Don't let another day go by without focusing on what truly matters in the latest No Broke Months for Salespeople episode. There's five things that make you money. What is the five things? Somebody teach that to me right now. Lead generation, setting appointments, going on appointments to get hired, negotiations, and scripts and role play. These are the activities that make you money. Most of us here don't have the support to be able to only do these five things. You and your business have got to be thinking like, how do I position myself so I'm
Starting point is 00:02:11 only doing these five things? But those five things are what make you money. So for me in my business, for the most part, I only do those five things. I don't do any single thing else in my business because that's the driver of the business. I only want to get hired to negotiate. You let me do those two things, I'll get 10 listings a month for us. I'm like, I only want to get hired and negotiate and I'll do everything before getting hired. So when I mean negotiation, I make money by negotiating, by getting on the phone with a buyer, a seller, a cooperating broker, and making deals work. So really, it's more negotiating the deal to be accepted. But yes, negotiating the commissions, that is a negotiation.
Starting point is 00:02:58 And that does make you money if you're good at it. But it's more like getting the deals to work. Home inspection goes south. That's your job. You make money by keeping that deal together. So once you understand those five things, and let's say you have a choice between saving a deal because of a home inspection or building a website, that's your compass over here, which one you should be doing, right? So that's why you have that compass because now it's like, well, yeah, but I want my website to be pretty. Dude, your deal's about to fall apart. That's where your time should be spent.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Right. So it's about giving you guys a compass so that now you because no one's probably ever given you a compass before. And you have a million different options. Right. And it's about saying, OK, well, here's where you make your money. So if you're doing these five things here, one to three hours a day, every single day, you're fine. Once upon a time, I was a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty, and I was high up in the echelon there. And I had a conversation with Gary Keller. This came directly from Gary Keller. He told me this one-on-one directly. He said to me, he said, Dan, I don't need to do my job all day long. I just need to do my job every day. I only need to do my job two to three hours a day, every single day. And the rest of the day, I can get distracted, do whatever the heck else I wanted. Gary Keller
