Starting point is 00:00:01 Hey, everybody, I'm Tarika Foster Brasby. What's up, y'all? I'm your girl, Cheryl Swoops. When you tune in to a new episode of our podcast levels to this, you're definitely going to get some spicy WMBA analysis. But we're more than just hoops. And the real conversation is what we actually breathe. It's been really, really cool seeing kind of these women
Starting point is 00:00:24 just really step into their power off the court and understand that they aren't basketball, right? and they're not asking for commission? Listen to levels to this with Stroh's Foods and Tarika Foster Brasby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Munges Chitigler, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, curmudgins, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever
Starting point is 00:00:58 and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever,
Starting point is 00:01:10 on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. 150 years ago, they were hunting us down to kill us, and now they're hunting down immigrants to deport them. This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this presently. moment.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Listen to First America on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. For years, the unhoused have been presented as a monolith in mainstream media. Weed-en-Haus is a podcast that's changing the narrative. I'm Theo Henderson, and I created the show why I was unhoused on the streets of Los Angeles. We've grown into a two-time Webby Award-winning podcast. the only podcast that shares unhoused stories and news from the unhoused perspective. Listen to Wey and House on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Can superstars even exist the way they used to? 2016 was sort of that last era of monoculture, where we still consume things in community. Everybody wanted to be Beyonce at that point. I don't think we'll ever see another beyond. What does it mean to be black and eat in America? You will never make me feel bad for being a black girl, for being a black American girl ever. From music to food to the conversations shaping black culture right now, therapy for black girls is bringing it all to the mic.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Listen to therapy for black girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Cardinals, personnel executive Ryan Gold, is appealing his indefinite suspension for violating the NFL gambling policy. NFL said this investigation termed that Gold provided confidential, non-public inside information regarding the 2026 draft selection by the Cardinals before the picks were announced, and that Goal also participated in parlay bets on NFL in college games. Gold attorney claims the gambling activity was Gold's wife,
Starting point is 00:03:20 making $10 weekly bets with a group of high school friends on a parlay, and that Goal was not involved. Wow! He put that on the wife? He put that on wide feet Hey y'all And he already know better man You already know better
Starting point is 00:03:38 You have enough players That have gotten in trouble That's gambling Players Just last year at that And here you go Thinking you're exempt from the rules Knowing that they follow on you two
Starting point is 00:03:50 Based on emails Based on phone numbers They know everything that's going on man Coaches, players They know everything I don't know why you even try it Joe, Ocho, I'm an NFL. If I'm in the MLB, I'm in the NBA,
Starting point is 00:04:07 if I'm in a professional league, my wife, my, ain't nobody. Because guess what happens? It's coming back to who? You? Every time. Why would you, why would your wife even put you in that situation?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Why would your wife, knowing who you are and what, that's the NFL. And y'all, please, please spare us. with this, oh, but you want a gambling. I'm not an NFL player. Ocho is not an NFL player. Joe is not, we're a former.
Starting point is 00:04:43 So if we wanted to bet, we could. As an executive of a professional team, I don't know why your wife would even do that. Yeah. I wouldn't even help my sister. I would even help my homeboys in the pit because I was a current player. You know you can't do that.
Starting point is 00:05:05 And then the wife. I'm not saying women don't gamble. But the most, a weekly parlay, bro, good luck getting out of that. Good luck. Because guess what? Because they're saying what it's saying provided confidential, non-public inside information
Starting point is 00:05:25 regarding 2026 draft selection by the Cardinals before the peaks were announced. Now who's the only person that would know that? Somebody got, got, got, got, got snapped, got pinched. Where did you get that information from? You do realize, when was the last time you seen somebody hold up a perk? Now, when the last time you heard of somebody hold up a Marlin, a tuna, or a shark?
Starting point is 00:06:06 Bro, you're an NFL. You know what the NFL tried to do as far as cleaning up gambling. Hey, Peter Paul. I hope. I hope. I hope this man ain't put his career on the line or his wife put this man in harm's way for $10 weekly parlates. I hope the reports are this is an alleged, but I hope I pray this man did not, his man's wife did not put this man's career in harm's way for $10. $10.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Hmm. Joe, Ocho, I hope that's not the case. I wonder what that payout look like. You wonder what they pay? Unless you got a 15, 20 pick parlay, it's $10. They're paying not nothing.
Starting point is 00:06:58 How many picks you make it? Now, you see somebody can take a $20 and they might have a 50 pick parlay. You hit them all, you win a million five. Yeah. But you got to pick, okay, the Dodgers are going to win the World Series. The Cincinnati Bengals going to win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Miami Heat going to win the NBA championship. You got to pick all that. This team's going to this guy's going to win the MVP. This team's going to win the hockey. You got it. I just. Hey, he didn't got suspended indefinitely now. I'm not sure what the appeal can do.
Starting point is 00:07:48 All the appeal does. it makes it even worse because you're appealing it to not he really going to do some digging who are you peeling it to the nfam just imagine i get a speeding ticket but i'm gonna go appeal it to the chief of police it was his damn department they gave me the damn ticket yeah that's a good that's a good one why about wasting my time taking my black ass that's why you have independent that's why you have somebody to issue the ticket or charge it with a crime And then somebody else did hear them when you go to court. I show, I chat, I pray.
Starting point is 00:08:31 And I hope this man's wife didn't potentially put this man in harm's way playing a weekly parlay. I hope that in the case. Like I said, I mean, my homeboy used to ask me all the time. Man, Sharp, you know. I do. No. Because you win a couple of times.
Starting point is 00:09:00 You know what's going to. happen you're going to start bragging you're going to start bragging I know you and I grew up with you man I know exactly what you do call me hey I'm good I'm good one of my partners hit me I were playing in TBT that's that uh two million dollar tournament yeah he called me the morning of the game he said uh he said hey hey hey Joe uh they got you picked to uh be under 16 what you think I hung up in his damn face. Man, I can't focus on the damn game.
Starting point is 00:09:39 You don't call me with this shit. Come on, man. Come on, man. Yeah. I hung up on it. I hung up on him, Ojo. Oh, man, don't call me with that, bro. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:09:50 He's trying to see how much money he needs to bet. Man, get out of my phone. Hey, that's funny. I can't do it. Because of your, Ocho, you already know. Your home. Chad. Chad Ochosinko Johnson
Starting point is 00:10:04 scooped up in a gambling ring. Not me. No, sir. They don't call me, ask me nothing. I don't know. No. I want no part of that.
Starting point is 00:10:20 But I hope it works out for you, bro. I really do. Nightcap Big Three is happy to be partnered with the Big Three and we'll keep you up with the league all season long. We'll be the number one destination for all game recaps
Starting point is 00:10:32 and analysis all summer long. Miami 305 beat the Dallas power 5144. Huge upset Michael Beasley took over, dropping 27 and 10. Three triples to carry Miami past Dallas. Land Stevenson backing up with 16. Dallas drops to 4 and 1.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Joe, I mean, look, this thing is like really Taylor. It's really hard to keep. Heat Beasley under 20. Yeah. Because he can shoot the three. He can put the ball on the floor.
Starting point is 00:11:10 He got a midgame. He can post you. And he's six, nine. Yes. And he lefty. Yeah, and he'll lefty. He can play. I mean, I ain't never took that away from.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I think we all know the boy got plenty of game. You know what I mean? When he locked in, it's hard to stop him, bro. I ain't going to lie to you. And plus Dallas Power, you know, they're a collective unit. Ocho. really going to have no one guy going to go for no 27 30 points they're going to beat you collectively with a great unit and you know knowing that they were undefeated i'm sure 305 knew they
Starting point is 00:11:44 had to come here and get this win because without this dub you know it would probably put their season yeah it probably they wouldn't have made it to the postseason so i'm happy for 305 man getting in their wins column getting them get another dub and uh you know kind of selling power down a little bit but power's still going to be good bro yeah Lance backed them up with 16, but like you said, they scored 43 of the 51, but that's what you expect.
Starting point is 00:12:11 They got two big name guys, guys that played had, Lance, I mean, at one point in time, I thought Lance could have been an all-star. He had one season where he really could have been an all-star.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, he had some shenanigans that people like, come on, bro, you better than that. Yeah, yeah. But he was entertaining. He was absolutely entertaining.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And Michael Bees, look, we know what Bees, Bees could have been he just needed a mentor. He needed guidance. Yeah, yeah. That's what he needed.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Yeah. But he had some, some issues that, that needed to be dealt with. Yeah. That he needed to get the right people to ride him on Joe, uh,
Starting point is 00:12:49 and Joe and kind of lead him in the right direction. And you never got that. Yeah. He never got that. And you look at him and you just like, damn, what could have been? What should have been?
Starting point is 00:13:04 Yeah, they got a, hey, they still got a chance to get hot. I think with Lance and B's, that two-headed monster, you know, when they clicking on our cylinders, is they going to be a hard team to beat. Plus, you got them hardworking guys like Sean Williams who do all the dirty work. I think he was defensive player the year last season. So they got a pretty good team, bro. They just got to put it together.
Starting point is 00:13:28 The Chicago triplets beat the L.A. riot 50 to 31. History was made in Chicago. Montreal Harrell poured in 42 points on 16 to 26 shooting. The most points ever scored in a big three game, breaking the record of 37 set by Isaiah Brisco back in 2024. He added 11 rebounds, dominated the pain from the opening till. Dwight Howard missed his second straight game with a groin injury. Joe.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Atreve, he balling, boy. Trez was putting stuff up. Tres just was throwing a couple of corner threes up. He just threw it up and it went in. That's what you like, yeah, it's, I'm on one tonight. It's going to be a good day. You know it's going to be a good day to day. He got off to a pretty good star, Uncle Ocho.
Starting point is 00:14:13 But I think this is just his second game. He played this season, bro. He hadn't been really playing. I think he had like 32 or something. He had 34 in the other game. 34. 34 in the first game. Then he'd come back with 42.
Starting point is 00:14:26 He set the record. But he said he played in another tournament the night before. TBT. He played in that. the day before they lost. And he said he didn't play up to his capabilities, so he said he had a lot left in the tank. He said, that's what he told the guys
Starting point is 00:14:41 before the game today. He said, man, I told him I had a lot left in the tank and I was going to go yard. And I, boy, look, the boy went off. The boy, I was watching the game. The boy went off. That man's going 42 or they 50 points, Joe. They only go on to 50, Ocho. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:58 That's crazy. That's crazy. But listen, with the L.A. without the white how well they had nobody I mean nobody who could stop do bro he would give he was doing what he wanted he was doing what he wanted and he got to all this spot making shots like I'm saying hell he threw up with three one time I he surprised his damn self and went I'm like damn yeah oh so my trails harrow scores the most points in a a big three game poured in 42 points breaking
Starting point is 00:15:34 the previous record of 37 by Isaiah Briscoe just said just in 2024. 16 or 26 shooting, 11 rebounds. So it just wasn't one-sided. The ball hogs beat DMV trilogy, 5127, a wide-to-wire beat down. Jeremy Pargo led the way with 21 and knocked down a four, while Deshaun Stevenson musseled up 17 points, 10 rebounds for a double-double. the ball hogs getting it going uh i think dm v didn't they lose back-to-back game show i think so you know ball hogs coached by garry payton so yeah he's gonna keep him some dogs over there you know what i mean
Starting point is 00:16:12 bad gp oh yeah yeah yeah you can't help it because he exuded so much archa ocho me like talking to him before the game like he just gave that energy that you need to go out there and compete and then when you look at germy pargo i think he'll the last three games he probably average about 24 23 points a game and that's what they're going to need for them to be able to succeed and make it to the postseason you know i talked to germany pretty often me and german park will probably talk at least two three times a week and i was just telling them bro look you got to stay aggressive you you have to go out there and put your imprint on the game and the past three three four weeks uncle he's been doing that i don't really know what's going on with
Starting point is 00:16:53 trilogy uh but it seemed like they got off to a great start this season but But, you know, as the last few games, they've been struggling. So, yeah, yeah, they have. They have. Yeah. Do what it, no, Cho? I said, them boy, got to find a way to stay hot now. Yeah, hey, hey, hey.
Starting point is 00:17:12 And I know Stephen Jackson don't like that. The Houston rig hands beat the Detroit AMP, 51, 44. Isaiah Austin, anchor to big rigs. Oh, the rig hands, that is. 19 points, 13 rebounds. Jonathan Simmons added 18 points on 21. one shot to push Houston to a win. Detroit falls to O and four is officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Damn. God, dang, Joe. They got us out of there? Yeah, out of there. O and four, Joe, you officially eliminated. Hey, Detroit, I'm sorry, man. I apologize to the city of Detroit. I wish I could have, you know, help in some form of fashion.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I wish I could have been playing. But unfortunately, God had other plans for me, you know, just go around. So we'll see what happens next year, but it's unfortunate. Okay, Ocho. Very. Yeah. We'll hear your ass up and get back out there next year. You're making it a look bad.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Yeah. When I see me on that court, too, aren't? What? Well, you got, I mean, you're going to take it. You already say you got something for Joe one-on-one. I saw y'all doing a little something back there in the green room yesterday. I was trying to show him how it would do. And I was trying to show his little last,
Starting point is 00:18:28 He ain't have a chair. Hey, he's doing all these moves, and I'm right there in front of him. Nothing he's doing working. Hey, chat. I hadn't even took a dribble yet. That's what did he fail to realize. I would just use the jab series on your ass. I wouldn't even give you the ha-ha.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I wouldn't give you all that. I would just give you the face-up. The he-him. Hey, just me understand. The jab, I ain't moving. The he-heen, I ain't moving. I ain't budging. Unless you move, you got to give me something.
Starting point is 00:18:58 I got patience, Joe. That's the one thing. That's what's going to frustrate you. Not only do I have patience, you're going to try to use your shoulder and body me. And once I anchor down, I'm going to absorb that, and I'm going to still be right there. I'm going to close the space because I know you're a shooter. They call you ISO for a reason, right? So what do you do with a player that's very good in the ISO ball?
Starting point is 00:19:22 You close the space. You don't get much room to maneuver. I don't like to work with. You try to suffocate me? Just a little bit, Joe. Now I'm going to get you a little reading room because I don't want no five and I can't hand check. I don't want a hand check.
Starting point is 00:19:35 I didn't put the airboy in your back. You got, I got to use these puppies, boy. You got to move them feet. One thing by these puppy, but I can shuffle them. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, we're going to see. I never put the ball on the floor a few times that we kind of got into it.
Starting point is 00:19:49 I was just jabbing you just getting some space so I can get that Jimmy on. You feel you what you want to see what he was going to do. You're going to see how he was going to react. I'm just trying to see what kind of tendencies he got. You know what I'm saying? I see what you're saying. And when I assessed him, when I assessed him, I said, oh man, come on.
Starting point is 00:20:07 This is like taking candy from a damn baby. All right, I really feel bad if you just want me to keep it one on it. If that's the system you got, where it's gonna be a long day for you on that court, boy. Okay, okay. I'll tell you that. Okay. Well, he read it wrong.
Starting point is 00:20:22 If he got that kind of assessment on Joe, he read it wrong, huh? He knew what on my eyes. That's what he got. Yeah, okay. Okay. That's all. Week 6th is in Detroit, Thursday, July 23rd,
Starting point is 00:20:43 and Houston on Sunday, July 26th. Tune in the nightcap all season long for our Big Three game recaps from the Big Three. Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Oncore. Check out our brand new episodes featuring music,

I'll tell you the stories of Fice, My Moon, My Man, Wolf forades, I'll believe in anything, and tattoos, all the things she said, and how they all became a part of this global phenomenon. Stream encore on IHeart Radio, Crave, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Munga Shat Together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us. I learned about some rad science.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here are some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. To make it look more defined. They say it works.
Starting point is 00:22:13 I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Declaration, which is full of these beautifully rendered, you know, sentences and paragraphs about enlightenment ideals does also have this darker history to it. Why is it important for the darker part of the Declaration of Independence
Starting point is 00:22:41 and the American Revolution? Why is it important that Americans know about it? Well, if we don't understand the full context in which our nation was founded, we won't understand the full context in which our nation now finds itself. I'm Rebecca Nagel. PINDAWATON, Julyette, L'IACAELAN, citizen of Cherokee Nation.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Are you guys big Chiefs fans? Hell yeah. This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this present moment. Listen to First America on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We've all been there. We've had seasons that have shaken everything.
Starting point is 00:23:29 The question is, What remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenzheno. And on my podcast, Unshaken with Gary Vee, I sit down with amazing personalities and we talk about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their highs. He would just shout one line and it would murder.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Marie Lunch! Bill Burr. Let's talk about the best moments that we had on the road. I would love a cocktail. Do Joe could get last row middle seat on a Southwest Airlines flight? Joe, how was your flight? It was great. The guy on Penn State moving on the field.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Oh. And the player thought Joe is his former coach. And he hugged him. And he hugged him. And Joe just went with it. And the guy goes, what are you doing here? Coach? And Joe just goes,
Starting point is 00:24:36 And you walk in and it is bananas. I mean, it's a feast for the eyes. And I was like, it's not my thing either. But we're here. When in Rome? Top athletes, chefs, musicians, everybody. Listen to Paul's best podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:58 All right. It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q. Hey. Hey, hey. Uh, Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy, hey, fam. Great jobs at Fanatics fans.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Love seeing Nightcap getting that kind of exposure. It was great. You know, as always, it's very nice to be respected and appreciated. And it was great going out there and seeing all the people look. We're in the airport. Everybody knows who Nightcap is, what we represent. And so we want to thank everybody, uh, Ruben. Michael Rubin for inviting us,

This was our first time, but hopefully it will not be our last time. Hello. These names been eating me up.
Starting point is 00:25:52 These names be eating up up. Bless his heart. Bro, I don't know these people named. What you say his name? Risha. Rishishet. Yeah. It's all right.
Starting point is 00:26:03 If you know who I was talking about, about I knew Argentina was in trouble with that black crowd black crowd cloud Drake placed the bed on with good note I went I went to chairman and curving today and it never disappointed hey I told you once we found out oh Joe who he bet on we should have bet on Spain hey we should have put a little 50 little 50 spot of piece yeah little 50 spot of piece yeah Got that little cash back. Yep.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Because whoever he, I don't know what it is, but he ain't been doing good lately. He had a rough batch. Hey, hey, that's a tough bet, I don't know if I, I'm saying if I had it to spend it like that, I don't know if I'd have spent that on Argentina.
Starting point is 00:26:51 No. The problem of, Joe, is that there was such a dog. So you bet, the reports are he bet it 1.5. So if he wins, he gets, It's 4.5 plus his one five back.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Right. Damn. Sprain was an overwhelming favorite. They looked like it too, yeah. You win some, you lose some. Will you do an emergency nightcap when your boy make his announcement? Absolutely will not.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Asher killed me. Everybody's got their vacation. Everybody, hey, man, we don't set it up because we dark all next week. Everybody got their thing in play. They just hit the button. and it spits it out. Nope, we got no announcement for y'all.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Hey, don't call me. I'm turning my phone off. As a matter of fact, I've been to block Ash. Yeah, y'all hit me, man. I'll get y'all a little run down. Well, you take it over, but I don't know who you're going to produce the show. But I'm telling, I'm blocking Ash and CJ. I'm going live, damn it.
Starting point is 00:28:04 I'm going live. Like, Auntwood. Hey, like, Unkwood live. No, okay. There you go. See what I said, Joe. See what I said, Joe? See what I said that Joe?
Starting point is 00:28:12 You guys slip that in. That went in there. We just, we don't spend all weekend. We laugh and tugging to have a good time, yeah, man. Appreciate that. You don't brag on and show them, you don't. My bad, my bad. Now, he's talking about you don't wit line like,
Starting point is 00:28:27 oh, wet line. Uh, I-huh. I also did say if we lose the game, we damn sure ain't losing no fight. Argentina was quick to throw those hands. You see that? They leave it with something. They're doing to win at something.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Yeah, yeah. I'm leaving with something. Yeah, yeah. Hey, them boys, Phil's got down that soccer field, man. Hey, ain't nothing worse. It's time winding down, and you know we're not going to win the game. It's just every little thing they do, man, tuck your damn shirt in. Everything annoy you about.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Yeah. Everything adore you about somebody. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't consider it a pity, a pity pat party for any delay regarding this show. I appreciate the effort that the whole nightcap crew does, especially if any hurdles come along the way. Thank y'all. I ain't going to lie. If we weren't going over, if we weren't dark, the whole next week, Ocho? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Gone. Oh, we're the peace about tonight. Yeah, for sure. Yeah.
