Starting point is 00:02:00 I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith. I'm Max Chaffkin. We are both journalists at Bloomberg Business Week. And our podcast, Everybody's Business, finds the meaning behind the numbers. Things like, why is ice cream so expensive right now? Is Polly Market the new stock market? And Max, will we ever retire? Because decoding the money, power, and influence the moves the world is everybody's business.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Listen to everybody's business on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Things got heated last night between Luca Donchich and Yaxil Lindenborough Board. As the Lakers dominated the Warriors 127-105, Yaxil said he lost respect for Luca last night. I got to see what the NBA was like, man. A lot of flopping, a lot of foul-bating, a lot of praying to the ref. Interesting. First game for me, being there firsthand just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect.
Starting point is 00:02:56 That was awful. Dremont defended his young rook. Let's take a listen to what Draymond had to say. You know, everybody's going to be like, oh, man, he shouldn't talk to Luca. You should not talk to Luke, and I disagree with that shit. 1,000 percent. You fucking going to talk to somebody. You talk until you can't fucking talk no more.
Starting point is 00:03:16 And if you bust your ass, guess what? You play them again three more times and you go back at his ass again. And then you see him the third time and you go back at his ass again. I think in this league everybody always be like, oh, man, certain guys you got to respect. I ain't come in this league. like that I respect. You are respect. Joe, what you thinking?
Starting point is 00:03:38 You definitely got to earn respect, but you come in competing at the highest, though, Arkin Ocho. Yeah. You know what I mean? I'm with Lindenberg, the guy out of Michigan. I don't like the fact that Luca complains to the damn refs. He whined and crying. That's the one part of his game I don't like. He does, man. But the boy, the boy can play. He got game. You know what I mean? You can, you can disrespect him. I like Drake.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Draymond can't wait for somebody to go at somebody on his team. Because look, he's going to, hey, he going to put that battery in your back. Okay, Ocho, he got you. He ain't trying to hear it. So he's right up his alley. He's like, hell no, go at him. So I respect that part and you're right. You're supposed to go at these guys, these childhood stars who you watch growing up.
Starting point is 00:04:21 You know what I mean? When you get that opportunity, the best thing you can do is go out there and compete hard, play hard, do whatever you can and try and get a win. But it's a great learning experience for a young man, bro. You know what I mean? I mean, Luca had it going on them. You know what I mean? But he did.
Starting point is 00:04:35 He competed, but, hey, man, the Lakers showed us a little something last night. They showed us something. Hey, hey, uh, and Joe, they showed us a little something. You got to remember they're playing the Golden State Warriors. They really. It's over the Warriors. Yeah, exactly. It's over.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I'm glad Steph got his money, Ocho and Joe, but it's over. Yeah. They're not competing. They're not competing with nothing. It ain't even that. It's hard for them to compete. Huh. You got Jimmy Bullitt sitting over there making, what, 50, 60 million.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Here, he ain't going to play. You know, Moses Moody hurt. He ain't playing. So you got a lot of guys. Pazinsky. Yeah, Pazinsky. So you got a lot of your top guys who probably be in a starting lineup, at least three. All three of them probably being your starting lineup, and they can't even play.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Now you leave all this scoring. Steph can't talk no damn team by itself no more. Uncle Ocho? Nah. He can't do that no more, bro. But let me ask you a question. They get them guys back. Do you think they'll serious?
Starting point is 00:05:31 contender no no not in that western conference the west is it's too stacked too deep and it's top heavy with with with uh okay c and the spurs i think the warriors run bro i mean it was fun why i think it's over yeah i think it's done too man i ain't gonna lie to you but as a fan you still love to see those guys go out and compete but they just don't have enough firepower to be competing in the western conference bro yeah i mean i love watching still because i mean i'm like hey Even if y'all losing, Steph hit me about five or six three, that I'm happy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:07 I don't care, I don't care nothing about, you know, them winning no championship. Right. But, no. They got too many main pieces missing, you know, and in the West, hell, and the NBA in general,
Starting point is 00:06:21 it's just hard to win, bro, when you're missing top guys, you know what I mean? Yeah, it's, but I like Drabo, Drabe by like, nah, hey, man, leave me alone. Because that's what they said about George. That's what you said about court.
Starting point is 00:06:34 You don't want to piss them off. So what I'm supposed to do? Like, oh, he ain't said nothing to me. Let me take it easy on him. They go on my neck anyway. Yeah. Right, right, right. I like it.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I like the young bucks talking trash. You know, don't back down to nobody. Respect his earned, obviously. Yeah. Admire Luca for who he is and what he's done. But as a rook coming in, listen, he did, he did give him, hey, Luca gave him that work, though. Luke he gave him that work.
Starting point is 00:07:00 But no, don't back down. Don't back down. Right. He came, man, you, first of all, you know Luca had it going. I mean, he hit and stepped back 27 footers. Then, the close to half, he hit one from half court. Got a logo. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:07:15 And he's talking trash to him, too? Exactly. And he pointed out, come on, get, get back here here. Yeah, no, no, hey, hey, sub him out, put him back in here. Yeah, you got no, that's a, hey, hey, that's what frustrate the young fella, because he's like, there, he's still talking here. I'm like, yeah. I ain't even in the game.
Starting point is 00:07:35 He said, no, I know you're not, but I want you in the game. I want to give you these buckets. Welcome to the league, yo, fellow. Most of the time, it's the guys on the bitch to be talking the most itch. Shut up, you're on the sidelines. You can't even get in the game. Yeah. Why you're talking?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah, think about it. That's why Ocho doesn't got them boys' ass bust out there in Miami for all that damn talking he were doing over there. You! Hey, Joe. Hey, I'm the original shit talking. Joe, that's what I do though. That's what I do, Joe.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Hey, I'm talking and I walk it. I just didn't have anybody to back up my word. That's all. No, yeah, you did. You were talking to the right person. He answered everything you were talking about. That what happened. Hey, Joe, me and young bull, we cut from the same club.
Starting point is 00:08:18 We just happen to be from a different state, Joe. Oh, okay, okay. We really know different. We ain't no different. Okay, okay. All right. Two different sports. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:27 All right. So. The Hard Rock Bet Casino app is here, Ontario. It's safe, secure, and crystal clear with fast payouts and 24-7 local support. I'm former U.S. Women's National Soccer team player Carly Lloyd. I'm Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And on our new podcast, whatever it takes, we're talking motherhood, marriages, careers, and figuring out how to balance it all. And we'll discuss the game that brought us together because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup?
Starting point is 00:09:23 I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no? I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly love the game. game, I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment. You're proud of what you accomplish together. Listen to whatever it takes with Carly
Starting point is 00:10:01 Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Blockers. In Washington, it became the worst thing you could be. And I found six of them. People who devoted their lives to public service, who believe their work mattered, until they were told they no longer belonged. I'm Michael Lewis in my new audiobook, Blockers, Rebels in the Deep State, tells the story of these blockers, people who kept our most sensitive data secure, helped prevent wildfires, made huge scientific discoveries, but got in the way of the Trump administration's agenda. What fascinated me wasn't politics. It was what happens when a society decides it no longer values the people doing the work it depends on. Get Blockers now,

Starting point is 00:11:27 And I think the answer is yes. You know, the best part of our stuff is parents have. I've come up to me. Thank you. You helped my relationship with my daughter so much. It goes a lot further than you would think. Every time you underestimate a Yukon player
Starting point is 00:11:40 comes at your own peril. You know, when you talk about women's sports, it's like Prego spaghetti sauce. It's in there. You know it at commercial? Like, it's in there. You name it, it's in there. Want to know what's really going on in the WNBA?
Starting point is 00:11:50 We got you. Listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The WNBA playoffs are about to begin. The talent is insane and the personalities are giving main character energy. And of course, the fans love it. But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up. But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The comments were the real deal. I mean, come on. The Liberty never gave up. They never stopped fighting. I knew that rivalry was going to be amazing from the beginning.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I'm Kerry Champion, and this is biggest rivalries of all time, season two. The New York Liberty versus the Houston Commons, the very first rivalry of the WNBA. They picked us to finish last, and they picked them to finish first. That's all you need to know. I remember looking around thinking, this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. Listen to biggest rivalries of all time on the IHard radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Is there bad blood between you in the comments as you guys meet again in the championship? Oh, we're coming back to win. The Knicks sent a fishing email disguised as championship ring offer to Madison Square Garden employees, according to the athletic. Seven league sources all speaking on condition of anonymity so they could talk freely about the sensitive matter said the Knicks assistant coaches did not get their rings on banner night. Typically, most employees for NBA teams, even if they're not as fancy as the expensive ones, the players receive, those Madison Square Garden employees got their hopes at the end of September
Starting point is 00:13:49 when the Knicks sent the email to a long list of employees which gave recipients the first glimpse of what would be championship rings. Atop the top the email, a copy of which the athletic has a, obtained was a graphic of two differently styled rings, but the email was a fake, a fishing test for Master Square Garden sent to and see if employees would click multiple team sources said. Those who clicked the link at the bottom of the message did not get to choose any jewelry. Instead, they were forced to attend a mandatory cybersecurity class to help satisfy some adolesing. Cyber security concerns. That's right. But, Ocho, I was having a conversation with Ash. I said, normally, a lot of times, players and coaches, when we have a ring ceremony, we get our rings. A lot of the marketing and other people that's not directly attached to the football team,
Starting point is 00:14:48 they get their rings out of later dating time. But the football players, we get our ring, Joe, middle of June. Yeah. So when we're back, the players, coaches, they get their rings. Now, a lot of the others, craft services and the marketing and all that, they get their rings at a later date and time. So Ash was like, hey, everybody got boxes.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Like, I don't know about that. Man, they're dirty. I mean, look, you haven't won a championship in 53 years. You mean to tell me everybody don't get no range, Joe? And I understand if the rings, look, If marketing ring doesn't look like Jalen Brunson's and cat, okay, but you got to give them something, Joe. I agree.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I agree because they weren't hard. Is that normal, Uncle Joe? Is that normal? No, everybody get rings, even if they're not the official rings that the players got. Okay, okay, okay, okay. But sometimes, like the secretary, it's like the, like Mike's secretary and Mr. Bowling's secretary, they get rings that look just like ours.
Starting point is 00:15:57 But just the female version. Okay. So everybody else, I mean, outside of the players, they don't get the same rings that the players get. Normally players and coaches, get the direct, I'm talking about players, coaches. Right. Obviously, Mr. B, his secretary, Mike's secretary,
Starting point is 00:16:17 the training staff, the equipment people. Wait, the training staff? The training staff? Yeah, hell, yeah. Yeah. They get the big boys? Yes, yes. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:16:28 You'd be on that training table every damn day here. They're helping you out. They travel. Yeah, yeah, hell, yeah. Hey, that's live. That's live. Yeah. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:16:42 You know, I had the people that say, oh, yeah, let me click. Let me see which one I want, Joe. Hey, thank you for signing up. You're going to have to attend a cyber security meeting. That's crazy. That's wild, man. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Wow. But that's dirty. That's dirty pool there now. It is, man. You don't expect that because, you know, this is such a monumental moment. Yes. In basketball for you are- Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Come on, man. 53. We didn't seen a lot, bro. We didn't seen a lot. That's a lot. That's one tough. Damn. Man.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I would, I would want, I would want to, I would want to Don't the training staff and equipment people. I mean, a dug and flip all those guys, man, they were great. Hey, hey, hey, can you hook these up? I need some new seven studs. Guess what, seven studs, new studs in the bottom of, Ocho, in your locker. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Hey, can you put that a double-sided tape on my pads, man? I need X, Y, and Z. I need to extra this, I need to extra that. It's there. Yeah, yeah. Hey, the training staff, Hey, Greek, can I get a couple of bags of ice to go? Sure, no problem, Sharpie.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Yeah. Sitting in your locker. Yeah. Yeah. All that they do. Yeah, yeah. When I get, think about it, training staff, they're there. I mean, Greek them getting at probably six, 30 at the latest.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Yeah. Because treatment started seven. So they got to have all the iced up, all the ice put in the bins, all the stuff, all the stuff ready to go. The training, the equipment, the, uh, uh, uh, the equipment people, they got to put the laundry basket back in your, back in your locker.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Because they don't watch them overnight. They wash them overnight. Yeah, they deserve it. They ought to be shaming themselves, man. Hey, he might, he might change his mind due to the public. Man, that man said he ain't going to the second Oprah. You see their whole enough, Josh Ardey got no contract extension.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Can they got no contract extension? Hey, hey, you think, hey, Joe, how often do they do they work deals out during the season? No man they having some time they put them on pause. Yeah he closed the door on that, Ocho. And it's crazy. So Josh, Josh and, um, Cat.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Cat, they got to play the whole season without, without you. Yeah, think about it, bro. Like, they just won you a title, my boy. And this is how you treat them? Yeah. So Cat, Cat not going to be there next year and Josh not going to be there next year, basically. No, no, they're going to find a way they got to get them. They'll figure out.
Starting point is 00:19:29 They got the key. Can't go have. Look, Cass, say, I don't. I give y'all a discount, I ain't giving y'all no $76 million discount. Hello, I don't blame it. I give you a discount, maybe like Joe say, maybe 20 mil. I do 20 because I think I can make that up in New York with some people who rub some elbows. I get an opportunity to make some investments, buy some property, X, Y, and Z.
Starting point is 00:19:48 But if y'all think I'm about to get y'all $76 million, y'all let your damn mind. But see, what happens? Your best player, he gave you $113 million discount. So what are the expectations coming now? Now, everybody else got to take a haircut. When Tom Brady did that, the Patriots expected everybody up. Because they used it. Bro, we don't pay Tom, this.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Right. We can't pay you more than Tom. So everybody else got to take a haircut. Now, I like my season. I ain't get no ball fade. Well, right. You can't play here? They're going to figure out a way, though.
Starting point is 00:20:24 They're going to figure out of it. They can't let both of them boys get out of them, man. Hey, they got to figure it out. They got to pay somebody. If they were going to do it, they would have done it by now. I don't understand what the problem is. Because they know they can wait. They know they can wait, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Yeah. After the Titans cut, defense tackle, Jordan Elliott on Tuesday for reportedly pulling a gun out at team facility, head coach Robert Sala defended his former player. Let's take a listen to what Sala had to say. I will stand on the table for Jordan's character. Unfortunately, rules are rules with regards to guns on property. and sometimes it's far greater than the knee-jerk reaction of kicking somebody and kicking somebody when they're down. My message to 31 other teams would be if you need a hell of a run-stopping detackle that can help you on a playoff run,
Starting point is 00:21:13 give me a call. I'll tell you everything you need to know about him. He's a good man. He had a terrible lapse in judgment that I recognized as a call for help more than a criminal act. and it's unfortunate the way it went down. And but, but as far as Jordan's concern and, um, and the locker room and all that,
Starting point is 00:21:35 I think, uh, I think, I think the locker room in Jordan. I think people see it differently here than, than the knee jerk reaction of the world. Actually, theoretically,
Starting point is 00:21:47 if you pull a, first of all, you're not allowed to have a gun on, on NFL premises. That's first and foremost. Second of all, I understand there are no charges filed, but it's menacing.
Starting point is 00:21:56 You cannot, you cannot brandish a fire arm. Now, with that being said, I think Robert Sala, I mean, that just goes to show you the kind of impact that the young man had on Robert Sala because he's going to bat for him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:09 And you're right. He made a terrible error in judgment. Yeah. That could have ended badly. Congratulations, thanks to John Franklin Myers, former Bronco, that he was able to calm him down. Mm. But,
Starting point is 00:22:25 the NFL is probably going to suspend him, even while he's a free agent, and maybe somebody give him an opportunity. Yeah. Maybe that is an opportunity. Because, you know, look, we, we don't poo-poo and we don't make light of mental health. We don't do that.
Starting point is 00:22:41 But in a situation like that, he understands the rule, and he understands the consequences that comes because of his actions. Yes. Yeah. What do you think, Joe? It's very unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:22:57 for the young man, but for me, having a head coach come out and speak like this of you, bro, speak highly of you. Yes. I think the young man will get a second chance because at the end of the day, when you are a free agent, Ocho, I know this is under different circumstances,
Starting point is 00:23:12 but when you are a free agent and these teams want to know something about you, when they call where you used to work at and they can't get nothing good from you about you, man, I'm moving on. But if they call, if they call coach and he ran the raving about you, Obviously, we know the mistake that you've made,
Starting point is 00:23:29 but it's not your character. He'll get another chance, bro. He'll get another chance. Absolutely. Hey, that's for a lot of sit up there. Obviously, recognize the lack in judgment, bad judgment that the player had, understanding that there's no way that he can go back
Starting point is 00:23:45 into that locker room on this team, but understands who he is as a player and being able to stand up for him for 31 other teams, so he does get opportunity. And then saying, And if you need to know about him in his character, call me. Call me. I'll let you know.
Starting point is 00:24:01 And one thing about coaches, their word, they have to stand on that because that's their credibility, especially when it comes to a player. So, Salah, to be able to say that, knowing that it would go publicly and everybody, it would be seen everywhere, that mean young bull is not only a good player, but is a good character guy that made a lapse in judgment. Yeah, he made a horrible mistake. I mean, obviously, you know, we can't do it. that he understands and some look uh uh sometimes there been a lot of lives ruined yeah one bad
Starting point is 00:24:34 mistake yeah one bad yeah one one one lapse in judgment can have a lifetime of lasting impact there are there are a lot of people that's on death role and and because of one bad mistake yeah maybe, hopefully, he gets an opportunity to show that he's greater than the poor decision that he made. Right. He will get it. He'll get it.
Starting point is 00:25:07 And for a coach to stand on the table, let me tell you about the character. That happened. Yep. But he would probably been the last person that I'd expect something to that because the guy works hard. He comes on time.
Starting point is 00:25:22 He's very professional. He's very, hey, The emotion he's got the best of him that day. Obviously, the NFL is going to require that he goes to therapy, and he's going to probably want to go. Yeah. Because, boy, for you to get, for you to get, Ocho, because most of the time, most of the time, people don't shoot strangers.
Starting point is 00:25:43 They shoot people they didn't know. But for you to get that upset at a teammate, we don't know what was said, we don't know what transpired. But for you to get that upset, there's probably something that, you know, we need to have a goal. sit down and have somebody, they had a, got a lot of, got a lot of paper on their walls. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:05 That you can talk to them about and says, okay, what's the root of this? What, what's going on in my life? Because they want to know what transpired from, let's backtrack. Because we got to get from this point, and we got to go backwards. Because we can't go forward until we go back. We got to look back and see what caused this. What made you so angry that the only way that you feel that you could solve this problem was with that handgun? But man, I don't know how many coaches,
Starting point is 00:26:35 and there might be maybe behind the scenes, but for Robert Sala to come out and to voice that publicly? Yeah. Yeah. I got, hey, I ain't got no hat on. You know what? If I had a hat, I tip my hat to it. Hey, but honestly, that's a good thing for Sala
Starting point is 00:26:51 because most coaches, they probably wouldn't do this. Most coaches probably wouldn't do this. And he understood how much he can help young bull out too. by coming out saying it publicly, no, just in case, you never know. You never know. He does therapy,
Starting point is 00:27:09 does counseling, he does whatever, whatever ruling and judgment that the NFL, you know, disposed, you know, puts on him, maybe suspension,

I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no? I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox.
Starting point is 00:28:40 I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. In Washington, it became the worst thing you could be. And I found six of them. People who devoted their lives to public service, who believed their work mattered, until they were told they no longer belonged.
Starting point is 00:29:21 I'm Michael Lewis in my new audiobook, Blockers, Rebels in the Deep State, tells the story of these blockers. people who kept our most sensitive data secure, helped prevent wildfires, made huge scientific discoveries, but got in the way of the Trump administration's agenda. What fascinated me wasn't politics. It was what happens when a society decides it no longer values the people doing the work it depends on. Get Blockers now, only at blockers.fm. The talent is insane and the personalities are giving main character energy. And of course, the fans love it. But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story.
Starting point is 00:31:12 I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up. But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The comments were to real deal. I mean, come on. The Liberty never gave up. They never stopped fighting. I knew that rival. We were. was going to be amazing from the beginning. I'm Kerry Champion, and this is biggest rivalries of all time season two. The New York Liberty versus the Houston Commons, the very first rivalry of the WNBA. They picked us to finish last, and they picked them to finish first.
Starting point is 00:31:46 That's all you need to know. I remember looking around thinking, this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. Listen to biggest rivalries of all time on the IHard radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is there bad blood between you in the comments as you guys meet again in the championship? Oh, we're coming back to win.
Starting point is 00:32:17 All right, it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Kevin is a non-delusional cowboy fan. Oh, Ocho, if y'all were on the Cowboys, is hearing all the jokes outside noise. Wouldn't that motivate you? Seems like nothing motivates this team. I mean, the thing, it's hard to say,
Starting point is 00:32:47 Ocho, because you and I, I didn't, well, you got a little bit of it. I got none of the social media era. So it's hard to say, but I'm a very self-motivated person. I don't need somebody talking bad about my team or talking bad about me to get me going. I'm going to get me going.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah, hey, I'm, I'm the same. I'm like, I do all the talking to get me going. I ain't got no choice but performed. Exactly. I don't, I look like a damn fool. I'm talking bad about us too. Y'all don't even, y'all have to tag.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Do y'all know like we were on a losing streak? We're talking bad to each other. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Hey, please. Boy, it was, hey, whoa, we lost the game. Boy, don't you miss no tackle or drop no pass.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Hey, boy, ooh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Let them have it. Yeah. Hold on. Go check out that song, y'all called Welcome to a Nightcap. Welcome to Nightcap by Relly Rail. We got a song out?
Starting point is 00:33:57 I don't even know I ain't heard it. What a song? That's a new song? When did it come out? When did we put this up? Oh, okay. Hey, what would it say? What's the lyrics?
Starting point is 00:34:18 What's the lyrics? I need to start practicing. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Ocho said if you're a gambling man, put all your money on the heat. Oh, Iso, Ocho, can you please congratulate me on being homeless now? Thank you, guys.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Man, y'all listen to Ocho with that foolish man, tell me to put all your money on the heat, man, please. Listen, listen, it's only week one. Like, y'all know how I am. That man homeless. He ain't going to go to week, too. He's good, he good, he good. He ain't really bet that much.
Starting point is 00:34:56 He ain't bet that much. But hey, he put, hey, man, every time I, hey, that boy, aunt, man. Hey, and too, Joe, you know what? It's one thing to watch it on TV, Joe. You know, and I don't really go to basketball game, but y'all got me invested, you got me more interested to not only just watch it, but, like, actually understand
Starting point is 00:35:17 what's actually going on. Right, right, right. Man, them dudes, man, to be that, be that tall, and they're moving so goddamn. fast way. Gahly, man. Being able to stop and start and transition and, hey,
Starting point is 00:35:32 Melo be out there chilling, boy. Hey, when he's shooting, it's like, it's like he don't even care. That's how he shoot. It is. That's how he play, O-Too. You just let that thing go, man. He out there like a little kid on the park,
Starting point is 00:35:44 just playing, boy. Hey, that was dope to see in person, though. That was live. Lanny Ray says, shout out to Ocho for trash-talking, Aunt Man, making him drop 45 on the heat. My wolves are going to be a problem.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Wolves are back. Yeah, lady, I mean, look, she's feeling real good right now because the Vikings, undefeated. Right now, Edman and Mello, they look really good last night, blew out the heat, and Janus is opening night. But so she's feeling really good right now about herself, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Yeah, yeah. Walker Kessler in one game looked better than Abomination did all last season. He did. Because what did he do that DeAndre Ait wouldn't do? Run. Yeah. That man ain't trying to get no shots off the glass.
Starting point is 00:36:37 He ain't trying to shoot no face up and do all that. Yeah, yeah. He had 10 dunks. Yeah. The man had 10 dunks. DeAndre ain't way more athletic than Alex Kessler. DeAndre ain't lazy. Hey, there was a hell of a performance by Kessler.
Starting point is 00:36:57 first game. Yes. To play like that. All you got to do, he playing off off Luca and AR. Just pick and roll. I'm going to the rim. Just throw it up there. I'm going to get it, bro.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Thank you. That's all you. If I'm a big, I want to play with somebody like Luca. Because all I do is run to the rim, and he's going to lob it up. If he's getting trouble, he's going to lob it up.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Now I get the dunk at home. Yeah. I can average. Walker Kessler should average somewhere between 14 and 20 points a night. He should average about four to five dunks a night, Ocho and Joe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Yeah, I got him at about 18 to about 21, 22 a night. Yeah, because Luke and A.R. going to have a ball in their hands so much, and they're going to draw so much attention. And if you run a pick and roll with him, hell, he ain't no big still. That big boy going to get the ball. Yeah, he could lie to the basket. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Yeah. Dr. J. Cassius, Clay, Creambole, Prize picks, power play, leg of sixes and five. The collapsing cavaliers are back, but their coach said analytically, they won. No, not this time. They're adaptive analytics. Yeah. I guess the bears are the best thing since sliced bread, huh?
Starting point is 00:38:23 My vikes shut them down a week two, and yes, it was bad weather for both teams, had to play it, and people need to chill on these guys. Look, they won, but the bears are a good team. and saw the bikes. Yeah. That's a tough division. Green Bay is really good.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Very. Detroit's offense is good. Their defense is atrocious. Ocho, when a chat, Unc and Joe going to listen to your takes. I remember you picking the Panthers to win the division last year.
Starting point is 00:38:59 You said keep out on Luther Burton last year as well. Because we'd have been homeless and we listened to him and talk about the heat in the temple wolves. Hey, that's just one game. Now, remember, I also said,
Starting point is 00:39:11 I ain't got no money, though. How about you said bet everything? Not literally everything. Listen, that's teeth. That's tongue and cheek. I don't really mean every. But also, remember I told you, anytime I talk about sports,
Starting point is 00:39:24 I'm 98%, 90% success rate. See that heat wolves game? That's that 2% I'm talking about right there. There it is. I ain't got no more money now. I bet the 2% that you got, wrong. Hey, I'm destitute.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Don't worry about it. You're going to get it back because the rest of the week, the rest of the year, I'm going to be right. I ain't got no money. Hey, especially basketball season. I got one game wrong. Now, you saw the run I went on in the playoffs last year, right? Hey, man, there's something out there.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Come on, man. Hey, Joe, sound like you mad. Huh? Damn. Hey, say it for Monday night. Hey, Joe, save him for Monday night. You think you mad at night, wait the Monday night. All right, all right.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Huh? Oh, he, oh, he, oh, he, oh. If you think you're mad now. Wait until Monday. Yeah. Oh, you got to wait till now. What's up night camp? I thought people said Maxie Brown and Beat and Braun wouldn't work together.
Starting point is 00:40:23 And they're two and oh. Ocho, why are you mad at? Man last night, he dropped 45 on y'all? Hey. Hey, aunt, you think some people don't understand that we all, we all know each other, we all cool, that we all friends or they don't understand the trash talk between
Starting point is 00:40:40 Nah, for sure. They, they understand that, but they know you put that jumper cable in his back and head his ass go off a 45. They know that. No, I think some people really don't understand. I don't think they know we know each other personally. I think they really think it's serious.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Like, when I read some in the comments and like, some of these people kind of off a little bit. It seems like, like, are y'all taking this really serious? You know? I don't know. It seemed like that man took it serious here. He's got 40. Hey, well, I took a series, too, Joe.
Starting point is 00:41:08 I took a series too. Hey, Joe, I mean, Joe, listen, I swear for God. I mean, every goddamn word I said, the only problem is, I ain't had nobody at the back of my damn talk. No. It's all good.
Starting point is 00:41:23 It's all good. You know Caleb was going to cry if that sack would have cost them the game. Yeah, he's got to be smarter than that. But I think the thing is in that situation, the one thing that you didn't want to do is that you didn't want to stop the clock by throwing in their completion.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Right. And let them keep their time out. So I think the thing is that it was a double-edged sword because they backed them up 10 yards. It made a, look, there are no easy field goals, but 48-yard is more like, but these legs, the guys got now, Ocho. Different.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Ooh, that boy put a foot on that, didn't he? He did. He did. Will Luther Burton be considered a top-10 receiver in the near future? If they give him targets, you do realize in order to, oh, Joe, I don't know if people realize that. Yeah, having a game, but are they going to consist to give him targets like they gave him tonight? Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:42:17 They're only a handful of guys that get, you know, you got to look at J.S. In, you got to look at Chase. You look at Puka. There's only a handful of guys that you know every game, they're getting at least 10 to 12 targets. Yeah. Mm-hmm. There ain't a whole lot of guys like that. Mm-mm.
Starting point is 00:42:35 That every game, hey, he going to get 10, 12 balls thrown his way. Yeah. No matter where he's at, inside, outside, in motion, he's getting 1012 targets. Yeah, if there are a lot of guys that can move up, but a lot of guys don't get that can, don't, don't get those consistent targets. If you can't be chased without getting 10, 12 targets a game, you can't be, have JSC. I mean, think about JSA and he got 65 targets.
Starting point is 00:43:01 He's getting 11 targets a game, Ocho. That's crazy. Crazy. Ocho, you can't say basketball after Ant Man put that mean demonstration. Isso, do you think Braun's role is like a prime
Starting point is 00:43:19 Dreemann? Yeah, I do. I think Bronro is similar to Draymonds, but we know Bron is more of an offensive threat, but he is looking to pass first and then score if nothing is there.
Starting point is 00:43:35 You know what I mean? Like, Brun is out there looking to facilitate. He's looking to get VJ on them back doors on them back cuts to get them some dunks to kind of keep him playing hard and keep him going uh and they kind of do everybody kind of defers to maxi to kind of just let him go it's almost like playing with a i back in 99 okay oh cho yeah i mean hey you go out and get your damn 30 the rest of us we're going to figure it out you know what i mean i just think they got a great situation because brun ain't trying to overdo nothing bro he he deferring everybody he letting
Starting point is 00:44:05 everybody work and look i'm gonna get buying i'm gonna get my head it ain't gonna be 20 25 a night, but I guarantee it's going to be effective. I think this is a perfect role for him, perfect role. Yep. Super conservative run, run, pass play calling from Pat's OC on offense. On back-to-back drive, spotted the Bears 10 points in the first quarter. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:44:28 But then they got it going. They stopped the Bears, and then, you know, Drake made through a very costly interception into the end zone that took points off the board. Of the board, yeah. So now all of a sudden, let's just say, Singapore, they get three. Now all they need is a field goal to tie them and not a touchdown to beat them. Right.
Starting point is 00:44:46 With so many good teams, what so many good teams are this year, is the best league that's looked since the 90s or the early 2000s? Are you talking about football or basketball? It got to be talking about basketball. Basketball, okay. I think, I think it's a lot of teams that were kind of dormats over the past some of our years, Uncle Ocho, that are now starting to kind of train. in the right direction.
Starting point is 00:45:11 I think the parody around the league is great to where there's really no one team head and shoulders above the other. You know what I mean? OKC, Spurs, Knicks, you know, et cetera. It's a few pretty, pretty good teams. But for the most part, man, this should be a great year of basketball. Which is the hardest job to coach the Cowboys, the Lakers, or Real Madrid? I say Real Madrid because if you don't win UCL or beat Barker,
Starting point is 00:45:42 You're gone, Ocho. Who do you think? El classical this weekend. Yeah, El classical this weekend, Real Madrid, Barcelona, I think probably coaching that Real Madrid is a little bit more difficult, probably the most difficult
Starting point is 00:45:54 because of the pressure. The pressure, obviously, to win. And if you don't win, you're out of there. The leash, the leash is much shorter. You know how it is in the NFL? You know, you got one, you know, maybe two or three years. But in soccer or football, as they say, Listen, you go on a losing streak
Starting point is 00:46:14 or maybe three, four, five games. Out of the out. Yeah. For a club like that? And the Cowboys, you can lose a bunch of the Cowboys to keep your job. Come on, come on, chill.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Damn, Joe. Hey, but if you look at analytics, the Cavs won this game, L-O-L. I mean, these teams, dude, they rather out too much on analytics, though, not Joe. Oh, Joe. Yeah, it's too much.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Everything's by analytics. Yeah, they're not. They let analytics kind of control the game, you know, so to speak, Arcan Ocho, you know what I don't like it. I don't like it. I don't like it. Because every time on 4th, that is it, oh, go for it. It's a toss-up where, you know, you make it, you know, 45% to score points.
Starting point is 00:46:59 This means. Come on, man. Damn. Big three, what's up? The calves soft, especially them big. They consistently show no heart, no fight. They literally have no dogs on their team. To me, you have to trade Mobley or Allen.
Starting point is 00:47:17 have no muscle inside. Damn. I disagree. I think they got muscle. I just think you can't really, it's hard to go to them dudes down the stretch because down the stretch, you only looking at Donovan and James Hard.
Starting point is 00:47:31 It's like everybody else just kind of watching. You know what I mean? Yep. And that's why they have trouble getting over the hump. Y'all are talking about them bears yet? No matter. Bear down. Yeah, we talked about it for 30 minutes.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Oh, Joe, I thought you got hell of hands. You can handle several thousand Ravens fans at the same time. Hey, are you right about that? But see, I'm going to be good. The Ravens fans love me, man. Listen, I'm about the only person, man. I can go into enemy territory, and they never booed me, man. They never booed me.
Starting point is 00:48:06 It's always love everywhere I go. So I may enjoy myself. I never had an opportunity to the tailgate, you know, with Ravens fans. So this would be a good old time. Man, you had no opportunity to tailgate with nobody. Mofo, you bid the game. Yeah, you're going to tailgate. Oh, you're right.
Starting point is 00:48:22 You're right. You're right. Joe, how he's going to tailgate? He's going to the game. You're right. We're going to make it a good one, though. We're going to make it a good. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Luca got me happy, my boy, Apollo, a true bucket in Orlando, and my birthday twin going crazy in the ATL. Yeah, Angel, wants a ring, and Brian still king. Yeah, Atlanta did a number on, but they had you, Apollo, Van Karo was giving him that worked the night, Joe. He was. He was. But Nikiel Alexander Walker, he was right there.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Hey, valid every, every, every, every bucket. Hey, most improved player last year. Yeah, he got most improved last year, Uncle Ocho. He's looking to validate that and top it. I, hey, I can see Nikkeel Alexander being an all-star this year. Yeah. I can say, like, if he, if he can sustain pretty good play and the Hawks are top four seed in the east,
Starting point is 00:49:16 we'll have two all-stars for sure. Yeah. The 612 came in the 305 and took over wolves here. Y'all got it. Y'all got it. I ain't, I ain't finished, you know, it is what it is. And we ain't got to pay. Ocho, they say, Ocho needs some facial hair looking like a newborn baby.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Clean-shave ain't putting y'all back in fringed. Time to let it go. Hey, Joe, I do look like, I do look like I'm about 24, 25, though. That what you thinking? Hey, that's what my girl told me. She said, well, you look young. You look when I cut my hair. Yeah, she got a job to do those.
Starting point is 00:50:01 And that's to make you, that's to make you feel good, okay? Hey, listen, I don't need no help in that area, Joe. You know, I'm so, I'm not, I'm not. Oh, so I did, oh, so you say I need to cut my head? Now, yeah, oh, oh, I'll say, oh. No, I said, oh, you need to let that clean, that clean shaving go. You need to come on, come on, you know, growth to a mention. No, no, see, they want me to let it go so I can look old.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Uh-uh. Uh-uh. You're gonna, you're gonna look like little patchy, huh? You're gonna look like little patchy? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The thing we all splotchy. No, I get, I go, I go right to turkey now and get that fix that quick, man. There ain't no problem.
Starting point is 00:50:43 But I'm just saying, you see, you see them do going to turkey. The head swelling up and everything after they get that, to get that job done. Well, hey, it can, it can fill in. Oh, you're so cold. They pick all the problems. They take all them follow. out of there, Ocho. I ain't tripping.
Starting point is 00:50:57 I ain't tripping. I'm good, I'm good like this though. You hit me, Joe? Yeah, yeah. I like that. I tell you what, Ocho, you grow one, I'm a shade mine. Nah, I'm good. What?
Starting point is 00:51:06 Hey, Uncle, it ain't gonna happen, huh. Hey, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I like, I enjoy, like, I still go play, I still go to the gas station. You know, they be, they be trying to card me. They still be card. Yeah, I'm like, man, damn. Yeah, I'm like, man, I'm damn there. I'm damn there 58.
Starting point is 00:51:22 What you card me for? card me for you for real like yeah you got good skin I say yeah what's what you do what's you routine I say I just you know black soap that's it you know so I didn't doing good for myself now oh you use the big African soap uh yeah it's called fair and white I get it out the hood from the beauty supply stove called fair and white black soap hey I'll be seeing people on Twitter and uh oh and our Instagrams yeah they be having all type of routines I'm like godly yeah I ain't got that kind of time me neither Hey, Joe, I get that black soap.
Starting point is 00:51:56 Man, I laughed up real quick one time. I go to bed, man. They got like three or four different routines. Man, sometimes I'm so tired. I go to bed. Ain't no washing no faith. I'm going to brush my teeth now. Big three, you can only keep three.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Maxwell, pretty wings, Usher, Confessions, Luther Vandross, never too much. R. Kelly, bump and grind, age time knocking boots, Rick, Tina, Tina, Maria, Rick James, Fire and Desire, or Stevie Wonder. What's Stevie Wonder song?
Starting point is 00:52:35 Hey, you and I. Stevie Wonder, you and I. Okay. Hold on, what was that, R. Kelly song? Bumping grind. I don't see nothing wrong. Hey, I'm keeping, I don't care what y'all say.
Starting point is 00:52:50 Tina Marie and, uh, uh, and fire and desire ain't going nowhere. They go, wait, they first. You get, hold on, you knockin' age time out of there knocking the boots. Oh, but Tina Marie and Rick Jane. Did you, have you ever heard Tina, I mean, you got to see them saying that so. And they, and Rick telling the story, and the band was telling the story how they were beefing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:08 They were, they were at each other neck when they sung that. That's real passionate in that with Joe. A fire and desire. Yeah. Yeah. But it was something you said early on. But I can't remember the option. I can't remember the early options you said.
Starting point is 00:53:27 Uh, pretty wings. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Maxwell. Usher, Confessions, too. Luther Vandross, never too much, never too much. No. Age town. Somebody knocking boots. Boy, y'all, tripping.
Starting point is 00:53:39 That Usher, confessions, too, and that age town? Nah, hey, Joe. Hey, Joe, hey, somebody sent Joe fire and desire for Tina. Yeah, hey, hey, oh, oh, pie size Tina. Hey, that's a different, that's, they're in a different strategy. Boy, hey, then women back there, they have, they have no size of me. Her, Stephanie Meals, Stephanie Mills, like four, like four, 11, maybe five but tall. Tina Marie, like five, two.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Shocker ain't, but them, what, them ladies, hey, they're more barefoot singles. They don't need no by the mic in a stool. Yeah. It's coming from the diaphragm. They don't, they don't, they don't make them like that no more. No, son. Hey, I don't know if y'all saw, but y'all needed to see Adele in concert.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Because Adele is a barefoot sick. She put on the show? Mean demonstration. Hello. Mean demonstration. Man, she can sing. All right, so pick all ready to learn and Shannon's playbook for the boys in the bay.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Taking that number three journey from Christian up. Christian Kirk, Cowboys, some slaw. Brock Purdy is the MVP, bang, bang, Niner game. Hey, Brock Purdy, do got a chance to be MVP while we playing. Oh, yeah. With the Cowboys slow, that ain't, no, we're not slow.
