Starting point is 00:00:36 art of the teach to sell method. Get ready to transform your approach and achieve unparalleled success. Just taking that one event, the Christmas tree events that we do, we get a Santa Claus. When we first started doing it, we would team up with other real estate agents because we wanted to be able to take cost. I remember the first one that we did, we probably had about 10 or 15 agents that participated. We did the event. The cool thing with that was none of the other agents' clients knew that there was 10 or
Starting point is 00:01:16 15 agents doing the event. So when their people would come out, they'd see all these trees being given out. They would see all these people there. And they would think that it was their agent's clients and it would just make them just love on their agents. So that's a way that you can be able to reduce your investment is to partner with other people and actually gain exposure and actually be able to put yourself in a position such that you're able to really look good.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Now, if you're like, I got no money at all, I can't invest three to $5,000 in an event. By the way, we get sponsors as well, of course. But let's just say I can't invest, I have no money to invest at all. If that's the case, one of the best events that I've ever done was at the, there was a park not too far from me. I'm in NASA's. Virginia that I did an event at. And I literally just said to people, hey, do you want to go? Do you want to go play soccer in front of the frisbee? So we had to pay for whatever the admission was to be able to get into the park, which I didn't pay for the people coming in. I just got hot dogs and hamburgers and sodas and stuff and boom, that's it. So it's literally, if you have no money, you can say a simple, hey, you want to just go get some hot dogs and throw a frisbee, right? Like it's such a simple event. The purpose of this is to be able
Starting point is 00:02:44 to position yourself so that you're providing value, that you're contributing, that you're maintaining relationships. And when you do so, then you're going to be in a position such that you're able to, again, you're able to be the person who's attracting people to them. So we were going through, we were talking about different strategies. Today I was talking about doing events. I was talking about whether it was a charity event. Oh, by the way, one last thing about that Christmas tree event.
Starting point is 00:03:14 We have raised, I don't know, but it's in the high thousands of toys for Toys for Tots. We're talking like Toys for Tots has to come out here with one of those big trucks with the big trailers on the back of it just to haul away all the toys that we raised for toys for tots from one event. Okay, so it's when you do it right, it allows for you to be able to contribute. It allows for you to be able to gain business. It allows for you to be able to gain business. It allows for you to be able to make a difference. I also remember many of those events where I would take the toys and we would have people reach out to me. I remember we brought some toys to a family in upper Marlboro, Maryland who reached
Starting point is 00:03:59 out to me about the event. She says I don't have any toys for my kids. Can you help? Sure. We took some of the toys that were donated drove it over to our house she has three kids and you know donated them and was able to help them for their Christmas right so 70 000 from one client and many many families that your help and a tradition for many families as well so consider that it doesn't have to be as big as what I just mentioned, but just consider how can you make an impact to be able to do some sort of event in a way that you're able to love on your people. I promise you. All right guys, so I know that Steve can't talk George. What do you have? We're going to end a little bit short today. I don't know if George, if you're available or not, are you able to talk.
Starting point is 00:05:57 The price of seeing kids faces after that. Yeah, no, I didn't get to see the kids faces, but I got to see the mama's face and it was freaking amazing Steve. I mean she was crying. George, what you got? Well, I mean I got people that want to buy our rents, land and everything. So I'm working on that and my son just came home yesterday from the Air Force Guard Training. So everything is good. Good. I'm still working, working hard to make sure I woke up 2 o'clock this morning, couldn't go to sleep again.
Starting point is 00:06:40 And I was on the computer trying to set up people, show them properties. So hopefully it will work out. All right, any thoughts about the content for today? That's amazing, good job with all that. Oh, your content, yes. I mean, there was a point that there was a time that I used to do that for my wife's business, where you paid half an hour to do people
Starting point is 00:07:00 and they put your business name on the high school t-shirt. And then, no know, so, yes, being able to involve the community and everything goes a long way. There was a one time that we went to get some beer, whiskey, and barbecue joint. That time I wasn't into real estate. But the next time they do it, I'm going to put my name on there so I can go and showcase what I do. Like you said, so that's a good point. Yeah. Even also, here's another thing.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Thank you, George, for sharing that. You know, I was just thinking, I do often a poker night at my house and I just do this just to have fun. And I just doing this just to have fun. And I did a transaction from Poker Night about maybe six months ago for an $850,000 transaction from one of the poker players. Right? So it's just about being social. It's just about doing things. It's just about being out in the world and being so that you're being deliberate and
Starting point is 00:08:02 you'll get business. By the way, Steve and George, if either of you like to play poker or if you don't like to play poker, I'd love to have you guys out. It's a fun casual game. You don't have to even know how to play. It's you. The worst you'll lose is 20 bucks. All right.
