In this episode, Dan shows tips on how to believe in yourself more in order to create more results and be more productive. Learn more about these tips in this new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode. All right. 11 ways to believe in yourself. All right. So sales can be stressful. And because
Starting point is 00:01:23 sales can be stressful, how do you believe in yourself? So in sales, you may often have setbacks. And the more success that you desire, the greater your chances of having failures. So when we fail, I want you to consider, we can reframe that failure as a setback or a loss of an opportunity. And you have the chance to be able to choose. So, you know, when you fail, it's like, hey, that sucks. That's a failure or that's an opportunity to learn.
Starting point is 00:01:54 So what I want you to do right now is I want you to write down when was a time in your sales career that you failed? I want you to look at that failure you just wrote down. And I want you to rewrite it as a time that you learned. All right, so we can learn from your missteps. We can bounce back and persist towards achieving your goal. So now I want you to look at transforming your limiting beliefs. So negative emotions such as self-doubt, fear, and worry are often closely associated with how we think about ourselves based on our life experience.
Starting point is 00:02:25 And I want you to ask yourself a very critical question. What did you believe that caused you to feel this way? All right. Number three, love thyself. So you have strengths and you have weaknesses that are actually often just behavior. And oftentimes they're the same. What I want you to do right now is I want you to write down three traits that you love about yourself. All right, let's go on to number four. So we already know that our programming leads to our thoughts. Our thoughts lead to our feelings. Our feelings lead to our actions. Our actions lead to the results.
Starting point is 00:02:58 And the results lead back into our programming. So I'll give you five ways today that you can change your programming. Those are meditations, affirmations, visualizations, exercise, and reading. Now, there's more than just those five, but those are just five just so I can be precise today that I give you. But typically, for me, I do these activities first thing in the morning. However, if I complete three out of five, I consider myself a success. So my question to you is, of those five or another, it doesn't have to be one of those five. Of course, it could be anything that you think is going to inspire you.
Starting point is 00:03:40 What's one habit that you'll implement starting tomorrow morning? Number five, surround yourself with supportive people. I want you to ask yourself, who's one person in your life that makes you feel good about yourself? And write that person's name down. Who's one person in your life that makes you feel good about yourself? And write that name down. And now I'm going to give you a yes or no question. Will you commit to spending an extra hour with that person this week? Number six, create a board of directors in your mind. I've got a board of directors in my mind that I seek counsel from when I need advice. And for example, I've sometimes been in life where, whether it be sales or business or my personal life, where I've been in a situation where I'm like, here's a battle. I know I'm not going to win.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I don't see any way to win this battle. And if I've really deliberately thought of the different ways to be able to approach it, and I see no way, then often I'll ask Sun Tzu, who's the author of The Art of War, what do I do? General, he's an ancient Chinese general, by the way. And I know what he would say to me is, well, don't fight the battle, Dan, because if you're going to lose, skip it. So who is somebody who you would like to know about?
Starting point is 00:04:53 And then I'm going to ask another yes or no questions. Will you buy a book or an audio book about that person's biography or autobiography? Now I've got another question. Will you seek counsel from that person in your mind in the future when you need help? Number seven, stop comparing. If you've ever noticed yourself thinking about somebody, and maybe you'd be somebody that you don't even know, and thinking, I don't like that person. You're not really saying I'm jealous of what they have, but that's actually what you're saying. You're most likely comparing your insides with their
Starting point is 00:05:23 outsides. Well, here's the reality of it. Their Facebook reel is not who they are. Their Facebook reel is who they want you to believe that they are. But everybody has flaws. So I want you to ask yourself a question. Who's a person who you do not like for no good reason? So what's a trait about that person
Starting point is 00:05:40 that you could appreciate? Number eight, face your fears. You consist of 37.2 trillion selves. When you consider the magnificence of you, and when you consider that your mind is infinite, and when you understand that you can assign meaning to anything, and when you know that you are a spiritual being in a human manifestation, I hope that you can then realize that you can be fearful of something and take action anyways, because you are so magnificent. And the paradox is you're also so insignificant. So simultaneously, you are magnificent and insignificant.
Starting point is 00:06:22 And I believe that when you recognize that, you will embrace fear in a different capacity. Number nine, know why you're doing what you're doing. Hopefully you've done this exercise with me before. Why are you in sales? From the lowest denominator, from the no BS. When I started sales, I was in sales, so I never went back to wait tables again. I didn't want to be a waiter. Why are you in sales and what's important to you about that? So continue asking yourself, even if that's to be after today's conversation, what's important to me about that? What's important to me about that?
Starting point is 00:06:57 And what's important to me about that? Until you come to a place of something that sings to your heart. You'll know when you get there. And when you get there, that's going to be your new compass. Number 10, learn a new skill. When you acquire a new knowledge, you develop new faith in yourself, new belief in yourself. And then answer the question, what action will you do today about that desire to learn that skill? Number 11 is take action today.
Starting point is 00:07:26 So once you answer the question, what is something that you've been putting off doing that you want to do? Be personal, professional, whatever it may be. What's one thing that you've been putting off that you want to do that you've not yet done? And then after you wrote down one thing that you've been putting off to do,
Starting point is 00:07:43 so what's one thing you've been putting off doing that you want to do and what will you do about it? Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show, I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone, have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
