Remember, nightcap doesn't happen without you, so please subscribe or you're going to make Ocho. All right, Ocho. Liam Cohen, head coach, Jacksonville Jaguys says Travis Hunter winning offensively
Starting point is 00:02:31 and defensive rookie of the year is possible. Travis is listed as the start on offense and a backup on defense. To have a chance of winning both awards, you need to be playing full-time offense and defense. So what do you think? I like it. I like it. I like it. I don't defensively, I don't think you're winning.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I think defensively rookie of the year is probably going to be Abdul-Carder. It's going to be Abdul-Carter. I'm not sure what the workload would look like for Ascent Ginty down there in Las Vegas. But I think he would probably come in second. But watching Abdul Carter and knowing what he can do defensively, especially coming off that edge, he's going to be a menace.
Starting point is 00:03:07 He is going to be a minute. And you think about it, he got Lawrence, he got Thimito. So pick and choose, he got a top two, three defensive tackle. He got Kayvon Fibon that can, you know, we know what he can do. He can rush the passer when he's healthy. So it's going to be hard to slide and try to like double him and take him away. You know, normally what we've seen is that quarterbacks get a, get a premium on winning rookie of the year. Because, oh, Joe, they got the ball.
Starting point is 00:03:46 You're going to be throwing, he throws 30 touchdowns. It's hard to overcome that. Now, you have a situation like Chase, you know, Chase put 1,400 yards up, so it was hard to deny. deny him you look at who else like you said gentie running backs
Starting point is 00:04:06 you get 300 carers he average four and a half five yard of carry that's 14-50 hundred yards right there absolutely and then guess what 1450 hundred yards
Starting point is 00:04:16 with 12 15 touchdowns I like I like it by offense a rookie year you like a lot Yes, sir, because they're going to get him that ball. They're going to get him that ball. Listen, Brian Tom and Jr., he's not going,
Starting point is 00:04:33 Brian Tom and Jr. is going to do exactly what he did last year, plus something. But because Tom and Jr. is so great at what he does so early, he's going to be the one to get double. He's going to be the one to get double. And that's when Trav is going to do what he does. He's going to be going to make the plays that he makes. I'm curious when they go nickel,
Starting point is 00:04:56 I want to have Trav coming on Nickel. Oh, you're for sure The question is Is he going to be outside or is it going to be inside? I think it'd be inside to start off You think so? Yeah He's tall
Starting point is 00:05:10 I think he's I think he better Outside Okay See I don't know the depth chart for the Jaguars I'm not sure they're I'm sure they probably do have a nickel So they might I'm not sure how it's going to work
Starting point is 00:05:21 Now hey Ocho you know them guys in them slot man Them joke was stopping on Them lay in McCormack Hey, they running that Zorro route on you. They're running that will. They run it that whip route. It's different.
Starting point is 00:05:36 You get got, like Keenan Allen. Hey, did Keenan Allen just go back? Did he go back to the charges? I like that. I like that. Yeah. I like that move too. I do.
Starting point is 00:05:47 I like that move for a four months. Familiar with the system. So all they got to do is. Familiar offense. Familiar with the quarterback. I like it. I like that move. there's uh there it is uh on your screen do you see it the depth chart
Starting point is 00:06:01 no it's not it's not up there it's not it's it's it's it to you right now let me see let me check that out real quick yeah he gonna be starting because right now jor and lewis is the nickel back i got it now you got Tyson Campbell, you got Jerry and Jones. Oh, Jordan Lewis is there. Okay, okay. Yeah, from the Cowboys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Oh, yeah, he definitely, oh, yeah, he definitely, no disrespect. Darnel Savage, I think he's from Green Bay. Okay, I like Armstead, Josh Hines Island, Ola Koon. They got, they got a
Starting point is 00:06:53 nice love, they got a nice little squad. What? I am happy to be back to. Come on. They got a nice love squad. Yeah, they're going to be, they're going to be all right.
Starting point is 00:07:07 I'll see you. I see you. I miss you too, buddy. And you, when you get special players like that, man, all you got to do is put them in position, man.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And it opens up everything else. You can do more. You have certain type of players with a special, skill set. That's why I like what the Steelers have this year, excuse me, on defense. You know, they tailed off towards the end of the season for whatever reason, but they have so much now where they can do more. It opens up the playbook because you have a certain set of players that have special skill sets. It allows you to do more than what you could last time, or last year
Starting point is 00:07:47 for that matter. Yeah. It's always going to be interesting. Like I said, it's, I mean, I just, who, I think that's just asking a lot of the young man to play at that elite level and to try to play two positions. He grown men out here. It's different. Listen, he said he could do it. We're going to find out. We're going to find out real soon.
Starting point is 00:08:12 You're going to find out. I have a question. As a rookie, does he play in the preseason or no? Yeah. I think you've got to give him some. I think you got to get him some. Let him go? Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Okay. Get used to that speed of the game because it's completely different. It's completely different than practice. Titus. What up, twin? I guess you can tell I've been gone for 12 days. Oh, you've been going that long? Hey, Titus.
Starting point is 00:08:47 What up, twin? Come on, come on down to Miami. I take it to the dog park over in Midtown. He said, I'm intact. He said they'll, they'll throw us both out. Why? He intact. He still got to see.
Starting point is 00:09:06 He still got his seat. Oh, yeah, that's the whole point. I give a, hey, listen. It's a nice, nice, nice poodles out there, little collies, you know. People sue you, man. Stop. Stop.
Starting point is 00:09:21 That's nothing. Got me all scratched up. Hey, they about swimming for every goddamn thing these day. Jesus Christ. So it's all right. I'm worried about it. I ain't shit. I ain't got it.
Starting point is 00:09:36 No. But it's going to be very interesting to see. He's starting wide receiver opposite of Brian Thomas Jr. And then he's back up to, Jerry and Jones. So, hey, paying him a boatload of money. He says he can do it.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Let's see what he can do. Prove all the doubt is wrong. Mm-hmm. The Colorado Buffalo Football have added Travis Hunt and Shador Sanders' successes to their legacy hall. Colorado Buffalo football, they tweeted two new legends,
Starting point is 00:10:18 one historic hall. Welcome to Legacy Hall, Travis Hunter and Shadour Sanders. Many had issues with Shadour and Travis's jersey being retired by Coach Prime so quickly. Ocho, did Sanders and Hunter do enough to be immortalized so quickly? Yeah, I would think so.
Starting point is 00:10:38 There have been some other great, great college players. I'm not sure if they, brother Cordell Stewart, if I'm not mistaken. The running back. Well, Rajam Salaam, who's no longer with it, he won the Hizman, he won the, he was their first, he won the Hizman. They've had, look, it's one more. I think it's Supreme Court, he's a Supreme Court justice, Byron Willser White. I think it was a Supreme Court justice.
Starting point is 00:11:05 He was the first great Colorado player. He was another running back. I'm missing the running back. I think he wore number, they had Eric B. Enemy. Eric B. Enemy. Yeah. Yeah. They had Darian Hagan.
Starting point is 00:11:17 J.J. Flanagan came out with me. But they had some, they had really good football players. I mean, defense players. You know, Chad Brown, they had Alfred Williams. They had Chris Hudson, Ronnie Bradford. I mean, they've had some, they've had some good players. They've had some good players. You know, Michael Westbrook came out of there.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Ray Caruth came out. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Brooke came out of there. He and Cordell was on the same team. I mean, listen, this is, I mean, Prime, Prime Sauce. saw and felt it was fitting, you know, to retire, especially with what they did. They had two good seasons. They turned that program around.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't really see anything wrong with it, especially based off what the team looked like before they got there. And there should be nothing to be mad at. Well, look, you're always going to have some people, because there are some people that says, hey, there are some guys that came before them, and they probably should have, you know, not. I don't think the issue is the retirement of the Jersey.
Starting point is 00:12:22 I think it's the time and how soon that it happened. So like a lot of these, say if it happened 20, and time was saying, hold on, so what? Rashall, you do Rashom's Salam number, but look what it took for you to do it. You gave him flowers, but he ain't here to smell him. So I think I could be wrong. I'm speaking as if I said, okay,
Starting point is 00:12:46 that's how I'm thinking I'm thinking out loud so you guys can hear me it's like okay I got no problem you want to retire Travis you want to try your door can we like make it like 20 years
Starting point is 00:12:57 I'm different let me tell you the University of South Carolina retired my brother's number he was still playing so who am I Savannah State they didn't retire my number
Starting point is 00:13:12 they just didn't wouldn't give it out there are a lot of guys that came in wanted to wear the number two. And I remember Mackie, who would be the head athletic trainer and Bill Davis said, I don't think you guys
Starting point is 00:13:24 realized who actually wore that number. Yeah, Coach, you have a sharp wore it. Like, a three-time first team, Black College All-American, a Kodak All-American, three-time player of the year, offensive player of the year, Georgia State player to year. There ain't a whole lot of black college.
Starting point is 00:13:46 players can say they were state player the year. I beat University of Georgia players out. I beat Georgia Tech players out for that award. Yeah, Bill said, uh-uh. And so Coach Davis had passed and the president got in touch with Bucket.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Bucket put me in touch with him. Says, hey, shouldn't nobody. After talking to everybody that was here and some of the faculty was still there. Nah. So, hey come to bother you, not Jordan.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And so, but honestly, Ocho, I think that has a lot to do with it. It's not that the numbers got retired. There's like, is that, it's like, they bypass the line. So, you know, Alfred Williams, a Chad Brown who was Bucketts Award winners and things like that. What, when, whoever was in a position of power, why didn't they have him retired then? well don't start me the line i don't know i don't know that much about colorado i mean i played in the state and i'm familiar with them but i i don't know listen if they felt that much about them and they were great as they were during their time there whoever was in in place should have retired
Starting point is 00:14:59 him should have retired the jersey if they saw fit so i'm not sure why people are complaining Dion Sanders during his time having Shadour I mean, I'm confused. It makes no sense. Travis Hunter, it might have been the top selling jersey
Starting point is 00:15:20 when he was playing. And I'm not talking about Colorado. It's about it in general. The Colts released their first official depth chart on today ahead of their Thursday preseason game against the Ravens.
Starting point is 00:15:32 The quarterback selection, Dept chart reads as follows. Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson, Senior. Oh, I like that. I like how he did that. They said, or, right? But that thing up in the air, huh? That thing, it is up in the air.
Starting point is 00:15:51 It's up in the air. Oh, my goodness, man. I'm hoping Anthony Richardson is doing everything possible. I hope he's doing everything right. Going the extra mile, watching extra film. staying at the practice of the receivers, talking to your officer coordinator, talking to your head coach,
Starting point is 00:16:08 doing everything you can to make sure you do your best to win that job. Yeah. I hope so. Sorry. What I don't get, though, look, I believe you could have got the same,
Starting point is 00:16:24 I believe you could have got the same results bringing the guy in there and says, hey, I'm going to give you an equal opportunity to compete with this job and pay them $5 million. Oh. as opposed to bringing Daniel Jones in there and paying him $14 million because you got an expensive-ass backup
Starting point is 00:16:39 if he doesn't win this job. That's the agent. The agent worked his magic. The agent worked this magic. The agent got in that money. I think it was anywhere else, he would have got no $14 million to be no backup.
Starting point is 00:16:50 No. Yeah. And plus Ocho, I'm going to give you an opportunity to compete for a starting job. Ain't a whole lot of places we're going to give him an opportunity to compete for a starting job.
Starting point is 00:17:01 So this is, I mean, and I get it. I would have went there also, $14 million and a legitimate opportunity to compete for a job. Most definitely. Most definitely. Can't complain about that. But you're absolutely right.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Anthony Richardson, he needs to stay healthy. Hopefully he's learned from some of the mistakes that he's made over his first two years. And through that process, maturity, and just understanding what it takes to be a professional. You know, quarterback, hopefully he's able to turn the corner. Listen, you don't have a choice but to turn the corner. You know what the third year means, right?
Starting point is 00:17:43 Yeah. That should make it a break of year. That's when teams make a decision. You know what? Are you our future or are you not? Or do we need to keep looking for someone at that position? Well, third year, guess what they normally do with quarterbacks when they play well? They normally reward them after the third.
Starting point is 00:18:02 year. This is this year. Yeah. So yeah, look, he has a, you know, he's saying all the right things. You know, hey, I got to, you know, I got to eat a certain way. I got to cut the candy out, Ocho. I got to eat like a professional. I have to do things like a professional. I have to study. I got to be the first one in. He's saying all the right things. Now it's a matter of doing all that lines up you say this you do this and because they look at that team offensively they got a good team mocho they really do when you look at their skill position players
Starting point is 00:18:47 you look at their running back they got a solid offensive line they got a nice defensive line they got a good day they surely do yeah they got some good players but I just the last couple of years they've been held back by the quarterback there's no other way around it
Starting point is 00:19:07 and we're not taking no shots at him we're not beating nobody down it's just it's just the facts that their quarterback play has been insufficient inadequate not up to part and when you got
Starting point is 00:19:24 and when you got those you got Jonathan Taylor and you got Michael Pitman Jr. and you got got Pierce and you got all those guys. No, bro, and Downs? What's the other is it McMillan, no? No, no, no, no, no. They got Pierce,
Starting point is 00:19:42 Pittman Jr., and they got another guy. I think he's wearing number 10, if I'm not mistaken. I might be saying his last name. Yeah. Oh, A.D. Mitchell. Mitchell, that's what he. That's about McMillan. Mitchell. Hey, A.D. Mitchell. Hey, he. Downs? Josh Downs. Yeah, oh,
Starting point is 00:20:00 They got, oh, they got some, they got some skill position player. A.D. Mitchell going to be nice, boy. Yeah. Defensively, that front seven, they're really good. Now the back end, hey, y'all need to tighten up a little bit. But, hey, they got a nice front seven. The quarterback play need to match that. Is it?
Starting point is 00:20:22 When you've accumulated that kind of talent, because guess what, Ocho? You like to think, and that's what teams do. they try to, hey, let's mortgage this thing. We got to, you see what Houston, the Texans are doing. They're like, we got this quarterback on a rookie contract because that next contract, it's going to be kind of hard to be able to keep all these pieces around said individual player. Even if he gives you a discount, he'll give you no $100 million discount.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Absolutely not. So it's going to be incumbent on Anthony Richardson to do better, to play better. look he got drafted on potential that's what it was he was basically a 50% quarterback in college he was a 50% quarterback in high school he's been a 50% quarterback
Starting point is 00:21:09 but the tools that he preserves I mean also he's 6-5 he's 2.45 he ran 4-4 you throw the ball 80 yards throw the ball 50 yards on one knee all that side but this is not the football Olympics
Starting point is 00:21:24 you need precision you need touch, you need understanding, you need the ability to process information, decipher that information, and then the ball needs to be gone. To the right player, in the right position. Yeah. I don't think you and I're not breaking, we're not breaking news to anybody. You watch the game, you know his play needs to get better. In order for them to be the type of team that the Colts want to be,
Starting point is 00:21:54 he's got the vast oh Joe he's got to vastly improve and we ain't talking about no marginal improvement we're talking about vastly improved yes huge jumps he's got to and look and
Starting point is 00:22:12 it's going to be look it's going to be the owner Jim Ursay passed away his daughters are running the team now so you know they're going to have that you know they're going to be play I'm sure Shane Steichen who's the head head coach is telling them, hey, we got to play for something.
Starting point is 00:22:27 You know, Mr. Ursay, this season is dedicated to him and X, Y, and Z, and rightfully so. But Mr. Richardson's, bro, you got to perform. Yeah. They're paying you, hey, they took you, they took a chance. And that's the only thing, Ocho, you see, you know, man, I want the sure thing is things like this that gets you fired. because the last thing I want to be doing is taking a quarterback three years ago and I'm right back in the draft
Starting point is 00:23:00 taking a quarterback again. Dang. I'm supposed to be trying to find, I'm supposed to be trying to fill in, Ocho. I buy a house, Ocho. I ain't trying to buy a house in three years. I'm just adding pieces. I'm adding some pool for,
Starting point is 00:23:15 I'm adding some furniture by a pool. Maybe I get an end table. Something like that, Ocho. I ain't really, a whole new house. That's a good. that's a good that's a good analogy i like that and so that's that's that's anthony richison he's got to improve to the point that they just add pieces around him you don't want to be the repeat the uh the piece that gets replaced it's not a good thing first first first first
Starting point is 00:23:44 oh cho this weekend yeah it's unbelievable tell me about to take your time now take a time obviously i went through this i experienced this uh 14 years ago in 2011 and and it was a unbelievable i mean it was a great honor but this one topped it yes this one topped it because of the significance of it what my brother meant to me and ocho to be in that nitsky luncheon on Friday and here Rod Woodson and here Niels Williams and here Daryl Green and some of the defensive players be it
Starting point is 00:24:23 Richard Dent and Johnny Randall say man this was long overdue for your brother to hear them say that because I already knew it you're preaching to the choir I sing up here every Sunday so you I ain't new to the
Starting point is 00:24:39 I ain't in the congregation I ain't new to the congregation I'm here I'm backing you up every week so I know what he is I know what he was and to see him finally get that recognition and to my mom you know there'll be other moms that have sons in the pro football
Starting point is 00:24:56 of fame but they won't be first to have my sister and my coach who coached both of us coaching my entire family my kids there my sister-in-law and my niece Susan and Summer there to witness that
Starting point is 00:25:12 and to experience that old show man look here And that's a great feeling, boy. Man, Ocho, man, I can't, it's hard for me to describe Ocho. And I knew I would be emotional. Even though I had already, you know, I was his presenter and I had already done my part video. So I had did that a couple of weeks before. And so I thought, but the more he talked, more he talked. And when he says, I only have a couple of minutes left.
Starting point is 00:25:44 but the last couple of minutes I won't I want I want you you got to come up here yeah yeah when he called and when he called me to the stage and I had no idea what he was going to say he you know he didn't write anything down he was the only one that didn't have notes he didn't have anything he said I'm just going to speak from the heart yeah that's how you know that's pretty much how he does all his speaking and to hear him say that everything he did was for an audience of one. He didn't care what you wrote about him. He didn't care what you said about him.
Starting point is 00:26:24 None of that matter. Because the only person that he wanted to impress was me. Everything that he did was because of me. And to hear him says, you know, you can't lead without following. and to hear him because it's almost like I'm like it's replaying the very the very words and how I felt about him right how I feel about him and to hear him say that and to know the relationship that he and I have
Starting point is 00:27:03 and I think people got an opportunity to see that on full display even on Friday night at the Gold Jacket presentation when you know you walk the gauntlet, you go through all the Hall of Famers and we had almost a record Joe, we had 111 members back now, mind you, of 382, my brother is the 382nd member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Starting point is 00:27:23 and if I'm not mistaken, I think there are 181 living members. Right, okay. So that means they're over, they're 200, 201 that are no longer with us. Yeah. Talking to Bobby Bell this morning, getting on the plane, he's 115.
Starting point is 00:27:39 there's only six with a lower number than him that's still remaining so and then you know seeing all that but to be there and to experience it Ocho my brother's really not an emotional guy
Starting point is 00:27:55 like I said I think I'm only a handful of times and like you said when when Papa died he didn't cry when when dad when daddy died he didn't cry when granny passed he didn't cry but to be in his presence and to know what this moment meant to him
Starting point is 00:28:15 right my brother don't let a whole lot of things bothering and but to be around emotional because I know it better than anybody yeah I know it better than anybody I know what this moment meant to him I know what he felt
Starting point is 00:28:32 my supposed to say hell I thought he was going to pick you up off the floor at the gold jacket ceremony. Right, right. I said, yeah, throw his back out in the process. But Ocho, man, to see how he was walking around
Starting point is 00:28:48 and to see the love and the kudos that he was getting from those other gold jacket wears and the members and at his party and to have the bust and to have his family. Because we don't get, like I said, Ocho, we don't get together much.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And I said, bro, we got to do a better job of that. Yeah. I say, look, when you really cut it down to, I say, us is me, you, mama, and Libby, my kids, and, you know, Susan and someone said, we got to do a better job, bro. Right. We got to do a better job. I said, you know, theoretically, mom could I still outlive us long, but come on, we can do a better job than what we've been doing. But, Ocho, that was, that was the crown of achievement there. Ain't nothing top in that.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Ain't nothing topping that, oh, because there's, there's, if you play a sport to go into your sports heaven, and that's what the Hall of Fame is. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Be it baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, rock and roll Hall of Fame. If you go into your professions, heaven,
Starting point is 00:29:58 that's what the Hall of Fame is. When you get there, okay. Yeah. Okay. Now, that's it. That's it. And, man, I cried.
Starting point is 00:30:09 I've been up all night. The love and the respect that was shown to my brother. Man, Ocho. Yeah, I already listen. You got, boy, I already know. I already know. I mean, I've been doing so much stuff. I'm like, well, damn.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I'm looking at my feet. I'm like, well, damn. Did you go to sleep? You post in the middle of the night? Because every time, collab, collab, collab, post, post, post,
Starting point is 00:30:42 I'm like, what damn. Listen, somebody sent me something. They didn't have your information. You saw it's photo gallery I sent you? Uh-uh. You should send me something?
Starting point is 00:30:50 Hey, man, no, this was a few days ago, remember? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Yeah, yeah, I do. Yeah, they didn't have your information shoot. They sent me the whole photo gallery. Oh, man. it's, it's, that moment, bro, and, you know, riding in the parade and everybody, because it was the Packers, the Packers traveled really well and to see some of his teammates because I don't know if you noticed, Ocho, when he sat down with me, I didn't know this at the time.
Starting point is 00:31:16 I didn't. I didn't, I didn't know. He never shared this. And so what he said on, on the pod was the first time. Right. And when he had his neck surgery, no one called him. Mm. Not a teammate, not a coach, not a front office.
Starting point is 00:31:30 we call hell getting him to accept them doing this party. Right. I said, because what I told him, I said, now you have to understand the people that's in place now were in place then. Right. I said, now, I'm not saying that your anger
Starting point is 00:31:51 isn't warranted. I said, but in this situation is misplaced. Right. The people that you should be upset with they weren't there. Yeah, they long gone. They were there. And I didn't know, like I said, Ocho, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:32:08 I did, Ocho, the man, there's a chance that he could have been paralyzed. Yes, sir. From neck down, he could have been a quadriplegic. Now, mind you, his last season, he still has tied for the third most receiving touchdowns in a single season, and he never played another season. So he goes under the knife. and not no not just imagine oh cho you go through a surgery that you could be paralyzed or worse the owner a coach a teammate not even tj not carson not the general manager not your head coach not even you jack no one calls you and checks on you shit boy listen
Starting point is 00:32:57 that tells you all you need to all you need to know though you hear me so think about the people you just name think about the people you just name nothing is even wrong with me and everybody you just name I talk to at least three three times a month
Starting point is 00:33:13 mind you I am of no value to Marvin Lewis anymore I'm of no value to Hugh Jackson anymore hell TJ me and TJ we in a group chat with about 20 bangles so that's a constant a constant you know
Starting point is 00:33:29 form of communication but that that would hurt so bad it did it bothered the people that I went to war with the people that I'm playing for not giving me a call with the extent of my injury
Starting point is 00:33:43 with a chance I could be paralyzed and I can't play ball anymore and nobody reached out not a flower not a motherfucking card I'm sorry so I think that that that bothered him the most.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Yeah. And he still, I was like, bro, you know, and he's, he's finally, like, letting it go. Right. Because my brother, you know, he, you know, he's, he don't hit you over the head with it. Right. But carries his Bible. He goes to church. He reads the scripture.
Starting point is 00:34:16 So he's, and so he's learned, Ocho, that I've got to let this go. He says, I can't be what I'm proclaiming to be if I still have this in my heart. Yes, sir. And so, but it was, it was tough for him. I'm number 267. He's member 382. I think they said over 30,000 men have played this game, coached this game, own the team, been a general manager.
Starting point is 00:34:49 30,000. 382 men have a gold jacket. They said over 300, what, 300 million men have played the game of football. Let that sink in on your 300 million. Oh, yeah. So my mom, my mom was like, I got two boys. I probably need to scan.
Starting point is 00:35:14 I might have another son out there somewhere. I say, you don't. You ain't got another son. You ain't got another daughter. I promise you. This is all you got. You got what you got. Daddy, hey, you told Daddy's shop was closed after me.
Starting point is 00:35:32 You say, hey, when they ask you, they say, Papa asks you, say, well, Alice, what you want? Dad, I don't give a damn if it's a lizard. I'm done. So, you got what you got, Mama. That's it. But she was happy. My coach, Coach Hall, like I said, you know, he was there.
Starting point is 00:35:56 coached all my uncles. My uncle started, started graduating high school in 1966. I graduated 86. Yeah. He taught for 50 years and having him there. But, Ocho, I don't know if you saw this. I know you couldn't pick it up. But at the Gold Jacket ceremony, what they did, they started doing,
Starting point is 00:36:17 I don't know when they started it. This is my first time back since 2019, is that obviously you walked the gauntlet. So you had four guys to walk this way. two guys walk that way and you got all the Hall of Fame and they give you, hey, congratulations, welcome to the fraternity, welcome to the brotherhood. Then you get up on stage
Starting point is 00:36:33 and then I was really the only presenter that was actually there. Right. Dean Spanos who presented no, his dad. His dad was yeah, his dad was there. I think his dad was there. Jared Allen's dad was there. Put the coat on him. Marcus put the code on Eric Allen
Starting point is 00:36:52 and then L.T. Ledain and Thomason put it on Gates. Antonio Gates. But anyway, and so, you know, they come up, they bring your family out, they bring,
Starting point is 00:37:00 let your kids, your wife come up, your kids come up, your mom, blah, X, Y, and Z. So Jared Allen, yeah,
Starting point is 00:37:07 family, Jared Allen families comes up there and everybody, he's excited, you know, his wife, he's excited,
Starting point is 00:37:12 the girls come running to him. I think one of the kids, one of his daughter's had on cowboy boots. So he's cowboy, but anyway, you know, he got his signature,
Starting point is 00:37:20 his signature move, Ocho, you know what he do? He cap rope, he'd go down on one knee, yeah, Hit the cab, tie it up and, whoa, wow. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:37:29 He'd go down on one knee, can't rope that thing. Yeah. Split his pants. So where I am, I can see. Right. I think he ripped his pants. Right. From the back of his knee all the way up to the top of his belt.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Yeah. Yeah. So now they got to rush over, they got to rush over because the hotel is really close by where they were staying. They got to rush over get a police escort and get him a pair of pants because, you know. Hey, that's funny.
Starting point is 00:38:03 That's funny. There's a clip out there and I know we didn't get a chance to vet it and we don't know who it belongs to, but there's the clip out there and you can see him. He grabbed the back
Starting point is 00:38:13 and he grabbed, at first I thought he had tweeted. I said, damn, you'd tweet your hamstring. You don't do no? You know? But then as he started to move, I was like, nah, bro. You ripped him. and he really did.
Starting point is 00:38:25 But it was great to see, like I said, I know Gates. Gates, Gates, my guy, like a little brother to me. And to see, played against Eric Allen. I played against EA in Philly and when he was at the Raiders because he was chasing me in the end zone. And who else? Jared Allen. Jared retired.
Starting point is 00:38:43 He came to Kansas City the year I retired. And, uh, who else? EA Gates. That was it. No, who else? Oh, yeah, my, obviously played against my brother twice. But, oh, Ocho, it was unbelievable. They're doing so much.
Starting point is 00:38:58 They're building it up now. They're trying to do more for the players that are in the Hall of Fame. Right. But it's an unbelievable. It's an unbelievable experience. And, uh, who, that's dope. That's loud. I don't know what I did to deserve all this, what you've done for my family.
Starting point is 00:39:16 But I appreciate it. The biggest news of the day, Ocho, the Browns have released their depth chart. Joe Flacco. I told you. I told you. QBee one. Kenny Pickett. Two.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Dylan Gabriel. Three. Chedura Sanders. Five. Excuse me. Four. But they did bring in because two of the four quarterbacks are injured. Hamstring.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Kenny Pickett and Dylan Gabriel. And a few hours ago, this is what Adam Schepter tweeted. The Browns are signing Tyler Snoop Huntley, who spent part of last season with Cleveland with Kenny Pickett, Dylan, Dillon Gabriel, nursing hamstring injuries, and Shadour Sanders having a sore shoulder, the Browns need another arm. Enter Huntley. Yes, sir. Talk to me. What are the Browns doing?
Starting point is 00:40:08 I don't know what they're doing. We don't know what they've done the last 35. Do they know? Are we sure they know what they're doing? Have they known what they've doing since that franchise has been established? Have they figured it out yet? because the last good quarterback, no disrespect to the quarterbacks that are played for Cleveland Brown, the last one that has been of decency has been Bernie Kozart, if I'm not mistaken.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Yeah, that's in mid-80s, though. Mid-80s, though. Okay, well, there you go. There you go. That's no disrespect to any of the quarterbacks that have played there, but it is what it is. We talk about consistency. Have we had one for a decade that we've been able to lean on and build around? You had a couple of years, you got a couple of years of Baker, but outside of that, no.
Starting point is 00:40:52 No disrespect. Come on, man. Come on, man. So how do we... And that's the problem that you have, oh, Joe. I was supposed to trust this organization when it comes to choosing quarterbacks at a position when they haven't figured it out
Starting point is 00:41:03 all these years. All of a sudden, now they got all the motherfuck... Excuse me. Now they got all the sense. They're supposed to have all the sense now. The death charge to me, I'm going to let you go. The death chart to me doesn't mean anything. We know Joe Flackham would do
Starting point is 00:41:17 when the lights come on. Kenny Pickett had this opportunity when he would draft to the Steelers. So we've seen the sample side of that already. I mean, no disrespect to him. He's not the answer. Dylan Gabriel has success at Oregon when the lights come on. But it's a different ball game in the NFL with them grown men that got miles to feed.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Everyone should get an ample chance to win their starting position. We already know who quarterback one is going to be. We know who that's going to be. The debt chart doesn't mean anything. What they trying to do is they're trying to break young bull. They're trying to break him, huh? That's all it is. From the draft process, they're getting drafted in the fifth round to the owner coming out and saying,
Starting point is 00:41:51 what you said last week to now. Man, come on with that bulljad, man. I don't see how Kenny Pickett still remains number two. He hadn't practiced since the 26th of July, if I'm not mistaken. So he's been dealing with a hamstring injury. But when you go out and sign somebody in free agency, I mean, I guess that does tell you they do think highly of him because they signed him. Dylan Gabriel, he's dealing with a hamstring.
Starting point is 00:42:21 I guess the worst thing that happened is that we could have found out because had both of those guys been injured, we head into the first preseason game and only Flacco and Shadour is healthy. Now, it remains to see, to be seen how much Joe Flacco is going to play. If he plays, I'm thinking maybe a series, Ocho, that's top. Let's be generous and say a series. Now that was going to be Shadour opportunity to basically take us home. on. We saw Tray Lance.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Tray Lance started the game and played what, deep into the fourth quarter, hell he might have finished the game. With that being said, uh, the worst thing that could possibly happen, happen for the Browns is that the two quarterbacks that you probably is counting on, they both got hurt. Most definitely.
Starting point is 00:43:10 And they got hurt early. Now, we'll see how soon, um, it remains to be seen. I think I said, uh, last night they played Thursday. They played Thursday Friday. Is it Friday? Okay, they play Friday against the Panthers. Three more days.
Starting point is 00:43:27 I'm excited. Is your door going to play? Yes, he doesn't have a choice. This is part of his resume. But what if he had? I mean, clearly they don't feel that confident because if they thought you were going to be able to go, would they have brought a fifth quarterback in on Joe?
Starting point is 00:43:47 Yeah, they had to bring somebody else in because Kenny Pickett's probably not going to play. especially with a hamston injury, the game is I don't think either one, I don't think two and three don't play. So definitely, definitely he's going to play. Listen, listen, the eye in the sky doesn't lie, and they need to do her to put what he can on tape.
Starting point is 00:44:04 They need to, what are we going to get? What did we draft? All the work we put in, obviously going against offense and defense in practice, that don't mean nothing. Well, you don't expect to get, Ocho, how long you expect the $500 car to last? Think about where they drafted him now. now clearly they ain't put a whole lot of resources behind it no so they're not
Starting point is 00:44:25 let's let let let up you know what oh cho you know what we do here on nightcare come on talk to me now chat you know when you go by what we used to call what i was growing up we call it second hand when you go buy something secondhand and you spend 500 or you spend a thousand dollars and as is no warranty you're not expecting my okay hopefully get me from point A to point B. They drafted Shadour in the fifth round. They're not expecting much of Shador. They didn't because if they thought that much of him,
Starting point is 00:44:58 they'd have drafted him higher. If they thought that much of him, they would have given him a fair opportunity. But that's not what they've done. And I'm not, look, that's their organization. They run it how they see fit. But I don't know, people in Cleveland, I don't know how you would still have trust
Starting point is 00:45:17 in this organization, considering how many quarterbacks and every quarterback they say, oh, he's franchised, he's franchised. You said that with Derek Anderson and you said that before him and you said that after him. Baker got injured and you moved on from him.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Now, Baker didn't have the weapons that he has in Tampa. I don't think Baker's like, oh, my God, hang on, wish I could have stayed in Cleveland. The weather's a lot nicer in Tampa and there's no state income tax and he has a great support system around him.
Starting point is 00:45:48 With all that, and said, I don't think I don't think it's much like, boy maybe they bet against him. Listen, it happens all the time.
Starting point is 00:46:00 I don't want to if I, if you do it, how does that make me look? If you do it looks well, Ojo? Wait, he can go to, he can, oh, excuse me. The adversity and the obstacles
Starting point is 00:46:12 that young bullers had to over endure in general. He's been preem and pre- pre-bepped for this. He's been prepped for this Oh, they're against me Since he got drafted When he dropped in the fifth round
Starting point is 00:46:24 He already knew what time it was When your opportunity gets there When you get your opportunity You have no choice but to shine You have no choice They're betting against him not to do well Right But if you want me to win the race
Starting point is 00:46:40 Ocho you got to put me on a fair bread Like everybody else You can't give me a Klisdell If they go win this race Let me ask you this when he is in the game, is he going to get the first team offensive line? Uh-uh.
Starting point is 00:46:54 Because that's what, when they want to give you a serious look, Ocho, you and I both played this game for a long period of time. When they want to give a receiver a serious look, they let him run with the ones. They don't contensely see what he can do with the twos and threes. They give him a fair opportunity with the ones, the number one quarterback, the number one offensive line, and the other one receivers on the opposite side of him.
Starting point is 00:47:17 quarterbacks when they are running backs when they really want to see what you can do they let you run with the one the number one o line and normally when they pull the offensive line out guess who else coming out quarterback because the quarterback the starting quarterback is not going to be in there with the twos and threes the starting running back is not going to be in there with the twos and threes so i'm going to be very interesting to see it is the first preseason game and given the way the preseason is done now Starters don't normally play. They don't normally play, and they don't play much.
Starting point is 00:47:54 So Chadour is going to have to make wine with the water that he, the whale water that he's been given. He's not been giving purified water. He's not been given bottle water. So he's going to have to make do it what he has. This is the good thing, though. The car that he's dealt on Friday night when he enters that game, regardless of what's surrounding him,
Starting point is 00:48:16 he's going to make something happen when he does make something happen when he's able to make something out of nothing and there's no disrespect to the twos and the threes and the fours that are trying to make that team everybody out there buying for a job for sure but you and I both know Ocho
Starting point is 00:48:32 they're only about five jobs up for grab they know they know within 40 guys 41 guys who's going to be on that rocker listen they don't know they don't know yet because what they're planning on and what they're trying to do whatever it may be, when he gets his opportunity,
Starting point is 00:48:49 all they got to do with not to go down. I don't care what you put around me. I'm going to show you, I'm going to get the job done. So imagine if I can get out there and cut up on Friday with threes and fours and twos at my helm,
Starting point is 00:49:00 what's the thing going to happen when I got the ones? Which thing going to happen when I got Judy, huh? And Joku, and the rest of the boys at my disposal,
Starting point is 00:49:10 as my weaponry. If I can do this with my threes and fours and twos out here, and a preseason in the game. All he's done, all his life is win, huh? That's all he's done.
Starting point is 00:49:21 So now you put me in this situation, a little obstacle, a lot of adversity. All right, I've been here before. I got this. I've been here before. I got this. Yeah. I agree with Jocho.
Starting point is 00:49:37 I mean, he's never had a situation like this. You don't know what you could over to come until you're faced with it. Got thawking, man, with my pen. Oh, that's a good one. Let me write that down. Because strength is... Don't go too fast, man.
Starting point is 00:49:54 I got to write that down. I'm going to put that in my notes. Hold on. Because, oh, your hair's the thing. See, strength is not what you possess. Strength is overcoming something that you didn't think you could. See, a lot of people thinking, well, I can lift this, or I can do that. That is not strength.
Starting point is 00:50:10 Strength is overcoming something you didn't think you could. He's never. been in this situation before he's been the best and now he's going to have to that strength that his father has instilled him his father is very biblical his father is very into the church is into the word all those words that his father has been preaching to him for a lifetime it will be put to the test say like when the devil told judge yeah of course god he's going serve you. You give him everything. Look at the family.
Starting point is 00:50:47 Look at the livestock that you have. Look at what you blessed him with. Why would he not serve you? Remove the hedge and he'll curse his very maker. Shadour has had abundance of everything.
Starting point is 00:51:05 He had a dad that had resources to get him that opportunity to go learn and study under Tom Brady to get him throwing coaches and to put him the best situations now you can call on that
Starting point is 00:51:20 to recall what Tom said this and this guy said that and do this do that but at the end of the day when you fall on your knees now because see that's what faith is
Starting point is 00:51:39 is believing even though you can't see it you see man says show me and i'll trust you god says trust me and i'll show you you see the difference between the two won't you yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah sure sure sure sure the people in that rely on his faith because at this time that's all he has and i'm not so sure that he's not the only one that has it because I'm not so sure the people in that building have faith in him. Listen, the people in the building, you ain't got to worry about that.
Starting point is 00:52:18 You don't have to worry about that. At the end of the day, if they don't want you, if they don't want you, let me, let me put on film, let me put on film. It's what you got to do. At the end of the day, regardless of what they do, regards to where I am on a debt chart, I have a job to do. And I'm going to do it to the best of my ability, regardless of what you put out there on the field with me on Friday.
Starting point is 00:52:40 At the end of the day, it's still football. We've been all been playing football season. Cream will rise to the top. Hey, the crick, man, you just took the word right out my mouth. I was, I was, I should be able to say that. I've been in Shudor, see, I was Shudor Sanders before Shandah's just at a different position. I know what it's like. I went to a team that just went to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Although they got drubbed, they brought every receiver back. Mark Jackson, Vance Johnson, Rick and Attille, Michael Young. They only keep in five receivers and four of the guys that went to the Super Bowl are back. They're back. He's going to be out of them. So we got, they bring in four and five other receivers. Shannon Sharms is a seventh rounder.
Starting point is 00:53:29 I know that, but I'm supposed to be a cat body. But what you expect out of me and what I expect out of me are two different things. I don't let you set my agenda. I don't let you set my expectation. I see you. That's how Shadur has to think. I know what you're playing.
Starting point is 00:53:51 I know, hey, in life, when Ray told Claude, he'd say, I know you're thinking something. You got something up your sleeve. I know you got something brewing. I ain't got nothing, Ray. I got an ass cutting for your brewing. Chodor just needs to be Shadour. He doesn't have to be Shadour.
Starting point is 00:54:08 he doesn't have to be any he doesn't have to be anything else other than that and and that's good enough his best is good enough he doesn't have to be extraordinary this is now the NFL it is the league remember that movie the league of extraordinary gentlemen there are a lot of extraordinary gentlemen in this league a lot of them but that ain't what he has to beat out and that's no disrespect to him let's just let's be realistic they take it how they want to i'm just saying it joe flack over the year 18 and he's way past his prime mm-hmm can he picket hey we'll see he's hurt can't make the club in the tub Dylan gabriel he's hurt I'm telling he was going to happen hey one thing about it one thing one one thing about the football gods you hear me one thing about the football gods when they know when
Starting point is 00:55:04 they know, especially it's funny business going on, the way they're moving. Cream always rise to the top. That's it. I don't care what you put around me. I'm going to make it work. I'm going to make it to do it. Listen, when you go to the casino and they deal
Starting point is 00:55:21 you them goddamn cars, you can't control what you dealt. You got to play the hand you dealt. You've got to play the hand you dealt. You got to play it to the best of your ability. That's it. That's all they got to do. Go out there with just straight, straight confidence. This is my team. You got to walk it.
Starting point is 00:55:37 You got to play like it. You got to walk in that stadium like you own it. You got to. Oh, I see the game y'all playing. Okay, bet. Let me show you stuff. Yeah. And it's not easy.
Starting point is 00:55:50 Because I don't want people to fake that. Oh, he, you never. Yes, yes. There were, there were nice that I would go to bed and I'm asking myself, am I good enough? Man, I only got three plays. And I ain't catch a pants. So if I'm a receiver, how am I getting judged?
Starting point is 00:56:08 Yeah, by everything else. You do as a quarterback. He don't get no reps. How is he getting judged? Okay, I caught one point. I called it. I called it. And it's like, man, is it, man, I had this great career at Glenville.
Starting point is 00:56:26 I had a great career in Savannah State. And now I'm here. In my mind, I'm like, what person doesn't think that he's better than, some of the people that he's going again. It wasn't like I was, I wasn't going against a Hall of Fame receivers. It wasn't Jerry. I wouldn't,
Starting point is 00:56:43 it wasn't Jerry Rice and my brother and Chris Carter and all those guys out there. That was how I was going to have to try to win time from. But I, look, it gave me confidence that John Elway told me I could play in this league. He thought I had the ability to play. It helped me a lot with Mark Jackson would tell,
Starting point is 00:57:04 would legitimately tell me what I needed to do. But yeah, I'm fighting for a job, and we fighting for a job, and the guy told me the wrong route. I didn't know it was the wrong route. I went in there and ran it. Dare read chewed my ass out. Did you do it full speed, though?
Starting point is 00:57:21 Hey, ask me what the hell. I'm running the route. Hey, I'm slow. I just knew I read the right, right. Right, right. Hey, nice slap. arm or rib that try to, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:57:35 Oh, Joe. I hit it right quick because, you know, back then you spent too much time dancing in the line of scrimmage they're going to come up through your face mask. So, hey, plant, chop, I'm over.
Starting point is 00:57:46 He blowing it with something like, damn. I ain't but halfway through my route, oh, Cho. What are he blowing the rest of them for? Let me get this rock and do something on it. Shanna Sharp, what the hell are you doing? You know, me, old smart.
Starting point is 00:58:00 I'm thinking to myself, where the hell it looked like I do it, running that route. what you got on such a second I thought I got what can I say somebody told me the wrong route you're supposed to know what the head
Starting point is 00:58:15 you're supposed to do anyway that's a let's learn let's learn let's throw away Joe I'm trying to get a job absolutely
Starting point is 00:58:24 and if I can remove you out of the way to make my opportunity to get this job easier guess what I'm going to do do. I am going to remove you. Call removing the competition. We know it. We hear all about the drug, what they try to do,
Starting point is 00:58:41 take over somebody's territory. You try to expand the territory. It doesn't matter how. I just need to expand. I just to make sure. So he's trying to remove me. I run the wrong route. Hey, let me, hey, never ask again. But you know what? And Mayor Porter used to say, God don't like ugly. Sometimes he don't like pretty.
