Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to No Broke Months for Salespeople Podcast. In this episode of the No Broke Months for Salespeople podcast, Dan Rochon shares the hard-earned leadership lessons. He's learned from years of challenges, messy experiences, and incredible wins. From setting clear expectations to removing bottlenecks, Dan reveals the habits and mindsets that turn ordinary teams into high-performing ones. If you lead people or plan to, this episode will help you grow as a leader who inspires results, not resistance. Over the years, I faced numerous challenges, messiness, and incredible successes. And each step taught me the lessons I never thought were possible. Lessons that have shaped me as a better leader.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Here's some valuable insights I want to share with you that I've gained while. leading high-performing teams and insight that can transform your leadership as well. I want you to consider when you're leading to set clear expectations because the complaint often reflects an unmet expectation. When you define the rules of engagement from the start, you'll have better results. I want you to take a stand for the greatness of those that you lead. Lead to their strengths instead of their weaknesses. and help your team recognize that their power is within themselves and help to be able to supplement your weaknesses by hiring for your faults.
Starting point is 00:01:40 I want you to listen intently. When someone disagrees, listen twice as hard. Always ask, what can I do differently? What is it for me to learn here? Respond rather than react. When challenges do arise, pause, think. choose the best solution, then act. Remove the obstacles.
Starting point is 00:02:05 You want to clear the path for your team by eliminating the bottlenecks and creating opportunities for success. And guess what? The number one bottlenecks, particularly for small teams, is you. So when you could allow for your team to have the authority to make their own decisions based off a predetermined metrics that you can agree on using your pre-decision compass, you'll be able to have greater success and clear the bottleneck. Attract top talent. You want to look for people to have a drive and a confidence and a hunger to learn.
Starting point is 00:02:42 These are the people who are going to thrive. You want to be accountable and authentic. Own the results. Good or bad. When things go wrong, take a look in the mirror. When they go right, look through the window at your team. Focus on collaboration. instead of being right.
Starting point is 00:03:00 You do not get paid to be right. You get paid to persuade. Being open to other people's perspectives fosters a collaboration and leads to better outcomes. And remember, teams thrive when gossip, incompetence, and personal ambition take a backseat
Starting point is 00:03:22 to unity, cohesion, and trust. Success happens when every team member feels heard and most importantly they feel valued. This is Dan Roshan, host of No Broke Months.
