Starting point is 00:01:16 energy on what truly matters, leading to increased productivity and a more profound sense of accomplishment. In the new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode, tune in to take control of your destiny through the art of discipline. Time blocking. Let's have a conversation about this. Everybody here knows or has heard of time blocking as an effective way to manage, you know, to manage your life. Is that true?
Starting point is 00:01:49 All right. Yet, few people not do it? Or let me ask a better question. Who here thinks that they're really, really effective at time blocking, if anybody? Who here, if anybody, thinks that they are effective at time blocking if anybody who here if anybody thinks that they are effective at time blocking i certainly have a long i certainly have a ways to go like i can always improve but i think that it's that i have a pretty solid grasp on it i understand the importance for sure and i and i do do it but maybe i could do it better. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Well, time block is one of those things that I think is sort of black and white. Right? And the reason why I say it's sort of black and white is because to be able to time block, you have to either do it or not. Right? And it's a very, very easy thing to understand if you do it or not so the way to understand if you do it or not is do you block your time and then do you stick to whatever it is that you blocked your time for without distraction and so what you may consider is you may block your time for something but then and you may like sort of be in that area of doing something, but then
Starting point is 00:03:26 distraction gets in the way. And that distraction could be anything. It could just be like, um, you know, it could be something on the internet. It could be just a distracted thought. It could be distracted, anything. So I think, um, Ali, would you say you're good at time blocking do you time block i could get better i've started it since i've kind of been joined the cpi group but before that not so much okay every day work in progress got it all right so let's talk about time blocking. Let's talk about why we would time block. So Jocko Wilnick, who is a retired Navy SEAL.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Has anybody heard of Jocko before? Yep. He has. Lee has. In his book, Freedom. Extreme Ownership. Yeah, it's extreme ownership. In the book, the quote is that something along the lines of everybody wants freedom, yet we don't understand the connection between freedom and discipline. And so when you understand that discipline gives you freedom, then I think that's a starting point to time blocking.
Starting point is 00:04:47 So what would cause me to quote Jocko about time blocking? What do you guys think? Why do you think I would quote him in this context? Because it starts with doing it, being disciplined to do it. All right. So it starts with a discipline, total respect. I was it was extreme ownership. He may have another total respect, maybe another one. But it was extreme ownership that he quoted that in. But now that I know he has another book, I'll have to read that as well.
Starting point is 00:05:19 And so if we understand that the discipline of how we spend our time gives us freedom of time. All right. So it's a little bit of a paradox. So the discipline of the way we spend our time gives us freedom of time. Who here has ever watched me lead generate before? Okay. When I'm lead generating, if you were observing me, what would you say I'm doing? Nothing besides lead generating. Okay. So that's a discipline of time. If somebody wants to interrupt me when i'm when i'm regenerating what's the answer aretha what's the answer you ignore them
Starting point is 00:06:14 i i give you a loving i'll give you a loving side eye but here's the thing that's a discipline of time that's that's extreme time blocking and the results of that are proven so if you want to have freedom of time then you have to have the discipline to time block.
