Your words become your actions.
Your actions become your habits.
Your habits become your values.
Your values become your destiny.

That's Gandhi.
So there's times where I'm coaching people.
And when I recognize that they believe a certain circumstance is true.
They believe that you can't have both technology and real life communications coexist,
or you can't host an open house and be successful at it. I did an open house yesterday. I loved it.
Got no buyers, but I loved it nonetheless. And I do know if I did that two, three times a weekend,
I would have a very successful buyer's business.
Your beliefs become your thoughts.
There's some people who have a setback and then they'll think, man, I'm not good enough.
Man, I'm not worthy.
Your thoughts become your words. And so now that you are thinking, man, I'm not worthy, or maybe you're thinking, hey,
it's a great opportunity that I just learned so that I never have to do that again.
One of the most challenging times in business in my life happened about 10 years ago.
And I have zero emotions today.
But at the time of it, I had a lot of emotions.
And I was an operating partner in a
Keller Williams Realty franchise, and I fired my team leader. And so the team leader who I fired
was very polarizing, which was one of the reasons why I fired her. Very, very righteous, very, very
correct, very, very right, and very, very unwilling to be able to
consider another point of view. What I, as a leader, neglected to understand was that polarizing
behavior would hurt me. Sun Tzu says, if you know yourself and you know another,
you'll win all your battles. If you know yourself and you know another you'll win all your battles if you know yourself
and you don't know another you'll win half your battles if you don't know yourself and you don't
know another you'll win none of your battles well this was an instance where i i know myself
but i didn't know others and as a result what happened was that that polarizing leader
hit an enormous amount of people against me.
And I got an unearned negative reputation for a short period of time, medium period of time.
And it caused me financial pain.
It caused me emotional pain.
It caused me spiritual pain.
And when that occurred, I recall saying to myself, I'm so freaking grateful that I'm
learning this lesson today.
So I never have to experience it again.
So in the midst of suck, and it was suck.
And I'm saying I had about every single top agent in my brokerage leave me.
I had a lot of spitballs thrown at me.
It was suck.
It was financial.
If I didn't have six months of reserves in the bank, I would have been out of business
in that moment.
But I had a lot of reserves, so I was fine.
But my words became my reality of, I can look at this from the place of suck, or I can look
at this from a place of suck, or I can look at this from a place of
gratitude. I chose gratitude. So your belief becomes your thoughts and your thoughts become
your words. Your words become your actions. Well, in that case that I'm sharing with you,
the actions that I took was really, I didn't change anything. I just kept being myself.
I was like, you know what? I'm good with who I am. I love others. I want to
help others. I want to pour into others and I will attract the right people to me. I'm going to change
nothing. I'm not going to defend myself though. In retrospect, I probably should have. So that's
another learning opportunity that I had. Your actions become your habits. So congratulations
to me for the triathlon that I just practiced. And yes, I was hurting. And what that demonstrated to me is that I have not implemented the habit of exercising five or six times a week,
yet there's a specific exercise that you've not embraced as often as you could.
And when you do so, you'll have better results and your body will feel better.
So just pay attention to your habits because your habits become your values and your values
become your destiny.
