You're listening to No Broke Months for Salespeople Podcast.
In this episode of the No Broke Months for Salespeople podcast, Dan Rochon dives into the power of
neurolinguistic programming, NLP, and how it can completely transform your sales game.
He explains how understanding subjective experience, belief systems, and mental patterns
allows you to better connect with prospects and guide them toward empowered decisions.
From the origins of NLP with John Grindr and Richard Banner,
to practical applications in real-world sales conversations.
Dan shows how mastering your mindset is the first step to influencing others.
Today I want to talk to you about something that can completely transform your sales game.
It's called Noro-linguistic programming, also known as NLP.
So NLP is a powerful tool that helps you to understand human behavior
and communication on the deepest level.
And when you teach to sell, mastering these principles can make all the difference
and how you connect with and close your clients.
So what exactly is NLP?
It was created in the 1970s by Dr. John Grindr and Richard Bandler.
And NLP helps us to understand how people think, how we make decisions, and how we process our experiences.
It explores how we form our beliefs, you know, about ourselves, about others, about the world.
And when you're in sales, understanding how people make choices is the key to motivating action.
So how specifically does NLP help you in sales?
Well, it helps you to recognize the subjective experiences and the mental patterns both you and your clients go through.
Subjective means that it's based off of judgment.
When you hear the word objective, that means, you know, I'm holding this pen up right now.
This is a pen with a pink cap.
That's objective.
we can measure that. We know that that's true.
If I say subjective, this is the prettiest pen in the entire planet.
It's based off of interpretation.
So going back to NLP, when you recognize the subjective experiences and the mental patterns for you and your clients,
then you're going to be able to know how to guide these mental models using the principles of NLP.
You're going to be able to understand what truly motivates your prospects.
and when you can tap into that, it makes leading, persuading, and closing deals so much easier.
NLP can be best understood through what we call the three principles.
That's the mind, which is the infinite wisdom that we all have.
The consciousness, so that's how we create our experiences, and the thought, which is the awareness
of the mind and the consciousness.
When you master these principles, you not only are going to understand.
yourself better but you can also anticipate how your clients are going to think and how
they're going to feel when you teach to sell knowing what drives your clients emotionally is the secret
to making a sale and making more sales you already know that we experience the world through our
five senses that's the sight sound touch taste and smell as well as language and by learning how these
sensory experiences shape your clients to see
decisions, you can create more meaningful connections and influence the choices in a way that's going to benefit both them and you.
Think about the former quarterback Tom Brady as an example.
Hopefully that you are you're aware of who he is and if you're not going to Google him, but he's like the greatest quarterback, greatest NFL player of all time.
Early in Tom Brady's career, he blamed external circumstances.
He blamed his teammates, the weather.
He blamed his coaches.
When something went wrong, guess what?
He blamed him.
But as Tom Brady grew, he ended up taking full responsibility for his actions.
And that's when he became the legend of who we know today.
Too often, in life, when something happens, we tend to blame other people for not making us happy or not making us satisfied or fulfilled.
And the point is, we all have choices.
You have choices.
I have choices.
Just like Tom Brady, when you take 100% percent.
responsibility for your interactions, your sales interactions, when you understand your power to
influence, to motivate, and to lead using NLP, you can design your own success. Teach to sell
is not just a framework. It's a way to help you shape your reality. The possibilities are
limitless, but it all starts with you making that choice. So, are you ready to harness the power
of NLP and take your sales to the next level?
If you are, keep on with this course because you're going to learn a whole lot more.
It's time for you to make the conscious choice to take control and to design the sales life that you've always wanted.
