And I was able to gain authority in the conversation where at the very, very beginning,
he was in charge. By the end, I was in charge. And how did I do that? I did that by having the

with clients. In this episode, Dan emphasizes that one way to establish authority is by leveraging
your knowledge as a real estate agent. Learn how to gain authority in any conversation in

president will do that one guy who is it his doctor doctor so we have situational authority
clearly the president united states is you know if not the one of the most powerful people in the
world all right that's just the reality of it
and there's one person more powerful than him but only when he has to go get that exam another
example if you are a golfer you go on to the golf course pga pro in that instance they've got the
authority but outside that instance they may not, so as we understand that your authority can change based off the position.
Right. So now that you understand that, then I just gave you some pointers of how you can then gain your authority by having the knowledge.
I was having a conversation last night with a challenging prospect and he was a tremendous challenge. And I was able to gain
authority in the conversation where at the very, very beginning, he was in charge. But by the end,
I was in charge. And how did I do that? I did that by having the knowledge. Because once he realized
that I had more knowledge, he started with, I know everything real estate sales.
That's where he started.
Now, I didn't challenge him at all.
I gained the authority through knowledge and then through demonstrating the knowledge without conflicting, without confronting him.
And he punched me a couple of times and he punched me a couple of times.
And when he did that, that's where I used my NLP skills, where I just said, OK, I just kept talking.
You know, I didn't say, well, no, that's not correct.
Instead, I said, great. Thank you for talking. I didn't say, well, no, that's not correct. Instead, I said, great.
Thank you for sharing that with me.
