Learn more about the lesson Dan's talking about
in this new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode.
I was very, very sneaky on you guys.
Do you guys know what this class really was?
The class was how to time block.
But guess what?
If I would have called it how to time block,
nobody would have showed up.
And those that did show up wouldn't have paid attention
because we have a, for whatever reason,
a negative relationship with the concept of time blocking, okay? And
reframe your relationship that you have with time blocking. The reality of it is, is spending,
and I say this almost every day, one to three hours daily seeking business opportunities,
five days a week, gets you consistent and predictable income, get you CPI, get you no broke months.
It is that simple. And so it really truly is that simple. So now let's look at some techniques to
remind you. All right. So step one is identify your goals. So Warren Buffett has a or had a airplane pilot called Mike Flint.
Mike Flint, once upon a time, was also the pilot for Air Force One and a famous pilot in the Air Force.
And he then went in the private sector, eventually was working for Warren Buffett.
And one day they're having a conversation and Mike had said
something to Warren and Warren said something back to him. And it's something along the lines of,
if you're still working for me five years from now, I fail, is what Warren eventually said to
Mike. And Mike says, okay, well, I feel like I'm pretty successful, but give me some guidance. I
mean, you're Warren, I'm Mike. Yeah, I'm
successful, but I'm still not Warren. And so the advice that Warren Buffett gave to Mike Flint
was Warren, or I'm sorry, was Mike, I want you to go home over the weekend. And I want you to
write down 25 things that you want to achieve in your life. Actual things, actual tangible things, not like la la land, you know, like I
want to go climb Mount Everest, unless if that is one of your things. Okay. You know, for me,
I'm never in my life going to go through whatever it takes to climb Mount Everest. I just won't do
it. Not interested. It'd be cool to do, but I don't think that that's, that's on my plate.
So write down 25 goals that you have in life.
And then you know what Warren said to do next? Cross through 20 of them and never look at them
again. Now you got five. Now let's come up with a plan to accomplish three of those five. And let's
put that plan into action. And when you're at at least 80% with one of those three, you could
choose to bring on four. And then when you're at 80% with one of those three, you could choose to bring on
four. And then when you're at 80% of one of those three, you could choose to bring on five. But
don't ever bring on six until you're at 100% of one of those five. And let's say if it was to
climb Mount Everest and you were only going to do that once and you did it, great. Now you can
remove that from your five because you 100% did it and you can add the next.
So this is the framework that Warren Buffett taught to Mike Flint.
And I read about somewhere along the lines and then I'm passing along to you to allow for us to be more focused about what we want to achieve in life.
But the mere fact that we're having this conversation right now already proves that you're further along than most others.
Because most people in life never even identify a destination, never mind having to limit it to five.
Most people in life never consider what do I want to achieve in this existence?
If you want to, I don't share very many personal viewpoints, not in this sort of way, but I'm
going to share this because I think it's appropriate.
I think that's disrespectful to not create our existence.
And that's my personal viewpoint.
I'm happy to share it, right?
You don't have to align with it.
But I fully believe that.
I fully believe that in our lives, we've been granted this miracle and we have an obligation to however we became
a part of this miracle to be able to create the life worth living.
