I've made this mistake at least three times that I know of.
I had somebody who was a self-starter, competitive, assertive, relationship-based, and learning-based,
but they weren't a team player.
And that's probably the worst hires I've made in my career, because every single person
in the organization, every single system in the organization, if somebody doesn't align
with their part, then the entire thing crashes.

Scarlet, self-starter, competitive, assertive, relationship relationship-based learning-based team player
if you are in the hiring mode the one that i've made this mistake at least three times that i
know of was i had somebody who was a self-starter competitive assertive relationship based and learning based but they weren't a team player
and that's probably the worst hire that i the worst hires i've made in my career
okay because they're really you know they're those superstars and that's what attracts you
to them or what attracted me to them but they can be incredibly disruptive to an organization
because if they're only interested in their own interest um i ain't going to get you very far all right and i see julene shaking her head because she's
been through some of that experience all right so i'm going to open this up we're going to have a
conversation longer than normal um i'm going to ask julene to share you can share some specifics
without names if you could julene go ahead so in having a team you need to have like a line post and mission and vision
so basically everything should be aligned um you will meet like someone who will have their own
goals and they're being selfish do you recall an example of that can you recall an example of that? Can you share an example of that? So like people with their own goals
and their own intentions,
you know, they would basically
just do whatever things
that they want to do
without checking if someone
will be affected in the team.
And so he's like giving instructions
outside of our scope.
And at the same time, he don't care for the people whom
he work with he just care about himself and all he will give you words that you know unimaginable
words that you can receive from a person yeah it's only words but then again like working with a team
working with different people, we have to
make sure as well that we take care of them, not just treat them as your employee. So something
like that. Let me give you a specific. So it took me about two seconds to know what you're talking
about there. Let me give you guys a specific, if I may. So we had an agent on the team one time
who was extraordinarily rude to our client care team and very, very incredibly abusive to them verbally and would would treat the team, the team members like like trash.
Right. Would that be an accurate description?
Hundred percent accurate.
And he was a high performing agenting agent, and I fired him.
But again, you have to follow systems to make that happen,
which goes back into that teamwork that's so vital within my organization.
Because every single person in the organization,
every single system in the organization,
if somebody doesn't align with their part, then the entire thing crashes.
