Building a chain of habits you can't break. Real estate coach Dan Roshan from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents discusses habits. In this episode, Dan shares
that it is hard to build up a chain of habit, but once it is established, it is also hard to break
the chain of habit. So make sure that you build a healthy habit chain. Learn which activities you
should make a habit of in the latest No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode. I embrace habits. I'm at a high level.
And I embrace habits so much is that it's near impossible for those habits to be broken.
Every single month, I go through the same routines, the same activities.
Every single day, I go through the same routines, the same activities.
It, to me, really, really hard for me to break those chains once the habits are established.
When I was establishing the habits, they were a bitch.
I'm almost the opposite of you when it 6 a.m. for a Zoom meeting was impossible.
But then once I saw that Laura was doing it, too, it took a couple weeks.
But now, like this morning, I was up before my alarm went off.
I nuked myself a cup of coffee and ready to go.
Mindy, so the habit of waking up at six to be on a Zoom meeting,
tell us about your relationship with that now.
Now it is something that it's just, oh, Monday through Friday.
That's what I do.
Okay, perfect.
What you could do, Mindy, is you could then add on to the top of this.
So between 630 and nine, what do you do?
Do you have a habit?
I have a suggestion for one.
If you don't have it, consider going swimming.
Oh, my foot's still broken.
It's going to be healed relatively soon.
I mean, that's been a while, right?
When you're ready for that habit, would you consider doing that?
Yes, because that habit, adding that part into a habit that builds on the accomplishment
and wanting to do more. So Mindy, 6 a.m., you do 30 minutes of a power up,
30 minutes of training. 7 a.m. you go swimming.
8 a.m. you have breakfast with Tom.
9 a.m. you start lead generating.
But let's not even worry about the 9 a.m. yet.
Let's focus on building those one at a time.
You see how we stack these habits of one into the other, into the other, into the other.
And now you sort of just roll right into that lead generation.
And it's the momentum that gets you there. And then by 1130 just roll right into that lead generation. And it's the momentum
that gets you there. And then by 1130 noon, boom, you're done. Then you no longer need any habits.
Noon, now it's do whatever the heck you think you want to do.
I like that because I've been taking it. Well, I need to do the full day schedule
and have that whole day that I can do one.
If you look at that, it's like you have a habit. Once we have this up and running,
you're going to have the habit of like sort of getting up, getting your cup of coffee,
nuking it, getting something inspirational or training, then doing something for your body,
for your spirit, for your health, because you like doing it and you enjoy doing it,
then doing something else if it's appropriate, maybe having breakfast by yourself and
whatever the case may be. And then you jump into your workday for two and a half hours.
And that's it. When you build that habit, at some point it becomes so that you can't break
the chains. If you really think about it in like a stackable way,
you're so freaking close to implementing it so that once it's up and running, it can't be broken.
