while driving to Valhalla Golf Club to prepare for his second round of the tournament. The incident occurred amid a traffic jam caused by a fatal accident
Starting point is 00:26:40 about a mile away where a tournament volunteer was struck and killed by a shuttle bus. According to a police report, Scheffler, in an attempt to bypass the bottleneck, pulled around and congested into an adjacent lane where Detective Brian Gillis of the Louisville Metro
Starting point is 00:26:56 Police was directing traffic. Gillis said that he stopped Scheffler and attempted to give him instructions, but Scheffler refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging him to the ground. While many details around the incident remain murky, this much is clear. Scheffler was arrested, slapped with four charges, three driving-related misdemeanors, and a second-degree assault of a police officer, a felony, before being released in time to make the Friday morning start.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I think the officer probably didn't want to hear what was going on probably because of the incident that happened. Someone had lost their life and Schefter trying to go around the traffic and get wherever he had to be on time, I'm assuming for tea time or whatnot.
Starting point is 00:27:45 I mean, listen, I would have tried to be as nice as possible to the officer explaining, listen, I'm trying to get to so-and-so. I'm trying to get to point A so I could be there on time. I'm so-and-so, I'm getting ready for it to play in the PGA Championship, whatever.
Starting point is 00:28:02 I'm assuming maybe he didn't do that. And maybe if he did, it might have worked. Obviously, if he did, maybe the officer didn't care. Maybe the officer might not have been a fan of golf. He might not have been a fan of goddamn Scotty Scheffler. But this incident could have been prevented.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Yeah, if Scotty Scheffler would have stopped, that's how you prevent it. Yeah, yeah. Because when there's an officer on site, he takes command of all. So I don't care about a traffic light. I don't care about a stop sign. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:33 In command. You must obey the officer. Yeah, obey. So once he says stop, you trying to pull around and accelerate, there's no... Hold on. I thought all you had to do was obey that's what
Starting point is 00:28:46 they tell us oh yeah oh yeah i thought that's what i heard yeah if you just obey the officer now you know a lot of times compliance it's amazing yeah it amazing. Non-compliance. And he got to his event. I know there have been situations where non-compliance, the family had to release white doves on a date. All I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:29:16 I ain't just saying it is what it is, but I'm just saying I thought non-compliance. And this is, hold on, this is Louisville? And this is Louisville? I know this is not where Breonna Taylor lost her life when they kicked in the...
Starting point is 00:29:29 Yeah. We'll discuss that another day. We'll make that a segment another day, another time. Another day. Hopefully everything can get cleared up. Scotty Shuffler was in the wrong. I think he admitted that he was in the wrong. At least I hope he acknowledges that he was in the wrong because the officer at that point in time, the officer doesn't know.
Starting point is 00:29:51 He just knows there's a there's been a tragedy. Yeah. And normally tragedy is going to trump whatever that you may, you know, maybe at that point in time, the golf tournament takes us take a backseat to loss of life. Yeah, always, always. And I don't think I don't you know what he probably didn't even understand what was going on. He was just trying to get to get to where he was. And, you know, one thing when there's a traffic jam, when there's when there's traffic, cops are not explaining to you what went on. Yeah, they got to went on. Yeah. They're not explaining to you what went on. They're telling you,
Starting point is 00:30:26 listen, stop. Stay in line. You can't go around all the traffic because if you can do it, then everybody else is going to follow right behind you and try to do it to you.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Scott, that's what I do. You know, me and Scottie play 18 holes at Pebble Beach. Oh, Lord have mercy. Hey, keep talking, though, so I got to go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:30:44 All right. Hey, chat, what y'all want to talk about? What y'all want to talk about? Hey, anybody in the chat from Miami? Anybody in the chat from Miami? We hooping tomorrow at Pepper Park at 8 o'clock in the morning if y'all want to come through. Y'all want to come through and check me out. And I scored
Starting point is 00:30:59 two goals a night, too. I scored two goals a night on my soccer team and my Jamaican team. We call top notch. Matter of fact, we so good, we could probably beat Real Madrid right now. That's how good we are. All Jamaicans. I'm the only Yank.
Starting point is 00:31:13 And I don't understand nothing them boys be saying. Other than that, chat, y'all good. I love y'all. Make sure you use the code. If you're getting Nightcap merch, the code was Saturday. Yep, Saturday 20. That's what it is. Saturday 20. That's the code. So y'all Nightcap merch. The code was Saturday. Yep, Saturday 20. That's what it is. Saturday 20.
Starting point is 00:31:27 That's the code. So y'all grab the merch. The quality is real good. The quality is real thick. Real, real, real thick. I will go into explanation on the type of cotton we're using, but we use the kind of cotton
Starting point is 00:31:41 they use on mummies. Yeah, that's the kind of cotton we use. You know, that's that That's that good Egyptian cotton. Yeah. And that's pretty much it. Oh, recycle? We use recycled cotton? Yeah, we use recycled cotton from Egypt.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Like the same cotton that they wrap the mummies with. Yeah, that cotton. Real nice, thick. You can wash it and wear it again. It don't shrink. That kind of cotton. Good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Hey, I tell you what we're going to do. This is what we're going to do, Ocho. If we can get 20 people to order in the next 10 minutes, I'll ship you your mug. Hey, 20 people. Hey,
Starting point is 00:32:39 20 people, man. We'll see how bad they want you to get this mug. 20 people. If y'all could listen, just do me a solid. I would like my mug. I would like to have my nightcap mug so I can enjoy my lattes and my cafe con leche in the mornings.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Just do me a solid. I'd never ask y'all for nothing. I'm normally on the giving end, but if you could find it in your heart, 20 of you could find it in your heart, 20 of you, just do me this solid. Please.
Starting point is 00:33:17 As if my life depended on it. I want that rail up. Rail! Baby! Hell, rail, she got an order, too. Yeah, matter of fact, oh, and let me tell her to go order something real quick, man, because that's going to be one out of 20.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Ocho, you ain't getting the mugs. And I sent Ocho his Funko. Come here. Put a bun on. And I sent Ocho his phone code. Rail just donated. Your aunt just bought something for $200. Hey, she just gave us $200. Yeah, she did. Yeah. Hey, let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Let me tell you something. That's a hoodie. That's a hoodie and a hat. Okay, so send me my mug. No, no, no, no, no. You got to get 20 items. Okay, what? Other people, other people, man.
Starting point is 00:34:17 See, hey, other people, y'all order, man. Because, see, Real gave us $200. Ah, my baby got money. My baby got money. My baby got money. Yeah. See? You see what I'm talking about? I gave you $100. What?
Starting point is 00:34:37 And as a consolation, I'll put that in. Hey, you're a good one, boy. You're a good one, boy. I don't care what they say about you. I don't care what they say about you. But, hey, chat, y'all do me that solid now.
Starting point is 00:34:52 My baby already gave her. Hey, my baby got money, boy. She dropped $200 like it was nothing, too. Like it ain't nothing? Yeah, like it ain't nothing. And you somebody else just signed a prenup. Now, you see, that's why I ain't signing no goddamn prenup because I want some of that. Yeah prenup because I want some of that.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yeah. Yeah, I want some of that. All right, Ocho, it's time for our last segment of the day. Hold on, where's, what? Oh, yeah, check this out, Ocho. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:16 You gotta, you're not gonna even believe this. A guy sues EMT for bringing him back to life. Check out the video. He suing the EMT? Yeah, he brought him back to life. Check out the video. He's suing the EMT? Yeah, he brought him back to life. Check this out.
Starting point is 00:35:29 So this guy is in court trying to sue the EMT, which is like the emergency medical technician. He's trying to sue him for bringing him back to life. After being involved in a hit and run, he said that he has a huge tattoo on his chest that says D-N-R. That means do not resuscitate.
Starting point is 00:35:53 And that he resuscitated him without his consent. Y'all. He said he was perfectly fine crossing over to see Jesus. And he is now left with a $40,000 hospital bill since they brought him back to life.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Come on, y'all see the DNR? Listen, in bold black ink. DNR. So the judge on the case was like, DNR could stand for anything. It's not up to the EMT to decide. Hey,
Starting point is 00:36:26 that's crazy. Oh, Hey, that's crazy. Oh, Joe. That's crazy for the simple fact that a lot of people in our community think like that. Instead of burying their family with those bills. The economy we in, the man rather transition to the afterlife than be here and deal with that $40,000 bill. Let's think about it. If he passed on. That way, that $40,000 bill. Think about it. If he passed on, that $40,000 was going to somebody else then.
Starting point is 00:36:50 No, $40,000. He's like, I ain't got $40,000 to pay. You put me in debt. Okay, maybe they cremated him, which is probably, what, $4,000, $5,000? I don't know how much cremated. I mean, obviously, I haven't had anybody cremated. It's going to be cheaper.
Starting point is 00:37:05 It's cheaper. It's cheaper. Ain't no $40,000 burial. Yeah. Yeah. Unless he King of India somewhere. Yeah. It would have been cheaper to be dead.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Huh? Hey, that's okay. You know, like a lot of people might laugh. Some people might think it's funny, but when you think about it in hindsight, the fact that he rather transition and be dead than
Starting point is 00:37:26 actually be alive, that says a lot. Yeah. That says a lot where we are as a society. Man, think about people that want to go to the doctor. Doctor costs money. A lot of people are not in position to go to the doctor. You know, you have to have, they come to
Starting point is 00:37:42 your house, you got to have an emergency. And you got to use the ambulance. Man, people ain't got money for that. Mm-hmm. That's crazy. So they like, hey, God tried to bring me on home.
Starting point is 00:37:52 I ain't finna put my family in debt. I finna put people in debt. They'd never be able to get off of one of these bills. Some people, $45,000, they'd never be able to pay that. Man,
Starting point is 00:38:01 that's why, listen, as long as I owe you, I'll never be broke that's true that's true I think we gotta vote
Starting point is 00:38:11 we gotta vote I think that's the only way things are gonna change I sent I sent the hospital I sent the hospital a bill I sent them a note Ocho yeah what's the note gonna say
Starting point is 00:38:22 I'm gonna say look here I'm gonna put this $40,000 on a running account. If I don't run up and pay y'all ass, don't y'all run up and ask me for it no more. It's too bad. Hey, I mean, I grew up
Starting point is 00:38:35 in a situation, Ocho. I mean, we have no money, Ocho. We couldn't go to no doctor. I'm talking about, it really had to be life or death. Right. Like, I mean,
Starting point is 00:38:50 a cut, you know, I remember, man, Ocho, what is this? You see that scar? Can y'all see that scar
Starting point is 00:39:03 put on my chin? I had a mole about the size of my pinky, Ocho. Right. My aunt got some, told me to go. I got, we had a Shetland pony.
Starting point is 00:39:14 And she said, go to the, go to the, go to the horse pen and get a couple of his horse hair, his hairs out of his tail and get, bring me the scissors.
Starting point is 00:39:25 My aunt cut it off. What? The mold, yep. That ain't hurt. That ain't hurt. What anesthesia? Cut it off. Man, that thing bled so much.
Starting point is 00:39:41 And then she told me to find some cobwebs. So I had to find some cobwebs. I went and got a handful of spotted web. Went all through the on-house on the back porch. Front porch got spotted webs. And that's what we use for gauze. But God, God, damn.
Starting point is 00:39:57 That's a home remedy. I ain't never heard of that home remedy right there, boy. Man, I'll be bashing that man. She tried it. I let her, hey. They try anything on me. I'm game. I ain't no no better. Hey, I like that. That's a good one. Goddamn, Cobwebs
Starting point is 00:40:14 is gauze? Yeah. Shit. That was you. Hmm. That's a that thing. Is that a scar yeah it got a big ass scar but that thing
Starting point is 00:40:30 that mold about that big Ocho about as big as my pinky the tip of my pinky yeah you had to get that thing up out of there yeah
Starting point is 00:40:37 I told her she like you want me to cut it off I said yeah I went and got some got some horse hair yeah she got them scissors what was that you want me to cut it off? I said, yeah. I went and got some horse hair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:47 She got them scissors. What was the horse hair for? The horse hair was the final thing that she pulled in, got it off. Oh, okay. But she started it with the scissors. Man, that thing bled so much, Cho-Cho. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:40:59 Man, I thought I was going to bleed to death. Did you get dizzy? Nah. Man, I think, you know, when you young, man, you don't. Man, somebody did that now, I pass out. But you know, when you young, Ocho, you don't really be thinking about nothing. Right, right, right. Like when my brother cut me on my leg, I got this.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Can you see the scar? My brother cut me. Man, that face sliced open. I probably should have had about 10 stitches. Wait, you had a deep gas and didn't get no stitches? No, hell no. Play for what? Because I had to tell my granddaddy what happened.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Why I needed stitches. My brother wanted to see who had the sharpest knife, so he cut me. Man, my granddaddy would so he cut me. Man, my granddad would have killed my brother. Man, please. Hey, well, y'all was wild.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Oh, yeah. Man, the only time I can remember going to my sister's, this was before I was born, my sister and my aunt was running through the house. And my sister was my aunt was running through the house. And my sister probably was probably about three or four. And she was chasing my aunt
Starting point is 00:42:12 and she was running behind her. And my aunt slammed the door and took my sister these three fingers. That was the only time. That's the only time that I can remember other than having a baby that somebody went to the hospital. I don't remember nobody going
Starting point is 00:42:31 to the hospital when I was alive. My sister had my nephew. Obviously, she went to the hospital, but hell, ain't nobody know. She's talking about a stomach hurt. What the hell your stomach hurt for? Had a baby. So,
Starting point is 00:42:49 so that, that's what happened. Man, that's crazy. How many orders, where we at? Oh, Joe, we got 17 orders. People must want you to get that thing,
Starting point is 00:43:01 that mug. So we need three more? Three more orders? You need three more? Three more? Three more? You need three more? Three more? Three more order. Well, technically, my baby sent us $200. That's included.
Starting point is 00:43:12 We included that. For real? Yeah. And you had to pay for the hoodie that you took. I ain't take no hoodie you gave me. Yeah, you did. No, I ain't no gave you. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 00:43:26 I'm a part of Nightcap. You mean I can't get a hoodie without having to. No, I ain't no gave you. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm a part of nightcap. You mean I can't get a hoodie without having to pay for it? No, hell no. You charging me too? Yes. For God's sake. I sent my brother the link. I sent his ass the link.
Starting point is 00:43:43 My homeboy Bucket, he got the link. Burns, he got to Link. All right. Well, you know what? My kids asking for nightcare stuff, I'm finna send their ass to Link, too. Hell yeah. Yeah, okay. Ain't nobody getting nothing. Ain't nobody getting nothing free.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Hell nah. Hey, but that's funny. He did it. That's funny. My brother just placed the order. He did? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:06 And that means Sterling watching, huh? Oh, for sure. He watch all the time. Hey, Sterling, what's up, what? I'll let you play, man. Yeah, I appreciate that, Spag. That's what I'm talking about, bro. Hey, come down to Miami. Man, he was one of the first ones, Ocho. He was one of the first ones. I mean, he probably done purchased
Starting point is 00:44:21 20 bottles of La Portilla. For real? Yeah. I like it. Hey, certainly come down to Miami, man. Let's go to Tussie's. Nah, hell nah. You got a golf tournament? He'll be there. I don't like no golf, man. I don't do no golf.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Oh, okay. Somebody in the chat told me I stole a hoodie. Yeah, he did He did You did I I ain't You notice

I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on Good Company, the podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next. In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, Ojo, it's time for our last segment of the night, and it's called Q&A. Upgrade King, guy at Nightcap and Club Shae Shae Hood,

Starting point is 00:46:59 hey, they might have been our first three in the chat, but we know one thing. They're going to ask a question, and we really, really appreciate the support. I think Lainey, somebody said Lainey and Vega's drunk. So, Lainey Ray and Vega's drunk. But hopefully next week when she gets back and she's sober up, what does your T-shirt say?
Starting point is 00:47:27 It says sorry I'm late. I didn't want to come. Tony Boyd, hey Ocho, do you have best man already in mind for your wedding? And Unc, if it was you, where would you take Ocho for his bachelor
Starting point is 00:47:45 party? LOL. Hey, speaking of bachelor party Huh? Real gold asleep. Hey, speaking of bachelor party right? Yeah. I don't know what I want to do. I don't know what I want to do.

Starting point is 00:48:15 We all know I like coffee. So anything like that, I'm all for it. I'm all for it. So what do you think? What can I do? I mean, we can do all, what you think? What can I do? I mean, we can do all the stuff
Starting point is 00:48:29 you want to do with cigars. Okay, okay, okay. Get our Bill Clinton on. I mean, I just kidding. I just kidding. Just kidding. Just kidding.
Starting point is 00:48:39 What's Bill Clinton? Don't worry about it. Hey, I don't want... Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me. I mean, I'm sure the chat gonna tell you in a few minutes. Hey, chat, what's Bill Clinton? I don't understand that phrase. I don't know if I was here.
Starting point is 00:48:55 We can go to Topgolf. Nah, man, I ain't trying to golf, man. I ain't trying to do no golf, man. What you trying to do then? What you trying to do? You trying to do something for two something? It's a bachelor party. What do people do at bachelor parties?
Starting point is 00:49:10 You can't do that. Oh. Oh, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad. Yeah. You know what? I remember the story I told you when I was a little younger, you know, in the college?
Starting point is 00:49:21 Yeah. For bachelorette parties. Yeah. I used to be a dancing bear. You know about the dancing bear parties? Mm-hmm. Yeah, I the college. Yeah. For bachelorette parties. Starting point is 00:49:43 Oh, no. It won't be like that. Oh, no. Oh, no. It won't be like that. I'm telling you what I used to do at Bachelorette parties. So I know I'm not saying you like that. I'm not saying that's your character, but just in case. Whatever you ain't got, you won't be getting. Yeah, I promise you that. No, no.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Hey, man. That's the red part. That's the part. I'm excited. I'm excited too. Hey, remember the episode? What if me and Reb getting ready to get married, right? We in the Bahamas.

Starting point is 00:51:36 Yeah. Yeah. But I wouldn't, I wouldn't doubt happen. I wouldn't doubt like, really like if somebody, if there are a documented case. You think that happens at weddings?
Starting point is 00:51:46 I'm probably sure it has. I ain't never seen that. I thought that only happened in the movies. I'm sure it has. That's messed up. Of all times, wait, you could express your displeasure long before the goddamn wedding.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Long as long as it ain't a family member. As long as it's not your mom or dad saying, I object. Somebody else coming out the woodworks and saying it's a bull job. Yeah, that's messed up. But mom and dad say that, you be like, oh, okay. I ask my son,
Starting point is 00:52:21 what if I said I object? You be upset with me? Because my daddy don't do that. I already told my daughter, so you already know. I'm going to be standing right there because I got to walk you down the aisle. I'm going to walk her down the aisle. We're going to get to that spot,

Listen, I'm Tua, and she the Dolphins organization. Yep. Yeah, all right. We can play that. Listen, I'm trying to protect myself. Sherelle has afforded me a lifestyle that I've never had before.
Starting point is 00:53:54 You know, I'm a stay-at-home father. I get an allowance a month. You know, at the beginning of the month, I get a little stipend. I get a little food stipend. Like, this is new for me, and I'm enjoying theend. I get a little food stipend. This is new for me and I'm enjoying the lifestyle that she's provided for me. I'm not trying to lose
Starting point is 00:54:12 that. I'm not signing no prenup. If she want to leave, I'm taking half of what she got. That's it. Period. I don't care what people in the chat say. I don't care what dudes got to say. Women do it to us all the time. Now I'm in a position where I can take advantage of the situation
Starting point is 00:54:25 and that's what the fuck I'm going to do. Shit. Marshawn Hunter said, congratulations again on all the awards. No joke. But on behalf of Lanny Ray,
Starting point is 00:54:37 what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. LOL. Okay, okay, okay. Well, considering we haven't heard from her in a couple of days, oh, okay, okay. Well, considering we haven't heard from her in a couple of days, oh, she tore up.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Ain't no way, ain't no way. This is the longest she's ever gone without asking a question. So, I'm assuming that she in Vegas. She having a ball, huh? Yeah, she blitzed. Melissa A. said, hey, Uncle No Nocho would you date

Starting point is 00:55:21 yeah you could be the Raiders owner's daughter ain't got nothing to do with that. Yeah, you could be the owner's daughter. You ain't got nothing to do with me. Yeah. Hey, that's our rival. You and I ain't rivals. That ain't got nothing to do with me. Please.
Starting point is 00:55:39 Because I know in high school, you know, they're better. Where you from, okay? I hate them. I don't hate you. You know, if you're dating someone, I've seen a lot of couples, people that are married,
Starting point is 00:55:56 a Bengals wife, married to a Steelers husband. I think it makes for football season or makes it fun for a sporting event, especially when the two opposing teams play. I think that's dope. Nah, you ain't coming to my house. Hey, when you come to my, look,
Starting point is 00:56:12 hey, who you for? If you rooting for the other team, you ain't coming here to watch the game with me. Fighter, we got, hey, because nah, because I don't want you jumping up around, being in my face, because I don't want you jumping up around being in my face because I'm a sore loser I'm a really sore loser in my own
Starting point is 00:56:28 right so I'm going to put your ass out you going to hit it with that Martin you know what get out Martin was throwing their ass out every episode yep you ain't finna be yelling and screaming till I go yeah y, y'all. Nah, nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:56:46 I already know me. So just stay. Just go ahead and stay at your place. Just watch it at your house. You want to celebrate because I want you to be able to jump up and down and yell and scream and do all that. And go leave the refrigerator open and go drink whatever you want and eat all the nachos and the quesos and the wings that you want,
Starting point is 00:57:06 but you're not going to eat up all that stuff at my house and then root against my team, that ain't going to happen. So you better root up under your breath. Yeah. Hey, you better play it off as hard, Bird. Know what? They're not going to want to watch it at your house
Starting point is 00:57:26 because you don't listen with the sound on anyway. I sure don't. I sure don't. That's another reason. Can I hear the sound? Go downstairs. The sound in the bedroom TV don't work. They're going to be screaming from downstairs.
Starting point is 00:57:42 Yes. Nope. Sure don't. Don't watch anything with sound on. It's done got so bad. I don't really watch. The only thing I probably watch with sound is probably track and field. That's the only thing that I watch with sound.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Everything else. It's done got so bad. I can't remember the last time I watched a program that wasn't sports with sound. Right. They're like, how you know what's going on? I'm like, I'm just watching. Right. Somebody kills somebody, how you know what's going on? I'm like, I'm just watching. Right. Somebody kills somebody
Starting point is 00:58:08 and they go go to jail. I don't watch all the forensic files. I don't watch all the old first 48. So I know what's going to happen. Yeah. So that's what we are on that. Teddy Hart
Starting point is 00:58:23 says, Shannon Shannon there have been number one seed that have lost in round one I'm not saying OKC is the best number one seed definitely not the worst you know what Teddy y'all acquitted yourself well because all those games you could have won those games were nip and tuck
Starting point is 00:58:39 and it was a great great series you guys got a lot of promise y'all got a very young and promising team. If you guys can just continue to get better, guys continue to improve and don't rest, you guys are going to be to deal with. I was very, very
Starting point is 00:58:54 surprised given your age, how well you played. You guys were deserving of the number one seed. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for you, but you're right, Teddy. You guys are definitely not the worst seed. Troy Swearingen. Swearingen?
Starting point is 00:59:17 Swearingen? Swearingen. Hey, Okonocu, my girl had our baby yesterday at 11.19 p.m. Five pounds, eight ounces. He was a preemie, but he's very healthy and well. Congratulations. Congratulations, bro. Hey, hopefully mama is okay also.
Starting point is 00:59:37 You say he was a little premature, but he's healthy and well. So hopefully the same goes for your girl. And hopefully both of them will be coming home real soon. Congratulations, bro. Congratulations. Proud. Congrats. Congrats. Congrats. And listen, I'm not sure if this is your first child, Troy, but if it is,
Starting point is 00:59:55 again, congratulations. Odd numbers are not good. So it'd behoove you to get back in there at your earliest convenience. And if you're going to have more than one, just get it out the way now. Call me if you want any ideas
Starting point is 01:00:12 or you need a babysitter or anything of that sort. Obviously, I have 11. And again, odd numbers are bad luck. So you know what I'm working on over here on this end. Starting point is 01:00:35 I already know that. She ain't going to be pregnant under that picture forever. Yeah. Oh, no. Real ain't going to let that happen. She ain't got no choice. I mean, not under this roof.
