If you don't follow the leverage time model, you might as well throw a dart with your eyes
closed and see where it lands.
It's a really, really low likelihood that you're going to be able to find the right
person.
So then when you follow the leverage model to hire, if you know that you have a 50% chance
of getting it right, the other 50% chance is that you're going to get it wrong.
That's the key to your success and that's to get out of business with them quickly.

real estate coach Dan Rashan
from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents
discusses a crucial topic for every business,
the art of hiring and firing.
Dan explains that contrary to popular belief,
the most crucial aspect of the hiring process
isn't just finding
suitable candidates and knowing when to let go of those who aren't a good fit. Dan explores why
firing bad employees is essential for the health and success of your organization. Create an
environment where creativity can flourish in the latest No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents
episode. If I could tell you the most important thing for you to do in hiring is to fire.
All right?
That's the most important thing you can do in hiring is to fire.
That's a mistake that I've made in the past.
And the reality of that is, is you're going to only probably get a good rate about 50% of the time if you follow the leverage time model. The leverage model, which is to recruit talented people to you,
select the right people to be in business with,
train the right people for them to reach their goals,
lead them so that they know how to think so they can reach their goals,
motivate them so they can reach their goals.
And then the last of that model is to manage your money.
All right, so that's leverage time.
If you don't follow the leverage time model,
you might as well throw a dart with your eyes closed
and see where it lands.
It's a really, really low likelihood
that you're going to be able to find the right person.
So then when you follow the leverage model to hire,
then if you know that you have a 50% chance
of getting it right,
the other 50% chance is that you're going to get it wrong.
And that's the key to your success, and that's to get out of business with them quickly.
And that's the key there when people are hiring where people get frustrated.
What happens instead is I hear people hire somebody, they don't fire they get frustrated they tell me how much that person is aggravating them how much
that you know how much uh agitation how much they suck and they deal with it thinking either
that they can change that person or that person will change themselves
and that right there is a vital mistake
how long after my first closing was it before I hired my first person?
Has anybody heard me say that? Yeah, I remember you saying you hired them right away.
One day. The day after my first closing was my first hire. April 7, 2008 was my first closing. April 8th, 2008 was my first hire.
And trust me, I had no experience.
I had no wisdom.
I had none of the stuff that I have today in regards to my knowledge.
But I intuitively knew I had to do that.
I intuitively knew that my job was to lead generate.
I didn't have it crystal clear where I could explain it the way that I can
explain it today.
That took years and years and years to be able to put it into the models and
to be able to be like, okay, well, Hey, check it out.
You have to learn this framework. You have to do this framework.
I can sit here all day long and just,
just be able to go through the frameworks with you.
Cause I have that all internalized, right? It's all just steps.
That's all it is. Right but it's i didn't have
any i didn't have any of that to be able to figure things out but what i had was an intuition
to say my job is to lead generate my job is to find business and damn there seems like a lot of stuff to do in this business.
So how can I continue to do my job and do all that other stuff?
It was natural for me to understand that.
