Starting point is 00:01:25 highlights the importance of writing down your goals to help you achieve them. Dan explains that when you write down what you want to accomplish, you're programming your brain to look for opportunities that align with your objectives. Learn how to use this technique to achieve your goal in this new episode of No Broke Months for Salespeople. So what I want to do is I want to help and support you for a very, very effective, a very, very meaningful next 12 months.
Starting point is 00:01:52 So there was a study that was done or not done, who knows, a 1979 Harvard study that said the graduate students were asked to, how many of them had goals set? And of those that had goals set, 3% had their written goals. 10 years later, it was observed that the 3% that had written their goals down had gotten 10 times greater results than the 97% combined. Now, there's some suggestion out there that this is a false,
Starting point is 00:02:26 like this is a myth, that this ever actually happened. So I just want to share that with you as well, because if you Google it, you may find some discrediting stuff that that was a myth that that ever actually happened. But that being said, I think that we can all agree that when we write down our goals, when we write down our information, that we are able to achieve those goals. What are some of the reasons why that would be true? So you cannot change it. Okay. Because sometimes when you feel like you won't be able to reach something, you say, okay, let's not go there.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Let's change my route and go somewhere else. But when you have it written down, you can't do that. Something to work towards? I want to go back to energy. You're both right. I want to go to energy. So in life, we talk about this when we go through the CPI communication model. But what we don't talk about this is just in other ways often about how everything is made up of energy.
Starting point is 00:03:23 And I'm sure that you've heard the statement, what you focus on expands. I have two of these sheets of paper right here. This says, the CPI community has gained 1,000 members in 2023 because an agent should never have a broke month. All right. Okay. So that either desk that I'm sitting at, I've got a little sheet of paper that says that. When I'm talking to you right now, my hand's on that piece of paper, okay? My hand's on that piece of paper to help me transfer the energy of that paper into my awareness, into existence. Also, what did you notice about the way that I stated that goal?
Starting point is 00:03:59 I'll read it again. It was enthusiastic. It was in the past. It was in the past tense. Past past. It was in past tense. Past tense. It was in past tense. You guys recognize that? What would cause me to put it in past tense?
Starting point is 00:04:12 Because it already happened. It already happened in my mind. The same way as when I sat there in that sauna for years and years and years, I easily helped 10 families every single month buy or sell a home. I easily helped 10 families every single month buy or sell a home. I easily help 10 families every single month buy or sell a home. Okay. And listen to the words on that easily. So when we start putting these goals and nuances of our languaging,
Starting point is 00:04:35 it's going to be important. Okay. So like really declare what you want. Thanks for listening to the show today. I am truly passionate about watching great business owners like you and salespeople to grow. And nothing excites me more than hearing your incredible success stories. And I invite for you.
