Starting point is 00:01:26 networking superstar. Networking. Your key ingredient to networking is not in the networking event. It's in the one-on-one that you're going to set up in the networking event. So when you go to a networking event, and let's say there's 30 people there, your goal should be to find the person who you can help. That's going to be an electrician, a plumber, a painter, a carpet installation, a lender. It could be anybody who you can help in business. That's who you want to then set up a coffee with. When you set up the coffee with them, you want to ask a question. The question you want to ask them is, how can I help you? Listen to the direction. How can I help
Starting point is 00:02:14 you? And then they say how they can help you. And if you hear them at some point say, how can I help you? You got the right referral partner. If you don't hear them say that, you may not have the right referral partner and you may want to find a different carpet guy or gal. So that's the key to networking. Video. If you do video, YouTube videos, et cetera, the way to be able to be effective with video is to be community centric, not real estate centric. Real estate would be about a one to every four posts. So about every four community posts, you're going to do one real estate post. People are interested in your community.
Starting point is 00:03:02 People are interested in where you live. You become the mayor of your community, you'll attract business. If you sit there and say in your only real estate related in your video, you won't attract business. All right, because it's the difference between what somebody wants and what somebody needs. What do they need? They need your guidance. They need your expertise. They need to explain all the things that you have are skilled to be able to communicate with them. But what do they want?
Starting point is 00:03:29 They want to know where a good place to take a first date is. They want to know what's the amenities of this community. They want to know what's the water park I can take my kids to. That's the way that you use video to be effective. Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show, I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone, have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
