I want to give you a tool that you can choose to use.
It's what we teach in normal linguistic programming called the as-if frame.
And so the as-if frame is when you act as if you've already achieved whatever it is that you want to achieve.
Then you become that person who's going to achieve that, whatever it is that you want to achieve.
So if you want to be a top selling salesperson, if you want to be the best husband, wife, spouse, partner, if you want to be the best business owner, entrepreneur,
and you act as if you were the best entrepreneur, as if you were that successful person, as if you were that all-loving husband or all-loving wife or partner, when you act as if you already have the qualities and the actions of that person,
then guess what? You become that person. Now, you got in a business to gain money and to gain
freedom, but you had no idea how freaking hard this was going to be.
And the anxiety that I've explained and that I've expressed to you throughout this conversation is what really gets in your way. And in the realm of sales, what you've got to believe in
is that you have the ability to be able to figure it out and then act as if.
But let's go backwards.
What caused me throughout those years to be able to have that lingering belief,
even though that was in my childhood, but what caused me to not leave it in my childhood?
I'm Dan.
Danny was that kid.
I called Danny my inner child.
What caused Danny to sometimes sabotage Dan?
What holds him back?
Well, what I want you to consider is, have you ever heard about elephants?
You know, like when the circuses as the elephants get trained
well when they're a little baby elephant the elephant uh they tie them up to a stake
okay and you know as a little baby elephant they can't move from that stake
all right but then as the elephant grows older and older and bigger and bigger
they still tie them to that stake but But guess what? That elephant could easily just, boom,
could lift up that stake and move out, right?
But that stake, that rope that ties that elephant to that stake,
that's the same as your limiting beliefs.
That's the same as my limiting beliefs were.
And, you know, I'm sure I still have some limiting beliefs.
But years of believing
that that elephant can't escape makes that elephant stuck forever and so just like that
elephant sometimes we let our beliefs of the past hold us back from the present and the future. What?
Just as that elephant can easily,
the adult elephant can easily pull up that stake and move on,
so can you.
But you have to believe it and you have to understand it.
You have to know that you've got the power to be able to do that.
We don't have to feel stuck like that elephant. It is essential to challenge our
limiting beliefs because they can hold us back from reaching our full potential and from achieving
our goals. And so limiting beliefs are just negative thoughts or assumptions that you have
about yourself or about the world around you. That's all that a limiting belief is, just like that rope that ties that, that holds that elephant to the stake. And these
beliefs can create self-doubt, fear, and anxiety that were created from that 10-year-old Danny.
They can also prevent you from taking risks or trying new things, or they can limit your
personal and your professional growth.
But when you can challenge your limiting beliefs, when you can identify that the negative beliefs
and negative thoughts that hold you back, and when you can identify them and then replace
them with more positive and empowering ideas and be able to build confidence and resilience
and have a growth mindset, then you'll be able to have whatever in life that you want to be able to
