approach sales you remember the time that you left home the first night staying in that house for me it was in the army for me i remember you know again
i had i i was don't catch this i was 18 years old and i basically i didn't run away right
literally figuratively but i had to leave home for safety i went into the army to find safety
from the existence that I had.
Like, it didn't even occur to me until I said that out loud.
It was just like relatively recently.
Like six months ago, I was teaching and I'm talking about, you know, when I was leaving home and I said, hey, I needed to get some safety.
I was talking to my therapist about this.
I'm like, I needed to go and I needed to be safe.
So I went into the army.
A little bit of bizarreness there, I think. Right. But anyways,
so that was my first night out. All right.
But do you remember your first night that you, when you left home,
when you began your adult life, you remember that, you know,
the emotions that you had bubbling up inside of you.
Right. You know, it was some of it was excitement. Some of it was fear.
But you were ready to take that leap, whether you knew it or not, you were taking a leap.
We all one day, I think most of us, maybe some of us are still living at home.
But most of us took that first day where we were out on our own and we're like all right now it's on me and what did you do you went and bought coffee mugs at least that's what i did right you know you're like oh my goodness i need towels i need whatever well
being a salesperson can be really really unsettling being a salesperson can feel like that first night on your own.
All right. Because it's like, you don't know what's in the future. You don't know.
I don't know what's in the future for me. Like even today, I've got faith in the future, but I don't know what's in the future. And so the actions today that you do produces the results for tomorrow as a salesperson, as an entrepreneur, as a business person.
And often it can be scary, just like that first night on your own, but it can also be exciting.
So when I started teaching, when I started coaching, when I started mentoring business people, I would teach entrepreneurs to believe in themselves.
But I realized after teaching that, that it was too vague.
When I would just say, hey, when you believe in yourself, you're going to get what you want.
What I realized was that I had to give people, give you, what is it that you have to believe in, specifically.
And what I discovered was, when you can believe that you can figure it out,
then you have the power to not let those demons, the sense of unworthy, the sense of,
I don't know what the heck to do, the sense of,
man, I'm screwed. You don't have to let those demons overcome you. Okay? Because when you
realize that you have the power to figure it out, now you can have the safety. Now you can have the safety now you can have the security now you can have the peace within
yourself to say you know what i don't know what that future is just like that first night out
i'm excited but i'm scared but i know i can freaking figure this out
so when you have the belief in yourself that you can figure this out, your world transforms.
